Terrible service I prefer not to give any star at all. I was there personally one week ago and ordered two bags of Thyroid Cat dry food for cats. The staff asked me to write down many documents including my pet's family doctor's information and waiver any consequence of the food. They promised to call me later and one week later still no response. Today I called Main Street Animal Hospital and they neither found my documents nor order cat food.

My regular vet is closed on the weekend so I came here to buy my cat's food (Royal Canine, Urinary SO) and was told it was a "prescription" formula and they could not sell it to me since my normal vet was closed and could not confirm the "prescription". Never once in the 13 years he's been at a different vet have I had to prove he was prescribed this in 2006. I drove to the next vet and happily gave them my money for cat's food. I'm giving two stars because the front end clerk was nice about this absurd policy.

I have been bringing my dog, Finnegan, here since I moved to the North Shore in 2014. Dr. Toor & Dr. Amir have both been excellent & very understanding & compassionate when Finnegan has been ill. Thankfully when he got sick last year after possibly ingesting some sort of toxin, which affected his liver, they took such good care of him & he made a full recovery. The staff who work there are also awesome & you can tell how much they all care about the animals they treat.

Future Works

My dog had blown his ACL and they did a great job -it healed quickly and they treated my dog very well. He is a shy dog but he was confident to go into the vets and even when we went back. The surgery went well and he healed well ahead of schedule. I would recommend the clinic to anyone looking for a vet's office that does a great job and treats the animals well. they truly like animals and are very professional.

Dr. Toor has been an utterly wonderful vet to my cats over the last few years. His team was incredible to me when I had to put down my best friend of 15 years, and carried on as I had new pets with new problems. When my cats have been sick he called me regularly just to check on them. I can't go there anymore as I've moved too far away, but I want to stress how much I love this clinic. Honestly, not sure about all the 5-star reviews as it's kind of odd for a business to only have 5-star reviews. I trusted those reviews though and took my 12-week Morkie Poo puppy there for her vaccination. Yes, staff were friendly. Took them a good 15 minute to set us up and then we started waiting for the vet after a quick general examination his assistant did on our puppy. Vet came in and gave some very generic information that was already written on the brochure. Then he proceeded with vaccination: 2 shots, first one was successful and they did it in front of us, but he couldn't complete the 2nd shot (even with his assistant's help). So he said we have to take the puppy to the back room to complete the shot. It took a good 5-minute until they were finished in the other room and the little puppy was screaming throughout. We were finished by 7pm which was their closing time too. Unlike the other comment, the vet did not offer his personal number in case the puppy had issues after the vaccination, he simply said you can bring her back tomorrow - which can obviously be too late - as if he didn't really care. At the front desk we received a bill for $150 for a simple visit and vaccination. This would have be ok if we were given a quote or something before hand. We called in a couple of days before we went in and their estimation over the phone was closer to $60-$70. It turns out the vet had also included all the "optional" vaccines without asking us. Finally, and the worst part, was that for the next 2 day the puppy had lost any trust in us. She wouldn't allow us to hug her and she became more aggressive. Not quite sure what they did to her in the "back room" but we're definitely, never ever again going to take our dogs there and would recommend against this place to any of our friends and family.

We previously had different vets in the Lower Mainland for our 4 dogs. All visits were quick and very brief and I was never given much information. On my chihuahua's first visit to Main Street Animal Hospital, Dr. Khosravani and his staff were so incredibly knowledgeable and patient. My brother took my dog and I was on the phone due to being in the US. Dr. Khosravani spent his time examining my dog and diagnosed things that were previously overlooked by all other vets. He then went through everything with my brother, and then spent over 15 minutes on the phone with me to inform me of his findings. He asked me questions about things I may have noticed but would not have known to bring up to a Vet. He even went through my dog's previous vet files to know his complete medical history. I am so so so incredibly impressed and happy with everyone at Main Street Animal Hospital. Dr. Toor has seen our other dogs and he is also amazing. I am so glad that we finally found such professional and caring veterinarians for our dogs. They completely changed the medications our eldest dog was taking because previous vets were giving the wrong prescriptions and now our 13 year old dog has noticeably gotten better. He is eating more, has more energy, and best of all, his pain has been alleviated. All thanks to Dr. Khosravani, Dr. Toor and their incredible staff!

THis is probably the worst ever experience that I have had with any veterinarian. After my 18 year old dog collapsed I saw that the Main St animal hospital was the first to open so I chose them as the best place to get help, particularly as it was labeled as a hospital. When I got there i went inside to talk to reception before bringing my dog in (my partner was comforting our dog). The reception staff were very courteous and professional but they had to apologise as the Vet was running late. As i was walking back to my car the vet drove up and parked near to my car. I approached him to say that my dog had collapsed and that I wanted him to look at him. His answer was that I should go to my normal vet. After asking him again to look at my dog he told me to go into reception and they would sort me out (as he walked away). I went back to reception and noticed that one of the receptionists was talking to the vet on the phone. He told her not to let me check in and that I should wait until 10am to see my dogs normal vet. When i said this was not acceptable the receptionist then gave me the phone number of a 24hr animal hospital on broadway in Vancouver, 30+ minutes away. I ended up going to Mountainside animal hospital where the vet was amazing and not once did anyone do anything but support us through this difficult time. Unfortunately my dog did not make it, after consulting with a real vet, who did what he could, he passed away on Sunday night So i have some questions to this organization 1) Why would a vet upon seeing a pet owner who is clearly upset and, while able to hear the dog crying turn and walk into his office (so he could call the receptionist to tell her he would not treat the dog)? 2)Why would the vet make his receptionist do his dirty work for him and tell me that they will not treat my dog? Leaving them to deal with an upset owner while he hides in his office. 3) How can this organization call itself a hospital when it has no interest in treating sick animals (unless they are already a customer) Update in response to your post: There was no misinterpretation and I have no idea how you formulated this response 1) my vet was not open at that time I would have to wait 30-45 minutes for him to open 2) I was trying to fill in the form when your vet told the assistant not to fill it in as he would not see the dog 3) Yes my vet did have blood work - so what - the dog was in pain in the car you could have started to look at him and placed a call as soon as the other vet opened 4) If i said I was going to my vet as you indicated why did your assistant give me the brochure fro the 24 hr hospital on broadway. That would make no sens. 5) All you are doing with this response is destroying what credibility you have

Dr.Toor is very lovely, I rarely want to deal with doctors, because I've paid them in the past only to find out my cat is fine. The price was extreme but after some research I found out Dr.Toor was charging me $200 less than most vets; he took off the charge for the exam, part of the teeth cleaning, a test that came out good, and a check up. My cat kept calm and the surgery was a success, he even remembered her after a year of no contact.

Dr Toor has always taken great care of my senior dog. He removed her toe last fall after she developed a tumour. Post surgery she was having severe discomfort and agitation throughout the night and would not settle. I called Main Street Vet at 1am, so I could get the Emergency Clinic phone number that was on their voicemail. Upon hanging up and before having a chance to call the Emergency Clinic, Dr Toor noticed I had called from call display and called me back and guided me through my dog's care through the night. He also offered to meet me at his clinic in the middle of the night, if required. I can't imagine that many vets would provide that level of care!

Wonderful staff. The ladies are great. Dr. Toor....eeehhhh. Not so much. He was rude to staff, late to see us and unapologetic about it, wanted to give us medication that we didn't even need and much more. Clearly people haven't been looking closely enough at what he does and why he does it.

I am so thankful for all the support and love from the staff at the Main Street Animal Hospital in North Vancouver! They have been outstanding in taking care of my sick cat who developed a re-occurring partially blocked urethra 4 weeks ago and who is still suffering with urinary crystals and bladder pain. Dr. Toor and his staff (Dr. Amir, Emma, Michaela, Aleisha and Roberta) have been such a blessing to me and my little boy Jasper and I will be forever grateful for their kindness and help. Dr. Toor and his staff decided to admit Jasper to the Main Street Animal Hospital instead of transferring him to the Vancouver Animal ER. They took turns looking after him 24hrs/ day when they were not scheduled to work on the long weekend. Their dedication and sacrifice to give up their weekend to look after my little boy will never be forgotten. When Jasper originally developed his partially blocked urethra and urinary crystals 4 years ago, the Vancouver Animal ER highly recommended for me to take my cat to see Dr. Toor because they said he was an excellent veterinarian and that he knew how to look after a cat with chronic urinary issues. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and caring towards all the animals that they see and their overall prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend Dr. Toor and his staff to anyone looking for a great animal hospital! I brought my cat in that had injested a chemical that had burned her mouth, I explained the situation and the fact that I was ill, single parent on disability and was limited on funds, the staff was very sweet but the vet was awful he couldn't even look at her without help, he came back with a long list of things that could be wrong and tests they wanted to do it was over $700 if she only needed to stay one night but $1000 if it was 2.days I asked if they could help in any way or could I pay a bit in payments. he said no and they gave me back my sick cat and sent me on my way

Our puppy was having a bad allergy reaction and we were referred to the Main St Vetrenarian clinic by our old clinic which was unable to see her for a few days We called and they were more than accommodating to schedule an appointment for that same afternoon Met with the vet and he was more than helpful He did not just say that our dog needed a bunch of expensive tests. He said that they are not always reliable but he did offer a solution and asked if we would like to try it He gave some medications for a couple weeks an injection which he said that if it works we would see results within a couple of hours He changed her to an allergenic diet as well After being home for a couple of hours we noticed that she had settled down and was no longer chewing on herself It is now been almost 3 weeks and our pup is still fine and her hair is growing back Highly recommend seeing Dr Amir as he fully explained everything in a way that we could understand

I love this clinic. They have accommodated our schedules, they are clear and honest about their services and rates and the staff are very warm and friendly. We took our pup for the typical visits during his first year - vaccinations, micro-chip implant, de-worming, neutering, random pink eye - and have always received professional care and a welcome reception. We dropped in for a social visit recently and our dog was pulling me in like we were visiting old friends. In fact, we were. They greeted him by name even though he arrived unexpectedly. Hopefully other clients feel as special as we do.

I am so grateful to Dr Toor and his amazing, deeply caring staff for their professional and excellent care of my dogs who are now all old. Dr.Toor is an excellent diagnostician and always takes an economical approach to tests needed, with full care of the animal at all times. If more serious tests are required, then he explains why. I never feel that unnecessary X-rays or tests are simply ordered. When our lab was diagnosed with diabetes I was fully trained in how to give the insulin injections at home. Our dogs are living out their last years comfortsble even with old age ailments and so well looked after with this hospital to support us. We had to put one of our fur babies down last year and the compassionate way that both our dog and we were handled as a family will always be what I remember from that day. Amazing! I've been bringing my senior girl to Dr Toor for the last 6 or 7 years now. He's saved her life at least twice in that time. Dr Toor has always been incredibly responsive and helpful - he works with the owner to find the right course of treatment and always makes the effort to keep costs reasonable. I adopted a new boy last summer, and it turns out he has an incredibly rare disease that Dr Toor had heard of, but never encountered before (nor had most other vets in the area). He did extensive research to figure out how to diagnose the disease and how to treat it. It's been more than 2 months since my boy was diagnosed, and he is doing amazingly well now. Thanks Main St - I couldn't have done it without you!
