You have all the feddbacks of real people like you who bought the products and services of BC SPCA Vancouver Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in the territory of North Vancouver (Canada).
Right now the business gets a score of 4.4 over 5 and the score is based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings that it reaches is really good, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the score is very faithful. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to write opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian corresponds to the category of Veterinarian.
Fast, friendly, helpful and cheap
Lots of really cool things inside, great options for furniture too! Really cool to see a cat wandering around the store too! Will likely return to see what's new at some point in the future.
Great place and great people.thwy have very good service and they love animals. My dogs were terrorized when vet time was close, then we changed vets and now they have no fear to get into the clinic. It takes more than a month to have an …
Very caring and patient people
I've heard awesome things about this clinic but the woman who answers the phone has a major attitude problem and no compassion at all. I told her about my dog who's in pain and has a tooth that needs to come out (and that I was referred by my vet due to the loss of my job and not being able to afford them) and her response was "we're booked up for the next month / Google other vets" with the most condescending tone. Just wow. In tears I attempted to try to impress the importance and got cut off and told some line about their staffing issues (not my problem when my dog is in pain, thanks!) and to go try to get credit. I understand if they're busy, but a little care and compassion go a long way. I'd expect someone working this kind of job to know that.
Very caring and professional work for a great price
Very professional and trust worthy
On august 23rd I booked an appointment for my three cats to have a routine check up/ teeth cleaning. I was told that three cats would be a lot to handle at once and would need to book in for the end of September on the 29th, 38 days later. It was confirmed that my appointment was scheduled for the 29th and my contact information was left (email/phone number). The day arrived and I loaded all three cats (very stressed as they do not like travelling) up and drove to the spca hospital. Upon arrival, they had no record or history of our appointment, furthermore they didn’t even have our correct contact information(they failed to correctly write our information down which we previously shared when booking the appointment ). At this point I’m standing outside in the rain with three overwhelmed cats and not receiving much help or solution to a major inconvenience which has been created on their end. This was unprofessional regardless of how you choose to look at it. I had record of all our conversations via email including confirmation of appointment of three cats and clear communication of contact information. At this point I do not feel safe leaving my loved ones to be cared for by people who couldn’t professionally facilitate a simple appointment a month in advance, along with creating a major inconvenience which created much unnecessary stress for our three cats and ourselves. Very disappointed, please work on your facilitation of appointments and communication amongst your staff.
Top notch care, attention and devotion to what they do. We don't bring our pets to anywhere else but here. Keep up the good work!
I trust them for taking care of my cats
They did not scan our cat's SPCA ear tattoo. No effort was made to contact our vet of record. Calls were made to our contact phone, but no messages were left. Our cat was given over to veterinary students who performed a number of unnecessary procedures and vaccinations. Our cat was grossly misdiagnosed. She is now dead. Her end was likely hastened by their shoddy work. They should be ashamed. Society Promoting Cruelty to Animals. And now they reach out and wish to speak. Did I mention the cat is now dead? The issue feels pretty resolved. She was a grand old cat, and now she's dead.
The best place for your animals!! Always treat animals with respect and honestly. People who actually care and not there to print money like other clinics
I feel very confident in the doctors and technicians, and all the staff are very compassionate people.
Waiting list to see the doctor is over 1-2 months right now. Nothing they can do to help they say.
Reasonable prices, good vets and staff.
I got my kittens from a friends cat, but they did my initial vet work. Amazing service and care.
They where awesome with low cost services and always treat e and huneybears with respect and patience..
Took our dog to this place and was lucky we knew someone that worked there! The receptionist quoted me over 5,000.00 and we ended up paying less than 3,000.00 for his surgery. If we didn't know anyone there I'd suggest people get 2nd opinion before going through with any procedure. I get that its business, but dont scammed.
I sent my cat to neuter and one of her claws of each forehand is gone. This is really terrible, she becomes very sensitive whenever I try to touch her paw or to trim her nails. I cannot imagine how she have been treated by the staff on …
My fur baby got ill very suddenly. He stopped eating and drinking and was vomitting 4-5 times a day. I booked an appointment with the SPCA and they were able to get him in right away. Due to Covid-19, I wasn't able to go into the examination room with him. This made me very anxious but Dr. Doris Leung made me feel very comfortable, and made sure all of my concerns were addressed. I received an email the next day from Dr. Leung regarding his blood work results and she was very thorough explaining his condition and how to proceed with treatment. Dr. Leung and Dr. Paxton made sure to check in a couple of more times throughout the next week to make sure he was recovering okay. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you for making my cat and myself feel secure throughout this very scary incident!
Update: Our pup had an allergic reaction, so we returned the next day. The staff setup outside and allowed us to accompany our pup while they administered the antihistamine. The staff was responsive to our concerns and we appreciate their support. Thank you. We brought in our pup for her annual shots and were not happy with how we were treated. Our pup is a sweetheart and on the timid side. She takes time to warm up to strangers but, with compassion and patience, she always comes around. Safe to say, in clinical settings, like many pups, ours does best when accompanied. There is only a small window of time for appointments so staff inevitably need to be efficient. However, a small amount of this time should be allocated to reviewing a patients requirements, mental health included. If there is no time for verbal communication, there should be, at the very least, a way to incorporate these details into a pup’s intake forms. Given the current precautions, the easiest way to accommodate our pup’s temperament would have been to utilize the table available in the outdoor space and administer the shots there. Upon being called up, we did our best to communicate our pup’s quirks to staff. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t listen, told us to stay behind and proceeded to usher our pup to the back. Our pup was uncomfortable and made it clear to the staff. The staff only decided to accommodate our needs and administer the shots, accompanied and outside, when their method did not work. Not fully understanding a patients needs upon intake is a waste of everyone’s time but also unsafe. We are grateful that our pup was Only traumatized but unfortunate we won’t likely be able to return to this clinic given her experience. I encourage staff to update their intake forms and process to accommodate pup mental health needs. Thank you.
They Care about animals
Always good service and price.
Excellent service nice people.
The Staff Have A Safe & Secure System Set Up, To Avoid Covid19 Issues..Thankyou For Taking Care Of All Involved In Their Visit!????????✨
This is our standard place for dog vet visits and supplies for our diabetic dog
Excellent facility with great doctors and meticulous staff!
Great vets. Highly recommended.
My favourite place to take my dog, I have been going there for 8 years. They care and don’t use u for gains monetarily. Thank you SPCA staff
Excellent care for pets
amazing staff
Friendly caring people gave me a hug when I brought in my dead cat for creation.
My doggie had a fall and took him to another place and I knew I was not in the right place. Listened to my intuition and brought him here. They really took their time checking him, asking questions and they suggested some previous steps before jumping into x-rays and surgery like the other place. I will never take my dog anywhere else. Even if I have to do x-ray and surgery, I know is because my dog needs it and not because of poor ethics. Thank you SPCA, really <3
The staff and Vet I saw were really awesome and I'm extremely satisfied! The vet, took her time and made sure there wasn't anything left that she could do to help. The staff were very understanding and kind. This is the best I've ever been treated at any animal hospital. I highly recommend bringing your pets here.
I really need to get my cat fixed however when I found out it was going to be over $300 even here at the BC SPCA hospital I almost choked
These guys are the best. Each of the staff clearly care about your pet. The pricing is peerless and you're helping to support the hospital. Wins all-around
Amazing, caring and follow up on your loved ones Very thankful for their services especially around covid
Staff are always very helpful & friendly ????
We just adopted a kitty and are so, so happy with all the help and care the SPCA staff gave us through the process. Thank you all for everything you do on the daily
I used the walk-in vaccination service with a vet tech 2 times before the law changed with the need to have a consult by a veterinarian for vaccines. It was very convenient, clean.
Great Vets, great nurses and services
I love going here, because I know the SPCA will take care of my fur babies, rather than price gouge me. This is unfortunately not always the case because all veterinary hospitals are private practices, as such, are a business first, and a hospital second. Having worked in the industry I know of poor and overpriced practices that occur behind the scenes. Having the peace of mind, knowing that the SPCA are full of staff that genuinely want to help animals (as is mandated in the name, SPCA), rather than make opportunistic money off of me is reassuring. I also know some staff, whom I went to school with, and I can vouch for their work and demeanor. All the treatment staff I've personally met have been wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
BC SPCA Animal Hospital is very essential in our community. Providing service for animals with great professionalism.
Great place to adopt pets!
Next time it's amazon
Awesome people and prices. They really care for animals and they are not there to bleed you money like other clinics.
They are very professional and really nice to my cat angel she is everything for Me
Friendly staff and great veterinarian. Great service and very helpful.
They are pretty good with animals to my knowledge they were good for my puppy????
So on the ball
Quickly taken care of, by Polite, professionals All my concerns were answered. I was also E-mailed price quotes for future treatments.
Thank you so much for taking care of our fur babies while keeping us all safe.
The veterinarian gives many advice to my kitten.
Had my little boy neutered here and they were excellent with him ...he came home purring ????
Not happy at all. My dogs regular vet is there and he is in pain and needs immidiate help and they cant get me a appoinment for a entire week. Didnt ask who my dog was or what happened. Now i have to take my best friend to get looked at by a stranger that i naturally will not trust.
They gave me free service when I. Ould not afford it pretty cool people whom are about animals
very good with my dog
The staff here is always super friendly. One of the only places I trust with my dog’s care.
Every time I've been here I have been very happy. A few weeks ago my pup stopped eating hard foods and wouldn't let us touch the right side of her face. I figured it was a dental issue and called the SPCA Animal Hospital, who unfortunately could not book me in for 1 month due to Covid. I managed to get an appointment somewhere else and the SPCA animal hospital were very prompt at sending 10 years worth of my dog's medical file to the vet who would be performing the extraction. So, though they did not provide me with the service I needed this time, they did their best to help me with what they could in the less than 24 hours.
The whole staff at the BC SPCA Animal hospital were awesome, they took my dog in discussed every option I had , and even helped with funding. They were all God sent, really. A special dozen of red ????'s to lady that helped us when holding my dog down when the tech was drawing blood from Zeekah, she laughed when we laughed and consoled us when we cried. You made all the difference for us, again thank you so so much, from Zeekah's parents
The SPCA animal hospital is awesome. I had my dog neutered here and the service was great. I subsequently returned for further treatment at the clinic for several issues and vaccinations etc for my dog and was always satisfied. I was especially impressed with the care of Dr. Jackie McDowell, she is an excellent, knowledgeable, kind vet!
I was rejected to adopt dogs and I was treated as I was a criminal. Even though, I wanted to adopt rescue dogs, BCSPCA made it impossible for me to do so. Yet, BCSPCA broadcasted that they needed help due to having too many pets, but Vancouver BCSPCA branch refuses many potential adopters. Be nice, those pets under your care depend on you. When the potential adopters got rejected means that people would go to breeders. Be nice, polite and be informative to the public. Overall, BCSPCA depends heavily on donations.
They offer services for low income families
good place,good price
Great ppl who love pets and it shows thank u for taking care of our baby
Great staff and bedside manners for your pet. Our most preferred pet location for I'll pets.
the cat ls all fully vacanated & only meowed once????????
Wonderful staff and reasonable pricing. Scheduling can be a little tricky as they're popular, but always worth it.
If I can give this place 10 stars I would. The staff is very friendly, helpful and caring. The vet took her time explaining everything we needed to help our dog recover. I emailed my concern and they were very prompt at replying and giving me an appt. Donate to this organization they have a wonderful cause!
These people are friendly but unfortunately lack the skills to be a proper veterinarian. The vets here killed my dog with an improper diagnosis. My dog had meningitis but they diagnosed it as a prostate issue and decided to perform surgery to neutered him. Seeing how he was still in pain, we brought him to Canada West Veterinary immediately afterwards but it was too late to save him. Neuter or spray is their answer to every medical condition. Pets are family, please stop killing people’s love ones with lack of experience, lack of compassion and rushing to see the next patient. One incompetent vet cost a family to mourn a beloved member of their family every day for the rest of their lives. Please take your time on your diagnostic, we sincerely don’t want to see another family lose their loved ones.
Staff is amazing very helpful, thank you
Had such a good experience with the SPCA hospital that I had to review! My female cat had to be spayed and micro chipped. I wanted to get a better rate than our vet and contacted the SPCA Vancouver hospital. Not only were the costs 50% less …
Had nothing but good experience here taking my cat to the vet. They are fairly busy so appointments have to be booked months in advanced. Additionally, given the COVID restrictions they do not allow you to go inside, instead you hand them your pet outside the building and the vet calls you afterwards from the exam room. This exchange left me feeling a little bit in the dark but, of course they are doing the best given a difficult situation and I’m thankful they’re taking appointments at all, just be aware!
Very helpful They are calm and helpful in a stressful situation
Great staff but it's impossible to reach them by phone. You're better off emailing them or going in person.
The doctors are great but the person in the front desk is one of the rudest person I talked to. she interrupted me every single time I called and never allowed me to finish my sentences. She also has an attitude as though she owns the hospital. It's a shame she works there.
I have volunteered at the Vancouver spca for 9 years. A great charity helping poor animals getting lovely homes
I took my dog there for the first time for shots and exam and it seemed like good care. I support the SPCA with a monthly donation so I wanted to make sure to support them further by taking my pupper there. Only drawback is that because of Covid-19 right now, you're not permitted to go in with your pet,you have to wait outside and there's nowhere to sit or get out of the cold if you don't have a car. But obviously this isn't their fault and it's only temporary. And good that they are keeping the virus out. I would recommend them for your pet care...and adopt a new family member while you're there!
Very friendly and helpful. Got my new little buddy.
You put down Echo a 10 month old pupy. You put down a year old puppy Chuck. And a very good dog Hunter. BC SPCA people will never forget how you treated those poor animals. SHAME on you.
Great service, very kind people. Affordable service
Great Service with super Nice professional Staff and knowledgeable Doctors so happy for my Dog ???? Teddy and ???? % Recommend SPCA Vancouver Animal Hospital.
Had my little boy in to be neutered ???? very knowledgeable and kind here at the Vancouver SPCA ...thanks for caring for my boy marshie ????
Great people here, very underfunded so we donate when we can.
Nice staff
Got my kitten spayed here in September. They are one of the few places that offer a discount for those under a certain wage level with proof of T4 which is really helpful. The receptionists were very nice and kind towards all the people and pets. The veterinarian was also very gentle and kind to my cat. You can tell everyone here really enjoys working with animals. The spay operation went as planned as well with no complications.
As instructed, we arrived at the place a few minutes early. We were greeted pleasantly and the staff wasted no time giving us further info about vaccinating Alice and Bella, our 2 cats, and putting our mind at ease with their process. I …
Very informative and friendly staff.
They were rude over the phone.
Very compassionate staff and you'll never be overcharged for anything
