Dr. Sidhu and Dr. Bassi and Staff at Airport Animal Hospital set the bar high. The Vets actually LISTEN and are open to your input into the care of your animal. They are also by far the cheapest and while this alone should not be THE deciding factor in chosing a vet, when you are faced with costly tests/surgery, could be the difference between saving your animal or in some cases euthanasia. I've had my dogs to vets in Sudbury and Sturgeon and while the care was on par, the costs for the exact same procedures/medications were prohibitive. I live in French River and drive to North Bay (1.5hrs each way) to have my two dogs treated when ill and for their regular care. Their website is excellent with a wealth of knowledge and provides for ease of navigation and can even book your appointment online. The Vets and Staff also go out of their way to try and accommodate your schedule on occasion when you are not able to meet their regular office hours. I HIGHLY recommend Airport Animal Hospital! With a slight delay, I need to thank to Dr. P. Bassi and his staff. We traveled from Vancouver to Toronto, were we flew from with our labradoodle to Porto, Portugal. Despite several clinics North Bay , none of us was able to admit us, even though we were making phone calls 2 months prior to our flight. The Airport Animal hospital, after our desperate explanation, gave us a scheduled appointment. Paperwork for a dog to be transported from Canada to an EU country is not an easy task. I struggled with it for months that to be perfect. The CFIA agent, also located in North Bay was the best we have ever dealt it. And we dealt with 3 of them within Canada. I cannot express big enough THANK YOU to Dr. Bassi for a very thorough work and time he put for our paperwork was to be done right. We landed in Porto, got checked on the airport by a vet, then registered in Europe by a vet located near our new home. We had no problems, all was checked and submitted. Thank you so much, Dr. Bassi!

Our last couple of visits in the last week with our dog Ruby have been absolutely amazing. Prices are very reasonable and they only do whats necessary to take care of our babygirl. Airport Animal Hospital is very reliable when we need them and treat us and our dog with the upmost respect and courtesy. Took my k9 friend in for a checkup . Staff were very friendly and inviting. One of the staff was out in the waiting room doing inventory but took the time to talk to me and especially my fur friend. She got lots of tummy rubs . The dr was great and explained all our options. Overall very happy with this clinic. Would highly recommend .

Service in general was fine. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is that they recommended multiple times that my cat have it's teeth cleaned, which is an expensive procedure. Since then I've had to move twice and each new vet has commented on how good my cat's teeth are and how there is surprisingly little tartar.

The staff have been courteous each time we had to come in with one or more of our animals. We found the Vets to be knowledgeable and the staff to be polite. When we do call with a concern they try to get us in as soon as possible most times it is the same day.

Brought our 6 year old cat to the Airport Animal Hospital with kidney stones. Decided to have the costly operation performed to have the stones removed. The cat came out of the anesthetic fine but a few hours later we were told she wasn't doing well. We got the call in the AM that she didn't make the night. No cat and a large vet bill. Dr Bassi was very professional through the process. The operation was completed in the afternoon and he went back to check on the cat later that evening. The cat was healthy and the only health issue it ever had was a bladder infection. We were offered to have an autopsy performed for additional fees but opted not to spend more.

So far an amazing experience with the most caring staff who answered the phone and their empathy for my cat ???? was amazing I am so happy that she is able to get the help she needs not only that but I heard while on hold they have all the best up to date technology in the industry so I am so grateful for their service and I am confident that although I had been calling a lot of places so it took a few days to find anything I will still hopefully have my animal when all is done with (she's suffering from pyometra possibly still have to get the diagnosis) they just made me feel so much better caring weather my cats in pain pretty sure I been to this one in the past but it was with my other animals and wow like I said a wonderful experience

Do you value your animals life ? Are you suppose to be able to trust your vet / techs with your animals?? ( no -one hired here is a vet tech by the way) Well considering this place injured my dog, tried to lie / cover it up/ or just not inform the proper chain of command in the process. Then try's to sell me tests to check for there mistake they made......... My dog can no longer go on walks. Quality of life is so lost. This place Refuses to even admit their mistake. Had to get the info outta a person working the front desk. My dog also had a lump on his back I was told not to worry about, its normal for his age. Can be removed if i like, but once again nothing to worry about. After going to my NEW vet, its very serious and life threatening. all vets have the ability to make mistakes. BUT one this serious>? I asked for something and they just brush it off like its nothing! I have gone to this place for 11 years, even brought my new pup there. I now wouldn't trust this place with a mouse. Considering I asked to stay during tested and they refused and now my dogs injured. I will not stop til this place admit what they did publicly, and compensates my dogs new health problems. ... not me. DISGUSTINGLY UNPROFESSIONAL , this place may be cheap but its like the Walmart of vet offices, would you bring your loved one to Walmart for check up? Do NOT make the same mistake I did trusting this place with my dogs life. They can do shots no problem, but when it comes time for serious medical stuff... wow just wow. Also they have deleted there reviewing from FB cause so many ppl gave a REAL REVIEW they didn't agree with, so they try to hide, like everything they do.

My dog was horribly sick and I needed her to be seen right away! They told me wasn't a emergency and couldn't see her. So I called another vet in North bay and they helped her. Turns out she had a stomach infection and could have died if we waited for a appointment like this vet wanted ???? never again will I go to this vet my dog almost lost her life because they didn't think she needed to be seen!! Not Professional at all and honestly shouldn't be open doesn't seem to care about animals at all. Hopefully if your with this vet they can save yours instead of almost killing it ????

I was very upset leaving this place and I will most definitely will not be returning. Samantha at the front desk was a pleasure to work with, but the vet himself (didn't get the name, massive unibrow though) had such a nasty additude and was careless towards my Daisy and myself. Daisy is almost three (very old in rat years) and has an issue with her eyes. So, to begin there was a miscommunication with the vet and front desk, being that he required info I didn't have and the front desk hadn't told him that we had already sorted it out amongst 3 phone calls. He proceeded to argue with me and talk over me every time I tried to explain myself. Wish i was joking. Then he proceeds with the examination, he takes Daisy and pinches her by the neck and holds her up. She starts freaking out and squealing as she's never been held so carelessly. So he tells me to hold her because clearly he doesn't know how to. She sits in my arms fully cooperating, then he asked me to turn her over. He gets very frustrated with me because I wasn't being quick enough or something. He says he's getting someone else to help. When the assistant comes in he starts arguing with me AGAIN about the information he needs. I'll end my rant here. Very upset and disappointed, with a dash of confusion

I had my beagle in this week for dental. I had previously brought him in for a check up a few weeks prior, and at that time I had felt uncertain about the clinic. However I did bring my beagle in, believing he needed a few extractions, and when I picked him up, much to my joy there were no extractions, and the bill was almost $300.00 less than the estimate. The Vet tech that brought my dog out to me, was both professional and took all the time I wanted to answer questions, and suggest things I thought were appropriate. I realize in these times that all medical areas are cleaning and spending a lot of time and money on sanitization, they are at best rushed to try to make their money and keep up with demand. All in all, I am happy with the service, I would recommend them now with out hesitation. I believe my dog was treated well, and that is the bottom line for me, as he is pretty noisy to say the least, and I have no doubt at times he drove the staff nuts with howling. ROFL

They have customers leave there dogs in the car while settling the bill. I personally witnessed a elder dog in what appeared to me to be in distress in a hot car in the parking lot . I called the number on the window to inform them first . The very patronizing person on the phone said the customer was inside and coming out. I set my stop watch and waited over 5 more minutes. When the dog started barking like help me help me, I phoned the animal hospital again. They tried to put me on hold , I said no you can't put me on hold, If the owner isn't out when I hang up, I'm calling 911....how can a person who works in a animal hospital , be ok with dogs being left in hot cars in there parking lot. Oh ya dont forget to bring your whole safe to settle a bill for crossing the the front door

I was on vacation at my cottage in Restoule... I needed a vet to treat my dog's ear.... He wanted to charge me $1,250 I managed to get him to sharpen his pencil... $1,050 "my vet said he would have charged $350" After 10 days was up "Joey" my dog had to get his stitches out so..... I went my vet in Hamilton.... My vet was surprised to see no drainage spot for all the serum come out and heel... I've cleaned his ear fo 3 months and his ear is still festered .... Going for second operation today to try and get rid of infection P.S. I wonder if the airport animal vet personnel will call me ? I will write back and post to let EVERYONE KNOW if they responded

My family and I have been bringing our pets to this place for over 10 years now, and though they often voice their opinion, I'm always glad at their service. Some may say they are expensive but they do take into consideration the animals and their welfare. The staff is always nice to work with and supportive even when you call to figure out a med schedule for your pet. My one dog is quite accident prone and I dont always want to go in to get his injuries assessed so the staff has helped me multiple times with what to do in certain circumstances. My latest visit to them was last week, during the covid and so they have a temporarily different system and even so were courteous and attentive to my dog and gave him the help he needed, even though I had no appointment set and they were very busy. I do apologize to other owners who may have had a slightly slower visit because of me. The vet was very nice when he came out and layed out some options for me, recommending the cheapest options which I appreciated and then gave us meds and food to deal with the issue. No vet place is perfect, but these guys are there to help and are always nice about it!

"MY dog no longer has a regular life. He cant go on walks anymore, struggles hard to even make it outside now a days. I called them on a Friday morning after my cat fell down the stairs. I think he had a stroke. He could not walk, would not drink or eat. They told me they could see him on the following Tues. I waited until the afternoon and called them again they still would not see him. I called again on Sat. morning and told them he was not good at all and they still insisted that they could not see him until Tues. I tried other vets in the area and they were closed. I finally called back after they closed and told them he was in really bad shape and of course then they could see him but it would cost me $300.00 extra because the office was closed. I had no choice but to take him and they euthanized him right away - BUT OF COURSE I GOT IN - THEY GOT THE EXTRA MONEY!!!

A terrible experience dealing with AAH. We had our poor dog put to sleep there while in the region on holiday. A very difficult choice.. We wished her remains returned and paid for cremation and were told they would be returned to AAH in 5 days. We extended our accommodations to wait for their return before heading home.. On the day of arrival we sat in the rain for 4 hours in our car..calling repeatedly to check on delivery arrival. Finally around 2pm, my wife called Gateway Cremation Services in Guelph directly to be told our Maggie was still at the AAH awaiting PICKUP..she'd never left!! Why would staff repeatedly tell us Maggie would be back for our pickup promised date when she was never sent for cremation and was still at their clinic? We departed North Bay on our 7 hour drive home heartbroken... Thankfully Cynthia at Gateway Cremation has arranged to have her shipped to our home vet in Sarnia. An option that was available right from the start that staff didn't tell us of! WHY? 5 stars for Gateway, zero for Airport Hospital. Disgusting customer handling!!!

I voiced my concerns on 3 separate vet appointments about some alarming symptoms and on the final visit was met with extremely rude responses of her just “being a puppy” and “needing more walks” (I walked her 3-5 kms per day). I was cut off before being able to fully explain my concerns, which ended up being valid. I was also interrupted to be offered a payment plan, which I don’t need in the slightest, and the vet kept pushing the issue saying “I’ll probably need it". I took my 4 month old puppy to another vet where she was diagnosed with renal kidney failure. Kidney failure was suspected after a simple blood and urine analysis and confirmed in an ultrasound. This is a fatal diagnosis and because of how advanced it was, would have been detectable at any stage in which I voiced my concerns. My concerns weren’t listened to because I was there for immunizations that my puppy didn’t end up needing. Do not trust your beloved pets to this rude, uncaring, money grubbing vet. I will say the Support staff was very kind, but they’re not the ones taking care and diagnosing your beloved animals.

I spoke to someone over the phone the other day to try and get my pet in for an appointment. The person with whom I spoke was incredibly rude, judgmental, as well as condescending. Insult to injury was when she then hung up on me as I was about to ask a question. I had heard in the past that this animal hospital was not reliable, however, I like to give businesses a chance. This is one business who I will never deal with again, and will never recommend to anyone who asks. I'm sure that the vets are good, but it does not excuse the poor behaviour displayed by this employee.

We have been bringing our pets for over 15 years my pets get the best care the prices are excellent. The staff are wonderful and truly care about the animals. I highly recommend them to anyone

Do not take your pets here. Upon moving to the area we had one of ours dogs need emergency surgery for GVD. This vet was the only option. They got him into surgery and we went home to wait. They called a few hours later and said all went well and we could come visit him in the morning. The next morning they called and said he was not doing well but would not specify how. We raced there. I could tell by the vets face our dog was dead. When they brought us in it was evident he had been dead for some time. However they put a heated blanket on him and tried to say he had just died. They offered no explanation but I found out that they left him alone after surgery. I’ve had this surgery performed successfully at other vets. It is major surgery. They are monitored around the clock for at least a few days. These people do not care. They got their $7000 or whatever it was. His cremation was also not handled well. I wish we had driven to Barrie. At least he would have had a chance. He was a fit, healthy 3 year old dog. As a trainer I have since met many other dog people that have horror stories about this practice. It’s abhorrent. ETA in response: It absolutely was this practice. It wasn’t recent. I am sure I have the receipt somewhere. He was a Doberman. You claimed his raw diet was the cause which is absurd and also entirely irrelevant when he was no longer alive. It was thanksgiving.

I went for an ear infection for my grandpuppy which they looked after but they charged me over $200 just for the exam which is outrageous and they never even shaved her ear. I will not be going back here. They also gave me recommendation and one of those is that she should be fixed at 6 years old and on previous visit they said that it is too dangerous to do that after she turns 5 so go figure. Pretty sad when they are supposed to know better.

Been going here for 16 years, Dr Sidhu and Dr Bossi have saved two of my previous dogs when they were in need of serious surgery and they were very compassionate when I had to put my dogs down. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

-5 * as I brought my dog in and it was misdiagnosed and I ended up taking him home in a box with a bill I might add. I was disgusted that they would even give my wife a bill after what they did. I'm sure the back room must have plenty of boxes the way they treat animals. They would not even let us bring the dog inside the first day in case he was contagious...could you imagine if the hospitals did that. We will see you outside cause you might be contagious. Would not even touch the dog with the stethoscope just in case. can they not sterilize it after??? Let's just say, I would never bring another animal there. They can keep their boxes.

We visited Airport Animal Hospital on June 29th as an emergency patient needing care for our dog while at our cottage. The staff was friendly, helpful and very professional. Words cannot describe the complete disrespect a male vet from this clinic had towards my situation. I had an emergency call at 7pm and he asked me to call a vet closer to my house (I live in astorville) because he was going out. Don’t be an ON CALL vet if you don’t want to deal with the emergency calls. I have never had another dealing with this clinic and I will make sure no one I know will ever deal with this vet.

Worst vet experience ever and now today he sent ultra sound results from the wrong dog to me. He just wants money. He hardly looked at my dog when he wanted to put her in the hospital. She didn’t have a temperature wasn’t dehydrated and no diarrhea so why would you need to put her in the hospital. Then he was yelling at his staff. Stay far far away

Never ever go to this place they treat people on low income bad and there pets they dont let them.make payment plans they rather have the animal suffer in pain i had to pawn stuff to get money or beg someone to help save my dog because it was 2 days till payday and my animal was suffering in pain . I thought vets were there to save the animal not out for the almighty dollor

My cat went for a routine checkup and developed a respiratory infection. Obviously they don't sanitize well between appointments. When I called about my cats respiratory infection, the RUDE woman on the phone insisted that I HAD TO bring in my cat in the morning because of "testing". When I explained I couldn't leave work until 3pm, she didn't care whatsoever, basically said too bad, and told me nothing could be done. When I brought my cat in, they didn't do any testing whatsoever and sent my cat on his way with some antibiotics. I will certainly not be returning to this vet.

We have changed vets. Dr. Sidhu was not professional and found the revolving front staff made far too many errors. Especially, receiving a call. That my dogs ashes were ready. My dog was missing. It was quite upsetting. I know it is a traning office for students. The dr.'s need to train them properly.

Their “portal” does not have any useful information in it such as appointment reports or immunization records. The staff do not write professional emails and do not answer questions by email. My pet has a medical problem but they dismissed it as normal. It’s not normal. Do not bring your pet here.

Very grateful for Airport Animal Hospital, they made time to get my cat in right away for an emergency surgery when I wasn’t even a patient there. They were very kind and informative every time I called for an update and took very good care of my fur baby. Do not bring your animals here! If I could give zero stars I would in a heart beat. We called their office 6 times and no one answered. When we called the emergency line, they denied us immediately before listening to what was wrong with our dog. They refused to take her in or even give us advice on how to take care of her. I highly do not recommend going to this vet. They were rude and abrupt and inconsiderate. This is also not the first time this had happened.
