No one likes to have to bring their beloved pet to an emergancy hospital, during COVID it’s even worse. Nonetheless, when our cat was experiencing renal problems and needed IV fluids, but had to be monitored due to her heart murmur, our vet suggested Toronto Animal Health Services. Due to COVId, we parked and someone came out to take our cat - asking questions and taking her personal effects which we wanted in the cage with her, if possible. We were nervous about how we would communicate with the doctors but within an hour someone called us to let us know their initial results and plan of attack. They were also careful to let our vet know beforehand to tell us what the estimated cost for the entire stay would be. Throughout her three day stay they called us twice daily to give us updates and always asked for permission before administering any drugs. We were able to ask any questions we had, the doctors always patient with us. My only suggestion would be not to call pet parents super late - our 2nd update call happened at 1am - as it’s a deeply scary situation since you immediately jump to conclusions. Otherwise, a great experience and we will be using them from now on.

Thank you to Dr. Laura Tindal (emerg doc) who diagnosed our dog patchy patch with a uterine infection pyometrea requiring emergency surgery. Thank you to Dr. Lea Mehrkens and surgical team for doing the life saving surgery. You are all angels. Patchy patch is happy, active and eating lots. The regular updates from the team has put the whole family at ease and reassured us our dog was in the right hands. The discharge summary and meds she went home with were easy to follow and very informative. I don’t know what would happen if we went elsewhere. We will see you soon for her post op appointment.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Reynolds!! We were referred to her by our normal vet for a lump that my Great Dane had on his face. She was great and not pushy. She explained everything and what to expect. She ended up performing a maxillectomy on him and did an absolutely outstanding job! We were literally shocked at how amazing he looked afterwards! Thank you so much for taking such great care of him!

Our dog had severe life threatening allergic reaction. Called and asked for emergency service, and we were denied it over the phone.

Wow thank you all so much for taking care of my sick kitty cat. AMAZING communication and I am blown away by the kindness shown. Thank you all so much!

I’m so pleased with this animal hospital. I brought my cat in early Saturday after seeing her normal vet on Friday. She was lethargic, vomiting, feverish. They figured out the issue within an hour of admitting her. The amount of updates I had over the 2 days she was there were so reassuring. I was updated 3-4 times a day by her doctors and could call at any time to check with her technicians. Every single person I dealt with was professional, compassionate, thorough, and gentle. You can tell they really love animals. They also respected my severely impacted financial situation and gave me numerous options for treatment and honest opinions of outcomes. Even while I was sobbing my heart out on my couch and fearing for the worst, I felt she was in the absolute best place for her. I was able to bring my girl home today and she is VASTLY improved. A new cat again. We have a follow up in 5 days and fingers crossed that she continues in this direction. Also a nice touch is a heated portable outside and a Port-a-Potty if you don’t have a car to wait in. At my normal vet I paced outside in the cold for 2 hours, and here the wait was much more comfortable.

I have a 3 year old French bulldog named Lola who had gotten scared and jumped off the bed only to become paralyzed in her hind legs and neck. We rushed her to this hospital because a friend of mine works here and recommended it. Lola was seen the next day by a neurologist, Dr.Little who had informed my family that Lola had a huge cyst on her neck which was compressing her spinal cord. That same day Dr.Little performed the surgery to remove the mass. I am crying as I am writing this because the compassion that the staff showed not only my furbaby but others who came in and left as we waited was immeasurable. They put me and my family at easy about leaving her in their care for multiple days (they gave us daily updates on her recovery) and they helped through the fear we had of her diagnosis. I will forever be grateful to Dr.Little and her entire team for helping my little one.

Our 3-year old Havanese with a severe case of Lepto was referred by our vet to Toronto Animal Health Partners three weeks ago. Her situation was grave upon admission, and our family cannot thank them enough for saving her life after two weeks of treatment. The entire staff was exceptional throughout the entire process - the Doctors, techs and front desk were all compassionate, honest, and provided daily communication/updates. Our dog is now recovering at home and are hopeful for a full recovery. Thanks again to everyone for all their efforts and care!

My small dog somehow managed to grab a box of chocolate off the kitchen table, and she ate 100g late on a Friday evening. As soon as I realized what happened I started making calls. I hadn't heard of this place, but the 2 places that are closer to me weren't able to see us. I got the TAHP info from the 2nd place I tried. TAHP took us right away, for which I was very grateful as the best chance we had was if vomiting could be induced asap - which they did successfully. A few hours later she got an anti-nauseant and activated charcoal. My dog didn't have any symptoms on admission, but the because it was such a toxic dose for her size they were on the fence about recommending her to go home. The quote to admit her for observation was quite high, so given the absence of any symptoms I decided to bring her home and monitor overnight with the option to come back if she became symptomatic. All in it was $320 for an after-hours emergency trip to the vet, and more importantly my dog never developed even mild symptoms. She's totally fine. Very grateful this place was there for us.

Thanks for saving our dog! can't be more grateful to the whole staff. You are doing wonderful job.

I called about a raccoon and they were very helpful in advising me what to do.

The most incredible vet experience I've ever had. We travelled over 30 minutes here in the middle of the night and although our baby was fine, the trip was well worth it. Everyone was amazing and we learned so much.

I had a terrifying and emotional day with sudden news of my very sick cat. The whole team at Toronto Animal Health Partners were very kind, fast acting, knowledgeable, clear with the whole scope of information and supportive. In an emergency, and one that could have ended badly, sometimes people remove their kindness and just get to business, but not the team here. I don’t know how they do what they do every single day, but heaven knows I am grateful for them and saving my cats life, to give me a little more time with him. Although what my cat has isn’t curable I know how to manage it properly and effectively thanks to the team at Toronto Animal Health Partners.

Very expensive just to exam 10 week old kitten for my daughter cost was just over $200 and they were still not sure what the problem may be. For that i would they would need to do blood work and that with the exam would put me $500 in the hole without any meds. Meds would be extra. Could not believe the outrageous price but was in need of help and my kitten is still sick.

We brought our cat in when he was lathargic and stopped having bowel movements. The team was not only attentive but took Apollo in right away on one of the hottest day of the year. We were glad he didn't have to sit in the car. We were grateful for everyone's compassion, care and kindness.

They have the best staff ever, very compassionate, friendly and helpful. We as a family were going through tough times regarding an issue that happened to our sweet dog Coco. I spoke with Gina on the phone and I was very emotional. She went out of her way to assist me and try her best to help us. I really appreciate the effort she has given. I salute her.

We can’t thank Dr Greg Kilburn enough for saving our cat Delilah’s life. He was so compassionate, professional and thorough. He personally made all the calls to us with updates (3 or 4 each day), explaining in detail, all the information we needed every step of the way. He also encouraged and was very patient with questions. We had taken Delilah to Uxbridge Veterinarian Hospital several times over the period of a week and they could not determine what was wrong though she grew sicker each day. They referred us over to Dr Kilburn for an emergency MRI and other testing. Dr Kilburn ran multiple tests including the MRI all within 24 hours - we were SO grateful! After 2 days we got the great news that she was stable and we could bring her home with medications. From the intake during covid, to the staff that called to spend time going through each line of the estimate for her procedures, to the anesthesia team, Dr Kilburn and other support staff, the whole process and experience was incredible! The caring individuals that work in this hospital clearly love animals and are exactly where they should be, doing what they do so brilliantly! You do go through a triage-like process if you arrive without a referral, but this is as it should be with the sickest animals being cared for first. All emergency veterinarian clinics are expensive, but I can confidently say that the money you spend here on your pet, buys you the best possible care you will receive anywhere. Thank you Dr Kilburn and team :). We are so very grateful to you!

Young cat was acting lethargic and throwing up. Came here with concern of cat having ingested a foreign object. Waited over 2 hours in parking for doctor to be available. Not sure how my cat was stored for that time, but nonetheless stressful. Would have preferred cat to stay with us until doctor became available. They called us after 2 hours recommending that cat be monitored overnight incase of anything - $2800 - possible virus or organ failure. We decided against it obviously. I'm sure the cat would prefer our company rather than their facility, for the meantime. Consult ER $145, Emergency Fee $72. All we recieved was an anti nausea, dewormer, subcutaneous fluid administration (for maintained hydration). Super thorough preventative measures! $370 later and not even an X Ray or anything that addressed our initial concern of foreign object. We even cited a previous instance where the cat has injested foreign objects. Im no dr. But an X ray seems like a safe place to start. Next day, cat has regained appetite and appears to have had a minor cold or flu - regaining playfulness and standard behaviours. We still have to get him to our family vet to ensure his health is looked after appropriately. This vet will expand all opportunities to charge for unnecessary (but overly thorough and cautious) procedures. If you will spare any expense to ensure your pet will be okay, than this is the vet for you :) I prefer calculated measures and deductive reasoning. Upon conclusion, I politely asked if the discharge included a detailed receipt, to a "no....." without following up. They didn't offer one until prompted. "May I have one please?" - yes we can email you one.

My dog was attacked by a beaver, and had a dozen of punctured wounds. I am very happy that they saved my dog’s life. They did a great job flushing the wounds to make sure there’s no bacteria. It is not a 5-star review because for one, they did not give my dog enough injection to ease his pain after surgery. My dog came home at night, and was in so much pain he stood up all night. He could not lay down at all. He was in so much pain and I could not do anything help. They also wrapped him with a very uncomfortable bandage which caused him unable to pee properly. I called them for advice, and was told to give him more sedating pills that don’t work. I was also told to ignore him and go to bed. Second, I called again, and unfortunately, an older woman on the line was extremely rude. She had no sympathy for my dog that he was in such pain. He was standing for so many hours that his paws were swollen! She refused to have a vet to speak to me. I asked her, “maybe there is some other medication or injections he needs?” Her answer was, “sounds like you know already what to do then you don’t need us” (with attitude). I had to hang up on her, and call again to get someone else. How can you talk to someone like that when they are concerned about their dog right after surgery? The next day, I brought my dog back to my own vet. They immediately gave him some injections to put him to sleep and to ease his pain. I was told they did not give him enough injections at all. My vet also took off that bandage, and gave him a comfortable gown instead. This has caused not just my dog in pain all night standing up, but also a sleepless night for us. Once again, I am grateful that they saved his life. I just hope they were a little more sensitive to their pain and comfort. However, the woman on the phone I really have no comment.

Verý professional care to pets through 24/7 Emergency Care, and Specialists offering for example advanced investigations, treatments, and surgeries. During COVID times once you've contacted reception by phone to register your pet, a vet tech comes out to parking lot to take pet in carrier or on leash inside. The vet will contact you by phone with updates and get additional information. He/or She wiill advise you of estimated range of associated costs and get your consent on items. I had experience with AHP last Dec. with a now deceased pet. She got the best of care and everyone was very compassionate and supportive when I left with an empty cat carrier. I very highly recommend this facility. Especially if the pet needs treatment over night. Most "regular" vets would go home at night & a vet tech might come in once to assess, then pets are alone until staff come in morning. My regular vet does give you option to take pet to an emergency hospital. I hope for my new pet's sake we will be content in knowing such a great place exists, and be able to keep healthy.

I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital. Our dog Bruno had a horrible accident when he ran into a tree branch, fell and dislocated his right hip and needed surgery to correct it. The next day, after going to different vets, we brought him to Animal Health Partners. The receptionists and doctors were all extremely bubbly, friendly, helpful and kind. They told us what our surgery options were and guided us through the procedure. After he had his surgery, Bruno recovered extremely well and is living a normal life now! Thank you to all the doctors at Animal Health Partners that made this possible! I am forever grateful that you guys were able to help our dog, Bruno!

Slow services and keep you waiting forever.

Dr Biskup met my puppy for our surgery consult today. Speaking to him, I can tell how much he cares for his patients and what a great DVM he is. He really took the time to explain everything to me and to ensure he had answered all my questions. All the staff I have met at the clinic so far have been lovely.

My cat Samson was not diagnosed properly despite having issues with breathing and swallowing for over a month. This is what brought us to Animal Health Partners on the Canada Day weekend. From the moment we stepped in the door we were treated with respect and care. Andrea came out to triage our little guy and the other technicians were helpful in getting him to eat. Dr. Alex was outstanding with her compassion and willingness to hand feed Samson as he couldn't breathe or swallow very well. We're so delighted with the care which began with reception and are happy that Samson is making a strong recovery! Thanks AHP for your quick response, personal care and attention. Dr. Alex even followed up with a phone call. MOST APPRECIATED!

There is a woman working there wos name I didnt get but I hope this message reaches her somehow and everyone in this establishment. Her kindness and empathy is immeasurable. This was my first experience with this clinic, and honestly, you guys should be humbled and proud to have someone working there with that sort of compassion. She understood where I was coming from as a pet owner. Thanks for all that you guys do <3

We thank all the Veterinary Doctors and staff at Toronto Animal Health Partners for the care of our two puppies. One of the puppies came home and is strong and growing. Sadly, the other puppy struggled and moved into te ICU where she was well looked after before she succumbed to parvovirus. We appreciate all that was done to care for the puppies and to support us with clear communication and kindness. .

I had to bring my dog in the other day and Animal Health Partners could not have been better. All of the staff I interacted with were pleasant and made me feel that my dog was in good hands. The vet made sure to go over all of the options with me as well as the respective prices and aided me in making an informed decision as to any further steps. I received a very thorough explanation of the medication and steps for the next few days when I picked her up. If I'm ever in need of an emergency vet again I would definitely come here again.

I have frequented a handful of veterinarian's, specialists and surgeons from Arizona to Illinois up through Ontario over 23 yrs of pet ownership. My experience has me believing while the majority are great veterinarians, their are many who have no hesitation in taking advantage of our emotional bond and dedication to our pets wellbeing. Dr Greg Kilburn, veterinarian neurologist, is not one of them. His extremely thorough evaluation and in depth investigation to Kyla's complex medical history and seizure like symptoms, left me knowing their was no better place to have brought my little girl. She lived her last 8 months seizure free. Unfortunately, she had more pressing matters of kidney and degenerative hip disease. There are pets and then their creatures of kindled spirit for which our lives are entangled. We feel their pain and their joy as if it were our own. So When the bad days out weigh the good, and their spirit is no longer vibrant, we must send them off with our final gift of peace. Released from their pain.

My dog Charlie came down with a "fever of unknown origin" and was getting more and more lethargic and out-of-it by the day. By the time I took him in, he had a 104-degree fever, wasn't eating and was barely moving. Our community vet was completely stumped after a fortune spent on tests. Toronto Animal Health Partners not only cracked the case in 24 hours, they were ALL possibly some of the nicest people i've ever met. From the lovely lady at reception (Keisha maybe?) who calmed me down and reassured me when I first called in, to the technician, the doctors and the owner, Scott. Not a single bad thing to say about these guys. Specialty care is always going to be expensive but i never once felt i was being taken advantage of. Go here.

Ron Burling

Professional and responsive. My daughter's dog had a smooth experience with this animal hospital.

From start to finish, the staff here were incredibly friendly and made the whole process less stressful. Thank you!

Being that its an emergency hospital and that my cat was cared for on a holiday, it was obviously quite pricey. That said however, the compassion I felt from everyone I had to speak to, from the doctors to the receptionists, I knew my cat would be in very good hands. The receptionists were very caring and responsive. I was really worried my cat would need surgery but the vets were confident and clear about the low risk of complication that would come out of a non-surgical alternative. They gave me an estimate for how much I should expect to pay, ranging on how complicated/severe it could get. The only weird part was paying a deposit 50% of the higher end of the estimate and pre-authorizing the full payment on your card. But, I guess I'll just need to monitor my account to ensure they billed me according to the final statement. Very very happy with the treatment my kitty got, and the helpfulness of this team. Thank you AHP!

***5 stars for Dr. Biskup! I contacted AHP when I found out my 12 year old dog Axel had been diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumour. I was not familiar with this cancer, but I was told Axel’s best bet would be to have surgery and have the cancer removed. Dr. Jeffery Biskup took Axel’s case and provided the best care, not only for Axel but towards me as well as a traumatized pet owner. Dr. Biskup was very patient and answered all my questions, and went into detail to explain Axel’s case thoroughly. He gave me options and his knowledge and expertise really gave me comfort and confidence that Axel was in good hands. Axel has a grade 3 heart murmur and was assessed (Echocardiogram) by Dr.Lichtenburger prior to surgery. His surgery went smoothly and it’s been 3 weeks since his tumour was removed and I’m so grateful to say that Axel is cancer free. He’s back to his energetic and rambunctious self! I highly recommend Dr. Biskup and his team(Amanda & Brenda). They were all so lovely through this difficult process. Thank you all again❤️

State of the art vet facility for your emergency and specialist needs. Friendly staff and great parking!

Our pup was in a terrible accident and almost died. We had to bring her in, in the middle of the night. The team was great at making us feel comfortable, and relaxed, during such a stressful time. Our pup stayed there in the ICU for multiple days, and was given the best care. We could call in and get updates, ask questions and visit her. She then had multiple surgeries with Dr. Reynolds who is FANTASTIC!! One of the hardest working doctors I’ve ever seen! She is so nice and caring, willing to answer any questions, and she is super confident and knowledgeable about everything. My pup still gets excited when she gets to see Dr. Reynolds. I couldn’t recommend Animal Health Partners more. Prices are very reasonable, and you can tell ALL the staff are really passionate, love and care for animals.

We waited hours to be seen... Once seen, they ran another x-ray because, and I quote (the x-ray that our regular vet did, was not good enough), IV saline for fluids ekg and etc. After waiting at least 4 hours the vet told us the exact same thing the first vet told us... That they weren’t sure and listed every possible issue under the sun. Then they wanted to do an ultrasound the next day which they said would yield better results... But could not guaranteed an appointment for the next day because of the lack of staff. If they could not get the ultrasound, they offered up a CAT scan which cost two times more. They also wanted her to stay three nights at the Hospital assuring us that they had the means to make her more comfortable and were very quick to give us the bill of $4500 total. $2500 Deposit and then $2000 after all her tests and stay were done. After spending one night there, our cat was thankfully seen for an ultrasound and they assured us she was stable but still lethargic and unresponsive. They then hit us with bad news... She had two masses and fluid in her body with an aggressive type of cancer. At that point a vet should’ve been honest with us... However, what we received was a bunch of talk about further testing, next steps and trying to milk us for more money even though everything pointed to euthanizing our cat. She wanted to get the masses tested but noted that one mass they may not be able to reach. Then went on to say that the test could take a few days and may not yield results. We had asked her what would they do if they tested her? She did not have a good answer for next steps after that... So my husband almost lost his temper because they were okay with having our cat stay there for days without us, so that they could test her like a guinea pig. After our frustration she then talked about euthanizing as an option... To which we needed to hang up and discuss our next steps. We decided to bring our cat home for the weekend to say goodbye and have her euthanized with the vet that she knows. When we called back to inform the vet at the Toronto Animal Partner Hospital of our decision we sensed a bit of resistance as though our decision to take her back was not right. They said they had the means to take care of our cat and that they could euthanize her at their facility. We declined and told the vet why... Our cat is a rescue cat, we adopted her at 9 and she has abandonment issues. We did not want her to die in a strange place with strange people. When we came to pick her up she was not lethargic or unresponsive. She was so happy to see us that she immediately started bunting and purring loudly. We knew we made the right decision. What we did not know was what they had done or our cat. We got her home and she was much worse than the night before and unable to walk. She only stayed in that Hospital one night and the night before she could walk pretty well. Whatever was done to her there must have been traumatic and frightening... After eating, drinking and going to the washroom with our help... She is now resting comfortably on her large pillow. The ordeal of losing a loved one is never easy... But this review comes out because of how poorly the situation was handled, how money seems to be that hospitals only drive and the fact that being there seems to have accelerated her condition. Word of advice if it feels wrong, do what you think is right for you beloved animal.

My first dog was recently diagnosed with cancer at just 7 and had surgery to remove the tumor. This has been without question the most difficult experience of my life but the vets and staff at AHP made it bearable. Every single person I spoke with/saw there was kind. The oncologist (Dr. Gagnon) and surgeon (Dr. Biskup) were very knowledgeable. Thank you for taking such great care of Nina.

Brought my puppy there to be treated for broken toes. All the staff has been welcoming and professional and they have taken great care of him. I'm very grateful for all the love and care they have shown him! Thank you! I would not hesitate to bring him there again if needed.

It was a very stressful time and Dr. Kilbourn was extremely professional along with helping put us at ease. We researched him online before we came. His staff was also exceptional, making sure we had a very happy outcome. The medication he prescribed for her is so far a dream. Couldn't be happier with the outcome.

I would give 10 stars if I could! The service that was was provided to me by Animal Health Partners was above and beyond. I'm eternally grateful for the support and care that they gave to my cat Storm during her last moments. They handled her with great care and allowed myself and my partner to spend our last moments with her. I want to especially thank Dr. Arianna Archee and J.P. I cant put into words how amazing they were. J.P. was so compassionate and informative of next steps. J.P also gave us a fur clipping and wrapped it in a pink ribbon. Dr.Archee explained the whole euthanasia process to us before proceeding and let us hold and pet Storm during the process. Yesterday I received a sympathy card in the mail from Dr. Archee and J.P. that really touched my heart and was so unexpected. Thank you so much Toronto Animal Health Partners for taking care of my baby Storm.

Came in on the 22nd of Feb 2022. My cat had chew his tail, so I wanted to fined out if it was fleas or mange this time. Would have gone to my regular vet, but they changed there time and it hard to book a fast appointment due to covid. Arrived at the so called hospital at 7:15pm. Cat checked in all smiles at this point. At 9:30pm called to see what's up. Told cat has not even been seen yet. Asked for cat back as at this point I'm not a happy camper to say the least. At 9:52pm cat finally back in my hands. To say I'm fuming at this point is an understatement. They kept my poor cat locked in its carrier for almost 4 hours. The poor thing peed in it. I'm so upset with the outer lack of care and compassion that my animal was kept in its own pee, in a box for almost 4 hours just makes me sick and loose faith in vets all together. Do not bring your animal here unless it's dieing. Better of web mding untell a trusted vet is available. If they dare to send a bill I will take em to court and make dang sure the humane society has a good spot check on these monsters.

I would not recommend it. Wait until next day if you can avoid ER. Reception says, we will induce vomiting in your dog because it just happened. The tech says, the risks or inducing vomiting are ... The doctor says, we never induce vomiting because of the risks associated and it is too late. The opposite?! After they get your pet inside, you will find out what they can actually do and how enormous the cost that would be. The reception is just luring you in.

I woke up thinking about my sweet Mimi and realized I never wrote a review about my experience at the clinic last year. I will never, ever forget the kindness and empathy shown to me and my partner by the staff at this clinic when my dog was in distress and living the last couple days of her life. They treated her with the best possible care, were so understanding to the pain we were experiencing, and made sure that we were able to send her off with dignity. Veterinary staff are so valuable and under appreciated but they care for precious members of our families during their worst moments and should not be overlooked, especially throughout the last couple of years. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Found this emergency hospital after calling two others that were closer to where I live but they were not accepting any cases. Even over the phone they were very helpful and we got through to the doctor quickly. On arrival found the staff very professional and friendly. Great facilities. In the end my puppy was good and I was relieved!

Words cannot express how thankful I am to have found Dr. Marchal and the entire AHP team. They are extremely thorough, knowledgeable and their kindness and compassion was comforting during a very difficult time. I rushed my dog in to the hospital last week when he was suddenly unable to walk or stand. Dr. Marchal was extremely knowledgeable and diagnosed my dog and began treatment immediately. He was extremely patient with me and took the time to answer all my questions and recommend the best course of action without trying to push unnecessary tests. I am so grateful for the entire AHP team. I honestly thought I was going to lose my fur baby last week and now he is cuddled beside me sleeping comfortably. We are still not out of the woods and have a long road ahead but I am so thankful to have him with me today thanks to the amazing work of the AHP team.

My Standard Poodle, Remington had to come and see the internal medicine vet due to ongoing pancreas issues. I have nothing but positive things to say. Great parking, very friendly front staff and great doctor that we met with. Very nice facility as well. Thank you!

In short, my baby boy left the clinic more healthy than I brought him in and even though there was a long wait (8.5hours total) the staff were professional and nice! I brought my 5 month old kitten in as I thought he ate something he shouldn't have and stopped wanting to play or eat. Since covid precautions were still in effect I called the clinic when I arrived and one of the techs came to bring my kitten in. They told me the vet would call me in an hour. It was 7 hours until the vet called me. The reception staff were nice about me calling in to check in and apologized as there were 2 critical cases that had come in. Dr. Archie explained things very thoroughly and answered all my questions. She also went over the costs and the total cost was the same as quoted. I was impressed that she took so much time to explain things to me. After some xrays were done she called me back and I was able to pick up my baby. The total cost for assessment, xrays, medication, and hydration was $800 after tax which is steep but reasonable considering this is a 24hr emergency facility and I felt like we were in good hands.

Great staff.

This animal hospital has amazing staff. They not only quickly diagnosed our pup, but they were understanding of our anxieties & sadness. Our pup suddenly collapsed & we were devastated. We were recommended to Toronto Animal Partners by our local vet as a last resort as they had the most experienced & highly knowledgeable team, as well as the resources necessary to diagnose our little guy. Without them, we likely would have euthanized Simon not knowing that his condition could be treated. I will be forever grateful to the patient staff that saved him & helped keep our hearts full ????

We had a great experience of going from extreme despair to the biggest hope with our four-legged family member, Louie (4.5yrs old beagle), who had suddenly stopped walking from severe disc hernia. Due to professionalism, kindness and compassionate approach of Dr. Kilburn, Dr. Parker, Kelly and all the other wonderful and dedicated staff, Louie has been given a second chance to walk again. We are forever grateful to those wonderful people and will never forget the day we saw Louie walking again. Keep up your great work!!! Thank you for your dedication and professionalism. ????????????????

My Loki got the best care..they were very helpful and kept you informed with all aspects of care..hightly recommended

I have taken my cat Louie there twice and they are great with him.

This place is going to Rock! Staff that are dedicated to animals and their well being. Keep up the fantastic work .

Yes, you have to wait, it's an emergency hospital. It's to be expected. We took our cat in, paid 160 to have her seen, and another 350 for an xray, only to be told the xray didn't show anything. Then we were told a specialist would have to do her ultrasound in the morning... another 550, PLUS 160 for his consultation fee (not included in the ultrasound fee). Estimated btwn $3000 to $6000 to diagnose and treat her. When told we couldn't afford it, the vet argued with us for over 2 hours on the phone before telling us we could medically surrender her to the humane society (who, btw, are angels and saved our cats life). They truly have no concept of financial strain, and honestly don't seem to care. Unless you have pet insurance, or very deep pockets, do not go here. I understand that emergency services are expensive.... but this vet came across as only caring about the money.

My dog saw Dr.Kathrine Moffitt at animal health partners back in 2019 and I can't speak for other doctos as I know some people do have good experiences but i would not recommend Katherine Moffitt. She told me to get over the counter famotidine (pepcid) to help with my dogs acid. My dog was doing fine that day. eating, going to potty walking around the house. but literally within half an hr of me giving him that pepcid he started crying and screaming in pain all night. He died the next morning.

We recently brought our 15-year old baby boy to Toronto Animal Health Partners Emergency. Due to COVID-19, we had to wait in our car outside until the doctors examined our boy. They're busy, but diligent. They're like a human ER and therefore, you may have to wait if a pet is sicker than yours. This is normal. This is a good thing, and waiting a few hours to ensure another animal is cared for while yours may have to wait, comfortably, for an hour or more, is not a big deal compared to what excellent care your pet will receive. I suggest bringing a drink, a snack and something to entertain yourself to keep your mind occupied. Dr. Kim examined our little guy. He called and explained everything that was happening. He was kind, caring, and open to questions. Our boy wound up having to stay in the hospital a few times and the prognosis wasn't what we had hoped for. Dr. Lydia Pan, Dr Caroline Gregg, JP, every single person there was kind, considerate, knowledgeable, and loving. It was painful to be apart from our little guy who filled our lives with love and happiness. The daily calls with updates, photos and videos will always be treasured - the staff was busy, but sent these as they did all they could to figure out the puzzle of what was wrong with our boy and how to treat him. We had to say goodbye to our sweetheart and afterward, we received the most loving and personalized card, which I've read too many times already. I want to thank all of you for everything you did. If anyone is wondering if they should bring their pet here, I recommend it 100%. You won't get better care anywhere else. Thank you all so much.

Kaitlyn Campbell-James

My fiance just returned from this clinic with our cat (He seems fine) I just wanted to applaud this fantastic team of highly skilled and empathetic individuals. The level of care and compassion we received for our beloved Thorin was unparalleled. From the initial phone call to when we arrived in the clinic we have never been more impressed. The ladies at the front desk were genuine and warm. Dr. Gregg was equally as concerned for the health and wellbeing of our cat. The amenities for the human companions of their patients are worth mentioning too! Beautiful, warm welcoming front reception area. They also have an owner's lounge stocked with light snacks, coffee, tea and water with free wifi and comfortable seating. It goes without saying this place is highly recommended! Thank you to everyone who works at this amazing facility!

Tara-Lynn Dent

I highly recommend Toronto Animal Health Partners if you are in need of urgent or specialty care. Dr Kilburn and his team are amazing.. the ICU/emergency team, the reception team.. everyone I met was extremely nice, informative, and comforting. I felt my dog Gordie was in the best care. I was provided options and I never felt pressured or pushed to do certain diagnostics. Thank you so much for the care you've provided to Gordie, we're not in the clear yet but I'm very appreciative of everyone at Toronto Animal Health Partners. Thank you!

Liz Emrich

Had to take my little fur baby in today over a back injury and the staff were absolutely amazing and so sweet on the phone. The wait was long but I didn't mind because I knew she was being taken care of. I'd definitely recommend this emergency vet. Everything was explained throughly to me and no small detail was left out.

If you want your beloved pet to be DEAD please bring it to Toronto animal health partners emergency and specialty hospital. They worst place in entire GTA. I was referred to this hospital and I had all the paperwork for my pregnant dog. Doctor from Allandale vet hospital called and confirmed that they can take out beloved Stefka. We where almost at the hospital driving all the way from Barrie and they called and told us that they are not going to see us and don’t want another death in their hospital. In the way back to the the Barrie hospital with was at 3am our dog died. Thank you very much Toronto Animal Health Parents Emergency Hospital for waisting precious time and killing our dogs and all of her puppies!!!

It's always hard when you have to put your pet to sleep, but the staff here are amazing! My husband and I were very upset and distraught that our 9 yr old husky wasn't able to recover from his condition and needed euthanasia. Debbie was there to help us through the whole procedure and she spoke very reassuring words to us and helped talk us through our situation and the procedure. She honestly made the entire thing positive for me, as well as the doctor we had that Friday night/Saturday morning (May 8-9th), which is so weird to say considering I lost a pet. The doctor explained the procedure and was quick and gave us appropriate time to grieve as well as comfort us. This just made everything ten times easier on my family and I. Thank you guys for being supportive that night. We really appreciate the gesture and you!

Kelly Franklin

We had excellent care for our cat over the weekend. Great and knowledgeable vets and the front desk staff were friendly and kind. Vets did a fantastic job explaining the options and letting us choose what we we’re comfortable with doing.

We have a mixed rescue who because of her long body ruptured a disc in her spine two times in different places(just running) Dr Kilbourn has done both of her surgery and he is 100% the best. He has a kind and caring manner and is the best of the best. He has been there to consult with us and get Chica the best care he could when he was waiting to open his new clinic. On his own personal time! we have navigated some other concerns as Chica ages and he is always available to be sure we are getting the best care for her. Dont go anywhere else if your pet need a neurologist or has back issues and I'm sure anything else. I trust if he is involved with this clinic you will only get the best care there is.

Lill Necakov

If I could give these folks a 10, I would, they are phenomenal! So professional and kind, they take their time to explain everything in great detail and do not rush you. The level of care our poor doggy, who had to have surgery for an obstructed bowel, received is out of this world. I recommend these folks wholeheartedly. We have never left our 8 year old dog anywhere overnight and he had to stay in hospital at AHP for three nights. Needless to say, the family was really anxious and concerned. AHP put us at ease with regular detailed updates, they called at the precise time they said they would and answered every one of our many questions with kindness and patience. Thank you AHP, you are real heroes!

Paul Lalonde

Animal Health Partners were great in Archie’s care when we really needed it. Thank you to the staff and doctors who looked after Archie when he was so sick.

James Patterson

The vet and tech were so communicative and thorough, not once was I worried about my cat in their hands. They answered all of my many questions and were completely transparent about vet costs, etc. Thank you for keeping my boy safe!

I brought my dog couple of months ago with a face pain we told them that we see pink stool and a slightly change of attitude my dog had a tooth pain they say after doing a full bloodwork and examination all he had was a tooth pain they prescribed him 2 antibiotics and 1 pain killer and it killed him in 6 times faster than he would've died anyways because the incompetent doctor didn't realize inflammation of abdomen was a sign of liver disease and that those 2 antibiotics pills should've never been mixed together and given to a liver patient in any circumstances my puppy died in pain and agony he had 6 seizures in less than 24 hours the pills ate him from the inside out advancing his illness at an inimaginable rate ..his file is currently sitting in the US Army Veterinarian department in the London Veterinarian University and The University of Medicine from Liege ranked top 37 in the world for the experience and expertise when it comes to pets while in Canada you become a Vet after 12 month in Europe you need 7 years ..If the doctor refuses to talk to me every day i call than others will do, others who actually care ..you guys should've done a assessment and make sure a old dog can support 1000 mg of methadone especially when the owner told you of the uncertainty of his age ..he turned into something else i didn't recognize him anymore and i wish nobody else gets to see what i saw that day my dog having seizures pooping vomiting and peeing himself at once. Bloodwork was done the symptoms where there 2 months ago he had them you guys wrote them down but didn't care to take them into consideration for some specific fact i do not know i still wonder to this day why didn't you guys told us that he had further issues than just the initial one we brought him in for why did you guys prefer to take the money and accorde him the attention needed and the attention that we paid for..the only explanation you guys can give me is a dog can get liver disease in 3 days and die from it ..i wasn't born yesterday to believe that aberration just like i don't believe you have sent me all his papers his Bloodwork is only 4% or maybe even less of the full test you gave me something that suit you so you look good but i wasn't born yesterday and if i have to get a court order to get that Bloodwork i will that's how determined i am to fight for him!

Could not have asked for a better experience! I brought both my cat and dog to see Dr. Litchenberger. I greatly appreciated his and his technician's knowledge and reassurance. Both of my pets were completely at ease the entire time! I left with a solid plan and a much better understanding of my pets' issues. All of the staff were also absolutely amazing. From the time I called for an appointment to when we left the building, it was filled with nothing but positive, reassuring interactions with true animal lovers. They displayed remarkable patience and confidence dealing with emergencies, and comforting people who may very well have been experiencing the worst day of their lives. You hope to never have to need them, but I know that in an emergency, I can trust my babies to them without hesitation.

Ric

Our first time here was to see a cardiologist for our dog. The cardiologist and his team were remarkable. We got immediate help and loved the ambience and undivided attention from the staff, all of whom exuded an air of really enjoying working at this hospital. The experience almost felt too good to be true. It was 100 times better than a human hospital. Facility was incredibly clean, organized, and with all the latest medical equipment. This was a true animal hospital, not like so many smaller clinics that have the word "hospital" in their name but are barely a shack. Now that we've been here I wouldn't go to any other emergency hospital. Thank goodness this hospital exists.

Donata Morandi

I am impressed by this emergency hospital and its level of care. Incredibly nice and professional staff, from receptionist to triage and vets. Your pet is addressed by its name and not treated as a stranger, the vets take their time to call you and give you a very detailed summary of their findings, the prognosis and the therapies. (They call now due to Covid restrictions and owners are not allowed in the hospital). Upon discharge you are given a report and then a more comprehensive one is mailed to you. I highly recommend this hospital. Thank you for taking loving care of my dog!

Turn on the Charm CA

We just returned from a day trip to find our one year old cat in distress - weak/limp, breathing erratically, vocalizing. Making a trip to the emergency vet in the wee hours of the night, when you are sick with worry, is never a pleasant experience, but the receptionist and vet were extremely compassionate, professional, and thorough. I was too distressed to remember their names but I will find out and add them! The vet was extremely clear and thorough in her explanations of her exam and diagnostic testing, which is appreciated more than you know. Still not sure what’s happening with our cat but some of the big concerns have been ruled out and we can follow up with our regular vet. Thanks everyone!

My first visit to TAHP was prior to Covid where my dog Takota saw Dr Kilburn in Neurology. Front staff was very kind, they even took a photo of my dog to post on social media. Dr. Kilburn was amazing. He explained everything so well and had excellent bedside manners. My next couple of visits have been with Dr. Little ineurology who is also fantastic. She is thorough and was able to see my pup the same day I called in for an emergent issue. All staff at TAHP are kind and caring.

This is the most thorough and knowledgeable ER clinic in Toronto. The best of the best have come here to create a top of the line animal care facility. They go above and beyond. JP, Dr. Moffatt and Dr. Lichtenberger, my family and I thank you for everything that you do.

Our experience with Toronto Animal Health Partners was amazing. Every part of the service was quality—their manner on the phone, their kindness and compassion when dealing with my dog, the time the vet took to talk to me on the phone after examining him. We were seen right away and thankfully had him back to us within an hour. I would highly recommend this clinic should you find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing emergency care. Thank you all for your wonderful care of my precious boy.

My day did not end up the way I had thought it might… so there I was in parking spot number 13 in the emergency lot at TAHP. Jocelyn at reception answered the telephone and took our information. She was kind and patient as I was emotional and unsure of how to properly describe the drastic change in my best friend’s temperament. Due to COVID, I could not go inside but a lovely nurse came out moments later to take my best friend in so they could assess him and see what might be causing his discomfort. Not 15 minutes later, Doctor Beth Lamborne called to let me know he was doing well… vitals were strong but that she had found a mass… my worst nightmare, of course. Doctor Lamborne was kind, walked me through our options and advised me of what she thought could be happening based on her medical knowledge. I was a right mess… she understood and explained everything to me in a way that I knew what I needed to do for my best friend. He is home with me now… we understand we are on borrowed time but we are grateful for the wonderful care and their immediate ability to take us in when we needed answers. TAHP Team… we appreciate you and everything you do when love just isn’t enough… Thank you, Dr. Lamborne… to you and your incredible team of nurses, receptionists, techs, specialists… to everyone for making sure things run smoothly for all of us worried parents and for making our best companions feel comfortable and cared for during their time of need. I am sorry that I landed in the emergency parking lot today… I am sorry for the news we received… but I am eternally grateful to each and every one of the TAHP team members who were there for us today.

It’s went from $800 and I refused to $200 because I refused and was about to leave. I will NEVER COME BACK HERE WVER Again.!! Don’t get ripped off. HOPE THIS WILL SAVE SOMEONES MONEY.!!

This hospital has an excellent team and facility. Dr. Little and staff were so amazing to my frenchie Cessna who had to undergo surgery on her spine due to a slipped disc. Very straight forward and honest group of people. Thank you for helping Cessna and making this a smooth process. I highly recommend!!!

Honestly if it wasn't for Dr. Debbie Reynolds and the staff at Toronto animal health I don't know what would have happened to our Ruby. They took such amazing care of her when she had those terrible bladder stones that almost ruptured her bladder. Not only did they save my dog's life but they reassured us every step of the way with constant phone call updates on how our little girl was doing. I can't thank you guys enough for everything you've done for us, you're the real hero's!

Laura McEwan

Staff were great. Dr. Lichtenberger performed a life saving heart surgery on my dog. Their care was above and beyond. They forgot to send the collar back home with my dog and Fed-Ex’d it to me because I’m from out of town and currently have a broken leg. They genuinely cared about my puppy and her wellbeing and it meant the world to me.

We brought our five month old pomchi puppy Bosco here after he threw up a few times and wasn’t acting like his usual self. When we got there, we called the hospital to let them know that we had arrived as per COVID protocol. They came out and got Bosco while we waited. We drove down the street to grab a quick bite to eat. As we were pulling back into the parking lot, Dr Greg called my fiancé to ask about Bosco’s history. After that was done, the doctor gave her honest opinion and gave us treatment options. She advised that we could do bloodwork and x-rays, but she didn’t believe they were necessary at this time. They gave Bosco some medication and some fluids, and we were sent home with food and probiotics to give him. He is back to bouncing around and being his usual self. What I appreciated most was the fact that we weren’t forced into doing xrays etc. which would have cost more money since the doctor herself said she didn’t believe it to be necessarily. She could have just as easily said these tests were required and charged us a ton of money. While I hope we never have to come back here again, we will definitely do so if necessary because of the great and honest service we received. (disclaimer-the dog in my profile pic isn’t Bosco. It’s just a hilarious pic of a dog I saw online a few years back and decided to make it my profile photo for some reason)

Absolutely TERRIBLE! $4000 and, 2.5 weeks later they have told me my dog has signs of infection (which you can visibly see) no results from CT scan as of yet. No care plan to deal with infection, just complete incompetence. The manager Steve, refuses to call me back. Avoid this place like Covid-19. Update We finally received a care plan after speaking to Steve explaining the terrible experience. Dog initially responded well until we were required to reduce medication. Reached out to the clinic and Dr. Westgarth to let them know, and see how to proceed on July 17 - NO RESPONSE Have sent follow up email/message at clinic today as we have officially run out of meds. This place continues to prove it is all about the $$$ they do not actually care about the well-being of your family pet.

Deborah Luciano

Amazing service. Took care of my dog immediately and he seemed very happy for a boy who just got stitches.

Info Info.

Be aware THAT THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!! MY DOG CAME IN WITHA SMALL ISSUE. Just to look at the dog, they CHARGED $200. They wanted to Charge almost $1000. Went elsewhere and it cost only $200 all said and done! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE!!.

After visiting our local vet, we brought our beloved Bristol here for further testing and to be seen by neurologist Greg Kilburn. The entire team were friendly, kind and compassionate. Dr. Kilburn reviewed Bristol's devasting diagnosis with us. Dr. Kilburn could not have been any more kind and patient answering each question we had. Our final decision to let our dear boy go shattered our hearts. Dr. Kilburn and the team continued to be supportive and compassionate towards us and Bristol. They patiently allowed us our private time to say goodbye. They accommodated our wishes in every way. We are forever greatful for this. Our hearts are broken, but have some comfort by remembering how amazing this team were. Mike & Tracey West Ps. This place was SPOTLESS clean. Ontario people hospitals should follow this example.

Just over a week ago our cat Caesar was showing some very troubling signs of illness. After calling and driving to 2 other places, Animal Health Partners was very kind to let us come in for our emergency visit. They definitely squeezed us in and we very much appreciate that. We just moved to Toronto recently and did not have a family vet yet. Unfortunately our little boy was very sick and had to be put down. They were so kind and caring during the whole process. Given the circumstances, it was a very gentle experience. They explained everything perfectly and thoroughly. They made sure our little boy was comfortable and we felt cared for by JT (I hope I remembered that correctly) the rep for Gateway. I’ve never experienced having to put an animal of my own down before, but this was how I would of wanted it.

Cisy Xia

I have been waited for 3-4hours for doing nothing but just stay in the consult room , I guess the doctor may already forget we were still waiting ,because I didn’t see the doctor until I asked the reception desk to check how many people were ahead of us. Honestly I am sooooo angry about it! When I was there it’s 11 something and when I left it’s already 3:40pm! And we just did a blood test and got 2 medicine, it is totally not a serious illness just because the vet we usually go is closed today ! I will never come back again even for the emergency!

Brandon Ostrom

I don't have an opinion on their surgeons or the kind of care this facilities provides, but their staff are condescending and inconsiderate.

Our dog had a paw accident on Sunday of a long weekend. With his usual vet closed, we tried this place due to their great reviews. They took all info on the phone as we were on route. Although there was a reasonable wait for the ER vet, the vet tech let us know that she could clean the paw up and cut the nail where it was bent/broken and causing our dog pain. She bandaged our dog up and we were on our way in 20 minutes. On top of that, they didn’t charge us anything for the visit or service. Hope to never need an emergency vet, but glad to know this place (and their wonderful staff) exists.

I brought my cat here just because she didn’t eat and drink anything in 2 days. Just to examine the cat, they charge $209.

Dr Kilburn is amazing and because of him and his staff I had my Chewy for for 11.5 yrs. I first brought my Chewy in to the VEC when he was 4.5yrs he would constantly jump all the time off furniture until one day he couldn't walk and had no feeling in his back legs, I brought him in and was introduced to Dr Kilburn, he thoroughly examined Chewy with a Ct scan and discovered he had ruptured a disc in his lumbar and was paralyzed, I didn't have a lot of money at the time but I had insurance, he told the payroll lady to work with me and my insurance company and then went on with the surgery, Dr Kilburn told me afterwards that it went very well and within a few days my Chewy came home, Chewy still couldn't walk until the second day of him coming home and every day after that he improved it was a miracle, unfortunately when Chewy was almost 8 he went paralyzed again, Dr Kilburn worked his magic again and within a few days Chewy was back, so I want to thank VEC and Dr Kilburn for giving me so many more years with my little guy. Thank you and God Bless

Absolutely amazing team! We took our new puppy, Tofu, here in the middle of the night and everyone we interacted with was helpful and knowledgeable. The front reception was amazing, she was such a calming force in a stressful moment. The vet tech took her time to fully understand what the problem was, and the vet herself (Dr. Laura Tindal) was thorough and quickly diagnosed the problem. She provided a treatment plan and answered all of our extensive questions patiently. Tofu loved her! We will absolutely be returning here for any emergency needs for any of our animals. Thank you to your entire team, you have a wonderful safe haven for animals that need help!

I sent my furbaby there last week. And I am happy I did. The vets when called did not rush me as I took in what they would tell me. They all gave me a minute to process and ask my questions or voice concerns. And they sent me pictures when I asked. One person even gave lil pup comments which really cheered me up. The only reason I don't give them a 5, is because one of the receptionists was rude and kept cutting me off when I was trying to talk, and when I called for an update outside the vet they had forgotten. Forgive my overstep... only suggestion would be when possible send people pictures even if they don't ask, it's so important when you cant come visit. And to the receptionists I know things get busy and you might have a bad day, but please remember pet parents are usually freaking out so forgive them for being irritating and try to give them polightness regardless of how difficult they may be. Your patience and kindness goes a long way even though it may not seem like it.

Nemeerah p

I’m grateful that they would take us in at night but unfortunately the doctors couldn’t speak about FIP and told me it could be just parasites. So the treatment was delayed by an entire week.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank each and everyone in Toronto Animal Health Partners Emergency and Specialty Hospital. You treated my son, Fandogh like he was one of your loved ones. After spending two nights there and being treated in great hands, thankfully he is much better now that he is back home. We are waiting for the further tests results and treatment options but so far the hospital team did a heavenly job. Dr. LAURA TINDAL, Dr. LYDIA PAN, Dr. JUDY BROWN, Dr, JACKIE, Dr. MACDONALD and all the nurses, Fandogh and I are beyond lucky and thankful to have you. Thank you for being so informative, caring and professional during such hard time. All the best and stay safe.

such an amazing clinic! very professional, caring, and compassionate staff. unfortunately my kitty did not end up leaving the hospital, but they made it as easy as it could have been. he was immediately taken in and the staff were so so helpful. they have a wonderfully relaxed, private space to be with your pet after they have passed. i want to thank all the staff for helping him go as peacefully as he could have, i can’t recommend this clinic enough.

I brought my 1 year old French bulldog here just after the holidays 28th of Dec due to vomiting blood, toronto Animal Health partner took him and decided that he needed to stay over night. They charged my card $2,656.60 after being told that it would cost $2,500 estimated amount I let them know that I couldn’t afford that they understood and took X-rays and other exams off stating the ultrasound will do. I got my pup back the fallowing day after getting a call from the vet in the morning I informed her that I had work at 9 & would be able to send my husband she then said they want to keep him to monitor that it wouldn’t cost me more! I picked up my pup at 5pm after work and was told I was charged more due to him staying there till 5! With no answers to what the problem was! NOW on January 14th 2021 they call me stating I was over charged and that they will refund the card I called hoping they can explain the charges and the terms used on the receipt so that I can clearly understand what was done to my pup worth nearly $3000 he didn’t get any surgery done & they write down what was done in medical terminology so you wouldn’t understand and don’t want to take they time to explain to you because they already have your money! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS MONEY HUNGRY ANIMAL HOSPITAL TO ANYONE! SAVE YOUR WALLET & FUR BABY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

In memory of Buster I need to share his story and warn loving pet owners to not fall in the same trap! During a difficult time of dealing with my dog having cancer I spoke with Debbie Reynolds. I was hoping for her expect opinion and guidance but after our phone conversation I was sent 3 quotes, all with different procedures I didn't quite understand between $4500 - $7500 and each quota having it's own range of $1000. Then after Busters procedure I was given documents for his medication but the doses on the paperwork were different from the bottled medication. I had to call and confirm and they didn't even acknowledge the error and just said they would resent the paperwork. Then I talk to doctor twice confirming he would be sent home with a donut and not a cone and when I got there she denied even having that conversation with me. After surgery we had a follow up appointment and as she's taking out his staples she tells me the cancer will come back and he has 3-6 months to live. PARDON!?! and with ZERO empathy!!! Buster then passed approaching his 3rd month. I reached out to the doctor and basically she told me, "that's why people go with the other quote, the cancer could have also been in that area". For a $1000 more, with all the stress and missing my dog every day, of course I would have done what I could for him! Don't go there, the doctors, staff are unprofessional! You want someone to understand your needs and take care of your pet and not do it for a paycheck...find another place! Spend the extra $ somewhere else!

I have never dealt with such kind, compassionate and competent vets. The vet was fantastic, as was the support team. The doctor took the time to ensure i understood everything as much as possible, even if it meant repeating herself. She stayed two hours late caring for my pet and kept me updated regularly ❤. Even reception was very understanding and caring.

We ended up having to put our little guy down, but the folks here were a huge help and made whole the process so much easier on us. J.P. in particular was so kind and loving, you can really tell that she genuinely cares for you and your pet. Thank you all so much for your help during this time. :)

Best treatment I ever received! My dog Bruce had surgery with them and even after he was at home they kept calling to check how we're doing and how he was healing. I'm a very worried dog mom, I know I can be very annoying sometimes, calling all the time, but they gave me plenty of attention and helped me thru all of it! It's been a week now and I'm really happy with the service so far!

We would like to greatly thank everyone in the Emergency at the Toronto Animal Health Hospital, especially Stacey and the woman with the blonde/blue hair (so sorry for not remembering your name) for doing everything you could to help Koko. We couldn't have asked for better caring people for her in her final days! Thank you for everything!

Really bad experience. the staff who answered the phone is really rude and racist.

This is the only options left to us due to COVID-19. I can’t say they are a complete rip off for charging over $1000 a night for emergency because it is indeed 24 hours service and animal service is not cheap in Toronto generally. But I have a strong feeling people there DO NOT love animal enough. Our dog is old (10 years old), and she was sent here because her red blood cell dropped dramatically and also refused to eat. So clinic said our dog needed blood transfer ASAP. We then sent her here, and explain her condition and told the doctor that She also had a congestive heart failure issue and need to pee every 2-3 hours to clear out fluid in her lungs because she’s also on other medications. So after the first night, we called and asked about our dog’s condition. I guess the only thing I’m happy with staff here is that they sounded super friendly trying to comfort you and they are “honest” with what they actually did to our dog. I cannot believe that even we told them she would need to pee frequently they only managed to let her pee once at 8 am and once at 5 pm. Like WHat the?!9 hours?! And they even told us she pee the bed in between. Their explanation was because they cannot take her out to pee during the blood transfer. It really makes me wonder if they even try to plan out the treatment accordingly for older dog or just simply follow their convenient schedule letting how normal dogs pee. After the second night, we called and our dog’s condition is not really improving so we decided to bring her home to spend the last few moments with our family, we hope at least she can die seeing us, knowing us is there with her, rather staying alone in cage. And the hospital was like, if we do that she might not get nutrition and will die, but staying in hospital they in fact were planning on giving her those drip-feeding to her now on the third day. We already told them she refused to eat when we dropped in the poor girl at hospital and I don’t understand why they only waited till the third day before using that to feed her. I’m no profession in this animal thing but I do know we need nutrition in order to recover... I’m really not sure why didn’t they do it earlier. At this point I just feel like they want to keep our pet at hospital and want our money, not care how she actually is as long as she’s “alive”. Perhaps what the doctor did is right and there’s a lot of restrictions. But that still didn’t explain why when we picked her up, she smelled disgustingly awful, I believe it’s because when she pee her bed, they didn’t even bother to change the bed for her. And when we clean her, her butt hole was full of diarrhea mixture, surely this is the way how they care and love animal. It’s just so many things it shows that I do not think they care enough. Now we are home with the poor girl and even thou she seems like she is resting in peace, I know she’s still suffering but at least she’s home and knowing we are here for her unlike that horrible place. I sincerely hope no pet needs to visit and as long as if u can solve the issue in clinic and able to take home to handle the rest, never leave the caring to others. Because no one will love your pet as much as you do. Best luck to all paws lovers.

I am a Veterinarian myself and after dealing with Dr. Merhkins on another case I know I wanted her to do surgery on my boy. Cedric my 14 month old Irish Wolfhound went in for a laparoscopic neuter and gastropexy. Everything went smoothly and Dr. Merhkins took so much time to call me each day he was there and twice after the procedure. The staff there were always very friendly and helpful even if my dog dragged them around a bit! He tanks them all for their exceptional care. The price was very reasonable as well for the advanced surgical technique that was done!

Our dog Harriet was admitted last Wednesday and diagnosed with IMHA. We had little hope that she’d make it. While she still has a road to recovery, we are bringing her home today, thanks to their exceptional care and expertise. It is not a cheap experience (please get pet insurance!!) but I am so grateful for their compassion, communication, and honesty in providing information and updates. Even if this ICU stay does not mean that Harriet recovers, then I know that they gave her the absolute best chance, and loved her up while they tried. I am so very grateful! ❤️

I get at the clinic with my cat, the nurse has examined the cat and we were sited in the waiting room forever. I have asked the receptionist after 2 hours when is my turn she said there are 3 patients before me. After an other hour I asked again and I get the same answer. I asked for an estimation and the receptionist told me they cannot give me an estimation, depend of the emergency cases. So if in the time I was waiting with my cat other patient showed up with more serious issues I will be pushed for the next day? or how is working this. You are an Emergency clinic, so please hire more doctors.

Anthony Z

Everyone here was super helpful and supportive. When we originally went there late Saturday night they weren’t sure they had the vacancy for my dog but ended up taking him so we were super grateful for that. He was in emergency for approximately 3 days and they kept us updated after every test was complete. After realizing that my dog had a tumour and the possibility of saving him was very very low we took him home to have him around his family. Unfortunately things became worse and he stopped eating and showed signs of a steady decline so we made the decision as a family to put him at rest so he didn’t have to suffer anymore. It was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make but know it was the right one, because its not about us but the best decision for him. Rocky passed away yesterday at around 11am. You’re free now my boy and no more suffering. Thanks to all the staff for everything. I’m sure Rocky made some sort of impact on everyone he came across there. Thanks again

This place is the best place to take your loved pets to the have a heart of gold, helped me to make that hard choice for my lola

Specialists are good, but the emergency vet is terrible. He scared us by saying our cat has terrible terrible heart problem, we spend $2000 for examinations, but then cardiologist confirmed our cat’s heart is good

(Translated) I took my cat and drove by the waterfall to see the doctor. Before calling him to ask him if he wanted to make an appointment, he said that he would not come directly. As a result, I came to an old lady who repeatedly asked me if you had an appointment, and then she spoke to me impatiently. After my cat was brought in, I waited at the door for 4 hours. The white man next to him took the dog and walked one after another. During this time, I called several times and asked them when it was my cat’s turn. They once If I don’t know, I hang up. I say the next one at a time. I say too much emergency room at a time. I don’t know when it will arrive. He was farting, and the dog next to him was alive and kicking, nothing like an emergency. I don't know if it is because of discrimination that I am Asian, or whether my pet is a cat or a dog, and it is not worth seeing a doctor first. I also paid, and the hospital charges a lot, but they treated my cat like this and said that the cat was very relaxed while waiting inside. I think they are farting, and people are almost unable to hold back pee outside. The cat is strange Is your environment relaxing after being in the cage for so long? ? ? This hospital is really stupid! Stupid! ! !

I just had my first experience with this Emergency clinic and was very impressed with the high level of service and care I had neurological concerns with my puppy and the vet was very thorough explaining my options, gave me great advice and several resources. The cost was very reasonable considering it is a 24/7 Emerg clinic. Highly recommend!

After our half-Dachunds Benny became suddenly paralyzed in his hind quarters our regular vet urged us to take the longish drive from Burlington to North York to this clinic for the medical imaging and neurology expertise and because of the positive experiences of other clients of his. We were not disappointed! They got him in within an hour and imaged him the next morning and immediately performed the surgery needed for him to walk again. The communication was excellent, all of the staff were compassionate and professional and we rested well knowing that Benny was getting the best of care. He got treatment and some preventative measures done and was in much better spirits and standing for us when we got him home 4 days later. We could have gone to a closer full service hospital but didn't because of a past bad experience. We're so glad we came here and feel that Benny has been given all he can to make the best recovery possible. In a world where mediocre is the standard, this hospital shines. They excellent at what they do and we'd recommend them wholeheartedly!

Worst first experience ever, don’t bother going here, reception lady is sarcastic and unprofessional and doctor provided medicine that is unnecessary, talked to her on the phone and she stopped providing the med as soon as we confronted and asked why that anti bacteria is needed and there was no reason to. Charged extra hours for the ward, it’s a complete mess whatever ANIMAL CARE it is running!

Please, if you suspect your pet is in need of urgent help, seek another animal hospital! I brought my 8 week pregnant dog in for a checkup as she developed a hard time retaining food/water. They did an ultrasound and could not find any problems. I explained that no matter what I tried to feed her, even by bottle, she could not keep it down, possibly a blockage of some sort? They ended up giving her an injection and medication. The next day, no improvement, she actually appeared to be worsening as she began to pass in and out of consciousness. The vet figured it was due to exhaustion/heavy pregnancy, but I knew it was something more serious. You could tell she was was in severe pain, so I took video of the incidences and provided them to the hospital. The vet suggested returning, And had to take her in on a stretcher. Astonishingly, the vet still did not seem to take her situation seriously despite my warnings and provided evidence. They placed her into the icu over night where she could be monitored more closely “apparently”. I was assured by their lead vet that her vitals were good and her situation didn’t seem too dire, and that they did not see a “fading dog”. The following morning, they tried to place a feeding tube and were unsuccessful and would re-attempt later on. I felt sick, because I knew something wasn’t right. I started to call and check up on her periodically, where the vet stated her vitals were “good”, though they didn’t sound too positive when saying it, giving me the feeling that they weren’t telling me something. Going over their case notes makes me nauseous, Below was their morning assessment. -Adult canine in serious condition Potential for decompensation/death Potential for fetal death or C-section Lethargy, Inappetence Regurgitation vs. vomiting Hypoglycemia Elevated ketones Pregnancy toxemia I was never made aware of the seriousness of the situation, I was only ever told that my dog is very pregnant, and her vitals are great/good. If I had known her condition and her developing pregnancy toxaemia, I would have opted for immediate c-section which more than likely would have saved my baby’s life. Precious ended up going into cardiac arrest in the icu that following night. I personally believe she choked to death while they tried inserting the feeding tube for the second time, but the vet said she unexpectedly arrested out of nowhere. They were able to resuscitate her, but unfortunately they were not able to do so fast enough, and she was now in a comatose state. My life ended that day. I knew something was wrong, they hid this information from me, maybe they were trying to be heroes, or maybe they just wanted to gouge me for money. AlI I know is that this is due to 100% negligence, and this likely could have been prevented if I was only made aware of the severity of the situation. Post arrest, I opted to keep her on life support for the next 24 hrs to give her and her puppies a fighting chance, despite the odds. Her vitals increased, but her brain activity was null. I knew my baby was gone, so I prayed for the safety of the puppies. The vet suggested an early c-section due to potential toxins/internal damage caused by the arrest, though her vitals were improving? I wanted to give them more vital development time, but felt pressured. Heartbreakingly, none of the puppies survived, and shortly after, my baby girl was gone as well. Precious fought so, so hard, she fought harder than any of the vets did. She deserved better. We only bred her because our whole family absolutely adored her. I was going to keep 2 puppies, and the rest would have been spread throughout family and friends as a gift, or at cost. It’s absolutely devastating that something as beautiful as pregnancy, could end so tragically. Precious was my daughter, she was/is the most important thing to me in this world. Enjoy the $12,000-$14,000 I spent in vet bills guys, you definitely DON’T deserve it. Learn, and do better next time, a life’s a life. P.s. I don’t want your empty sympathies or excuses, I want my baby girl back.

I work at another animal hospital and had to send my cat for an emergency surgery last week. From beginning to end, AHP was a pleasant experience and after speaking to the surgery department and Dr. Biskup, my worries were no more as I knew my girl was in great hands. Dr. Biskup and team went took amazing care of my sweet girl pre and post-op. I cannot thank them enough for saving her!

This hospital is nothing short of amazing. From the very second we brought our dog here, to when he left was truly a wonderful experience even given the stressful situation of his condition. We had him transferred from another animal hospital after feeling that the vets didn’t have his best interest at heart. Dealing with all the vets, the vet techs, coordinators, and receptionists, they were all truly amazing. They made us feel that our dog was important, showed sympathy, and compassion, and not like it was just another dog on their list. They broke down the bill in detail, explaining everything, which we appreciated. They updated us every step of the way, and never made us feel like they were irritated with the amount of times we called. Dr edouard Marchal from neurology was incredible! He was sensitive, compassionate, and professional. We really felt like our dog was in the best care. Coming from a previous animal hospital dealing with the neurologist, it was definitely a step up. He performed our dog Charlie’s surgery, and updated us every step of the way. We are extremely greatful to all of Charlie’s doctors, and the staff at Toronto specialty health partners for their compassion and excellent care. We don’t live close to the area, but if there was ever a case where we needed to use a vet again - this would be the place to go! Recommend them 100%

Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Little in neurology. She listens, is sympathetic and more importantly excels at her work. She was able to diagnose our dog Maggie and provide excellent treatment options. Maggie was days away from not surviving and thanks to Dr. Little and her team, she continues to have excellent quality of life and her disease is stable. It’s been 10 months now and Maggie is still with us and we are enjoying every day. Thanks to Dr. Little and the neurology team! Photos show Maggie when she was in the ICU (bottom right) and others since her diagnosis and ongoing treatment.

My precious dog Angel had unfortunately been diagnosed with a grade 3/6 heart murmur early 2020. My primary veterinarian advised that I see Dr. Lichtenberger so Angel can get a echocardiogram and a diagnosis to further treat her heart. I’d first like to thank the staff and vet technicians that helped me at the parking lot. The front desk was kind and gentle with me over the phone. The vet technician that took Angel inside of the building was reassuring, friendly and very kind to Angel who was nervous about entering the building without me. Being a staff of a veterinary clinic myself, I want to acknowledge how the difficulty of covid-19 has forced staff to readjust and adapt to the situation, but the staff at AHP has done more than adapt. Every step they took was handled smoothly and I just want to say how much I appreciate them giving clients their 100% during these difficult times. And my biggest thank you goes to Dr. Lichtenberger. He throughly explained every step he took with Angel, leaving no details out. Just by the way he was explaining all the steps to me, I could tell he was gentle and patient with Angel. Dr. Lichtenberger was very empathetic and thoughtful when talking to a very anxious client, and was very detailed when discussing the treatment options. He was very knowledgeable and respectful, I couldn’t ask for a better cardiologist for Angel. The second time I went to AHP (2021) for a recheck, the exact same. Everyone was unbelievably kind and considerate towards me. Angel’s heart has since been stable and even improved according to Dr. Lichtenberger since starting the medication he prescribed. From being nervous and anxious for my first visit with AHP, now after meeting and speaking with the staff members and Dr. Lichtenberger, I can not wait for my next recheck visit as I know Angel will be 100% taken care of. I know whenever Angel goes to visit them, she will be put in the hands of very compassionate animal lovers who have nothing, but the best intentions for her. Words can not express how grateful and appreciative I am towards the cardiology staff and Dr. Lichtenberger.

I have never been to this vet hospital however when my puppy ate my cats antibiotics, I called them in a panic. They gave me wonderful advice and calculated the dose he ate compared to his body weight etc. They helped me through this state of panic and allowed me to care for my puppy and take the next appropriate steps. However when calling the Toronto Veterinary Hospital on Rolark drive, I was told to call a poison control line that would have charge me 75 USD, just to see if my puppy was in danger.

Cardiology staff are amazing, wouldn't go anywhere else for that. Admin staff that work during business hours are incredibly rude and just downright mean. Appointments get rescheduled and moved constantly and the emergency vets are not helpful. Brought my dog to the emergency a few months ago, the vet did some tests that said they thought it was an infection but could be something worse. I asked what it could be worst case scenario, the vet wouldn't tell me - just said my regular vet would have to do any follow up to figure out if it was something more serious. Made no sense! They also make you call them for your test results instead of them calling you when the results are ready - so you call when they tell you to, they tell you they aren't ready yet and you have to call back later, so you do, and the results aren't in yet so you call back again and again.... most vets call you when test results are available instead of vice versa. Had high hopes for this place but other than the cardiology service I wouldn't use this place. MOVEH is much better, more professional and way less expensive.

Please, no matter how desperate you are with your pets condition, find a different institution to seek help. These people are terrible. My puppy was losing his mind in a lot of pain, not only did we wait in the parking lot for 7 hours with ZERO communication and/or updates. My puppy was in there, and I didn't even know what was going on. To complete the terrible experience, they didn't give me a reason behind my puppies pain and gave me medication that had zero effect. I just called them to see what I should do as my puppies going crazy and the medication that was prescribed didn't do anything, the lady on the phone told me to come back and this time they will do an X-RAY FOR $900 to see if they can find anything. Not only is the cost an issue for me, but why was that not offered on my previous visit? Moral of the story, they don't really care to help. I advise you all to take a look at a different institution in case of desperate concern.

So impressed!!! We took our 19 year old cat to the hospital in the middle of the night - frantic because she was crying and wouldn't settle down. Everyone was compassionate, attentive, caring, knowledgeable and efficient. She is now on the road to recovery. That you ALL for helping our her and us get through our initial emergency.

MARILYN HUNG

I was impressed with the doctor’s knowledge and expertise. They were able to stabilize my dog with proper therapy. Unfortunately my dog’s health condition was very poor and I had to put my dog down. They gave me the opportunity to visit him twice and spend time with him before and after he passed. And for that I am truly grateful and appreciative, especially during this pandemic. (Yes, they did their due diligence and comply with COVID-19 restrictions; check my temperature etc.) Thank you truly.

Thanks for giving up on TIMBER so that he could go somewhere people cared about him and believed in second chances.... this baby has a new lease on life and has been adopted... NO THANKS TO YOU!!!

I brought my cat to the Toronto Animal Health Partners Emergency and Specialty Hospital today. My cat has not urinated for the last three days and it was an urgency matter to bring my cat to the vet clinic. I was pleasantly surprised how fast the emergency team took care of my cat. they did all necessary tests to understand the cause of the blockage of urinary bladder. The doctor performed the treatment and I could go home with my cat on the same day. Moreover, the doctor explained me the cause of the my cat's condition, and how I should take care of my cat. I found that the team members were very kind, professional and unbiased. I would like thank Dr. Barbara Bryer and her team, and front desk for such great work.

Make sure that your pet is not treated as a critical condition or you will pay a premium for no treatment. Too busy to take care of patients that are not considered critical. Does not provide updates about your pet as promised.

I've been here a few times before, each time with compassionate and prompt care, which is why I knew this was the place to go when my kitty was very unwell. They took her in quickly and was able to get answers about her sickness right away, despite her being a very skittish and uncooperative cat. They updated me about everything and the doctor notified me of my options constantly, including matters of price. Her advice saved my sweet kitty. They advised that my cat stay overnight and I was able to sleep peacefully that night, knowing she was in the best of care. They also updated me every few hours, and when they forgot to, they were very kind when I called in seeking updates. My cat came back after about 36 hours, revived on IV fluids and medications, and was completely recovered! My only complaints about my experience here are: when I brought my cat in, unfortunately my carrier had straw in it (used it for transporting a feral a little while before) and I was unable to clean in out before taking her in the rush. They returned her to me with the straw in, and she peed herself in there, and she was covered in straw all over and it took more than a day to clean that up. I don't blame them for this, but I do wish they gave me a quick phone call to ask if they could throw the straw out since it was messy. Next, I had to call for advice regarding medication administration the day after discharge. The doctor I spoke to (who wasn't her doctor from the day before) was very dismissive of what I was saying and kept reminding me that I should just call my family vet if I have more questions. This was on a Sunday at 8pm, and my family vet wasn't even open, so that wasn't an option. I thought this hospital would be best to call since they treated my cat. In any case, my cat is doing tremendously better now and I am so grateful I took her here. Services are costly but that's because they are an emergency facility and they truly are the best. FYI: GET PET INSURANCE!! I hope I never have to be back, but if I do, I know where to go!

This clinic was super helpful and encouraging when I sought help for a sick stray cat. The city’s services (311 and Toronto Animal Services) failed to help (despite it so clearly being their job to do so) and I desperately wanted to get this poor sick cat some help. This emergency clinic helped the cat and even kept him for two days until he could be taken in by TAS. They cared for him, fed him, and kept him comfortable, when they really didn’t have to at all (I was told later told by TAS that this clinic doesn’t help strays, only they do). This facility and its staff clearly care for animals and truly do what they do out of love for animals. I’m glad this facility exists and recommend it highly.

Had to take my 6 year old poodle there as he ingested a chicken skewer. He required surgery and ICU care for 3 days post OP. I don't normally take the time to write reviews, however, I wanted to share the experience I received from the hospital. The care my pup received was outstanding. Everyone I spoke to had his best interest in mind. They made my family and myself feel comfortable and confident while they had him in their care. They provided updates whenever I called and were happy to assist me in any way possible. They were able to submit my claim to my insurance company which made my experience that much easier. Overall I was very happy with their service and would recommend them to anyone looking for care for their furry friend.

This is, hands down, the best emergency vet clinic I’ve been too. I followed Dr. Litchenberger from TVEH to Animal Health Partners because he is really great at what he does. He has a great bedside manner and is very patient and gentle with my grumpy, mean old cat. The entire cardiology department is great! Reception is honestly a pleasure to deal with and they are so quick with medication refills and various requests.

AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS!! Incredibly disgusted with the lack of care and professionalism this place lacks. If you want your pet to die sooner than expected- take them here. I took my dog go Dr. Gagnon who is an oncologist here and let me tell you this doctor doesn’t know the first thing abojt his job. First off when he speaks to you he’s questioning his own sentences and constantly correcting himself and when you ask for his opinion since I mean after all he is the doctor he’ll simply reply with - “well I’m not too sure that’s your choice”. When I took my dog for the initial visit he told me there was no point in doing a X-ray or ultersound because he could just tell from looking at her she had cancer… mind you if I had the option to go anywhere else I would’ve but every single other clinic in the GTA was scheduled months in and my vet told me I needed an oncologist ASAP. This doctor doesn’t know the first to the last thing about his position and worst part is he’s always on vacation or always needs to reschedule your dogs chemotherapy every week. He has no consideration for anyone else. Then it’s the clinic- there is a serious lack of miscommunication between the staff as they too, have no idea what their doing. One example their ventilator hood broke and they told me they had no idea when it was going to be repaired and the delay in treating my dog could have a potential risk on her getting better but they couldn’t do anything about it. The manager of this place is even worse than the doctors and staff at this clinic combined- I think they found him on the street and asked him to manage this clinic. ALL IN ALL, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

We were running around in our back yard playing with Mia when she ran full tilt into our boat trailor. She had a cut on the top of her head. I called the emergency vet immediately and they told me to bring her right in. Thankfully she did not need stitches as it was not as bad as I feared. They cleaned her wound and gave me some antiseptic to use for the next few days. I am so happy they were able to see her right away and put my mind at ease. Her head had to be shaved to assess the area so she looks a little like Moe from the Three Stooges, but I was assured it will grow back. Thank you everyone for your kindness, professionalism and good care. Sincerely, Mia's Mom.

After a very stressful 24 hours I finally got to TAHP from another clinic that was literally just out for my money and feeding on my desperation to get my baby treated. Anyways, I finally get to TAHP and the atmosphere and staff are completely different. Really genuinely caring about the animals. A technician JP even offered to take us on a tour of the facilities so I'd feel completely comfortable with Akaris stay. On top of that they allowed me to be in the assessment room which the other clinic did not (weird as hell if you ask me). They were very understanding and reassuring. I left feeling relieved not extra worried like I did at the other place. You'd think loving animals is a given for this job but some people just see dollar signs. If you're looking for a good clinic THIS IS YOUR BEST BET. Take it from a very attached doggie mama. If you love your dogs you want to feel like people love them to ESPECIALLY those responsible for treating her. I felt that way here and was so relieved after the terrible experience I had at the other place.... prices for 3 days treatment equaled 12 hr treatment at the other place. Thank you so much TAHP. I know my baby is still there for the next 72 hrs but I know she's in good hands ♥ Thank you for taking such good care of my baby and making sure you're doing everything to make her comfortable UPDATE: Vet originally said she may need an xray ($300) to see why akari was vomitting but nothing was coming out (thinking it was from the nintendo switch controller she ate). She worked together with her team and found that it was the meds that was making her a little queasy and told me she didn't need to! I love that they put the extra effort to find the issue instead of immediately exposing my sweetie to xrays n_n Thank you TAHP! You just keep raising the bar.

I am not saying this hospital did anything to my cat. But I am just writing this down because I found what happened. I brought my cat to his regular vet and did a check up and they found nothing out of the ordinary nor did I. The next day I brought my cat to his appointment at the hospital they mentioned nothing out of the ordinary. I got home and found a bruise that was red and purple on his bottom lip. Now I’m not saying that he got hurt from the vet at the hospital because when I brought him to the regular vet they did not say anything and they did a physical exam on my cat. If they found anything they would have let me know. I didn’t notice anything different after going to our regular vet but right after he came home from the hospital I noticed it. I don’t know what happened, maybe they were a bit rough on my cat when examining him? I paid for an examination so I would think they would let me know if he had a bruise on his bottom lip? I also paid for a blood work and no one followed up with me, leading me to chase after the results. Now I will not say this place was “bad” or had “bad” service but I think maybe they could be more tentative/careful? I am in no way saying this is a bad hospital because their efforts are all appreciated and I will be going back in case anything has happened to my pet. But this is just something to take into consideration.

Reception was so nonchalant, slow and disinterested in the fact my dog was writhing in pain, I decided this hospital would not be a great fit for me and went elsewhere. After reading these other reviews, I’m glad I did.

Amazing place!!!!

We are incredibly thankful for the care they provided our kitten. Our small kitten got caught under a chair when it tipped over with our large cat on top and suffered a lot of trauma. Locally we only have on-call vets on weeknights and weekends and after brining her there to be assessed and stabilized, we had to transport her 4 hours to reach the nearest critical care pet hospital. Our kitten suffered head trauma and was in very bad shape. She stayed here for 4 days and got constant care since she had to have meds administered multiple times a day, be fed and watered every couple of hours and be placed into a litter box when needed. They took excellent care of her and took the time during the day to keep us up-to-date on her condition. We appreciate everything they did to give her the best prognosis while not pushing extra costly tests or surgery that they didn't believe was needed.

Dr. Lichtenberger and the cardiology team are amazing - very knowledgeable and compassionate, and very gentle with animals that have anxiety visiting vets. However, the admin staff are very rude (especially Diana) and make a lot of mistakes. They book appointments in the wrong year (i.e. you make an appointment in 2020 and they schedule it for 2019), they say they have left messages for vets to call you back and don't actually do so, and when you email asking for prescription refills, the admin staff often do not forward your email on to the appropriate department. One of the receptionists Diana was very rude to me over the phone when I was following up on an email I had sent a few days earlier. She kept insisting that I had already received a response when I had not, and then was annoyed that I was following up by phone to confirm that my email had been received. The admin staff need to realize that when you bring your pets into a hospital, being rude to clients who are worried and anxious is counterproductive. A little compassion goes a long way.

Staff is caring and are always there for my baby Casper

More than a year after my dog's death, and I still struggle when I drive down Leslie St. near this place. I told the doctor that I would never allow my dog to go under anesthesia because of his age and the risk of death. And what does she give him for a cat scan -- general anesthesia. He died when we got home. SHE DIDN'T LISTEN! I will forever feel that I failed to protect my boy by trusting that doctor and this place.

Laura Ross

We had an emergency neurology issue for our dog Maggie. Dr. Marchal was able to get an MRI done immediately and since then has been providing exceptional post crisis advice for her care. The entire team has been so supportive and helpful. Can't say enough about our experience. Thanks to all!

George Kye

Avoid if you can. They just want your money. Clearly told them all about my puppy’s condition, was told it was okay to bring her. They didn’t have any of the tools needed on site and nothing much could be done for her. BUT WHY WASNT I INFORMED ABOUT THIS BEFOREHAND? I GAVE THEN ALL THE INFORMATION NEEDED. But guess what? I still had to pay $240 for a shot of benadryl + consultation, which didn’t do anything for her frankly. I came at a moment of need looking for help but left feeling defeated and cheated by experts I thought I could whole heartedly trust. Sad

My 14-year old beagle was referred for after hours care for intervertebral disc disease. He was in considerable pain. The staff saw him promptly within the first hour after arriving. After examining and administering pain management, the vet called and provided a thorough explanation with treatment and answered all my questions. Fortunately his condition is mild and he is recovering well. After reading other reviews on social media, it seems that we pet owners owe more empathy to those who help our pets in need. I'm grateful for having a service like this which is nearby and accepts patients 24 hours a day. Thank you for your service.

I would definitely not use this place for emergency services. Our beloved dog was taken there and misdiagnosed as they did no tests and prescribed a medication for neuropathic pain. We were told to follow that if he got to the point where he could not walk it would be deemed an emergency. This happened late at night and he was taken back and they refused to see him stating they were busy. I cant believe the negligence. My beloved dog was put to sleep within 2 weeks. Had they done what was necessary it if very possible that with proper management this outcome may have been different or at least managed in a way that was more dignified for my beloved pet. He was taken there because they are full service and had the means to run the right tests, they just didn't seem to care enough to bother.

They should remove any discussion of "emergency" from their business profile because they have no idea about what constitutes one.

My cat had been diagnosed with FCE he got paralyzed and was almsot dying back in Feb , we took him to animal partners. Dr Kilbourn and Dr Marshal been amazing they explained everything to us what we can do. My cat was hospitalized there for a week, from the staff to Doctors everyone were so sincere. We brought him home after a week he is recovering now. We had our follow up app with Dr Marshal he is very patient answer all our questions and concerns. My experience with this facility is beyond amazing. I highly recommend them if your pet needs any special care.

If you find yourself in the unfortunate circumstance of needing an emergency veterinary clinic, I couldn’t recommend Toronto Animal Health Partners more. Dr. Lydia Pan is an exceptional Veterinarian and took not only amazing care of our dog George but also took care to ensure that my partner and I understood every big medical word and thing that was going on. From the lovely intake staff to Julia in the billing department, Toronto Animal Health Partners, amidst a global pandemic, made the most stressful time in our life an easy process. Forever grateful for the services we received here. George, Claire, and Jon.

This is a fantastic place and everyone is extremely friendly and professional. Dr. Lichtenberger is the cardiologist for my dog and he is amazing at what he does. He is friendly, professional, and approachable to both my fiance and I and he is extremely gentle with my dog. I would highly recommed Dr. Lichtenberger. Dr. Reynolds is a surgeon and has seen my Frenchie in passing for re-bandaging my dog's broken leg while my dog was in patient for her balloon valvuloplasty surgery with Dr. Lichtenberger. She did an amazing job with bandaging my dog's broken leg at the time. Dr. Kilburn has seen my other pug in the past at another referral but he has since moved to AHP. He is an amazing neurologist and gives you realistic and feasible options.

From the moment I stepped into the doors, each and every person we spoke to were so kind and compassionate with us. The 404 emergency hospital in newmarket misdiagnosed my 14 year old dogLuna with an ACL tear(two doctors examined her) and when Debbie Reynolds at Toronto Animal Health examined her she knew right away it was her hip that popped out of the socket. She performed the surgery the next day just for Luna, and I have to say this was by far the best care you will ever get for your baby! They even sent me photos from her at the hospital. If you want the best care for your pet and the most professionalism, come here! This is an extremely clean, OUTSTANDING hospital with the best of the best. Thank you so much to everyone!!

Fantastic veterinary care center. Excellent facilities with specialized healthcare professionals. Your pet will be in good hands.

I came in with my dog about 10pm as our regular Vet was not open. We saw Dr Blake and explained to him that we were worried that our pet had swallowed something as she hadn't eaten and had been vomiting for 2 days. He was half asleep and the part that really bothered me was he kept referring to my dogs condition as "not exciting". Kept saying the symptoms are "not exciting". Im not even really sure what that means, why do they have to be exciting? And what exactly would be exciting for you? Eventually he gives us a few options of ways to diagnose what is wrong, he recommends the x-ray so we go that route. After they do what they need to do, we sit down with him and he says he can't tell anything from the X-ray..... Apparently it will only pick up solid objects, we were not told this initially or we would have opted for an Ultrasound. It was a complete waste of $700, pointless stress for my dog, and unnecessary frustration for my wife and I. I will never come back here again, I have never met a doctor this unprofessional and careless with his "I don't even want to be here" attitude towards us or our pet. Go somewhere else and don't waste your time. You are better off googling symptoms then going here.

Sandra C

They were the only place that would see my cat on such short notice during COVID. Most of the staff seemed very caring and compassionate. However, I was not a fan of when I asked if there were any payment options for this emergency, the vet. decided to lecture me as to how they were not a bank lending out money when I was simply trying to gather info. and understand all of my options on a potential $4,000+ bill. A simple "no, that's not an option unfortunately" would have sufficed in this regard instead of making someone feel guilty about not being able to afford emergency diagnostics during a pandemic.

ci ci

I visited because I feared my cat’s tail was broken after getting slammed in a door. Staff was responsive, kind and helpful. After a quick assessment, they recommended we go home and not wait to see the vet as damage was minimal. Was not charged a penny and felt very cared for. Thank you!!!!

Sahar Ghayedi

Honestly I would have given this place half a star if possible. The nurses are nice, but the vet is exceptionally rude, Greedy and ill behaved. If you value your money or more importantly value your pet’s life, avoid this place. It was the worst decision to bring my pet to this place.

Our little shih-tzu had to have emergency spinal surgery in January. Dr. Killburn & the entire team were such a blessing to us. From the moment our Bella was admitted we were treated with so much kindness , respect & understanding. Reception ladies were amazing , handling payments over the phone , (covid protocol)and they took time to explain everything on the invoice and any questions we had. The team really made us feel as comfortable as possible during an awful time. Surgery was a huge success , incision was stitched beautifully and has barely left a scar. Dr.Killburn kept us updated everyday during hospitalization , and referred us an amazing rehab facility for after surgery. All in all I am highly impressed and would recommend this hospital to handle & care for your furry loved ones.

Tasha Vitelli

Thank you Dr. Merhkens and all the staff for you care and attentiveness. We were able to get our french bull dog in on short notice and were very happy with the service provided as always from you guys!

Took my dog here late last night, around 10:45pm, after noticing he was dribbling and walking a bit wobbly. The staff was very professional when I spoke to them on the phone and when we arrived at the hospital. They took very good care of him while they were examining him. Took about 2 hours to get everything done but considering this is an emergency hospital I was expecting it to take a while. The cost was expected as well, I paid $200, $60 for emergency services and $120 for consultation, which is similar to my vet’s cost.

I am so grateful to Dr. Kim, Deborah Woodrow and staff at this emergency hospital for their expertise, professionalism, caring and empathy towards my collie Daisy Mae. I will always have the love and joy of cats and dogs in my life, and when I have to deal with the inevitable serious medical and emergency issues, this is without doubt the only place I will want to bring them to, as this clinic is far above any other I have attended over the years.

angel k

My cat, Lulu, was a patient here for just over a year. She saw Dr.Pan, Rachel, And Dr.Wesgarth...and even became a friend of one of the front desk staff, Tessa! All of them were amazing, dedicated, and cared for her as if she was their own. I was never worried when she was in their care as I knew she was in good hands. Unfortunately, we lost Lulu just about a month ago. But I continue to tell family and friends about AHP if they are ever in need. I am so grateful for your hard work, dedication, and endless love you give to these animals. I’ll always come back to AHP if ever in need. Highly recommend!

A few days ago, my puppy was not doing well so I took her to the vet and they tested for parvo and what not. Later on, she collapsed and was not doing well so I called multiple animal hospitals trying to find one that had space or was open. AHP was the 7th animal hospital in the GTA I attempted, and after explaining my puppies symptoms and saying I think she may have parvo, they said to bring her in they will take her. I ubered 20 minutes from downtown with my puppy barely hanging on. I get there, they took her in. About 5 minutes later they came back out with her and told me they aren't taking possible cases of Parvo and the ICU is full. WHAT?! They told me to bring her in after I already said all her symptoms!! I then had to rush in an uber another 20 minutes away to another emergency hospital where she has been in critical condition since. Extremely disappointed in the wasted time rushing to this location after being told to come, only to be turned away. Heart breaking.

Never Again

Please do not take your precious pet to this place. It's an animal assembly line that will not care for your pet as you think they might. There's too many sick animals and not enough doctors. Our cat was there for 36 hours and when we finally got him out of there he was on deaths door, far worse than when he went in. It was impossible to speak with a doctor, the vet techs all had different 'stories' as to the care/condition of our pet, the place was locked-up due to Covid and we couldn't get our pet out of there without a doctors permission but they couldn't get a doctor to call us because they were too busy. We've never felt so helpless.....our stress levels were through the roof. The only way we were able to get him out of there was to say we had urgent/emergency information we had to tell the doctor right away, then we finally spoke with someone who could discharge him. This place is all about the money, NOT pet care.

Veronica Davis

Summary: I was told my puppy was going to die and and even stayed in ICU for a few days for a ton of tests since his condition was rare and unknown. I got him discharged for financial reasons and brought him to my family vet. Family vet told us the numbers on the blood test were normal for his breed. However he might've had a minor heatstroke which was why he wasn't feeling well. It has been a month since we left the hospital. My puppy grew 8kg and is running, jumping, eating, playing like a normal puppy. I agree with the review that tells you to bring your pet and money elsewhere. You'll probably get ripped off for being desperate to save your pet. Initially I trusted the hospital a lot. We brought our puppy in one evening on the weekend since he wasn't eating or drinking. We had a vet appointment a few days after for this problem but we saw that he had a fever and got worried. Due to covid we needed to call the hospital upon arrival. We can't remember her name anymore but the lady that picked up the phone was extremely rude. Since English isn't our first language, speaking was a bit difficult. We were told that she doesn't understand anything we're saying and that she's very busy since she needs to pick up a lot of emergency calls. I felt so embarrassed to beg her to listen because I need my puppy to be saved. We were asked if we are willing to pay for ICU if it was really necessary and we said that we would have to DISCUSS IT FIRST for financial reasons. She said okay and that a doctor would call us back after 6 hours to let us know how everything was going. However we never got a call back. We called in the morning and the first thing we were asked for is Money to cover ICU when we never told them the final answer of if we could afford ICU yet or not. The vet told us that his test results aren't looking good and that we need to keep our puppy in ICU for another night to see if he will be better after IV fluid. I am just so sick that tests are run every 4 hours to see if our puppy is okay but after spending 3 days in ICU and they still didn't know what was wrong. We were only told that it's a very serious condition and that he needs to stay for another day, and another day, and another day. Until we decided that perhaps we just cannot afford to save this puppy's life. We asked to have him discharged for financial reasons. A male nurse helped us through the phone. The reason I would give this hospital an extra star would just be because of him. He was the only one that was understanding that pet owners are not made of money and told us that everything should be okay. Our puppy was discharged. This hospital apparently still has no idea what's wrong with him. No medication was given to him. All of our savings are spent for what seems like for no reason. We brought our puppy back to a family vet to run tests instead and everything about him was normal. Our family vet also stated that the blood test might have thrown the hospital off because of his breed. I can't believe how unexpectedly unprofessional the hospital was. I read reviews that you should take your money and pet elsewhere which is true. Maybe it was simply that no one at this hospital wanted to take the responsibility to say that my puppy was okay.

Thank you so much for helping my kitten! Tahp was outstanding, thank you!

Our 7mo old Loki was referred to AHP as he was diagnosed with severe pulmonic stenosis and was in need of a heart surgery/balloon valvuloplasty asap. We had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Jonathan Lichtenberger and the staff in the cardiology team. Each visit we had prior and for the surgery staff was always kind and courteous with us and always confirmed what was being done prior to going ahead with it They were all awesome even though Loki was prob not the easiest pupper to calm down seeing this was his first ever time away from home for over 2 days. Throughout the whole time Loki was there Dr. J.L. kept us updated every 4-6 hours on how he was doing and what they were doing for him. He always took the time to explain and answer questions we had without making us feel rushed or as if we were just another case. He offered honest and medically sound advise while making us feel more like family rather then just a patient. This was appreciated to both calm our minds and give us a chance to know what was happening with our boy thought the day/night. Lokis surgery wasn't exactly normal/average procedure and required some special attention to detail and skilled hands. In all aspects the team at AHP took good care of him! If covid19 wasn't an issue at the time we would all(Loki included) love to give a hug to Dr. Lichtenberger and all the staff that took care of our boy. We love you all and words cannot express how much we appreciate what you do and for taking care of our little one. He's got a long road to 100% recovery but we'll take it one paw at a time.

Don't waste your time. Spent 3000 dollars knowing there was something wrong with my dog, and was constantly told she was fine as they were trying to get her out the door. Paid for an internal medicine consult and never heard anything from the specialist. Coming home, nothing has changed and my dog is still unwell. Each day it was like pulling teeth to try and hear anything about my dog (no updates in 12 hours), and constantly met with rude receptionists when trying to just see how she was doing. Go somewhere else.

Renee Beauchamp

Only been once but had a very positive experience with this new place. They were able to accommodate an emergent situation without issue, price was very fair, staff was amazzzzing, follow up occurred. I'm particularly happy since Toronto's downtown VEC had been overwhelmed so TAHP was needed and there. Pressure on all is (hopefully) reduced and our pets can receive emergent care, as needed.

Miki Park

Brought my dog in and I was honestly nervous because most emergency hospitals charge you high prices but this emergency clinic was very professional especially during COVID. Everything with the charges made sense and did not have any problems with the pricing and they especially made sure if I was okay with any medically procedure and pricing before they performed it on my dog. They also throughly describes what was wrong with my dog and gave me advices. I 100% recommend this hospital for any emergency care as I can see they cared for my dogs well-being!

Annie Liu

Most professional doctors and kindest staffs!Worth driving a long way to get my sick cat to be healthy again. Staffs really want the best and try the best to help for me and my pet. Love this hospital than all other ones. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Jessica Wright

Very nice, clean facilities. The staff here were very professional and did an amazing job with my little morkie. Dr. Reynolds performed a lung lobectomy perfectly! I'm so grateful for all of the staff at this hospital, those late night workers who stabilized him, the Vets who assessed him and performed the necessary surgery and aftercare, and all the staff who took care of him in the days following. Another very special thank you to Dr. Reynolds!!

Lara Williston

I cannot recommend this hospital enough! My poor little cat, Frank, decided to eat a needle and thread and the whole team was amazing in handling this stressful situation. I was pretty emotional when I called and the receptionist was so lovely and patient with me on the phone. The emergency doctor who examined him was really thorough in giving me all the information I needed. Then when it was found he needed surgery, Dr Mehrkens was so great at talking me through the cost and procedures, as well as informing me of some potential things that could go wrong and keeping me up to date after the surgery. Luckily the outcome was as good as could be hoped for and he's on the road to recovery. Thank you all so much for everything you did!

Laura Dent

I had a recent potential emergency with my 18 year old cat. From the first telephone contact late at night, until I had a diagnosis and treatment, everyone I spoke to was professional, empathetic, understanding and available to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend them and would definitely return if I need to in the future.

Pierre Bertrand

Was a solid five star the first time we brought in our dog. Fast, super nice people, excellent care. Second time was a 1 star (so average at 3 for now). No one in the waiting room when I arrived except me. Excellent and friendly staff at the front desk as usual. But waited over an hour, watching other patients go into waiting rooms. Some kind of party in the back with piza delivery so I guess most of the vets were not available. Left. Update Sept 13: Again a solid 5 star for the front desk staff. Unfortunately, it was 6:45, I called, there is no one waiting. I come in and am told by the vet on staff it would be probably 9 am before a more thorough eam can be done because it is the changeover between the night and day crews. Left and went to my regular vet. Knocked down the review to 2 stars.

Monica Ahmed

If I could give AHP 6 stars, I would. Knowledgeable, transparent and so kind! If you find yourself in the unfortunate position that your pet needs emergency attention, I highly recommend this facility. Thank you to every single person at AHP - you are so very appreciated!

Ricardo Galvan

Our puppy had parvo and was really sick, but with the excellent care and proper treatment she is fully recovered now and very playful! Thanks to all of the Toronto Animal Health Partners staff and doctors, they really helped us navigate this crisis. We had a lot of communication from them and they explained every procedure with a lot of patience!

Catherine Gong

Thank you so much Animal Health Partners! Dr. Reynolds is the surgeon who operated on my dog's giant lipoma. She has been gentle, kind, and EXTREMELY patient with us. God knows how anxious and scared I would have been without Dr. Reynolds around. She explained the diagnosis and steps of the procedure in layman's terms, which made us feel a lot more confident leaving our dog in her care. Also special thanks to Karla, who took amazing care of my dog after the surgery, and the receptionists who always made us feel so welcome!

Mark Kennard

I have to commend this hospital and staff. I Am Amanda Kostynyk and i am using my husbands account ( hence the name Mark Kennard) but i bring my 16 year old dog, Laci regularly to weekly cardiologist appointments. The team is amazing and one can tell, just on speaking to Dr. Litchenburger, that he is passionate about helping and that he is very knowledgeable. The technicians, Dianne and Amanda are always very warm and caring too and gentle with Laci. Felicia is so friendly and you just know your pet is in safe hands going in with her. And Julia, the cardiologist administration assistant is always so bubbly and friendly when she speaks to me. Last week Laci had internal bleeding after a cytology. The cardiologist took Laci right away to ICU and Dr. Coady and her team got right to getting a blood transfusion ready so as to save Lacis life. Had it not been for the wonderful and knowledgeable cardiology team as well as Dr. Coady and her ICU team, our baby would not be here anymore. They kept us up to date on Laci and that her status was improving. She stayed overnight and was able to come home after 24 hours. Dr. Litchenburger was kind enough to snap some photos of Laci receiving her transfusion and send them to me the night Laci was admitted to ICU. I smiled for the first time in hours since crying and I felt so happy to see that...I posted the pic in the photos here on the website! The little black dog receiving a transfusion in the baby crib! How cute is she! Both my husbands and my emotions were tested That night as we were so worried about Laci. Again I felt such relief when I saw the picture of Laci in ICU stable. And I really need to thank the whole facility for their world class care Laci receives there. Our other dog, Barnaby has been in a few times too for minor things such as an ultrasound and acid reflux. Again he was treated excellent also with wonderful recommendations from Dr. Pan and Dr. Breyer. We have visited every 24 hour hospital in the GTA area and none even come close to Animal Health and their knowledge. We are devoted customers for our pets given the expertise and knowledge and how well run this facility is. I also must commend all the front desk ladies. Whenever I called whether for an appointment or for updates, theyare so friendly and so cordial. They are just so warm and you feel so confident your pet is at the right place. We have referred many friends and family to not only Dr. Litchenburger but to the facility for other needs. Dr.Litchenburger is the best cardiologist in the GTA as we have met them all! Update: in March 2021 sadly our baby Laci passed away just after her 16 th birthday. She was in ER at AHP during her passing but the staff was just as excellent and wonderful. I was a wreck and as any owner, was questioning things and in disbelief that my baby was so sick. Unfortunately her heart just could not take anymore. I miss her dearly still to this day. Thanks to Dr Coady and Dr Brown and Dr Litchenbutger ( and his lovely team!) and the lady doctor from Scotland ( so sorry but I forgot your name!) and the ER techs Lily and a man named Anson ( I think? Or something similar to that ) and all the front desk staff. I hope I did not leave everyone out! Initially I questioned some of Lacis treatment protocols but I was in such emotional distress over losing her. This hospital is first class and so are the doctors and staff. We have since relocated to South Carolina this summer and have three new amazing rescues from Texas. We live right near an ER animal hospital and My hope is that when I have to go there, they are as qualified and good and compassionate as AHP is. '

Our girl Autumn, a three year old Mastiff Mix, was referred to AHP due to significant ongoing liver and gallbladder issues (as we understood it then) From the moment we arrived, anxious, and scared, after referral from Brantford to Toronto, we knew that at the very least, Autumn would be in good hands. In less than 24 hours, we received the clarity we had been seeking for an extended period of time that we were never able to track down. Our girl was too sick to save, and humane euthanasia was the only option that would see her comfortable and at peace. The entire Internal Medicine team at AHP were sympathetic, informative, and kind throughout this experience. They made a terrible situation one that we could live with, and the depth of information they shared ensured that we were confident with that choice. I apologize as I can't recall the names of all staff who helped us, but I do want to acknowledge the incredible work of Dr. Archee, Dr. Westgarth, and Stacey, the Internal Medicine Coordinator. Autumn crossed the rainbow bridge last night, after giving us one final push of happy zoom zooming, barking, running along the fence, and eating treats in the sunshine all day with her little brother. Thank you.

When our golden retriever, Tucker started having seizures we were lucky to find Dr. Kilburn. One neurosurgery later and Tucker's recovery has been nothing short of remarkable. TAHP is a new operation which has obviously pulled out all stops to be the best in Toronto. The staff are caring and created a continuous link between themselves our dog and us so we were always aware what was going on. The facilities are new and filled with state of the art equipment so our dog received the best chance possible - no second guessing about whether we should be somewhere else. And the specialists were all top notch. I also appreciated that they were not a "billing machine" and talked through options. Just like humans want the best care possible, pets who come here will feel they get that here. Well done TAHP.

A truly amazing hospital with a team that is super friendly, caring, knowledgeable and skilled. Wait times and prices are reasonable. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fast service and great staff. Helped with my dog immediately.

Very impressed by the quality of care, thoroughness, thoughtful follow-up, detailed explanation of procedures and alternatives. Very happy to have found them and highly recommend.

Such an amazing facility with caring people. Our Otis was there in April and they took such good care of him and every person we met was so kind and genuinely concerned about his well being. We went back there on a Sunday when Otis passed at home and got the same treatment. Dr Bryer is so compassionate and even took the time to call me the next day so I could ask her more questions. While I hope we don’t ever have to go back with our Lola I feel good knowing that we have this facility in the city.

I highly recommend this hospital. 1.5 years ago my female Coton De Tulear went from healthy and walking to being paralyzed in the hind end in a matter of 3 hours, all without any obvious signs of trauma. I rushed her to an emergency clinic and she was quickly diagnosed with IVDD (herniated disk) and was referred to Toronto Animal Health Partners. By the time we reached the hospital she had no deep pain sensation and thus the prognosis of retaining mobility was only 25%. Following an MRI to confirm the diagnosis Dr. Kilburn operated. Immediately following the surgery, Dr. Kilburn telephoned me to provide an update. He was kind, compassionate, and patient in helping me understand the surgery and prognosis. In the end, my girl regained full mobility as a result of the surgical expertise of Dr. Kilburn and the high-tech equipment used to both diagnose and guide the surgery. During her post-op care, the staff kept me apprised of her health status and progress every step of the way. (Keep in mind that this was during Covid and hence no face-to-face communication was allowed). I later learned that the Coton De Tulear is another breed prone to IVDD and I knew there was the possibility for further herniated disk ruptures. This morning it happened again. From previous experience, I knew the signs and symptoms and immediately called the hospital. I was given an appointment at 12:00 pm, with Dr. Marchal (neurosurgeon), she had an MRI by mid-afternoon whereupon she was diagnosed with a herniated disk this time in her neck and was in surgery by 6:00 pm. At 8:00 pm I received a call from Dr. Marchal who reported the surgery was successful and my girl is expected to fully recover. I am so incredibly thankful to Dr. Marchal and the entire Neurology Team at Animal Health Partners. What incredible work they do. I highly recommend them however, for this level of expertise and services one needs to be prepared for the price tag that accompanies it.

I want to thank all staffs in ICU for your best care. My lovely friend Coco was diagnosed with an awful infection and she was fighting hard. Coco was getting best care from your staff and we are very thankful for that. It was very tough time for us but everyone was supportive. Everyday we got very clear update from doctors and staffs sent us pictures of Coco. I am so thankful for Dr Crandell who provided best care to Coco but also for us as well. When we had to put down Coco, it was first time for us but she was there to help and support us. Thank you for giving us more time with Coco.

By far the best experience I have ever had with a veterinary team. Edouard / team went above and beyond treated my girl as if she was their own. Sora is doing great and we have all you to thank !!

What an amazing experience. From our first phone call, bringing our cat in and then to bringing our baby home. We were thoroughly impressed with the care and attention every single person in this clinic gave both us and our Cat. The receptionists were really helpful and reassuring. The technicians and Doctors are knowledgeable, kind and took the time to explain everything to us. Overall, this place was top notch! Highly recommend

I need to say Thank you to the neurology team at Animal Health Partners for saving our precious Frenchie, Blue. When it comes to emergency situations don’t take your pet anywhere else. Thursday morning we noticed Blue wasn’t walking properly, and was not using his hind legs properly, we brought him to our regular vet who kept him for 3 hours and gave him back to us $600 later with no answers and told us to let them know if he improved or deteriorated the next day. Well he Deteriorated and lost all use of his hind legs , he was panting and shaking uncontrollably and writhing in pain. He also began losing bladder control. I knew this could be serious so I started looking for well equipped veterinary clinics and found Animal Health Partners. Had I brought Blue to any other clinic they would have ended up referring us to Animal Health Partners anyways because they are one of the only Veterinary Clinics with MRIs and CT scans , neurology, cardiology departments and diagnostic equipment. Long story short, after Blue’s deterioration I did some quick research online found out that his symptoms were most likely due to IVDD Intra-Vertrebal Disc Disease (if you have a Frenchie or please google this and learn how to prevent it) it is life threatening and requires surgery for good outcomes. I called Animal Health Partners and in a matter of 1 hour Blue was with the neurologist , and hour after that I had a full quote and 15 min call with the neurologist (Dr.Marschal) explaining what they thought, options etc , Blue had Surgery to repair his spinal chord a few hours later. The clinic kept me up to date at all times and every time I called for updates I felt welcome to do so and always got all info . Blue is home 5 days post surgery and our trouble is getting him to rest. He is acting like his old normal self thanks to this amazing team. Keep up the good work and thanks for giving us back our happy boy!

called yesterday to ask a follow up question, spoke to a receptionist named diana, very rude and unprofessional. called back later at night and was able to talk to someone and get the answers I needed, generally the reception staff are mean and rude, best to call late at night to book an appointment or ask questions, the late night staff seem to be nicer

My cat has a history of swallowing random stuff and gets stuck in stomach/intestine. Common symptoms being consistently throwing up, lose of appetite, decreased energy level, etc. Same symptoms were occurring yesterday, so as soon as I got off work, called my vet, who recommenced me to go seek Toronto Animal Health Partners for immediate help and possible surgery if needed. I got to the hospital around 6:00 pm, there was no one in the triage/waiting area, so me and my wife were directed to go to consulting room# 2. Vet came by, asked regular questions that any Vet would ask, and told us that in order to find out what is wrong with my cat, we will have to go through radiology and he will be right back. When asked how long it will take today, he said not too long. At 8:00 pm, we were still in the same room, no one coming by to take my cat to radiology, nor tell us what is going on. I asked technicians at the reception, who told me that more urgent emergency occurred, so that is why we were being delayed. I do understanding that this place is for emergency, but customers should at least be warned of potential delay and be updated. Also, another technician at the reception even told me that she didn't even know we were still in room# 2 but told us radiology was done. I almost lost at this point saying that my distressed cat, my wife and myself was in room# 2 for almost 2 hrs and no one came for us and obviously no radiology was done. At 8:30 pm, we still haven't heard from anyone in the clinic, but at the time, my cat was showing better vital & decreased symptoms, so we decided to leave. Upon leaving, same vet came by, apologizing but I told him that I understand your business, but if my cat's status wasn't urgent, I wouldn't have come to emergency clinic either. All people who comes to this place comes with urgent matter of their own. I have been to multiple emergency clinics throughout GTA, Barrie, Guelph area past 10 years or so, but this was THE WORST emergency clinic I have ever been to so far. All emergency clinics have delays and customers get it, but what we don't get is the fact they only try to justify their delay first, way before trying to comfort the customers & pets in need. You may say this may be 1 incident, but to the visiting customer, that is the only incident they will remember.

When my yellow lab Choco suffered a spinal injury in 2019 we received the most incredible care from Dr Kilbourn, Dr Lovell and later Dr Marchal. The team was compassionate, thorough, took time to explain diagnosis and options. Choco made a full recovery and we felt very well cared for!

It was an emergency. My dog was bleeding from his mouth and blood in stool. We couldn't figure out what was wrong. Dr. Tindall took Charlie, put him out and sutchered his tongue which was the proglem. She took tests to rule out other things, we had treatment in under one hour. She is very compassionate and really spent time speaking with me in detail. She came back with good news and I said I'm so relived, and the doctor said she was too, which told me she really cares. Charlie has been with us with 9 years and helps me with anxiety. He's like one of my best friends, thank you so much. Charlie was back home with little discomfort and perscriptions to avoid infections, soft food, and is sleeping a lot. Thank you again, Carolyn very thorough Doctor
