Downsview Animal Hospital consists of a bunch a goofs. Been going here for several years and service has just been getting worse and worse. Staff is cold, unhelpful, zero communication and extremely dismissive. If you dare ask a question they act as if it such a bother. Dr. Ron is extremely unprofessional, does not provide recommendations and is very one track minded. If your pet is sick let’s just euthanize it. D.A.H is not old-pet friendly, they prefer to just end the animal’s life instead of improving quality of life. Being over 10 yrs. does not mean your pets life is over, so SHAME ON YOU Dr. Ron for making what should be the last option your first option. If you love your pet STAY AWAY FROM DOWNSVIEW ANIMAL HOSPITAL . Just because your a busy clinic does not mean people are gonna stick around for your garbage.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. It has taken me a while to write this and make my peace with it but I feel like all clients, and potential clients, of this place should know how unprofessional this clinic is. I took my 9 year old PERFECTLY HEALTHY shihtzu in the fall of 2020 because she was experiencing some stomach upset, along with other symptoms. They checked her inside alone because we weren’t allowed to go in because of covid so we don’t know what happened in there, but when she came out they just gave her pills for her diarrhea. We went home and gave her the pills as we were told. Fast forward two days later she started having a runny nose and was extremely thirsty and would urine extremely large amounts (which now we know are indicators of diabetes). We took her back and they didn’t take her in because she tried to bite them (according to the vet techs). They spoke to us outside and gave us allergy pills because according to them “it’s probably just allergies”. Fast forward again to a couple days later and my dog was in very bad conditions which led us to take her to the animal hospital. We then found out she was anemic, diabetic, and extremely sick. Unfortunately we had to put her down that same day. I am sharing my story now to make other owners aware and know that although we were in the beginning of Covid and we’re not allowed inside due to the circumstance, we still did not get the care or attention we deserved. I advise anyone who is thinking of going here to choose another vet. We could’ve gotten better care and my perfectly healthy 9 year old shihtzu would still be with us today. I hope whoever still goes here is given better care and attention than we were.

Amazing staff! The assistants, techs and vets are all rock stars. I have a feral rescue cat who, as you can imagine, is terrified of people. They were SO good with her, she needed some extensive dental work and Dr. Ron Moore spent the time to go over all her x-rays and explain what was needed. They made sure we got all the post-op instructions and a follow-up appointment 10 days later. Top-notch veterinary care!

They over charge then was rude then told me they help my cat , then 20 mins later told me to come back. They put my cat to sleep and try charge me 700. Plus talking about cremation. The women purpose put my cat down. She was dramatic , and she hurt my 13 year old cat. I thinking of sue them. Very bad. No star. Go to willowdale. Really they not good. They killed my pet. And girl did it purposely cause her attitude to me being on welfare go to anywhere is better. I'm still pissed she killed my cat....... Karma they lose there bizness

I've taken my cats here for a few years now. The Vet and staff are very friendly and helpful. They've managed to squeeze my pets in for their shots and I very much appreciate that. Just generally nice people and they put my cats at ease. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately the vet at this establishment has the worst customer rapport I've ever seen. And unfortunately even worse, his handling of my pet was terribly lacking in someone who should be experienced in handling the tiny little doggy that I have. My dog was in severe pain afterwards. Thankfully my doggy gradually recovered over the following two months. I do not recommend.

I would like everybody to know that the staff at DVH are outstanding care givers and people. I just had to put my 14 year old cat “Spaz” down this morning. DVH has been his caregiver since he was a little kitten (along with his brother and our little dog). I sincerely thank them for their professionalism and compassion. Took my kitten to get her first shots and everything! It's not an easy job and no wade especially harder with the pandemic. However, they did a great job, I couldn't go in with Ronda, but they took her in and I waited outside. Everyone was great and very helpful. Very reasonable prices for the service you receive. First impression was that it was a clean clinic, then Dr. Ron explained everything so i could have a better understanding of how to care for my cat. He was quick but very efficient and my cat was comfortable with his check up, he didn't probe her too much and when we got back home she was playing again as if nothing had happened, even after getting her first shot, check up, and 2 medications. They did not over charge, they were friendly and professional. I was very surprised and pleased with mine and my cat's first visit to a Vet.

Dr. Moore is amazing. You can tell while you are there that he really cares about the well being of your animal. My dog had surgery on his ear there, and due to my dogs age had some issues after the surgery. Dr. Moore treated my dog multiple times for the problems after his surgery, but never charged me anything extra at all. The only thing I paid for was the surgery. On top of that, he seems to be the cheapest in the area. My dog loves him now and I will not go to any other vet. Thank you Dr. Moore. As to the review that said they killed your cat, this is the wrong vet. Dr. Moore is a male doctor, and the review keeps complaining of a "she."

I thought this place was good but as it turns out it was only the receptionist. Yes to low prices but horrible care. Pug puppy put on Hills (DON'T USE THIS BRAND!!!) and instead of changing his diet when he had diarrhea he was prescribed pills to make his poo more solid 3 separate times (total of 31 pills!). In addition to that when he was having eye issues he was given a cream but no cone then ended up having an ulcer from "scratching his eye". Had to ask for a cone for the second visit which also came with new medication. His diet is now on chicken and rice and he's good and we are with a new vet. STAY AWAY FROM HILLS FOOD, vets get kick-backs for pawning it off!

Dr. Ron has worked with 2 dogs and 2 cats of mine over the years and his care has always been excellent. Always willing to answer questions and provide follow-up, he was also really compassionate and helpful when we had to deal with the sudden loss of one of our dogs. Thanks downsview vet, you took our dog in for a much needed surgery knowing it was a dire situation. You saved her life and I'm grateful for your quick reaction to place her into immediate surgery the day of. Sassy is her name and it's just over a month later and she's back to full life thanks to your team. Pyometra was the case and the amazing team acted promptly to insure the survival of our dog. The staff are friendly, professional, and never hesitate to answer any questions you may have. A visit from Dr. Ron has been a great experience every time for our puppy. At first thought this was a good vet brought my kitten there a few times for check ups. Later in the year Leah had gotten sick so we brought her in and Dr Ron did a few things nothing really was helping he gave us some medication to take home and basically said to us good luck and there was "nothing else he could do " but he wasn't being polite when saying this. Pretty much just wanted our baby kitten to loose to the sickness by helping her as little as he could. Still knowing something was wrong we rushed her to the emergency animal hospital downtown as she was much more sick then Dr Ron had told us. Animal hospital and us as a couple did everything we could to save poor Leah but she passed away after a week and half in the e.r. Overall I wouldn't recommend going here honestly guys find a better vet in the area this guy is Scum.

I have been coming here for several years. I recommend Dr Ron more than Dr Allen. Dr Allen pressured us into getting the most expensive and extensive tests during every visit. When at the end, they were not really necessary in the first place. Be mindful of which are necessary and what is extra. She also complains about the owners/patients, which is arrogant and uncomfortable. Dr Allen and his staff however, were amazing and genuinely care about their work. They are accommodating and helpful when you have any questions or concerns. He also follows up after surgeries to make sure that everything is ok, which is always appreciated, and seems generally to be a very nice guy.

Dr. Ron and his staff are amazing. Unfortunately our puppy has had a tough life so far. We purchased her from a breader and after 4 days found out we were sold a very sick dog. She was diagnosed with parvo and her condition went downhill quickly. This was a very hard time for us and the staff at DVH helped us through it. She has also had a conditon with her paws where the tissue was dieing and required special care. The cause of the condition is still unkown but Dr Ron makes sure to take extra good care with her so it does not return (this includes a list of medications and vaccinations we cannot give her) recently she has been in pain and they fit us in right away that day! Dr Ron has also done her routine procedures (recently her spay) and he did an amazing job. They are very helpful, friendly and understanding. Karma (our pup) and I would highly recommend bringing your pets here!
