Staff are very nice and helpful. However, Dr. Kim doesn’t seem to care a lot about your pets (maybe I was just having a hard time communicating with him). My dog was limping and I visited twice, both times I was sent off with pain medication, and was told that my dog looked completely fine, without mentioning any possible causes. To be fair, I asked and they told me they could do an X-ray with sedation after the second visit, but I’ve already lost my patience. I went to another vet and was immediately told that based on the symptoms, it sounds like my dog has a luxating patella, even before the X-ray.

Brought my dog popcorn to be neutered at this vet clinic. The front desk staff were friendly friendly and answered all my questions professionally. The pricing was very reasonable compared to other vets around. Dr was very good with the surgery with no signs of post traumatic stress or scars from popcorn. My dog was a patient at North York Veterinary Clinic for close to 5 years. The only reason why I've chosen to change vets is because I have moved too far up north for the commute to be feasible with my busy lifestyle. I brought my sick, elderly cat in today. They explained my options and referred me to a 24 hour clinic that they felt would give me answers faster than they could. They were kind and compassionate, and didn't even charge me for the consultation. I would absolutely recommend this veterinary clinic. I am grateful for the kindness they showed me.

I contacted this clinic today about the discounted service they provide for Rescues to be told that they don't do that. But it's on their website. They have no idea what they are doing here. Terrible place to come for pets especially the woman at the reception. She is very very rude everytime I come. even I live just across the street, and I never bring my cat to this place because of the chinese girl at the reception. Ive never seen a person who is very rude like her in a decade in Canada. Let me preface this review by saying the only redeeming thing about this clinic is the receptionist/tech Christine, who is beyond compassionate and caring. It was lovely dealing with her. My cat was walking with a slight limp so I brought her in. The doctor couldn't quite pin down what it was and told me I could bring her home with pain meds or get an x-ray. I opted for the x-ray and it turned out she had a hip fracture. He insisted that she undergo surgery and told me to go to a 24 hr emergency clinic as the surgeon/specialist was off-site and had to be called in. I did that and wasn't able to see a doctor (which is a whole other story) but the vet tech there advised that my cat may not require surgery, just cage rest. I called my vet the next day and relayed what had been told to me at the emerg clinic but he insisted on surgery. They told me to call other clinics and try to find a surgeon that could take me on, the sooner the better or the surgery would get more difficult. So I spend the whole day trying to get in touch with orthopedic surgeons throughout Ontario but everyone was booked for at least two weeks or right into the next month. I was lucky to call Bloorcourt and Caledon Mountain who gave me the earliest dates for a possible surgery and asked me to send in pictures of the x-ray so they could advise. Caledon Mountain called back first and said surgery was not required, just cage rest. Their practice was opened by an ortho surgeon who specialized in hip replacement surgery. Again I consulted with Dr. Kim and asked if he could speak with the specialist at CM, but his team essentially said that's not their job, they don't work with that clinic, and that it was up to me to choose one professional and trust that person. I was incredibly appalled by their response. Why would they leave it up to me to decide on that? As the animal medical expert, shouldn't it be their job to seek out the best option for my pet? Was it really so hard to jump on the phone with the other clinic to discuss and assure me and my pet on what to do? I got the call back from Bloorcourt who said the same thing as Caledon Mountain. The whole day was an emotional rollercoaster. I honestly felt that it should have been on the vet's team to be able to refer me to a specialist instead of telling me to go and find someone to take me on. I felt really helpless. Most of the clinics I called actually said that the vet should have been calling to refer too. It was really mind-boggling but I'm glad my cat doesn't need surgery. All in all, I will not be returning to this clinic and I advise others not to waste their time here.

My experience was sad for me as I had to have my family pet put down after 19 years. I have never been to this vet before and my situation was urgent. They took us immediately in the evening and were very wonderful for the whole process. They sent a condolences card about a week later full of beautiful messages. I took my cat to South Etobicoke Hospital Animal Hospital and he died after surgery. Nobody at North York Vet Clinic advised me that there might be any risk involved in having surgery on my cat! Not ONE SINGLE WORD that there was risk! My best friend, my little buddy, my companion gone... forever... and I had NO idea that there was any chance...

I took my dog here a while ago because she was having digestive problems. The vet recommended unnecessary medication and surgery which would've been very expensive, and turns out, unnecessary. I was pretty shocked and the charge for the visit alone was outrageous. Called somewhere else for a second opinion the next day - they gave me advice on what to do over the phone for free, and it was a simple fix that did not require medicine at all.

When I bring the bill to confront with her, another receptionist(Korean) laughs, saying it just $32 dollars, what's the problem? Excuse? This is how you treat your customers and that's so rude! They refused to refund the $32 dollars and lied about the examination fee over the phone! That's how to get your in, and change the price after!! Not sure about the bad reviews but the receptionists love my dogs and my dogs love everyone working there. My dog got her pregnancy check up here, all her puppies were safe and healthy. People complaining about the price has obviously never been to other walk in vets or emergencies. It's hard to find experienced vets that don't run unnecessary tests on everything for minor issues.

The girls in here are SO SWEET. Sorry if there are also men who work here, but the girls at the front were so helpful and explained everything in detail.
