Really great dealing with this company and the staff. I have a hypochondriac of a dog, and they dealt with him very well. Really, really happy to have found a great vet for my furry kid. Even when they were busy, they took him in the morning and took care of him when the vet got some free time.

I have been a customer at this vet clinic several times for issues related to my aging cat. Overall I think this clinic does just fine especially if you are there for routine things like rabies shots and check-ups. However I do not believe this is this is the place for you if you have a pet with a more serious condition or perhaps unusual. I am biased because I'm moved to Antigonish from a places that have more selection of clinics and stronger links to university vet hospitals and programs. So by comparison Antigonish Vet Clinic is OK but is not nearly as thorough about diagnoses as I am used to. For a thorough examination or if your pet seems to be experiencing something unusual it is well worth the drive to Pictou Veterinary Clinic on High Street. No disresepect to Antiogonish Vet Clinic. I think they are fine for routine things and I'm glad they're an option.

Wish to thank Dr. Andrew Johnson and everyone at the Antigonish Veterinary Clinic for their assistance with our tiny old Lady, Caitlyn. At 18 years old and only about 3.8 lbs, and I'm sure suffering from ailments related to age and not just her teeth, she was not doing well, was not eating properly, and was losing weight quickly. We made an appointment but it ended up being 3 1/2 weeks away. When we called back saying she was getting worse they made huge efforts to get her in as quickly as possible. When we saw Dr. Johnson he was very gentle with her, very understanding that we didn't want to jump through hoops but just wanted to have her teeth cleaned and checked (an ongoing problem for her since we got her) to try to give her a better chance and more comfort when she tried to eat. He understood, explained the possible complications that could happen with putting her under to check her teeth, and assured us she would not have to be left over night, which we absolutely would not have been able to do to her. He completely understood what we were thinking and why and how we wanted to approach the situation. What he did that day for Caitlyn, cleaned all her teeth and removed 3 in the back that had been chipped and were causing sores, made a huge difference in her very quickly. She began eating again, within what she was able to, her coat became much better and softer again, she even found her voice again and started interacting with us once more. She was always a talkative and very interactive member of the family. Unfortunately, Caitlyn's age and other ailments caught up to her very quickly afterwards, and we had to make quick arrangements 2 1/2 weeks later to have her put to sleep because she was no longer able to eat or drink and keep anything down and we didn't want her to suffer anymore. However, we will happily and gratefully be taking our other and future furry family members to this veterinary clinic from here on in. Thank you so very much to everyone at this clinic, doctors and support staff alike, for all your understanding, caring, compassion, time and efforts, both on ours and our Caitlyn's behalf. We can't thank you enough for what you did for our little one in her times of need. We miss her so very much, but you helped to make what we were trying to do and what we had to do a little bit easier!

The staff are friendly and don’t change much so you can really get to know each other. The front staff are always friendly and courteous. Dr. Pinot and Dr. Johnston are two of the nicest vets you’ll ever meet. They try really hard to make the experience good for both you and your pet. We have taken both of our dogs there multiple times since 2018 and our dogs love going. The vets also are very understanding that some pets (like people) can’t have certain medications and try hard to work around that so your pet gets the best care. They also won’t ply your pet with meds or extras just to pad the bill and the prices are reasonable.

Great staff. They are fantastic with my new puppy and my older dog. They, and everyone else, have a very long wait for vaccination appts. Only concern is that the vet tech didn't understand acute and resulted in misdiagnosis of a partially torn ligament (they had said arthritis or hip dysplasia initially). Vet got it sorted out on the next visit.

We had a very sick 4 year old German Short Haired Pointer taken to this clinic. Andrew was the absolute best person to see her - he was straightforward, to the point and did not hide any possibilities from us. He kept in contact with us through out the 24 hours she was with them, and I'm super happy to say Loki is back to her normal self and thanks Andrew from the bottom of her heart. I would recommend anyone take their fur babies here. They were amazing!

I am so thankful for Dr. Daviau at the Antigonish Vet Clinic. My cat was hit by a car,the impact was to the jaw area. She called every day to give me an update, after 3 days I took her home today. The cat will be on pain meds and I will feed her with a syringe until she is comfortable eating on her own. I am so grateful for all they did. <3

My pup has been going here since I brought her home February 2019, and she’s had nothing but excellent care. I was admittedly worried because I’d “heard things” in town. From what I now understand, those stories are from previous owners. Hazel has had stomach issues from day one and a recent injury, and the care has been A+. This clinic doesn’t just seek money. In fact, they’ve been gracious in not charging excessively for ongoing issues. I’ve had to call the emergency line twice and the triage system is great - both times I’ve been connected to the vet and neither times have I needed to go in - so no unnecessary bills. But most of all, I trust these vets with my pup. I don’t feel any uneasiness when I walk away that she has been given anything but then best these vets can give!

Unless you're pet is in dire need take it to newglasgow. When asked to have my cat of 20 years euthanized as he was now suffering they stated I'd have to wait two days to be seen. I could have taken him in on saturaday for an extra 160 but he wasn't so bad then. They asked his name and seen he hadn't been there since 2015( he was a house cat had a good life) plus what does that matter, .. .he had issues when a younger cat and needed vet care there and special food we bought from them. Long story short they saw I no longer use there vet and were not going to help him. I was taken back at how short they were with us in a time of need simply because we hadn't been there .

My cat, Midnight had some issues and I took him to this clinic and they were very diligent in helping him. I took Midnight back a second time, and unfortunately he passed away on this visit, but I cannot express my gratitude for the care given to Midnight and the kindness I received from Dr. Veinot and the vet techs. It was an awful day and they all made it a little bit easier, they were very patient and caring during a very difficult time for me and my little boy. I absolutely recommend this clinic, especially Dr. Veinot. You can tell she truly cares about your pet's well-being and comfort.

Vets and techs love animals like fur babies! When you see a vet sit down on the ground in the parking lot to take blood from an older dog so the dog doesn't have to move, you know your fur baby will be well taken care of!! Staff are all fantastic.

New to town and cat and dog needed vaccinations and tick treatment. I was provided an appointment quickly and with some extra questions asked, my file was ready when we got there. The Dr was friendly and gentle with the animals. He was informative and explained options and costs. The final bill was reasonable. I will go back again with my pets.

Today, April 22, 2020 at 11:58am I arrived here at the vet clinic to pick up my kids great-grandmother’s cats medicine. When I was knocking on the door, it was not noontime and I knocked a few times until someone come out. The vet clinic knew we where on our way and the medicine was already paid for. So I was pretty upset after driving an hour and thirty minutes to be told by a rude lady that we had to come back in an hour. But yet I was knocking on the door before it was noon and they knew we were coming to get the medicine. She walked away, I went back to the car, it was 12:02. So I went back, knocked, and the second worker, who was younger, was a little bit nicer. I’m glad she understood, but still gave attitude when attitude didn’t need to be there. Is this how they treat people during this coved-19 crisis? When they know you’re on your way to pick up already paid for medicine. I know I’m not taking my cats back to this vet clinic. First visit wasn’t this bad.

Much better than it used to be - younger vets, more staff, good rates. A lot is changing at once, so it's a bit hectic, and communication among staff needs improvement. Once they iron out their systems, it would be great if they had a web page or facebook page - possibly only for clients - with more tips. The cone they gave my Shih Tzu was too small, so he could lick his wound, and rub the cone against it. Only after did they suggest a child's onesie, which works great, and replaces the cone. They could offer cheap ones for sale instead of the cone.

I brought my lil bunny Penelope to this clinic to get spayed. To no fault of the clinic Penelope had a bad reaction to the anesthetic. Luckily for me the vet was very knowledgable and cautious. Due to their diligent observations of Penelope while administering the drugs, they were able to make the call to not proceed with the operation after noticing she was not reacting ideally. A less diligent clinic may not have noticed and would have ended up very poorly for Penelope! I was very nervous in the first place about her surgery and one of the staff members noticed and pulled me aside to ensure I know she was doing ok, which I really appreciated! All in all they made Penelope and I very comfortable. They all clearly love animals and only want whats best for your pet! They also didn't charge me for the anesthetic or anything since the operation wasn't actually done which I appreciated.
