Absolutely AMAZING! I cannot even begin to explain what a relief it was to get the incredible service, support and explanations while my dog needed care! We found a mass in my dogs mouth, and suspected a broken tooth. The staff was able to fit me in ASAP (I was available on very short notice). The exam was gentle and very considerate of my dogs comfort level. I was given clear choices of treatment options, explained the pro's and con's of each option and was able to discuss my concerns to be able to make the best decision for us, our dog and our pocket book! The level of patient care is absolutely phenomenal and I was called throughout the procedure and informed of changes. I also got a call back afterwards to inform me of my dog's well being. Considering the level of care, being a specialist and the procedures we needed done, the bill was more than fair! Thank you so much to all of you for helping us out when we really needed it!

Dr Bebel is the best vetinary practicioner ever encountered. Have encountered other great Vet Dr's - absolutely - and lucky to have them treat my 'rare' special, Service Dog. Everyone's dog is special - I get it. Dr Bebel possesses a true passion, eye toward detail, and massive cross-domain understandings of the 'whole dog' unrivaled in my experience. Perhaps it is that she apparentley started as a 'vet tech' then pursued her interests to not just becoming a veterinarian, but a specialist. How hard must have that been? Super smart and treats your canine companion as if it were her own. You just know. Lucky to have found this wonderful example of how following one's passion can lead to such exquisite excellence.

Very professional. Their love for the patients is very clear. Hopefully we never need their services again, but we'd go back there for sure if we did.

Absolutely amazing veterinary dental clinic. Dr Regelado and her team are top notch. They went way out of their way to make sure everything was alright for myself and my Frenchie. Attention to detail, professionalism and empathy were here in spades, not to mention that absolutely everything was explained to me. Dr Regelado is a very skilled surgeon. I am not easily impressed. This is a clinic that cares and deserves your business.

We went there because our dog has semi-serious heath conditions and required more specialized sedation, than a normal vet would offer/do for teeth cleaning. Overall experience went well, prices were expensive yes, but you are paying for specialists so what do you expect.

How to describe wonderful....? Well in 2 words, Dr Angie! She and her support staff are amazing. Kind, calm, and connected. They all really listen when you express your concerns regarding treatment and post op care and complications. My little 1kg, almost 14yr old Chihuahua did not have the average straight forward procedure. Some stuff that I was told were possible did happen. Dr Angie was very good at contacting me immediately to inform me of the situation and what was being done. After care was awesome and generous. Things still didn't go as planned but with this team at the helm of my little #Starletthedoglet care, I knew everything plus some was being done to aid in a speedy recovery. Starry has now gained some weight and is doing great! All thanks to the wonderful team. Here are photos, first one, I'm stoned from the procedure, second I'm enjoying some icecream leftovers

We took our dog in for an exam and they gave us a large estimate that we couldn't afford, so the doctor said we could make payments, so we took her in and got the surgery, and they didn't even do the surgery promised, and then they went back on the offer for payments, if they will lie about that, what else will they lie about? i don't recommend you take your animals there.

Jenn Boey

Trustworthy, competent, caring. What else can you ask for?

The staff here are fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and really care about your animals. The atmosphere is clean and well organized. Covid protocols still keeping clients outside but they are very accommodating! I highly recommend this place to anyone needing dental work on their fur or not so furry babies.

My rescue cat had a badly misaligned jaw that was causing her canines to impact her gums and was putting her in chronic pain. I got referred to the West Coast Veterinary Dental Services to see a specialist who recommended a fairly extensive surgery for corrections. The raw price for it all was high (as expected when you seek a vet specialist surgeon) but for all the complex procedures that had to be done on her (tooth extractions, tooth cutting, pulp cap applications, ...), I thought it was fair. They do give you an accurate cost estimation before you leave your pet with them. My final bill with them was lower than the initial estimate range as well, which was a pleasant surprise. I was also very impressed with the post-op care - the vet who did the surgery offered to take off-hour emails and/or phone calls if anything urgent came up with my cat at home. The friendly staff also relayed questions and/or updates to the vet if she was busy attending to another pet, and called me back with advice and answers from the vet as soon as they could. I feel that they really give you the attentive service that you pay for and are a genuinely animal loving business. :)

Our dog recently had about a dozen teeth removed and the process was very easy for me and the dog - expectations were well managed and our doctor called to update me prior to doing the work to confirm initial suspicions. There was ample time to ask questions and never felt pressured or rushed. After the procedure, we both felt well supported, me with information and my dog with pain meds and follow up. Also the team was great with handling my dog and her tail was wagging before she even saw me before leaving!

Glenn Solomon

The doctor took time to explain the procedure and gladly answered questions and addressed concerns. They followed up with take home instructions that were on point and easy to understand. They also phoned the next day to see how the patient was doing post-surgery. Expensive but understandable given the complexity of the procedure. The final bill also was less than the initial estimate given after consultation. The one week follow up visit will be no-charge. Very pleased with the experience although my cat might feel differently ????

Corbin Lowe

Great service and most importantly they took great care of our kitty! The doctor spent a lot of time explaining the procedure and after care. Sent us home with a lot of instructions and followed up to make sure our cat was feeling ok after the surgery. Appointments were on time, staff were all very responsive etc.

Had 2 teeth extracted on my puppy here as they were positioned incorrectly. Was in and out within a few hours and the staff called to follow up on the next business day. Well worth the price we paid. Very happy with the work done. Everyone very friendly, helpful and professional!

This clinic is located in the middle of nowhere, with a rather plain and humble exterior look that may make you think this might be a third world animal clinic. However, as you enter into it, it turns out to be much better than I had imagined. It is clean in the lobby, the receptionists are passably friendly and attentive, and the lab behind the front desk looks well equipped, techy, and organized. There is no odour, no barking or screaming, just staff chattering mildly. The veterinarian, his student, and the technician struck me as professional, friendly, and patient, also playing the role of a pet oral heath educator, which I appreciated very much. I see many pet owners complain about the high costs at this clinic. Yes, the bill has exceeded my expectation.

Casper Cu

Absolutely excellent. The place is very clean....the patients (dogs and cats?) are so quiet and calm that you cannot tell they are in there! Highly recommend it to my friends and family in Vancouver! I normally would not let anyone look inside my mouth, but the doctors and staff are so careful and kind that I feel very comfortable with them!

Highly recommend for your pets dental care. Tooth extractions was a difficult decision for me due to my dogs age and other health concerns. West Coast ensured the safety of my pet came first. The staff are caring and genuine. Thank you to everyone!

Michelle Floris

Repaired two extractions gone wrong in my very elderly dog from another Veterinary clinic. I wish I had gone with my gut and come to them in the first place, as opposed to my dog going through two surgeries. They were through, compassionate and prompt. Yes the cost is higher when you are referred to a veterinary specialist, but the level of care is higher as well. My dog was up, walking, and eating when I picked him up. I'm very happy, and he is healing perfectly.

Thanks to the amazingly talented Dr Bebel and associates at West Coast Veterinary Dental Services, after being hit by a truck, our 6 month old little puppy John will be able eat and play like a puppy should, as Dr Bebel took great care of his numerous fractures in his little jaw. Dr Bebel called us with updates and even phoned after hours to check up on John. With their warm hearts and genuine care, every member of staff made such a traumatic experience much easier to deal with. 100% recommend :)

Very professional, made me feel at ease. Not sure my cat is a fan though, but he is definitely better off after his visit.

Dr. Rochette and the entire team at West Coast are fantastic! My 2 year old cat needed to have multiple teeth extracted due to stomatitis and the procedure went so smoothly, as did his recovery.

Got recommended here for tooth restoration on a 5 year old cat who has a small hole in her tooth. The last time she had that it took 3 weeks to develop an abscess and these people want to book me 2 months later? After mentioning she is already in pain and I don't want her to have an infection, the receptionist says I should make the appt anyways and she'd be fine. I asked how much it was as an estimate and they said 1200-1500. For one small hole? Then got told that I need to see the guy first AND then make an appointment... so my cat being in pain waiting and I am supposed to be okay with that? Then I asked an estimate on an extraction instead and was quoted the same.... both my vets do it for $500. What kind of rip off is this? And once I mentioned this to the receptionist, she ignored me and still tried to make me give information for an appointment. This place is just out for your money. I found many places doing the same for 1/3 the money. Shop around and avoid if possible.

Had a tough situation as my rabbit had a serious jaw fracture and could not eat anything. Although the outlook was pretty bleak, and was told so by my vet, as rabbits don't always do well with surgery, my only option was surgery to fix it. Dr. Legendre was honest and professional with me in terms of what we were up against with the surgery. I would recommend anyone with a rabbit that has teeth or jaw problems to see him. He even called me before surgery and directly after to say he was okay. The costs, while expensive, weren't anything shocking when you own a pet that is considered 'exotic'. They gave me the worst case scenario cost and it ended up being almost half that after the surgery. My rabbit made it through just fine, thank goodness, and ended up being able to eat on his own after 2 days. It's tough trusting anyone with your pet so I was very happy with how everything was handled by these guys.

Great staff and talented vets. It’s expensive, but the job was done well and right the first time.

They do amazing work and care for the animals. They took great care of my little man including pain control after he had teeth removed. He didn't miss a beat or a meal. I would recommend them for anyone who has a pet who needs dental work but are concerned because they have other medical complications.

Brought my 4 year old dog here for a root canal on his chipped carnassial tooth. Dr. Bebel and staff were very kind and compassionate with me and my dog. I felt that the time was taken to provide me with lots of information and answer all of my questions. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with them. It seems that they took great care of him and I also appreciated the toenail clip they did while they had him under for the dental work.

I have never had a better experience at a vet, EVER! These people are professional, and caring, and very good at what they do. Seeing reviews about how expensive they are makes me really sad, sure I could have my dogs teeth yanked out at my reg vet (and I have) but for WCVDS quality of care the prices are quite reasonable! I was actually shocked at the price I was paying for the high quality care that my dog received. I'm actually sad that I need a referral for my other dog because that means I have to go to my reg vet one more time lol. As my dogs gets older the anesthetic becomes really hard on them, and both my dogs have collapsing tracheas, last time I had my dogs teeth done by their reg vet they came back so wobbly they couldn't even stand, they were coughing and hacking up clots of blood. My female struggled to breath for two days afterwords from being intubated. There was no way I was going to let that happen again! So I asked for a referral this time to WCVDS and I've never been more satisfied! She normally is terrified of vets, but as soon as he started talking to her she calmed right down, I think she could tell that they cared. She came home the same day, coherent, and never coughed once. Her face was puffy (obviously) and she was a bit tired but she didn't seem to be in any pain(and she could breath!). The very next day it was like nothing had happened. Worth every penny! And will be bring my other dog here too, even just for cleanings!

Many thanks to Dr. Bebel and her colleagues for looking after our Doberman Chester. His serious overbite issues with lower canines stabbing into the roof of his mouth have been transformed into a very functional bite!

Our dog needed surgery on his lower jaw. Dr Angie's team has been thorough, precise and extremely caring, including with the follow up care. When some of Mac's stitches got ripped, they took him in again and fixed the area with no charge. We will definitely go there again if either of our dogs need care.

An amazing staff who know how to take care of all your pet's dental needs and then some. They handled my 13 year old bull terrier with a heart condition's last (sadly) dental with the utmost care and have also given my 10 year old Doberman cross some specialized attention. Highly recommended.

My dog needed a specialist dental referral to deal with a broken tooth. The service provided by West Coast Veterinary Dental was exceptional. The staff were all courteous and caring when dealing with my pup, and I was left in no doubt that they really care about the health of their patients. I was kept fully informed throughout her treatment, and the cost was well within the quote provided at the start of the consultation. All of my many questions were answered fully and clearly. I very much appreciated their flexibility with respect to the post-surgery follow up visit too, since I live out of town. The facility itself is very easy to get to and has plenty of short-term parking for dropping off and picking up. I would have no hesitation in using their services again. Clearly many others feel the same way - the only downside with this place is that the waiting time for being seen can be lengthy (more than a month).

Exemplary. From the friendly receptionist vet assistants, to Dr Regalado they’re delightful, professional and kind people. They took the time to explain the procedure, were compassionate and professional. Follow up was superb with a lot of valuable educational information. Highly recommended, your dog (or small companion animal) is in good hands.

Very friendly and attentive staff. We brought our pups in for bilateral knee surgery and he was so well taken care of. Dr. Michael King was very informative and was able to answer all of our questions and concerns. Definitely a comforting environment for high stress times both for pets and owners. Post op day one we were called for a follow up making sure our pups was doing well. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at CanWest. We're so glad our neighbor referred us to you before we thought about choosing another hospital :).

Django, a 16 year old cat had 15 teeth removed on 10/12/21 by Dr. Angie Bebel/assistants. From start to finish, Dr. Bebel/staff were genuinely patient, compassionate and thorough with explanation and follow up regarding questions/concerns. Pet owners trying to decide the best treatment plan for their pet, I can testify, this was by far the best decision to get the utmost in care.I can't recommend them highly enough.Because of Django's recent diagnosis of Stage 1/2 kidney disease coupled with his age, concern for his ability to handle the anesthetic was paramount (in my mind at least). This is where the 'specialization' in dental care allows for the needed procedure to be done accurately and quickly thereby having the animal under anesthetic for as short a time as possible. To assure that Django was in good shape for the anesthetic we had another vet do an Xray and blood pressure test. This helped calm the concerns of his ability to manage under the anesthetic and cost about $400. The other aspect that I decided (because of his kidney disease) was to give minimal pain meds post operation. I gave him them for 2 days. When I asked Dr. Bebel if this was ok, I was told it was my discretion. As far as my research indicates, some medications can accelerate the stage of kidney disease. Django seemed fine just healing with sleep. He even wanted to go out for his daily supervised jaunt the 1st day after surgery. I continued the antibiotics for the entire round. Something that should always be done. So, if you happen to be reading this review agonizing over what decision is best, I understand and I hope everything goes well with your decision and your pet's procedure. I was terribly stressed about the entire thing and prepared myself for the possibility things could go badly. Procedure, Money etc. I got a second and almost a third opinion. The 2nd opinion confirmed that yes, I would spend about $800 more, however, having the means to manage that cost and know he would be in the hands of extremely competent vet care, was worth every penny.Another thing that you must ensure is that your pet has Dental Xrays done prior to and after the procedure. The first vet had no ability to do this. If Xrays are not done, then one can not accurately know prior, what needs to be done and post, if all was done correctly.I read about the importance of this over and over. WCVD does these Xrays. I hope this review helps. It took me this time to actually write it because I have never written a review and I wanted to explain our experience honestly and thoroughly to help pet owners with their decisions. It was the reviews plus the research that made me decide to go with West Coast Vet. Django's dental care, to actually follow through and address it, took me well beyond the time it should have. Once Django was diagnosed with Kidney disease in September,I knew it was critically important to take care of his diseased mouth as not addressing this could accelerate the disease.I was afraid of the anesthetic and didn't want to face my fears.Had this procedure been done earlier, Django may not have gotten kidney disease (bad teeth can lead to infection in other parts of the body) and quite possibly may not have needed 15 teeth removed (which ultimately could have cost less). The entire procedure cost $3000. This was the low estimate. The vet that was to perform the surgery with no Xrays quoted $2200. I have been in the position to not be able to afford the highest quality care and it is difficult. But some care (after reading reviews and cross referencing necessary procedures) is likely better than no care. If interested, you can still get a consultation ($300) with West Coast Vet (this will be applied to final bill). I have read of many cats that survived anesthetic well past the 16 year mark. However, if you have the financial means, you can be rest assured that WCVD will take the utmost care of your pet.All the very best to you and your pet.Thank you Dr.Bebel and the wonderful staff.

AMAZING vet! My dog had a root canal procedure done today and I couldn’t be happier and more satisfied. The team there is so friendly and the doctor made me feel so comfortable with her/their expertise! I left knowing my boy was in good hands! She called me every step of the way to let me know how he was doing and came across a couple of things during his procedure and took care of them. Their quotes were bang on so I knew what to expect. I am so happy he ended up in their care and got the best of the best. I highly recommend this vet!

My rescue kitty was referred to Dr. Legendre for his stomatitis (his gums were red and inflamed and brushing/special diets hadn’t helped). He recommended a full mouth extraction, which was scary at first but I had full confidence in Dr. Legendre’s judgement and expertise. He is clearly passionate about his work and excels in his field (based on how I heard other vets speak of him also). He and the staff at WCVDS were helpful, kind and informative every step of the way. I went ahead with the surgery and it was worth every penny. Improvements continued until 3 months post op, at which point my kitty’s mouth is perfectly pink and healthy! The greatest thing has been seeing how it transformed his personality and quality of life - I had not realized how much pain he was in and how it was affecting him. He is so much more relaxed, playful and energetic now, even has a different look in his eyes! It has made me really happy to see how he’s been helped. I am so grateful and fully recommend WCVDS, all of its kind and professional animal-loving staff, and Dr. L in particular. You can trust them with your fur babies, and your money.

Brilliantly located next to a park with ducks and squirrels!!! Upon entry, I was greeted with a meatball and through my visit I was reminded how good of a girl I am over and over. Took a nap and woke with no tooth pain. All in all an OK place but if rather just go to the beach.

Extremely competent vets, very helpful and cheery reception, and their techs are awesome. My old dog has struggled with sedation in the past, but she never has a problem here!

Think twice about taking your pet here. I took my pet in to have some work done (root canal etc), and they sent me home w/ no pain pills. Said something along the lines "he's been given enough pain meds. He'll be fine". He kept me up all night whining. I took the day off of work and went down to pick up pain pills. Nothing more upsetting when you spend over a thousand and have your little guy crying and pacing all night b/c of a miss communication. Trust you gut in situations like this. Don't just ask the staffers behind the desk, ask to speak to the Doctor personally.

Rottn K9

I couldn't be happier with Dr. Judy Rochette & the lovely staff at WCDS with my young GSD. We had a tooth issue with an adult canine that involved gingival reconturing. Not only was the price far lower that what was initially quoted to me on the phone, the procedure was far less invasive than the treatment plan my regular vet had initially recommended. Always get an opinion by a good specialist, people! That said, what I really appreciated, above all, was the obvious care and concern by the staff that my dog's experience was a good one. I highly recommend WCVDS.

I highly recommend West Coast Veterinary Dental Services. From my experience, the team at WCVDS are highly competent and have integrity. A thrown rock hit our dog in the mouth; three badly damaged teeth needed dental work, and that’s how we ended up at WCVDS. I was immediately put at ease. The staff exceeded my expectations for courtesy, professionalism and communication. The facility is exceptional; they even showed me the very nice kennel where he’d be staying. The veterinarian, technician, and support staff kept me informed every step of the way; from pre-surgery x-rays, to going over the quote and options, post-surgery, and now calls to check-in on his recovery. Despite good pet insurance, the bad billing experience at the emergency hospital that referred us to WCVDS has made me cautious of vet quotes. I was pleased with WCVDS’s quote; given the amount of specialized work and related items required, I believe the final costs were reasonable and fair. I feel fortunate that Dr. Loïc Legendre helped our dog; he was remarkable and a true pleasure. The staff at every touch point were also incredible. To lessen my obvious concern, one person said, “Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. If you worry, give us a call.” I didn’t have to call them because they called me regularly. That’s one example of their open communicative and caring approach. Dr. Legendre was able to save two teeth; the third required extraction. Thank you WCVDS, our dog will be just fine thanks to your excellent dental work!

Stacy

Had our fifteen year old cat (with hyperthyroid) in to have six teeth extracted. Staff was friendly and helpful. Vet/surgeon (Dr. Judy Rochette) and anesthesiologist (Dr. Nancy Brock) were compassionate yet straight forward professionals. Our old gal didn't respond well to the procedure but it had nothing to do with her care or the surgery. We had her in at our local vet 48 hrs later on iv fluids, pain killers and special food. The experience was simply very stressful for her. The surgeon and anesthesiologist kept in touch and were checking in with her regular vet, and us, during the whole ordeal (which took place over the Christmas holidays). She's doing fabulous now! Took her a week to come around but she's even more of a spaz than before. I recommend West Coast Veterinary Dental Services.

The staff and Doctor were first rate and gave our Quincy the most excellent service. We'll come back again if he needs their help and will recommend their services to all.

What a joke... I came in because my cat broke off his fang. After waiting 30 minutes past my appointment, the doctor calls us in, pets my cat opens his mouth and goes "yup that's broken alright" and tells us to go outside and wait for reception to draw up a quote.... $250 consultation fee!!! Literally 3 minutes of his time telling me something i already visibly see!!! ($10k quote for a fake fang replacement...)

I brought my senior chihuahua here who has a heart murmur so i'm always hesitant about putting him under anesthesia. I went in for the consult and immediately I could tell Dr. Bebel knew what she was doing and had a sincere love for animals. She made me feel really comfortable and safe to know he was in good hands. After my first experience went really well I decided to bring in my younger chihuahua for a teeth cleaning and that was also great. All the staff is wonderful and you can tell they all care about animals. Don't expect it to be cheap though, it is pricey because they are specialists and this is what they do all day everyday. But I would rather pay the price and know my babies are in good hands then pay a vet who just does general health checks. Its like going in for dental surgery with your family doctor (IMO).

Michael Dyce

Dr Judy was awesome. I was referred by my Vet to WCVD as my Chihuahua-Mix has a grade 5 heart murmur and a leaky valve and needed serious dental work (removal of his last 8 teeth which were t doing great). Small breeds are notorious for tooth decay and resulting heart damage/disease. My guy is 12, and I knew his “sedation” years were almost up and I do t want him in pain or sick with infection. Because Of his heart, my Vet felt he needed to be monitored by an anesthesiologist. Each year I had Cheeky put-under and had his teeth cleaned and bad teeth removed. So I am a responsible and good owner. He needed blood work before, so they sent the request to my Vet who is closer. I asked Bethany the receptionist at WCVD upfront, “how much will this surgery cost?”. The range she gave me was within the range I was expecting. Was it cheap? Of course not, when has dental for people or animals every been inexpensive? I was also told about the $195 visit fee prior so was fully prepared. The day at the appointment Dr Judy did a consult. I expressed that I didn’t want any “bells or whistles” but I did want Cheeky to be comfortable. She brought back a quote with a high and low range. She explained the why and what ifs. Guess what, it was a bit less expensive at the lower and higher range than I was first told. It was explained that the $195 was a “case” fee. This covered the follow-up we had 10 days later. In total the bill was $2,400. He had 8 teeth extracted. He had meds and antibiotics to go home with. I got a great information sheet. When I dropped him off I was invited to put him in his waiting kennel. It was clean, had a nice little furry bed and a big glass door. The space was clean and nothing intimidating about it. I did feel very much that they love animals and they care about them. And yup, it’s a lucrative business, great for them :) He’s healing very quickly. I was totally not stressed by the experience and neither was he. In fact, I had a couple really nice chats with the different receptionist I dealt with. When I picked him up everyone was so sweet. He was truly taken care of. If you think that they are just after your money, then that is your opinion. I didn’t get a sense of this at all, but I can see how it could feel that way. Do your research! Take care of your pets properly and have insurance or a healthy savings account. I think a lot of people dont do their research and they are shocked by the costs, and affordability can certainly be an issue. Owning a pet is like having a kid. Just be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. I’d recommend Dr Judy without hesitation!

Took the rest of the teeth from our aged chihuahua. It went well and the technique they used resulted in no flopping about of her tongue.

I can't say enough great things about West Coast Veterinary Dental. The staff are absolutely wonderful. Dr's Rochette and Brock are two of the kindest, most compassionate, and most caring people I've ever met. They were great at easing my fears, and amazing with my dog! Both before, and after his surgery. I would recommend West Coast Dental to everyone!
