You will be able to see all the reviews of people who bought the products and services of North Bay Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in North Bay (Canada).
Nowadays the business receives a rating of 4.3 over 5 and that score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is high, and it is founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may conclude that the evaluation is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

Love the care they give to all fur babies.. great staff, super friendly. Makes you feel like part of the family
Very super doctors. Our Is Sheril Rea.Very nice!
A very positive first visit. Friendly staff.
Ok selection. Could be better
Recently moved to North Bay and needed a new vet. Really happy with North Bay Animal Hospital with friendly staff and affordable care for our kitties.
The hospital was in very clean shape, and the staff were very helpful and personable as well. The attention my cat got while there was pleasantly appreciated and he even received a new toy to keep him happy.
Little pricey but nice service
Blamed for the death of our beloved Skipper. Over-vaccinated and only seemed to care about the money. Do not go to this vet. Any other vet in North Bay is better!
Dr. Barnes posting 5 stars for her OWN clinic.. How is this allowed!? Real testimonials of customers have posted reviews but none of them are being revealed, only the 4+ star reviews are getting posted. This clinic is corrupt and so are the individuals that run it. Dr. Barnes is very unprofessional and difficult to deal with, she did more harm than good to my poor fur baby. Do not bring your animals here if you want the best for them. Pictures added before bringing my dog there and the aftermath of complications from their “care”. Completely unacceptable and disgusting service. You should be ashamed.
Great care from doctors and all staff.
They were excellent in treatment of our senior citizen pebbles.
Our Vet. Dr. Glenn Ont. Is very compassionate, and helped us through a difficult time. Very appreciated!
I absolutely love North Bay Animal Hospital. All the girls in front and Dr. Ouellette take such good care of the animals, my Meeko gets excited going there. Sees the doors and his tail starts going every which way. I highly recommend North Bay Animal Hospital for all your Veterinarian needs.
Great, safe place for your furry loved ones. Friendly reception, & expert vet techs.
Great staff and very accommodating.
Honestly the vet technicians there are nice and helpful when you go in. The phone is hectic and you often have to wait on hold for several minutes. Got the sense they were under staffed but that wasn't always the case. The vet we dealt with was nice enough but never spent much time with my dog. He was very hurried in his delivery and I sometimes felt talked down to. Not deliberate I'm sure, think that was just his normal delivery but still displeasing. And the office cat would instantly make my head fuzzy and I'm sure that my own allergies made the interaction with the doctor less productive. When I first starting coming that wasn't an issue. The location is clean and the examination rooms are spotless. Always like taking my dog there. I was sure I was giving my dog the absolute best care available for a few years. But recently I desiring a different level of care and was starting to ask friends and family about their vets to compare notes. This particular office is not a good fit for us personally. If my dog hadn't had health complications and we only came in once a year like we did in the beginning I'm sure we would still be please and stay a client. That said, I will not be returning even if I get another dog. Until this year I felt my dog received adequate care. This year however felt rushed. Like things were being missed and I was out of the loop on what I could do apart from basic care. Everything always came down to dollars and cents. It seemed like any option for care beyond medication was only in another city. After my dog died I was glad the vet called me and I didn't have to find out from a tech. I appreciated that. Horrified how my dog died but happy to know I guess. I paid for the final care costs of my dog that day. I had to call back two weeks later to have the office file the insurance claim. This just isn't the right vet's office for us. But I think if you have a big dog or a cat they will be amazing for you. They have a whole cat area and an office cat and a great cat play area. So I'd recommend them for cat people 100%.
We have been bringing our family pets to the North Bay Animal Hospital for many years now. We have had a flurry of visits over the past few months which made me think to write this review. Our vet is Dr. Karen Barnes and both we and our dogs LOVE to see her but all of the staff and other vets have been truly great. Very happy that we have such an excellent local service provider to support our family.
A very caring and friendly environment for your pets! My dog had surgery there for a torn cruciate ligament and the entire team was excellent. Aftercare and physio was also amazing. I saw his transition getting his strength and muscle mass back from after the exercises they had him do. I highly recommend North Bay Animal Hospital for your pets needs.
Very caring and awesome staff
Called Friday as a new customer, got pricing for my dog’s visit, receptionist was very helpful and nice. She informed me that the vet would call me back with an appointment, never heard from them Friday. Called back Monday, receptionist said she had no idea what I was talking about , I said that’s fine I just need to get my dog seen, I stated tearing up and She hung up on me. And keep hanging up when I call back.... I dont understand what happened... definitely avoiding this vet.. Not professional at all!!!
had to bring an emergency to them on a weekend - really nice people.
Took my animals there for over 20 years. Love sherry she's the best :) her clinics amazing
They take such good care of our animals. Our dog was missing for 7 days in -27 and colder in Sudbury. Once found we called all vets in the area and no one would see him. We came home to our vet here and they fit him in that day and kept him for a few hours to ensure he was okay. They are great here
Everyone was super nice and very helpful.
Such a knowledgeable staff,very friendly
We took our cat here for end of life secretive and we very happy with the staff/vet. They were understanding and compassionate
Fantastic as always!
Very professional and compassionate service at an extremely difficult time. Thanks to Doctor Sherri Rea and wonderful staff.
I only bought cat food from here, but the clinic looked amazing and the food selection they had there blew my mind. Like a mini pet store. Will definitely visit again and reccomend!
First time I've had to take my cat with the new locked clinic procedure. I have to say they are running it like a well oiled machine. They've been my vet for a year now and I've had nothing but good experiences with them. They have a wonderful welcoming staff. Glad I chose their practice for my cat.
Awesome staff, they take great care of our cats and offer reasonably priced boarding. Highly recommended for your furry friends.
Great animal care facility.
Very helpful but busy.
Good Care
Hi Briana. We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience at our hospital. The health and well being of you pet is always paramount to us. Brucey was seen promptly to address his emergency and standard care for his injury was provided. Although we provided instructions for at home bandage care verbally and in writing, we are sorry if this was not communicated to you as clearly as it could have been and this resulted in a negative outcome. We are glad your regular veterinarian was able to provide simple follow up care to remedy the issue. Please feel free to contact us by phone if you have any further questions or concerns
Very clean, friendly and professional.
They have cared for two of my pets and treat them like family as I do. When I am not sure how to do something they help. I am always treated well.
very caring and knowledgeble staff
They are always kind and knowledgeable here. We have been coming here for over 20 years!
We didnt have a vet and our dog was very sick. They took her in right away and were straight with what needed to be done and the costs. They gave our dog surgery and she is doing very well now. Thank you
My review is not based on the care they provide because they are not our veterinary clinic so I can't comment on that, however when our dogs ashes could not be returned to Sudbury but we're able to be transported to North Bay they happily accepted them for us so that we wouldn't need to drive all the way to Toronto to get them.
Pleasant staff saw my dog quickly when she got dozens of quills in and around her mouth during a battle with a porcupine.
Very expensive!!! Shop around.
We order our Veterinarian only cat food from here because they always have it in stock in the bigger bags and their price is always $10-$20 cheaper per bag.
(Translated) Dr. Barnens is great (Original) Dr Barnens is great
Always good.
Friendly staff and a vet that really cares for the animals
They're good if you need somewhere to buy specialty dog food I would not take my pet there though the lion will tell you what you want to hear to get your money
We couldn’t ask for better care for our little chihuahua. Dr. Karl. Explained everything in details. The whole staff was very friendly and caring. I would highly recommend them!
used emergency call at 5 am , they arrived l45 minuets after phone call was made for cesarean delivery , they where pushing neutering my dog over the phone wasting presses time . Waiting on parking lot for vet to arrive we got other pup born a live ( 3 th ) three more still inside. i was happy and my female got inside North Bay Animal Hospital .. Sherri Rea DVM shows on my bill run blood test for calcium level in my dog recommended by her associate and return my pregnant female back to me after 15 min her being inside with diagnoses everything is on truck she is going to have other pup very soon , its on the way .Thats what she set . I paid my 352,83 $ bill and before i was able to leave parking lot lights in emergency hospital went off . on my way home i had fourth pup born in the car ( a live ) Then she got stuck again and my 5 th and 6 th pup was born Not a live When i call to set appointment with the owner of North Bay animal hospital on 1875 Seymour st in North Bay requesting hearing with the owner and acting doctor that night to be present , Sherri Rea return my phone call representing her self us a co- owner and denying everything , she made me feel like a lier , she set ..... i denied surgery and threatening her for leaving with out paying because my pup was born live in the car , when i ask her abut not doing ultrasound she respond , i am in business for 30 years .we have a old one and i am not train to use it , but by the law i dont have to use it .and you should be happy with four pups to be a live . then she set she is done with me and will complain on me ( she was trying to make me scare and afraid ) .. i am sure she will call this lie to !!! When i think about it now i could loose more then two pups if she decided to go with c-section , by not using ultrasound before surgery Sherri Rea is completely out of any responsibility no matter what the outcome could be i look at the reviews before me and I am sure i will make the time and effort to report this to The College of Veterinarians of Ontario and will keep you updated even if this takes a year !!! i do not understand how North bay animal hospital is emergency after hours contact in North Bay with others animal hospitals , this clinic could be good for deworming or basic yearly shots and neutering animals . Do your research before choosing your vet , read reviews and ask questions before you have emergency , I do Not recommend this vet .
The friendliest service and people
Always kind, courteous and informative advice and service. I recommend to any who are looking for a veterinarian and front line staff who really care about your pet.
Emergency service for my dog was very professional and reasonable
Had to put my mother's bird down. They wrapped her in a little clothes and found a box for her. They were great!
DO NOT go to this animal hospital. Extremely unprofessional and unreliable.
Take all 3 of my babies here
They refused to sell us urinary so royal canine cat food. Our cat is prone to crystal and cannot have any other cat food. She kept cutting us off to say unfortunately, unfortunately... I will never recommend this place to anyone who is looking.
Always friendly and helpful
Dr. Rae was excellent and very helpful. Highly recommended
I had a really bad experience with this vet a few years ago and I reported them to the veterinarian college. I wouldn't recommend taking your pet here. I would have given them zero stars if that had been an option but unfortunately it wasn't.
No one answered phone
Vary helpful and caring animal hospital. I highly recommend North Bay Animal Hospital.
Awesome place to take your beloved pets. Courteous and efficient and they don't take advantage of you by performing unnecessary tests or medications. They actually care about our pets.
Traveling to north bay for vacation, ran out of dog food. This place was fully stocked for dog and cat food including diet and weight control options.
ANYWHERE BUT HERE! Someone very close to me recently had the most regrettable experience here, her post: "I’m writing this post to shed some light on a situation that I experienced with my dog Bruce at the North Bay Animal Hospital in North Bay. I decided to share my experience in hopes that whenever you or someone you know, needs to bring their furry loved one to a veterinary clinic, that you think twice before bringing your pet here. On August 27th, my boyfriend and I brought our dog to the North Bay Animal hospital for a simple dew claw removal, as his nail was injured from him running around outside. (We brought him to this clinic because we were not returning to Ottawa for another few days and wanted to get it taken care of before it started to cause complications/ get infected. We contacted our Ottawa vet clinic and they advised us to go ahead and get it taken care of in North Bay). They took Bruce as an “emergency” vet visit to get the dew claw removed. For this procedure, they had sedated him and put him on antibiotics and pain medication. When we picked Bruce up, he had a large cast-like bandage on his paw. The vet in North Bay told us to keep this bandage on for at least 5 days and to keep dry. So we followed those exact instructions. 5 days later, upon removal of the bandage, there was a wound on the top of his paw, bigger than the size of a toonie. Right away, I cleaned the wound with normal saline solution and patted dry with gauze. We left his paw open to air overnight. The next day, his paw was missing hair and started to look discoloured so I contacted our veterinary clinic here in Ottawa. They took him in right away and informed us that the nail was in fact not removed. They had to shave his paw to get better visibility and informed us that there was infection where the dew claw still was. We were advised that the dew claw should have never been covered in the first place and should have been left to air right away. The vet in Ottawa removed the claw and advised us to have Bruce wear a cone for 2 weeks or until it healed. As you can see below, once his paw was shaved, we were able to see all of the damage under his fur, where he had blisters on top and on the side of his paw. After the initial vet visit costing us an arm and a leg, we had to pay additional vet bills to fix the complications caused by the North Bay Animal hospital. We reached out to the veterinary doctor that treated Bruce telling her about the aftermath of the bandage they put on him and they was very dismissive. We called asking for compensation as we believed that the complications came from how she preformed the procedure on Bruce, along with the bandage and advice they gave us. We encouraged them to contact our regular veterinary office in Ottawa and allowed that office full transparency of Bruces file. After 3 phone calls with this vet, she was not only unwilling to refund any money but was also unwilling to take any responsibility for the below par care that they gave our dog. They then proceeded to tell us that we can reach out to “The College Of Veterinarians of Ontario” but that a complaint would take 6 months to process and that if we wanted to make a civil case out of it that it would then take years to process AND that at the end, they would still not be financially liable for any costs. After all of these conversations with this vet, I can confidently say that this veterinary clinic is more interested in getting paid than taking good care of your beloved pet. I regret taking my dog there for a routine procedure and I hope that you think twice before doing so as well. *If you want to know why we aren’t wasting our time by filing a complaint, google “College Of Veterinarians of Ontario” and read the reviews going back to 3 years ago, where they only protect their own and don’t take responsibility for harm done to animals which was reported to them. "
Was really impressed with how quickly the hospital took our Maggie. Dr. Rae was wonderful. Treated her but didn't do anything unnecessary. Followed up with phone conversations. Very caring. Maggie has recovered fully. Thanks to a caring facility!!
This is the only vet I will take my animals to Sherrie and her staff are amazing very compassionate and will go above and beyond to make sure your pet is happy healthy and taken care of as if the pet would be their own
Good place in an emergency!
Always helpful and pleasant.
