Charles Tupper

A must-see if you have the means to drive out there while visiting Halifax. The drive is amazing and the visit to Hope for Wildlife is informative with a very friendly and knowledgable staff. I saw a story about them on Animal Planet in the US and decided to visit when I came to Nova Scotia. They do wonders with all sorts of critters. Definitely worth the visit. Donations are welcome, no actual cost to visit. But when you see it, you'll feel generous. :-)

Denis & Sylvie Duperron

Everything. The staffs giving the tour are knowledgeable and give a lot of informations. Will definitely return when they have an open house.

Denita MacPhee

Went to the open house and there was a lot of people.

Matthias Yeah

Amazing place with all these helpful people. We've been there on the annual open house day (every last Friday in August) and had luckily the chance to come close to many of their wild animals. No admission fee, but I think everyone will donate for their passionate work what one can afford. Perfect trip with kids!

Michelle Ducharme

Love informative show. Zoos might have ideas for protacal for introducing new animals that may cause outbreaks of disease to established animals. Also, a data system to give healthy but not able to release to wild. Being part of helping the diversity of the breeding gene pool could be an option instead of ending life. This preservation of the animal world is a global effort, dreaming a need for a global communication data system.

David Sebelius (Davsvidfan02)

Hope, I love watching your program. I can't seem to watch enough, so much so, that I'll watch reruns over and over sometimes. I have recently decided to volunteer at a local rescue center. I have always loved animals and love helping any kind of animal. I often wonder if I could do what you do, on a much smaller scale though. I would really love to do that. My daughter volunteers often at an animal rescue center. She has actually fostered some of the rescued animals. She loves it. And I love that she loves it. I look forward to seeing new episodes. At least I'm hoping you continue to make new/more episodes. You have such a large heart. I wish you all the best and be safe.

Justin Whitby

What a great place to visit, my only concern was the lady in the visitors center Meridith, she was very down and gloomy. We were glad to move on and see the rest of the exhibits. The man tending the owl was much happier and lively !

Lori Gill

The best show on TV. The best place to visit too.

Grace Olson

I truly enjoyed my visit at Hope for Wildlife. The engaging volunteer led tours are a good way to meet the animals and hear about their stories. It's a great place to bring kids and allow them to engage with animals in captivity while avoiding the moral discomfort that comes from visiting healthy caged animals at a zoo or aquarium. All the animals at Hope for Wildlife are either preparing to be reinstated into their natural habitat or have been deemed non releasable, and are at Hope for Wildlife because they wouldn't be able to survive or thrive on their own in the wild. The animals we saw included a corn snake, a small python (my son was allowed to hold both snakes), a groundhog, a chinchilla (we were able to hold the chinchilla as well), a rabbit, a sugar glider, a parrot, a talking crow, red squirrels, Chipmunks, a fox, and some chickens. The site has public restrooms (flushing toilets inside portapotties) and a gift shop where you can make donations or purchase items to support Hope for Wildlife.

Save the animals. Support hope for wildlife. They create magic in their care so wildlife can fly and run back to their homes in nature.

Jolene Mulaire

Beautiful wildlife rehabilitation centre. The centre is obviously well cared for by staff and volunteers. Tours are given on an hourly basis by knowledgeable volunteers, though you can explore most of the grounds by yourself. Pens have a small informational card about the species and the specific animal in care. There are a variety of native and rescued non-native species at various stages of care and rehabilitation. Some are permanent educational ambassadors, others to be released when they are healed.

nasur

Jessica Malakoff

Hello all you Hope lovers. I am from Kelowna BC and we watch your show all the time and have for years! I want to let you know that because of watching the show we ,my friend and I ,we're able to save a mama duck and her clutch of 10 babies. They were stuck down a stairwell and the babies couldn' get out. Using techniques we learned from the show we were quickly able to get them out of the stairwell and on their merry little way! It was so awesome and I can see how your job can be so extremely satisfying and we just helped one family of ducks!. We used a hoody to cover and wrap mama so she didn't interfere and didn't get hurt, then scooped up all the cute lil fluffy babies, put them around the corner and off they waddled! Thanks to your show everything worked out brilliantly! Thank you and keep up the good work! Sincerely, Jessica and Margaret

Hope for Wildlife was an awesome experience. The facility consists of an information building, a small animal shelter immediately to its rear where you may meet some of the resident animals they have, and a circular pathway where you can …

It's unbelievable what Hope has done for Nature. Many critters have been given a second chance at life because of her and her crew. My only regret is that my busy work schedule keeps me from being able to volunteer down there with them myself. However every time I visit, I feel like I could stay there forever and I just cant get enough of the show. I hope it stays on Television forever

John Benoit

Amazing work that they're doing to rehabilitate injured animals. Very approachable, friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Tours are free (donations are welcome) and I personally enjoyed my time there. My wife and kids also loved it.

A wonderful place for young and old alike to explore and learn about nature and local wildlife. The added bonus is the wonderful caring people that go about the daily life of caring and rehabilitating the local injured animals for release back into nature. A must stop for families and animal lovers.

It's a great place to take the family on the weekend, entry by donation and your money goes to a wonderful cause. Takes about an hour to walk around. And has a cute gift shop. It's not for profit so all proceeds go back to caring for the animals!

Heather Elliott

Donna Sperry

This past summer I, with my brother & wife (from Calgary) visited your location. I had not heard of "Hope for Wildlife". Each year when my brother and his wife come to Nova Scotia for some holiday time, they always have a list of places they want to visit. "Hope for Wildlife" was at the top of their list this year, due to the TV show they watch weekly out of Calgary. Seeing first hand the care and compassion given to all the animals, made me fall in love with all that Hope and her volunteers do to give every animal a second chance at life. ONE person can and is making a difference. :)

Patsy Ward

My daughter and I love watching Hope for Wildlife. While kayaking on the Credit River in Missuauga, we rescued a seagull tangle up in a double fish hook.
