I am new to the area and this place came highly recommended from a family member. I unfortunately had to put my cat who was 19 to sleep due to health issues and was dealt with no compassion or customer service when calling or during drop off. I had tears in my eyes and the young woman on the desk was stone cold and couldn't careless. (She was the one who always answered the phone..she needs yo find a new career.) Due to Covid 19 they only have drop off service which is understandable but I left there more upset in every way then I had arrived. I called once I got home and asked to speak with the owner/manager, I was told she was in surgery and she will call me back. 4 hours later i call back and was told she didnt call me because she didnt know what i wanted. So i explained how everything went with the other coworker and hung up. No call back. I didnt even get a call letting me know if my cat had been put to sleep yet or not so I needed to ask during that phone call. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND GOING TO THIS VET. GO TO ANOTHER ONE. Unless you dont care about compassion, customer service and your pet.

I have had a lot of vets over the years being from the Halifax Regional Municipal area. I am now driving over an hour and a half to save lots of money. The Vet is very in-tune with the animals. She does not overcharge for services and operations. She tends to be able to find the root of the problem and treat it efficiently unlike what I have experienced from other vets. I have 3 Medium/Large Dogs and 3 Cats FYI I highly recommend this hosiptal

Few years back my cat was taken here to be de-clawed and fixed, prices were horrible, and my cat came back tormented, he was very friendly and playful but when we got him back he wouldn't leave his cage unless he needed to use the washroom and could be touched, to this day he hates strangers and hides places and it doesn't help that he has only been there 3 times in 7 years and has the nickname " the Satan cat" when he goes there, he has turned from a kitten that never bit or clawed anyone to vicious and has to be put on anastatic for a simple check up so he doesn't try to attack.

DO NOT GO HERE...Took our cat in to be fixed, ended up paying just over 1300 dollars and had to go to another vet office to make sure that she was treated with any sort of dignity and respect as a result of pure incompitance...to go into detail we were NOT notified before bringing in our cat for her surgery that they had been dealing with alot of very sick animals over the last few weeks and that they were contagious, instead they chose to tell us that there was no sick animals that she could have come into contact with when the vets secretary told us the complete opposite. On Saturday evening we had to call an after hour line to have our kitten looked at because she would not stop vomiting pain meds were given along with an xray and an anti nausea shot...24 hours later she started vomiting again we took her back to the abercrombie vet office where she had her surgery and we were told that they would like to monitor her overnight...to which we were fine with...the next morning I am told that she had spiked a fever and did not eat anything all night, I am told that once again they just want to monitor her no treatment had been given. I then call another vet to seek a second opinion...and I was told to bring her in asap so they can start assesing her properly with blood work, urinalysis, and put her on a iv drip and anti biotics once they find out what exactly is wrong..I then go back to inform the vet of the secondary info i was given and was given nothing but attitude and was told that they want to use iv fluids and blood work as a last resort, I was shocked to hear that and needless to say took our kitten to the east side animal hospital and after 2 days of being in a proper vet clinic and being on anti biotics and a IV drip she is now fine from an infection that she had one hundred percent recieved from the filthy abercrombie animal hospital...do not take your animal to the Abercrombie vet it is sickening to see that they would rather make 150 dollars versus Informing pet owners that there could be a risk of their animal becoming sick because she will be around contagious animals

First off we called to ask if it was possible to bring in our new puppy because we could tell something was wrong with him but it was between paid days and if we could pay then. They agreed so we took our puppy in. Vet looked at the puppy told me nothing was wrong with him and then when we finished requested payment. So I then said about the conversation we had about the payday situation and the vet rudely told me to "just leave then" well our puppy conitued to be distressed so we went to the NGVC and was told that our puppy had Strangles an immune disease in puppies and needed antibiotics immediately and he also had worms. This took the other vet 5 minutes to diagnose. I am absolutely disgusted by the vet service I received at this Vet!! And would not recommend them to Anyone! We had a diagnoses and meds for less money then a visit to tell me my puppy was fine from this Vet!

We moved here from way out west and wanted to find a good vet for our dogs so we took a chance.We brought our dog in last saturday cause she wasnt herselve.Apparently all they did was poke and prod her thats it.They never did xrays or blood work which they should of done.All they did was put her on IV and went home for the night.We got a call sunday morning that she had PASSED away????????????.NO ONE was with her through the night at all.RIDICULOUS.If some one was there through the night with my little girl I know for a fact she be still with us today. Im wondering how many other animals were there through the night with no staff working. We are pretty upset with the situation no staff was working to keep an eye on her.As I said RIDICULOUS. WHY !!!!!

They were very compassionate and accommodating to take my 14 yo cat in as soon as they could as he was suffering, to get him put to sleep and they were great about letting me stay as long as I wanted to say my goodbye's. Highly recommend them.
