I can't recommend this clinic enough. Dr. Boctor is incredibly professional, knowledge, and respectable. He is very good at handling any of your pets, and explains what's happening very eloquently. During a scary time with my cat, he was able to not only help but ease my stress with his calm persona. I travelled from Hamilton to see him, which tells you just how good of a vet he is!

So I brought my Rottweiler/Shepherd here on Wednesday, he had a really bad ear infection and his ear was really tender, the poor guy was suffering. Then after the vet takes a swab of his ear, I inform him that I have no money at the moment, but I will be paid on Friday, and I can pay for it then. This is apparently no good, and I am told to come back on Friday to pay and get the Dogs medication, I left upset on Wednesday because my dog had to suffer the painful ear infection for 2 more days without any medication. I didn't say anything, and just walked out. Today is Friday, I returned there this morning with $130. I was told I still could not get his medication unless I paid the full amount, which was $156.xx. So they forced my dog to suffer days with a clearly painful ear infection, as he whimpers at the touch of his ear, and as I was short $26 the still would not help my dog. This disgusts me. I'm not paying the bill, and I am never going back there. They clearly do not care about the animals, they just want the money. It's disgusting. I took my rottie to a different vet after this exchange, and after the examination, the testing, and the medication, my bill was $116.32. Thank you for naught.

I recently took one of my cats in because he was unwell. I was able to get an appointment quite quickly, and the staff were all very courteous, professional, and friendly. Dr. Boctor seems quite knowledgeable and was very caring and gentle with my cat, and explained everything to me clearly. I highly recommend St. Catharines Animal Hospital to anyone who needs a vet.

Excellent vet. We moved from Niagara Falls to Brampton and we still drive the hour-long drive to go there rather than vets closer to us. We run a cattery and all our animals - 3 dogs and many cats and kittens - have all been treated by Dr Boctor to our satisfaction. --- Since there has been some confusion, I would like to add that Dr Boctor's clinic has nothing whatsoever to do with the animal abuse case in the news. None of our animals have had anything but the best treatment.

I think after my dog having surgery to remove a toe with a high price tag you would think that after 3 days they would bandage his paw after checking it but because I didn't have 80 bucks they refused to bandage after 3 days of surgery and told me to put a sock on it so I did and he stepped on the sock and ripped the stitches out so I call and they were to speak to the vet and get back to me still waiting

I brought my 5 month old English Bulldog here due to difficult breathing. Emergency. Once i got there they took my puppy in due to Covid, no entry. 25 minutes later the nurse come out with a bill for $536.35 for starters. I ask for an explanation and was told just testing and puppy was on oxygen due to breathing. I asked to see the doctor for an explanation. 15 minutes later doctor comes out and said he could not diagnose the issue. He said take him to the animal hospital. He said maybe they could figure it out. I do have my own vet in Campbellville but i decided to go her as puppy was suffering due to breathing. I decided to go to my vet and once i arrived they immediately took the puppy in and said he had a temperature of 104 and the were cooling him and an x ray was needed to be done. I agreed to this, of course. After the x ray the doctor come out and I knew it was bad. The puppies lungs were full of liquid and he was slowly drowning. The poor puppy was suffering so bad he had to be put down!!!!! The original doctor should have known this and he did not even check his temperature or anything. Just a bill...I would never go back there no matter what the issue is. Lots more to this experience but you get what i mean about this place. Seems they only care about the dollar... Update The bill was an estimate and he said he put oxygen for half an hour, not sure about that. The estimate was over priced, blood work not required, X RAY YES!!!!! That would have told the reason why my puppy could not breathe. You sending me away only made my puppy suffer longer. Maybe you need to learn from this. And no i did not have to pay any of the estimte. You said i. Your reply,,, you hope he is okay now. Read my first review, like i said my puppy had to be put down. I agree you said go to ER and i did not pay any monies to you. You should have known an x ray does tell a lot about animals breathing. You also said he was on oxygen for half an hour, when you returned my puppy to me his breathing was not any better at all. Maybe an x ray first of all would have been a great start, not blood work, as you seen the puppy was having difficulties breathing. Next time another pet comes to you with a similar problem remember this conversation as it may help you to diagnose an issue.

I had to bring in my 11 year old cat who had stopped eating and was losing weight. Turns out he was in chronic kidney failure. Dr. Boctor treated my cat overnight for a total of 5 nights over a two week period (and only charged me for 4 nights). The staff taught me how to give my cat sub-q fluid injections at home and since bringing my cat home he has been doing fantastic. He's eating, his coat his soft and shiny, he running all over the house and seems perfectly happy. I have to give him the sub-q injection every other day, and it's working wonders for my cat. The staff at this location are great! Very friendly, caring and compassionate. I would definitely recommend this hospital for your pet's medical needs

Dr. Boctor is an amazing, compassionate, dedicated vet!!! My dog Kiki was having a teeth cleaning and since he's a senior x-rays were done. Dr. Boctor found a big stone in his bladder! Emergency surgery was done and this doctor basically saved Kiki's life!! I've been taking my dogs every year for a wellness visit and no Toronto Vet ever found it before! The staff and other doctors are terrific as well! They are warm and helpful and they keep this hospital very clean which is very important. The prices charged here are extremely reasonable and are basically 1/2 of what I was paying before. I cannot begin to tell you what peace of mind this place gives me. I have 3 pets and am soon getting a 3rd dog. I rest easy knowing Dr. Boctor will be their doctor and I know they are in the BEST of hands! You will not go wrong putting your fur-babies under Dr. Boctors' care. He truly is a wonderful Vet!! He truly loves the animals under his care. In all the years I've encountered vets, he is without a doubt the very BEST I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. And he even does housecalls!!

Please do not take your animals here. They do not care about the well being of your animal, only the money. This clinic is an unethical practice and will not even resuscitate an animal without extra money. Which they do not explain to you until right before surgery. Other clinics are not like this! Please take your pets somewhere else!

I hope my slew of bad experiences with this place are due to the changes caused by Covid, but too many mistakes were made for me to disregard them. I visited this vet on several different occasions over a 4-week span and nearly every single encounter resulted in some issue, from dispensing the wrong quantity of medication, to the wrong dosage, to forgetting to mention a required follow up appointment, to insisting I come in right away, only to tell me upon arrival that there was no need for my visit. I absolutely love the kindness and patience of the front desk staff, and I don't hold them accountable at all. I think all of these issues come back to a veterinarian who is not properly overseeing the required after-care. The issues that I've had show a high level of disorganization and are quite concerning. I absolutely will not be back here. If your pet is a patient and you've had wonderful experiences so far (as many of these reviews would suggest), please double and triple check everything before leaving after your visit during these months. If something doesn't seem right, follow up on it, because my experiences indicate that many mistakes are being made.

I have posted a previous review which initially was not positive. We came to an agreement to which I upheld my end and this "hospital" did not. I'll leave my previous review up for anyone interested in how a company will say or do anything to save their reputation and when called upon, refuses to do so. I'm not going to say negative things about St. Catharines animal hospital other than PLEASE, for the sake of your loved one, get a second opinion.. Your loved ones cannot speak for themselves. Luckily we found a great.clinic and no longer need a second opinion.

I love this place and it's people. I had a very sick dog for a few years that I rescued. This dog (Bronx) was loved by my entire family and the staff here. I feel that without Dr.Boctor providing a sword and solutions I would of lost my dog sooner. When the time came we had to say goodbye as it wasn't fair to Bronx anymore and our family. They supported us on every level and when I was tight because I spent $20000 of MY OWN MONEY they were patient a d helped. I will never forget that nor will my family. I always honored my word with repayment! When we do get another animal Dr.Boctor, Sarah and team will be the care givers. Keep doing what you do guys and dont let anyone make you feel like you didn't make a difference. You sure did for us after 5 other vets had no solution and I thought I was losing him 2 years earlier. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I brought my 9+ year old cat who I adopted in November here because she was extremely extremely sick. She was hospitalized for a little over a week and the entire time she was taken care of in such a kind and loving way as if the techs loved her as much as I do. They would call me daily with updates on her condition; they were extremely gentle with bad news, realistic with any good or hopeful news, and honest about the finances of my cat’s hospitalization (they don’t have a payment plan but you can contact a third party, I believe, to help with payment plans). They are the farthest thing from a money grab, which I am excessively thankful for. All the technicians were amazing and caring and sincere but I am most thankful for vet tech Alyssa. She treated my cat, Calypso, as if she were her own little fur baby. She would give her the love and attention my baby needed in a way that I had expressed Calypso enjoyed most. She went above and beyond for me, ensuring I received cute photos and videos of my little baby via text and email during her hospitalization on TOP of the regular daily phone call checkups. I am so thankful for you, Alyssa, for going way past your regular duties to ensure Calypso was a priority and treated with love and affection. In the end Calypso did not recover and had to be put down. The vet, I believe it was Dr. Sam, was transparent and gave good advice as to whether or not i should put her down or continue the hospitalization and medication which, by that time, had come to be quite expensive for me (remember, over a week in intense care and daily medication and treatment) and after I asked he gently stated that it would be a kind and wise choice to let her go as her health was not doing any better and had in fact regressed. I am very thankful for his advice. After having all the time I needed with her, Calypso was euthanized outside of the establishment, under a clear sky and warm sunshine, in my arms and with my two best friends beside me. I later received a card in the mail signed by the staff of this animal hospital, expressing their love and condolences for the loss of my little baby. It was extremely difficult for me to let her go but it was ultimately the best choice for her and I am very very happy that I brought my cat here for her final moments. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. As a result of the exceptional care and attention by the technicians and doctors, I will be bringing all my future animals to this establishment and recommending it to anyone looking for a vet. Hands down, This is the best vet clinic you will EVER find!!!! My husband and I have been going to St. Catharines Animal Hospital for 8 years (we have had two dogs in that time) and have never been disappointed. 8 years ago the clinic consisted of Dr. Boctor, one vet assistant, and one receptionist - very tiny - and the service was fantastic. It felt as though the clinic was open just for us because there were no wait times and we were never rushed. Now, the clinic has greatly expended in size and in the number of clients and employees BUT the service hasn’t changed - we still walk in and feel welcomed and we are never rushed through our appointments. The compassion and respect from this staff is unparalleled to any other vet clinic we have ever been to!! The prices are affordable, the cleanliness is perfection, and you can tell every employee truly loves their job and absolutely admire animals. Both of our dogs LOVE visiting the clinic which says a lot hahaha. A few years ago one of our dogs passed but we are at ease knowing that he was given the absolute best care he could have ever received. In his slow passing the staff put a heater on him when his paws were cold and cuddled him up with blankets and pillows, they called and gave us updates without us even asking, and staff even stayed later to give him love and company. Dr. Sam and Dr. Boctor are a force to be reckoned with! This dynamic duo worked diligently together to put our sick pup through the most ideal plan of action and were incredibly transparent. In the moment of our dog’s passing, Dr. Sam was so kind, caring and patient with us. At the time, Dr. Boctor was out of the province but still called us immediately after the news to send his condolences and give us comfort. We have to shout out to Sarah and Noufa who showed amazing teamwork doing everything they could for our dog, and also providing emotional support. We have to add that all the vet technicians are incredibly professional, and the admin staff do an exceptional job creating a welcoming environment. The staff at this clinic are more than just the people who take care of our animals. They are our rays of sunshine that ensure our fur babies are happy and loved - whether it’s during a check up, during surgery, or in their final moments. This clinic, this staff, and their medical practices have NO FLAWS. There is no hesitation in our recommendations to this clinic. They are simply the best in the universe. ❤️

I was totally pleased with Vanessa's recent procedure, however, when taping her feet I would have recommended a sock be placed between the fur and the tape. It was extremely difficult and stressful on both of us to remove her bandages from the fur. Feet look excellent and we're both happy it's over.

We came to St. Catharines Animal Hospital with our dog Lucy after she began to develop multiple tumors. From the beginning the VET and Staff were caring and compassionate. They answered all of our questions, and set out our treatment options clearly and concisely. Lucy went through an initial surgery to remove a large tumor on her back - the procedure went smoothly and they treated her with such love. Lucy came home, recovered from her surgery and had many months of playing in the backyard, snuggling on the couch and walking in our neighborhood. Eventually Lucy's cancer progressed to the point where her quality of life was significantly compramised and we had to make the difficult decision to have her put down. Once again, the Vet and Staff at the hospital treated us with real compassion and respect and Lucy passed away peacfully in my arms. I highly recommend the St. Catharines Animal Hospital - I know we will bring our next furry family member here for regular check-ups and treatments. Thank you to the VET and STAFF for taking such good care of our Lucy.

The best vet clinic in the region. They went above and beyond to save our Husky, Aspen. Whenever we bring our dogs in the entire staff spoils them. The vets always take the time to fully explain everything to you and give all options. The entire staff is the most caring that we’ve ever seen. On several occasions Dr. Boctor has opened the clinic after hours to treat our dog. Both Thunder and Aspen love everyone there. They must be doing something right when both of our Huskies are happy to go there.

I felt a alittle rushed and had a few more questions, but I understand all communication and transactions were done outside because of covid and it was cold! overall his care seemed to be adequate. they have great staff and doctors; however they perform surgery really late in the evening and to me that's not ideal. But overall a really good clinic. Just don't allow a surgery to start at 10 pm as it's truly not usually necessary unless it's an emergency. People are always fresh in the earlier hours of the day.

I just read a review from someone who complained about Sarah, and I have to say, Sarah is the most compassionate, kind, caring and loving vet tech I've ever met. She cried with me the day I lost my beloved Rosie. Leading up to the time of Rosie's passing the whole team at St. Catharine's Animal Hospital was nothing but amazing. They took wonderful care of her and made her last months of life comfortable. Doctor Sam and Doctor Boctor are both very caring professionals and even though this animal hospital is a long way from my home, I will continue to work with them in future.

Took my dog there after he ate fern fronds (which can be toxic to dogs). The quoted cost to keep him there overnight was high, and when they drew blood they refused to let me accompany the dog to calm him, and dragged him by the leash into a back room. After seeing how they treated a scared dog (perhaps I've just been lucky to have found other vets with some 'bedside manner'), we decided the overnight stay was not something we wanted to put him through so we paid for the blood tests and were told they would call us with results. They never did, nor did they call to see how the dog was. Not exactly a great experience and would only bring my pet there in the future if it was an emergency.

I had always heard good things about this clinic. My first interaction was when we had to say goodbye to our Golden Retriever Shelbee. Dr Boctor and his staff were very kind and understood our grief. They left us with her for as long as we needed and never once pressured us to leave. Afterwards, they sent us a sympathy card. This will be the only clinic we ever go to going forward. We recently moved to Saint Catharines and were looking for a new vet for our three pets. I made the mistake of choosing the Glenridge Animal Hospital and we paid for a full check up for all three pets ($109 each). My cat had what I thought was small cut on her neck and we pointed this out to the Vet in the exam. She said that it looked fine and to just keep an eye on it. She did not mention any other issues with my cat Sophia. The next day we took Sophia to the groomers as she is a rag doll and she had some clumps I wanted removed. They told me they could not groom her because of the cut on her neck. They looked at it closely and she said it looked deep and might actually need some stitches. I immediately took Sophia to a vet they highly recommended. (St. Catharines Animal Hospital's Dr. Boctor) Turns out the cut actually did need stitches which he was able to do the same day! He also found extensive tartar and a gum infection which was not even mentioned by the doctor at Glenridge. And he found that she had an ingrown nail that was not caught either! Totally unacceptable to charge a $109 full check up fee and miss 3 fairly significant problems. When I spoke to the female vet at Glenridge all I heard was excuses and a sorry for not catching the ingrown nail! (No partial refund even though I had to pay for another exam at St. Catharines Animal Hospital for which I was only charged $50 vs $109 at Glenridge) Stay away from Glenridge Animal Hospital as they are negligent and will still charge you even though they will miss things!! I will not ever go back to Glenridge and I strongly advise you to stay far away from this expensive, negligent vet! I HIGHLY recommend the very through Dr. Boctor and his amazing staff at the St. Catharines Animal Hospital. He is a kind, dedicated, compassionate Vet who really cares about your pets!!

Great reception Staff who are so caring and Dr's who are knowledgeable and effective. Had a medical emergency with my young cat and Dr. Boctor saved his life and was so kind. He even came in on his day off to check on him when there were issues after the surgery. And didn't charge me. It was an expensive experience due to the seriousness and some complications but they did their best to provide some economic relief when they could. He genuinely cares about animals and did everything he could to save my baby. I am happy to report I have a healthy and happy kitty again who will live a long life thanks to Dr. Boctor and his team.

I thought my Dog had eaten a "lady product" and frantically did a google search for an emergency vet in St. Catharines (as I'm not from the area and had just arrived in town) and I'm so glad this one showed up first. I didn't even look at the reviews because I knew I didn't have time to be picky and called right away. They were very supportive and understanding and got me in right away (about 10 minutes since I initially called I arrived at the office). I saw the vet within a half hour of my initial call, he didn't sell me on anything I didn't need and walked me through the plan of action. Luckily, with vomiting induced the situation was remedied and my puppers was given another injection to calm his stomach. I found the price of everything was very reasonable and obviously much cheaper than the inevitable surgery if it wasn't treated. The staff was very reassuring to both me and my dog and I was very happy with their professionalism. Would definitely recommend this vet!

I rescued a kitten yesterday, with only a vague idea of his age. I called this morning to try and get him in for his first round of shots and a check-up, and the staff were more than willing to help me figure out the best time given my work schedule. My little guy caused a little bit of havoc while getting his shots, but both the veterinarian and his assistant took his extreme protest in stride and were able to give him everything he needed and more. Every single staff member we encountered was so friendly and welcoming! This has been my first time at St.Catharines Animal Hospital, and it was a great experience. Would definitely recommend. :)

I switched to this clinic last year during the Covid pandemic. I was really pleased with my previous clinic, but they would not take any appointments whatsoever. My dogs needed their vaccinations, heartworm tests and tick/flea meds. I was reluctant to leave the other clinic, but I couldn't wait until the end of the pandemic to get my dogs looked after. A friend referred me and I have had excellent, attentive service. And, their prices were better! I brought my dog in today as she hasn't been feeling well. All the tests and pricing was explained beforehand. Dr Masoud took the time to explain the results and options moving forward. Everyone was very caring and helpful. Highly recommend.

Doctor Boctor has been our vet for the past two years, and he and his staff have kindly and compassionately treated both our dog and cat during that time. I was saddened to hear today that his office was mistakenly confused with suspended animal abuser Dr. Mahavir Singh Rekhi of Skyway Animal Hospital, and can verify that these are two different practices and locations. Doctor Boctor and his staff are highly professional, genuinely caring, and have provided excellent service. I would not hesitate to recommend him, or to board our pets overnight if necessary. I wish I read the negative reviews before I went. I'm fairly young and it's very apparent that I love my cat. Meaning I'm vulnerable and will spend whatever it takes apparently... It was discovered my cat has asthma. The first treatment didn't work and I was told he would need a puffer if it didn't work. I went back and explained that, if anything, it's a little worse. They then told me they were going to take ANOTHER x-ray (Which they had already done 3 weeks before) and send it to a specialist to make sure nothing else is wrong because "his asthma isn't that bad"... If he has asthma, give me a puffer, or tell me to go home if it's "not that bad". STOP MILKING ME. (they even added unnecessary charges to the bill and I had to tell them to take it off)

My dog was attacked by coyotes. When I called, they gave me the first available spot and worked until 10 pm helping my little guy. Dr Boktor was skilled, kind and professional. Looking back, he and his amazing staff Caitlyn and Sarah took as good care of me as they did my sweetie. They not only called on us to check on him before his next appointment, they repeatedly show they do this for the love of animals aand not the bottom line. I couldn't have asked for better support at such a trying time. The service and compassion we received, is beyond what a vet office is expected to provide, but it's the same every time, for every patient we see there. Lots of people would have taken advantage of me in my state, but Dr Boktor gave clear instruction and allowed me to make informed choices with his support. They do great work because they are great people.

I found St. Catharines Animal Hospital through a Google search and I am very happy to have chose them for my dog. We waited outside in our car for a short period of time as the last patient left the lobby area - only one patient can be in the lobby at a time due to COVID-19. We were happy to see they are following their COVID-19 protocols and did not feel unsafe while visiting the office. Dr. Bocter was friendly, thorough, personal, and timely. Anything he presented to me about my dogs health was accompanied by a complete explanation of the issue and our proposed treatment plan. I felt very taken care of. The front staff are very friendly and informative. We were given two medications and they took the time to explain what they were, what they did and when my dog needed them. Diesel and I are happy to have SCAH!

The care is excellent no complaints. I have been coming here for a few years now and I live a couple towns away but I like this place and the people so I keep bringing my fur-babies to the place I've come to trust with their care but unfortunately I find myself a little frustrated and Don't get me wrong I totally understand some people don't pay their bills but if you have been loyal in payments and haven't ever had a problem before and it happens to be a deadly problm with your fur baby but they still turn you away it starts to make you wonder if they really care about the animals they treat... I feel that if you have been a loyal patient and always pay your bills then you should offer a quartly payment plan instead of half/half I'm not saying you shouldn't have rules to protect your business /financials but in the line of work you chose to be in I feel in life and death situations you should show just a little more compassion.

I felt it was necessary to show them some love. I am a new dog owner (grew up with dogs my whole life but first time owning dog on my own, being responsible for vets and such)... the staff is great and Dr. Boctor has been fantastic too... no pressure on anything, he gives you the information and you decide what to do. They have been nothing but great to my dog Bowser and it's not fair or right to see his facility and staff receive backlash for something they had no part in. We took in our kitten to visit Dr. Boctor today due to a possible eye infection. We were able to get an appointment the same day of calling! Dr. Boctor was extremely professional and knowledgable. He was very gental and knew exactly how to handle our cat while examining him. There were no extra charges on the testing fluid he had to use. Prices were very affordable, especially when compared to other clinics. All staff were extremely friendly. Overall, we had a great experience and wI'll be coming back again in the future.

My husband and I recently adopted our first puppy together and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Boctor and staff a few weeks ago. Was very hesitant on writing this review as I do have a few complaints regarding the desk clerk on duty, but Dr. Boctor and his assistant were both very lovely and made us feel very confident with our choice of deciding to visit the St. Catharines Animal Hospital! The desk clerk on duty, we believe her name was Sara, was very overwhelming and made us pretty uncomfortable. I'm not sure if she's store manager or not, but the way we saw her interact with her fellow desk clerk ( who was lovely, but unfortunately I can't remember her name) was a bit shocking, rude and disrespectful. Something my husband and I didn't enjoy listening to and dealing with as we waited for our appointment.. Dr Boctor definitely deserves 5 stars as he was so great with our dog, but overall our time in the lobby was frustrating.

They are unwilling to work within your budget. The service is more about the money than the pets. My dog needed emergency surgery because of an open wound from a dog bite and they wanted to charge me full price for the surgery etc. Even though my dog already had the same surgery fail only a week before. Dr Boctor and his staff have been taking care of all of our family pets for many years now. All of the staff are caring and professional. We have a 165lb St Bernard, a new mother cat and her two kittens, an African Grey parrot, two Conures, and a Bearded Dragon. Dr Boctor has made emergency trips to our house when our dog was in pain and unable to get up and has always been a compassionate person with our pets. Our current medical visits within the last 7 months have been due to a pregnant rescue cat. Mom and two kittens are doing well and are up to date with all shots, neutering, and spaying. One of the kittens has had some problems and each time Dr Boctor has handled it perfectly. His prices are below others we know of and the service is excellent.

My husband and I were extremely happy with Dr. Boctors services. We took our senior cat to him for a medical emergency (called clinic at 10 to 9 just before they closed) after we came home the other evening to see that she had peed blood. When we arrived at the clinic he was finishing a surgery and then saw Marley afterwards. The cost was very reasonable for emergency care and he consulted with us on the cost of everything he did, I could also tell he cared a lot just by the way he picked Marley up so gently to take her for her x-rays and softly said 'let's go baby.' I care a lot about my pets and I can tell he does too, it means a lot to caring owners to see their pets treated this way.

We brought our dog Jack here and I must say from the time we walked in the door and finished our appointment I was very impressed with the service that was provided to us. Jack has separation anxiety and the staff was patient with us knowing what he suffers from. He also has aggression towards other dogs they also worked around that and made time for us to be seen with very few dogs in office to make our appointment go smoothly. The vet himself was amazing and didn't push to have unnecessary stuff done to Jack and took his time to explain stuff to us as well as listen to us tell him about Jack. I don't think I will visit another vet office after our visit I think we found a vet for our animals for as long as they are with us. Dr. Boctor and the entire staff at St. Catharines Animal Hospital have been absolutely wonderful! My wife and I have two Savannah cats that have been under Dr. Boctor's care for the last five years. About two years ago one of our Savannas was seriously ill with asthma and bronchitis. As a result of the significance of his poor health our Savannah had to stay at the hospital for about a week. Dr. Boctor and his team demonstrated total compassion and genuine care for our cat. In fact one of the doctors stayed up with him each and every night just to make sure he was okay. On one night Dr. Boctor called our home around 2 AM to let me know that it was highly possible that our Savannah would not make it through the night. I got out of bed and drove back to the hospital to see what could be done. Once I got there Dr. Boctor suggested that we try some alternative treatments for our Savannah. I agreed and thankfully our story has a happy ending. Dr. Boctor saved our Savannah from a near death experience and we still have our two lovely Savannas today. We are extremely thankful for the medical expertise that Dr. Boctor has provided over the years. Dr. Boctor really cares about people and their precious pets. Nice staff , not terrible pricing, and usually can get you in quick. However- with that said, Doctor Boctor can be extremely blunt, unsympathetic and off putting.. (probably without even realizing it.) Aswell can be hard to understand the broken English spoken during appts.

Terrible service; called 3 weeks ahead of time to have my dogs files faxed over to another veterinary office before his next rabies shot. Was told they were going to do it that same day even though it took them the very last second to send it over, after having my current veterinary office call them the day of his rabies shot and insist to have the files sent over. As well as arguing with the extremely rude receptionist Samantha and insisting on having police getting involved; only then did she send over the files I had been requesting for 3 weeks! Would not recommend this animal hospital they are extremely rude and receptionists seem very confused, as well as they withhold your pets information. Save your time money and energy much better animal hospitals near the fourth ave and Martindale area.

I had an amazing experience at this clinic tonight. We brought our dog in for an emergency, and now this will be our regular clinic. From the minute we called until the minute we left, we were blown away by the caring kindness and compassion we were shown. Shannon did everything she could to make us feel comfortable with our choice of clinic, she was friendly and welcoming and paid a lot of attention to our dog. J reacted to that even though she wasn't feeling well and went willingly into the room with her tail wagging. Dr. Boctor went above and beyond to examine her. He got right down on the floor to check her out. He was kind and compassionate and gave us the reassurance we needed. While we were waiting for tests Shannon again stepped up and we were offered water, coffee, tea while we waited (I've never been offered anything at any vet in the past!) and kept us company so we weren't worrying. When Dr. Boctor came back he explained the results so we could easily understand them. When we were leaving we were offered a complimentary re-check! This place goes above and beyond and is our new vet. Thank you!

I had to put my cat to sleep after she was diagnosed with cancer and the vet at this animal hospital was so kind and loving to my Siam and I even once she had passed away in my arms he took her from me so very gently like she was his own. In moments when your heart broken little things like treating her so well and sending my family and I a card of deepest sympathies goes a long ways. I appreciated that so much he is also very fair priced and will help you with payment plans. After the whole skyway tragedy it's nice to go to someone who truly cares for your pet.

I am forever thankful to the original doctor Boctor and his past staff for taking care of my cat Chloe when she was hospitalized for a intestinal blockage she was given fluids, medication and laxatives to help loosen the blockage and when she was back home she passed a baseball sized bowel movement but even then I think she almost died because she probably needed surgery. All my experience with this hospital resulted in luck or my own research because over the years I have had my cats back and forth many times without any results. For a while after expanding his practice doctor Boctor did a have a great team of staff and doctors but my last experience was horrible the doctor was new and he did not want to change his gloves and they wanted to take my cats out of the room to weigh them. I found it unsanitary in the exam room and I wanted to make sure the scale was clean. When my cat Bella had dental surgery they made her wait hours before even starting her surgery after I starved her all night and then they called me three times while stopping the surgery and letting her sit on the operation table to call me and ask if I could afford to have more teeth extracted. They said if I could not afford it I could do the other half another time. When she was home she could not eat for days after having 16 teeth removed I had to hand feed her kitten formula and other liquified foods. They did not tell me how severe this would be or how to take care of her afterwards and I almost was feeling so guilty for doing this to my cat and for the fact that they wanted to make her go through this twice because they assumed that I could not afford the whole procedure because after the original xrays and pre-anesthetic blood work and exam they quoted four extractions and they did not ever even offer to do any additional blood work for her blood chemistry before or after the surgery. I also had to ask for antibiotics because they did not prescribe any afterwards. This surgery came after taking her back and forth to the vet four or five times because she was a cat that I adopted and they assumed that she had upper respiratory problems and would continually send me home with antibiotics. I am now convinced that she has undiagnosed heart problems or liver problems kidney problems, diabetes or thyroid issues that could have been diagnosed over two years ago. She is now maybe ten years old but she may be older and my last visit I brought her and my two other cats and my dad was busy and had to leave me there and they told me to wait on the grass and I didn’t want to do instead we waited in the hot sun. Then twenty minutes after my original appointment time they allowed me to bring my cats inside the exam room they wanted to take them out individually to weigh them the conditions were not clean so I sprayed my own alcohol on the table and wall and looked to find gloves for the doctor to change his gloves when he came in the room. The keyboard that the doctor was using before touching my cats was filthy. I did not trust this strange new doctor on staff or his young colleague so I decided to leave after the very rude way I was treated and greeted by the new doctor. I told him I was leaving and I was going to find another veterinary office and he said that is good. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a Health professionals and I am now taking my cats somewhere else. I feel that doctor boctor himself was a nice man who cared about animals at some point but now he is not careful and he lost all of his good staff members.

Everyone is super friendly, the veterinarians are caring, they show concern and care for each animal that is brought in. The girls that run the front, they always fuss over each animal brought in, loving them all up as much as they can. It’s a very friendly environment. They also make time for your pet if there’s a bit of an emergency... they’ll squeeze you in no matter how busy they are, that’s how much they care. They can be swamped, but if they think it’s an emergency situation, they still book 5 minutes for you. They’re definitely the best!

They took us in without hesitation, and were very helpful and supportive when he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I have purchased cat food from here on several occasions. Today I was denied service because I didn't call 24 hours in advance. I was told it was the policy about 20 times without a legitimate reason for why that is a policy. I wasn't seeking any veterinary care. I just needed a bag of food that was on the shelf that I used to walk up to, grab, bring to the counter, pay for, then leave. It's not a complex procedure. The apparent manager, Shannon, who later demoted herself to supervisor, was rude and easily offended by me attempting to convince her that my cats eating in the morning was more important than a senseless policy that she seemed pretty hell bent over. I normally would have gone to Court Animal Hospital where I can call them and they will meet me at the door in 60 seconds. Unfortunately, I had an issue to tend to at work and was unable to make it there on time. This is no longer a reliable backup. Shannon If you don't care about the basic needs of animals, then why are you in business? Also, nowhere on your website explains your overdramatic policy. I am aware Covid is a factor here, but it's cat food. Come on! Court will be happy to sell it to me tomorrow.

I honestly can't say enough about St. Catharines Animal Hospital and the staff/Dr. Boctor. I have been coming here since 2017 and they have helped me so many times. From my boxer getting Pancreatitis, to needing an emergency spay/spleen removal and even helping my cat with his dental issues. The doctors and all staff are so kind, compassionate and genuinely care about animals. This past Friday (Nov. 13th) I unfortunately had to let go of my boxer after she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and went downhill. All the staff were SO kind and caring. They treated me kindly and allowed me to take all the time in the world to say goodbye to my baby. Dr. Boctor was incredible, very informative and very direct when asked for a direct answer. It made a horrible situation a bit easier. I also want to thank the one bald male technician. In her final moments you treated her so sweetly and pet her with me as the final dose was administered and I could see it hurt you as well. You're a great man. Thank you everyone. I can't recommend this place enough.

I loved this place until recently. My best friend's cat had to have surgery mid-December on his leg. He has been coming back almost every 3 days to have it re-checked and bandaged. And there is a charge EVERY time. I get that the vet's time is money, but the surgery was super expensive to start with! Not only that, on the last visit they tried to say "The infection is gone." What infection? No infection was mentioned, no antibiotics were provided. Then they said to bring him back today and everything would be done. Nope - more bandaging and more money! And the vet never comes to talk to us! Ever! So the information we are getting is "guessing". This is ridiculous and I am super unhappy. My previous recommendations to this vet are being reconsidered.

It was unfortunate we had to come here to put out ferret down but we were thankful the expierience was amazing. Out of 20+ vets we called this was the only office that would allow us to be with out pet while we said good bye. This vet office went above and beyond they even went as far as to sedate her so she wouldnt feel the pain where the other vet clinics said it would be too painfull for the ferret so we couldnt be on the room because they didnt want us seeing that.... thank you for allowing us to say goodbye and thank you for your amazimg kindness because we found this place we didnt have to let her passaway on her own.

Being a new crazy cat dad I’m always worried about my little guy Apawlo! I called to the vet next door to me and they refused to see him citing Covid as a reason (which to me as a vet I don’t think that’s a good enough reason, you’re essentially a doctor)! So I called St Catherine’s Animal Hospital even though it is a little further! The care and love and professionalism I found from the nurses, to the front desk and to Dr. Boctor is unmatched! I went in last week to have my 8 year old female dog looked at. she was not eating and was lethargic. the doctor knew we were worried.. he came in and had zero kindness to her -- actually looked in her direction barely and said "hi big guy" -- he felt her abdomen and said she was sensitive - I didn't share that same observation. He asked me if she lost any weight and I said no. we spent over $700 on an antibiotic and bloodwork. her bloodwork checked out and the doctor tried to get us in for an Ultrasound for another $700. he said lethargy was not a symptom to a UTI and in his professional opinion there was a good chance my dog had cancer. it clearly is a symptom of a UTI. I looked him in the eye and asked him this question, if he thought Kenya had cancer -- he said "yes" -- this sent our family into a downward spiral - OBVIOUSLY - but something wasnt right. I called our old vet in Toronto -- we moved here two years ago -- and they took my girl in the next morning. He calmed us down and did HIS JOB in telling us yes this could be a worst case scenario situation -- but we need to be calm and wait this out to see if the antibiotic kicked in. He did HIS JOB by not using fear to play on our emotions and spend more money with him. Kenya recovered two days later with the antibiotic -- so we thank you for that but not for the fear and the way you handled this as a professional. doctor boctor you always are quick to reply to these comments people consistently leave for you. Im going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you made an error in telling us you thought Kenya had cancer and Im going to give you the benefit of the doubt you will not simply use the same rhetoric you've been using for all your negative feedback. your saving grace even with our other dog who you also had zero kindness towards is your staff. they are wonderful.. very nice. and if they work in the industry somewhere else - perhaps we'll see them again... we are moving on from you -- I hope you are ok and dont need to bill people on fear as much as you seem to be doing in the current climate.

I recently brought my very ill 16 year old cat in for an appointment and it turned out she needed emergency pyometra surgery. Given her age and weakened state we weren’t sure she would make it, but we took a chance on her. It has been a week after surgery and she is an entirely different cat! She is still healing, but we’ve already noticed a positive change in her personality, eating habits and overall happiness. So glad we brought her to this hospital. This has been by far the best vet I have been too! Dr. Boctor is an amazing vet he had great prices for my pregnant dog who needed to have a c section she had 12 puppies in her and was a small/medium breed while the father was a larger breed, and him and his team saved all 12 puppies and the mom dog Harley is in great condition as well everything healed beautifully and all puppies are happy and healthy! I previously went to other vets who quoted me at ridiculous prices for the c section and the puppies first shots and deworming but Dr Boctor offered a very good price for the c section and the first shots and deworming. He genuinely cared about my dog and all the puppies ! He kept me updated as well as his amazing staff on how everything went and was very happy along with me that everything went good ! He is very knowledgeable and cares about what he does. I had a previous experience with him with my kitten who was very ill and he did everything he could to try and help her and help me when I almost wasn't able to pay for the surgery he found a way to make it so I could. By far the best place to go and I won't go to any other vet because my experience was above and beyond everytime! Both me and my parents have all our animals going to him and I would like to thank his staff and him for all their hard work and dedication to the care they give to my animals !

My youngest kitten went in for (what we thought) would just be a dental surgery. It turned into dental and a mastectomy due to a tumor on her belly. I cannot express my love and gratitude to the staff (esp the doc and techs) who answered all mine and my husband's questions and allowed us some time with her before her surgery. They also allowed me to pick her up that night (her temp was low and I wanted her home where I could watch over her). When we got the results back on her tumor (cancer; moderately aggressive), the doc took time out of his busy day to answer my questions and assure me we were doing all we can for her. Right now she is healing from the surgeries and not showing any signs of deterioration so we are somewhat hopeful for the future and that we got it all but only time will tell. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Also I will be recommending them to my friends and family.

By far, the best animal hospital I've been to! Dr. Boctor is truly a compassionate, honest and very professional vet. He really does care about the animals he sees. My family has gone to him for yearly check-ups and vaccines, medications and dental work. My little maltese started to have seizures and we found out he has a heart condition. Dr. Doctor provided very professional advice on what medication he should take and followed-up with me to see how he was doing. Overall, very very happy that we found this clinic!

On Thanksgiving long weekend our dog ran out of the only food he can eat without getting really sick. We didn't know u were closed on the weekend and we were frantic because he had nothing to eat. We were outside trying to find somewhere to get food for him when Shanon came to the door. We told her what was going on and she said no problem and sold us the food even though they were closed and she was there to check on pets only. She was so kind and compassionate and really cares, she knew Hugo and asked about him and you can see she really cares. I had my dog in for dental surgery and I will never go back to this place. When I brought my dog in I was asked to sign different forms, which is normal. There were however two forms that shocked me. The one form was a DNR(do not resuscitate). Meaning, if during surgery something were to go wrong, did I want them to try to save him. I didnt realize that that was a question that needed to be asked. The catch was that I would have to pay an additional $280 if I didnt want them to just "let him die" on the table. Also, there was apparently a "specialized" bloodwork that could be done so that they could administer the anesthesia more tailored to my dog. That was an additional $121. I declined on both because I simply could not afford these extra charges. My original quote was for $893.985. By the time I was dione I paid them $1565. The worst part is that the surgery wasnt even completed. They extracted 10 molars but they told me that another 11 teeth would have to be removed at a later date. I am beside myself as to how a veterinarian could actually be so uncaring as to charge the client extra fees to increase my dog's chance of survival. Is that what this world is coming to? Seems to me that this clinic is more focused on taking your money rather than providing optimal care for your beloved pet. I am on a pension and had enough trouble coming up with the original $893 much less $1565. I pleaded with them to either adjust the bill or allow me to make payments and was refused. Needless to say, if my dog, a 13 year old 5lb shi-poo, needs to have any further veterinary care, it will not be at the St. Catharines Animal Hospital.

I was looking for a new vet clinic to bring my dog to as I was new to the area of St. Catharines and thought this one looked good based on the reviews. Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience and most definitely will not be returning to St. Catharines Animal Hospital. The vet had a very thick accent and I was unable to understand anything he was saying to me and there was no vet tech in the room to help. He did not provide any feedback after the physical exam and seemed to be afraid of my small dog because he was barking at him (not aggressively). He did not make it clear we were finished, so I sat waiting and unsure in the room for 10 minutes before deciding to leave. He also did not tell me any side effects or things to look out for after the vaccines. I do not recommend St. Catharines Animal Hospital to anyone as it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a vet appointment.

I was forced to pay my bill without being given the detailed bill because they were “too busy” and I was told I would get it emailed later. When I realized I never gave them my email on my intake form I called them, since no one ever called me. I then tried to return medication that I was told was optional and that my dog had already received but was told I wasn’t able to. I realize there might rules regarding this but as a courtesy I should have at least been offered some sort of compensation seeing as how I was not provided my detailed billing (just the visa machine) prior to paying. In hindsight, I should have never left and demanded my detailed bill but the fact that I already waited for almost an hour to have my dog seen, I just complied with their request, trusted them and left. I’m out $100 and I won’t be giving my dog the medication to overmedicate her. Business in bad faith in my opinion.

Dr. Boctor has always been transparent with prices, and procedures/medication/tests he believes are absolutely necessary for the health of my dog, or important but can do without. Brought our dog in Monday with an emergency, staff there was so nice and polite. We left her there two days, called all the time to check in and staff were still polite. They let us even set up times to visit our dog, then it seemed she would have to stay another day and get an ultrasound, so we paid them for it. However during the visit Doctor Boctor came in and said he is confident she could come home and refunded us for that night and ultrasound. After treating our girl like their own and their honest and respect we would never go anywhere else.

I brought my 12 year old chocolate lab there for a hematoma drain. It was pretty serious and I was emotional. I was offered 2 options both very expensive. I decided on the most cost effective because that was all I had. When the procedure was being done, I received a call from the vet stating that it was an emergency and they needed to complete the first option which was double the price at 1600.00 for a hematoma surgery. I didn’t really have a choice at this point because I had already paid 800.00. My dog was required to stay over night in which they do not have a staff available and was charged almost 200.00 which was included in my estimate. The next day I went to pick her up and they didn’t prepare me for what she would look like. The vet showed me the liquid in her ear that he said was infected, which is why it was an “emergency” . The liquid was blood, it wasn’t yellow which would indicate infection. The vet went on to speak to me about procedures he performed that I didn’t agree to but because it didn’t show anything so I wasn’t charged. When they brought my dog to me she couldn’t walk, and her ear looked awful. In my opinion it was very sloppy, she wasn’t cleaned up, she smelt like dying flesh. It was terrible. No one in the office helped me get my 100 pound dog into my car as she was moaning and grunting and sounded like she couldn’t breath. When it came to payment they over charged me for the procedure, i was told it would cost 1600 and was charged 2000.00. My dog needed medication that was to last 10 days. I ran out on day 7 and the ear drops that I purchased were already opened and used. When I ran out of medication I called and explained that I should have 3 more days of medication and they said I would have to pay and I must have given too much. They labeled everything so that was not an error on my part. I asked to speak to the vet because this was unacceptable. After speaking to the vet and explaining that I paid for 10 days of medication they agreed to provide me with the remainder. All that said I will not go back here and I advise anyone reading this should choose another vet. I felt he played on my emotions and knew if he called half way through the procedure after receiving 800.00 that I would likely go for the most expensive option. Update to response: Dr Boctor texted me after I wrote this review and offered pictures of the fluid that supposedly had infection. I said I would like the photos and they still have not been sent. He also stated that he resolved the financial issue, which he did not and is why I am writing this review so that I can save others financial burden and emotional anguish. Also to clarify his statement about calling in the middle of surgery. I said he called half way through the drain which was the first option I selected. He said that it was now an emergency and I should consider the surgery. I had already paid 800.00 at this point and felt I was left with no other choice.

Dr Boctor and his colleagues are very personable, professional and compassionate! I took. My dog there in an emergency 3 years ago and was so impressed with the care that I changed Vets. I had a great clinic, but i liked the hours and the convenience. Their compassion for animals went beyond my expectations. I got follow up calls at home when my dog was sick 2 yrs ago at Xmas! so i moved all 3 of my dogs there and Im a very happy Client. Thank you dr boctor and staff. Great job!

Our cat became very ill very quickly and they were able to fit us in right away. The doctor went over every option in detail and did not pressure us at all, and allowed us to make our own decisions regarding care. Front desk dark haired lady explained all details and took a lot of time going over everything with us, however the incessant singing and humming by the blond lady was distracting and off putting. My pet was severely ill and it seemed like it didn't matter to her at all. When I picked him up I was impressed with the professionalism and concern shown for our boy.

I would not take my fur babies anywhere else. I have been going to Dr. Boctor's since 2011 when he first opened his practice. Firstly because it was close to where I was living, and now because of how great service I receive from him and a his staff are. I have been to a few other Vets in the city in the past but none of them compare to the comfort and welcoming feeling I get at the St Catharines Animal Hospital. All of the staff there are very friendly, personable and great at their job. Our beloved cat got injured and unfortunately we had to have him put down. We made it very clear that we wanted a private cremation. We picked out the urn and paid for it. I called every so often to ask about when his ashes were coming back and kept getting a answer that it would be a few weeks. We waited and waited. Today I called again to check the status and Shannon told me she messed up and had his ashes skattered. We won't even be getting his urn back and we paid for this! And we were very clear this is what we wanted done! Shannon has told me she's refunding the money, but why did she not take better care at something so sensitive? Money is always there, and sorry is just a word when it comes to ashes of a family member that you can't duplicate! I trusted this vet hospital to be professional and take care of this and they knew how sad we all were and this made everything worse! That was what got us through is knowing he was coming back home, and they messed this up and all they can say is we are sorry. That doesn't bring the ashes back! Also; the pandemic is not a excuse for being careless with something so sensitive.

My vet was unable to care for my old man and the illness he had. So I came here. They were the only vet who could accomidate my buddy & open on a Sunday, so he went there for treatment. They care. Like actually care. They gave him better care then i could have ever hoped for. Staff were amazing. Vets are patient, and understanding. Everything was cleared with me first. Just...so happy. And my old man is better and at home! Buster and I thank you for treating him like your own. We are switching and making this our normal vet clinic now.

A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing! Many people have no idea what veterinarians encounter on a daily basis. Stress and even fear of some pets occur often. They are scratched and bitten, etcetera, by those same loveable, but terrified patients you bring to them. Do they overcharge? These professional, well educated and compassionate people are worth every dollar you send their way. To those who are critical of office staff I say, would you work in such stressful and emotional conditions that those same patients provide? Do you ever make mistakes? Is an occasional giggle or chuckle wrong when needed? Finally, who can justify naming an individual employee publicly in order to satisfy their mindset? The owner and staff have tons of five stars. My dog began having an allergic reaction to something last night. Benedryl wasn’t taking it down. My regular vet is closed due to illness. St Catharines Animal Hospital and Dr Boctor took us on without issue today. He saw my dog immediately and without extra fees or any gouging. He provided her with two injections to help take down the swelling and hives immediately, as well as provided prescriptions to help settle down whatever is causing this.
