We've got the opinions of real people like you who used the services and products of Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in North York (Canada).
To this day the firm has a rating of 4.5 over 5 and that score has been based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings that it reaches is practically the top, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may think that the rating is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put reviews when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Veterinarian.
Attention to detail, politeness, professionalism, reasonable price, knowledgeability, everything you are looking for in a clinic. We found this hospital through google and since they have 5 stars with ravishing reviews we decided to try them out. The reviews were right. From the receptionist, veterinary technicians to the veterinarian, all were fantastic. The other reviewer was right, from the moment you come in, up until you leave you will feel very welcomed. They were all friendly, and the vet answered all our questions and she was very knowledgeable. She spent lots of time with us and she knows cat behaviour very well. Our cat Fitz is a little bit of a problem cat as he has hissy fits in any vet clinic. They handled the situation perfectly. Their services are cheaper compare to our previous vet and they are more hands-on and she only does things only when necessary. Absolutely fantastic service ladies, we couldn't recommend you highly enough.
All of the staff we spoke to were incredibly helpful, nice and knowledgeable. Our cat can be aggressive and they knew just how to deal with him. Our vet was able to give us a couple of different options for how to prepare him for travel and help us come to the best decision. They were also very thorough. Couldn't have been happier with it.
Took our newly rescued dog (Hope) in here for a checkup and also for a further visit when she scratched herself jumping in to some bushes. Everyone was very nice and wanted to come and say hello to Hope, they even came outside as we we're leaving to make sure that everyone got introduced to her properly. They are knowledgeable and I would trust them with any pet that I had!
I recently moved my dog Chewbacca to the Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital and I wish I had moved here sooner! I've been so impressed with the clinic and specifically with Dr. Donna Chui!! An issue I had with my previous vet was that I felt they cared more about the financial gains they could attain through treating my dog and selling procedures vs his personal care and what's best for him/us. Dr. Chui and the staff have been a breath of fresh air and I trust that their opinions and recommendations have Chewie's best interest at heart. Thank you so much for your continued support of our beloved family member.
Absolutely wonderful experience! Just as the luck would have it, I had to return to their office practically back to back with one dog with corneal ulcers and my second dog who did a number on her armpit tearing it open. The attention to detail, the care itself, appropriate referrals, the follow ups, thorough exams and extensive education regarding care- all were above and beyond my expectations! I cannot thank the team enough! Staff are very knowledgeable, caring and patient (this extends to overly worried owners when emotions run high) :) thank you to all of you!
I brought my friend’s cat, Max, to the vet cuz he was vomiting. Everyone was really nice and Max received a really decent check on his health. He has recovered after the vet has suggested a different diet.
Under unfortunate circumstances, we fortunately found Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital, after our beloved 16-year old Belle was diagnosed with advanced kidney disease. We made the agonizing decision to put her to sleep but her condition deteriorated so rapidly that we knew we couldn't wait to go to our regular vet clinic who had seen her since she was 12 weeks old. We absolutely 'lucked out' when we found YSAH. From the first call (on a Sunday morning) speaking with Grace, to Rosie the tech who did the initial check, and of course Dr. Hamilton, all showed instant, genuine caring and compassion and took the time to fully explain every step involved. Words really can't express the appreciation we have for the staff. We would definitely not hesitate to recommend them. And thank you all for the nice card we received today !
Amazing staff and excellent service. Have received nothing but support and genuine care from here following rescuing two cats. The doctors and techs knowledgeable and friendly. The reception staff are also amazingly friendly and have always set the right expectations for me.
I booked an appointment yesterday, and I specifically said "it's for cat body exam." Today, I take my cat there and they just said "the doctor said you booked the appointment for x-ray." That's your false to remember what i need. And you keep telling me "you can do the x-ray" . Which means that they force me to do it. I DO NOT need X-ray for my cat!Now my cat keep bleeding, i am going to find another animal hospital. And i will not come here forever. Bad experience.
We travelled to this North Toronto clinic from downtown because they were the only one in the city with extended hours who were willing to help us get care for a stray cat who had been visiting us nightly. When he showed up at 8 pm on a rainy night and went peacefully into a carrier, we made that long drive to Yonge and Sheppard. We were so impressed by the care and professionalism with which our little alleycat friend was treated there! If this practice were located closer to our home, we could use it on a regular basis. As it stands, it is great to know that they have such wonderful vets and staff, extended hours, and parking (which own wonderful downtown clinic doesn't have). If you live in the vicinity, this is the vet practice to use. Highly recommended!!!!
Very friendly and patient staffs. Had a great experience here. Thank you for still giving my cat a body check even when he is scared and denfensive. I will definitely calm him down with pills next time!
I can't say enough about how much I love this clinic. After seeing three other vets without any results, I ended up at YSAH with two very sick kittens. Dr. Beauchamp and the rest of the doctors and staff helped me nurse them back to health - which is, of course, their job, but what was amazing is how much they went above and beyond the expected level of attention and care. I marvel at the level of service they provided. I almost hesitate to detail some of the things they did to help me because it all seemed so "extra" that I don't want to commit them to doing that for everyone, but I really think they would, because they care that much. So many reviews here say that they make clients feel like family, and I hate to sound like a broken record, but they really do. I hope nobody ever has a pet sick enough that they end up meeting every single staff member here like I did, but if you do, rest assured they are all fabulous, caring, and will do whatever they possibly can to help.
I called n said my boy Tucker was very sick n he was dieing n ask a appointment to Help him go to Heaven . You gave me a 7/7:30pm appointment.. I called you back about half hour later,to let you know he wouldnt make it to 7pm. By this time it was around 1pm . I asked if I could bring he in right away cause my boy was suffering n I was told I had to bring him in a 7pm. But the time I found a vet I could take him to right away . my sweet boy layed in my arms in pain n he died. I don't want to discuss this any further. My boy is in peace up in Heaven with his sister my lovely daughter who died last year. She I know is taking care of our lovely boy. So please I don't want to hear anything anymore from you.
Always have had a great experience going to this vet. Have only ever gone during the restrictions of covid-19 and so they have drop off service and take good care of my puppy while she is with them. The process is easy and they call you with updates on the examination and are great with answering all questions. It's easy with the parking lot to the side and the pricing is pretty comparable with other Toronto vets, not the cheapest, but you know your pets in good hands. They do have reduced examination rates when you are doing puppy visits for all their first shots which was great. Would recommend
By far the best animal clinic I have come to for any of my pets--past and present. The care they take with my puppy has always made him incredibly comfortable and in fact, happy to make his visits. They take the time for personalized calls to check up on my puppy after each visit and vaccination/procedure and visits are highly efficient and pleasant. All costs are also incredibly reasonable and well communicated. My puppy was recently neutered, and, although I am not a vet, my job entails delivering surgical procedures and taking care of wounds on humans. Both my wife and I have never seen such a clean and expertly performed incision, on animals or humans. I am very impressed.
A wonderful experience! I'm a first-time cat owner and I had a lot of questions. With COVID restrictions, I couldn't meet the vet in-person, but I got a call before they saw my cat asking what I needed, I got a call after the exam where I could ask a billion questions, then another call when my cat was ready to be picked up. Staff was friendly and caring and my cat was very comfortable around them (even demanding cuddles!) To top it all off, I got an email with answers to a lot of my questions on it! Absolutely great experience, I can't thank them enough.
They are always closed whenever they want and that’s why appointments are delayed all the time! So I am going to stop and change my veterinarian!
Visited the place for rabies shot and left with sour taste. Very rude receptionist insisted a medical exam is a must in order to receive the vaccine. I said no not just because our dog was healthy as ever, but also because we had this very medical exam done at this very place just merely six weeks ago. I didn’t want to pay $80 for another needless two-minute procedure just to be told that everything is fine. The receptionist still insisted that we need the medical exam and after me repeatedly saying no she resorted to lying straight to our faces that medical exam is the law in Ontario and they cannot vaccinate without thoroughly inspecting dog’s health first. That’s not true and I made her see that I am not buying into her lies, yet she kept going. Because we are originally not from Canada, we are automatically stupid, right? Thus, can be lied to? Fast forward a technician comes and starts doing medical exam. At this point I am disappointed and feel totally ignored and just bit my tongue. My wife is a very sensitive and pet loving person and I did not want to see her all stressed over this incident, so I said nothing, sat in a corner and went through this money grab nonsense silently. Then paid the bill and left the place with a new scar on my tongue. Also, in all fairness, I must say that the vet as a person is brilliant and you can see he genuinely loves his work and is very good with dogs, so kudos to him. It is just the place and the whole experience that stinks.
This Vet location is awesome! Just recently switch over from a different quack of a vet. This place shows quality, service, and experience. Great first impression! Keep up the good work! I forgot our vets name at this location but it was a woman with blond hair. She actually educated us on why we needed certain things for my dog. It was clear and she didnt go around our questions. They make great recommendations. Completely Satisfied and I highly recommend this clinic. If you love your animals as much as I do with mine go and visit them and see the difference.
One of the best services I have ever gotten (that includes any industry)!! The staff is patient, they are attentive and most importantly, they treat your puppy like their own family member! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I honestly recommend this place. I had to bring my cat to this clinic when she got sick and they treated us the best way I could only imagine. All staff at this clinic is really loving animals and willing to help them. Unfortunately our story didn't have a happy end, but everyone at the clinic made sure to give us the news in the softest way. By my experience I really recommend this clinic and I wish to all pets to be healthy, happy and have a wonderful long life.
Nice, clean clinic. All staff there are super helpful with great “bedside manner”. Every person at reception I’ve ever spoken to has been kind and helpful when I call countless times worrying about my new puppy. Vet tech I met during the meet and greet gave us great advice and insights into puppy parenting. And of course, Dr. Hamilton was so sweet with Butters during his first exam and was so patient with answering all our questions.
All vets are very friendly! my cats, Misty and Cinder got the vaccine in the first visiting. Doctor Donna and Claire are very knowledgeable and professional. All staff are very nice. they taught me how to make a good relationship with the cats and told me about the cats' behavour. it's really helpful! Two days later, I got a calling from clinic asking how Misty and Cinder feel after the shots. Thank you!
I have been bringing my gsd here since he was about 10 weeks old. All the staff are great and are always very patient with all my questions in regards to my dog Milo. Recently Milo had surgery here (neutered and hernia) and I was very satisfied with everything! I would recommend Dr. Beauchamp.
Came to Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital after having a subpar experience at another vet in the area. The receptionist was very friendly! The vet tech who saw us was also very friendly and did an initial assessment prior to the Dr seeing us. I personally liked having this as it gave us a chance to have more than one pair of eyes on our pup. We came in for an initial assessment but also because our puppy was a little more lethargic and eating less compared to the week before. The vet tech Daniela (I think was her name) was super nice and professional. Next we saw Dr. Hamilton who treated our puppy so gently and did a very thorough examination explaining what he was seeing/checking for. This gave my husband and I reassurance that a proper assessment was being done. He also provided some education for us and wasn’t pushy in anyway. Although the clinic was a tad more assessment than our previous, it’s still quite affordable and well worth the money to ensure high quality care! We will be taking our dog here and would definitely recommend them to a friend! PS there is a 24 hour cancellation fee if notice not given so just a heads up! Doesn’t affect the awesome care though
I would have given this team of veterinary professionals 10 stars if I could. We had the best experience with our kitten's neutering surgery, from the first phone call to get info to the minute we picked him up after surgery. Everything was explained in detail, I could definitely feel that our baby boy was being genuinely cared for and the fees were also very reasonable considering the quality of the service. Thank you everyone, from the bottom of our hearts! ❤
Our poodle, Milo, has gotten two surgeries here (neutering, hernia) as well as many check ups and shots since he was a baby. Dr. Claire and Kimberly, along with all the front desk workers are truly a pleasure. If you want to take your pet to a place where they treat them like their own family, I highly recommend Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital.
It was my first time bringing my dog to emerge and I was really scared. The staff was great and I would have given 5 stars but that day they were short staff and I ended up waiting 3-4hours in my car. Luckily mine wasn't as serious. I hope they can get more staff in as I saw many worried pawrents come in and I can only imagine the stress of the wait time adding to an already emotional day.
I'm so glad I live as close as I do to this animal hospital. We took our 8.5-week-old puppy for her first appointment here, and everyone from the front desk staff to the nurse to the veterinarian made our puppy and us feel so at ease. Highly recommend.
My dog hurt his neck and was not able to turn his head towards the left at all. We took him in and Dr. Chui checked on him between appointments. She was so thorough and patient, answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. We were very worried but we felt so much better after she provided all the details. My dog was given some medication and he stated feeling better the next day. The front desk staff, Jordan and Adam, are all super friendly and patient as well. I was panicking but I felt I could trust them to take good care of my fur baby, and they definitely did! They also followed up twice within a week to see how he was recovering. They really do care! Thank you all so so much!! Highly recommend them to any body who needs to find a professional, friendly, reasonably priced and trustworthy vet!!!
Thank you for accepting me and my cat Rambo last week !! You have great service, very attended and tidy staff, the Dr. Kethees was very professional, polite and attentive, gave a lot af god recomendations about weight control and overall keep good health for geriatric cat. Thanks a lot !!!
I really really like the staff here. I felt so comfortable with the doctor, she really took the time to explain everything and didn't made me feel rushed at all when explaining my dogs issues. She was also very well spoken and had an in depth understanding of every health element relating to my dog (so many issues are only symptomatic, and so many issies are overlapping) I also heard some staff in the back room, while I was in an exam room waiting, and they were sweetly talking to the dogs and being very genuine, sweet, and playful with the animals in their care. You can tell that they have a passion for animals and that really shows. I will not hesitage to recommend this animal hospital to anyone and everyone with a pet. Thank you for taking care of my furry friend!
Very friendly staff. Efficient drop off and pick up. Clear communication of appointment details and tips for keeping your pet healthy.
I haven’t been able to bring my Pomsky puppy in yet but definitely will once he’s due for his next round of vaccinations. Special shoutout to Kimberly for being fantastic and taking a second to answer some of my stirring questions over the phone. I can already tell this place goes above and beyond! Your animals are in great hands here.
Last night I brought in my sick cat. I usually go to another vet in the area that is open late but decided to try this place instead. From the moment I walked in the door I knew I made the right decision. My cat is an old man and has recurring issues, and every time I've had to take him to the vet it breaks my heart and I end up in tears. Last night Dr. Beauchamp rid me of any anxiety. By the end of the evening I knew my cat was hurting, but that they were taking great care of him. You can tell the staff here genuinely care for the animal, not for the dollar amount on your bill. They even called me after they had closed to let me know that he was okay, and he had started eating. It brings a lot of peace of mind knowing that I have their services so close to home. I haven't even brought my cat home yet but I was so impressed with all they did for me and him. April 2018: I've been to this vet so many times, the front desk girls shout "Monty!" When I come in with a carrier. Just wanted to update and say that with repeated visits my faith in this veterinary crew has only grown stronger. Dr. Hamilton, a newer addition to the team, and Dr. Chui have been amazing. I recommend this vet to everyone I know with pets because their care has been consistently great.
The experience with Yonge Sheppard Animal was really wonderful! Everyone working here is caring, professional and knowledgeable. My cat Cheshire couldn't stop vomiting last Thursday. It's really difficult to find animal hospitals with availability these days, most of the time they would just tell you they are fully booked and ask you to go to an emergency hosiptal. But when I called, Rosie was super sweet! She gave me some tips to soothe Cheshire's stomach, and helped me leave a msg for the technicians in case they are available. After I took Cheshire to an emergency clinic, he still didn't feel well and refused to eat the next day. I called here again to ask when the next available appointment could be, Dr Beauchamp offered me a visit here on the same day! She was very patient and informative, gave a Cheshire a complete checkup and answered all my questions with details. She also called me on her dayoff to explain Cheshire's bloodtest results, and gave me more tricks to encourge him to eat. Cheshire slowly picked up his regular diet now and is getting back to his naughty behaviours. Thank you guys again! Amazing team!
I took my cat there for examination and vaccination. Dr. Hamilton and all the staffs there are very welcoming and professional. The clinic is very clean. Dr. Hamilton treated my cat in a very gentle manner and answered all my questions patiently. This is my first time visiting this animal hospital and it is the best one i have ever been. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to find a responsible vet for their pet.
We took our dog in for a regular check up, his shots and some special treatment for his eyes. Dr. Hamilton and all the staff were caring and efficient. They discussed all treatments with us and didn't try to up-sell us (which was an issue at another clinic). We got a referral to a specialist and the treatments were a reasonable price. We felt very comfortable with Dr. Hamilton and we'll take our dog back for his next check up.
First time Vet visit with my cat. Loved them. They handled everything perfectly. My cat was also calm and not scared being with them. The vet Dr. Chui was amazing and very helpful. Definitely would recommend.
Took my kitty there to get neutered. Claire and Donna were so clear, so friendly, so professional, and treated me like a valued customer. The vet and techs made sure I understood everthing, the cost breakdown was all laid out. From billing to procedure requirements, Five Stars! I got the same vibes I get from dealing with Amazon or RBC customer service, yes, they're that good IMO. I do recommend them, I will go back to them as long as they keep doing what they're doing. Keep up the great work ladies! Jeff
God forbid my dog runs out of her medication on a friday because I cant even get through to speaking with someone until Monday. Such unprofessional staff (aside from a couple). Of all the animal hospitals i have been to, this is the least reliable and professional. and who was the unprofessional receptionist who kept talking over me while i was upset? tell her to be quiet for a second and listen. she did everything to escalate my anger.
Fantastic people, amazing vet. So glad to have found this incredible place
We were thrilled to find Dr. Hamilton and the team at Yonge Sheppard. He is a wonderful vet and our dog and cat respond extremely well to him. The only reason this is not a five star review is because the last couple of times, the receptionist seemed disorganized and last time we were there she left us waiting around for over 20 minutes after our appointment. I would advise anyone going to this vet to see Dr. Hamilton because every time we have been to see him, it has been great!
Great vet! Friendliest of staff and they take such good care of our dog. Always willing to answer questions over the phone and help out in any way. Wouldn’t take him anywhere else!
This hospital is very caring and compassionate. When I lost my cat they were quick to respond and put his poster up and send me a card after he had passed. Jordan is eager to help and quick to suggest alternative food options and help with getting my order through.

Took my (large and senior) dog who was having stomach issues, he received a checkup, meds and a change of diet, and was back to be fine in couple days. Doctor followed up next day with results of lab. Absolutely everybody I interacted with was so professional and nice to me and my dog. In addition to that, I've asked for general advise on different occasions and always got a helpful answer. I can see that this is more than a job for the personnel of this clinic, they love animals. I'm so glad I found this place and I would recommend it to anyone.
To all the staff at Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital - THANK YOU! To Dr Chui, you are an outstanding veterinarian. My six week old kitten was literally on the brink. She came to us with roundworms, diarrhea, vomiting, tummy pain, wasn't eat at all, and overall in trouble. Despite two attempts to help my kitty out with another vet (that was available on Saturday), no luck, kitten was still on the brink after seeing him. As soon as we could get an appointment with YSAH and let Dr Chui diagnose the issues, she's now eating and playing like a little champ - same day, I kid you not!
Helped me with first deworming pill before the check time is done felt really warm.
Had initial sticker shock with some prices, but hey it’s vet care and it’s Toronto. Really nice people. Much better than Willowdale Animal hospital. Keep up the good work!
I can’t say enough good things about the vets and the staff at this clinic. Over the years we brought our wonderful yellow lab Luna there for all sorts of treatments and as she aged these appointments became more frequent. No matter who we spoke to, from the staff at reception, to the techs, to any of the vets, we were always met with caring professionals. They make every effort to squeeze in appts, never keep you waiting long and are always thorough. Luna was treated by both Dr. Chui & Dr. Beauchamp and we always felt that she got the best treatment no matter who she saw. Dr. Beauchamp was our primary care vet and recently when it came to say goodbye to our girl she was there to help us through the process. She really is an amazing vet and caring person and we consider ourselves lucky to have found her and this wonderful clinic.
I booked an appointment yesterday, and I specifically said "it's for cat body exam." Today, I take my cat there and they just said "the doctor said you booked the appointment for x-ray." That's your false to remember what i need. And you keep telling me "you can do the x-ray" . I DO NOT need X-ray for my cat!Now my cat keep bleeding, i am going to find another animal hospital. And i will not come here forever. Bad experience.
I was quite disappointed when it was my dog’s first visit to this clinic on a Sunday for an emergency breathing problem. I was instead being referred to go to a nearby clinic with bad rating. Having moved to North York recently and thinking to have this vet clinic as my pets’ regular, we are not welcome. “Our mission.....compassionate....”?
Dr. Beauchamp is one of the most caring and compassionate vets I have ever met. They take excellent care of our two cats and dog. Couldn't ask for a better clinic! A++
My dog Lucky is really lucky to have found Dr. Hamilton to be his new vet. The initial exam and vaccination were as stress free as possible. Dr. Hamilton is knowledgeable and kind, he definitely cares for animals' well being. I appreciate the clinic makes everything as straight forward as possible, from receptionist to technician and doctor. It is a wonderful animal hospital. Cant wait to have Lucky's teeth cleaned next week.
Just moved to the area and needed a vet. Found this place on Google, and choose it based on the previous reviews. I was not disappointed. Hands down the best Vet I've every visited. Dr. Hong was amazing and very honest. All employees here are very nice and you can tell they all really care about your pet and their wellness. I will absolutely be coming here again should I need Vet services in the future. Pricing was very reasonable.
I'm a long time client of YSAH, why you ask? Read on my friend...Dr Chui, Dr Chui, Dr Chui. The best vet I've ever had the pleasure to deal with. She cares so much, she has a lot of attention to detail, she explains things so well, she listens and responds, she doesn't rush, she is very well versed with the natural whole food therapy approach to healing (most vets are not). Dr Chui won't try to offer procedures that are unnecessary, she gave me examples to help me understand the situation, she does follow-ups with me, she will educate me on what kind of books to read, photocopy recipes, she'll try to make time for my last minute appointments (even if they are all booked up). She offers various possible solutions. I've never had any vet offer this degree of customer service. Dr Chui, if you're reading this - you rock! Keep it up!
My cats got the care that they needed. After going to another vet, I reallized we were sold somethings that we didn't need. To be fair it was our decision at the end of the day. It was nice that they're available at different times of the day that an ordinary vet isnt. Especially if you have cats, the less people the better and we were able to go even on a working day. If your on a budget you may want to do some research, otherwise the quality of care is pretty good here.

They really care about your pet. Would recommend them to any pet lover.
I am happy to find good vet finally!!!My puppy got spray here. Good service and our dog is healthy! Thank you so much.
I came this morning to the clinic to take a prescription for my dog ( i am a member at the clinic) the rude and unprofessional stuff and very gridi they whant to charge me for that as a visit to the clinic!!! 80$ in a pandemic when people lose they’re jobs!!!! Again to print a paper for 80$ !!!! Never come to this place again and don’t recommend to others especially for new clients they will leave yours pockets empty!!!
Well intentioned but if your pet has a complicated diagnosis this may not be the place. I was very pleased before with Dr. Hamilton but he left and likely due to being short-handed one Vet and COVID, things were not smooth during my cat's illness. While front desk were always polite, calls/emails at times took few days to be returned which is so difficult when your pet is unwell. I appreciated being squeezed in when my cat stopped eating and the Vet called on her own time with results of diagnostic tests but hearing that no solution could be offered put me between a rock and a hard place. Surgery to remove the bladder stone was mentioned, with an estimate of $3000. I sought a phone consult with a highly recommended out-of-town Vet who explained the (limited) options and risks and did not recommend the surgery. I had been dealing with urination outside the box since I adopted her last April and she was also very difficult to medicate. For 2 months I was tried different meds and food and I felt it was too late to go elsewhere. My last call the Vet no longer supported euthanasia and preferred I give my pet to a shelter. I already knew shelters weren't likely to take a sick cat and had been told the stress would be considerable at 10 years old and unfair. In the end I had to call another Vet in the area who was understanding and gave me an appointment the same day. I hope once Yonge Sheppard replaces Dr. Hamilton things will improve. My cat's condition was a complex one and I didn't get what I needed at this clinic.
I had to bring my sick cat to be euthanized but me and my cat had to wait outside in the cold for a very long time (they should consider putting seats or a bench outside during covid as there is nowhere to sit and wait, they should also make exceptions for when pet owners can wait indoors). The experience with Dr. Claire was very humane. She talked me thru the steps and was very sympathetic towards the whole procedure. Even tho the situation was very emotional and heart breaking, the staff did everything they could to make it a little more comfortable. Thank you.
The staffs are really considerate and friendly. Our dog and kitten enjoyed their time here. Sharp purred a lot even he didn’t wanna to be neuter. The follow-up and reminders are prompt. Highly recommend
Here's my response: I called to inquire about this vet office. I asked a simple question that the first two employees tried to answer but there was clearly a lack of knowledge on their part. The third person who picked up the phone didn't try to understand what I was looking for and basically told me to find another vet office. She was unprofessional and quite rude. Piece of advice: It's not just the"listed clients" you should only worry about - You should treat your "potential customers" with as much respect! The customer journey doesn't start with the first appointment! You made me wait for 20 minutes making me think you could accommodate my needs then just to tell me to find something else in the end (one more time in a very rude way and not trying to understand what my needs were).
Fantastic animal hospital! We took our cat in on a Saturday half an hour before they were supposed to close, because we were worried he wasn't acting quite himself. Dr. Chui looked him over and identified that he had a urine blockage! She saved his life. They were supposed to close, but they took him in immediately for treatment. Dr.Chui was very forthcoming about the cost, and tried to keep costs low for us. They gave us the option of transferring our cat to a 24 hr clinic for constant monitoring or leaving him with them. Since his prognosis looked good, Dr.Chui said it would probably be okay if we left him at Yonge Sheppard, and we did (and saved probably 2000 dollars!). They didn't suggest any unnecessary and extensive tests like they do in some other clinics *ahem* (willowdale) They had a technician visit him every evening way after hours (around 11pm) to make sure he was okay, to give him his medication, and to give us a call to tell us how he was doing! They were really open and encouraging about visitation. Everyone I talked to there was super nice and competent, and if you give them a call they actually answer questions and give advice, unlike a lot of other clinics. Fantastic all around!
I first came about this place when my sister brought her dog here to get neutered, she later recommended me here when I got my puppy and I am so glad I took her advice! This place is always so prompt with responses and takes time to answer alllll my questions (which is a lot as a new dog mom). They’re very kind to all the animals they take care of and I can tell with how they treat Bear that they all love what they’re doing. They always try their hardest to accommodate and I love how they answer any questions you may have through email, health related or not. All of the Vet’s are excellent as well as the vet techs and receptionists. Overall I cant recommend this place enough I am so glad I found them. Their professionalism, knowledge within their field, and kindness is what makes this place one of the best vets in Toronto.
I've brought my puppy, Gnocchi, here for his vaccinations and they seem to make him feel extremely comfortable! He's always excited to see the people who work here. Vets are very patient, informative and willing to answer any questions. They also reply to emails very quickly. I would definitely recommend this place :)
This clinic (and its sister clinic at Laird Eglinton) is awesome-- everyone there is so welcoming and accommodating. I originally took my 17 year old cat to Laird Eglinton (where we also boarded her for two nights-- which is great if you want to make sure your fur baby is being monitored and loved while you're away) after learning via reviews both places were great, and they really are. We were introduced to Dr. Chui who clearly has a lot of knowledge and experience, and who was very empathetic and understanding toward any concerns regarding expenses. She is the kind of vet who will recommend certain tests only if she sees them as necessary and will admit if a certain test might reveal a certain result but won't really change how to approach your fur baby's situation (so to not make you feel bad if you decide not to do said test), if that makes sense. She provides detailed explanations/reasons for each test she recommends, while also taking into consideration how your fur baby might respond to having to come in each time (especially with a cat). Interestingly, I went looking for an animal hospital nearby our new place to purchase special food for my cat and found the Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital. I learned that the same doctors from Laird also work there! And Yonge Sheppard is literally a 2 minute drive, so it's great for my cat. They just opened in August. Honestly, I feel relieved that we not only have a place so close to us, but vets and techs who genuinely care about their patients' wellbeings and who also don't push you to do anything. Dr. Chui is very honest and I trust her judgement on my beautiful girl Cheeky until its time to let her go. They are also very responsive and helpful with any questions. Anyone in these areas should seek these hospitals out. They care.
Outstanding experience with Dr Chui. I'm honestly not sure why the reviews aren't higher. I am extremely picky with who I choose to care for my puppy and the entire staff exceeded my expectations! Dr. Chui was very personable, extremely informative and most importantly - did not rush us through the appointment. She addressed every concern with compassion and you can tell she really loves caring for animals. So happy to have found this Vet and Dr. Chui!
I've been to a few place's in the area for my dog and none of them are as nice as this one, They gave me a few discounts when i needed it the most, they gave me a detailed estimate for things, The people at the desk are very nice and easy to talk to. the doctor was very kind as well. Overall I am happy i took my pup to them.
I highly recommended this vet. Dr. Beauchamp is very kind and compassionate. She devoted lots of time to answer all my questions and address all of my concerns. Her explanations were very easy to understand and she really helped put my fears at rest.
been taking my dog here for a little while. For small and minor problems their prices are reasonable, but once I got into a major problem the prices inflated for no reason and I never understood what I was being charged for. They were not cooperative with me and didn't explain what their plan of action was. Instead I felt like I was rushed into making a decision and it was a very stressful time for me because I was worried about my doggie. I don't feel comfortable at this animal hospital anymore because it just seemed like they were fishing for a way to take my money and jack up the prices.
This is a review for their front desk reception. This was my second time visiting the clinic with my cat and it is such an ordeal every time to get my kitty to leave the house. I was finally able to get her out of the house for our annual visit in time for our scheduled appointment, but because of all the stress, she had an ”accident” all over my clothes right before getting into the car. I had to run back into the house and change/clean up. I ended running late by only 10-15 minutes. I know it was my fault for being late, but I was just hoping for a sliver of compassion. When I arrived, they greeted me by turning me away and saying we had to reschedule. The clinic didn’t even seem to be busy as they had just finished with another customer. After all that trouble to get there, they still had the nerve to turn me away?!! No thank you.. I won’t be rescheduling or returning in the near future. This place has no qualms in wasting your precious time and leaving your pet feeling stressed out for no reason. I hope to find another vet that is more flexible and truly understanding, not just one that fakes a smile and doesn’t want to make any effort to accommodate. It’s a shame because the vets and clinical staff seem warm, friendly, and knowledgeable.
Please spend some time and read my story before taking your pet to this clinic: Sophie is my 3 year old cat. I used to take her to this clinic since she was just 8 weeks. Few weeks ago, she got fever with lack of appetite, noisy breathing and painful eyes. She was admitted to the clinic on Thursday. They put her through multiple tests, they charged me for about $800 and asked me to take her to the clinic for another test on Friday. On Friday, they charged me for another $400 told me they didn’t get the results and couldn’t find the source of fever and I should wait till Monday! I asked for support during weekend in case she got worse, they said they were not working during weekend and I should take her to the emergency clinics if it's needed !!! (And you all know how much it costs if you take your pet there) During the weekend I had a chance to talk to another vet oversea and he said right away that Sophie had “respiratory infection”, which is a common disease among cats. He said most of those tests were unnecessary, specifically “UTI test” is painful for cats. He recommended me denying anymore tests and asking them to start antibiotics. On Monday the clinic told me all tests results were negative and they needed Sophie for CPR test which means I should pay another $300. I told them no more tests and to start antibiotics. No need to say after three doses of antibiotics, Sophie showed improvement and in 3-4 days she got back to normal. Here are my points: 1- Poor diagnose, started from the most unlikely diseases rather than starting with the most common disease 2- Unnecessary communication, her doctor called me several times and bombarded me with all medical terms that I had zero knowledge and kept asking me if I agreed with this or that test. I had no choice but saying do whatever it’s needed. I just trusted them, which was a big mistake 3- Not caring about the pet, put Sophie under a lot of painful and unnecessary tests, not considered that she had fever. Denied starting medication after even 5 days and asking for more tests!!! 4- Not supportive, left me alone during weekend with zero support 5- Not loyal, after talking with their manager, she just said they understood my frustration however I could take Sophie to another Clinic. I’ve told her I keep the right to put my feedback on social media All they care it’s money, they don’t care about you or your pet
Do not allow these people to vaccinate your dog. Last week, these people administered a cripplinngly painful set of vaccines to my 12 week old puppy. At first she was lethargic and slept. About two hours later the poor thing was shrieking in pain. I have never seen a puppy in that kind of pain in my life and I have raised two other dogs over the past 14 years. The poor puppy was shaking, shrieking in pain and there was nothing we could do. She couldn’t even sit down, we thought we were going to lose her. It broke our hearts to put her into a crate but we had no choice - she had to go to a 24 hour vet. The poor dog cried her heart out as we put her in the crate - she was so overwhelmed she threw up in the car on the way to the VEC emergency clinic. At the VEC, the emergency veterinarian had to urgently inject our puppy several times to counteract the bad vaccines improperly administered by this clinic. Our puppy was prescribed opiate pain killers, medication to continue to counteract the bad and improperly administered vaccines as well as pedilite to help rehydrate her. After almost 3 days of constant monitoring and administration of several medications, our puppy looks like she is going to pull through. We contacted this vet on Sunday and were told the vet was sorry and would cover the almost 300$ emergency vet bill. We received a call today from another vet at this clinic telling us the bill was our problem. The vet even went as far as to say that the emergency vet was a close personal friend of hers and that she received a text message about the condition of our puppy even before we contacted them about the emergency. We feel lied to and taken advantage of by this vet. This vet upsold unnecessary injections, improperly administered those injections and went back on its commitment to cover the costs of its malfeasance! We are shocked and outraged by this vet’s behaviour. They have added insult to injury by lying to us. Remember, there is a reason this vet asks to take your pet “into the back” before they administer an injection.
Came to this hospital since I saw the good reviews it had and it was very close by. I am very pleased with the service they provided. The hospital was very transparent in their costs and provided me realistic options on which route to pursue. I also really appreciated the follow up call to make sure my cat was doing okay. Definitely bringing my other pets here!
Can't think of any way things could have been better. Super helpful staff and so friendly and understanding. Took amazing care of Bluey and could not be happier. Thank you so much
If I could give them more stars I would. Hands down the best Animal Hospital in Toronto. All of the Vets are genuinely invested in helping your pets. There are many Animal Hospitals that are much closer to where I live but I came here because of all the great reviews. All the Vets/Vet-techs treated Momo with such care and affection. I really appreciated the time they took to speak with me and really make me feel comfortable before/after my dog's surgery. Myself and Momo are so grateful to the Yonge Sheppard Animal Hospital!!
My husband and I are new puppy owner and our experience on taking our frenchie puppy Hamlet for his wellness exam and vaccinations has been phenomenal! They even did follow up calls to see how Hamlets doing after his vaccinations. Dr. Beauchamp and other staffs at this clinic are very accomodating, patient and professional. They answer all our questions in kindly manner. We will be taking our little guy for his neutering in couple of month! Highly recommend:)
I would just like to thank Dr. Beauchamp for her thorough diagnostic of our precious kitty and the time she spent trying to help our furry one with her hip dysplasia and luxating knee. Dr. Beauchamp took the time out of her day to answer questions and help us obtain an orthopaedic surgeon to complete this complex surgery. This clinic is one of the best in the area would highly recommend.
