When it was time for our Shi-Tzus Tyson and Raja to get their shots and check-ups, we decided to take them to see Dr. Kolhatkar. We were somewhat apprehensive trying a new clinic due to the distance from our home and because we did not have the greatest experience with the previous two. Needless to say, we were extremely pleased with the high-level of attention, promptness and professionalism Dr. Kolhatkar and her team demonstrated during our visit. The clinic is bright, clean and has the latest equipment. We were especially happy with Dr. Kolhatkar's manner with tending to our dogs and discussing their health-care needs and plans with us. Based on our experience, we will be returning for regular visits and grooming. We will definitely recommend York Mills Animal Hospital to our friends, family and anyone else who asks. Thank you again Dr. Kolhatkar and your team, you have restored our faith in veterinary clinics and you have earned two new patients for life!

I was referred here by a shelter after I adopted a cat. The vet I initially saw elsewhere said my cat had really bad stomatitis and would need all his teeth taken out, plus eardrops for an ear infection. But the quote they gave me was quite high. So I called the shelter about it to see if they knew and would cover it, and they said they would through one of their vets. I went to York Mills for a second opinion, and the general vibe was pretty good. Vet was really nice, place was clean, etc. and basically re-confirmed to the shelter the initial diagnosis. Had his teeth scheduled to be taken out same week. I dropped off my cat, was told I'd get a call when he was done (told early afternoon) and he'd be good to go. When I got NO call, I went to the vet and was told by the secretary there was an emergency and he had to be postponed. OK... then why did no one call me? Was it that hectic? So we agreed they could keep him overnight. Next day, I'm waiting for my phone call. No call again. I go in the late afternoon to check. Get lectured by the secretary "You were TOLD it would be DONE early afternoon!". Um... but you screwed up yesterday and didn't call me then either? Then she lectures me about his ears like I'm careless even though I've had him for less than a week. Really turned me off with how careless the secretary lady was. I would have loved to support a vet that works with shelters, but unfortunately, not being notified about surgery stuff really ticks me off. I can't help but feel that maybe it's because I did not pay -- but if they were nice, they would have won a client. I just wanted people to see my bad experience with the service here. Oh and they didn't remove all the teeth, so I had to have the rest taken out, out of pocket. So that was cool.

It's a small place. A little claustrophobic in there. And parking can be super difficult. Not easy access from the road. BUT...the vets are good, so I tolerate it. But location is terrible.

We had to make an emergency appointment with the vet for our foster dog. They were so amazing to deal with over the phone and in person. They truly love animals and care for their well-being. I also overheard people praising them for doing phone consultations so people didn’t have to come in for minor issues! Our dog also was neutered here and they were so flexible with pick up/ drop off times Pro tip: go south on Bayview to get their parking lot

Took my cat to this vet and was took the he needed to be hospitalized or put down. I didn't have the money to put him in the hospital and putting him down wasn't an option so I took my baby home. The doctor told me that I had to make a decision or she was going to call social services for me. I didn't care because I was goin to do all I could for him. I nursed my baby back to health myself, two days later social services was at my door threatening me. After evaluating my cat they saw me was fine and closed the case. Never goin back here again. They made me pay 250.00 for a visit. ????

My dog became unexpectedly ill and York Mills Animal Hospital took him in immediately. Dr. Kolhatkar was wonderful! She thoroughly examined Bowie, diagnosed him and answered all our questions. We were really worried about our old boy, but it was clear that he was in great hands. The clinic and its staff are amazing! It was an impromptu visit but we will be sure to bring Bowie whenever he needs a checkup.

They are only a phone call away for an urgent checkup. The staff are polite, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We mostly see Dr. Eric and are comfortable with all the doctors there. It'll be our place for Benny's care always.

The hospital is amazing!!! we took our 2yrs german shepherd there for regular checks and medical care. Dr amanda and the staff there are wonderful. you can easily tell how much they care and love animals! I highly recommend the hospital!!!

Dr. David Donohue is by far the best Veterinarian I have ever known. He is kind and loving and takes great care to ensure my dogs stay healthy and happy. The staff are always friendly and quick to assist. Keep up the excellent service!

I have been seeing Dr. David and Dr. Grace since I brought my pup home 71/2 years ago. When they joined York Mills Animal Clinic there was no doubt in my mind that I was following them. The whole staff there is wonderful and treat us so well. Most importantly, TBear loves going there. He walks in a happy boy and leaves even happier after receiving TLC and treats! My one year old cat had some urinary issues and Dr. Kwan examined him thoroughly and took the time to discuss all my options with me and to answer my questions. Called me the next morning herself with the test results and again laid out the treatment plan clearly and carefully. The office is clean and the techs are friendly. The price I would call mid-range but definitely reasonable for Toronto and for the level of care they provide. Would definitely recommend this vet :)

My kitty needed a neuter job done. I reached out to York Mills Animal Hospital, Nicole replied back "The approximate cost of the Neuter with possible tooth extraction will cost around $650.00, This includes the Examination, Pre-anesthetic bloodwork, surgery and anesthesia, pain relief, nail trim and tooth extraction." So I take my kitty in for the examination part (or so I thought), and they charged me $100 - they basically told me my cat was healthy. So I ask, is my cat ready to be neutured and what would the updated charges be, they told me $650, I was like, shouldn't the $100 be deducted off the top? Nicole said no, "the new breakdown of the cost is as follows: Neuter, anesthesia, pre-bloods, Pain Relief and Nail Trim" - no mention of pre-neuter exam. I was like why would I pay you $100 dollars for just a "checkup", I thought I paid for a portion of the procedure. I made sure I gave her multiple chances to work it out. Nicole chose to ignore me instead. I called Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital across from Rona, they were clear, concise, explained things to me a lot better, made me feel like a valued customer. Now that is money well spent. Funny thing was I read their Google Reviews before calling them. A good establishment will listen to their customers and set things straight when there's a problem. Unfortunately I didn't get that vibe from Nicole from York Mills Animal Hospital.

Brought my dog in to see Dr. Donahue, it was an amazing experience! He was very good with my dog, and even though we were taking blood and getting him microchipped, the team kept him very happy and he barely batted an eye! My dog almost seemed sad to leave the vet... :) Very experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate team!

If I could give 10 STARS to YM Animal Hospital, I would. Each one of the staff members are incredibly caring, and me and my doggie love them all. We have been with all 4 veterinarians, and each is so smart and good with Cali. The vet techs and the front office staff are equally amazing. Cali greets everyone there as if they are her best friend...even when she is feeling lousy. She just knows they will fix her right up. And my girl has had her fair share of vet visits in her 18 months of life. From needing stitches after getting attacked, to having kennel cough, eye infections, and sensitive stomach and skin...she has been through a lot. But this office is amazing, and we wouldn't bring her anywhere else! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Grace and Dr. David for many many years. They are incredible. Everyone who works there is so good with our dogs (and our cats when we had them). If there is something wrong with your dog they take the time to carefully explain it and do look our for your pets best interests. They are extended family to our dogs and I know my fur baby always loves seeing them - must be those yummy cookies! :) Thank you for always being so great with them!
