You have all the information of real people like you who consume the products and services of The Lincoln County Humane Society Animal Clinic (Veterinarian) in Niagara Falls area (Canada).
Now the firm receives a score of 4.4 over 5 and the score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is good, and it's founded on a high number of reviews, so we can think that the score is quite credible. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian corresponds to the category of Animal hospital.
Vet Clinic - very happy to have learned that the LCHS offers a full service clinic. Our kittens have been seen by Dr. Field since we adopted them. She's a lovely vet and goes out of her way to include my two sons when they're at appointments (lets this listen to the cat's heartbeats, talks to them about what she's doing and why). Really happy that we've made the switch.
Do not get your pet spayed here! They shaved my dog up to her rib cage and up her side, way beyond the spay area and even cut her with the clippers a number of times. Now not only is she healing from her surgery, but her other cuts as well. They also made errors on her official documentation that listed the wrong breed information even though they just had to copy it off of her original forms I filled out. Impossible to get a hold of or have questions answered... very rushed in and out and overall not a great experience.
So I wanted to make this post in regards to the St. Catherine’s Humane Society where I chose to take this little fur ball to get her spay done. I was extremely nervous to have it done at a humane society, as someone on Bunz had told me they don’t even give you pain meds post op, which sounded horribly wrong. As soon as I got there, they had me at ease (they most certainly give pain meds), every single lady that I met there was so sweet, and put my worries to rest. Half way to the clinic from dt toronto, my car broke down. I left them a message letting them know what had happened and I was trying to figure it out, I was in the middle of nowhere. Minutes later I got a call back from one of the ladies, and not ONCE did she say anything that made the situation worse than it already was. She didn’t guilt trip me, or make me feel bad that I was keeping them after closing hours. She waited over an hour after close with my pup until we could finally get there. Kathy set us up with extra blankets, a sweater, and a ride to the pet store so we could wait inside while my mom drove down to get us. I just wanted to say how grateful I was and that I would most definitely recommend them to anyone. Lo also doesn’t get along with dogs all that well, she’s terrified of them, so they gave her some extra attention to ease her anxiety. Kathy and the staff at the St. Catherine’s Humane Society really made a rather horrible day so much easier. Thank you so much for going above and beyond your job. ❤️
Great work. Great people. Big hearts!
Heather is the absolute worst employee or volunteer or whatever she is and should be removed from her position at LCHS for small animal adoption services because SHE DOES NOT DO HER JOB COMPETENTLY. I spent nearly two months trying to adopt a rabbit from LCHS and it was the worst customer service experience of my life. Finally gave up. LCHS had 37 rabbits up for adoption last I checked. 37! That’s more than any other humane society in Ontario that I checked. Now I know why… Heather makes it extremely difficult to adopt a rabbit.. as if you’re trying to adopt a human baby! First you have to fill out a 4 page adoption package. Then Heather emails you once every few days to nit pick you about your application. They want to know everything like what you do for work, how long you’re at work, how many hours your home a day, every detail of what you’ll feed the rabbit, what vet you’ll take it to, how often you’ll take it to vet. Heather’s response time is awful with her single questions that drag the adoption process out for weeks. I asked if there was a day/time I could call her to have a conversation and speed up the process instead of her emailing me with a question every few days. She said “No I have two jobs and don’t do phone conversations, i’m very busy.” Then later on she told me it didn’t sound like I could afford a rabbit (which is complete bs, she doesn’t know my income!) and she stopped responding altogether. So I called LCHS to ask to work with someone else for adopting a rabbit. I already have one and needed a companion for her. They told me Heather is only person I can deal with. I told them the situation. Then i get an email few days later from another employee who says she was forwarded all my information and will take over the process. More days pass and this girl was just as bad as Heather. They nit picked the second cage I had for the second rabbit. First it’s not big enough, so I get bigger cage… then it doesn’t have a lid on it, they think a rabbit will jump the 3 foot wall. So I put on a chicken wire lid. Then they say the lid isn’t secure enough even though I secured it down with wire and metal clips!! They literally make it impossible! I finally snapped. They say they refer me to supervisor. Another two weeks go by, still no supervisor response! So… I finally gave up! Oh, they also said I could not come in person without appointment to see the rabbits due to COVID. And they wouldn’t let me make an appointment because they kept nit picking every bit of info I gave them! Really a shame because I treat my first rabbit like a queen and her new companion from LCHS would have been treated like a king. So I call Niagara Falls Humane Society. They say to me… sure come down and look at the rabbits! We have about 7. I said… really? I can come see them in person? They said yes no problem and you can adopt the same day. I said wow! I’m on my way. So I walk in there… find the perfect, sweetest, most confident little male rabbit. Adopt him for $75… no questions asked. No hassle, no rude employees, didn’t even have to fill out any paperwork! They took my name and address and did that for me. Process took 20 minutes. I named him Georgie and he is the absolute sweetest most perfect companion for my female rabbit. They are both litter trained now, free roam in my house, and very happy. So.. word of advice to LCHS… get your act together! Fire that Heather girl from small animal adoption and quit scaring people off who could give your rabbits a good loving home. You are honestly horrible! I’ll never forget the awful service and treatment I experienced.
Had my puppy fixed here the y were great. Reasonably priced. Absolutely no surgery problems.
Took my dog there just last week to get neutered and they did an exceptional job at being very efficient while still being very compassionate towards the animals. I will highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is thinking of getting their pet spayed or neutered :)
Excellent staff, thoughtful and kind. I had great communication with them. They fallow the safety procedures in this covid times.
Great service, however seems quite unsanitary. Either understaffed and have too much on the plate , or are just lazy. I'm hoping that cleanliness is an effort they make more for the operation rooms. The whole place smells like ammonia, understanding there is only so much you can do with animals, but I am pregnant and can verify being in that room is not recommended for any pregnant women or young child. However like I said very polite.
Absolutely horrible staff. Overtime I go in they ignore me. I donated rabbit toys and asked to see one of the dogs and was totally ignored. The staff do not care about the animals or people. I;m sure there are people with amazing homes to offer who have come in and have left without an animal because of the staff's incompetence and rudeness. I cannot believe it, I am horribly disgusted and angry.
Competent friendly staff. Animals are well cared for. Cages clean and well fed. Very helpful staff.
Great staff. Truly care about the animals in their care.
The staff at the humane society were amazing. Their kindness and compassion is immeasurable. Thank you so much
They have taken great care of our cat since we got him last year, and he'll be going in for a visit in the very neat future.
We adopted a lovely cat from here
Most cost-effective and friendly vet clinic around! A++++ if you need some Bun help!
So much pets to adopt ! Hope everybody will adopt ❤❤ Their is a vet in the building too
Have always had a great experience and got to adopt and take home another furbaby. With all new protocols in place, you can see the animals and staffing are kept safe. Koodos! Xo
Very lovely place and friendly helpful staff! My housemate recently applied to adopt Salem and got approved really quickly! We had a lovely time in the cat room with her and are so excited to bring her home :D thank you so much for your help!!
I have to admit it is really hard to get an appointment at any of the OSPCAs and Humane Society clinics. However, it is well worth the wait. The staff here is very friendly and very compassionate to animals. I had to call them and put my puppy on a waiting list for their spay and neuter services. It can sometimes take up to 3 months for them to call you back, that's how long their queue is! The day of your appointment you have to go in early and be on time because they only open the doors for that short duration. They give you all the information you need about the surgery and recovery. You are asked to come back in the evening around 4 to pick up your pet. That is when they give you all the paperwork and pain medications. I was really pleased with the service we received. I have and will keep donating to this organization and participate in their fund-raising events. They deserve a lot more recognition for what they do!
Nice staff just wish I could have taken them all home
They can always use donations of cat and dog food, detergent, old towels... Good people looking after poor animals
Love these guys... support them. Get your dog tags.
Great place to take your animal for veterinarian care at really good prices and here the vets are all about the animal and not about how much money they can make from you and they've got a awesome deal on spade and neuter services
Trying to imagine years ago when this was the Welland canal...how small the boats were compared to now!!!
This place has heart care and is a dream to have to help those in need
Very good experience with neutering our cat Mercury. He came home drugged out of his mind kinda funny to watch him falling around but recovery was fast and result was effective.
Lady at the front desk was super friendly & helpful when I brought in a stray cat to be checked for a microchip & see if he was reported missing
I adopted a wonderful cat from here. She is an amazing cat and I got very lucky finding her. ♡
I was very impressed with the staff there. They were friendly and professional. The really care about your beloved pet. They don't make you feel like they are in a hurry to get you out of there, they explained everything they are going to do and what to do when you get your pet home from surgery. My first time there and I would definitely take my pets there again. Great job to all who were involved in my cat ( Patches) care and surgery. ????
Am as of yet unable to get any help call the place up and they give you a number to the same place yet they say they do not spay or neuter etf is it, why can't a phone call be just answered
This shelter is run by amazing staff! The shelter is clean and well organized. Animals are well taken care of and sometimes there are time when theres not a lot of animals because they're all adopted! Great organization for the Niagara community.
Wish they were able to do a bit more for the dog that I brought in that was found. But overall, it was a good experience with the Lincoln Humane Society
The staff is wonderful in keeping the public safe during this pandemic and still providing amazing services. Current by appointment only for adoptions but the space was safe and clean.
I’ve adopted from this humane society for years they are super friendly and always so helpful . They even have affordable pet fixing to prevent extra babies . The affordable rates for adoptions & the time they give you to get to know the pet before you take it home ♥️ my two babies I got from here
Very happy, caring, knowledgeable and polite people. Such a great experience with them.
I dropped off a bag of dog food and Tall feeder stand.Took a look at the dogs while there. Things looked clean, staff were busy taking dogs out for people who wanted to see them.. LOTS of cats being Adopted Daily. They have Everything Done to them and cost Only $25..
Very courteous of our situation and was a big help .
Best place in Niagara for Rabbit Care. Just watch out for pricing shifts, what started as a $250 neutering ended up becoming a $1300 set of bills and a two month wait for neutering. In the long run, am glad they caught the infection that the animal hospital in Welland missed.
We got my cat Alice neutered here and I cannot stop recommending this clinic to everyone I know with pets. Great helpful staff, amazingly affordable (including extra services like micro chipping, vaccines, etc), and super easy. You drop your pet off at 8am, spend the day exploring the nearby towns, and pick them up at 5. Definitely drop by The Bleu Turtle for breakfast while you're in town!!
My husband and I recently brought our cat in to be euthanized, unfortunately just as we were entering the building my cat went into convulsions and released all bodily fluids on myself and the floor. During this upsetting event the staff gave me as much respect and attention as they possibly could. I was devastated and horrified that the floor and runner were covered in bile and assured me they would clean up the mess and not to worry. The kindness and compassion we were shown was amazing. They truly helped us at a very difficult time.
Great service and love the people that actually care about your pets, the prices are comparable to others but the service makes them stand out IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS AND WANT to Feel they do to then this is your place.
I found the perfect dog here 4 her 4ever home!!! Staff was friendly and helpful
Nice staff but not great conditions for animals. Sad visit
It's been over 5 months for my appointment to have my puppy spayed... hoping you guys call soon!
Clean atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful/caring volunteers!
Since opening their clinic and still operating the spay and neuter clinic, they are providing an amazing service to the community.
Sad time for my cat
Very friendly and helpful staff. We dropped off three kittens that we found. The lady told us she will clean them and then after fixing them they will put them up for adoption. We took a tour of the facility and have nothing to say just to praise the people working there.
Great friendly staff. Always take great care of my pets. Inexpensive spay and neuter fees
Thank you for all your support
Picked up my second kitty from this place. They took good care of him while he was here. Great care!
so disappointed with the lack of service from the ladies at the front desk. My dad called about a dog that was on the website and they said we can come by to check him out. So we drove all the way from hamilton just so she can tell us that an application has already been filled out. No apology nothing. We had to put our dog down 2 hours prior to going so we were already having a very bad day. They didn't even ask if we wanted to look at more dogs they just looked back down at paperwork and acted like we didn't exist. If you don't like your job I would say it's time to change your profession. People come to you willing to adopt animals and provide them with a loving home. I get that we all have bad days but come on really...I would strongly recommend anyone looking to adopt an animal to come to the hamilton SPCA! We went right after this terrible experience and guess what...we adopted a puppy and the service was amazing.
I had organized over the phone to help my dad put his ill 14 yr old cat down. It was bitter sweet. Staff over the phone were fantastic and supportive. My dad explained to me how that day had gone for him. From what he said sounded he had support and was able to say his good bye to his dear fur baby. Thank-you so much for what do you ❤ ????
Great volunteers and staff - very reasonable prices and they take great care of animals
Wonderful experience adopting a dog here! Very thorough, kind, friendly and efficient.
They were excellent. The service was great and my dog recovered from her being spayed with no issues. The staff were friendly and efficient.
If I could give no starts or -stars..I would! Completely rude on the phone, denied our application. The Lincoln county humane society's a bunch of liers..and they just screw you around, saying they called our vet and the reference but after speaking to both..vet and reference..no calls were made to either of them. The Lincoln county humane society is freezing, animals have colds and they give them meds expecting them to get better..but it doesn't happen because the rooms are freezing. It's almost like they have the air conditioning on.
After waiting 5 weeks for my dogs appointment to be neutered, and having him go hungry from 5pm until 9am today; we were told he was unable to have the surgers, ON L2R 2P9, Canada y today due to him having immunizations on Saturday!!! When I spoke with the woman on the phone in December about booking his surgery date, she advised that he would need to be up to date on ALL immunizations and if he wasnt they could administer them the day of. So I told her I could get him inon the Saturday before his surgery to have his shots, and she said that would be great! I took the day off of work, woke my daughter up an hour early and brought her with me, had to get a sitter for my other kids, while we brought the dog for a 40min car ride to his appointment, filled out paperwork, waited in the small space they call waiting room, spent 45mins there only to be turned away at the very last minute!!! when I requested a full refund, Ashley the nurse said she would have to ask a manager about that. and said I must have misunderstood the woman who booked my dogs appointment. If it was that big of an issue, why are the able to administer shots the same day as the surgery but not 3 days prior? I am so upset, lost out on lots of time, money and worst of all...I put my poor dog through un needed stress for no reason what so ever. Needless to say; we will NOT be returning here for any reason what so ever.
Only place I go for new pets, adopt don't shop
Their page used to have more information. Now you have to go surfing on different sites to see anything relevant
Very pleasant staff, not many dogs as most are in foster homes, lots of cats.
Adopted one of my kitties here and he is amazing, it really shows how much they care for the animals
I took my dog to get her shots at the vet here and they are one of the most covid-safe organizations I've experienced. We waited in the car for the appointment, then they took my pup in on her own. The appointment started about 45 minutes late, but that happens with any doctor :) thanks for keeping my dog safe and healthy.
Called them for a babysquirrel that fell from a tree on my front steps. A cat was trying to eat it, called these guys and they showed up within minutes to take the poor thing to safety. Super kind staff and easy to deal with.
We have rescued animals from there. Ppl find it in your ❤️to do the same. Give donations to them not just at X mas but any time of yr. Vet bills are expensive. They need your help as these little ones will be adopted to loving homes. I have a donation recently n feel great! These little ones need our help. Please help! Hard as you want to take them all home.
Great place for getting your dog neutered.
Wonderful, helpful staff are available and more than willing to help you find a companion or talk to you about volunteering opportunities
Great staff and wonderful volunteers ready to help you and the animals in need
Took our Lily to see the vet at the clinic. She was very friendly and talked to me about the options. Price is very reasonable. Great service
They refused to answer there phone. If you are in need there is no point going to these people. They can't seem to do the simple task of answering the phone
What's not to like about a place that helps kitties and puppies? I do wish the staff were a bit more willing to help us figure out a dog for us though. We've been looking for a family dog for months, and always just hear "no, not good with kids"... Could maybe go the extra mile like some other humane societies, and have a wait list for people looking for specific (or slightly specific) animals, I'd even pay to get on such a list! All in all they're doing good, just wish we could find a dog with them!
Thank you for all you do for our homeless furbabies!!
Any place that is a savior of life is a place that is to be commend. What a wonderful place that you can find a pet and give them a forever home.
Very caring and knowledgeable staff. IT'S WORTH ADOPTING FURBABIES!!!
Meow The staff are amazing and always friendly. Ive seen that the animals are very well taken care of and the vet always does what's best for the animals. Stay amazing and Thank you so much for being such fur baby lovers❤️????
"Not accepting new patients "... HUH?..AREN'T YOU THE HUMANE SOCIETY???
They took in a baby squirrel. Staff are always kind and helpful
I had my dog peanut and my daughter's dog fixed, we came back to get them both. The people there told use everything about our babies. Just won't to say thank you for all your caring hearts and loving to the dogs and cats bird's and other things. God bless.
Whats not to love about an animal rescue & adoption center? Lots of cute kitties, a nice area outdoors for the dogs to play and excersize as well as an array of rabbits. All the animals are obviously well cared for and loved by staff
Great place treat everone with respect and of course all the pet patiences .
I had to bring in my 25 year old cat to euthanize him. They were very kind and gentle and understanding of what I was going through
Really communicative and helpful staff. Adopted a cat from them last week, and it was a fast, easy and safe process for all
They really seem to put a lot of care in looking after their animals and finding them good homes
Got my dog neutered at their clinic. They even did a follow up as I was worried he had torn a stitch. Turns out they use glue but they were super nice about it!
Clean, friendly, the volunteers and 'socialazers' work hard to get you all the info you need to make a choice.
We had our dog spayed at the clinic. It was top notch service and quality. They truly enjoy animals and treat them and the human companions with respect. Right from the get go, they were professional and thorough including contacting our vet for her records. Roxie was pretty much back to being herself in a couple of days. If you need your pet spayed or neutered, I would highly recommend the Lincoln SPCA clinic.
Very nice and post pictures and stories of new animals frequently telling people when the are available for adoption
I visited their clinic portion of it with my dog and cat. Cat got spayed, no issues and recovered great. He is now 5. Great place! My Olde English Bulldogge puppy recently because ill with what was diagnosed as a yeast infection on her skin from a recent diet change. She was nearly bald from hair loss and not in a good way. The cost was...well let's be honest...not affordable- but affordable for a vet if you know what I mean which most animal owners should! The initial visit was $40 and half they for her revisit. All of her meds (and there was a lot) came to $300 which would have been nearly $900 had I brought her to her private vet. Now she has all her fur back anď is happy and healthy thanks to them!! She is finally booked to get spayed herself which again was 1/3 of the cost a private vet would charge and they amazingly offer a long oist of "extras" during the spay like microchipping, vaccinations, nail trimmings and more! It's so helpful! Just be prepared for a wait if you are going for a spay or neuter. Might be wise to get on the list right when you adopt you kitten or puppy as it can be a lengthy wait of 6 months plus! But for the cost and quality of care it is totally worth every penny!! (Noting that there is no wait for the actual clinic. Just call to make your pet's appointment!). Just to add on to this a few years later, I want to mention that the staff is SO friendly and every time I have gone there, have gone above and beyond what they need to do. You can tell their job is stemmed by their love of animals, not just a pay cheque. My review has not just stayed the same but has increased from 4 stars to 5 over the years. I would never bring my fur babies anywhere else!!
Got my female cat here shes beautiful still have her. Shes so mellow
Knowledgeable and friendly staff, both fostered and adopted from LCHS, if i could give more stars I would.
Can’t say enough positive things about the Lincoln County Humane Society and their vet clinic! If you love and cherish your pet and don’t have a lot of money but want to give them the care they deserve; I highly recommend their vet clinic! The staff are amazing! Kind and understanding, they give you all of the info you need to make the best decisions for your pet. Their services are very affordable and they truly care for your pet.
The staff was extremely kind and helpful. They offered us to contact us when they see a dog perfect for us. Usually, going to shelters, they wouldn't do that, but these people care about their customers and finding homes for these dogs. The staff and I had a good talk and I really appreciate their help throughout my journey of finding a dog.
This is the terrible restaurant with nothing on the menu you would want to eat. But if you're looking for an adoring pet this is probably a good place to start exclamation
I volunteer here and it's a great shelter. The animals are treated well. The shelter is under-staffed and do their best to keep up with everything.
my doggie was neutered here and it was a good experience for him, he seemed comfortable and relaxed
Got my two babies from here. Best choice!!! Adoption is always better
My beautiful German Shepherd was altered at the spay/neuter clinic. Thanks to the vet and all the staff for taking such good care of her.
Once they told us that they put our kitten in a Live trap and she was very aggressive. I had them confirm that is what they did. So yes they put kittens in live traps before they spay or neuter them. Live traps FYI are for catching wild animals , not for storing house cats. It never occurred to them that putting a house cat in a live trap might make it a bit aggressive.
I brought my dog to their spay and neuter clinic.it was a very positive experience overall. I'm very thankful to them for their great work! She is doing well!
Just had my 7 month old miniature schnauzer pup neutered through their clinic. The staff were professional and well-informed, and were all eager to answer any questions. The clinic was clean and designed to keep the whole process simple and easy. Overall, it was a very positive experience for me and my dog!
They shouldn't charge people who can't afford to have a pet and needs to surrender their fur friend.
Great facilities and helpful staff. This location does a lot of rescue missions to save abandoned animals. Please donate to the charity or even adopt your next pet here.
I had to put my dog down and the girls there were so thoughtful and considerate about my situation
Prompt, helpful, caring & efficent. I was very impressed! Great job!
What a great place! The doctors, technicians and staff are all Excellent
Love these people. The humane society can be a bad scenario to be at or it can be a bad day turned the absolute best. If you lose a pet and someone is kind enough to return them and this is where they end up...... hard to beat that feeling of relief and happiness. Friendly staff all around makes that scenario all the better.
These guys are terrible. They REFUSED to allow me to surrender a Cat. I was astonished that they wanted $120 to surrender the animal to begin with. But when they blatantly said no I was shocked. If you absolutely NEED to surrender your animal and can NOT care for it, for example if you have a baby. Your probably better to call them and say you found a stray because they will argue and bicker with you. Thankfully I found an SPCA in Orillia and I drove the cat up there and they found a nice home for the animal. I don't see the point of even having this particular Humane Society, or maybe it ought to be ran a little bit better. The staff for the most part were informative except for one young blonde girl who has an absolutely terrible attitude. The other staff explained that it is their boards policy to turn people away.
They are awesome. Did a great job!
We got our family cat her third shots. $150.00
They were very helpful and lots of dog & cats on hand. Very clean establishment.
Never respond to emails
Great Humane society. Really nice staff. Very friendly
Got our puppy from them. They were very helpful and friendly, wish we could have taken more
Our dwarf bunnies get all their health related needs taken care of here. We even adopted one of their bunnies in need. Dr. Davis is a joy, and you can truly tell that she, along with the other staff, really love the animals.
Absolutely amazing service. The staff at LCHSAC is nothing short of spectacular. Not only are they caring and considerate and clearly passionate about their work but they're also understanding and patient. Also the costs are unbelievably cheaper than what you would find at another vet. Dr Lindsay Davis is by far the best vet that the Niagara Region has and is highly skilled in not only dogs and cats but exotic animals as well - if you have a small animal you need to see her, she is THE vet to go to. I cannot express enough my gratitude to this facility.
They came and picked up an injured squirrel and took him to a rescue place, I was told the squirrel will do ok after some time to heal
So helpful and friendly, helped out considerably with my dog that was abused by my neighbor. Can't thank them for being there enough in a situation that never should have happened. ????
Very thorough in explaining surgery procedures. Be on time. If coming with a cat bring a towel to cover the carrier.
They offer assistance to people whom need it and help as much as theyboossibky can !
They mean well and do a good work. They've helped a lot of animals and people over the years including myself after they found my cat Taco and gave him the royal treatment until we brought him home.
Beyond frustrated with my experience at this humane society. When I called to retrieve my cat who was turned into this shelter I was advised she had been there all of 7 minutes and they had already shot her up with vaccinations which cost me $40. When I got there my cat was being held in a rusty metal cage that’s was way too small for her size. I am completely shocked they would treat an animal in such a traumatizing manner. I strongly do not recommend this shelter to take care of your animals.
My dog had to be put down after 13 1/2 years....that is not the issue but the issue is I had donated well over $100.00 in food to the humane society with not evan a thank You when I dropped it off all I got was of course after ringing the buzzer 3 times was just leave it outside and we will get it. Is it so difficult to come to the door and say thank you we appreciate your donation? I really feel for the animals that are there if that's the way they treat people. All I ask is for a thank you at the door.
They now have a food bank for pets and people with a refrigerator. If you have a garden with extra vegetables you can drop it off there
I used the Spay\Neuter Clinic. The staff was wonderful! They took very good care of my dog, and made the whole process easy!
Very friendly. Took great care of my poochy. Worth the drive out there for the spaying.
Not impressed that my lost dog who is, micro chipped was not scanned to determine his, owners detailed information. The only concern was buy a, dog lisence or until you do we won't rekrssr your dog and cux you don't have a, dog licence we will also charge you $91.00 cuz we did not scan your micro chipped dog & kept him overnight instead of calling me, right away. Long story short. My dog was just bathed & did, not have, his collsr on when he got outside. We still do not know exactly how he got out but I had to call the LCHS to find my dog. He is home safe now & that's all that really mstters
Adoption process is horrible, lots of unnecessary bureaucracy. Stuff ignores you and not too willing to help to get an animal a new home. If you want to get an animal, easier to get it on KIJIJI or from friends and do everything you need yourself because it will take the Shelter weeks before they decide to let you have an animal. they promise to call and never do, when I call myself I am either on hold forever or getting an answer with no information in it. This process should be exciting and pleasant experience, instead it is frustrating to the point you want to cancel your application and take a kitten from somewhere else. At least you can have it right away. Drove there after work twice in a rush and they said "adoption is closed for the day" so I could not take my cat home and start spending time with her.
Good, interested and knowledgeable staff, generous with time. Meds cost through the roof, in my personal experience. If this becomes my permanent vet, will obtain most pet prescriptions elsewhere.
Great staff and a great service for animal lovers. Got my cat from here.
Omg these people here r from amazing ..We brought our dog there ..So friend worked with us on a tight budget..Thank you so much
Love coming here, friendly people, well cared for animals - i wish i could adopt all of them :)
The food is good and the people are nice
I was here getting a micro chip but in my daughter puppy. The staff was very friendly and cheerful plus very calming for the pets. The spca has a resaonable pricing for their services a lot lower than the vets around the area. Plus the money goes to support the SPCA .
The staff was so friendly and helped us get our perfect match!
Animals well taken care of. Staff very helpful.
Do you ever want to adopt an animal just because you feel bad for them? I'd call to have the treatment of animals investigated, but it would ring at their own switchboard. The stench of urine was so bad I had to leave.
My mom recently got a cat from here and they took such care finding her one whose personality fit with her and the family dog which still lives with her. They care about the animals they rescue and make sure they are going to good, loving homes.
I just adopted a cat and they were wonderful! I highly recommend visiting this shelter.
Took excellent care of my dog and helped with all her arrangements as she had passed away
They are so compassionate and professional. Highly recommended them for adoptions and full vet clinic.
Very helpful folks. Clearly love their jobs and working with animals.
We got our second cat from here. She might be shy and timid but she's a lovable purr machine. Great staff, quick turn around on the adoption even during COVID.
Such kind and caring staff. We just adopted a cat and their support was wonderful.
We found a kitten at a local Pet Value and wanted to adopt. We were told to go to the LCHS and start the adoption process. We arrived and started the paperwork. This was three pages long and had to give references as well. We had to put down an nonrefundable $25 payment. The next day we got a call saying the adoption was accepted and to come back to the LCHS and pay the remaining money. The pricing is very inconsistent. If we were to get the kitten from them, it would cost $100. But since it was being kept at a Pet Valu, the price varied from $113 - $150. Once we paid the remaining adoption fee, we then had to drive back to the Pet Valu with the paperwork to finally bring the kitten home. Felt like a lot of steps just give her a new home.
I want to thank the staff that answered all our questions in regards to putting our life long friend to sleep. Levi was very calm and mellow little fur baby, he will be missed. THANKS again for walking us through these steps the cremation in which we decided on. It was done very professional and the condolences card that was sent back with Levi touched out hearts.
PEOPLE MUST GO THERE KNOWING THAT MY CAT, ACCORDING TO MY VET, LEFT THE CAT ADOPTION CENTRE SICK. i WAS TOLD TO TALK TO THE HUMANE SOCIETY ABOUT THEIR LIABILITY WHICH IS N O N E . THE REASON FOR THIS IS BCSE WE SIGNED THAT WE WOULD LIKELY HAVE A CAT WITH URI....FOR THE LESS SOPHISTICATED, LIKE MYSELF...THAT MEANS UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACK INFECTION AS A PRECURSOR TO FELINE HERPES AND SUCH...NICE, LOVELY, BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL. AND OF COURSE, SHE'S WORTH THE EXTRA HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AND YOU WILL PAY IT. JUST KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LIKELY IN FOR WHEN YOU WALK INTO THAT BUILDING.
Such a sad place wish we could take all the dogs home. Just glad that they are there to help the animals.. Go adopt a beautiful pet and give them a forever home.
They helped me out withbsome pet food in my time of need thank you ????????
I got the best dog ever his name is George we rescued him on December 3rd 2017 and he is the sweetest dog ever and the light of our life!
Adoption of Gina, FINALLY happened after an eye infection and a 10 day delay. Happy to have her ???? home now.
Very good place to get your pets treated..
Amazing staff and volunteers. Very clean facilities too. It truly shows that staff and volunteers care about the animals that are in their care. Keep up the awesome work LCHS Team!!
not very friendly staff but helped out a little a lot of the dogs where adopted and they looked very hungry and cold i saw one dog named eva she especially was sad and cold the dogs cages look like prisons the cats and bunnies looked treated better than the dogs
We took our dog on Friday to get neutered. Unfortunately I was not there at the briefing I had my adult daughter drop him off. They glued him not stitched him up I would have never agreed to that. he's they never told me that over the phone. now he is bleeding no on is answering the phones and now I have to pay $600 to my vet to get him stitched up properly. I regret the decision to use this clinic. Our family is stressed out and this poor dog is suffering.
Our cities Animal shelter is amazing. They really care about the pets. The new cat area is also very cute.
Got my dog neutered at their clinic. They even did a follow up as I was worried he had torn a stitch. Turns out they use glue but they were super nice about it!
Got my kitty Lynx from here and was beyond happy with the experience. Would definitely go here again for any future adoptions.
Very friendly staff and clean environment! I loved how well they looked after my little Luna and definitely affordable!
Great place. Explained everything completely. Very pleased.
The staff & volunteers were very friendly & helpful to 3 pet starved children. Adoption process was very thorough but painless. The facility was clean &well later out. Hours were convenient & parking good
I just finished reading the CBC news article about Link and Finn, the two presumably unadoptable fur babies, that the handlers at Lincoln deemed mean from their upbringing. This article restores a high percentage of Human faith for me, I can read articles about humans saving humans and be unaffected but when I hear people helping dogs and animals there is a joy that comes from within me that I cannot control I thank all of you at the Lincoln animal adoption for having such a heart and whomever the brilliant person was, that thought to adopt them to the police station, your karma is immeasurable. I am beyond happy, yay for Link and Finn!❤️
Thanks for keeping our doggy safe when he goes on his Adventures!!
Such a friendly staff that puts you to ease when they take in your fur baby. Got our puppy spayed and I was nervous at first but as soon as I handed her over, they assured me she was in good hands. She's recovering and back to her silky self. Thank you for making the process so comfortable and affordable for pet owners.
In times of angst, truly the "Humane" place to take your pet.???? I adopted the love of my life here and then took him back here, 9years later, to be laid to rest. Thank-you for a truly 'best friend'
Friendly staff good to deal with very helpful
Wonderful place and people. We had to foster our rescue dog, as he was sick at the time. When we returned almost a month later to complete the adoption, everyone in the office remembered him! We are so thankful to everyone at LCHS for bringing us together with our little guy. Fantastic people doing fantastic work!
Very respectfully and understanding when it came to having to put our pet down.
I've called numerous times, always answered by a recording... I've sent numerous emails, always answered by an automatic reply. Does anyone actually work here ???
There always helpful and willing to listen and help with animal food
They are amazing the service is high quality excellent customer service and amazing veterinarians there I always go there and will also highly recommend everyone to go here I am always very happy when I go there and leave there
Our dog is the greatest addition to our family and we are so happy that we have her.
Brought my Dog here to be spay great staff very friendly and the Vet James was Amazing
I am not one to do reviews but I feel it is very important to show gratitude. I want to share my experience with the exceptional service and care that Dr Lindsay has given our dog Kanyon. We have been dealing with his health issues since October. 2017. Dr Lindsay’s patience, recommendations, energy , and care explaining through many long conversations the various steps and routes to care for him has been above and beyond. I am very thankful to find a genuine, intelligent, loving and kind veterinarian. I highly recommend her care and the LCHS’s care for all your pets needs. Great friendly and kind staff as well. Thank you LCHS!!
The staff are great! You can see that they really care about the animals.
Great service... helped with cremation of the family dog... were extremely respectful and helpful during the time of loss
Great place. Helpful, knowledgeable and compassionate staff.
The kitty has 'issues' (was a stray). Always adopt, they'll love you for it.☺ The cat (was very nice) but fought non stop with my cat. I asked to return the cat and was put off for days. Then they'd only take him back if I paid them a hefty fee. I adopt, I capture and have feral cats fixed but I'm punished because two cats do not get along. Never again will I deal with these people.
responses are slow and useless.sorry animals have nothing but love to give.they seem to not really care .thats my opinion.still watching the suffering cant take much more.
Great place. They were kind and caring with my cat.
I need to get my kitten fixed. Not doing right now due to Covid. They were fast to call me back which I appreciated.
Great customer service, always helpful and answered all my questions. And they really do love and care for all the animals.
Had my cat Orange juice lol aka Oj neutered at the clinic. And they staff was amazing and my fur baby did amazing.
Spay and neuter your pets here. My 3 year old rescue chi was spade for $155.00.
Great people here and great care. They truly love you pet like you do. Highly recommend!
very Profesional spay clinick...ther is not inafe s⭐for this clinick ...thak you for you great hard work you do to help
They were Very Kind Helpfull
I feel like I'm gonna be sick . Someone calls you guys because their dad who has had two dogs 10 and 11 their entire lives spent 1000 getting one fixed 3 months ago when attacked by a dog and he gets sick comes to you and you tell him he needs to paid for their euthanasia before even meeting them. You say because no one will adopt them.....is it about only take in dogs you can turn over in cost or about helping dogs in need. My comment better stay up with all the good ones that's why they are called reviews . The family should take that horrible experience to the paper People send donations to help animal's and all you guys about is money. I found two rats freezing outside and was told I now have them and need to pay to surrender them MORE than u charge to adopt them Disgusting and many people agree
We adopted our kitten, Honey Baby , a month ago, and she is 3 months old today. We are very grateful to the staff here, for giving our kitten a wonderful start in life. She has taken to us so well, and has become a total member of our family. Thank you Lincoln Humane society.
Such a friendly place. Always makes me smile.
My wife and I adopted a dog from them about a month ago. Our experience with the society and their staff was nothing but positive. From what we could tell, their staff have some of the biggest hearts around and they have nothing but love for the animals in their care. We were fortunate enough to be able to adopt with them and we were also fortunate enough to make a financial donation to the society after the process. The adoption process with LCHS can be stressful and long but please remember, the animals they care for are their number one priority. If you are serious about adopting an animal with them, please be patient with the process and remember that they are doing their due diligence to make sure these animals go to safe and loving homes. Best of luck to them and all their animals! Thank you to all their staff for what they are doing for these beautiful animals in need. Continue the good work!
Awesome people and place! Extremely accommodating and friendly.
Called to check on a dog we found wandering, wasn't an emergency so was asked to leave a message. Good thing we found the dogs owner ourselves.
They’re closed on weekends and close early during the week, not sure when someone is able to try to adopt a pet with such limited hours…
I Found a baby squirrel in my backyard after falling from his nest, high in a tree during a large storm, the baby was not doing well, I warmed him with a blanket (wearing gloves) before the humane society opened. They gladly took the squirrel, provided him with care and an assesment, had him transferred to a wildlife rescue in Jarvis, where he is being cared for. Thank you so much, for caring about this small squirrel, we are hoping for a full recovery!
For a non profit vet clinic I was charged alot of money for very little care. I brought me GSD to the clinic for a ear infection. She is 18 months old just finished a heat. The vet appeard to be scared of her and continuity through treats at her from across the room (my dog is super friendly to everyone) she then refused to treat her incase she may be pregnant and wouldnt even give her a physical exam (understandably for meds if she were pregnant) but then charged me a extra $15 to clean her ears with cleaning sulltion (the whole bottle cost less then $15 I already have it at home) my total bill was $77 with no exam and no meds. My dog still has a ear infection and is not pregnant now I will have to spend another $100 at another clinic. I wasnt even offered a follow up appointment, very dissapointed in the care.
So incredibly helpful and love bringing in treats with my little to feed to the dogs.
Great great to see most of the cats and dogs are adopted .
Always attentive great service. Prices are great. Highly recommend it
Be careful and think twice about adopting from a shelter. We adopted our extremely loving, friendly little orange tabby who was 4 months old. We have had this little guy for just over a month now. When we got him he had runny eyes and sneezing. He had a fever and was not feeling very well in general. We took him to our vet and they cleaned his ears and gave us meds to keep up with the really bad bacteria infection in his ears. The shelter should have known about this and cleaned him up. He never really got his energy back and his breathing became very labored. We took him back to our vet they did an x-ray of his chest and sent us as an emergency to the Niagara Emergency Animal clinic. Diagnosis, our little guy has FIP and we will have to put him down. After a lot of research we found out that it is very common when a cat comes from a shelter with a large number of cats. It is also known to happen in cats less than 1 year. The runny eyes is also a tell tale sign. Do your research before adopting
We went to drop off some items for the small animal room & ended up leaving with Volunteer applications. :) Facilities were very clean and the staff fantastic! We love that they offer socialization sessions for these dear critters! Keep up the good work!!!
Even though I am a fan of Dr. Davis, I am not a fan of the clinic. Horrible customer service from both the clinic and the shelter. Also, they say they are no kill but they definitely are. If youre looking for a vet, just go somewhere else. They also never answer their phone and will book you on days they arent even open.
Good place it's a little sad going in there seeing the pets without people to love them.
The vet and staff are nice. Prices are great.
I have never been to the Lincoln humane society
We have had Koda for one week and he is the sweetest guy in the world, he does not beg at the table , he just wants to be with us all the time. We are working to help him not bark as people pass our windows, and he needs some manners on not pulling when walking but he listens well and his gentle attitude is great, he gets along with our 5 year old cat and they are becoming best buds. The staff at the society were very good explaining things and yes there were questions but I am glad they try and find out who you are and how the animal will be kept because sometimes it is not so nice. Koda says Hi but he loves his new home and ain,t coming back. Thank the owner who gave him up because we have one lovely pet. Thanks Bonnie and John and Fat Cat
They were great helping us pick a new member of the family. When the dog we liked didn't like our current dog they suggested a pup that was instantly a perfect match.
Really wonderful and caring with our pup when he was neutered.
We adopted our new Furbaby Timbit ( formally Max) Last week. He is fitting in Nicely to our family.
Clinic was well run, clean, organized. Professional service.
Called to report an offleash dog that attacked and bit my dog and the woman on the phone didn't seem to care. Just told me that someone woulddrive by the area "if they happened to be in the area". Little to no concern about the attack or the breach of bylaws for offlease dogs in st. Catharines. Very disappointed
Recently attended the 2019 Barktoberfest at Burgoyne Woods Dog Park and it was great to see the canine contingent in full force despite the day starting out rainy and ending with a mix or sun and rain & wind in the afternoon. Felines were represented in absentia. Nice to find so many volunteers helping with vendor set up & take down along with the dog parade, food tent and other activities. Interesting mix of vendors on site with a wide survey of goods and services for sale or free of charge. All for a good cause the Lincoln County Human Society & Animal Clinic. 5 barks!
We heard a cats cries from a hole at my daughters place. (construction work being done). While we waited for help to arrive, and with the help of a very brave young girl, we managed to get the cat that was buried down 4 feet. The LCHS showed and the 2 officers were so nice and explained the process of what happens next. I don't know the status yet of the cat ( he was not in good shape), but I know that they will do everything possible to save him. And hopefully I will be approved to adopt him when he recovers. He Deserves that. Very fast response, As they arrived 15 min. after we called. THANK YOU
They are doing a great job to help animals here
These people do a great job marketing all their animals which are up for adoption. We picked up our newest addition Joey a few months ago and couldn't be happier.
Polite employees and they take good care of your pet. My female cat was spades and they gave me all the info I needed when she come home. Happy to do business with this group!
I adopted 2 beautiful cats in NOV. We waited about 3 weeks before taking them to the vets for check ups as I wanted to give them time to get use to us and also use to each other. It was discovered that our little one Jack had severe issues with his gums. It was so bad that if you touched his gums they would gush blood. Jack needed to have all his teeth pulled. I contacted the humane society and I was promised they would cover the surgery since Jack shouldn't have been adopted in this condition. We then got the run around for 2 months and they then refused to return our calls. So I went ahead with the surgery because I couldn't stand seeing Jack in this pain. During the surgery it was also discovered that Jack had Tape Worm. Needless to say I have had Jack for less that 4 months, and have spent over $2,000 in vet cost. I think that they were very disrespectful to us by promising to pay for the surgery then leaving us high and dry. I would have preferred they were up front from the get go and just Said they wouldn't cover this instead of lying. Very disappointed in the customer service. Courtney All you had to do was one phone call and we could have had a talk.......Sorry guys you fell short this time.
The cat area and the rabbit rooms looked renovated and made to look like a friendly and inviting pet store. However hidden in the back are the dogs, whose homes look like miniature prisons wherein the dogs look despondent and without hope. They are without toys and stuck in small cells, usually alone and have no interest in approaching humans or their neighbouring canines. They also smelled like they hadn't been bathed in a long time. The moment my partner and I left the room they howled and barked in unison as if to call us back so they are not left alone. Maybe the society are just cat people
Great place when your in a pinch they help you with dog food or any way they can. They help animals in need.
Great caring staff. Wonderful care for animals
Great
Vets here are amazing! So glad I found this clinic
Was very impressed. Took 3 cats in for spaying. They all recovered beautifully.
Great staff and affordable services
Discissed getting my cat fixed. Wonderful business
They do amazing work for their animals just love all they do ❤️
Extremely professional and very caring and devoted staff There are no words
Adopted a very adorable cat. He did not work with our existing cats at home. My wife and I did not want to take it back to the shelter so we found a great home which is a very close friend of ours, so we can go and see him when everybody we want to. We tried to adopt another cat and we were denied due to giving the cat away but the volunteers and counter help were fantastic. The adoption policies are a major joke. (The shelter thinks they still own the animal even after you adopt it). The operation manager should be fired as well as she talked to my wife on the phone like she is a morion and basically said we were cruel to the cat for giving it away and we should have just kept the cat locked up 24-7 and got her( my wife) so upset my wife ended up blacking out.
The staff are fantastic. The price is fair. I will certainly be returning.
Great place to go get a new pet and they take in strays and if you ever unfortunately need to surrender a dog or cat this is the place to go. They are very nice people here
About 2.5 weeks ago my wife and I decided we would like to adopt a dog. We knew our dog Lexi was getting old (13yrs) and might only have a few years left. She found a beautiful young female pup for adoption, but wanted me to meet her first before proceeding with the adoption. This was Thursday, April 6th. She put a deposit to hold her till Sunday when we would come and see her together. We were told we needed to complete the fence around our yard within a certain time frame, which was no problem for us. Saturday they called and said "your application has been declined due to your lack of a fully fenced yard, your deposit has been forfeited". We were soo excited, it was such a let-down. We were absolutely shocked. 3 days later the add for the dog was removed, and a few days after that they emailed us a photo of the family that they adopted her out to. "Hope this makes you feel better" was the message attached. Felt like pouring salt in the wound. I guess the LCHS doesn't care if you put a deposit on an animal, if they want somebody else to get the animal over you, for whatever reason, they'll just cancel your deposit and keep your money. Very disappointed with whoever is in charge of adoptions there.
Absolutely fantastic staff from reception to techs to vets. Won't take my bunnies anywhere else!
Only cares about money, if you don't have money up front because of an emergency. You are on your own.
Went in to adopt a rabbit 3 weeks ago. Filled out paperwork, did the application, and was told 2-4 days until it's processed. Called after a week and was told they changed their processing software so there's a backlog. Sure. I get it. Another week goes by and I go in to check. I meet the new girl in charge of small animals and tell her my situation. She remembers my application and says she'll put it on top of her pile. Later that day they call to get an updated number for a reference. Great, I think, things are moving along. Another week goes by and nothing. I go in again and I'm told the vet was supposed to email me. They didn't, nothing in any inbox. She says she'll ask the vet. Turns out the vet did a half day and apparently didn't tell anyone they were leaving. She then says she will text vet and call me when she replies. I ask her to call the vet after waiting 45 minutes with no response. She tells me the vet is very busy and that she won't call them (???????). Of course, closing rolls around and no response yet again. At this point I suspect I am getting fked around out of either apathy or incompetence. This rabbit has been in the shelter for 3 WEEKS longer than it needed to be, my rabbit is at home alone with no friend for 3 weeks longer than he needs to be, and I am just left here wondering why I bothered to do the right thing and adopt from the shelter when I could have saved all this wasted time and just went to the pet store. Don't expect any donations from me anytime soon. Completely terrible experience, and I definitely won't be adopting from here ever again.
I've adopted both of my bunnies from here. Their small animal coordinators are super helpful. Wouldn't get my pets anywhere else!
Amazing caring.place have helped us with two of our beloved pets when they passed. Amazing staff very caring. Wear a mask!
Did a great job on both my dogs. They both had needles a neuter and a spay. Just one of the staff needs to work on her mannerisms a little bit. The nurse was fantastic though kind, sweet and just overall pleasant to deal with.
Great facility and friendly caring staff.
I HAD A HEART ATTACK THEN THEY SAID GET BETTER AND WE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY MY 8 BELGIUM shepherds and they got rid of them boke my heart I am so gutted
I was looking for a lower cost vet. They seem to be really nice and competant here. I expected it to be a long wait for the appointment because they are non profit and a little cheaper but not at all. It is not as cheap as i had hoped. Mostly because of the medication prices, which are certainly not discounted as far as I can tell. As someone with more than one animal and 3 -4 stray cats I feed off the front porch (much to my neighbors consternation), I need good vet care at a reasonable price. I understand the money is going to a good cause, at least. Not to line a pocket. We can't really have humane treatment of animals without reasonable health care.
I have adopted 3 cats from them. I wouldn't go anywhere else. You can see the care they have for the animals there.
We adopted our beautiful Harry from here. These guys do great work! Please support them by adopting.
The vet and staff were excellent ????
They were wonderful with my little fur baby! I had such anxiety about her getting spayed but the staff was great, very organized and totally affordable. My vet in Hamilton, great staff as well but charged more than DOUBLE. Highly recommended ????
I got my cat from the LCHS and I volunteer for them once a week. The staff are knowledgeable and treat the animals very well.
Very helpful + respectful during a very difficult situation. Thank you for your help.
The staff members at this clinic are always friendly and informative. I have been bringing my dog and three cats to this clinic for a few years now and they all love the staff. My dog in particular is normally shy with vets and doesnt like his paws being touched. He warmed up very quickly and has never had a problem trusting the staff at LCHS clinic. Prices are fair and appointments are flexible. For example, in emergency situations it is possible to get an appointment that day or sometimes the next day despite the fact that they are booked for two weeks or so. This has saved us from going to and emergency vet a couple times.
They help me put my sick cat down without any troubles or hassle even with Covid going.
Came here with a friend to look into adoption. Lots of dogs already adopted which is great to see! Did not hesitate to let us see some of the cats. Screening process for adoption is lengthy and beyond appropriate for deciding our furry friends future home
Went to have my puppy neutered. Paid $125 for the operation, e collar, and microchip. The staff were kind, and friendly. Picked up our puppy and we we're impressed with the look of the incision area. It looks so small, clean, and you can barely tell it's there. I would highly recommend bringing your pet here for this procedure.
When having my dog spayed last year they were sooo great!! The whole team was very nice and reassuring for my dogs health and for my nervousness haha. After being nervous she wasn’t okay after her surgery I called and they were able to get me back in with her as soon as possible due to my concerns (she wasn’t eating her food and I had to give her, her meds with treats and she was shaking and whimpering) after meeting with the lovely vet she was able to ease any of my concerns and assure me she was 100% okay, totally spoiled and working me haha. She made sure she spent extra time in the room with us to ensure she was fine and they opened a bunch of wet dog food to make sure she would eat something (she’s spoiled and just wanted the treats and attention). Very very impressed with this clinic!
Great friendly place for adoptions
Got my BFF Linus from their pet expo adoption event in fall of 2018 5/5 would adopt again
The place smelled awful & they were relatively friendly. I had to pay $100 to surrender my kitty (because of my neighbour) & when I couldn't bare to leave him there after only 1 week 1 had to pay $171 to bring him home. I'mnot fond of the place !!!
Thanks for the lovely pet dog Renegade. He is doing good.
They are very compassionate about helping peoples animals and not ripping them off like most vets! I highly recommend taking your Animals their!
It's kind of sad when you walk into a place like this the animals there and I would have thought would be a lot cleaner but I guess they're too busy I don't know
My dog was picked up from my sons house on Friday night. My son was arrested. So instead of calling me the cops called SPCA st. Catharine's. For ten hours of bourding cost 272.00they said they had to call someone in for this. It was ten pm. The charged 124.: for pick up 124. For boarding nine hrs, and 25. For dewormig whichvwad already donevthen flea bath. She still had my perfume on from night before. Its outrageous how they can do this. Imvon a disability and they wouldn't budge on the price, nor would they bill me. 25. A day afterward. Took the rest of my money for the month. When I went it wirh20 dollars short even though it was american(: exchange) they said pay up or no dog. Humanevi think not and the one manager Nadine was the rude one. Never again will I go to st. Catharine.SPCA they are rude and are just worried about money. So this month I'll stare but I have my beautiful girl back.
The Lincoln County Humane Society always goes above and beyond for the ???? of each and every pet!!! This Christmas season will be 3 years since I fell in ♥️ with my Biscotti (formerly Butchito) & our story together continues... Merry Christmas to all ☃️
Got our dog Sarge from here. Nothing but good things to say. Keep up the good work
Took my dog there to get fixed and they botched his surgery had to take him to a vet after picking him up from the humane society rang them they said it wasn't there problem they are so unprofessional my dog would have died if we hadn't of seen the blood not happy at all with them it's a joke
Great people working there, were very helpful and answered all our questions would recommend this facility for adopting your pets.
Friendly staff!
Like another poster we filled form out mid June to have our cat spayed. We were originally told a 2.5 month wait. It is now over 3 months without any contact from them. Phone line say messages will not be returned. I left message per LCHS note to other poster. Still heard nothing. It is great the work they do, but a little courtesy regarding spay/neuter appointments would be great. If they can't do it in a timely manner, let me know so I can arrange a different clinic. Update. It is now been more than 6 months without any word from LCHS.
Do a great background check to qualify you for adoption.
Friendly place and many animals to view and adopt. Has viewing rooms to be with a prospective pet to interact and consider.
Great place, got to see lots of cats. Very friendly and helpful. Thank You.
Spoke with Kevin with regards to the Pitbull ban in Ontario, he was awesome, answered all of my questions and was overly helpful. Much appreciated
I feel bad for the dogs here. They're not neglected by an means and I have seen behavioural improvements in a few dogs during repetitive visits. But what they do need is better housing for them in the shelter. The dogs have no access to outside and it unfortunately smells like pee because of it.
adopted a 2 month old cat recently, she is the sweetest and most playful little one. Within a day of getting her she starts sneezing a lot and we initially thought it’s our cologne or her litter. She wouldn’t stop so we took her to the vet who gave anti biotics and said she should be fine. her sneezing didn’t stop but it had been just two days since the vet visit so we were being patient. This morning after we woke up her eyes had a watery discharge and she had a runny nose. we called st Catherine’s animal hospital and they said she is just congested and has side effect of the medicine. By 8pm she could barely open her left eye and we called a clinic in Hamilton and they said she sad upper respiratory infection. How does my kitten get an infection within one day of adoption? Every clinic we spoke to said she got spayed way too young and probably wasn’t given the vaccination. I’m grateful for getting the kitten into my life but they need to take better care of their animals.
Good place I give 3 stars for their terrible phone system. So unprofessional. Look into how many people remember or write down information given by automated systems. People hate them so much they dont even listen to them. LCHS has ridiculously long messages between points of being able to choose an option. They do everything they can to prevent the need for someone to answer a phone. I get the logic to save precious money. Turns more people away than anything. Make it a volunteer position for high school students getting their hours. Also a dying Canadian Goose was found by myself. No option to talk to anyone, got a voicemail which again was close to a 3 minute greeting, and no call back. Terrible phone system, way too much information when people guarentee put the phone down to wait it out.
Great place, but the adoption process takes way too long. I understand you have to check things out. Maybe get some extra help in that area and there will be less animals in there
Did you know that thay will help you with pet food. And any donations for pet food at this time of year helps very much. Thank you
Shelter was closed but they let us fill out a application for Larry ;)
They are friendly respectful and make u feel welcome and provide great service.....
very nice people just went see if I could find a new friend for me to love
Great. Wish to request adoption soon
Very pleased with the staff response to phone calls, emails, staff response on posts. This helps the public in comforting them when a pet is lost. And Finders feeling great about reuniting a found pet. Having the clinic right next door helps many people. Public transit is right outside the door. Many of the volunteers are on the lost and found groups and assist in reuniting owners to pets. Front desk staff are amazing ????
They only listen what people said. My cousin has a dog and her one neighbor hate dogs, the neighbour just go call them and complain with no proof, they go warn the owner they will take the dog without listening the real fact. What kind of animal service? The dog is happy with owner for two years since puppy. They just take away any pet once anyone complain without investigation... Very bad..
Clean kennels, friendly people who really care about the animals. Second time adopting a dog from them.
They took great care of my little girl with her surgery (spayed)
Painful to see how what was once a family member is now doing lengthy jail time . I wish they would at least give the dogs beds to sleep on . Following a messsage from John at LCHS I revise my rating WHY ? He clarified some things and when you think about having a warm place to sleep and food in their tummy is what is most important. Id rather have a lost pup recieving that over homelessness. Thank you John And i could do more than complain about HS which is funded by mostly donations. Thank you for that as well.
Great facility and peoe that really love animals and want to help
We recently adopted a cat from them. The staff was amazing, helpful and answered all of our questions. Adoption process was very quick. Would highly recommend them.
Same vet services like any others in the area except they are non profit. It’s something I’d support and their services are more affordable than traditional vets..If you have no pet insurance, this might be the low cost alternative. Only downside is that they do not employ more vets so it might take awhile to get an appointment.
Bless their hearts for what they do. Please check their website and donate if you can.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, and an Inspector who was afraid to take responsibility. Spoke with a "trainee" and "Ashley" on the phone today regarding an incident of a possible dog poisoning and in the snippiest of tones I was told repeatedly to "call the police" After explaining multiple times that an elderly female who lives alone is terrified of calling the police as the person was aggressive and lives next to her - no other solutions except "My inspector said to tell you to call the police, we won't investigate a threat to a dog from a threat to another dog" I explained multiple times that the person stated she put poison down in her yard, and that she owns a dog who is currently walking around the "alleged" poison - but NOPE. Snotty response of "why would you be scared to call the Police". I was then told "I can put you through to my Inspector but he's busy and probably won't answer the phone" Right....we all know that line, I just didn't think a company like the humane society would use it. Their motto is "we speak for those who cannot speak for themselves" - and they certainly did today. They spoke on behalf of that possible poisoned dog and the message was "we don't care - call the cops"
Got both my wonderful cats from here, without the help of the people there i would not have been able to give my cats the wonderful lives they have now.
Treat the animals with love and care. Want them to go to a forever home. Always ready to answer questions.
HORRIBLE people work here. The absolute worst. Told me to come from another city to adopt a kitten and wouldn't adopt me the cat because I don't have my landlords number and don't want to bother my landlord with a call for me to adopt a cat. Wasted 2 hours driving and looking at their cats for no reason. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE. The woman at the front desk had the biggest *b word* attitude. The worst animal shelter ever.
Very helpful when my dog took off
????% hands down a great place to take your fur babies (and non fur babies?!). We are from Mississauga and we took our babies there (St. Catherines) to be spayed and neutered. They were so kind explained what was need and we got them back in the evening. You have to have an appt for this procedure. On appt date you must arrive 10-15mins before 8am. Upon arrive doors are closed but they leave clipboards with pens outside where you take them back to your car fill them out and then wait until the door opens at 8.now there are going to be a numerous amount of people there with the same appointment time so it is first come first serve so as long as you're at the door by the time it opens which really doesn't make a difference then you will be served first. All dogs must be leashed all cats must be created. Then you must returned back a quarter to 5 for pick up. Honestly they were super nice here. Thoughts of going back for more things if they could. Really sweet.
Amazing service, very caring staff! Been bringing my saint Bernard and Husky there for years :)
BELLA got great care when she was spayed..however, she protested about this onesie and did her business on the area rug..so 4 days later I had to take it off..The onesie wasn't a good idea for her...
