I have been taking Biscuit here for a couple years now. Dr Yazli is super friendly and helpful, and so are the staff members. They also provide lodging at a reasonable price. Biscuit stayed there for more than three weeks once!

Reading reviews does no good when racists take part in the process. All the usual garbage, the place is dirty, the place smells, the guy scared me, he wore a turban, bla bla bla. None of this is the slightest bit helpful when someone wants an objective opinion and the reviews are littered with racist crap. My dog just died at home this morning. I wanted to get her to a good vet, but it is impossible to pick one because of the biased reviews. I did go to Atlas in Sechelt, and they were just fine, but closed up their office due to the racism here. Now anyone on the Sunshine Coast has no choice than to buy dollar based vet "care" and pay three times what Atlas did.

Very kind and helpful people, appointments can be made quickly or walk-in available in times of emergency. Very satisfied with their services.

Thank you for the most thorough and informative assessment. Your attentiveness, kindness and time spent with our Wylie was much appreciated. I was most impressed with your professionalism and knowledge of an aging dog and his needs. Thank you!

My cat Meeky had to have an emergency urinary blockage removed and all of the staff were amazing. I was so emotional and they kept me calm and updated consistently throughout the process. They really do love animals here.

Dr. Yazli is like no other vet. He is incredibly compassionate, tactful and genuine. We had recently moved to Vancouver and went to Atlas Animal Hospital when our 10 yr old mini-schnauzer started experiencing seizures. Dr. Yazli was very hands on and diligent in his diagnosis of our dog's illness. We are very grateful for his detailed explanation of the diagnosis, potential treatment(s) and outcome. It is very obvious that Dr. Yazli is a strong advocate for animals' well being and quality of life. The staff at the clinic are equally kind and helpful. We strongly recommend this animal hospital.

These guys are great; very gentle and caring with our cats, very professional, and unlike many other vets they don't try to upsell you on unnecessary extras. We first went to them when one of our cats had cancer a few years ago, and they were very compassionate with us while being very realistic about the options, and didn't try to pressure us to try the extremely expensive chemo option to buy us a few more months. We just went back this week with our other cat and are very happy with the care she's getting.

We had to have our dog put down here. It was heart wrenching. I will start positively and say the Vet was thorough, kind and empathetic. The faux blonde at reception was HORRENDOUS. Zero empathy, tosses a clipboard at me to "start a file" (I'm putting my dog down) ;and coldly tells me to wait and see what she can do. I feel for small business owners who don't comprehend the impact their front line staff have. I will never go here again. Sorry.

I went to Atlas for dental cleaning for my dog. He is a 10 pound Chihuahua . Before sedating him they determined that he had a grade for heart murmur, a collapsed trachea, an enlarged heart and had a cough ( reverse sneezing in Chihuahuas is very common). When the doctor called to tell me obviously this was very shocking news because heart murmurs can be very serious and an indicator of heart disease. Instead of gently delivering this news to me they went on to tell me all the tests that were required. I was obviously upset and the doctor told me I needed to be polite to him because he was my doctor. I explained that I'm also the customer and giving them a ton of money. He said I'm not getting the money the clinic is. I Found this really rude and unprofessional. After $600 in x-rays & bloodwork, everything came back completely normal. Now three days later my dogs entire chest is covered in a purple bruise and all they had to say was sorry.

I am currently seeking a new Vet in North Vancouver, and was considering your clinic. But after reading an employees angry and illiterate response to a negative review, I would never bring my animals there.

I’ve worked with Dr Jagpal in the past and I am still one of his clients. He is kind, reasonable and tries to help his patients in every way he can.

They take very good care of our dog and cat and our dog is high-strung and can be challenging to work with. We particularly appreciate Dr. Mehdi's understanding and care. They will not up-sell you with unnecessary procedures.

I went to this vet for the first time today. They had really good service. I was blown away by the cost though. My dog had a eye infection and I walked out of there with a $340.00 bill. They do extra tests, give non-necessary medication and make the bill has high as they can. I will not be returning to this vet.

I'm a new resident to Vancouver. Since the wildlife and other things is much different than where I'm from I was worried that something was wrong with my dog due to rashes. The doctor was very good at quickly being able to diagnose the problem, was very gentle with my dog and all around had amazing service. He was great at explaining everything. I ended up getting all her shots up to date the same day and was very informative as to which one was used for. I was very impressed with the price, service and office. This will be my new vet as long as I'm in Vancouver I totally recommend this hospital.

Took my boy to Atlas they were amazing had him fixed up in no time. Examination fee almost a free exam compared to other vets around North Vancouver. I would definitely recommend Atlas to everyone ???? ????

The smell in the clinic is due to disinfecting procedures, I have no problem with that. Dr.'s Arun and Jagpal have worked above and beyond in the scary moments with my Himilayan's Urethral blockages recently. The gals are good getting you in asap, and are very empathetic. The entire staff has been compassionate and kind. Dr. Arun has spent much time reassuring, and explaining all procedures. I have been invited into the back to be with my pets whenever possiblel Racist thoughts do not enter my head. I know they care about my three cats almost as much as I do. Color of skin, and what you wear have nothing to do with good veterinary care, at a reasonable cost. My cats have been coming to Atlas for years, and will continue doing so.

I took my kitten here about 2 weeks ago and it was the worst kind of veterinary care I have ever seen. Apparently they have really nice vets there but it must not be the case for Dr. Mahdi. This guy has no clue what he doing and should be barred from practice in medicine. My cat was vomiting so he decided to try to rack up a bunch of expensive xray bills for no reason. I explained trying antibiotics would likely be sufficient. He then gave me ONE pill (which he said he would let me try) and charged me $20 for it. The pill was supposed to stop the vomiting but when i looked it up online the drug was just an antacid... He told me the best thing to do was to cut my cat open and see if theres anything inside. He said we should go through a lengthy and expensive procedure..The cat got better a few days later on her own.(The cat was just sick) If i had listened to Dr. Mahdi then my cat would have gone into surgery for nothing and id be out $2000. What kind of doctor recommends surgery without any reason?? Dont trust this guy..

Very professional and caring doctors and staff.. Highly recommend this place.

My dog was sick a lot towards the end of his life. He suffered from countless issues. From glaucoma to respiratory to heart issues. They told us not to euthanize. They sold us on expensive medication and told us based on blood work he had done not a week from when I write this that he is doing better. The medication is working they claimed. My dog got acute heart failure over night. I stayed up with him, took him out, tried to put him in a more comfortable position to be able to breathe... Nothing helped. The vet told me oxygen was not getting to his vital tissues. I just signed the euthanasia consent form (at another place). Suffering is suffering. People who drag out the suffering of any sentient being for profit do not deserve to be in business. Please do not patronize this facility. They extended the suffering of my dog. I don't want them to do it to yours.

This is hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a vets office. I have a cat that is incredibly happy, but get very anxious and stressed if she is anywhere but home. Not only did the vet not introduce himself and actually try to relax my animal, like other vets, but he asked me what vaccines I wanted to give her. Really? What do I want to give her? Would much rather have gone to someone with the professionalism to recommend what is necessary to keep my animal in optimal health for years to come. Not only this, but considering this was my FIRST visit to this clinic, it didn't appear the vet cared about the wellness of my pet at all. She is a rescue and comes from a home that didn't give her proper care and as a result of her diet, she is missing two large canine teeth. Without even looking at other records, he took a quick look in her mouth and didn't even say a word about her dental health. Will NEVER return to this clinic - take your pet and run! If I could give this place no stars, I would.

Mackenzie Sheridan

Really would not recommend this place to anyone. Unprofessional and the prices seemed to change all the time. Went to get my dogs stitches out and they missed one of the wounds. Go anywhere but here.

Ok service. Prices good

Dr Mahdi Botyari at Atlas hospital should be barred from practice. He made me hold my poppy as he tortured the poppy for 15 minutes! we brought in the poppy a day before another vet had checked him without the poppy screaming even once! she said its laxating patella. the next day I said let's get a second opinion and I will never forgive myself for it! Dr Mahdi Botyari was inpatient from the beginning. Mahdi Botyari put a very tight mask to tighten face of the poppy and close the mouth ! made me and my husband hold it while he tortured it with his hands as the poppy was screaming for maybe 10 minutes! the poppy was turning his head in the air from pain and crying and screaming so loud even with the mask on and having a hard time breathing! finally I said stop it!!! whatever you are doing stop it!!! he said if you are too upset go out or I will take it to the back and examine! so I went out crying! I could hear the poppy's screaming from outside! I went back in put the dog on the table and the poor poppy fainted from pain!!! and he says: " I have read the other doctors notes from yesterday and I confirm it is laxating Patella!" the only reason we didn't say anything for more than 10 minutes was that we thought he has discovered something new!! to torture my dog?!!! the vet yesterday said exactly the same things without my dog screaming and crying even once! if you hear the name Mahdi Botyari get your pet and run away! he has no feelings for the pets! I will report him to their college!

I was very happy with the service and care Cherry was given. The Dr explained well and took extra time to chat to me about the circumstances.

They were nice and caring, with our difficult patient. Took the time to call me back to answer and dealt with my concern's. Dr. Jagpal was awesome, he was so good with Milo. He expanded everything, showed us what the issue was. We have been taking our fur babies there for years, and have had great service and customer care from them.

After being rudely turned away from my usual vet who claimed it was too late on a Saturday (2 pm) to assist my Labrador, I was able to take my dog in immediately to Atlas Animal Hospital. I was so impressed with the comprehensive, thorough and timely care that my dog received from a vet who seemed to truly care about him and his wellbeing. I received a follow up call the next day and was invited for a follow up appointment. The prices were extremely reasonable (approx $500 for lab work, x rays, medication and consultation). I have since asked our usual vet to transfer my dog’s records to Atlas Animal Hospital and I will certainly be returning to take care of my dog’s future health needs.

I brought my dog in to get checked out for a limp in one of her hind legs. We first saw Dr. Yazli on Friday, he did an examination and took a blood panel from our dog, in preparation for going under anesthesia to do an x-ray we opted in for. On Saturday, he called us promptly with her blood panel results - everything look great. We were told to bring her in at 9am on Sunday, and it was going to be a different doctor (dr. jagmeet), more senior and with more experience doing the x-ray itself. Sunday came around, we dropped Zoey off at 9am, and were told it was going to take 3 to 4 hours. 12pm came and went - no news, 1pm came around, still no news, so I called the clinic. The receptionist told me that they had just done the xray at that time, and the doctor would contact me shortly with the results as he was on a break. I told her that we were expecting to be completed at 1pm at the latest...she said she will get the doctor to call us right back. 5 mins after, the doctor called us back, saying that he suspected a crucial ligament tear, and that he would tell us more when we came to pick Zoey up. I asked what time we should pick her up, he said around 2pm to 2:30pm. When we went to pick her up, he went through the x-ray results with us in the back room - at that time I heard whining while he was doing so, but I wasn't sure it was our dog. Anyway, after going through that, one of the receptionists/nurses brought zoey out and she was panting heavily and breathing really hard with her tongue out. We brought her home and she was still panting very hard, breathing really hard, like she was hyperventilating. Her heart was going so fast, we thought she was going to have a heart attack. We called the clinic back and they told us to bring her back, the doctor said he would examine her again. We tried walking her back there (5 mins away) and she didn't want to leave the building. When we took her back to the apartment, she kept pacing around, still hyperventilating and whining. It took 3 hours to calm her down, 24 hours later, she is still anxious. It is unknown to us what kind of condition they kept her in for that entire length of time, while she was waiting for her xray to be done, to induce such a bad panic attack. First we thought it was the anesthesia, but our dog has been under anesthesia before and never reacted like this. She has also been to other vets before and has never reacted like this. Sorry for the long winded story, but I wanted to put this out there and save you all from going through the heartache we did, seeing our pet in so much distress.

Cat Brick

I have now taken 2 of my dogs to see Dr Jagpal as their primary vet. He has always been very caring, gentle, sweet, and a great doc with them. He was the first doctor to diagnose my pitty with heart failure. He was always realistic with us about her health while always presenting further possible treatments. When it came time for her to pass he came to our house to euthanize her so she could be comfortable and feel safe at home. It may seem small but it was a huge deal for us to be able to do that for our girl. Both Dr Jagpal and his vet tech were so caring and professional through it all and we had no doubt that they cared a lot about her. After losing Simone we adopted our current pup who can be shy with new men so I was a little concerned that she would be nervous. Nope! She loved him and all the other staff right away. She has even dragged me back in while walking by just so she could say hi! I think this speaks volumes about the care that they give that my bub WANTS to go to the vet!

Nicole

Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience with this vet clinic. Our senior chihuahua cross panicked during a fire alarm and escaped our condo a few blocks away. Despite my husband running after him, he slipped out of sight and our beloved pup was brushed by a car. A kind bystander scooped him up and ran him to Atlas as he knew it was the nearest clinic. The clinic staff, despite our dog being clearly injured, with trauma to his face, etc., refused to treat him because the man admitting him was not the owner. We caught up about ten minutes after this, and were told that he had been taken to another nearby vet clinic. I am happy to report that our pup eventually made a full recovery thanks to the kindness and compassion we were shown at the other vet clinic, but NO thanks to Atlas. We were appalled that they would not assist an animal that was clearly injured and needed emergency care. I would NOT recommend this vet to anyone.
