You will see the feddbacks of real people who used the services and products of Capitol Hill Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in the territory close to North Vancouver (Canada).
To this day the firm gets a score of 4.8 stars out of 5 and this score has been based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is practically the highest, and it is based on a high number of opinions, so we may conclude that the assessment is quite accurate. If people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to write scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Animal hospital.
The Capitol Hill Animal Hospital is so great. The staff is very accommodating and very empathetic to their customers. They are one of the few places that will see chickens. I will always take my pets to Capitol Hill.
Cindy is the best veterinarian hands down. She really cares about her patients and her clients. She tells it like it is.
Absolutely wonderful! My bunny was given the best care and attention. It was so comforting to feel that welcome trust Dr. Chow. Capitol Hill was recommended to me, very thankful. I highly recommend and commend Capitol Hill.
Fantastic communication from both reception and Veterinary staff! It's incredibly difficult to find care for reptiles in this area, and I was very relieved to have my little gecko's case taken seriously. (Many of the clinics I had attempted to contact previously either could not take her in, or had assumed her condition was a result of poor husbandry, without discussing the actual issue at hand) At reception, I was able to discuss the full extent of the situation, and every step of the way she showed compassion and understanding, and worked with me to figure out the best plan to prioritize her admission. I was happy to have the vet discuss my gecko's environment & level of care at home, it showed that they are knowledgeable with the species, and also gives myself space to rule out potential negligence as an owner. Once admitted, staff were able to keep me informed every step of the way, discussing her care options with me before attempting them (relieved to be asked consent instead of getting surprise bills) And my anxiety over the situation was put at ease by their confidence and clarity. Thankfully they were able to quickly help her out in the least invasive way they could, and I felt comfortable leaving her in their care every step of the way. I'm thankful for their service, as this was potentially life saving for my little lady. I'll continue to trust this clinic in the future when it comes to reptile care :^)
Took my boy Thor in (chinese water dragon) he has mouth rot but he is looking better every day thanks to the special help at Capitol hill!
We took a very sick ferret to an animal ER. The ER vet recommended Cap Hill, going as far as to say "Dr. Chow's wealth of knowledge and genuine care for small animals and exotics is unparalled in BC." And Chow and Cap Hill haven't disappointed. Our ferret is recovering and we can't imagine taking our other pets anywhere else
I 100% trust Capitol Hill Animal Hospital with my bunnies. The team is gentle, they know their animals, and best of all they know how to care for rabbits (and other small pets and "exotics")? The team has been there for my bunnies whether it be a check up, an ailment or tragedy. This place has a special place in my heart.
Dr Chow is very caring. We always have the best experience there taking care of our pets.
have come here with my hamster since I got him and the staff has been fantastic the whole time. Very professional and knowledgeable and open about cost so you aren't hit with a "gotcha" bill
Good vet, I take my rats here, they seem to care a lot more than the emergency clinics, and they're a lot more affordable. I would recommend this place for anyone with rats/bunnies/etc looking for a vet. I come Vancouver to go to this vet, they're worth the drive
Doctor is friendly and thorough.
I usually don't write reviews. Dr. Chow (and the other staff members) at Capitol Hill Animal Hospital is exceptional. She was able to diagnosis my guinea pig and provided the best care possible. Sadly, Ollie passed away shortly after the veterinary visit. But, even though it was a painful experience, I knew that Ollie was treated with professionalism at this place.
Very caring staff
Everyone there was so friendly and they took excellent care of our bunny Max for his first check up. Very knowledgeable and helpful!
Dr. Chow helped my crested gecko when she had 20+ eggs stuck in her! My crestie got surgery at Capitol Hill and the moment I came to pick my crestie up it was like she was a completely different animal with a different personality. Dr. Chow is a great vet, she’s super friendly, knowledgeable in exotics, and also very reasonable with her prices.
Heartbroken experience. I took my 6-year-old rabbit that had barely been eating for 3 days in yesterday (charged $40 extra for emergency drop off) and Dr. Chow diagnosed him with GI stasis just by feeling his stomach. After some treatment, …
When my daughter's translucent Bearded Dragon passed, March 29 2019, I appreciate the staff at Capitol Hill Animal Hospital, for being sympathetic in the midst of my daughter’s heartbroken state. I wish that I had more options, told to me, about helping my dragon, however I do take on some of the responsibility.
Dr. Chow & her staff go above & beyond. I take our small pets here & they are the best in the city & surrounding towns.
My rabbits have seen 4 vets and Dr. Chow is the best! She knows rabbits very well and handles them very gently with a warm heart. My rabbits don't get upset after seeing her because they don't hide under the sofa when they get home. Highly recommend!
Doctor Chow is very kind and professional. She is one of the few doctors who can treat guinea pigs and provide good treatment for my little boy. Many thanks to her and her team for their help in these years. They are all real animal lovers.
Dr Wong is honestly the best vet I’ve ever had an experience with. Very informative, cares for the animals and talks in a relatable way
Dr Chow was very patient, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with my bunnies! She took the time to review everything thoroughly on the phone with me. Highly recommended!
I love how gently they care for my bunny. They're absolutely amazing here.
Amazing doctor, and very friendly stuff! Love this place, and would recommend to every loving pet owner!
Our ferrets receive the best care here from Dr. Chow. I would definitely recommend this Pet Hospital to others.
Wonderful experience overall! Dr. Chow is friendly and thorough. All my questions were addressed and she provided helpful feedback. I'm glad my rabbit has such a great doctor. He will for sure be back for his annual visit.
Cindy is probably the most rabbit savy vet in Vancouver!
Great vet. She is always really thorough whenever I bring my hedgehog in for a check up and makes sure our all our questions are answered. Dr. Chow and her staff are very caring and knowledgeable.
Just came back from taking my cat Mochi to this vet. Dr McClean was very helpful and kind and knowledgeable with my questions. Prices were decent as well. Definitely recommend this place.
Amazing vet if you have exotics (specifically rats). She was so understanding and compassionate when my rats have passed away in the past, and she was knowledgeable and kept visits as affordable as possible by seeing both of my rats in one appointment. She gave me the meds I needed and did everything she could to help my babies. Best in Burnaby/Vancouver if you ask me, can't recommend enough! Especially if you've been hunting for a rat vet as so many vets won't even see pet rats. They'll even give advice over the phone or by email and you don't have to pay for an appointment if you're a patient. Couldn't imagine going to any other vet with rats!
We brought our little Hedgehog in because he was pooping less and less. After being told at Burrard Animal Hospital that "if he was a cat or dog, I could perform surgery, but in this case the survival chances are low. Did you know that his stomach is so tiny?", we brought him to Dr. Chow and her wonderfully skilled and caring team. Dr. Chow performed explorative surgery, found a severely irritated pancreas, and gave us painkillers, anti-inflammatories, and gut health powder to feed. The next day, Henry the Hedgehog was already back in good spirits, and seven days later he's fully healed (and angry that he can't run on his wheel yet). Dr. Chow is a competent, warm, and highly skilled vet, including exotics. Go here.
Amazing knowledgeable vet for my chinchillas which is exceedingly rare in my experience. Thank you Dr Chow!
I've been taking my cat here for the past 5 years and they've been great.
I should've done the review awhile ago, but I didn't get the chance, due to my grieving situation. I took my old bearded dragon, Roxie, to Capitol Hill. I was greeted with wonderful service, the receptionist went above and beyond to warm up Roxie's pillow for me while I waited. The vet there, Dr Chow, was truly amazing. Very informative. She explained to me what my beardie's condition was. She was giving Roxie a fighting chance before the final decision. When we had to make the final decision, Dr Chow was truly wonderful in helping me with my grieving. Allowing me to spend time with Roxie throughout the process. To all my friends who have reptiles or any exotic pets, I alway recommend them to come to Capitol Hill. Thank you Dr Cindy Chow!
Thank the heavens for Dr. Chow she recently seen my cockatiel Sunny about some broken blood feathers and is on the way to recovery. I was given so much information, never rushed, questions answered and she showed a very caring personality …
Went there after checking the Google Map reviews. So glad to meet Dr Cindy Chow! It was the first time that both my buns didn't struggle much during the checkup coz she handled them very differently from other Vets I'd brought them to. She was patient, caring and explained everything! Found the issue of my bun and the treatment was effective! Will definitely visit them now onwards for all future vet visits!
Great place.
Wonderful care. Guinea pigs vet was hard to find, but they have a vet who treats and cares about guinea pigs.
Amazing caring staff all around. Clean and organized veterinary clinic.
I was really impressed by Dr. Chow - she was friendly but professional, answered all of my questions, and most importantly was very knowledgeable and adept at handling my conure. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my bird back here.
Caring vet. Takes time to explain.
This is the best vet experience I have ever had in the 30+ years of having pets in our family. I asked for recommendations from a handful of friends 'in the know' when we knew we were bringing home puppy. Every single one of them came back with Capitol Hill Animal Hospital and Dr. Chow! Dr. Chow and her staff are amazing and it is obvious from the get go how much they all really love animals! Dr. Chow has guided us along, without any pressure, the first few months of shots, heart worm and flea treatments and has given us excellent advice along the way. We never feel rushed and I know they care about our puppy!
They take care of dogs and cure them. Also very reasonable price
We saw Dr Chow, she was friendly and kind. Was able to take my poor sick Chinchilla home the same day.
The only vet I trust with my bunnies. Dr. Chow is absolutely amazing
Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Everyone was eager to help in every way. I could tell right away that my rat, Rose's surgeon was well-versed in rat needs and behaviors and while Rose didn't make it in the end (through no fault of CHAH), I would absolutely entrust my other rats in their care.
They took my Girl Rat and her Baby’s in and checked Yin’s ear !! Gave me meds and told me to get boys out Now !! It’s only on 20 day and net say 21 !! So as I was planning on the boys out from Mom today anyway !! It’s now nice to know I did not Jump gun !! It was Cheep and the team was great !!
Our pupper loves his vet. Always jumps out of the car excited. I've always been satisfied with the level of health care as well, don't feel negected or uncared for at all.
I'm so glad that I found this vet, she's very professional and knowledgeable. It was my first taking my birds to the vet and she was very patient answering all my questions
I am so grateful to Dr. Chow and her staff for haven taken my rabbit Berto in during an emergency in spite of having a very busy day. Dr. Chow takes the time to explain what's happening, possible outcomes and provides clear …

Excellent treatment.
I just went to Dr Chow to examine my ferret Diana today, she detailedly discussed with me and recommended the treatment my ferret needed and did the implant right away. I can feel that she genuinely care about your pet. Staffs are also friendly too. Definitely recommended!
Dr Wong is probably one of the best vet in the area. Taking time to check all the records, very informative about the diagnosis, cares for the animal patients. Highly recommend.
We have several ferrets. We had them checked up as routine and they were extremely knowledgeable, even the non-specified ferret staff. …
Great service!
Dr Chow is definitely a great vet but the clinic kept raising the prices each time I spoke to them. They said it's $375 for a rabbit neuter but I needed to find out if my rabbit was a boy or a girl so I booked an appointment for an exam a week from the day I called for $85. I asked if the exam price would be deducted from the neuter price since they need to have an exam for the neuter and they said yes. They said since he would need an exam for a neuter, the exam that I would be getting would count toward the neuter. I confirmed a couple times about the exam price being paid only once because I wanted to make sure. After I paid for the exam, I asked in person again for the 3rd time if the fee of $85 would be deducted from the neuter cost making the surgery cost just under $300 and they said yes. I booked the neuter for 2 and a half weeks after the initial exam. Then when I got home, I got a verbal quote from them stating that it's going to be $350-$400 even with the exam price deducted. I asked if I could get that reviewed because I spoke to someone earlier and they said it's $375 minus the $85 that I paid. Then they emailed me a quote of $400-$450 with another exam that was needed in that price. Dr Chow is definitely a great vet but I don't appreciate being lied to over and over again by her receptionists.
They're very knowledgeable and super nice
Dr Chow is amazing. I have never met a more knowledgeable, sincere, and caring vet. She has a lot of experience with rabbits, and other small animals. Highly recommended.
One of the few avian vets around and simply amazing. Great staff and couldn’t imagine letting anyone else look after my feathery babies.
Due to covid we were not able to be in the exam room for our bunny's first vet visit, but the staff ensured that he was comfortable and well taken care of. Couldn't have had a better experience.
It was great! The staff and everyone were very patient and easy to talk to! I definitely recommend this place????
Came here as an emergency when my other vet completely neglected to notice a serious illness in my cat. He was near death when we brought him here. The vet here was remarkably compassionate & did everything they could for my little boy. He had to be euthanized, but I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else for this - it felt like being among family here.
Dr. Chow is amazing! She is the vet of my ferrets and she is very knowledgeable.
Dr. Chow is really great with our birds! She is truly amazing, and the staff, as well, are wonderful. Make sure if you have birds that you bring them to an experienced avian veterinarian like Dr. Chow!
This is the absolute best place to bring pets and exotic animals. Cindy is awesome at problem solving issues and gives the best quality and care. All of the Vet Techs are also very nice and caring people. I highly reccomend this vet to anyone needing vetrinary help!
I know Dr. Chow from when she was involved with Urban Animal Hospital in the West End. After ten wonderful years with our beloved dog we had to put him to sleep. He had stomach cancer and given his age and the fact that he had two very bad hips, fighting the cancer would have been cruel so it was our only humane option. Our regular vet was away on the day that we were doing it so Dr. Chow handled the euthanizing. Nothing against our regular vet as she was great too but I have to say that I was glad that it was Dr. Chow who handled the euthanizing. I don't know that I've met a more compassionate, caring and empathetic medical professional in my entire life. She was so lovely and made a sad experience so very beautiful for both my partner and me. She was loving and gentle and just seemed to know exactly what we needed through the process. I could literally cry as I write this just thinking about how wonderful she was. We still live in the West End and we just got a new dog but going to Burnaby just isn't practical for us. We love the staff at Urban Animal Hospital. I've only met the new vet there once so it's too soon for me to form a solid opinion. If you're considering taking your animal to Dr. Chow and she has room for new patients, don't even stop to think about it, just do it. You'll be so glad you did. Excellent vet and a really lovely person. That was a huge event in our lives and we will never forget how wonderful Dr. Chow was to Buddy and to both of us.
Dr. Chow and the staff are amazing
Incredibly kind and caring staff, took the time to explain everything very clearly. Great experience! We are feeling confident in their diagnosis and treatment.
The doctor here was very friendly and knowledgeable. She didn't want to run unnecessary tests on my bird just to make a buck. I would recommend anyone to see Cynthia.

Capitol Hill Animal Hospital and all it's staff are outstanding. They are kind, professional, experienced experts that provide excellent care. Our first visit was for our baby ferret. She was injured and Dr Cindy Chow was excellent with her. The initial exam was thorough and the good Dr provided us with solid information. She takes time to understand and explain the situation and the best course of remedy that works best for the individual situation. Our ferret had a broken shoulder and under Dr Cindy's care our girl made a full recovery. Since that time we have our ferrets, cat & German Shepherd all see Dr Cindy and her team for their care. We live in an area with 5 veterinary hospitals within a 15 minutes drive. We travel almost a half hour to bring our fur babies to Capitol Hill because of the excellent care our family receives. Thank you Dr Cindy and your amazing team. Our family is blessed ????
This us our new go to vet for our Guinea Pigs even though she's in North Burnaby and we are in South Vancouver. She provided a consult while our piggie was at the Vancouver ER Aninal Hospital because piggies fall under exotic pets, and saw us for a follow up the following day at her clinic. She's really great and her staff and technicians are great too. The clinic itself is kind of small and hasn't been professionally decorated, but, then again she didn't order extra xrays or diagnostic tests because she didn't feel they were necessary and didn't want to cause further stress on our piggy. I really appreciated this. I've been gouged by other vets in the past. I didn't have that experience here and I get a sense that she's in this profession because she's good at it and likes what she does. Very satisfied that we'll continue to get the best care from Dr. Chow and her staff.
Great little place and super friendly and kind staff. Vet can also help with small animals like birds, rats and hedgehogs! So great if you have a different pet and having issues finding a vet for them.
Staff members are well verse with the animals. Highly recommend!
Vet Cindy and her staff are very knowledgable and friendly. They treat your pet like it is their own!
Dr. Chow is professional, kind and realistic. I am so glad I found her. Staff is also incredibly helpful and accommodating. First vet clinic where I don't feel like I'm being bombarded by add-on sales and unnecessary procedures. Highly recommended.
I've been to many vet's before. Dr Chow is, by far, the best Vet we have ever had.
Totally fixed my
I’ve been taking my pets to this place for about 2-3 years. I rather to drive all the way from North Vancouver to Burnaby to see Dr. Chow but, I would never ever going to visit any other animal hospitals near by. Dr. Chow is amazing. She is very friendly, caring, knowledgeable, loving and organized. The staff are friendly and supportive. My pets love her and I trust her 150%
Absolutely amazing vet for rabbits! Extremely knowledgeable, and clearly very caring
This is a clinic I can 100% trust to take good care of my cat.
They are friendly, responsive, and reliable. Our cats have been seen by them for 3 years, and they always give us clear recommendations if any (and at one point, they even found an issue the other clinic didn’t). We also went through terminal care of my cat recently, and they were supportive and prompt on an emergency. I am glad working with them.
I had to take my cat to the vet for an emergency- he wouldn't stop vomiting and couldn't keep water or food down. Dr Chow and the amazing tech team took him in the same day I called, and we got our results as soon as they could give us updates. My cat seemed mad that I'd dropped him off, but otherwise wasn't too upset. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 protocols, I couldn't go inside with him, but I'm confident that my best friend is in the best hands. My cat is back to feeling better, and bouncing around like his usual self once more.
Amazing service, they care more then anybody for ALL pets equally! Great with small pets even like rabbits, rats, hamsters, etc
I brought my senior ferret to Capitol Hill when a lump grew near her butt. Dr. Chow and her staff were extremely nice and knowledgeable. They explained everything I needed to know about my ferret's condition and made sure I understood the …
Best vet anywhere!
Hard to say how good they are since they won't let you go in with your pet. They did give us a good report though and fit us in on fairly short notice.
I was searching for animal hospitals specializing in birds when my 5 year old lovebird started developing a mass on one of his toes. Staff on the phone was very kind and helpful in giving advice and booking appointment. Since this situation was during COVID-19, the staff were very helpful in collecting my bird for assessment, and the vet did checkup over phone real time so there was great effort on the staff’s part to reduce risk of spreading infection. They gave multiple options for getting rid of the mass and prices were reasonable. I went for antibiotics for his leg first to see if the situation would improve (as I didn’t want to commit to surgery just yet) and I’m happy to say that his leg has recovered! Very happy with my experience at this hospital - thank you staff!
Dr. Chow sees all of our exotic animals and she is a phenomenal vet and warm, compassionate person. She and her practice are one of the best the Lower Mainland has to offer, with lovely staff and clinic that eases the standard worries any pet owner might have.
I went to this veterinary office with my 4 month old Guinea Pig Henry and the customer service was absolutely phenomenal, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Dr. Meyer was extremely knowledgeable about Guinea Pigs and spent time answering all my questions. Such a wonderful experience with all the people at this office.
Excellent
They listened to my concerns and provided me with both the services and information i requested. The vet followed up on one question that required clarification from the lab. They were on time, gentle and thorough.
Very attentive during the visit. Would recommend. Be sure to ask lots of questions.
The vet that treated my 2 birds was so very friendly!
I wish we found them sooner! Dr.Chow and her team are amazing. One of our pet ferrets hurt herself and needed an emergency surgery. They were able to get her in on short notice and do the procedure later that day. They put the well-being of your pet above everything else and it shows. Everyone that works there was a pleasure to deal with and they really did make the best of a bad situation. We could not be happier with our experience and would highly recommend you go visit them.
Capitol Hill Animal hospital is the best veterinary hospital in Greater Vancouver. Dr. Cindy Chow is an amazing veterinarian. She is one of the few avian vets in the region. We have tried all of the avian vets but Dr. Chow is the most knowledgeable and kind avian vet we've been to and her rates are reasonable. I strongly recommend this veterinarian!
Dr Hill is the best ferret vet around!
Great vet!
It's a good animal hospital but expensive.
Dr. Cindy and her team are amazing! Unlike other vets, they really care about you! My cat, Pudding and I had many experience with other animal hospitals, but after the first time we visit Dr. Cindy, we knew right away that we finally found the best vet in town! Dr. Cindy is very kind, very patient and very professional. She always spend her time to explain everything in detail includes the aftercare. I know Pudding is always in a good hand with Dr. Cindy and her team!
Recently, my bearded dragon was diagnosed with incurable cancer and I was left with no choice but to euthanize him. Dr. Cindy Chow was so caring, knowledgeable and empathetic in guiding me through the process and assuring me I was doing …
2 years ago I rated this place 5 stars because Dr Chow was excellent for my chinchillas. Since then, I was condescended by her colleague Dr Upjohn who erroneously believed my chinchillas were fat, despite their diet being free fed hay and hay based pellets. He also failed to take down their weights despite his many comments about them. When I emailed, the reply was unconcerned about his lack of knowledge on chinchilla care. Despite this experience, when I got my new dog, I brought him here. He is an import for showing with breeding potential, and Dr Chow's attitude for him (or me?) was very obvious dislike. When I switched, my new vet shared his records with me, which included comments that were uncharacteristic of my actual conversations with Dr Chow. It became obvious that she is anti-responsible breeding and pro-pediatric altering for dogs. She did not ask or listen to any information about my dogs history or reasons for his anxious behaviour with her (having just been transported and landed barely a month, and I couldn't go in with him - of course he's anxious!). On our follow up follow up appointment for a vaccination, she commented on an umbilical scar, calling it a hernia, and insisted on surgery (which I later cancelled) after a second opinion. The surgery would have been $800 and unnecessarily anaesthetized my puppy. In our email correspondence prior to the surgery date, the responses to my questions were standoffish and rude - "where will you shave him?" re: "we do not shave unnecessarily". My conclusion is that Capitol Hill Animal Hospital is EXCELLENT for your small pets, especially rodents, but if you need a knowledgeable vet for your dog, go elsewhere and make sure you get a second opinion.
This is the place you take your loved ones to get better. I have taken my Chinese water dragon on 2 separate issues. Both were resolved, as the Dr. really cares for the little ones. What they lack in flashy look they make up for it in knowledge. They are easy to talk to, worked with my schedule to get my dragon the help he needed. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
My partner and I have been taking our Guinea Pigs here for about a year and a bit based on a recommendation from a family member. Capitol Hill has been fantastic with their care for both of our pigs. Prices are very fair and surgery costs …
The staff was very communicative with me when working with my rabbit for a bladder issue. My rabbit was kept calm and comfortable. They made sure I was well informed and took time to explain their procedures and ensure I had the right tools and knowledge to continue his care.
Extremely unprofessional veterinarian and poor communication. Got a call 3 hours before my first appointment after waiting for 3 weeks and advised by the veterinarian that he may not be the best veterinarian for my dog as he was out of the veterinarian school for 5 years. He then told me that the owner would be more suitable to take on my dog even after I told him that the owner is no longer taking on new dogs. The receptionist called an hour later to inform me that the owner is no longer taking on new dogs. What kind of animal hospital does this?
Have been going here for years. Staff is very helpful
Gave good service. Seemed to care about our pet. Vet took her time explaining things - no sense of being rushed out the door once the exam was done. They followed up with a questionnaire mailed out to us on how we felt about the service and what we thought could be done to improve it. Prices seem in line with other vets - not noticeably higher or lower. There is some parking provided. Note that it is listed under both the old name "Coast Cat Clinic" and under the new name "Capital Hill Animal Hospital" (both websites are up). It is no longer cats only. I think the two names may be the result of the practice changing hands (IIRC). Note: Google mis-spells it as capitAl hill when it should be capitOl hill. You also seem to need to zoom in quite far before the name shows on the map.
Cindy and her staff are the best I've come across in more than 25 years ! Wonderful Animal people, I have recommended them to any and everyone I know. Thank you Ladies you're the BEST !
Organized service, felt good about the treatment and prices.
Good ppl here. You can trust them.
Dr. Chow and her staff are absolutely amazing. There is not a big enough word to describe my gratitude to these guys. It is so refreshing to have a exotics vet as knowledgeable, dedicated and passionate as Dr Chow as there are so very few. She also does not recommend tests or procedures unless absolutely necessary and a benefit to your fur family member. She explains everything and tells you all options. Dr Chow and her staff has helped my Dexter out so much. She has gone above and beyond. I can not recommend her enough.
Great vet for rabbits and exotics. Dr. Chow is well-trained from the University of Guelph which was the leader in exotic animal care. She is sympathetic and knowledgeable. By and far, she is the bet veterinary that I have had for my pets in the Vancouver area.
Dr Chow and her team are fantastic. I have been taking my guinea pigs here for the past three years and have always received amazing care consistently. Highly recommend
Excellent customer service and very friendly and caring team
Friendly staff, knowledgeable and helpful. Won't make you spend more money if you don't have to. Definitely check them out! My cat left the vet happier then when she arrived. Highly recommended
Great people. My shy tomcat loved them!
This review is long overdue. Dr.Chow is the best veterinarian that I’ve come across ! She is extremely caring and sensitive with all of her patients needs. She is very knowledgeable with any animal related issues. In addition, her empathetic personality was always very appreciated…I say “was” only because unfortunately she’s no longer my veterinarian…my supermeowdels Jack & Alfonso and I relocated to Southern California approximately five and a half years ago. We miss Dr.Chow and the exceptional care she provided. Put your paws in the air for Dr.Chow.
Dr chow answered all my questions and was very reassuring when my 3 year old bunny broke her leg. My new go to vet. Everybody there is super friendly and helped me make the right decisions for my bunny. Highly reccomend. The surgery wait list is less then a week and the prices are very good too. Update: Last night my guinea pig broke his front teeth and dr chow to the rescue again. Removed the old teeth and gave him some pain meds. For less then 100 dollars, this is now the only exotic vet i will ever deal with. Quite possibly the only vet i will ever deal with for any of my animals. Next update: Dr. Chow to the rescue again. Hamster broke her leg and i knew right away there was only one vet that i trusted. Dr. Chow saw the pictures (bone was protruding through the skin) and got us in as soon as possible for an appointment. The leg had to be amputated and it was no surprise why. I got an estimate very soon after and after giving consent, the cute little hamster was booked for surgery the same day. Just got her home and she is doing very well. They made a tiny cone for her, gave me a box to take her home in and full post op instructions all printed out. Due to covid i havent had a steady income but Dr chow was able to accomodate for that as well since i have been taking all my exotics to her now for a while. She set up a very reasonable payment plan and took great care of our little girl. I dont trust many vets with my animals but dr chow is one of only 2 vets i trust with my animals. If you deal with any other vet, you needa rethink your decisions. When thumper had a bad infection, they understood i work alot and being a prior patient, they offered to watch her during the day while i was at work. Great folks here and they arent trying to put their hands in my pockets for everything. They actually care about the animal and not just the money. I owe these folks a bigger thanks then j could ever even come up with. The level of respect i have for them is so high that not much can compare ever. When my animals are here, i know theyre in good hands.. i've dealt with alot of vets and capitol hill is by far the best.
Danielle was great on top of it!! Very thorough. Employees like Danielle who care about giving their very best, make the customer feel completely taken care of.????
I adopted my dog nearly 8 years ago. I found a vet close to home and used them for 3-4 years. They told me that my poor girl had bad plaque and needed to do a deep clean. They quoted me nearly $2000. I spoke to my co worker who recommended Dr. Chow and her team. I made a visit and was told to try TD (hard biscuit like) and come back. She assured me that it would do the trick and wouldn't need a "deep clean". That visit was approximately 4 years ago and I'm glad I made the visit. Dr. Chow and her team are passionate about animals. They care about their health and well being. They care about their owners. Most importantly they are honest. I highly recommend Dr. Chow to anyone. Make the trip even if it's not close to home. You won't regret it.
Dr. Chow is a loving and caring vet who puts the needs of your pet first! She will not recommend unnecessary services like some dishonest vets. You can trust that you pet is under the best care here. The vet nurses are also very caring and compassionate.
Out of ANY business I have ever dealt with, hands down, the best customer service. All staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. Shout out the their fantastic team for always taking great care of my dog and easing my dog mom anxiety.
Dr. Cindy Chow is so kind and caring, I take my rats to her and she is amazing!
An amazing place! Both our bunnies and our little puppy come here. Do not have enough good things to say about the doctors and staff. They stay in constant contacts with us when we have emergencies and changed their achedule to help us out in an emergency. Thank you again!
Amazing staff!
Dr. Chow and team are so friendly and knowledgeable! My husband and I took our two budgies here a few years ago and Dr. Chow handled them no problem, with care and a gentle touch. Because of the excellent care and communication we received, we decided to bring our new puppy here as well and we are receiving the exact same level of care. No animal is too big or too small! Highly recommend Dr. Chow and team.
Dirty front room. First impression follows through. The staff seems sloppy and overwhelmed.
Great vet. Does a great job of explaining what the issues are. Never a bad experience.
They have taken excellent care of our 6 cats ???? over the past 10 years. Recently our most senior cat of 18 years had dental surgery. Dr. Chow and staff were very conscientious and kind with him and he is recovering well.
Dr Chow is wonderful! She took my sick little Guinea pig in when another vet couldn’t help her & fixed her right up. She is incredibly knowledgable & has taken the time to talk to talk to me several times. She took excellent care of my baby girl & saved her life! I will trust her with my fur babies any time!
We've been taking our pets to this clinic for close to 7 years now. Dr Chow is amazing! She and her staff have taken great care of our cats, degu and guinea pig.
Doctor Ryan Wong is the best veterinarian! he treated my puppy (she had warms and an ear infection) and he also gave her, the second dose of the vaccines. When he gave her the vaccine, she didn't even notice, she didn’t cry or move, which was a big relieve for me I was so worried she would feel pain. He is very loving and caring towards animals. All the staff were very nice and friendly, I was really happy about how my baby was treated.
Excellent Doctor and staff. Small animals are a speciality. Parking sucks, but well worth it for the first class treatment your pet kids will receive.
Great staff, great experience
The only exotic animal hospital I trust. They are really people who care truly for animals and I have brought all my rabbits here.
Absolutely amazing. Maya was the vet that helped out my cockatiel Ralph when he was having some troubles staying perched. She was patient and thorough and gave me a number of options about how to proceed as well as accomodations for what I …
Dr. Chow and the staff really care about your furry friend, and will go the extra mile. Their prices are fair, and they have always been accommodating of myself, my partner, and Mr. Rufus. Please, do yourself a favour and come here when your pet needs the care they deserve.
I love the staff. They're very smart and friendly and helpful. I can usually get an appointment same day which can be essential at times. Dr. Chow is wonderful. She's so good with my rats and she knows what she's doing.
They were great with my little dog very gentle and thorough
Great vet, is very good with birds. Treats everyone with respect and kindness.
Hands down best Vet clinic in the lower mainland. I have been to my fair share of vets and they're either trying to rip you off or are not knowledgable enough to assess your animal. Dr. Chow is just incredible, she takes her time to explain everything, answers all your questions and concerns. My Felix is a senior cat and vets in the past have always given me different answers on his health problems, making it hard to properly help him. Dr Chow knew all the possibilities that may be wrong and requested the correct tests accordingly and now my cat is on the way to recovery. You won't be disappointed in this place.
Great service. Highly recommend them.
Stuff are nice and helpful. The parking lots front of building are full most of time.Just park in the undergound parking, there are 3 spots for the animal hospital
Super happy with how thorough and carefully my rat ramona was treated. Was reccomended by many people and I'm so glad they did!
They didn't listen to me when I said my senior cat was very sick and couldn't walk . First the agreed with me. Then all of a sudden she wanted me to get tests done and maybe he could get medication. The vet said he walked fine nstead he had to SUFFER two more days before he was euthanized. I took him to another vet two days later because he could no longer use his hind legs.
I wouldn't bring my fancy rats anywhere else. Dr Chow is thorough. I really wish covid wasn't around though. I can't wait to be able to meet her and actually sit in the waiting room
Wonderful experience! I have never been more pleased with a veterinarian. Dr. Chow provide a comprehensive health assessment and shared pertinent health promotion strategies. Our guinea pigs are young and squirmish but the tech handled then well, even throughout the complimentary nail cutting. We will definitely bring our cat and dog in next.
