Here you have the feddbacks of people like you who are buying the products of Dartmouth SPCA (Veterinarian) in the area close to Nova Scotia (Canada).
At present this firm has a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and the rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is nearly the highest, and it's based on a very large number of reviews, so we can think that the rating is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to place scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

Very helpful and friendly staffs to help us to get our new family member.
Who doesn't like cats and dogs?
I am very unimpressed with this vet. I contacted them for their spray and neuter program for the subsidize rate and sent them a copy of my welfare sheet as prove via email. They scheduled an appointment and I went in. Never once did they discuss price. They took his info and brought him to a different room for the surgery. Then and only then did they tell me it was $224 and when I said i don't have the money they dropped it to $154. Like who takes your dog and then tells you it costs such and such? Why didn't they tell me the cost before booking the appointment? Overall I am not impressed
Awesome
Amazing. Kind and conciderate staff.
I use to walk the dogs when I was younger
I WANT ANOTHER DOG
I adopted my kitty from here and the fact fee was great because he was already neutered and micro chipped and had a clean bill of health.
We have gotten 2older cats from them one finished his life out at our place . The other one is now 6years old and thriving . Friendliest cat ever . Staff kind and very pleasant to deal with
Great place to help find yourself a furry friend. I do wish that they would call at least 1 reference but I did get my bruce from there 2 weeks ago and it was a great experience
We've adopted 2 dogs from them and the experience has been wonderful! Everyone is so caring and helpful. They helped us complete our family, and we will never be able to thank them enough!
Great people. Great animals. I will definitely continue to support this location.

Staff is wonderful clean place
We love our new addition to the family and the staff at SPCA is phenomenal including the volunteers.
Just stopped by to drop off a couple of cat/dog beds and was met with a very lovely and polite woman who was happy to receive the beds one had a cooling system in it and she said it would help with an animal with a high fever never even …
Amazing place. Keep their animals well looked after and very helpfull and friendly staff and workers
We got our two cats from the SPCA some time back and we continue to support them as much as possible. They do really wonderful work here.
Great people
Volunteers and the amazing animals
They do a wonderful thing here to volunteer and find pets good loving forever homes
Everyone was really nice and the animals seem to be well taken care of. It's clear the staff aren't completely familiar with all the animals personalities, but that's to be somewhat expected when so many animals go through their doors everyday. They have standard vaccines and deworming treatments for all the animals and the animal I adopted was microchipped but I'm not sure if that's a standard there as well.
Big hearts strong hearts ????
I recently adopted a cat from the SPCA. They are passionate dedicated people who appreciate the time and support that people bring when they walk the dogs out pet the cats.
We adopted our sweet Bella from Dartmouth spca the best thing we ever did not sure who rescued who though, thank God for the people who really care. And ask for nothing in return
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They really care about the animals.
You can go in and pet the cats and dogs.
Great people amd so caring!! Thank you so much!!
(Translated) There are so many cats, there are not many dogs. (Original) 蛮多猫????的,狗没几条
Staff are incredible! Whether you are looking to volunteer, donate to a great cause, or adopt. My first adopted kitty and I am thrilled beyond belief... They also have a 30 day bring back policy if needed...
Best place to adopt animals! Great team! Good job guys! I’m glad there’s people who care for animals as much as i do if not even more!
They went above and beyond to help us.
I adopted a kitten here back in January, and the process was quick, pleasant, and painless. The staff were very helpful and clearly love their jobs. Facilities are clean, the animals well cared for, and the on-site vet conducts once last check before you leave with your fur baby. All in all I would hightly recommend the SPCA when looking for your next pet!
Great animal shelter very friendly even adopted a cat from here
If you ever need to snuggle 30 different cats, this is the place for you.
They sell cars that are in the worst condition and the illnesses are life threatening too. They misinform you when they are selling cats. They lie about treating them when they are sick. And they don't tell you what you need to know about the illnesses. Plus they do not cover the treatment like they say they do. READ EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM FIRST!
We get our "puppy fix" there on a regular basis. Family field trip destination and one of favorite charities.
Dedicated employees and volunteers who have a passion for helping animals.
I got my best friend there. XoxoX
Awesome place to volunteer. Have been here for 15 years.
I have had nothing but amazing things to say about the SPCA. I moved to Halifax in 2013 and adopted my first two cats in 2014. Each time I went in for adoptions, I was met with high professionalism, and compassion for the animals. My …
Great services
Great staff and it was nice to see people care about our four legged loved oi nes as well as the unfortunate ones that still aren't adopted. Also with the kindness of the SPCA they microchipped and vaccinated mine for free with the spay and nuetering. Thank You
Love this place! Where else could you walk a dog or cuddle kitties? Props to the staff!
Dropped off my dogs things after she passed away. They were having a spay/neuter clinic and adoption drive. I highly recommend getting a pet from here. I will be once I'm ready.
Kind and intelligent staff. They made my wife and I feel very comfortable as we looked at different animals for potential adoption.
Wonderful
Cute lil kitties
They are underfunded and at capacity(even though their Burnside facility is spacious and modern). The staff of the SPCA look like they are run off their feet but yet are courteous, thorough and professional in dealing with the public and especially in taking care of the innocent, helpless, discarded and forgotten of the creatures known to man. And all with the most tender of care. Whether those creatures are furry, feathery or scalely. Clearly the need is there constantly for help and I was very glad that I did.
We love this place.
Loved the vet service the clinic offers
Love this place.
I got my beautiful baby girl Umbra (Jessie, when I adopted her!) from the SPCA in Dartmouth. We had a couple hiccups where two benign lumps in her throat were missed twice. Once they weren’t even noticed, and the second time they told me it …
Helpful staff. Can get busy and not a very big place.
for people that wont to help you are very hard to get a hold of tried for two day to get a hold of them because some one through away a sweet cat and all I need is to fined out how much it would cost to get her all fixed up and you wont pick up the phone I know you are busy but there should be some one there to pickup thank you
I got my cat here...great place!
Support, visit, adopt!
That were very loving and compassionate when I took in the boyfriend's cat to have it put down from old age
Sad and happy at the same time lots of cats to be sold only two dogs left which is good but sad at the same time..
I adopted my cat Ariel from there in May 2010. It was the best 150 I ever spent.
Organizing clean
The wife and I adopted a small dog Yorkie poodle mix. We were very pleased with how we were met and treated when arrived to meet Henry for the first time. And was able to bring him home with us. He has settled in to his new home very …
Amazing establishment, set me up with my little buddy
The spay and neuter clinic is a great service

Very place and real helpful staff and friendly
Had our female cat spayed there last week. Very professional and a low cost surgery.
I adopted my cat Joey from the SPCA in September and it has been the best thing I ever did! There are lots of animals who live with foster families so the actual building isn't too crowded with animals. Plus the benefits to adopting at cat from the shelter are numerous. My Joey was already neutered, microchipped and fully healthy when I picked him up! Plus you get a free vet check up if you book within 2 work days of adopting your new pet.
They find good homes for good boys. You get to come and walk a dog, and the dogs are so well behaved when you do. They make sure you leave with either the right dog, or the dog leaves with the right owner.
Animals in need of a good home
I found my love from there.
This place is really well kept. Staff are super friendly. Everything is organized appropriately. I wish I could take all the animals home!
Horrible experience, very disorganized place. I had put a cat on hold and when I got there they adopted him to someone else.
Great service
The location is terrible. I love this organization but taking their dogs for a walk in an industrial location without much access to grass is tough on my heart!
My Heroes! They really care.
Terrific people ,great pets !
I love pets and the work that this place does for animals. Could ask them to do more. I have had a number of pets from there and they were wonderful. They stayed with me until the passed. Sad but happy to have given them a great home.People said in a reference for me that they wished they could be a pet of mine. That's the way it should be for these poor animals as that is what SPCA does for them. Finding them good homes and making them better prepared for a good home as well as making them healthier. Also I love the fact they do reference checks. However for kitties them seem to have stopped that part. Hope they always do for doggies. I take seniors as they are more expensive as they age and not everyone have the means to do so. I wish CRUELTY towards animals be stopped everywhere.
Love coming here to visit the kitties
Great animal care with helpful staff.
Great friendly staff
They call back quickly when I have questions and they introduced me to my foster dog, making sure she felt comfy with me on her own time.
Adopted cat needed attention ????
Great place to go to adopt, or even just connect with animals! They have open dog walking (most dogs not suitable for walking with children though) and also an open cat room! It's a great place to visit, volunteer at, adopt from, or donate to :)
Gor my kitty from here ...and she was treated very well when she was there
I hesitate to discourage those willing to adopt an animal from a shelter- goodness knows the cats and dogs and rabbits at the SPCA need good homes- but our experience was discouraging. We adopted a 10-week-old kitten, just neutered, from the SPCA in Dartmouth. The following day we learned that he had two undiagnosed infections and that his neuter surgery had come about four months too early, according to our neighbourhood vet. I paid to treat him immediately because I made the commitment to include him in our family no matter what. However, I am disturbed that he was subjected to surgery too early in his life, possibly compromising his health later on. Def caveat emptor.
The only hard part about visiting is that I can't take them all home
Can't wait to adopt! He was cuddling and snuggling as soon as i picked him up! Instantly fell in love
Great place to spend some time meeting adoptable cats and even getting to walk a dog or two. Staff seems friendly, knowledgeable and invested in the well-being of the animals. Adopted my dog from there 2+ years ago, pleasant experience and turned out great.
Great cause
Wish I could take them all home with me
Amazing staff.
Great service, wonderful staff.
Even though my Smokey Bear went to heaven on January 7, and my heart is now broken without my best friend, the staff and vet were amazing with myself, as well with my sweet, sweet boy. God bless them for all they do and kind hearts.
They made some serious color changes and it looks so much better. The staff usually friendly and willing to help and love the animals they come in contact with. I adopted my cat from there 3 years ago and it was the best decision ever.
Always a good time at the spca
Does great thing for pets and spay my cat at a reduced price!
What can i say, i had a dog emergency that involved my golden retriever to get checked by a vet. Called in the morning and was in to be seen later the same day. they took very good care of my dog, they preformed a X-ray and Stool Lab work. They cared more about my pet then what i have to pay. they worked with me on payments on what i can and cant pay. these people care about the animal first before your money. Glad a place like this opened up in Halifax to help people in hard times get help.
Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere
Animal shelter
Very nice staff!
Friendly helpful staff
Adopted my kitten via the cat lounge. My kitten was sick and needed to stay a few weeks at the shelter. He received great care but getting info about what was wrong, what meds he was being given & when he may be able to come home was like pulling teeth. I understand they are very busy but it was hard not knowing anything about what was happening with my pet. Fairly friendly staff when I picked him up but the process was a little rushed and the area cramped, again, they are busy and put the animals above customer service which is fine. Just found the staff a bit more personable and helpful at the city pound where we adopted our dog.
We adopted a kitten about 3 weeks ago. She has a condition that makes her wobble when she walks, plays and eats but we couldnt be happier with her. We knew she was the one the moment we saw her. She's a bundle of energy and sometimes a little monster but shes captured our hearts. Her name was Charlotte but we have since renamed her Ahri.
Mixed feelings
Great spot to adopt a dog or cat in need of a home
The staff was great...my pets did excellent under their care!
They do good work
Hard working group.helps pet owners with animal health.a needed service.
adopted my new beautiful adult cat from here, she is the sweetest girl, the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable i would recommend this place to anyone looking to adopt a new little furbaby. They also give you a free 48 hour Ver visit you take your pet to any place within and they will pay for your visit and any medicine that may need to be prescribed i sadly missed mine due to working doubles :( but overall grear experience.
Excellent caring staff. Please support.
Lack of information re: bonded cats and lack of response to treatment for said animals that hav have been exposed to IVF. ThePowder Small. bag supposed to help the older cat …
Amazing amazing
Great people championing a great cause. Thank you for your hard work , care and compassion.
Very friendly and helpful
Very helpful
Awesome place, they took real good care of my friends kitties when the baster trailer park supervisor had them sent here.
Great place full of caring, passionate people
Wonderful organization!!
A bit underwhelming considering the size of the city. Restricted access to dogs is discouraging and the cats or not given free time outside of their metal enclosures together.
This place is amazing that take good care of there animals
Always caring
Caring & knowledgeable staff.
Just a great team
Great group of staff, doing a great service for the animals.
I can not say enough good about my experience and the staff at the Dartmouth SPCA, they gave me an amazing gift, Freyja 11 weeks ago, what an amazing dog and she means the world to me. She comes to work with me and greets customers every day, a great Ambassador for the SPCA. Thank you so much, I love this girl
Terrible just terrifying.
Loved coming here to walk dogs, pat kittys, something to do when your bored. Plus they enjoy it way more then you do. #1 spit for an animal lover walk as many for how ever long you want, but 1 at a time!
lovely experience here.
Clean and friendly environment.
A very SPECIAL place!
Friendly staff, clean kennels, and inexpensive Spay/Neuter clinic next door!
Very caring staff and volunteers. Made our adoption very easy and stress free.
Staff are friendly and welcoming. Dogs needs come first. And I suspect most of these hard working folk are volunteers
They do a truly wonderful job taking care of the animals, and making sure they're for their forever homes.
Awesome place to volunteer and get a pet. Very knowledgeable + they do their best to ensure it's a good fit. What I didn't know: they have a 30 day "return policy" so if things don't work out you can get a refund or use the adoption fee as a credit towards another pet. There are sooo many advantages getting your pet from the SPCA. If you're looking to get a pet, please consider adopting.
always great to see people help animals
The staff is always friendly and helpful. Animals are well cared for and the facilities are kept very clean. A great organization with wonderful programs that not only help animals, but citizens who need a helping hand. Never let an animal suffer - reach out to an SPCA.
Very friendly staff and the animals are well taken care of.
Amazing all around
Great shelter for animals !!
Please let my DJ out
Great staff. And they dont euthanize
Spca great charity
Kind people very helpful.
Good
Awesome people.
They provided an exemplary foster service for my dog temporarily for a month and a half they treated him amazing and gave him medical Care.I was very lucky and blessed to have had that program available and that they were able to love and care for him temporarily while I couldn't.
I have so much confidence in the care of my chichiuah dogs & kittys the staff are very attentive & informative the prices are very reasonable compared to many Thank you SPCA
Great staff and animals so well behaved
Very nice and clean, staff are helpful
Had to give up cat staff was really understanding and help me with the whole transition
Me and my younger sister go there to volunteer to pet and comfort children and to do fundraisers. The staff are so kind and helpful!
Hughie ???? is fitting in fine.
Great staff and experience!
Very happy with the caring and service they have provided to me
Great place to take your pets. Staff are friendly. Prices are right. We will always be back.
It's nice to be able to help animals.
They were very busy and very helpful im sure that do a lot of good things for the animals that pass through their doors .all I can say is please donate to the SPCA .
They give out kittens. The end.
Put in a complaint about being very concerned about the safety of cats in my building about being abandoned and howling for over a week. I was told it would be looked into and someone would be out and nobody came to check on these cats. On …
Really wish I could rate lower than 1. You have really dropped the ball as an organization for the prevention of cruelty to animals. An owner of a dog you seized that called every day pleading to get information from you about her dog with …
my son adopted a cat from there he had kitty cold sneezing a lot and runy eye he was treated 2 time with no success he actually has gotten worse I took him to my vet who said he needed aggressive treatment this was on Saturday he gave 4 treatments which I payed for my son had the understanding that the spca would cover the cost. I went to Dartmouth today I should add that I tried to call on Saturday no one answered the phone so here is my problem the cat is sick do I let him go until Tuesday long weekend or get the meds with the understanding that the spca would cover the cost. they refused and said that one of the meds was not needed even though the vet said he had to have it they said All we had to do was put him in the shower and that would take care of his eye infection I though the vet probably is trained to treat animals and has gone to school for a long time to be able to do then It was suggested that we could bring the cat back I guess to bring him back to the spca would be better then being with some one who loves him and is very nerves that he might die. I always though that the spca was a place for unwanted pets who were unloved or hurt then the would fine loving forever homes for them . I now have a different opinion of the spca I have dropped off many item at the Dartmouth office many time and have also dropped of at pet value but not any more my son left your office in tears he loves this cat and he doesn't want him to die so I guess to end my story spica doesn't care weir her these anamils live or die as you can tell I am very upset that he was given a sick . I have myself 3 rescues 2 cats and 1 dog who are loved and are well taken care of.
