I have been taking my puppy here for the past 5 months. The Vets at VCA are wonderful and caring. Carla at the Front Desk is amazing!

We had the most caring and compassionate experience at the clinic. Our 13Y old dog was in pain and we wanted to be with him in his last day and last hours. They made it possible for our family to be with him and hold him and supported us along the way. It was very hard for us and they allowed the time needed and I cant say enough nice words about the staff and clinic. Thank you for being there and doing such outstanding caring work for the community.

There is nothing better than meeting people who really care about your pet. We had the opportunity to bring our pet for the first time in Canada to VCA. The doctors were amazing, very attentive and investigated all possible causes for our pets symptoms. The nurses and staff were very helpful and kind. Sincerely recommend!

I had a horrible experience with this vet. I took in a senior cat who was having trouble eating and thought there might be a tooth problem. After a week and a myriad of tests upwards of $1500 I took her to another vet who with one glance in her mouth said it was sarcoma in her jaw that must be very painful and with how advanced it was, kindess would be to euthanize. I am so angry at Highlands as they must have known from the start what it was and that she was in so much pain and yet they put her that torture of all those weeks with tests for what? Money? Maybe he is living above his means. Unethical.

Don't waste you time on this place. Turned away my dog, refused to help him on his last days.

Dr Brad Gilbert has been cleaning my dog's teeth for years and is always so helpful at explaining everything to me. He is very patient, kind and highly skilled. If your dog needs professional cleaning you should definitely book a consultation and visit this clinic. They take very good care of our fuzzy near and dear, loved ones.

Great staff. Very caring and honest.

The best clinic on the north shore, full of caring staff and vets who know what they're doing with your pet's health, and if they don't they'll do research or consult experts to make sure your pet gets the best treatment possible. They do work with some exotics; we've been taking our bunnies there to see Dr. Lepitre for over a decade, and once we saw someone bringing in their pig!

Super helpful, great staff and the process is smooth even during covid

My senior dog is a patient here for cardio-pulmonary issues, and sometimes we get his nails trimmed while we’re there because we don’t want to accidentally nick one of his quicks. Most recently they trimmed his nails and one of his pinky nails had a decent chunk of quick entirely severed. He definitely bled, and it definitely caused him a lot of pain. Won’t be getting them to trim his nails again, that’s for sure.

Amazing service at this hospital, I took my kitten here for his first vet visit and the staff were exceptional. Thank you guys and Majan for taking care of my boy!

Took my daughter there for her pocket pet, which had to be put to sleep. Few vets are willing to treat small animals on the North Shore, and our experience in the past with other places had been mixed. From the initial intake to the expertise and patience of the vet, I was very impressed with how they handled a sensitive situation and the reasonable fees charged.

My Benjie is a 14 years old and was limping and very much in pain for long time . After my first visit with Dr. Mery Darabi and first prescription , he is like he was 6 and jumping and running, and so happy again, I cannot thank enough Dr Mery for her amazing knowledge and great choice of medication, she is above and beyond others, she was checking with me every few days to see the progress and if there was any side effects, thank you for giving my baby happier days and better life He still has to live .????????????????????????????????????

Highly recommended. Was extremely hard for me to find the vet I could trust and speak the same language to. Staff is great, attentive. Followups are done in a few ways - phone, email. They gave my dog another year of life, and eventually when I had to put him down, I got a really sweet card in the mail, which contained personal messages from doctors and techs. Recommended this clinic to all my friends, and if I'd stay in Vancouver, would have been the only place I went.

I have never actually seen a vet here but have tried to order dog kibble from them on a few occasions and have always had a terrible experience. On one occasion it took the staff 3 tries to order the right kibble. It didn't appear to be a problem with the supplier but rather the staff just weren't able to correctly note the required kibble. I found the front desk staff cold, rude and unaccommodating. My dog has severe food allergies and has to eat a special diet. I placed my order with the staff 2 weeks before I was due to run out of kibble but that apparently wasn't enough time. The receptionist did not apologize and did not seem concerned about my dog's wellbeing and his allergies. I'm not sure how they keep getting voted best on the north shore. I imagine it's due to a lack of options.

Our dog had surgery on her lip done by Dr. Lepitre. We have nothing but good things to say, she did a fantastic job and it healed without any noticeable scars or complications. Thank you Highlands Animal Hospital.

I was with this vet for many years but recently their level of care has gone downhill. They don't read the charts before care and seem to have no idea who the pet is, they appear to be after as much money as possible, charging over $90 for a follow up that took less than five mins and all they did was look to see that his hot spot had healed (which to be honest I already told them he was good) they then tried to force a blood test on me to renew his prescription (if they read his file they would have seen they just did the blood test 6 months ago for the same purpose). I have move to another vet who has found other (age related) issues that this vet never even indicated. Take your fur babies elsewhere!

Absolutely the best vet I have ever been to. Dr Hayk had a wonderful candor with my cat, very warm and even gave her a nickname. He spent a good amount of time with us and I never felt rushed at any point. He also gave me a lot of information without judgement and without pushing certain products or extra tests. Their exam is double the price of other places on the north shore ($70) and even though I am lower income I definitely thought it was well worth it. The other staff were very warm and friendly and gave extra free samples when a product I wanted to buy was out of stock. All in all it was wonderful visit and their standard of care is very high. I will definitely recommend Highlands Animal Hospital to anyone needing vet services.

Dr. Mary Darabi is such a fantastic vet. I trust that my cat is in the best hands at her care. She not only cares so deeply about animals, but I can tell that she also cares about me as a young owner of a chronically ill rescue cat. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Joanna Lipsey

Unfortunatly I have to down grade my rating. I will be looking for a new vet. The wonderful vets have left along with some staff. I have not been happy with my last few visits.
