I'm very surprised about the reviews on here. I either find reviews to be very positive or negative however I'm somewhere in the middle. I actually went to Harbourview due to the great Google reviews and the location. First of all, the front desk staff is fantastic and I have nothing bad to say about them. Julie Lahey is another story. Our dog went there for various check ups, shots, procedures etc. and my boyfriend and I found Julie to be a bit cold and direct. Having said that I do think she gave out dog good care which is why we stayed. After my boyfriend went a couple times he suggested we look else wear as he found Julie rude and in a rush to get us out. We also started to feel like she was pushing us for more procedures to get money out of us. I spoke with an acquaintance who brought her cat there and she said the same thing. Our most recent experience involved our dog jumping into a cactus with over 200 spikes in her and then she went into heat early prior to her spay date. I called reception and Julie actually answered so I explained what happened and said I assume we can't go forward with the spay date as she will be in heat for 2-4 weeks. I also mentioned I did a lot of research and most people suggested waiting 3 months after her heat because her hormone levels will return to normal. Julie was very short and told me to bring her in on her scheduled date which was less than 2 weeks away. She very clearly told me I was wrong and that she's the vet. She then said she has someone else on the line and would be hanging up. I proceeded to call 4 additional vets on the North Shore including Mosquito Creek, Lynn Valley, and Ambleside and ask their opinion in the waiting time. Every single one said 3 months no questions. That combined with her lack of empathy and rudeness was enough for my boyfriend and I to change vets.
