Let's start by saying that the doctors are amazing, in fact I left a 5-star review last week after my visit for my dog's yearly check up and vaccinations. However, I came back this morning for a technician appointment for a prepaid Bordetella vaccination and unfortunately the experience was not that great. I asked to take a look and trim my dogs nails as well if needed. So for this I was presented with a bill of just over $26 (just for the nail trim). When I expressed my surprise for the price, the girl at the reception told me that on Thursdays they offer the same service for $10. So, why wasn't I informed about this option beforehand? I actually could bring my dog in next Thursday and clearly a nail trim is not an urgent procedure (so much so that the technician mentioned that they trimmed very little). Not a big deal, but I expect a better customer service, also considering that I spent quite a bit at the clinic in the last couple of weeks. Also, when they returned my dog after the nail trim the harness was all in disarray (literally displaced) and fortunately I noticed and fixed it before leaving the clinic. I decided to leave 2 stars instead of just 1only because I respect the doctors.

I feel like this clinic has gone downhill considerably over the last couple of years. I used to love this place, but lately I think the technicians have too much power. There is little to no opportunity to talk to a vet, and my concerns are often dismissed. When I brought my dog for vaccinations I asked if he could be treated for ear mites, but was told to book a separate (expensive) appointment. Additionally my mother was treated very poorly when she brought in our dog for a check up. When he had an eye infection we saw the vet for literally 1 minute and she didn’t even look at his eyes. She just gave us drops and then we were charged $100. I will be bringing my dog to a different vet clinic, which is disappointing since a few years ago I found them to be a very welcoming and compassionate clinic.

Knowledgeable and very friendly vets, Technicians and support staff. Was very busy Saturday and they took time to make an area for us to sit in waiting area that was away from barking dogs and more quiet for our one upset cat. Bandit made herself at home once in vet room and out of her carrier. Up to the sink for a drink and then watched proceedings from the counter. Her Sister had to be pried from her carrier, but Dr Wambolt and tech were both very patient and gentle with them both even with busy day happening outside the doors of the room.

We came to Clayton Park Veterinary Hospital when our dog was nine (he's now 12.5) and it's the best decision we made for his well-being. All of the doctors and staff have been so lovely and accommodating. It's really hard to have an aging dog but Clayton Park makes our visits to the vet more bearable. At our last visit, our dog was having trouble walking on the tile floors and when we were ready to leave, they had found every rug and mat in the hospital and laid out a path to the door. Thank you!

They do $10 nail trimming for cats on Friday afternoon and I usually save my own flesh by bringing my beloved fur ball. Very friendly, gentle staff. The cat doesn’t seem to complain, and was totally calm when he was returned to me after his trim. Your animals are in good hands here :)

I can't say enough about this vet hospital. I have three rescue mastiffs, and two of them are NOT easy to deal with. Everyone at Clayton Park has been wonderful, and Dr. Farrow has gone above and beyond when it comes to taking care of my two big boys. This last experience with my 9 year old man, that does not react well to anyone he doesn't know, went perfectly. No issues, no heightened stress, and a quiet, secluded environment to keep him as calm as possible. I could not ask for a better venture.

All the doctors at Clayton Park are amazing!! I was lucky enough to work with these loving Vets for 4 years. It has been 2 years since I left my CP family but I still love bringing my animals here. Dr. Mackay is an amazing surgeon who will be doing a Cystotomy on my cat Aria next week. She did this same surgery on my dog in 2015. There is noone I trust more than her when it comes to these types of procedures. If Dr. Mackay isn't around and you end up with Dr. A or Dr. Farrow you will not be disappointed. I called 8am this morning I had a puppy In distress. I understand Apts are all booked up. This was a medical emergency. The situation was explained and was told sorry cant help you u bye.. was basically hung up on. So its 1244 and my puppy is in surgery. She almost died.. And I was so very rudly dismissed. Never have I ever gotten such horrid service from you guys. I have highly recommended u to anyone I know due to I use to bring my gliders there all the time and it was amazing. This bunch always seems to make everything better. Recently, I had my cat groomed and sadly during this process, her nail hen been torn from the quick. I called Clayton Park Animal Hospital and as busy as they were on a Saturday, still made time for my fur-baby. They examined her nail, treated it, sent me home with ointment and made us a f/u appt. Before going to CPAH, my experiences with other clinics, left me feeling that the $$$ was more important. This is NOT the case here. They go above and beyond and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Took my cat for his annual appointment. He doesn’t travel well and threw up in the carrier when we arrived. The lady at the desk (they are so helpful and friendly ) took my boy outback and cleaned things up without hesitation! The doctors are also great in there and never oversell stuff or pressure you into things, like at a previous clinic we used. I’d highly recommend this clinic and their staff!

Don't deserve 1 star. My 18 yr old furbaby Lexie was passing away on a Saturday in Jan 2017. I called this vet at 1:45 pm and they close at 2 pm. I live 2 blocks away and asked if they would wait for me to get there as I didn't want her to suffer any pain. They said "NO" Told me to put her out in the snow if she died and call them Monday. A blizzard began that afternoon and I don't drive so couldn't take her to the Animal Hospital. I explained this to them. They could've told me about 24 hours/4PAWS that was closer to home. But didn't. After calling vet after vet I found 4PAWS on my own. CPV Hospital had no compassion but wanted my money on Monday knowing I would most likely (and did) have Lexie cremated..

While caring for a family member's dog this week, I suspected a flea treatment was needed. I stopped into Clayton Park Veterinary Hospital for assistance with this. Although I am not a client, they were so helpful! They patiently worked with "Deke" to weigh him on the scales in spite of his distinct lack of cooperation. I was thrilled when they kindly offered to apply the Advantage treatment for me, knowing it would then be done correctly. The front desk staff were warm, efficient and generous with treats!! Haylee had major dental surgery - Dr Farrow - I am so very happy with all the stall at Clayton Park. I was scared dropping Haylee(greyhound) off for surgery but the staff were very comforting and I felt she was in safe hands. At the end of the day when I picked her up, she was happy, glad to be going home. We had absolutely no complication. Today she was in for her 3 week assessment and my girl had no fears just walked into the office and went right to Dr Farrow like she was visiting a friend. Today was Chance's first visit with Dr Wambolt but we are regulars at this vet practice for a number of years. We followed Dr Ron Abrahams here from Harbour Cities vet in Dartmouth. Our first contact with Dr Abrahams was in 2000 so we have been happy customers for almost 19 years. We credit Dr Abrahams with saving our first dogs life. Chance is our second dog. We have also had 4 cats during this time and they have all been very well looked after mostly by Dr Abrahams but when he has been unavailable we have always been treated very well by the other vets. Todays visit was no exception. We also adopted a rabbit in May 2018 and take him to Dr Farrow. He has a sneezing problem and Dr Farrow was very knowledgeable with how to treat him, how to give him his meds etc. The vet techs on staff and the front desk staff are also exceptional. I have nothing negative I could possibly say about this vet clinic and the staff.

Our first vet. that we had for years at the clinic was Dr. Brown she was fantastic with our very unwell little cat named Ginger. When Dr. Brown had left the clinic I had said to my family wow we will never find someone like her again.Then we met Dr. Wambolt,have you ever met someone in a certain profession and you say wow they were born for that job! Disappointing and terrible. I have had this vet for 2 of my cats. I booked a vaccination for my newly added kitten, it would be his 2nd needle, I spoke to the clinic earlier in the day to confirm the appointment and then they called me back an hour later to do their own confirmation (odd, I know). We drove the 20 minutes to get there and the receptionist came out and said they were sorry but they cant accept us because they cannot give an animal their 1st needle at this point, I said it was his 2nd needle, I told her I explained this on the original call and I am a long time client, she went back in and came out 5 minutes later saying because I didnt have papers to backup that it was his 2nd shot they wont take me. I had some complaint to her and told her to remove me from their client list and they care so much for their clients that she had no problem doing that, great customer care right? If the paperwork is needed then perhaps you should inform your clients of that when the appointment is booked, not after they show up on your doorstep. Try to spin it any way you like, I was treated badly and left to scramble to find another vet

I was thoroughly impressed with the entire staff of this vet in relation to my experience this week. My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and the care Pixie and I received was outstanding. Dr A called me at home with the blood work results and scheduled an appointment the next day. Dr Mackay saw pixie the following day and it is obvious that she cares about the animals I have been bringing him to this vet for almost 11 years and will never turn to another clinic for care. Pixie, Penny(my new kitty) and I thank all of you!

Clayton Park Vet is very good, we took our cats here for 6 years before we moved out of HRM. I recommend Dr. MacKay, she always gave the absolute best care to our kitties for a variety of issues, from simple medications to surgery. Also would recommend Dr. Abrahams. They are both excellent at diagnosing issues and try to offer the best and most cost effective solution. Five Stars to them! I would not recommend Dr. Farrow or Dr. Wambolt - in my opinion they are not as experienced or knowledgable as the aforementioned, and also recommended insanely expensive things that were not needed. The building is always clean and the other staff members are great.

We brought our dog, Swisher, here initially for urinary issues. I was so impressed by how friendly and helpful the staff are here. They diagnosed my dogs problem, made some suggestions, and were not pushy with what I chose to do. They even called a couple weeks later to check up on his wellbeing! We visited the vet again yesterday for our annual shots and was greeted by the same friendly staff. The ladies at the front desk are so organized and can answer any questions regarding appointments, products, and services. Swisher sees Dr. wambolt. She is so good with him! He can be snappy at certain people but she makes him feel safe and we have had nothing but success at both appointments. Besides being good with our dog Dr.Wambolt always debriefs with me in language that is understandable. I always leave this clinic feeling like I got the best care for my dog!

Cars don't need tick protection 30 seconds later she said I could pay for consultation and then they would give cat tick and flee meds. Thank goodness for eBay and more caring vets in New Brunswick who will simply ship you what you want to take care of your cat instead of gouging you for cash.

First visit with my 16 yr.old diabetic baby. All I can say was it was awesome. He has dental issues and has a procedure booked for next week.He had some discomfort so I wanted him checked before the procedure. Everyone was so welcoming ,, even Casey enjoyed the attention, up to a point. He was put on antibiotics and a tooth was pulled out,almost fell out it was so loose.We are home and he is so much better. I am looking forward to the procedure next week and hopefully he will be back to his old self with no pain shortly.Thank you all. Great experience for the first time there. Staff are always nice and vets are wonderfull. Called morning of appointment to see if they would take another one of my dogs in same appointment, very accommodating and flexible. Can't ask for more than that...another thought...I brought my sisters dog in (she was out of town) as she was in distress. My sisters vet, won't mention name, wouldn't take her. I took her to clayton park as an emergency, they brought out a stretcher for her and looked after her. She ended up having a stroke and had to be euthanized in the end but WOW, what a team the way they looked after her and me, thanks Dr. FARROW! We also had taken our lab in last year who also had to be euthenized. Again, what a great team, the way they looked after her and us...it wasn't pretty what we went through. Dr. Wambolt sent us a beautiful hand written condolence letter. I have had to euthenize a few dogs over the years and have never recieved that kind of support from a vet. Three weeks ago, my partner & I said good-bye to our beautiful Portie Diego and the staff at CPVH were so wonderful, kind and respectful. Dr. Abrahams(who is amazing) has been our go-to Doc for the past 18 years so when we made a last-minute emergency appointment, it was a little unsettling that it wouldn't be with him since we knew deep down that we wouldn't be returning home with our boy. We ended up seeing Dr. Wambolt and were so very impressed with how she handled our situation. She, along with two technicians(sorry I can't remember your names) could have not been any more comforting and kind with us and Diego. Your kindness and compassion for animals is unparalleled. We deeply loved Diego and he is greatly missed, but it’s reassuring that we have such kind, considerate and very capable veterinarians and staff to treat our special family members.

We have been taking our dogs to Dr A. forever (i.e. several generations of dogs). We trust him implicitly. He takes time to discuss our animals needs and explains the options very carefully. Then we came to Clayton Park Vet Hospital and for the first few years there, I probably would have given a 4-star review. But we ended up seeing another vet on staff last time (Dr. Farrow) and he won us over completely. I would actually trust Dr. Farrow to make decisions about my dog's health because I believe he would not do anything that wasn't necessary. That's saying a lot.
