The Vet unaware that I was with them comes back out into the waiting room where I was...asking for a price comparison between two different antibiotics. She seemed very frustrated by this and made a very unprofessional comment about it only being $2.83 different. Then she started talking about how bad she wants lunch. Very unprofessional. Never know who is listening...

This clinic was excellent for 10+ years. The old doctor has passed away recently, and the new replacement doctor only cares about taking more money from pet-owners. Just a few examples: The new doctor tried aggressively to sell us anti-flea medication. However, when we pressed, the doctor had admitted that our cat did not have any fleas. Then the doctor tried to sell us some blood works and antibiotics. However, after my wife pushed back (my wife is a dentist), the doctor has admitted that maybe our cat had ingested some unhealthy food, and the problem may disappear by itself in 2 weeks. Used to pay $70 per cat, now she charges $100+ Unfortunately, we will not be back. Too bad though - it used to be a good veterinary clinic.

They really take care of your animals here and are very helpful. I usually get my cats nails trimmed here for under $20 and they are fast and careful. They do follow up with you about your animals and seem to really care which is great.

We take our 5 year old GSD Husky Mix and our 14 year old Main Coon cat a) love the fact that they are practical b)great knowledge translation up to date information c) treat both with love, respect d) a clinic that does not run on OHIP, has overhead costs etc, but you know that the client is not being taken advantage off. The staff are very helpful and our pets are very calm whenever they come here - the best feedback you could ever get from the kids who don't speak. They treat their patients with great care and patience. Will recommend to everyone who wants a healthy loving companion.

In 2003, this rating would have been a 5 star hands down. Back then the late Dr. Van and his staff were the greatest. During the years I've seen much staff turnover and office staff who sonetimes aren't properly trained to treat their clients with respect and or even personal acknowledgment. When my dog passed away they did not even bother to send a little card, which is something many vets do. I still have my cat who needs a vet. However, in general I stopped feeling like this was "my" vet and even though I had kept them as my vet after I moved away from the area, I eventually had no more motivation to commute to go there. I found a local vet office which is super friendly, honest and truly caring.

We left our vet of 30 years because they were bought by VCA and couldn’t stand VCA. We heard good things from some friends about Bayview Veterinary only to find out they were worse! Terrible service from the front door to the doctors. We left and so have all the friends who recommended them! It was ok for a short time then went straight downhill!!

I had the most awful and stressful experience here, I took my dog in on monday morning for the signs of ear infection, since I moved recently, this was the closest vet I could take him. The doctor barely examined him and we left with the drops and I was kind of concerned about how quick and high level was the examination. unlike other vets that I had they didn't check up after our visit to see if the drops have improved my dog's condition. My dog started to have extreme diarrhea immediately, so I called couple of days later( tried to see if he can recover from home remedies) explained to the receptionist, she was rude and kept trying to tell me this is a different issue and had happened after the exam and we need to pay the full visit charge egain.I will rather go to some one and pay 80$ and my dog will get fully examined this time. very disappointing and uncaring staff .

We were clients of Bayview Mall Vet for 14 years. They always were about the animal care and making sure animals come first. Now, they’ve hired a new manager, Sherry, who is all about profit and the business and none about the animals. My cat had an eye infection and I was between paycheques and couldn’t afford the payment all up front, just needed to split it 50-50 a week apart. Dr. Tsang put the clinic in the managers hands and that was a very poor decision. Very sorry Dr. VandenBrink passed away, he never would have let this happen as he cared more about the animals. Unfortunately it’s time for a new vet for my kitty’s and all of my neighbours who were also clients of Bayview Mall Vet. UPDATE -> Take note that no options where offered to me. Sherry thinks it’s okay to come here and lie to potential customers as a response to my review. Again, Bayview Mall Veterinary Clinic puts profit before animals, be very cautious about bringing your pets here. If they’re willing to come on here and lie to customers over one bad review, think about what they could lie to you about.

please save your money and do not go here, my friend brings her cats here and they extremely overcharge and don't even give you a detailed explanation of why your pet is sick, and I honesty think they just give you a temporary solution to get you to keep coming back to them. She thought it was the best vet due to the area. please take my advice and look for second opinion if your pet is not getting better !!

Today, I took my cat for her annual checkup, and for the first time I had Dr. Chung take care of the cat. First; Dr. Chung failed to take blood from the cat as she could not find the jugular, Second: She did not know how to use a syringe, because she pierced the cat to the point that the end of the needle came out the other side of her leg, thus spilling the vaccine on the table. She tried this twice and failed twice. My cat is currently in pain and I hope it does not die from the mistreatment. I don't know how people like Dr. Chung obtain their degrees. Third: I requested to have the cat's claws clipped and when I came home, half the claws were not clipped. Apparently she is Internationally trained...her actions and lack of experience are alarming stay away.

Recently I was in a discussion about excellent customer service and the first person who came to mind was Karen at Bayview Mall Veterinary Clinic. In today’s society, professionalism, integrity and courtesy seem to be more of a rarity than common practice in customer service in many large and small businesses. Therefore, whenever I come upon a gem employee who is doing an above average job, I think it’s important to acknowledge the outstanding attitude and not let it go unrecognized... Karen multi-tasks her many hats from welcoming clients and beloved pets to managing the pet supply store/meds, maintaining infinitesimal pet files/appointments, answering phone lines courteously; and generally moving from one space to the next while still keeping a close eye on her front office. The observant client will recognize all the personable attributes that Karen brings to her job, while seamlessly orchestrating the multitude of administrative tasks, within minutes of being warmly welcomed to BMVC... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

During our time with this clinic, the healthiest we've ever seen our kitten was before we brought her here. After "treating" our kitten to critical condition for about a week, they admitted that they did not have a plan for her treatment. They claimed that they are "just a humble hospital" and did not have the equipment to treat our cat. They charged us for 24 hour hospitalization, which really meant that one of their nurses took our cat home with them at night (how is this even allowed?). They told us they would provide us updates during her "hospitalization", which they did not. Unprofessional, to say the least. It was not until we called to inquire about her status that we learned that they still had not treated her because they were too "busy." Why did we pay you for this so-called "hospitalization" then? It's important to know the limits to your capabilities; if you can't treat an animal at your clinic then refer us to someone who can.

When our dog broke her leg we had to rush her to the after hours animal clinic and they wanted to perform all kinds of unnecessary procedures that would have cost us a fortune. Thank goodness we had the sense to wait and take our dog to this clinic on the following day. They put a cast on her leg and her leg healed beautifully. They saved us a fortune!

Dr Burnett did a phenomenal job with my sassy, and she can be exceedingly difficult at times, since she is a rescue, and can be extremely skittish and aggressive when at the vet. I definitely recommend this vet clinic to anyone seeking compassionate and knowledgeable care for their fur babies

I have been bringing my dog Honey to this clinic for close to 16 years-yes she is that old! She is now deaf, and unsteady on her feet due to a stroke. The veterinarians at Bayview Mall Clinic have seen Honey through thick and thin, providing excellent, reasonable, practical care and advice every step of the way. They are always very accomodating regarding appointment times and emergencies. I miss Dr. Van but he certainly chose a wonderful replacement to run his clinic. Dr. Tsang is excellent as are her associate staff. Even the receptionists are pleasant, obliging and considerate. I highly recommend this clinic.

I have been taking my cats here over the last 25 years. I even used to volunteer there as a teenager when Dr Van was there and the owner of the clinic. He was such a compassionate man towards the animals and would do anything for them. He would be devastated to know what the clinic has turned into. On our most recent visit We were told we had to give my cat medication because the vets “couldn’t handle the animal“ so we did that and the cat has been sick and lethargic ever since and it’s been over two weeks now. Due to Covid, we are not allowed to go inside the clinic with the cat so we weren’t able to see what was happening. My cat is not aggressive at all however he does struggle with stranger anxiety but any trained vet should be able to handle something as simple as that and be able to hold the animal while the other person does the exam yet we were told that even with 2 to 3 people this is not possible and so to be told by a vet that they cannot “handle him” does not give me much confidence in them. As such they were not able to give the cat an exam at all yet they’re quite happy to charge me for it and when questioned about it I was told that “well there’s no separation between the two prices of injections and exams”. I’m pretty sure they set their prices so I don’t see why the two cannot be separated due to the circumstances. I’ve called a few times since to inquire about the side effects my cat has had from this medication and every time I call I get a different answer from whomever answers the phone. Not once have they called to check in to see how the cat is doing yet they are more than happy to take almost $200 from me for three injections which resulted in a seven minute visit. I thought the human dentist was expensive where are you pay $200 but at least you get more than seven minutes! This will sadly be the last visit we will be making to this clinic as it’s gone downhill dramatically in the last few years since Dr Van unfortunately passed away and new ownership and management came in. Now it seems to be all about the profits and very little about the animals. In reading through the other reviews here it looks like I’m not the only one that feels this way.

Very bad experience and not only for the first time. I found the receptionist more professional than the people who have to care for animals. The way they treat people now, keeping them in cold weather outside, only to get 5-6 animals in at the same time shows that they are not having much empathy. Is that a business only for making money?

Dr. Tsang and Dr. Burnette with their experienced medical team take great care our 12 years Pug. They are amazing! Both doctors are professional, caring and experienced. I found their pricing is fair and not overcharged at all. Ladies at the front desk are friendly and pleasant. Love those rescue resident cats Greg, Felix, Roger and Rosie! Always a pleasure to go for a visit there. They are the best Veterinary practice in North York and I highly recommend! This clinic is located in the plaza and has tons of parking and location is so convenience. This is a great practice and keep up the good work.

Had as positive of an experience as one can hope to have when euthanizing an animal. Dr. Tsang and staff, including nurse and lady at the front desk, were kind, compassionate, informative and professional.This was my first time at the clinic. I am picky about who I bring my animals to and normally take some time doing a fair amount of research first, but the sudden deterioration of my animal's condition required that I find the closest and fastest option to relieve her suffering. We were very lucky to have chosen this clinic. I would have brought my animal companion here sooner had I known the quality of care she would have received.

I have not yet been able to enter the premises due to Covid, but the staff are always kind on the phone and quick to deliver the papers and payment options to the door. Dr Mahmoody has been very polite and she always calls to discuss her test findings as well as making sure to request first if further testing is necessary. She doesn't make you feel bad if you need to discuss costs and has a friendly matter-of-fact demeanor. Everyone there has kind words to say about my puppy even though he can be a brat sometimes. I feel very comfortable sending my pet to this veterinary clinic.

We were so frustrated and what made it even worst, was knowing that he died while away from home, made us so devastated. We were very disappointed and heartbroken. We are missing him a lot!

I am visiting this clinic for years now with my 19 yrs. old cat Shady and I am very happy with their services. Dr. Burnett is great! She had twice performed dental surgical procedures and she is also monitoring Shady's diabetes. Rebecca is a true cat wrangler, Shady is at the worst when dealing with vet visits. Occasionally Sophie helped. Karen is always ready to help, very nice and courteous - helped by the clinic cat greeters, of course:-). Always a pleasure to visit the clinic.

Went for physical w dr chung and she suggested my dog gets vaccinated. when I was halfway out of the plaza after appointment, she calls to tell me she "forgot to vaccinate" her. ??!@#@@@ Then my dog suddenly developed fatal hemolytic anemia within weeks, needing to be hospitalized into icu. Im not blaming her but the whole entire Interaction w her wasnt pleasant and felt she was very scattered. Otherwise why would you "forget" to do something?

I wish I could give a lower score. I called about a week ago to ask if I could get a second opinion regarding my 13 year old pup. The staff on the phone was extremely rude and talked down to me the whole time. I couldn't even get a word in. I think I heard her berating some staff in the background? I wouldn't want to work there. I was appalled. I have never been treated so rudely by anyone in the vet field before. Needless to say, I won't be taking any pet of mine there.
