Here we offer you the opinions of real people who buy the products of Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital (Veterinarian) in the area close to Nova Scotia (Canada).
At the present the firm has a score of 4.8 stars over 5 and this score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings is almost the highest, and it is founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the valuation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to rate when they are pleased with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give scores when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian corresponds to the category of Veterinarian.
My pets have received excellent care for over 20 years. Staff is knowledgeable and compassionate.
Very good service!
The staff are knowledgeable and the vets are very caring.
I took my cat there today. The Doctor was kind and knowledgeable, and the front staff was very friendly. Will definitely bring future pets here as well.
I really found all of the people who work at the Dartmouth Veterinary...from the desk to the veterinary assistant and the Vet....I really felt they cared, and they all seemed to love their job.....this is Pixie and she is 11 yrs. old. We adopted her through ElderDog Canada (they help to re-home older dogs when their owners aren't able to care for them)
We have brought all our pets here since about 1979. They have always been awesome to deal with, in good times and bad. I can't say enough good things about them. Our new dog LOVES them.
The staff were amazing and friendly, they knew exactly what they where doing.
The Veterinarians and staff are caring, professional, and knowledgeable. Always a positive experience when discussing the care of our dogs. I feel fortunate to have them in our neighbourhood!
Dr. Fraser was so kind and very thorough in helping us with discussions on quality of life. She was honest and very helpful. We felt much better after the visit in knowing how to care for our dog and what to look out for.
Great vet clinic! Helpful and caring in all aspects! I have brought my last three dogs here religiously. Clean and friendly environment with great staff!
Wow what amazing people!!! We've just been adopted by Tortilla, a Calico rescue cat from SPCA, and went to the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital for the post adoption visit. The staff was SUPER accommodating with us when we had to reschedule our visit a few times because Tortilla didn't want to get in the carry crate. We met with Dr. Mike Ackerley who was very very nice and friendly and took his time to patiently answer all our questions and concerns, gave us solid advice followed by a thorough visit to our shy Tortilla that seemed very comfortable and at ease with him! I will definitely recommend the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital to anyone who has a pet!
They care for your pets the way you do at this veterinarian Clinic. From The Smiling Faces at the front desk through your entire visit you feel comfortable with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. Your fur babies are not pets here they are part of the family, they will get love and compassion and you will be given reassurance that you need during your hardest times. Cleanliness is 10/10 Friendliness is 100/10 Price is 10/10 Before any major visit such as a surgery you will be given price options to see where your price point is and help you prepare. I have always had the prices of my visit come in way under what I expected. When getting medicine it usually takes 2-3 days at most for anything they need to order in and they always call you when your medication arrives. And when you leave the caring doesnt stop♡they will call you post op or post appointment to make sure your baby is doing well the days following your treatment. Would recommend to everyone ♡
Dr Fraser is a fantastic veterinarian. She listens and then offers a variety of suggestions without being pushy. She takes the time to answer all questions thoroughly and never makes you feel rushed. I feel as though she genuinely cares about her patients and their needs.
My eldest cat is very difficult when going to the vets. Like I mean REALLY difficult (I get so embarrassed!). I’ve been to several vets over time because I end up getting so embarrassed that I feel like I can never go back to the same spot more than once whenever she needs a check up etc BUT since moving to the area of this vet office, she has been there several times and each time they are so accommodating to her needs and book off extra time to work with her when she’s being more difficult than the average cat. Everyone is super friendly and patient. Thank you! :)
Very friendly people and we loveeee Dr Fraser ❤️
We have been dealing with Dart. Vet. Hos. for a number of years. All the staff are pleasant, professional and caring. They have always made us feel like family. The Vet and tech advice has always helped us deal with all issues big or small and they tell it to us straight. No unnecessary testing or explorations. They treat our pets as though they were their very own. Both Tango and Whiskie are happy to see the gang when they go in for checkups etc. Leaves us with a great feeling.
Very caring and courteous, and they emailed us the records from our visit, which is very convenient and helpful!!! It's been very difficult to track down previous records for my adopted dog, so this is a huge bonus for me. No complaints; my dog will definitely be returning.
My husband and I had to take our beloved cat Shadow in today, she hadn't eaten in at least three days and had lost a lot of weight and was very weak. The staff at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital were amazing. So empathetic and sensitive to our needs and to our kitty's needs, and when it became clear that Shadow had kidney failure and her condition could not be reversed or even halted, the veterinarians who helped us were so kind and gentle with the way they broke the news to us and they really just went above and beyond to make the whole experience less horrible. It's the saddest thing, to lose a beloved fur-baby, but the wonderful staff at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital made the whole situation just that little bit more bearable. Kudos, and five stars to them. Any future fur-babies we adopt will have their health care taken care of through Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital, because we know they can be trusted to care the best for the pets.
They've been caring for our two cats since 2010 and the level of care has been consistent from the beginning.
This vet is amazing! Doctor morton is so sweet and genuinely cares and listens . Thank you all so much, such a friendly bunch!
I have a bad dog! And I am a crazy owner. Dr Fraser and all the staff were attentive and responsive while booking the appointment, waiting for the records to be transferred and during the appointment. They listened to my concerns and handled my dog with skill and compassion. I will absolutely recommend and continue to go there with my own animals.
I wouldn't dream of taking my fur-children to any other clinic.
Wonderful people. Have responded to emergency quickly and advise you of all your options .
I've been going there for over twenty years and I'd never go anywhere else.
Always friendly and helpful.
Always Friendly and helpful!!! We would recommend them to everyone!!
I have a new puppy named Lola. She’s been to this vet twice so far and I’m very happy with their excellence in pet care. We all know what it’s like to leave your baby in the hands of strangers but this group is excellent at answering questions and you can tell they love their work by the love they give my puppy. I highly recommend this place for all your pet issues and health needs Katie
I've been taking my dog Oscar to Dartmouth Vet hospital since moving here two years ago and I have been very happy with their support and care. My dog was almost 15 and unfortunately I had to make the decision to put him to sleep due to his declining health. This was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Despite this, they made it the most positive experience I could have hoped for. Dr Robb and his staff were amazing. They allowed us as much time as we needed to say goodbye to him and it was a gentle and peaceful experience for both my family and my dog Oscar. I highly recommend this vet centre and know if I decide to get another pet, they will be going there for their care.
Best vet clinic in the HRM.
Great place to trust with your little ones. We had our kitten neutered here and they were great from the beginning to the end. 10/10
Wonderful staff are always welcoming and extremely helpful. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. We've been taking our cats here for a couple years and they've received great care.
The staff here is so friendly! Dr Paul Robb was amazing with my cat Puddin, and he was able to put me at ease and answer any questions I had. I will 100% be bringing Puddin back to this establishment!
We have taken Belle here since we first got her 2 and a half years ago. They staff and Drs are great, They don't try to push unnecessary tests etc. Belle always comes out happy from the love and treats the Team gives her. 10/10 would always recomend!
Very nice and good to my cat. Let me know what to keep an eye on, and gave me options and estimates
Always proffesional and efficient , polite I have been a customer for approx 20 yrs
I absolutely love these people.. I am a helicopter pet mom and they ALWAYS make me feel comfortable and address any concerns I may have.. Maverick is a dog that is very hyper and can be difficult at times to manage (without his momma). they treat him with such love and care and as if he's their very own fur baby... I am very blessed to have each and every one of the staff taking care of my boy .????❣so to anyone looking for a vet who will love your babies and make sure that they are ok. Dartmouth Vet is the place to be.. I trust them and so should you ???????? Thank You All so much ❣???? Leona Lind
Yesterday was my first visit with my two new kittens. Great environment, all staff were great to deal with and made me feel very comfortable as a new pet parent. I'm very pleased I chose Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital for Bruno and Agnes.
I've always had great experiences with this place. The staff really care about the animals and are very friendly and helpful!
This is where we take our two cats and we love it, and the vet is responsive and cares about the animals. We have never been sold something our cats don't need and the vet is very honest and compassionate. It can be busy but the reception works hard to get you what you need and are always polite and courteous.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Have always received great service from this vet. Very concerned about giving your pet the best possible care. They take the extra time to try and truly understand the issues and often follow up to ensure things are going well. Highly recommend.
Compassionate and empathetic Vets, techs and front desk people. I can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you fkr all you do!
Very happy with how attentive they were with my dog and I like how they let you know when to make next appointment.
Great friendly staff, Vet explained everything thoroughly. Wonderful experience.
I got a puppy in October and have been taking him here. The staff are very friendly and my dog has had great care.
Wonderful place, everyone is always so helpful :)
Great staff, friendly and fast service. Our dogs like going ng here almost as much as daycare.
Our dog has been a patient at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital since he was 2 months, he is 3 1/2 years now. He has received excellent care and we continue to visit. As a dog owner, I have never sent my dogs to the vet. But seeing the care and service we received from this veterinary, we believe we made the best decision for our dog. David
A short time ago we arrived unannounced and without an appointment at the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. Even although our reason for visiting was NOT an emergency were were treated with and a cheerful attitude on behalf of the staff.. Thaqnks folk. Gabriella also says woof!!!
Amazing staff!
My pet was deceased before I arrived there, yet they treated him with respect. They brought him into a private room so the family could say goodbye
Dr. Jones is excellent with the patients. Her practice of thoroughly documenting her findings and observations before you even leave the clinic are appreciated and point to her professionalism and caring. Would highly recommend this clinic.
The staff here are so warm and caring. They swiftly responded to my dog’s imminent health concern, by bringing him straight in for attention. The added care and conversation are invaluable when dealing with pet owners. We had similar experiences with our previous dog, at this location. Highly recommend.
The clinic fit me in right away when I called upset my dog was experiencing pain suddenly and the staff were thorough and knowledgeable. Love the emailed vet notes they provided.
I think the staff are wonderful, friendly & caring!! We have been going to the D.V.Hospital since we moved to Dart. & don't even think of going elsewhere.
Great staff that really cares about your pets
Great Team. Super satisfied. Treats my tiny dog with upmost most care and are gentle to her sensitivity. When Jade joined us ... We decided to move our vet from Lawrencetown (Weste Animal Hospital) to Tacoma and we've no regrets!! Closer to home and my dog comes home happy after her visits, not scared.
Dr Rob and the Staff are just great. Dr Rob shows genuine concern for our little Ruby. He is friendly, concerned and excellent with the owners too!
We have been very happy with the services we have received for our three cats here. We will be back
Only the best service here for my cats!
Really sweet staff, owning a pet or having a fur baby can get pretty pricey but at least these people know that and help as much as they can. Really have to respect that fact when other places like to gouge you
Clean, bright, comforting as soon as you walk through the door you know your loved one is in good hands. The staff are friendly and gentle with your pet and you can see them comforted in their hands. I would recommend this hospital for your fur babies any day.
Lovely staff who always ask about all of our animals whenever we bring in just one! Kind, gentle, patient. Highly recommend them!
Today I visited a veterinary clinic with my kitten, we did the second vaccination. I really liked the attitude of the staff to my kitten and to me. Very polite staff, it's nice. Thank you for your great work!

My puppy loves the team at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital! Being new to Nova Scotia, it is very reassuring to have a great Vet that my dog feels comfortable with. Dr. Fraser is amazing with our puppy and loves seeing him just as much as he loves seeing her. Everyone in the clinic is extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We cannot recommend this clinic enough!
I had my dog in or a spay and Not Once did I meet the vet pre or post-op from the start only seen the vet tech for papers then her again for post-op instructions.... Mad me feel like TAKE MY MONEY/SERVICE AND RUN, DIDN'T EVEN GIVE ME THE COURTESY OF LETTING ME MEET THE VET TO GO OVER ALL THE INFO AS IF HE REALLY GAVE A CRAP, it's the least you could do is have your actual vet come out have you sign consent since when does just a tech obtain this for surgery?? . ...... Not to mention if you have Anything related to the surgery post-op go wrong (infected, bleeding anything at all, the cost well that's on you, your own problem! So if they don't close the site properly or screw up something inside and your pet bleeds out not their problem basically!!!! I will also mention post op when I mentioned about why my dogs surgical line was twice as long and not closed nicely the skin was just glued improperly with an uneven closure like a 2 yr old closed the site. (imagine sewing a shirt and not having the 2 lines matched up its all bunchy out of place as if they rushed) was also upset that she was initially supposed to be done in the morning, but no she sat there under stress all day before getting done. Sooo when they say will be done in the morning that's a lie!!!! If I knew I wouldn't have rushed around in the early morning to get her there and just brought her in after lunch. This place is a joke!!! They build up a reputation for being used for Hope for Wild Life specializing with wild animal care. Thats it! Also other places do surgeries by the weight which makes sense more anesthetic for a larger animal, nope not there you could have a little 5lb or 140lb to get done and it's the same price. IN A NUT SHELL: YOU WALK IN DROP YOUR PET OFF AT THE DESK AND LEAVE GET A CALL AFTER SURGERY FROM THE TECH TO SAY THE PET IS WAKING AND PICK UP TIME, THEN YOU WALK YOU WILL PAY ...FIRST... THEN THEY TAKE YOU INTO A ROOM FOR THE TECH TO JUST QUICKLY READ WHAT'S BEEN ALREADY PRE PRINTED FOR ALL SURGERIES NO INFO TO EVEN GIVE ME ABOUT THE SURGERY AS SHE STATED "I DON'T KNOW I WASN'T HERE" ..STILL DON'T GET TO SEE YOUR PET THEN SEND YOU BACK OUT TO THE WAITING RM WHERE YOUR PET WILL BE BROUGHT YOU BY ANOTHER PERSON THAT HANDS OF TO YOU SAYING HAVE A NICE AFTERNOON. AND SO I STOPPED HER AND SAID WAIT LET ME LOOK AT HER BELLY AND QUESTIONED ABOUT THE SITE BEING THE LENGTH OF MY HAND NOT 2INCH LONG AND HOW IT WAS CLOSED SOOOO BADLY SHE RESPONDED BY THAT NORMAL ...AS IF I'M STUPID... I USED TO BE A VET TECH AND NOW A OR NURSE I DO SURGERIES ALL DAY EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY CAREER 5-6 DAYS A WEEK. BUT NO I'M JUST EXPECTING TOOOO MUCH I GUESS AFTER ALL IT'S JUST A PET RIGHT ..GUESS SO TO DARTMOUTH VET .
Excellent service as usual
All staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Dr. Ackerley is awesome!!!!
Really compassionate and caring staff. Veterinarians, techs and front desk are great. They took good care of my multiple dogs with multiple issues .
Our pets are our family and treat them as such. If you are looking for a veterinary clinic that cares for your fur baby as if it were their own this is the place to TRUST. I have been taking my lil cockapoo here for 8.5 years now and always feel he has been well examined never rushed and left with all questions answered. They are NOT medicine pushers or pushy in any way. On the very odd occasion my lil guy needed medication it worked right away. The staff each and everyone are simply FABULOUS and friendly PS they like giving treats which my baby never refuses. They also removed a few ticks because I was afraid to and didn't even charge me, not many places do that. On 2 occasions I had to get him in right away and they accommodated me in less than an hour both times even though they were busy and never rushed me, that speaks volumes to me as a pet Mommy... They so much as called the next day just to see how he was doing, NOT many places do that... I will stop typing and only say if you are looking for a place you can TRUST knowing your fur baby is in good hands, pick up the phone and call them, you won't regret it or the bill they are very reasonably priced. Maria Feltrin Mommy of Winston
Hello oou doggie Maddie is so much more friendly and happy and moving more with this new medication. Sometimes I give it twice a day . What a big difference in her personality. As always you are so helpful and caring to my pets and always find me a solution to my 2 senior doggies and my cat. 20 out of 10 in every way. Thanks for your help.
I recently moved to this area and had to see a vet as my Frenchie’s eye was bothering him. I couldn’t have found a lovelier place. Staff are kind, personable and organised, and Dr. Robb was brilliant. It’s a relief having them nearby.
Always a great experience
All the fine folks at Dartmouth Vet are wonderful, caring people who will do their best for your furry or feathered family. Our present dog has anxiety issues, all my questions and concerns for him are met with patience, guidance and perfessional kindness. Thanks to them, he's doing great! I've been taking our fur family to Dartmouth Vet since the 1970's. Sandi & Boomer ????????
Great veterninary hospital! The staff is really friendly and helpful. I had a feeling that my dog was in good care thanks to Dr. Jones. She was really good at communicating everything about my dog. Gave me plenty of options to chose from and also samples to try. Excellent followup. I appreciated the written medical record I got by email after my visit. I am glad to have found a place with such great service.
I have been bringing my animals to see Dr. Paul Robb since I adopted my first cat. My parents brought all of their animals to to the Dartmouth Vet Hospital and their sister clinics for many years. The staff have always been welcoming, warm, and caring. I expect to be coming back for long time to come.
I've been going to the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital since 1975 with my first dog. I've met lots of different staff and veterinarians over the years and I've always felt confident and comfortable with the way all 5 of my dogs were treated. I can't thank them enough for all the great care they've given. Some of the nicest people you could ever meet work there.
COVID Appt had to be made and waited 3 weeks. All assistant were really impressed by Lumie's age and how vivacious she was for an older dog. The Vet was professional and provided good synopsis and gave good explanation. Will go back.
We had a great experience with this veterinarian hospital! The staff was so sweet and caring and I felt that we had a very thorough assessment and discussion with the veterinarian Dr. O'Leary. She was so attentive and really explained clearly her findings and options moving forward. I will definitely be coming back and making this my regular clinic!
My experience a sad occasion but handled very well by staff
Great people that know their stuff.
We switched to Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital in fall of 2016, based on recommendation from a neighbour. We've had a much better experience. We really felt the animals needs are put first, and the tech's / Drs. really take the time to answer any questions. We never feel rushed there, or pressured to do anything we don't feel comfortable doing. I also feel they don't want to do anything that they don't need to do unless it is necessary. We just had our cat's teeth cleaned, they suspected 6 months ago it may need to be done, but they wanted reassess as it was the first time we were in that clinic. Our previous vet kept trying to push it on us, and then push a food product. We have not experienced any of that with Dartmouth Vet Clinic. We will continue to take both our cat and dog here!
They care about our babies and do whatever they can to help. Don't push anything unnecessary either. 6dogs and 7cats over 20 years. No complaints. :)
This vet office is great! We have a sweet asthmatic cat they take great care of and a not so friendly cat they have to deal with. Always professional and helpful
pleasant, reliable and caring-- I trust my animals will be well cared for.Dr Robb and the entire staff are excellent
Josey is always welcome and she loves going for the social aspect. The lobby can be such a friendly place. She is always treated so kindly by all the staff.
We have gone to Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital for years with our cat and two dogs. Recently, one of our dogs needed abdominal surgery to remove a blockage. It was nerve wracking for us but we knew she was in great hands. Dr. Jones was great in explaining the procedure and quelling my concerns. She called to give us updates and was very compassionate. Dr. Ackerley performed the surgery and our fur baby is healing up nicely. The technicians explained aftercare very well and answered my 1948739 questions without making me feel silly. The ladies at reception are always top notch as well. I can’t recommend them enough. :)
Best place around
Kind and helpful
Appointment was on time. Staff were friendly. The vet Cassandra Fraser was also very nice and took the time to get to know us and our new cat. We'll be back.
I've been bringing all four of my pets to Dartmouth Veterinary Clinic for over 5 years now. All of their staff are very friendly, and every vet I've interacted with has treated me and my pets with respect and compassion.
We have been bringing all of our pets to Dartmouth Vet for years. Recently our 11 year old Tuxedo cat Gabby was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism after an emergency visit to the Metro Emergency Hospital, she was started on thyroid medication twice a day for life. Gabby had suddenly stopped eating when she became sick. She had a follow up appointment with Dr. Fraser at Dartmouth Vet. and she gave us a treatment plan for Gabby. (I had been syringe feeding Gabby for 5 days.) Dr. Fraser also gave Gabby an appetite stimulant pill and injection along with several different flavors of canned food to try. We were thrilled when we brought Gabby home and she immediately started to eat. We also received several calls checking on Gabby's condition from the wonderful caring staff at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. We are so happy that Gabby is back to herself.
They accepted to see my cat in a short time after I call 6 places. They took the time to do a check on and listen her story. Happy to finally find a place for my lovely ????
Great care for our pet. Very knowledgable
My family has been going to this vet for years, so when my furbabies started getting itchy we took our kitty there to get checked out. Everything was explained clearly and we were even shown how to apply the medication. We will definitely continue to use the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital.
Excellent
We are in the midst of having our cat Salem tested and potentially treated. We have been quite worried about him. Dr. Robb was very compassionate and honest with us, and I and I know that whatever the test results are, Salem will receive excellent care. All staff at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital are always friendly, professional, and patient. They make visits so easy. Many thanks to all.
Very friendly and helpful, lots of great suggestions to improve the quality of life of my pets!
Great service, friendly staff. I know my pets are in great hands.
From the people answering the phone lines to the technicians and vets, I have NEVER had ONE person be less than welcoming, kind and patient with my many questions. I will not need to look any further!
The workers here are great! From the lady's at the front desk to dr. Jones. So friendly, kind, very informative....just what you expect from people dealing with your loved ones. They also deal with a company called "pet card", a finance option to help pay your bill over a period of time. I will be spreading word of mouth on their wonderful customer service. Thank you!!
All staff were very professional and courteous to our needs!!!
I have been going there over 20 years. I tell them this is my second home. They take care of my pets next to none. A bit expensive but you pets Will be taken care of. Nice people. Efficient and busy. Thanks Dartmouth Vet.
First time I have been to this office in many years. But the staff and doctors are still a great bunch of people. They make sure all of your questions are addressed and your pet is looked after.
What an amazing clinic! I am so happy this place is in Dartmouth. So the staff were friendly and well informed and Dr. Fraser was excellent in explaining my options for treatment and tests for my kitten. Very happy to have chosen this vet clinic!
The staff truly do care about animals and are very gentle with them. They treat your pet like it's their own. I am new at having pet insurance and didn't know what was required for paperwork. They let me use their work computer to access my email for a claim form I needed for my insurance and were very helpful and patient. They were soo kind and productive. I recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone that wants the best care, support, and love for their non-human family members !!!
So helpful and great in emergencies! My dog ate ant poison and they looked up the ingredients for me and said she would be okay(she's a large dog) and didn't charge me a fee! Thanks for piece of mind I will recommend them to everyone!
We cannot reccomend the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital enough. The staff are always kind and empathetic and we have received excellent care for our dog, Henry, thanks to Dr. Sarah Jones. Dr. Jones is patient, thoughtful and sensitive to Henry’s needs. When immediate care is required she has walked us though what to expect and always provides the info we need to evaluate different options. When we need to make changes to Henry’s diet, exercise or other care needs she is direct and clear - never creating unnecessary panic or alarm. We fully trust Dr. Jones and that is so important when it comes to taking care of our furry family member.
The Staff here went above and beyond for my little Miniature Pinscher! They were friendly, accommodating and thorough. My fur baby has anxiety going to the vet, and the staff were patient and kind with her. They gave me peace of mind too. And during Covid 19, their standard of safety and cleanliness were excellent. I will definitely be bringing my fur baby back.
Superb service, provided excellent care for all my pets.
Great service, people
The intake technician was excellent. Dr. Fraser is excellent. The reception and checkout process was terrible. They left me waiting for 5 minutes in the waiting room, then said sorry they thought 5 minutes more, then another 10 minutes to get my bill. 20 minutes is too long to wait for an invoice. No apology, no thank you for waiting. Nothing. The attitude was like were doing you a big favor by doing our job...and there were 3 of them working !!! If it wasn't for the exceptional medical staff, I would find another vet hospital.
Such warm and friendly service. Always so understanding when I have to switch appt times due to our very busy schedule. 110% happy and confident taking our two dogs here ????????????
Wonderful, kind, caring, compassionate, professional.
DVH is the BEST place to bring your fur babies. The staff are amazing, kind, passionate and professional.LOVE YOU DVH!!
Dartmouth vet always gives top-notch service. Both of my dogs feel very comfortable when they go there and we always feel that we have been given great care and advice.
The staff always take such great care of my animals ❤️
Compassionate client focused clinic. Taking covid measures very seriously. I feel safe taking my cats to this clinic and always receive great care. I'm especially liking the detailed medical report that gets emailed out for annual exams! Each time I come here I, and my pets, are shown respect and good care. They have complimentary feliway sprayed towels for scared cats and extra leashes for dogs in case people forget. They have a fund that helps people overcome expensive emergencies and procedures as well and that alone shows me they want to help people clients as well as they do non-people clients.
Had a great experience with this vet. Even with COVID restrictions, where the pet goes in and you speak with the vet by phone, they made it a great and welcoming experience. They took the time to get to know both me and my pet.
First visit. The clinic was clean and inviting and Dr. Fraser was very caring, thorough and informative.
Took our 16 week old puppy in for routine shots, after we got home his eyes started to swell up and look like a couple of marshmellows. We called DVH and they took him back in immediately, did their thing and monitored him for a few hours after. Bane is all well and good now! Thank you DVH! Courtesy pic of Bane eating Watermelon
Dr. Akerley cancelled my spay appointment the morning of, at the time we were supposed to be there. While I understand stuff comes up I feel there should've been a cut off time to cancel the appointment. Inconsiderate considering the appointment was early am and I had to take off work and also had scheduled this around travelling. Not happy! 4 Paws was more accommodating.
Such a great staff. So helpful and knowledgeable and empathetic. So happy I took my new kitten here! We will be in good hands for many years to come ????
A+ Vet clinic. The front desk staff, the vet techs, and the veterinarians are all fantastic.
Quite disappointed, waiting for management to call me back
We were delayed getting our dog Ruby vaccinated due to Covid 19 but were booked in quickly and the appointment was very easy. We called on arrival, our dog was taken in and she is usually quite barky but had no issues. The vet contacted us by phone to go over everything and payment was taken when the dog was brought back to the car. Great job!
We have been a multiple cat household for a long time now and have been fortunate to be clients at two wonderful animal hospitals - Harbour Cities and Dartmouth Veterinary. We recently ended up looking after a found cat that turned out to have a severely infected uterus. After examination at HCVH, it was found to be beyond treatment by medication so the only way to save her was via surgery. With great co-operation between sister hospitals, DVH were able to schedule her for surgery. Special thanks to Dr. Marryatt and Taylor at HCVH and Dr. Robb and all the vet techs and client care staff at DVH. All did a wonderful job - explaining what the issue was before she went for surgery, what was done while she was there, and what we should do to follow up. We are watching Pandora’s recovery closely but so far she is eating well and is being very affectionate. Animal owners in Dartmouth are very fortunate.
Very pleasant experience. Friendly and courteous personnel and a calming atmosphere for pets. Medical issues clearly explained.
Friendly, efficient and patient with a first-time pet owner!
I was feeling emotional bringing my cat in for a checkup after several years and the staff and vet were so kind to me, it calmed me down. They were wonderful to my cat and the vet explained the results of the exam to me. Very nice, kind, professional people work there.
Chassy and Dozer love going to visit all the staff at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. We appreciate you all very much and thank you for the top notch care you give our pets..
So far after two visits and phone conversations I am impressed!
Amazing and caring staff
Friendly and close..reasonable cost
Always a pleasure to take my animals to the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital, staff are very friendly and are very involved with my pets. Vets are experienced and caring, taking the time to answer all my questions.
We have been bringing our pets to Dartmouth Vet for over 5yrs. The staff is absolutely amazing. Their knowledge, professionalism & compassion goes above and beyond. Dr. Cassandra Fraser is soooooooo good with the animals ( and the parents) She has always given us good advice and we have never regretted any decisions no matter how difficult. I would highly recommend this hospital.
Very disappointed. When booking the appointment I asked for the cost (routine annual vaccines). I was given the price and booked. At my appointment this morning I as charged almost double the amount I had been told for the examination. When I queried this they did absolutely nothing, I was simply told that the Tech that advised me got it wrong. Very poor service when people have to budget for these visits and I am disappointed that I have suffered because of their lack of training/knowledge.
All the vets here are wonderful and caring and compassionate. I always feel like they have my pet's best interests at heart
I will never be able to express how thankful I am for all team members at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. My cat, Riley has been going there since I met him at the SPCA, Riley was 2, he is almost 21 now. Dr O'Leary has seen him quite often over the past year. She has eased my worries and has provided a great deal of care to Riley as he gone into his final weeks. This is a team that will ensure the best care is provided, even when you do nothing more than cry on the phone. Thank you to all at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital
Always great service, very caring about my pets needs. Dr. Robb is the best, my oldest (Luke) 16.5 yrs and (Anakin) 14 yrs have been seeing Dr. Robb since they were puppies, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Really good care and attention, felt listened too and given sensible treatment with follow up direction. Professional and friendly, thank you!
Nature of cat's health challenges require cat and I work with many members of Dartmouth Vet Hospital team. In every role, with every team member we have had compassionate and professional support. Communication is open, timely and dependable. Cat obviously likes the team members providing treatments/ assessments and I am confident he is getting best care
very friendly staff and my doggie Rudy loves to go there !
Been a client for many years. Fabulous team of vets and staff.
I had both of my dogs in today and, as usual, we were well taken care of. The cost was reasonable and the care was wonderful, as always! I have been going there to Dr. Paul Robb for 31 years and would not even consider going elsewhere. He is a wonderful, compassionate Vet., the best there is!!
Smart and kind
Dartmouth Vet (everyone we have run into over the years, mainly see Dr. Robb) has always been there for us through the good and the bad. We always trust that they are going to be kind and honest. They have always suggest care that is best for the animal, we never feel we have to worry about them just doing tests or care that is not required.
Knowledgable and so helpful! Thank you for a great experience!
Take excellent care of our furry kids
We have been with Dartmouth Vet Hospital for 32 years. We have nothing but amazing things to say. Our questions have always been professionally responded. Our concerns have never been negated. They treat us with the utmost respect, even during those hardest of days when nothing else can be done than to end our four-legged family member has to have its suffering come to an end. They treat the animals as if they are their own. I have never had any of my 6 animals They are also not afraid to admit when someone or somewhere else could help us better. I highly recommend this clinic.
Service was excellent. Our cat, Oscar, is responding to his treatment. We find all of the staff very helpful.
We brought our new kitten here and it was our first vet experience in Dartmouth, but not in Halifax. The staff are so friendly, accommodating, and caring. The vets give an email record after each visit and offered many options to keep our kitty healthy and happy. Highly recommend!
Had a new vet this visit. Dr Fraser, she was very kind ,gentle & solved Brutus ear issue. Nice to see a new young doctor in the practice. His ear shaking stopped after first night of drops, we’re a happy family.
Excellent veterinary. Staff very friendly and caring. The Doctors are great with the animals and very thorough. They take the time to listen to your questions and provide answers. I have been taking my cats, Carey and Daisy to them for 9 years. Thank you.
We have been taking our pets to Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital since 1978 when we first moved from Burlington/Ottawa Ontario to Dartmouth. The care given to our pets by the veterinarians, staff at the front desk and technicians has been exemplary.
This was a follow-up visit (check-up on injury to ensure was improving), the doctor was very helpful, explained what was needed, and answered all questions I had.
We are always treated very well by staff, as we have an elderly Westie. Dr Robb has been our vet for almost 14 years now.We never feel rushed and we completely value Dr Robb"s opinions and suggestions. I would highly recommend this clinic.
Little expensive, outside area for dogs to go to the bathroom had an overflowing garbage can of dog waste and no bags .
Always a great place to take your pet
I cannot say enough good things about Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital, I will never bring another pet anywhere. The staff on the desk are super helpful and knowledgeable. The vets are amazing. Dr Akerley in particular is wonderful. He’s super compassionate and smart. He gives you as much time as needed to be thorough and never orders unnecessary tests. He always has good, innovative problem solving ideas too. I highly recommend him and the clinic
I've been taking my chihuahua Murphy here since 2013 when we adopted him. The staff here are amazing. They made time to see him last minute a couple of days ago when he wasn't feeling well. Their willingness to help put my mind at ease and was very appreciated. They are caring, kind and professional. Always a wellness follow up phone call after an appointment or procedure and I love that we get e-mailed exam notes after each visit. Thank you for taking good care of Murphy!!
Went in to get an operation for our pup, they were pleasant and helpful in the process. Necessary precautions were taken to ensure our pup was safe at all times and information given to help when they got home. Area was clean and staff friendly.
DVH Treat you and your dog with the upmost care. This our 3rd dog that has used this vet. Dr Robb is great.
After fighting with several veterinary clinics to have my cat checked out due to the severe pain he was in, this location understood the severity of things and took him in without hesitation. Unfortunately, my cat did not make it due to a severely obstructed bladder. The vet who seen him was kind and explained all of my options and the possible outcomes while being mindful of our feelings and explained things so that I could understand fully. Once he was put down her and staff were very sympathetic and offered their condolences. They allowed for a payment arrangement on procedure as we did not have the entire amount at the time. All in all, if you want a place that genuinely cares about the fur babies, I would highly recommend them.
the staff and even the clients they have are so nice I can't even use any words to describe how humble these people are! love Dartmouth vets!
Hector is a senior Wheaten, turning 14 this summer. We're very appreciative of the great care Hector has received here. We know how extraordinarily difficult the pandemic has been for vet hospitals. Somehow the staff at DVH has been able to maintain the outstanding care and communication we've become accustomed to over the years. Our sincere thank you to the entire team for being so compassionate, nimble and organized. You are all great at what you do.
Very vague descriptions of pricing refuse to give me a narrowing price and when compared to other vets was 150% more than the average cost at other veterinary clinics be careful here if you value your hard-earned dollars also lady at reception was very snarky and didn't really want to help me
Always satisfied with the service.
Very nice staff and fast service.
I have been to Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital on Tacoma Dr Dartmouth twice with kitty Cleo and I must say these people are amazing. So helpful, accommodating ,friendly and kind. The veterinary that been looking after kitty , Dr. Morton is so gentle and kind. when she touches kitty's fur to check her, its like she is handling fine crystal . Kitty is so comfortable with Dr. Morton and doesn't seem to mind at all being there. . I am so glad that they have accepted us and that this is our chosen pert care provider. Thank you to Dr Morton and your great staff. Respectfully, Penny Snell
The doctors are ok. The receptionist is like a Sargent Major when you try to leave a message for a doctor to call you. As far as I think we have to explain what we want first.
A very positive experience the staff are very friendly , knowledgeable and helpful. This practice was recommended to us when we first got our dog Pepper and I have not been disappointed with the recommendation.
Amazing vet clinic! Dr. Sarah Jones is the best!
Great atmosphere and staff. Very helpful and patient.
The staff and the Doctors here are top notch. Very attentive and caring. Great service. I wouldnt go anywhere else.
Very caring and sympathetic. Absolutely lovely employees. Would go again and very thankful for their tender care.
All of the technicians and Veterinarians are always great with my cat and dogs. They are very helpful and are able to answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner!
Even during this time of Covid Dartmouth Veterinary had time to start me as a new client . As a new pet owner they were able to answer my questions during the appointment and guide me in the right direction for the health of my new puppy. Nice to know that my puppy will be in good hands for years to come .
My six year old sheltie Riley was diagnosed with a tumor on his back and underwent surgery to remove the growth. Staff was attentive and the followup report with the attending veterinarian was prompt and straight forward. The cost and side effects of further treatment was outlined, giving me a clear choice. I have visited Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital for over 20 years with two dogs and have always found service to be satisfactory. I have confidence that my dog's health will be well looked after.
Called today to book a appointment for my cat and they were able to book one for me within two hours. Amazing. Thank you.
Awesome caregivers! Thank you from Lucy, Linus and Herman :)
I was previously a foster Mom for Good Bones Dog Rescue and took all of my fosters here. They are very professional, caring and we could make appts at last minute to get them. In December I adopted my foster german shepherd Silas and made the decision to stay with Dartmouth Vet. Dr Fraser is very compassionate, easy to talk to and extremely informative. The staff are all excellent from when you walk in the front door to when you are leaving. I would highly recommend Dartmouth Vet!! :)
We have been coming to Dartmouth Vet since 2004. The staff are caring and compassionate and go out of their way to provide the best care for our pets. Dr. Robb and Dr. Ackerley are kind, knowledgeable, and have the animals best interests at heart. We would never consider going anywhere else.
DR FRASER is just the best Vet...not only that..the whole Vet TEAM is awesome..and they seem to truly care about Maude..I know they have lots of Maudes but that's the point ..our critters are all the ONLY CRITTER..at that moment. I know there is a Vet crisis as any Caregiver now including Medical Drs ..I am blessed Maude has Dr Fraser and her Team. I regret Dartmouth Veterinary is probably not taking new patients..get on a waiting list.!!!????
Maddie Girl is my 8 year old Cocker Spaniel; she is a most important family member. As a rescued pet she deserves the very best attention and care. Dr. Cassandra Fraser's care and expertise in looking after her each and every visit is outstanding. Maddie and I are extremely appreciative and grateful for the consistent high quality care received from Dr. Fraser, and Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. Thank you Dr. Fraser, and staff!
Great staff and doctors.
Great people
We have been going to this vet clinic since I was little girl & we took my childhood dog. Now my two cats & dog get treated here. I can alway get an appt within a few days of calling & at the time I need. The staff are always so cheerful & truly love animals.
The best there is. I took so much of their time with all my anxious questions and never felt rushed or hurried. The cared for my cats (and me!) gently and competently.
I have used & really liked this clinic for 20 yrs! I have really liked the vet we see but in the past yr support staff seem to be very uncaring, communicate poorly, & are perhaps a little rude particularly for the last 2 visits ending in confusion & no service today!. I arrived at the clinic after a bazaar battle trying to catch one of my 2 house cats who for some reason decided this was a no go. (very unusual)it took 10 minutes to crate him after he bit me! I arrived a little shaken w one hand still bleeding. I approached the door w a carrier under each arm & there were many signs on the door, one noted that we must call before we could get in! NO ONE told me this when they called to confirm the previous day! I could see support staff at the desk as I dropped one of the carriers, dug for my phone in my bag, hung from my neck. NOT ONE PERSON came near the door. When I got my phone out I was so frustrated I decided to cancel the appointment; I had had enough nonsense. I identified myself & put one of my cats back in the car as someone came to the door saying, “We can see you now” and I said, “Forget it. I need to find another clinic; this is ridiculous. Please send their records.” I noted that I was experiencing a panic attack & returned to my car, in tears, to settle myself & my cats. Obviously no one had the common sense to look at the schedule when a senior citizen arrived w two small carriers. Perhaps they could have braved the door & called out for a name! The records arrived 2 hrs later! Very unprofessional, profound lack of communication, & lack of caring. Those who own the clinic should know about this.
They were great my dog brodie loved meeting the staff
Been going to this clinic for years wonderful caring staff and cannot say enough good things about Dr. Robb. Thank you
they are wonderful to my fur babies! Always a warm welcome by the reception desk, and they are always very attentive with any concerns I mention to them. 10/10 recommend them especially as a new pet owner they always assure my babies are looked after. Thanks again for the awesome service and the outstanding care towards my fur babies its appreciated
Dr. Rob is incredible. Now expanding on this, after having worked with Dr. Fraser - they're both awesome. No one in the world I'd rather have taking care of my dog.
Dr Jones provided very good treatment our golden doodle's, Toby's, ear infection and rash. She is pleasant, she takes the time to ask questions to ensure any concerns are addressed and shows true concern for Toby's well being. Toby is feeling much better. Thanks Dr Jones
Was very impressed with my visit Dr. Akerley.
Great and gentle service with our difficult kitty. Definitely an amazing veterinary staff! Will return for future cat care.
I ❤ Dartmouth Vet! I was in there this morning with my Old English Sheepdog and a Boxer Chihuahua mix and Cass was awesome! My girls were wrangy and wild, and she was nothing but patient and loving to them both. She helped with all of my questions, and at one point she left the room and my dogs were actually whining for her to come back! They are my little demons but I love them, and it's so nice to bring them somewhere with people who clearly love them too!
The Staff do a wonderful job of looking after our pets.
Dr. Robb is a true professional and all the other vets and staff are all incredible. Very welcoming and friendly. Best Vet clinic in Halifax
My 6 year old cat needed surgery to have some of her teeth removed, they split the procedure into two surgeries as their concern was focused on the well being of my cat. I have never felt this comfortable with a veterinary clinic before, and I'm SO thankful for the care and time they took in helping me and my cat. The entire staff is wonderful including admin, the vet techs, and all the veterinarians. I highly recommend the use of their services, and couldn't be more thankful for everything they have done!
Great vet. Compassionate and go out of their way to help. Highly recommend.
Wonderful selfless team, wouldn't take my fur baby Bella anywhere else ????
Absolutely amazing business! Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital has been such a help to us in caring for our new puppy. They are easy to contact and offer plenty of helpful advice to ease the worries of all the weird and wonderful things pups get into! The staff are so kind and genuinely care for the pets that come to them. So happy with our choice of veterinary clinic :)
Wonderful Vets and a great staff that are so helpful.
One thing of the most difficult things is putting your family member at peace, but during a global pandemic is even harder. Our dog summer went here for years and they made our very hard experience easier during the unprecedented time ❤️ She lived a long 15 years due to care we received here :)
Dr. Cassandra Fraser and the Team at the Dartmouth Veterinary Clinic Were super helpful getting me and emergency appoiment for my little guy Rupert. They were super patient and helpful when checking him out, I been going to this veterinary clinic for over 10 year and they have always been so great would highly recommend !
I have taking my pets to this vet for over 20 years! The staff and vets here are fantastic! Always been great to me and my furry friends.
Dr. Robb was very good with our cat Mimsy. My mother was very pleased.
Friendly staff
These people are fur real!!
Awesome vets, technicians and staff. Glory does well here and has gone here most of her 12 years of life--we moved at one point.
As always, Dr. Fraser was wonderful as were the rest of the staff I encountered. The veterinarian genuinely cares about my pets and, just like me, wants them to be healthy, comfortable, and happy. She took time to discuss and address my concerns and I’d never take my furry family members elsewhere. A fabulous team with a focus on professionalism, compassion, and friendliness!
First time going to Dr.Morton. She is amazing. Very kind and willing to answer all my questions. Staff is so very friendly. Thanks so much.
Dedicated life-savers!!! Our beloved cat, Blue-boy, suffers from acute anemia and advanced kidney disease and took a turn for the worse two weeks ago, he began going down hill very quickly. Dr Morton and her team were on it, shifted things around and got us right in to begin steroid and anti-biotic treatments. A few days later, Blue had another episode, this time his skin turned fully yellow in the matter of about two hours-we thought this was it. I called our People at Dartmouth Vet feeling hopeless. They listened to me, through my tears, explain he wouldn’t eat or drink and it must be time to let him go. The team at this business is beyond stretched thin (Presently in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic), everyone is exhausted and terrified from crisis after crisis. They knew our family had accepted that Blue’s time was done. Despite this, the team still conferred and made a plan to supply us -at no cost- with some special anti nausea medicine that had been donated to the clinic. Within a couple hours of taking the meds, he ate! This was a week ago and Since then, has continued to eat and drink, he is functioning now with so much quality of life. He purrs, plays and cuddles. This time Blue has with our family is a gift from Dr Morton and Our People at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. There are no words to express our gratitude but we will never forget this. When we had given up and even Blue had given up, you all refused to quit and now we have our sweet kitty a little longer. We are so grateful. It means the world to us.
All of the staff are exceptional, positive and caring professionals. Dr. Fraser really impressed me. Even during Covid-19 when owners are not able to go inside the clinic I felt assured my pet was in the best hands. She easily explains things to you, is patient with the animals, and is just all around personable and positive. After putting my cat on antibiotics she even called me a week later to see how he was making out with them. Can’t imagine a better place to take your animals!
Thoughtful staff.
I have had a pet since I was on my own and have and will always take my pets here. These awesome people have taken care of pets, seen them through the best and worst of times. The staff are so friendly, so caring, I would never go anywhere else
I have only good things to say about the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. The staff are always pleasant and never rush you no matter how busy. The doctors are caring and patient, you feel secure in knowing they will do everything in their power to help your pet. I would like to thank Dr. Robb and Dr. Akerley for their attention to our Bunny.
I have been dealing with Dartmouth Vet Hospital for years, for several pets over the years. The staff are always so friendly, professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and willing to help. The Dart Vet Hospital did an amazing job (and still continue too) coping and providing fantastic service to their clients during Covid times. I appreciate all that they do.
Very professional and met all COVID 19 requirements. We were very pleased with the detailed report provided for Ophie today as well as follow up plan.
This vet clinic is absolutely amazing! I have a rescue dog that is very nervous of everything and occasionally reacts. The staff are so accommodating and treat us like gold. They go out of their way every time we are there. They have muzzles for you to borrow if needed and you are able to request a female vet if your dog is afraid of men. They are just the best!
Caring and knowledgeable staff. Even when the prognosis is grim.
Great place, great staff,
Vet staff were so kind and went above and beyond for me and my kitty today. From the second I walked in the door they were taking care of me. The lady vet was really nice and went over everything with me. I'm glad I chose Dartmouth Veterinary they give a wonderful experience! Also very close to bus route and coffee :)
Bailey was well behaved and seems to really like Dr. Jones, as was I very pleased with the Dr. She was very informative in all aspects of my concerns. The staff there are absolutely fantastic and very good with my Dog. Overall I would recommend Dartmouth veterinary Hospital, Tacoma drive to anyone looking for a great place to bring their babies. Cathy Bisbee and Bailey : )
Dartmouth vet has the most caring and kind staf
I was very happy with the way they had taken care of Thunder. They didn’t push for treatment. They offered meds to rule out certain things and said they would call the following day to check up on him.
Dr. Akerley was terrific. Explained everything and we felt good about taking our dog home.
Wonderful care for my dog, very thorough and not at all rushed.
We have been dealing with Dartmouth Vet Hospital for 30 years! With a variety of animals (mostly dogs) and have dealt mostly with Dr. McKay, Dr.Robb and most recently Dr. Fraser. They are all AMAZING!!! They care for the animals and their human caregivers. They always follow up when crises arise and always welcome us with a very obvious love and care for the animals. We wouldn't have stuck with them after Dr.McKay retired this past year if we didn't think the excellent care we experienced with him would continue. The administrative staff are great too. You will feel like visiting a best friend when you deal with anyone here.
Puppy had his second vaccinations here. Staff was lovely and puppy was sent home with a toy and leash! so nice
Excellent service , friendly caring staff
The staff and Dr, Robb welcomed newcomer Stevie with genuine affection. She was treated with care and we were provided some great advise on how to best train and care for our newest family member.
Unfortunately this visit with Benet did not go as smoothly as previous visits. Vet care good. But the "technical" stuff...paying my bill, faxing of scripts, etc was disjointed and below standard. The rong scripts were faxed to my pharmacy. I had to call the clinic. I did not receive a copy of his report from the vets. I had to call the clinic. I got a call saying i didn't pay for his rabies vaccine. I called back to pay it and they had no idea what i was talking about. Finally we figured it out. They had forgotten to include it the day i was down with Benet, as i paid my bill that day. I didn't receive a copy of my invoice. Had to call and ask for it. Not my usual experience with Dartmouth Vets. For the first time i felt Ben and i were just another patient. I'm disappointed. And very frustrated.
Everyone that works here is amazing! Our pup gets lots of attention from the ladies :)
As a longstanding customer with multiple dogs over the years I knew this group was professional, concerned and caring. At the end of last year, I went through a tough time with one of my dogs - things were touch and go. As the severity of the problems unfolded, the group really showed their professionalism, care and love. It was obvious it wasn't about money but a real concern for the well-being of the animal. I really felt and feel they always had the well-being of the dog at heart. I am amazingly thankful for everything they did and continue to do. The care, concern and help all staff provided was amazing and I cannot say enough good things about them. From my previous comments, I think that it is obvious that I would unreservedly recommend them.
I have been bringing our cats to the clinic for many years now and have never been disappointed by the professional, high quality care that all of our pets have received.
My sweet girl received such professional help. They are a wonderful team and the care is top notch. Thank-you Dr.C.Fraser, Tracy and the whole staff! ????????
Great experience over the last 12 years with Dr. Robb and his wonderful staff. I am very thankful for their service and wonderful care that they gave my little puppy Gus right to the very end.
Receptionist should give mes to the vet we want to talk to shouldnt have to explain to her why
Very happy with Dr. Fraser and reception staff. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Very knowledgeable and will be bringing Patches back next week - although he probably won't be too happy about it!!!!
My appoint was right on time - no waiting in the waiting room which is great in these COVID times - no excess contact with staff. Vet is very knowledgeable, friendly and my kitty is getting the best care possible. A pleasant experience.
We enjoy bringing our best Pal Tukker to your clinic, but more importantly, Tukker enjoys it as well. We have no problem with getting him in the carrier, and he seems to know he is going to visit his human friends at the Dartmouth Veternary Hospital. All the staff there are so easy to talk to, and you can sense that they all love our pets as much as we do. They are always ready to work with our busy schedules to set up appointments and, are very understanding when unforeseen circumstances arrive when we have to reschedule.
I turned to Dr Fraser and staff at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital for assistance with my elderly cat, who was suddenly limping and in pain. They were quick to advise me not to medicate with ‘in the house’ pain killers. They arranged for an appointment so Dr Fraser could examine him. She prescribed appropriate pain medication and solid advice how to care for our cat…..and will check in 2 weeks. How much more thoughtful caring could one ask for. Thank you.
Great place to take your pets to
This is the first dog we have had that is a patient of Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital .Our experience with the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital has only been with the staff at reception and Dr Casandra Fraser, as our girl Sadie is only about 16 months old. My wife Kelley and I wanted Sadie to be a patient of a reputable veterinary hospital because if god forbid anything serious should happen to her we wanted to know she would get the best care available. We are so happy we have Dr Fraser as Sadie's Vet we trust her judgement and advice 110% and a nicer person could not be found. Dr Fraser never makes you feel like she is in a hurry or your being rushed and has answered any questions with professionalism and honesty, and Sadie loves her too! Any staff on or around the reception counter have always been a pleasure to deal with and it's great the correspondence they provide by e mail concerning anything to do with Sadie.
Shadow was seen for his 6 month check up and monthly injection. They are so good to him. The only problem...I was charged for our visit in November along with this visit, but was reimbursed. This is the 3rd time I have been over charged.
The staff at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital are very helpful and welcoming, and our dog always feels spoiled on his visits. Dr O'Leary is especially great with him, he loves her! 5 stars from both of us :)
My calls were answered quickly. I waited about 20 minutes for my cat to be taken in to see the vet. Dr. O'Leary called me and was very thorough in her explanation of findings from the physical exam. She also explained about the side effects that might occur from the rabies vaccine. The cost was fair. The office has good CoVID precautions in place.
First time with this veterinarian. Dr Rob was amazing with Ruby. Dr Rob explained everything that was being done in a way that I could understand. The other staff awesome and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital to all friends.
Waited 30 min past my appointment time to see the vet. Frustrating as I had to be at work following but i get it. They sometimes get backed up. Vet was great, however there were 3 people working out front. The vet provided my precriptions quickly and moved on to the next patient, but it took another 30 mins to fill it. It was not busy, I was the only person in the waiting room. One person on the phone, one stocking shelves another sitting at a computer, oh and a 4th person off in an office. I suspect that only one of the staff is designated to fill the precriptions, at least I hope this is the case otherwise my prescription sat there for 20 mins. for no reason.. If that is the case why not free her up from reception when a prescription is waiting to be filled. A whole lot of sitting and not much assisting the customers to get out the door. Not great customer service in my opinion.
Have used this Vet Clinic for a number of years. Always fast, friendly service and they genuinely love your pets! Would definitely recommend to anyone!
We had to bring both our cat and our dog to Pet Focus on Tacoma drive over the past few days.We have been very impressed with the whole service from the receptionist, vet tech and the vet. We just made the decision lately to change vet and it certainly was a good one. They take their time. They are pleasant to us and our pets. And I can't believe how good of a report they sent us after. I wish that family doctors would do the same. thank you for your services.
This place has the most caring staff of any Vet, that I have taken my pets to. Proof: a few year ago when my black lab was in distress and couldn’t walk, one of the Vet assistants came in her own car, picked us both up and drove us to the clinic. They were so nice and showed empathy towards me and my dog. He had to be put down. Few days afterwards I got a very nice card from them. They will continue to have my business, as long as I am a pet owner.
These people always make me feel comfortable with all decisions, they are very professional but also very loving and kind to every animal. They try to help as best and as fast as they can. They are very trustworthy and make your fur baby feel comfortable and safe.
Friendly staff, very helpful
Very friendly staff
Very helpful and politw
We have always had great experiences with Dartmouth veterinary hospital and have been going for almost 13 years, friendly and caring staff
A great environment with very pleasant and caring staff. It's now the only veterinary clinic I'll go to. My cat isn't fond of leaving my house, but he warms up to these staff members as if he's always known them.
Was very very happy and will be back next month , thank you all !
I been bring our pets to dartmouth veterinary hospital for the past 25 years. They are very good service to our pets over the years and will be in the future years
Kind. Caring. Knowledgable and good woth my dog. Never wait long at appointments. It's just great.
An excellent clinic with good friendly staff and qualified doctors. We have been trusting them with our dog for seven years! Thank you Dr. Paul Robb ????
Friendly staff, reasonable rates, good veterinarians
We have been going to the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital since 2008 and have never had a complaint. the reception desk ladies are awesome and very professional. I will give a special shoot out to Dr. Ackerley and Dr. Robb. They have both helped us lately with two of cats. I would highly recommend the DVH! Judi Conlon
I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Cassandra Fraser for the past couple of years. She is amazing and genuinely cares about our fur babies. The front desk staff is great as well and always go over and above to make sure you and your pets are well taken care of.
I am thrilled with my experience here. Absolutely top notch. Considering the current climate with Covid, you don't necessarily expect such a warm and inviting visit, but that is exactly what I had. Every person I dealt with was nothing but kind and warm. It was our first time going here and my elderly, little grump of a pug is usually not all too happy about vet visits, but she ran happily to everyone, and was treated like a little queen. Her comfort and ease with them speaks volumes in my opinion. Extremely knowledgeable, professional yet still exuding warmth... Couldn't be happier with this group and I highly recommend them. They don't rush you out the door, answer your questions, and explain things thoroughly, and most importantly treat your floofster with love!!!
They are so friendly there. I have been going there for7 years. Will not change for the world.
Friendly efficient service from people who care.
Staff was very helpful and understanding at our unscheduled appt, made my dog Oscar and I feel much better. The follow up calls i made as a worrying dog mom were recieved with prompt follow up info and additional meds that made the turn for my boy. Usually go to their sister clinic in north end Dartmouth but I'm so grateful that they were able to fit us in at the end of their long day.
Excellent was so relieved Dr. Mike saw Bella when he was so busy.
Very personal and caring, wonderful people
Staff are wonderful and very knowledgeable. I have 3 dogs and wouldn't bring them anywhere else for care. Pricing is reasonable compared to other vet clinics in the city.
After receiving conflicting advice about how best to treat our cat who is suffering from kidney failure complicated by hyperthyroidism and periodontal issues, I knew I needed to make an appointment with Dr. Robb. Dr. Robb had been my Vet for my dog, Murdoch, many years ago (in fact, he actually acquired us from the remarkable Dr. Lloyd), until I left for the Valley to begin my teaching career. Dr. Robb is a remarkable Veterinary Doctor, medically and on a human level. Beyond the skills he brings to the table, which are considerable, Dr. Robb also possesses both calm and empathy, very special abilities that enable him to communicate with clarity, effectiveness, and understanding. Additionally, every person we dealt with at the Hospital was friendly and professional.
This clinic has the worst customer service. Scheduling an appointment is near impossible when you want/need it. Not responsive when you need a prescription filled and follow the 24hour rule. COMPLETELY close down 2 hours before they're supposed to because of an emergency and let no clients know as they're on there way to the clinic. Poor quality, poor values and not professional.
My past experience with the Dartmouth veterinary Hospital has been of great satisifaction Will recommend to all, Yours truly Garfield ,
Friendly and efficient while being very considerate of the pets. My two standard poodle are allowed to go in together for "Moral Support", they are brothers. During Covid they have required several appointments for annual exams etc and we are not permitted to join them inside, so this was a huge support for one another.
If you are a new immigrant and want to find a local veterinary hospital for your pet, this is definitely not the best choice for the following reasons: 1. The waiting time is very long. I waited 23 days to get a spot for my cat. 2. Very poor customer service. From July 31st, their staff directly called me in the morning and told me the appointment time to the day I went to the hospital, I didn’t receive any confirmation email or text reminders from this hospital to confirm my appointment. 3. Uncaring staff. Just like I said, I didn’t receive any confirmation email, but I vaguely remember the date was Aug 23, so I called the hospital to confirm the time. They told me the appointment was in one hour later! So I immediately drove back to downtown Halifax to pick up my cat from where I worked in Bedford, and then drove to this hospital in Dartmouth. I was not familiar with the route, and the sign of this hospital was not very obvious, so I looked it for a while, finally when I brought my cat to the door, the staff rejected me because I was 7 minutes late. I tried to apologize and explain to her that I just knew the appointment time within an hour, me and my cat had been waiting for 23 days, please at least let the doctor take a look. But she didn’t care at all. 4. Ambiguous rhetoric. I think the reason for the late arrival is that I didn’t receive any confirmation emails in advance. When I asked the staff about this, she said because I didn’t leave them my email address. ?? This is so ridiculous! I first applied for an appointment on their webpage filled in all my personal information, and told them my info when they called me for the first time, and they also said they would send it to me later, but they didn’t. I feel so sorry for this hospital. I won’t visit again no matter how perfect medical skills your doctors have. Of course, I know you don’t care about an ordinary customer like me.
First time visit with my 12 week old puppy. Staff are great. Very friendly, professional and you can tell they all love animals. Dr Robb was exceptional. Gave lots of attention to my puppy in examination, gave good advice. We’ll definitely continue here with Max’s care.
Good service
I found a stray kitten and brought her to see the staff at Dartmouth veterinary hospital and they were absolutely wonderful. Comfortable atmosphere which calms you down during a sometimes stressful situation. They took such good care of Kitten who’s been renamed Toothless now, and I will always take her back to this team! Thanks for taking care of my new baby!
We have been using the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital for all the years we have lived in Dartmouth with pets,1985-1997; 2002 to the present. They have been professional, compassionate, supportive, courteous and kind. Whether it was an emergency or a planned procedure, everything was done with the animal's best interests in mind. I do not hestitate to refer friends, family or strangers to this Vet clinic. It has been a year or more since I wrote the above review. My opinion and experience haven't changed. We have a highly excitable, nervous dog, and they have been very caring and compassionate with this difficult patient. They are working with us on every visit to make him comfortable. He may never be an exemplary patient calm client, but they always do their best to have each visit end on a positive note.
I was lucky to be able to take Phoebe into Dartmouth Vet quickly as a result of a cancellation. Phoebe was treated for her issue and the staff were pleasant and very helpful to me. The issue and treatment were explained to me by Dr. O'Leary and a follow up appointment was arranged. I am thankful for their consideration and concern for Phoebe. I would recommend this Vet!
Excellent care for our dog. Very organized, well run office. Compassionate Vet and support staff. Doing a great job with COVID-19 precautions. Thanks for taking such good care of Sparky.
I can't say enough great things about Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital, our regular vet, Dr. Paul Robb, and the other vets and staff at the clinic. Everyone is so kind, caring and professional, and I always know that my dog Millie is in great hands. I'm delighted that we discovered this great veterinary hospital and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a vet. A huge thank you to all of you!
Amazing vet, the staff are friendly and empathetic. Would recommend to all!!!
Great service. Kind people.
I have taken my cats to this veterinary clinic for many years and have always been happy with the quality of care and the friendliness and compassion of the staff. A big thank you to them for taking care of my kitties.
Great service and i love the fact that they follow up with you to see how your pet is doing
In my opinion, a Fantastic vet. I highly recommend dr. Cassandra Fraser or dr. Laura Hartman! I have seen both and they are wonderful. They are both so nice and provide a wealth of information and options for treatment plans. They are honest and don't push uncessary tests or medicine. Its nice to have honest vets who care about animal compassion over corporate profit. My dogs even get excitied to see Dr. Fraser when she opens the exam room door. They make the vet process as stressfree on the dogs as possible. The vet techs are also great and also willing to help out and take a look at your pet for second set of eyes. And front staff at the desk are always so happy.
All Covid rules were followed, and the lady assistants were very helpful. Our dog had a physical exam, all his annual shots, and meds refilled. Follow up will be teeth cleaning in a month. Had a very good conversation with Dr. O'Leary who gave excellent advice. Would highly recommend this Vet Hospital to anyone!
Very compassionate hospital. No pressuring to have unnecessary procedures or medication. Always friendly and very helpful. I'very been taking pets to dartmouth vet hospital for about 8 years and I highly recommend it
Vets and techs are great and really show they love dogs
Great caring vets and staff.
Always a good experience! My older dog was a patient, and now my new puppy is as well! The puppy package makes immunizations affordable for parents, and fun for puppy's. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Just want to take a little time to say A BIG THANK YOU to the staff at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. For taking care our pet Zoey. If you need to take your pet for an emergency this is the place to go. Thanks to everyone who took care of her.
Always attentive and informative. They are nice to my animals.
They are all amazing here
Professional and efficient service! Friendly front desk staff and a welcoming environment.
I have only positive adjectives to describe my satisfaction with Dart. Vet. Hosp. I'm sure Jax (pet cat) was impressed also. It happens DVH is very close to us, but after only two visits, I would highly recommend commuting any distance to use their services. I basically never participate in surveys, but couldn't pass up this one.
I have dealt with DVH for over 30 Yrs. Always the best treatment. Staff are great!
I love coming to this Veterinary Hospital. When I walk into a building, I have immediate trust in the professionals that work there. The staff is always extremely friendly and welcoming. But the most important thing is our Dr. Cassandra Fraser is not just knowledgeable doctor but very caring as well. Her recommendations for my cut are always what he needs and she doesn't upsell unnecessary products, unlike some other vet. hospitals.
I have been using Dartmouth Vet Hospital for years and they have treated my animals and me very good. I would recommend them to anyone. Not only are the doctors great but so is the staff
The lovely team here are always responsive to my calls & inquiries. They are very professional & always make sure to tell me how lovely my pets are (even when they're not, lol). Very highly recommended.
Lovely Vet, the staff are great and knowable. The space is open with waiting room and a store front. They are great at answering phone calls and emails, they also provide specific quotes for procedures. The also have an office kitty which is cute to pet!
I have been using Dartmouth Vet for many years, for all of my pets. I've always found them compassionate, realistic about outcomes, and friendly. They want the best for your fur family!
We have been here a few times with our previous pets, as well as our new kitten and they are amazing!!! All staff from front end to back end are friendly and informative, kind, compassionate and caring. Everything you want in a vet office, Highly recommend!!!
I've been with this vet hospital for 24 years now and only great things to say. The are always compationite as well as knowledgeable. Reasonable in helping to choose best plan of care with a thought also about financial costs. My most recent experience was with my kitty Jingles and we had to put him down as in kidney failure. They were patient and respectful with me and Jingles!!❤️ Thank you. I would highly recommend them !! Linda A.
Wonderful service, great staff.
Our dog has been going to the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital since we moved to Nova Scotia 3 years ago. Our dog is older (16 now) so he is back and forth to the vet's fairly often these days. Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital staff have always been friendly, courteous and helpful. No long delays to see the vet and the doctor has always been patient, kind, caring and thorough. I appreciate receiving copies of the Dr's notes by email so I can always show my husband exactly what was said and how our dog is doing. This is a good veterinary clinic.
I have been bringing all my animals (3 cats and a dog) to this vet clinic for over 20 years. I have always had excellent care from all staff. Our regular vet is Paul Robb, who is an absolutely phenomenal vet. He is kind, knowledgeable, and clearly, loves the animals. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Fraser during my most recent visit with my dog. She was thorough, caring, pleasant and very knowledgeable. The support staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to help. I live in Halifax but would never consider changing vet clinics. It’s well worth the drive across the bridge! Thanks to all staff for the great job!
We are very pleased with the service we have always received from the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. All of the people who work there are very professional, efficient and courteous. They make your pet feel very comfortable with this environment.
Took my oldest cat (19 yrs give or take) in last night due to discomfort in the litter box (she had a bladder infection last fall so wasn't sure if it was connected). We saw Dr. Jones who, as always, was very good. She showed me the Xray, discussed the possible problems and options to resolve them considering her age. Then she called tonight to follow-up and see how my old gal was doing which I truly appreciated.
