REVIEWS OF Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic IN Niagara Falls

Dr. Mo, Lauren, and Kelsey treated both me and my dog with respect and compassion during our 4:00am emergency. They handled my fear-aggressive, scared dog who was in great pain, with professionalism, while talking to him and trying to keep him calm (they were also very kind and understanding to me as well). I would not hesitate to use this clinic again.

NEVER TRY THIS PLACE IF U WANT UR PETS ALIVE

I wish I could remember the name of the most LOVELY individual I just spoke with over the phone. 1 AM, 10 week old puppy. She listened as this scared mama told her what was happening, she reassured me, calmed me down and walked me through all the steps I’d need to know. Thank you for being kindness and patience!!

I recently had to bring my dog in for what turned out to be not so much of an emergency (and the Oscar goes to...). I had a great experience at NVEC, and having worked as a tech in the past I can be extra critical. They were very friendly, treated me as if we were all friends, and my dog was very comfortable with everyone. Although I was waiting in the exam room for a bit I know that if it had been more of an emergency I would not have waited so long. They did not force me to get extras done and were very thorough. I understand many people don't like the price but my animals are worth more than the $170 it costs to be seen and I feel it's worth the cost.

My daughter recently just went with her cat after waiting 3 hours while the cat was pouring blood everywhere no one even took the time to even look at the cat than told her after 3 hours it would be $900 so you people working at this place don’t care about an animals welfare you are definitely in the business for the money only!! how would you know it was going to be $900 without looking at the cat and you couldn’t of told her before you made her wait with a bleeding cat in her lap for 3 hours shame on you greedy money hungry people who claim to care

This weekend I came in to the NVEC for the first time grappling with the hardest day of my life. The staff from the first phone call to the time I left were exceptional. My poor sweet old boy had a sudden and aggressive deterioration that the doctor and I determined together was an indication of the end. The staff took care of my boy like he was their own, and were so incredibly conscientious and empathetic to my feelings. Aside from not having to let my old guy go, I couldn’t possibly have asked for a better experience in the toughest time. I never felt pressured or rushed to make a decision one way or another on any matter. Dr. Ward and her team on Sunday made all the difference for me and my Wall-E. I will be forever grateful for their care and compassion and giving him and I whatever support and dignity they could all the way up until we said our last goodbye. I can’t imagine that the negative reviews I’m seeing are anything other than people who didn’t get the outcome they were hoping for and are either speaking from heartbreak or fear of what’s next for their beloved pet. My heart goes out to them. Letting my best friend go was not what I wanted to be faced with either, but the team at NVEC was exactly who I needed to help me through it when the time comes. I hope no one reading has to face taking their animal to an emergency clinic in distress, but if they do I recommend this clinic and trust you’ll feel the same.

I’m thankful for the service but it’s unbelievable we are STILL not able to go in with our animals during an emergency but bars and clubs are full capacity

I can't say I was overly impressed. I brought my 18 month old dog in and the woman who opened the door seemed annoyed to even have to do that and she wasn't even warm, considering I had driven an hour to get there and I was paying them! The technician then came in and although she was sweet on the phone, she was so impatient with my dog and getting so frustrated that she couldn't take his heart beat- he's a dog, he's a Weimaraner. He gets nervous and anxious plus he's an extremely intelligent dog and doesn't fall for tricks so easily especially when it comes to vets, and he's uber sensitive to people's inner feelings and his own.. and he can smell everything in that office including dear, other dogs, death and chemicals. I get that she may have been tired but if you can't get a dog to calm down then wrong profession or at least don't get frustrated with him nor me-plus he's not there to do tricks! Do they not teach you how to do anything elsw with an anxious or stressed dog who doesn't want to sit? Not every dog is lassie! The doctor came in for a brief second then took him in the back and left him with the technicians who were telling him very firmly to sit repeatedly and then they were shouting at him to sit over and over. The same frustrated technician had the same frustration in her voice when I voiced up and said 'I don't appreciate you talking to my dog that way' - They had left the door open in the hallway and heard her shouting at him and and then I heard a yelp. as if they had tried to force him down. I heard them and honestly they were not being very nice to my dog at all. One of them noticed me and seemed to change her voice tone when it happened and said "the owners in the hallway" and one then came to close the door. When I heard my dog barking and to which their voices changed and then I replied 'yes I am because I don't think I like what is actually going on with my dog." Finally another technician came to push me back in the room and I told her that it was not only upsetting that they, as animal technicians were being so rough and mean with a dog but that I was paying them. If they didn't know how to treat dogs then they shouldn't be in that profession nor should they if they have no patience. She replied she had had all sorts of dogs come in that were fine and some more anxious and they needed to be treated more special and gentle. I thought precisely! Then she said she'd get the doctor who was off visiting another patient when he finally led my dog back and literally talked in circles and explained nothing to me I hadn't already known. I wanted a solution and he was giving me a fraction of a solution and a waiting period to which the result would be More tests would be run. I was thinking so if it's serious then we're going to wait until it gets more serious before anything is done. At this point I'd had enough and just wanted to leave. He was preparing the topical gels and sprays even though I said my dog hates sprays he said he'll be fine with the spray. At some point I just left the room and was waiting at reception trying to determine how much I'd owe. 160 I was told thinking with tax it was without HST. Then 3 medications amounting to $50 each so I was looking at $300.00. I told the receptionist that I was just paying for the exam and the medication had to wait. I literally was not going to drain my bank nor wallet for this experience. The girl at the reception by far was a 5 star service and caring enough to understand that I couldn't afford that right at this minute as the event was unexpected. BUT I regret not going with my gut and just avoiding going to the vet at all. I was so unhappy with my experience here that I don't think I will ever go back! I'll take him to a naturopath before I ever take him here again. Wish I could say they were great but everything about this place speaks only business. I give it 2.5 stars but it won't let me halve a star.

A great experience with the entire staff this weekend at the clinic when our Skip Ingested something and needed emergency bowel obstruction surgery. The staff was quick, attentive and super caring when dealing with us, and allowed us to call for regular updates during his hospitalization. Thanks to Dr Price for doing the surgery and the techs and reception for all of the special care and snuggles Skip got during his recovery. Although nobody wants to visit the emergency vet clinic, we where in the best hands possible and happy to be on the road to recovery.

Found huge gash on our cat's hind leg on a holiday weekend. Went to this clinic as it was the only one open. Hardly any cars in parking lot and no one in the waiting room. My daughter and I sat in a patient room with our cat for 4 HOURS. Vet came in to check the cat and then said that he was getting agitated from her checking him (he wasn't) so she wanted to bring him to the back room if she needed to subdue him with the help of other staff. When she returned to explained that this gash could have an infection so she needed to clean it and stitch it up. The estimate to clean out the wound was over $500. That did not include stitches. I agreed to this even though I was shocked. Sedation was part of the treatment so my daughter and I had to wait 2 hours while this procedure was done. I realized that I would be paying more for emergency services but could not believe that they would take advantage of people to this degree. After the cleaning, the vet came back with a second estimate of over $600 to stitch him up. I left at that point, taking the antibiotics and stating that I would continue to clean out the wound until I could go to my regular vet. She reminded me that the gash could become infected again if not cared for properly. DO NOT go to this office if you can help it, wait for your regular vet! They resort to making you wait hours to break down your patience, take your pet to the back room so you can't see them examine your animal, then slap you with exorbitant estimates for care. After taking care of my cat for a few days, the wound healed perfectly with regular cleaning and antibiotic cream.

Most horrible staff by far if you want your pet alive never ever bring them here. They gave my dog wrong medication and trying to cover it up by saying thats what most vets give to dog with seizures. After paying $1500 still got the result that WE DO NOT KNOW WHY YOUR DOG GOT SEIZURES. If you do not know the cause then how are you giving my dog medication for two weeks when you dont even know anything. Never got to talk to the manager after calling everyday for hours and receptionist will tell you there is nothing she can do all the time. My dog became paralyzed from the medication they gave him saying he might be epileptic when he was not. Took him to our regular vet afterwards and he immediately stopped the medication as he was on a toxic level from the medication and still the RECEPTIONIST was telling me i should not have stopped the medication ABRUPTLY. So i should have just let my dog die from it WOW. Never ever bring your pets here does not matter what. I would give zero stars if i could. Oh and good luck calling 10 times a day if u want your call to be picked up just to argue with the receptionist as there is nothing else she can do.

I have to say that the doctor and her teams did great job for my dog and her puppies. They saved my dog's life and had a good take care of her. I'm really appreciate to the doctor and her teams. Thank you so much ????????

Took my dog in for chocolate toxicity last night and all the staff were really great with me and my dog. The doctors that I spoke with were really informative and straight forward, receptionists were so polite and patient and shout out to the technicians and assistants no one sees. All these people were so nice and caring and were really great with updating me all night. I see a lot of comments about prices and waiting times but thats just how emergency works. I ask that clients please understand that these people are risking their families and personal health working through the COVID crisis to provide you and your pets the emergency care they need. Thank you to all the staff who helped me and Misty out! Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated <3

You guys take a outstanding amount of money and after that you say you literally can’t do nothing to help , you guys have no empathy my brother comes in crying wanting to do everything he can to help his animal and AFTER you take the money you suggest to put the animal down .??????! Staff is careless and rude don’t recommend bringing your animals here unless you want them to be suggested to just be put down without even checking, lack of any type of sympathy

Poor communication. Waited two hours in the parking lot to finally be told (after those two hours) that my pet’s emergency would be addressed not then, but in another 4 hours. Thanks for your consideration! I will be taking any future emergencies elsewhere.

Exceptional care & attention to detail. Thank goodness for this facility! We have been a few times for our little girl Maggie & feel blessed to have had the option to bring her here. Reading some of the complaints about fees I feel the need to say, there is no OHIP for dogs people so expect to have a bill for the professional medical care provided! Keep up the wonderful work & heart felt care you provide!

Brought my little Lucy in on Nov 19th with severe tooth/gum issue. Staff was great, very informative. Scott explained things perfectly. Small extra cost for the after hours treatment but our fur babies are well worth it. Thanks again everyone! Doug

Had to take my 18 month old King Shepherd in on a Sunday for have gastrointestinal issues. Staff was super friendly, organized, and animal loving. They made my very uncomfortable boy as happy and comfortable as they could. Great patient education from staff.

We had an emergency with our Yorkie he started vomiting after eating tuna and they wanted him to stay there for 2 days for 2400.00. After sitting for 2 hours in the parking lot, the vet called us with our quote. They didnt tell us what was wrong with him, the vet just said he needed to be there. I wasnt comfortable leaving him with them so I asked them to treat his vomiting and dehydration, and I would take my dog to his vet when they opened. They gave him fluids and medicine for his vomiting and the next morning he was fine. I paid before they treated him, and then they called back and said I needed to pay another 30 dollars before they would give him back to me. My final bill was 500.00. If I left my dog there I would have been out 2000.00 for nothing.

GO TO FALLSVIEW EMERGENCY VET IF YOU WANT YOUR PET TO LIVE. As I am posting this this place has a 2.8 and FALLSVIEW has a 4.8. Big warning is you cannot be in the room with your pet as the vet exanines. They will ask for a thousand just to look at your pet and then tell you to put them down without figuring out what is actually wrong with them. They gave us the wrong medication after that visit and when we called back to have it fixed and ask for something to make our pet more comfortable as they had offered I was not given the correct medication for over 10 hours and after waiting in the office to see the vet for 7 hours I finally was told they would not be helping. If you have an emergency go to Fallsview Emergency Vet for your pets sake!

I had to take my cat here yesterday. My cat got hurt really bad and needed surgery. We dont know what happened . The vet said it would be 2200 to try and fix my cats problems. They took excellent care of my cat Stretch. They were very kind and worked with me on the bill. 1500 down and the rest to be paid when I picked him up the next day. I showed up with all the money to pick up my baby. When I went inside i was told I get a refund..What!! Very happy I was since I had to borrow the funds. All in all it cost me about 1200. We could not be happier about the treatment we all got from this wonderful place. Also the only place that would see him because of the Covid19. I live in Fort Erie so there were 4 vets from here to them that said no because they were not our vet. So Thankful to Niagara Vet. You guys roThank Sad to say.. After 10 days I had to let him go. Love you buddy. Xxx will miss you so much. Thank you to all staff, Doctors who cared for Stretch. Bye. ????????????

Our family feline "Jazz" had to have 4 tendons in her right hind leg sutured back together after an accident with broken glass which totally severed the tendons. Dr Daniel performed the surgery. I'm a so happy to say that after 10 -12 weeks, Jazz was back to playing fetch with her toys (like a canine), jumping and running perfectly normal. Great work Doc!!! Thank you to the entire team at the clinic.

This place is probably the worst Emergency Vet I've ever been to. This emerge gave us the run around for 3 days, prescribed unnecessary medications before finally informing us they weren't equip to perform the surgery our dog needed which we knew he needed from the first day we brought him in. $600 later and finding out they knew our dog needed an anesthesiologist since DAY 1 of us bringing him in and never told us. Our dog passed away 3 days later because by the time we got him to a specialist it was too late. Overall I will never bring my dog or cats here ever again and instead ill drive an hour away to visit the Hamilton Emerge. Worth the peace of mind. Just some advice to this clinic, our dog had a lot of medical problems and if you guys had treated him with respect and compassion we would of been clients of yours for life since we have 3 cats and a new puppy. Instead you guys made a quick 600$ and we will never bring another animal here again.

My dog was very ill and it became apparent that euthanasia would be the kindest option for him. We were very worried that we weren't going to be able to be with him due to social distancing policies but the staff at the clinic were very accommodating and were able to allow us to spend time with him outside for his last moments. The vet was very kind and gave us the time and space we needed. We are extremely grateful and would recommend the Clinic to anyone in similar circumstances.

This was my second visit in approximately one year. Both times were worrisome for me with my mature diabetic cat in shock and this time she was also having seizures. Everyone at this clinic is professional, calming, reassuring and reacting to the gravity of the situation. This clinic is located within a few minutes of my regular veterinarian which is in-part the reason for my selection. Once my cat was stabilized, on both visits to this emergency clinic, I later brought her to my own vet. Everyone is understanding at the Niagara Veterinary Emergency clinic that my vet knows my cat and it's more financially feasible for me to move her. The front end staff contacted my vet clinic as did Dr. Will Rotenberg. He very kindly called my clinic to discuss in detail the best course of action for my Carly cat which made a difference in the next steps and was sincerely appreciated. The follow-up phone calls are always genuine and show caring and concern for my precious cat and I. With every visit I am treated with respect and kindness as is my kitty cat. I highly recommend this clinic and as the situation arises, I will return. Fingers crossed that I will not be experiencing an emergency late at night or in the very early morning hours, any be anytime soon. Healthy happy cats are good for us all! Thank you!

Called ahead to let them know my ETA with an English Bulldog in respiratory distress. She got over excited and began having difficulties. I got to the facility no one was waiting, doors locked, left to hold a 70lb dog in distress. They wanted to keep her for 12 hours their focus was payment upfront, 1000 dollars to start. ( I get it they need their money) meanwhile I said is she calm? They said yes, I said is her her oxygen good? They said yes. I said well I’ll take her home and watch her. I pay the bill and they bring my baby out on a stretcher non responsive tongue blue hanging out of her mouth. I said I can’t take her home like this. I had a choice life support or put her down. She died a few min later. The worst thing I did is stop at this vet on my way to her vet. I stopped because it was closer and I wanted to help her. After all that they move into the what do you want to do with the body, what earn do you want etc. the staff was pleasant the Vet needs to work on his communication skills. I would have never allowed them to give her that medication if the only alternative was life support upon administration. I blame myself, wished I didn’t stop there.

Despite the negative reviews, we found all.of the staff here amazing. We had no choice but to bring our bulldog here after she had a run in with a car ( accidents happen, but this mom still feels guilty). It's also the long weekend and our regular vet is closed. She looked otherwise fine but of course we needed to make sure. Yes they lock the doors when you first come in but being an after hours and emergency vet I can't blame them for taking extra precautions. They made sure to inform us that there was an emerge fee, which we were perfectly okay with. (It was also stated that if we need to come back within 24 hours that fee won't be applied again). Everything was done efficiently, and thoughtfully and they cared about how Molly was doing and even suggested treatment for other ailments not originally stated and to follow up with our own vet. Overall we were really pleased with how everyone handled our situation, after all this is a walk in clinic, they do not know you and your pets, but try to understand the best that they are able to. Thank you NVEC Molly is resting comfortably and snoring away.

Had troubled 1 month old puppy, visited this place at 3am, completely satisfied with the service. Correct diagnosis and treatment (as later confirmed by our regular vet) in timely manner, no extra frills, reasonable prices. Thank you

The doctor lack of enough professional skills and experience to cure my cat. They cost me about $500, and give me nothing useful ideas about why my cat is getting sick and how to do? They just give me something like Nutri-Cal and kind of waters used to relieve the symptoms, not treat them.

Brent Pitchford

Had to take my cat in because of a urinary blockage and they were able to take him in right away. The whole process during COVID is really well thought out. Unfortunately he had to stay a bit longer there because of multiple bladder stones but everyone at the clinic made sure to keep me updated every step of the way and to let me know how he was doing. My cat was there for a week so I feel like I talked to every doctor and staff member at the clinic and you can tell that they all deeply care about the animals. They completed surgery to get the stones out and now my cat is on the road to recovery. I was given all of the medication he needs and instructions and I'm just so happy that everyone here chipped in to save his life. They also made sure to check in to see how my cat was doing. I hope I never have to take any pet to the emergency vet again but I'm so thankful that this clinic exists and for the top-notch care that my cat received. The doctors here care about animals and it shows!

Brought my dog Nuka with left leg pain from playing with our puppy. The staff were wonderful. They were very kind and patient. They gave us lots of information. The staff made us feel comfortable with our decision to bring her to see them.

This was the worse vet appointment I have experienced in my life. I have basically paid $300 dollars for no answers. I woke up around 8am to my 3 year old cat having blood in his urine, so I called my vet and they were worried that because it was Saturday and they were understaffed that it wouldn't get addressed in a timely manner, so they referred me here. I got to the clinic around 9am and because I had the referral, I was put in a room right away. I did not see a vet FOR 3 HOURS! Even after I informed them that he was peeing blood in their sink and that I had patiently been waiting for 2.5 hours already. Finally, after my partner called the front desk to ask why it was taking so long, a very frazzled vet came in, and started talking erratically. He basically gave me some food and some non absorbent litter, told me that they needed a urine sample to do anything, and then ran out of the room. After painstakingly trying to get a urine sample, we finally got a decent fresh one and took it to the vet. At which point they told me it would be $100 -- a point the vet failed to mention the day before. Needless to say, I will drive literally anywhere else to meet my animals emerg needs from now on. Just completely awful.

I am so beyond grateful for the amazing team at this clinic! I noticed first thing Saturday that my cat Phil was not urinating properly, was not eating and was extremely lethargic. My usual vet was closed on the weekend so I called the emergency vet and they had Phil admitted within an hour (only because I had a 25 minute drive). Even though I could not go in with him as a result of Covid, I stayed in the parking lot until they had an initial diagnosis. He had a blockage in his urethra and needed surgery to fix it. They told me that at 9:00 am and he had his surgery by 10am. He had to stay at the clinic for either 2 to 3 days and they called me at least twice a day with updates. Turns out I caught it early enough he only had to stay in for two days and they charged me less than I was quoted initially. Plus, they only had positive things to say about Phil and how wonderful he is. So thank you very much to the amazing staff. You gave me back my fur baby and he is as crazy and playful as ever!

We brought our 4 month old pup in because she was had acute vomiting. The vet nurse and the vet were both very professional and very curtious. Understanding this was an emergency veterinarian hospital I knew the bill was going to be high but our dogs health was our biggest concern. If you have time to see a normal vet, do that and save some money. But in emergency cases like ours I was so happy this establishment existed and they were able to diagnose and treat our puppy. Thank you for assisting us tonight. We hope we don't need to use your service again but we're so glad you're always here to help 24/7/365 in case of emergencies.

I have a litter of nine pups that were just over 3 weeks old. Half of them had some diarrhea and since they're so small, I was worried they had something contagious that could threaten the litter. I called to bring one pup in. $160 to see one pup and if Meds were prescribed that would increase the price. To have the entire litter treated, I would need each pup examined at $80 each plus any medicine they would need. (Even though, if one had something contagious, they all had it and the treatment for each would be exactly the same.) I asked if they were serious? She said yes that is the policy of the clinic. It would have cost me over $1000 to have my litter looked at and treated!!! I called around and remembered I used a clinic in Niagara Falls once before. I took three pups in and was happy to learn that the diarrhea was probably food related (I was given advice on what to change) and to deworm the pups again. ALL FOR $90! So, please check around before accepting outrageous prices. The vet I used in Niagara Falls was absolutely excellent. He was personable, gentle, and very knowledgeable. --Dr Adel. D/

My dog lay dying in another vets office. He needed an emergency blood transfusion to save him. The only place that had blood was this god forsaken place. They refused to sell my vet any blood. My dog died. This place is pathetic and cares nothing about animals whatsoever. The only reason they exist is that they are the only 24 hr facility in the area. Inhumane and disgusting.

I attended this ER vet clinic twice for my male anatolian GSD mix. His name was Bandit. The first time he randomly got sick and the vet took us in immediately, ensuring they followed through with anything they could do. The office was informative, the vet and staff were really kind, accommodating with covid 19 being present, and always asked my approval before they did any xrays, treatments, etc. the vet office gave me samples of a probiotic for Bandit, which Really helped him. Unfortunately within the span of 3 months i was back at the ER vet. I stayed up with Bandit since 3am, noticing he was dizzy and lethargic, entirely different than his happy self. I called the er vet and communicated that i took his temp at home, and it was 104.2 which really scared me and my family. We took him to the er vet straight away since they are a 24hr ER clinic. I spent an hour waiting, sitting under a tree with Bandit, doing what i could to keep him comfy while we waited for his appt. Things took a downward speak very quickly. Two vets were assisting Bandit, Dr. Price and another vet whom i cannot recall but both were amazing. they called to inform me he had developed a large mass, about 10inch size, that was pressing against his spinal column, and he needed treatment ASAP. this news was heartbreaking. I spoke with the vet, asking questions, what we could do, how to approach such a devastating diagnosis, and she informed i could move forward with treatment for cancer, as it was likely to be malignant, or allow Bandit to cross the rainbow bridge. i asked for some time to collectively discuss with the family, as Bandit was such an emotional, sensitive soul that being away from family really upset him. He developed Depression easily. The family and i decided not putting Bandit through that rigorous, hard, treatment for cancer would be the best thing. my family and i reside in st. Catharines and we would have to go to mississauga or Toronto that day, too get him started for treatment. He was only 7, but i could sense and read he really was not feeling well. he hardly lifted his ears, hardly moved, could barely walk bec the pressure on his spine. he was in very rough shape and there was no guarantee the treatment would work. :( When i called the er clinic back with our decision, the receptionist asked if we were helping Bandit to cross the rainbow Bridge today, and through tears she remained so assuring. i got to speak with dr. Price again, she comforted me on the phone, assured me both herself and the other vet believed this decision was the right one too, it was best for Bandit. the staff were amazing, kept in contact with me throughout the entire time Bandit was there, and even offered me to take him home for a bit, until we were ready to say goodbye. My family decided it was best to let him go, without the last visit. I spent alot of time with him sitting under the tree waiting for the clinic staff. I talked with him and told him how much i loved him before letting the vet staff take him into the clinic overall it was such a heartbreaking day, but the staff involved made it easier to cope with and understand what was going on. I also received a condolences card from the ER vet clinic in the mail, regarding the loss of Bandit I appreciate the clinic and all it does. The staff has a passion for helping, they care about each animal that comes through the door and are always willing to provide details, suggestions, and explain even the hard news in a kind manner. Thank you ER clinic and staff. You helped my family and i with such a tough decision, you did not leave out details of the diagnosis, you were honest, straight forward, sympathetic, kind, caring. , and most importantly you helped Bandit.

Brought our cat Marcus in after hours on Good Friday and the staff was great! Unfortunately we had to put our cat down but they gave us all the options and no run around. The Dr could have easily gauged our pocket books (long weekend, after hours, euthanized ) but they only charged $80 (quoted $169)for the exam and in total under $400 for everything. I was pleasantly surprised at how caring and compassionate the team was. Thank you everyone as it was a sad day for our family.

Kind loving people. God bless

We had wonderful, attentive care for our dog.

Long waits if it is not an emergency. Very friendly staff and doctors. Your pet is well looked after here.

Called today to see if your clinic had the meds my cat is on, My husband forgot to pick meds up at our current vet. The girl who answered the phone is rude. I said hi, how are you. No reply.I said it again. She replied fine.....I just said I am fine thanks for asking Put me on "hold" by simply putting reciever down. I listened to some animal in pain for abiit 4 min. Then she put phone on the real hold and this bloody music came screaming into my head. At the end of the call I said thank u.brat simply hung up. She SHOULD NOT BE a frontline servicer.

I had to bring my cat to the emergency vet after he had his leg removed (due to cancer) because there were issues and my regular vet was closed. I was in FULL panic mode and they were awesome! They called me a few times a day (even at night!!) to give me updates and to let me know what was needed to help him. They let me also visit which I think they don't normally do but as I said I was sick with worry. I didn't want my cat thinking I abandoned him. He went in there looking horrible and came out a new cat! I know they did everything they could for him and I will be forever grateful for all they did and how compassionate they were. I will never hesitate to go there again. Update: Dr. Adel was the vet on staff. This was many years ago. I only made the review recently.

I have been here multiple times. If you are paying them they seem nice enough. We needed one can of food over the covid-19 quarantine for a dog that suffers from liver disease. Just one can, but according to them protocol this can't be changed for this, and they can only sell to inhouse patients. Actually just the worst people as far as any sense of empathy goes. Will take my business elsewhere every time I can.

This clinic saved our kitty after being hit by a car. All of the staff were fast and professional in getting our kitty out of temporary pain and sent us home with post op home care instructions. The clinic receptionist and doctors were all extremely friendly and explained any post care questions we had. highly recommend this clinic!

This is truly a great clinic. Our cat Riff had been sick for a while, and in addition to routine visits at our regular vet, we had to bring him here a few times. Both of the vets were very knowledgeable and helpful. We unfortunately had to make the tough decision to put our boy Riff to sleep a few mornings ago at their clinic because he was suffering so much, and we were able to say goodbye to him in a designated area outside so we could be with him while he passed. The vet and staff were so so kind and compassionate, and although we hope that we never have to take one of our pets to emerg again, we would not hesitate to come back here. Thank you for all the help and support. <3

My Fred was hit by a car last Thursday ... and upon arrival they helped him right away. They were so kind... and gave me all the details upfront. .. Fred succumbed to his injuries.. we had to let him go. The whole staff was so supportive and sweet .. it was an awful personal loss .. but I’m grateful for those that tried to save him.

Took my almost 6 yrs old German Shepherd/ Belgian Malinois to the vet emerg Oct 18/20. Staff was awesome. There was a shift change and both doctors I spoke with were thorough in assessment and treatment. A very special thank you to Lauren who went the extra mile making sure my dog was comfortable and stayed a little longer to be with her!! You all really care about the animals that come in and thank you for the work you do and the support you give!!

This vet clinic was amazing. I called and they were able to take me in right away. Every single staff member I dealt with was amazing and the vet treated my dog like she was her own. Yes, the prices are a little high but that's because of the convenience of the "walk in" aspect, and that they are literally open 24/7. I really liked that I got to pay first, and then have the service, as I had to put my dog down and the last thing I'd want to do was go to the counter to pay after what I had just went through. Would definitely recommend!

Father's Day was without a doubt the most emotional day of my life, but from the moment I called the clinic and heard a sympathetic voice on the other end of the line who set things up for my dogs arrival it made things easier. They consulted with my dog and called me and walked me through the issues we had to deal with, we both started crying on the phone and then a short minute later the vet walked me through the issues and I had to make the hardest decision of my life. I met them out in the back of the facility as they wheeled a stoned on fentanyl dog out to me and we sat on the grass for 1.5 hrs as I cried and hugged her and pet her and talked to her. As the sun began to set I said they could administer the meds to put her to sleep and before the cocktail was even mixed, my little bulldog was already asleep in my arms as I watched her chest rise and fall and not rise again. I stayed with her for a while longer and the staff offered condolences. Every member I met that day who's names are all a blur were phenomenal. The fees were reasonable, the system they have in place was very organized and they made my last hours with Sophie the best they could be. She had a tumour in her spleen that ruptured and had internal bleeding that morning into the afternoon while I was away. I'm glad she got some meds to manage the pain and am glad I was able to say goodbye to my little girl as much as it hurt and has hurt each subsequent day, it was the right call to make, so thank you for making the worst day of my life a little easier .

By far the MOST ignorant receptionist who laughed at me and proceeded to ignore my asking of her name, her bosses name or a contact for her head office. We just had a passing of a rabbit we had for 11 years (have never had an animal pass away) so I didnt knkw the process or the costs. The gentleman I spoke with the first time was genuine and nice until I called back and asked how long ashes take to come back and the lady laughed, muted me several times and hung up after telling me she had another client to deal with. I am so unbelievably Disgusted by that ladies professionalism and compassion. I've heard nothing but bad reviews of this place but it was my only option and definitely regret it! The also wanted 300$ for the cremation and urn of my RABBIT taking 2-3 weeks to receive such ????

I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone that needs help for their pet. My dog was very sick and I was so worried about her. The vets and staff took excellent care of my frightened little dog. They also contact me regularly and kept me up to date about her care, even though she ended up staying two nights. I felt safe leaving her there knowing the staff were caring and professional. I really appreciated all that they did for my dog.

Steve Lux

Brutal pricing. It's worth the drive to Burlington. Not recommended. Vet not compassionate at all. Like other posts it's a money motivated clinic.

My beloved Chocolate Lab Brownie is turning 15 and has been acting very strange and ill lately. Everywhere has there doors closed to new Patients due to Covid and it was difficult for me to find a place willing to take my dog. I called this place and I talked to Regan. She said she could get me in Rite away , her confidence when talking about her Clinic made me feel more at ease . Great Job

Waste of money to go here, pure money grab charging 500-600 dollars to run a test for a machine that is just sitting in the back and no one was even there as it was 3 am. (ultrasound) i could see 100 dollars but they overcharge because they know people love their pets. i dont know how they can live with themselves

We adopted a 14 year old Persian cat named Ruby. She has a few issues in her old age. We just moved to St. Catharines right before the pandemic hit and she's needed care a couple of times. Once was an incident where she couldn't stop vomiting. We're still not sure what caused it, but since treatment, she's been fine. The most recent time we tried to groom her mats out because the groomers are all closed, and her skin is just so thin that we nicked it with the clippers. We wanted to make sure the wound didn't get infected. The vet cleaned it out and glued it shut. They were so quick and good with her (she meows non stop whenever she's away from home, and although sweet as a button, she'll let you know how she's feeling). The assistants helped us get in touch with a vet that can take Ruby for professional grooming and teeth cleaning. They were just so good about everything. She's completely healed now. Not even a tiny wound left. Yes, it's expensive, but it's emergency care and we knew the costs would be much higher than a regular vet. Thank you for taking good care of her. She's struggling a bit in her old age and when she got home she immediately went to playing! We had to slow her down. She felt good as new thanks to your care.

Kryselle Alafriz

I'm extremely grateful for such a wonderful place like this. After sitting at another emergency vet for 4 hours waiting to be seen, we decided to make a brave decision and pull her out of there and rush an hour away to niagara (as she was bleeding clots of blood). They facilitated this matter so quickly and effectively i was shocked she was diagnosed and treated in 2 hrs. The staff is so friendly and explained everything so you can go home with ease with your dog (unlike the other vet who wanted us to leave her overnight for $2500 no test done until the morning). I highly recommend this place to everyone, especially the ones still sitting in that same parking lot we left. Thank you again and again to everyone working tonight and helped Blue. We love you guys!!!! Keep up the great work!

Shadib Newaz

They care more about the money. Go to Fallsview emergency vet instead.

Last thing i needed was judgement and attitude from reception. Just went else where and wouldn't call them again.

We were visiting from out of town. Our 3 month old pup got into something and was acting really weird. They took us in immediately and were so kind to us as we were really scared. Lauren was amazing and calmed us down. I would recommend this place to anyone

This hospital is a NIGHTMARE to so many pet parents and owners ‼️ Their progress is: tell you pet is in DANGER, you gonna pay thousands of dollar for surgery or they are euthanasia your pet without any announcement???? and never let you have other option! Some of my friends have experience the EXACTLY same progress, but some of them choice to pay thousands of dollars; some decided not to and transfer to other vet, they will threaten the owners that they will called the SPCA or the police because you didn’t care about your pet‼️ they never let you have chance to have your pets❗️❗️❗️ My friends and many pet parents and owners are faced the same situation❗️❗️❗️

Krystal S

I wish I could give 0 start to this place, I have no idea how this place could still exist. My dog got bit by other dog last night and we brought him here. They charge us over $700 at first and then told us we need pay $3300-6600 to do a surgery, to cut my baby open and see if there is any injury inside of him, and it could be cost for over $10,000!!! We can’t check our dog how bad he is. They only talk to us through the phone and we can only see them when we pay. The most ridiculous thing was they told us the situation was seriously bad and waiting us to decide if we are paying for that $3300-6600 or not. At the end we decided to go home and go to another hospital in the morning. We are glad our decisions last night. My dog is totally fine right now, and he’s already starting recovery. I can’t imagine if we decided to do the injury last night, what will happen to him? How much more this place gonna charge from us?!

I had to take my little kitty here in September of 2019 after noticing that she was unable to walk properly; it was a long weekend so our regular vet was closed. The staff was very kind and helpful when I called to set up the appointment. They triaged us immediately upon arrival; we had to wait a reasonable amount of time to see the doctor. Dr. Price was extremely kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and performed the most thorough exam. We received a diagnosis, some medication, and thankfully a good prognosis for recovery. The condition improved in about two days; I was very satisfied with the visit.

If you want your pet to live, don't bring them here! I brought my cat in with urinary problems. In attempting to insert a catheter they actually pierced his urethra, causing more issues and now permanent scarring. They told me they could not successfully insert a catheter and that they suspected it was because he was blocked, suggesting it could be something cancerous and recommended I put him to sleep. I was charged over $1000 for this failed procedure. I did bring him elsewhere (Oakville) where they recognized he was not blocked, but simply had a hole in his urethra! They successfully put in a catheter and I had to pay to keep him in hospital for over a week while they waited for his urethra to heal. Not once, however, did they mention putting him to sleep.

1star for you is actually a compliment when really it’s more than you deserve. I took my cat in who clearly had a respiratory infection and yet this guy wanted to run a bunch of un-necasarry tests instead of giving my sick cat atnibiotics or a prescription. I took him home instead of there crazy tests, I took him to his vet the next day and the vet said how did the emergency vet mis this. There was no tests needed no x rays no blood notta. Honestly unless your animal has visable bleading wait for your regular vet. I am glad I listen to my gut and took him to the vet. MORONS

A really great experience for us and our pup. The staff are all pleasant and compassionate. It is a very comforting place as well as a very welcoming waiting room with coffee and snacks. I’ve noticed comments here mentioning price. When it’s your dog’s life on the line, money shouldn’t be an issue. We’ve seen three vets during our journey this weekend and each of them have given us options with their best intentions for our pup getting better. I’m very thankful for this place.

Randy D

Very cold and uncaring staff. Have to wait over 3 hours without anyone even checking in to see how your pet is doing. You can tell places like this are just in it for the money and really don't care about the animals. Unless it is a real emergency, you are better off waiting to see your regular vet.

Miss Royalty

My little dog at the time was 9 and had a stroke I love the compassion they have for animals they really treat them with luv and care These people #TrulyCareAboutOurPets

Claudia Leo

Thank you so much and kudos to Dr. Lee and staff at the clinic who were the most comforting and professional..throughout this difficult time.. A couple of weeks ago we had to bring in our dog Dynamite..he was experiencing laboured breathing...unfortunately in this epidemic time we could not go in with our precious Dyno... but he and we were given the up most special care.. from the staff member who had disinfected the vestibule so that we were safe to drop him off..to when she came to pick up our precious old pup wrapping him up in a blanket like he was her own making him feel secure and comfortable as she brought him into the clinic..Thank you so much to Dr. Lee and the staff for their quick response and constant phone contact with us as we waited in the parking lot..giving him the best care...unfortunately our sweet Dynamite did not make it but we know and feel and were reassured he was not alone... we can’t thank Dr. Lee and the wonderful staff that was there that night for taking care of our little buddy in his final moments..Thank you so much for your compassion, professionalism and support in one of our most difficult nights especially in these unprecedented times..also thank you so much for the sympathy card we received from the clinic..your thoughtfulness was very much appreciated!! Sincerely, Dynamite’s Family

This place exists for one reason: it's opened 24 hours. The vet said she would call to let me know how my dog is doing during the weekend she stayed there. No call. I had to make the call to see if she's alright. They also prescribed medication that was never explained to me. After transferring my pet to a clinic in the GTA, the vet at the other clinic sighed at what they prescribed her. This clinic will refer you to Mississauga Oakville Animal Hospital. Avoid this one too. Money money money is all they care about. Never again will I go back there. Shame on you for being in the Niagara region.

Anytime we've come here, the staff have been very kind and welcoming and taken care of our cats promptly. Yes, the cost is expensive but I want the best care for my animals and the people who work here are amazing at their job!!

Vicki Bentley

The staff are beyond kind. We lost our beloved Nala Friday early morning. They helped talk me through the final moments with my beloved dog. There kind words and support were everything we needed at that time. The compassion and support they provided us was so greatly appreciated. Price is fair and after life accommodations are beautiful. Thank you for helping us.

Hendrik Van Harn

We were treated with kindness and compassion during the loss of our sweet kitty, and while I hope to never have to return for obvious reasons, the staff here were informative, professional, and deeply empathetic, and I recommend this clinic should your furry friend ever need emergency care.

James Young

We had the unfortunate experience of having to put our dog down last night. The staff was very compassionate and made this process easy and comfortable.

Sergio Gutierrez

The given care to your pet is not as good as their price list. Was asked to deposit money first for the whole day. Even after that almost killed my dog. Do not bring your pets here. Horrible attitude and never pick their phone. Look around for better options. Worst experience so far. And they won't always discuss the details of your pet or listen to any complaints. Never coming back here.

Anne Bergevin

The emergency clinic sent my cat home with an open wound. Our main vet saw him the next day (emergency clinic said to follow up in 5 days) and the family vet operated immediately (stitches)- flesh dying and said surgery should have occurred the night before. Emergency vet $1000, main vet surgery the next day 680.00

The entire staff was lovely and compassionate and treated our dog professionally and very quickly- and the cost was very reasonable for an after hours clinic. Thanks

We recently had to put our beloved 15 yr old dog Grady to sleep and the staff were extremely compassionate and respectful. They treated our dog and our family with a tremendous amount of care. Thank you.

L Carroll

I visited the clinic on the weekend when my girl was having an issue. I have to say Dr. Price and all the staff I saw were incredible! They were all very nice, thorough and genuinely care about animals. It was a little more expensive as was expected because they are staffing 24 hours and on weekends. They even had me back for a follow-up visit the next day at no additional charge. Two thumbs up!

Jennifer Macdonald

My five year old dog started bleeding excessively during her period 6 weeks ago. I took her to this emergency vet that night as my regular vet was out of town, they did an ultrasound, a pelvic exam, blood work and a swab. They told me that all they could rule out was prometra as a cause. They recommend for her to he monitored and contact my regular vet the following day. Her bleeding slowed down to nothing so I continued to watch her. Yesterday I saw a smear of blood and brought her to my vet today. They did a swab and blood work and said she does indeed have prometra and would need surgery next week. They said there was no way the other vet would not have caught this and she could have died. I spent over 400 dollars to be told nothing but lies and their actions could have cost me my baby. This place needs to be shutdown!

Wesley Soloduik

THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS They give out half the information you need, was told 160 over the phone to be seen to be told my cat was fine, after being up charged to 220 for samples some already administered i got home to find my cat in much worse condition had a bad vibe from the vat when I got there. If at all possible go elsewhere they do not care about your pets

Kathy Cunningham

We had to have our beloved 13 yr old Maltipoo euthanized over Victoria Day weekend due to advanced congestive heart failure. The staff were exceptional - from the kind receptionist (male - sorry I have forgotten his name) who took my initial phone call, explained everything to me and met us at the front door of the clinic; the vet tech and Dr. Lawton - all were very professional and went above & beyond the call of duty. My husband and I were able to be with Oliver outside under a tent in a lovely treed area. While it was certainly a very sad time, we were comforted by the fact that everyone was so kind and caring. Would highly recommend this emergency vet clinic.

Lindsay Brennan

I showed up in a panic today with my cat and no prior appointment. I had already been to see my Vet because my cat was breathing heavy and she had given my cat medication and I have a follow up appointment scheduled a week from now. My Vet had told me to keep an eye on my cat and to be on the look out for panting which means a cat is struggling to breathe. My cat had started panting and I freaked out and took him right to the clinic which is much closer to where I live. They took my cat and I into a room right away and they had him in the back for observation just as quickly. The Port Colborne Animal Hospital (excellent animal hospital by the way) is associated with the clinic so they were able to get the information from my earlier visit very quickly and only charged me for a follow up visit. They took great care of my cat while I was there and presented me with treatment options and the cost so I could make an informed decision. I thought all the staff were friendly and understanding of how frightening and stressful the situation was for me. I was greatful for their help and pleased with my experience.

We brought our 15 year old pup in on Christmas Day after having a seizure. He had another when entering the clinic. They took him immediately and began treating him. When they called us in, they treated us with the utmost respect and campanion. The vet gave us his professional opinion and didn't drag anything out. We were given as much time as we needed to say goodbye and left feeling like nothing could have been done any better.

I took my senior cat to the Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic at the suggestion of my primary vet. My experience with the staff there was absolutely amazing as they cared so much for my girl and quickly diagnosed her condition and were able to get her into surgery at my primary vet yesterday when I wasn’t able to afford the bill with them. They were caring and understanding and completely loved my Mumbles so much. Thanks to you and the Dunnville team, my Mumbles is making a good recovery!

Connie Taylor

We received immediate care for our dog when we were referred by our veterinary clinic. All of the staff were outstanding and compassionate and down to earth. We hope never to have to use them again under the circumstancing, however if we have to go down a surgical path again with our dog, we will come here first.

We brought in our 4.5-pound dog Brooklynne into the hospital because of vomiting and diahrea. Brooklynne was quickly triaged and we then waited in one of several private, exam rooms. The vet was incredibly thorough. He examined her from one end to the other, asked about a hundred questions, and spent time observing her. When it became evident Brooklynne needed surgery, again the vet was thorough in explaining the process, the risks, and the financial cost. After surgery we were regularly updated by the on-duty vet. Initially we didn't notice our surroundings but, when we decided to sit in the waiting room for a change, I was shocked. Beautiful, comfortable sofas, a huge selection of individual coffees and teas, water, fresh fruit, snacks, a t.v., lots to read, and a very nice children's play area. It was so homey and comfortable and clean. This animal hospital is an excellent example of what human hospitals should be like. Thank you to everyone! While at the hospital, just remember: if another patient is in more distress or becomes worse than your family member/pet, that patient would receive the required attention first. It amazes me how some people are oblivious to that. We would not hesitate to use this emergency service again.

Amy Bryant

We took our dog in for a bleeding cyst, dr. Lee wanted to charge us 600$ and not even physically touch our dog. Very disappointed in the service. They ended up charging 300 $ and still didnt touch him. Very disappointed. Never go back.

They over charge and never did help our sick and dying dog. Bad customer service and no cares at all. Worst animal hospital EVER!

The first weekend of December I had an emergency with my elderly dog who was not doing well, we were there 2x a day that weekend and the staff was extremely compassionate and understanding with us. They treated my best friend with respect and were very gentle with him and honest and straightforward with me which was incredibly appreciated. They gave me honest advice and answered all of my questions (there were many). Dr Shepherd was the first doctor he saw the first night we were in, she was honest about his prognosis but also was very kind and went with it when I requested more tests and information. Edith (one of the people who answers the phone) was also so kind to me when I broke down in tears on the phone with her multiple times and did not treat us like we were a hassle. There were many other lovely vet techs who came and got my sweetie on a gurney and we're awesome with him but I don't remember other names! Thank you so much to the staff who were working that weekend. Andee went home to our other family already waiting for him in heaven Monday evening on December 6th (after some frustrating drama with our regular vet) and I've wanted to call and say thank you to the people at the emergency vet clinic but things have been hard and busy around here. Thank you for not making a hard situation more difficult on us!! **And just a heads up to everyone else, the prices are super high but they are very straightforward on the phone before doing any procedures so you are not shocked with the costs. They made sure I knew the price of everything before going through with things which helped me prepare myself for the bill.

Bethany Taylor

Incompetent, rude, and overpriced. had us on hold for five minutes while we thought and told them my dog was having a stroke, told us our dog had vertigo without doing any blood work or asking to do blood work, didn't ask any questions, when we asked to speak to the vet they kept sending out the receptionist. took him to his regular vet the same day where they asked questions and did a proper exam with blood work for them to say he had a seizure. overall not a good experience and would never go there again

T JB

If I could give less than this I would. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM ALIVE AGAIN!!!!!! I have so much regret for not waiting for my vet to be open and taking my cat here. I went there as an emergency as I thought my cat had something in his throat like a hairball stuck. By the time I got there my cat was fine, breathing normal and I figured I had been dramatic. The doctor said my cat was dying and needed to keep him over night, charging me outrageous prices for blood work, tests, meds, and X-ray. His blood work came back perfect, X-ray was fine. He guilted me by saying if I took him home tonight and something happened that I couldn't come back, so I left my bestfriend there and called every hour throughout the night. When I arrived in the morning they told me he was doing amazing, purring, eating, sleeping, being playful. I was happy. As soon as they gave him to me he was in full panic, I took him home and I watched my cat die. They are liars. It's all about money. They do not let you watch what they are doing. I so badly regret leaving. I should have waited and taken him somewhere else!! Whatever they gave him/did to him killed him. He was fine when I left that night. Had I not taken him here he would be alive today and I feel like a horrible person for even considering this place after reading the reviews. PLEASE DONT GO HERE!! ITS ABOUT THEM NOT YOUR BELOVED FAMILY MEMBER!!!

Sadly, our beautiful dog, Max, passed away at home this morning. As it is Sunday we had to call Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic. They were compassionate and caring from beginning to end. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kendra. She handled our beautiful fur baby and my husband and I with respect and dignity. It was a very busy place today and she was running. Regardless, she took so much time. Thank you Kendra for making a terribly sad situation a little easier.

In August, 2019, my Hurricane Katrina rescue dog, Marshall, got ill. I knew that his time had come. Having had a previous excellent emergency experience with him here, I decided to bring him back for his last vet trip. The staff were beyond excellent and let me lay with him the entire time. I would highly recommend for emergency and euthanasia services.

Id like to thank the Niagara Veterinary Emergency clinic. Great staff. As I waited in the parking lot I watch the staff come out and help all these people with their pets. They came out a looked at my dog in the parking due to the volume and covid. As people left I could see the smiles on there faces from the great care. Thank you

After explaining details over the phone of what was wrong with our new puppy, the young lady was 99% confident she knew what the problem was and advised us perfectly late Monday night. Thank you. Puppy has recovered perfectly.

I had to bring my 14 year old cat Phoenix to the clinic late Monday night. His legs stopped working all of sudden. Phoenix was the love of my life. All of the staff were so compassionate and understanding with me. They treated Phoenix and I with respect and hearts full of care. The vet explained things to me over and over until I could take it all in and understand. She did all she could. When it was time for me to say goodbye to my best friend, the staff and the vet were so good to me and were so gentle with my baby. Thanks you for being so kind to us on the worst night of our lives.

No matter what the situation at hand, the workers at this facility treat you with the uptmost courtesy and respect. Never second guess taking your pet here during an emergency, or even just calling for help via telly. Wonderful staff& doctor/vet(s). Saved my Chihuahuas life a few years back after an abusive ex had left him with abrasions of some sort and was foaming from the mouth. I arrived around midnight and was quite shaken up, but they helped out in all the most caring ways, and never judged. Ten stars if poss.

I came here after I noticed that my cat was having problems uriniating and was in a lot of discomfort. My cat was admitted right away for a urinirary blockage. The vet took his time explaining the procedure and everything that goes with it to me. They also followed up with me multiple times to let me know how my cat was doing over the course of his nearly 2 day stay at the clinic. While the price of a visit is very costly, I am very happy with how I was treated and how my cat was treated as well.

RUN!!!!!!!!!!! Front desk attendant is rude and has no bedside manner. Vet will not provide details and information that you need. Very vague and poor examination. I left with more questions than answers. I understand the high cost due to the emergency aspect of things, however it really feels like money is the prime focus here. If you can hold on until your local vet is available please do so, if not FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

I wish that I could give this place 0 stars. I brought my cat in, extremely scared for his life, and the doctor decided that it was time to put him down. I obviously left, as she had no idea of his history, and no motivation to find his history. The way she spoke to me was disguisting, speaking to me like I knew nothing, and acting like she was giving me the right options. I brought my cat to my actual vet this morning, and he informed me that I did the right thing not putting him down, as she knew nothing about my cat and did not believe what I was telling her. My cat is currently at home, getting better and this doctor wanted me to kill him. This place is terrible and does care AT ALL about your feelings or your pets health. DO NOT GO HERE, seriously use the Niagara Falls emergency clinic, they are professional and actually care.

My dog was hit and run by a stoned driver. Someone poured cornstarch on her wound thinking it would help. Someone else called LCHS. Before I review the clinic, a few things. If you are under the influence, don't get behind the wheel. If you smell weed coming from a vehicle, get the plate and call police. If you find an injured animal, do not move her except to get her out of harms way. You can try to stop the bleeding but don't pour foreign substances into an open wound. It hurts. Look for a tag and call the owner before calling LCHS. The humane society will take too long to get there and waste valuable time because they know absolutely nothing about the animals history. Our vet sent us to emergency because they had a ton of emergent cases. Vet emergency did too. A lot of dogs were hit by cars this weekend. The price was twice three times as high for some things and standard for others. They don't have financing but they should. Yes we were financially stable before the pandemic but that has changed now for a lot of people. Or someone might not get paid for a couple days but their pet needs care now. They will give you the number of a financing company though. . Mitchell was very kind and helped us a lot. He's literally an angel. Anyone is lucky to know him. The woman who came out with him didn't introduce herself but she was the kind of strong person who makes you feel safe because she has it all under control and I was thankful for that. Ella saw Dr Price who had to explain things to me a lot because I was still in shock and crying. We figured it out eventually. She seemed genuinely happy to give me the news that there had been no organ failure or anything and Ella will probably be fine. She's resting at home now and doing very well but it's going to be a long road to recovery for her and something like this didn't have to happen to a perfectly healthy puppy. She's suffering for no reason. Because someone couldn't just stay home and wait 3 hours to drive. Thank you Dr Price and your team for saving Ella. I cried tears of joy when I could hold her again.

Let's just say I hope you never have a repeat of my experience. Never again.

My mother brought her dog here while it was in labour because she was worried there were complications and called ahead for an emergency c section. When she go there the vet did an xray and said there were 12-14 puppies (which cost $300) then an ultrasound which determined she was wrong, there was only 10. She then decided it was better to wait and see and left the room only poking her head in from time to time and even when there was a puppy stuck in the birth canal screaming the vet continued to say she couldn't perform the c section (which was asked for 4 times) because she would need 30 min to prep the room. My mother was there for over 8 hours and ended up having to physically pull some of the puppies out herself by reaching into the dog as the vet was nowhere to be found. The excuse made by the vet is that they're "understaffed" and therefore can't be expected to stay with the animals or have time to prep rooms when they're asked repeatedly to. Clearly that vet couldn't care less about animals if she can hear a puppy screaming from the birth canal and just walk away and not even attempt to help it.

My Rottweiler suffered major trauma to her upper mandible, resulting in the lose of 3 teeth and separation of her gums from the roof of her mouth. There was major loss of blood all over the dog and myself Call the emergency vets, and they got me in right away. The first staff member Abby was phenomenal. I wanted the owner and others to know, how passionate she is about animals. She had my dog cleaned up and vital signs monitored in immediately. Next the night veterinarian Cara assessed the injuries in a clear straightforward manor. My dog had to stay overnight. I called Cara from home a few hours later before and was provided an update. The following afternoon when back and visited my dog with day veterinarian Scott. He was awesome, energetic and had formed a friendship with my dog. To sum everything up, it was a 5 star experience by staff. Exceeding mine and my families expectations on every level. The night of the emergency everything happened so fast, that I had to head to the closest vet clinic without any research. When I got home I read the available google reviews that night. Yes it was pricey compared to regular vet fees, but given the overhead of operating 24/7 as an emergency center, I don't think it was price gouging. I am really happy with result. Review is a 4 star only because of a charge for blood work. My dog required 16 procedures. I understand the need to reduce brain swelling, pain medication, and intravenous. 15 of the charges were absolutely necessary. Given that my dog goes to lock one vets and has all shots etc up to date, they could have gotten her blood results from them that were taken recently. I asked 2 staff members for an explanation and am still scratching my head as to why it was deemed necessary at a cost of $300. Other wise the staff, cleanliness, service, and progress updates were 5 star. A really great option they offer is a free 24 hour re inspection, should you leave and have to bring your animal back!

We had to bring our sweet 15 1/2 year old girl in with a dislocated hip. We were from out of town and the care and compassion shown for both Maggie and us was most appreciated. Thank you for your support that night.

Was given false information over the phone with the office administrator which ended up being a fatal outcome. Was not advised to bring my dog in for a checkup, already being a large dostile breed Bulldog. Only suggested if he became lethargic to bring him in to be seen by a Vet on staff. Office staff should not be advising on pet care when their not a Veterinarian. I'll never call their for advise in what to do again. And they will never get a penny from me ever again. Please people do not trust the person taking the call to manage your pet care. They will steer you wrong with bad advise.

The Niagara Emergency Vet Clinic was fantastic with us today. Our 6 year old German Shepherd got into the kitchen compost, which (unfortunately) isn't anything new. The next day she began vomiting and was extremely lethargic. I called this clinic and they advised me if her lethargy becomes paired with another symptom (continued vomiting, diarrhea, panting etc) to then bring her in, but as of right now it just sounds like she has an upset tummy. 5 hours later, we're awoken to vomiting and diarrhea so we took her right in. As this clinic operates just like a human ER and sees patients based on severity, we did have to wait quite a while to get her in and have her seen (3 hours before we spoke to a vet) but once she was seen things moved quickly. The vet was very kind, very personable, and great to deal with. He explained that another medication she was on at the time weakened her stomach which is why she was having such a negative reaction to this round of compost eating. He gave her some anti nausea injections, sent her home with antibiotics as well as some food for her to use the next two weeks. You are expected to pay up front for the estimated cost of the services - for us that was $700 - however after it was all said and done we actually received a refund of $60. Everyone from the ladies answering the phones, to the women who took our dog in/brought our dog out, to the vet was just fantastic. If I ever need emergency services again (and I hope I don't!) I will not hesitate to return to this clinic.

Sat for 5 hours tonight with my pup.. left with an $850 vet bill. Although doctor and techs were nice, I was talked into unnecessary testing because they convinced me my pup had parvo which came back negative. Sat for 5 hours crying all alone. Bill quickly went from $620 to $850... they wanted me leaving him all night for almost $1700... not happening. Would definitely avoid. Only reason I went in was because my pup was having diarrhea and puking. Never again. Next time will wait to go to regular vet

While we decided it was best to say goodbye to our beloved 13-year-old dog Bella this morning, I can't thank all the staff enough. They were incredibly kind and understanding and never once pressured us to make a decision right then and there. From phoning the clinic very early this morning, to me explaining my dog's symptoms and my reservations about her age and the probable cost of treatment, the staff respected our decisions throughout the entire way and made the initial grieving process easier to accept. They even sent us a sympathy card in the mail which was completely unexpected and extremely kind. Thank you again to everyone there and for all of your advice and sympathies.

My husband had to rush my dog Bear in yesterday evening for emergency surgery on his right eye after my dog had tripped and fell down the stairs causing his eye to partially come out of the socket. They did a great job with explaining everything to my husband and took great care of my baby. The after care instructions are very detailed in what to do and what to expect. My husband had to pre-pay for the surgery and they even refunded him a considerable amount since the surgery didn’t take as long as they had expected. I am so very grateful that they’ve tried to save his eye. Today my baby is resting comfortably in bed with me. I would highly recommend this emergency clinic to anyone!

Christy Walker

Thank you so much for the wonderful care you gave me and my family during such a difficult time. You are all such caring people and my family and I really appreciate everything you do.

Brittany Desilva

Had to go yesterday as my dog had a bad ear infection and my vet couldn't take her for over a week. My dog has severe anxiety and they handled it amazingly. It was a long wait but totally worth it for the service we received. Thank you all so much ! Nahla feels much better already today!

Danielle Courchesne

We had brought our cat Bear here in the middle of the night when we knew something was very obviously wrong. We called in advance and the person on the phone was so kind to answer all of my questions before we made the decision to take him. Due to COVID we waited in the car when they first took him inside so they could perform a couple tests to find what was wrong. Within 10 minutes the doctor called us back and told us our poor kitty had a urinary blockage and needed to have surgery. She was SO incredibly patient with me on the phone as I was crying like a baby the entire time. We went home for a couple hours and she phone us around 2 AM to let us know that the surgery went well and they had removed the obstruction and he would be attached to a catheter for the next day. I phoned back at 7 AM with all of my questions and concerns and they answered each and every one of them with confidence, which definitely eased my anxiety. They told me I could call them as much as I wanted to get updates. He did end up ripping out his catheter so they reinstalled a new one and monitored him some more. When I spoke to the nurses on the phone they were all so cheerful and helpful, telling me Bear was smitten with all the staff and getting all of his head pats. Bear came home after 3 days with detailed paperwork about how to care for him post surgery and a couple cans of urinary food. They also phoned back about 3 days after he came home, just to get an update on how he was doing. We were so pleased with the service and care NVEC provided to Mr Bear. He is back to his usual self at home. We were very happy about our decision to take him here.

We had to bring my dog Coco in early this morning as she was hit by a car. We made the painful decision to put her down, they were fantastic. They gave us as much time as we needed with her, they were very compassionate, and did everything possible to make us feel as comfortable as possible as such a devastating time. Thank you for the wonderful care you gave her, and us as well.

Yesterday, Saturday, I took my 15 year old white cat to a pet groomer for the first time. I told her to be careful of his small lump in his left shoulder. Of course she was not. The groomer told me it broke open, and to put Polysporin on the wound. I didn’t see the bleeding area until I got him home and found the bleeding was quite profuse. His white coat all bloody in that area. So I called Niagara Vet Emergency first. Glad a did! I was told on the phone, by a pleasant young man named Mitch, to hold a compress on it 10 mins on, 10mins off and again. If the bleeding didn’t stop, call again. He also said, do NOT put Polysporin on it, as it could make things worse. It didn’t stop bleeding and I called again. I was also asked to send pics over to allow the vet to see how it looked and if it needed their attention that night. And given next steps instructions to stop the bleeding, which did work. All of this on the phone, their vet said it looked OK now and perhaps see my own vet on Monday to have the wound checked out. I was given free advice and treated with kindness and patience without taking my traumatized kitty out to an emergency vet visit. Great experience!

Horrible vet I wish I never took my dog there. She was so much worse once I brought her home. Then to find out when I checked in with my normal vet that they almost over dosed her on pain medication giving her extremely large dose for her size. Not to mention I walked put with an $800 bill and only left with pain meds and zero results . If you can wait till morning take your pet anywhere else but here!!

Tara Penner

Too expensive.

Laura Quieros

Had to take my dog in at 1 am. Great vet dr tina rubino. So kind and compassionate. Extremely knowledge. Did not feel that the prices were unreasonable considering the time of day and the care provided.

Brian Shipley

They where really good with my dog who needed emergency surgery to save her life. And they where good to keep me informed on how she was doing, however after going to my vet and informing them of how much we paid and finding out that was an outrageous price I am upset that they take advantage of your willingness to pay to save your loved one. I found during the process that they always seemed concerned for her but yet was doing well in most aspects. They seemed to always wanna do more, at a cost. Since being home she has been doing good and our vet has been nice enough to drop their cost to reflect there regret for having no choice but to send her there. You have to pay upfront before they will do anything and you pay the “highest possibility” they have no payment plan Either. If you can wait, take your pet somewhere else unless you have a big bank account.

Honestly the vets are good no need to worry there they did take good care of my dog, but if you dont have money this isn't the spot to go to. My dog was hospitalized twice here within a week span and spent around 6000$ with them only to find out he was to be put down. On discharge i was given 4 medications 2 unused and they were not able to give a refund on those 2 unopened medications as per "policy" ... they actually do not budge on pricing at all because they have a buisness to run rather than a hospital. I only recommend this spot if you have extra money for your pet your never going to be looking at a bill less than 700$ here minimum.

Isaura Bonin

Amazing staff, very friendly and compassionate, the veterinarian was so helpful and kind and we are so thankful for his help with our 8 week old puppy benji, thank you so much!

Dmitry N

Visited this clinic on couple of occasions, all emergencies. Had my familie's cat looked at here, the cat survived. Prices are on the higher end (emergency veterinary treatments are expensive !). If your pet does not have an emergency, I suggest that you visit your vet instead. I had mixed experiences with this place over the years. I think your experience depends on the veterinarian and staff present at the time of your visit. During my last visit the wait time was 5hours (minor emergency). My pet received the treatment he needed and was sent home.

Brought our pup in yesterday after he got a severe bite from another dog, lots of blood loss. The team took him got him stable and came out to give us an update, never felt like we were out of the loop. He is home and on the mend. Thanks again for All you guys do.

Jessica king

Had a non life threatening issue with my dog, brought him in late at night all the girls I dealt with were very helpful & accommodating! Thankful we have a 24hour emergency vet in the area!!

CALVIN JESSOME

Vastly overpriced. Compare elsewhere 1st! They're NOT getting the msg yet.

Jaimie Laister

Reasonable pricing, super kind staff. They took great care of my boy Edgar! Thank you!!

Caitlyn Vieira

Very professional and friendly. Showed up at 945pm with my pup having a terrible allergic reaction and they had him treated and out within 2hrs. They were very reassuring and really helped calm my nerves. Will definitely recommend to anyone who needs them.

Ma Fo

Great place for emergencies. Staff is friendly and caring. Doctor was excellent and made picking treatment choices very easy. Had a great experience bringing in my cat Edgar who is all better now.

Jackie Agg

We brought our dog here on the weekend when we noticed he wasn’t being himself and was lethargic. He ended up needing surgery and the staff here were amazing. They were so compassionate and always updating us on how he was doing. We’re very thankful he was in such good hands!

Never been to this place...but initially was happy to see it was near the Four Points I stay at once a year with my pup. Didn't realize Schmon looped around to where this place was. I don't think many of these emergency places are any different. For some reason sometimes it works, and people are extremely pleased with the outcome; for others it is a money hungry place that exploits being the only place open for the desperate among us. Make no mistake, our own vets dump us to use these places so that they can feel okay about not being accessible 24/7. Clearly they need a break too...but this is what we are left with. They hold your pet hostage until you make payment or arrangements. Very scary. On top of the fact that they have a bunch of BS excuses to keep family members out of their way. Very sad.

Gage Geisel

Terrible inhumane place to bring pets stay far away I'd you don't want your pets to suffer AGONY!!!!!!!!

sandy smith

This is an EMERGENCY CLINIC...go only if no other vet in the city is open for business!. The office VISIT charge does NOT INCLUDE any treatment..So that is absolutely no good... To get the treatment you obviously went there for- expect a big heavy list of additional charges! and also expect to sit and wait...we waited 3 hours ..I could have gone elsewhere....next time I will know

mesmashh

polite and understanding staff, outstanding treatment of our pet, followed up with a phone call the next moring to see how her recovery was doing, very pleased with the service

I wasn't going to review this place..but after going through a similar illness with my current cat I feel like I should post. We brought our kitty toma in over 5 years ago..they ran every test under the sun.. kept coming back and suggesting test after test.. eventually gauging us for 1200.00..our kitty was diabetic and had stopped eating or drinking..I mentioned the suggestion of pancreatitis..said they couldn't run that test.. results would need to be sent away..would take days to come back. So instead of making sure he was stable enough to go home. They ran a bunch of tests..and refered him to our vet anyways. This was early wed morning. I asked if there was an appetite stimulant or any way we could hydrate him at home. They advised us there was nothing they could do. To bring him in to our regular vet in the morning. We brought him in..he was eventually diagnosed with pancreatitis. The following day..friday..we couldn't afford the in house vet care needed to stabilize him and opted for euthanasia. Fast forward to our current kitty, also diabetic..also had a bout of pancreatitis..with symptoms of not eating or drinking..our vet gave us appetite stimulant..and though suggested in clinic care...we were able to hydrate him with iv fluids under the skin at home. He started to eat and drink again and heal. Unless your pet is in immediate distress..do not take them to this vet. If they had allowed us a stimulant to eat or iv fluids..maybe..just maybe our toma might have had a chance. This may be an unfair review due to time line. But my views have not changed on this clinic. Money is their first motivation.

Brought my baby girl in today very lethargic and breathing heavily, they were the sweetest people I could have encountered on this day got her in right away ( I did call ahead of time) Unfortunately the findings were not good and I ended up losing my baby, but through the whole process they were very sympathetic and very kind and they explained everything in a way that I understood and gave me the time I needed for my decisions and with everything they were doing. They explained all the costs upfront and were very honest with me. They made my horrendous day the most bearable that it could be under the circumstances. Highly recommend and will be going to them with any future animal concerns.

daniellekamps

Brought our kitten in who ended up needing an emergency surgery. Everyone I spoke to and interacted with was so thorough and caring. Dr. Kristina was so empathetic and gave us constant information and updates, and helped us to make the right medical choices for our little guy. A huge thank you to her and Dr. Price who performed Kingsley's surgery, and to Mitch who was so busy helping other pet parents, but arranged for me to spend a quick 5 minutes with Kingsley before his surgery. Thank you Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic!

Nina Talarico

Awful. All they did was briefly check my very sick dog. Instead of a plan. Started explaining there expensive ideas. Very expensive. They didnt care that my dog was dehydrated laying there for 4 hours. Didn't even get her a bowl of water. Waste of my day. I took her elsewhere and still had to pay massive just to walk in the door.

We took my mother's dog here on March 22, 2018. I understand that costs are elevated in an emergency clinic, this was not our concern. The vet tech assessed the dog and asked about whether my mother gave the dog scraps. When my mother said yes, the tech became quite judgemental....."your dog is on a renal diet and you give it table scraps" stated with quite a tone of judgement that made the situation uncomfortable. We continued the assessment. The vet gave us the estimate and my mother paid before the work continued. The receptionist charged my mother for radiology fees that were not agreed upon. My mother is a savvy business woman and noticed the overage immediately. The receptionist argued with my mother, stating that she was told something different. My mother paid the appropriate fee and the treatment continued. I later heard the receptionist talking to the vet tech that she is always right. Ridiculous!!!. It turned out that the dog had multiple tumors and nothing reasonable could be done. Euthanasia was the chosen course of treatment. Both vets that we worked with were excellent. The planned death was well managed by the vet. He did a great job. We paid for the cremation services and left. The next morning I received a call stating that we had been undercharged by $230. We were incorrectly charged for the regular cremation where no ashes would be supplied. It was at that point that I asked to speak to the business manager. The reply was that she didn't have a voicemail so I could email her and she would call me back. Who doesn't have a voicemail in the service industry??? The clinic wanted immediate payment for the short charge so I asked her to call my mother. The receptionist stated that I was being called because of a perceived language barrier. What??? My mother speaks fluent English with an accent. Certainly, there is no language barrier. I was shocked.....I gave my number so the clinic could call me to pick up the ashes. Their core values, which are posted on the wall, were not exemplified during our visit. It is unfortunate that a tragic experience was made worse with judgement and attitude that did not fit with their core values. Although the vets were excellent, I would suggest you go elsewhere. And for God's sake....do not give your dog table scraps.

Steph Sheptenko

Dr. Arnold and the other staff were very kind and compassionate and this was greatly appreciated given i had to make a very hard decision to put my beloved cat down.

Northern lights girl

I would not recommend going here i had called to see if i could get my kitten in to check her because she had leas worms and ear mites i got told the visit and examination and whatevere they wanted to do was over $200 so i told them i would take her to a vet closer and within walking distance and they tried to tell me she was in life threatening condition and because i didnt have the money and had to wait they called animal protective services and told them i was neglecting my kitten and had an officer at my door the next day while i was calling the vet im my town

Maddie L

Let me just say, my cat had just been put down tonight and the vet and vet tech on hand were amazing. truly made me feel like i was giving my cat to family as they took her to be euthanized. During covid there is only so much that they can allow you to do, but they did everything they could. I was very glad in knowing they had her for her few last breaths. Whoever the vet tech with the thumb nail growing back because of a cat bite, thank you. Im sorry i didn't get your name. You made my boyfriend and i feel so much better about everything. I hope that you see this review because its people like you that make people like us feel better. Thank you. Not to mention the vet on duty was also amazing. Really recommend this place. You know your animal will get the best care they could receive if they come here. i really cant express how happy we were with the whole service. Thank you x a million.

Ally Nic

The biggest thank you to the doctors, vet techs, receptionists, and everyone who works here. Dr Price saved our sweet Ninja from who a hernia due to complications after her spay. I want to give a shout out to Dr Shepard and Dr Rubina as well. You ladies are amazing and we cannot express the gratitude we have for you. They call you daily with updates on your pet and even send you a photo to show you how they are doing. They take the time to explain EVERYTHING and answered all of my questions (yes there were a lot ). Yes the prices may feel like your being stabbed in the gut when you hear them but you cannot put a figure on a beloved member of your family. We highly recommend this animal hospital !

Han Lu

worst hospital ever, no patience at all! especially on emergency issue, advice all the parents do not take your love pets to this hospital

Linda Thomas

Excellent care for when my dog, Bonnie. We are lucky to have such a clinic in our area available anytime. This kind of care costs money so those who complain should think twice.

FANTASTIC SERVICE. BROUGHT MY DOG IN FOR EMERGENCY SERGERY FROM AN ACCIDENT. THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND THE PRICE WAS FAIR. ALL THE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE $160 FEE UP FRONT DONT FORGET THIS IS A 24 HOUR EMERGENCY SERVICE. KEY WORD "EMERGENCY". SO IF YOU NEED SOMETHING DONE ON THE SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT TO SAVE YOU PETS LIFE THATS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY. IF YOU DOG HAS DIARREHA OR YOU CAT IS THROWING UP I WOULDNT CONSIDER THAT AN EMERGENCY.IF YOU THINK IT CAN WAIT UNTILL YOUR VET CAN TAKE YOU IN THEN YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER THAT OPTION.

Luca Nagy

The NVEC is the best emergency vet clinic I’ve ever had to take a dog to. They rejected the bogus diagnosis of the previous vet, and got Zoe healthy in a day sooner than the estimated hospital stay. They’re extremely professional and friendly, I could call for an update anytime and I would get thorough and checked answers. The lab is lightning fast, an 11pm bloodwork was ready at midnight as promised. I could also call back the day after discharge to follow up and get continued care and advice. Thank you NVEC!

Barb Cortese

Brought my 5 month old puppy in this past Saturday evening. She was assessed promptly and all staff was kind, empathetic and knowledgeable. After a costly quote ( which we were expecting at an off hours clinic) she had an overnight stay and came back to us the next day good as new! We were even given a $283.00 credit for services she did not end up requiring which was great! We wish we had not needed them at all but our experience with this clinic was a positive one. Thank you for looking after my baby !

Saving an animal's life is not this place's first concern. Period. Besides previous services I've had from this vet, I am beside myself as a canine professional, upon their refusal to provide an emergency and potentially life saving surgery for a puppy when no other vets are open in the Niagara region. A decision made by "management".

Caroline Smith

This is my third time bringing one of my dogs there and I absolutely admire their hard work, dedication and care. Very communicative, understanding and wonderful with my pups. Thanks for all that you've done.

I cannot believe this so called proffesional veterinary business has the nerve to post on social media especially with all the negative feedback . It almost turns my stomach when I remember how they mis-diagnoised my pet and almost convinced me to put her down . It has been almost a year and the dog they advised me to spend up to $10000 on has no issues at all ???? PLEASE SEEK OUT A MORE QUALIFIED CLINIC IF YOUR PET NEEDS HELP I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS.THEY IGNORED ME AND MY CONCERNS HOPING I WOULD GO AWAY .....SORRY NO LUCK !!! . Isee now on Facebook this business has deleted the option to write a review . I wonder if that is because of all the NEGATIVE reviews they have received from customers they have ignored paying attention to their feedback ??? WELL AFTER ABOUT 2 MONTHS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM SABRINA ZIMMERMAN MY ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED . I RECEIVED THE SAME PRESUMPTIVE RESULT AS MY DOG . NOTHING WAS DONE AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE . GOOD THING I'M HUMAN , IF NOT THEY PROBABLY WOULD HAVE PUT ME DOWN . I WAS "THANKED FOR MY CANDID " ( I GUESS THEY FEEL I WAS BEING FUNNY ??? ) REVIEW .THIS PLACE DOESN"T GIVE 2 CENTS WORTH OF COMPASION OR EVEN CARE HOW THEY TREAT THEIR CLIENTELE . IN CLOSING I WOULD AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT ALL COSTS !!! THERE HAS TO BE AND I WILL FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO CARE FOR MY PETS . NEVER AGAIN WILL I STEP FOOT IN THIS CLINIC ... HOW IS IT A BUSINESS SURVIVES AND PEOPLE ARE STILL TAKING THIER PETS (WHICH THEY LOVE SO MUCH )TO AN ESTABLISHMENT THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE RESPECT TO EVEN KEEP IN CONTACT WHEN THEY KNOW THEY HAVE AN UNSATISSFIED CUSTOMER ????? I HAVE BEEN PATIENTLY WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM ANYONE FROM THIS FACILITY, IT HAS BEEN MONTHS . I WILL GIVE THEM THE BENIFIT OF THE DOUBT MAYBE SABRINA WHO ASSURED ME SHE WOULD FOLLOW UP WITH ME NO LONGER WORKS THERE ???? STILL AN UNACCEPTABLE EXCUSE IN MY BOOKS . I AM GOING TO CALL THIS BUSINESS AFTER THE LONG WEEKEND AND LISTEN TO WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY THIS TIME , AS TO WHY I HAVE BEEN IGNORED . I have been in contact with Sabrina Zimmerman in regard to my previous posts about this facility and was advised she would be following up on my complaint and get back to me . So far no more contact , no resolution offered maybe their hoping I'll forget them too ????? I really hope people take the time to read this review .I would avoid taking your pet to this facility if at all possible . I had taken my 7 year old dog there on a Sunday because we thought she had broken her foot or leg. The technician took her into the back for X-rays and assessment . When she returned we were told quote " Good news it's not her leg ,no broken bones . But the next statement was they figured she had a degenerated disc in her spine common to that breed of dog ?? HOW WAS THAT GOOD NEWS . Their recommendation was a MRI for approx. cost of $ 2500. and if spinal surgery was required an additional approx. $ 10,000.The only other option we had was to put the dog down. After many tears and considering our options we decided to take the dog home ,put her in a cage with some medication the vet gave us . She was to have complete relaxation . Two weeks went by and the dog seemed better , we took her to our vet and were told she had pulled a tendon and that there was nothing wrong with our pet . I was charged over $ 800. that day for a misdiagnosed pet , that if we would have put her down I would have been devastated !!! This is the second dog I have had there and both times they were misdiagnosed and putting them down was suggested . The first instance the dog lived 3 years longer after I was told it was just a matter of time ?? If the director of this facility would like to meet with me I would gladly discuss the issues I have with this facility and why I feel I have unjustly paid for emergency care I did not receive. If they do contact me ( which I doubt ) I will definitely post the outcome of our meeting .

I had to have my cat put down on very short notice and came here. I was blown away by how kind and compassionate everyone was and how well they took care of my cat during his last hours. They were very patient and gave me as much time as I needed to be able to say good bye. To have this type of service during such a difficult time really helped me to be able to get through everything.

This was my second time calling! My first call was for one of my 8 week old puppies ( Dec.23/21). Niagara Veterinary saved his life. They were amazing and able to work within my budget as well. My second call was today and once again Niagara Veterinary was there when my regular Vet had closed for the day. Today after a few questions they were able to not only help me figure out what was wrong with my other (now 5 month) pup, but saved me the cost of a visit. Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic is who you want to call when your fur baby is in trouble.

Our cat got into some raisins, which are toxic and could cause kidney failure. We called and they said to bring her in, but also to call Poison Control to get advised of a treatment plan that we can then tell the vet, because PC are the experts. Isn't the vet supposed to be the expert? Odd. We then waited for an hour on hold with PC (before they eventually said just keep monitoring her for 48 hrs and hope she vomits on her own), and in the meantime called the Emergency Vet back. Only on this 2nd call did they tell us it was a 6 hour wait (at which point trying to get our cat to vomit up the raisins would be useless). That is information you need up front! Make sure you ASK RIGHT AWAY what the wait time is!

Well folks what has it been since my last post 2 weeks , 3 weeks , a month ???? Still no reply or resolution to my discussion with Sabrina Zimmerman or anyone in fact from this facility . Just think if I was waiting for assistance with the care of my pet it would probably be deceased before I received help ?? STILL WAITING FOR SOME RESOLUTION ................................ Since my last review I have been contacted by Sabrina Zimmerman from the emergency clinic . Oh it gets better !! After discussing the treatment of my pet and myself at thier emergency clinic , I did received an apology in regard to the choice of words my pets doctor used in reference to her condition . After being talked around in circles and being told I paid $ 800. for a pre sumptive diagnois it appears no resolution will be reached . Although I was told they will discuss the issue and contact me at a later date . When I arrived home after work I was informed they had contacted my Vet and have convinced her to agree with their diagnois about a spinal dis- order . This after my Vet had looked at the dog and dis- agreed with the initial diagnois . It seems now they are seeking the help of my Vet ( which I won't disclose at this time but may in future reviews ) to cover their mis diagnois . Now they have created doubt in my mind who I can trust to care for my pets . I have all intentions of updating the results of my encounter with Niagara Emgergency Vet Clinic ....

They charge you $200 just for walking through the door. My pup had a siezure in the middle of the night and this was the only place open. So we rushed her there. The vet listened to her heart and lungs, and said what you described is a siezure. That was $200! She then had another so we brought her back to get blood work done. They said it would be $300 ended up $400. They jumped to the worst conclusion. Me and my boyfriend left destrote thinking our dog would have a terrible life being constantly drugged and sedated. We brought her to our family vet who tested her for numerous things that could have caused the seizures and provided natural solitaions to the drugs. I would never recomend this place to anyone. They charge you lots for little results.

If I could give a negative rating I would. My husbands 7.5 month old puppy got into a bottle of my heavy medication that I take for back pain and no I didn’t realize that the bottle had fallen out of my purse at the time. When we called there after hour vet they would not help us because we didn’t have $200.00+ upfront to pay for them to see him as well they have no kind of payment plan to help either. His beautiful baby boy passed away last night because by the time we were able to get him to our regular vet there was nothing they could do for him. I will never recommend this vet to anyone ever.

Even though is was a little on the pricy side, the service was awesome, and the problem with my little dog looked after quickly. Dr Arnold was personable and very easy to communicate with, came out to my car and gave me the necessary meds and info personally. I was unable to accompany my dog inside because of Covid, but the service was excellent and efficient. Thank you so much!

AMAZING AND CARING Our cat (Cookie) spent three nights at the Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic after a gastrointestinal perforation repair surgery (performed at a different animal hospital that does not provide overnight care). The clinic provided twice daily updates on Cookie’s condition and every individual we spoke with (doctors, technicians, staff) spoke with compassion and kindness. It is evident that everybody at this clinic shows great care for the animals under their charge. We were provided with detailed “take home” instructions, and all of our questions were answered. We ended up calling back with a question once arriving at home, and the clinic was wonderful with addressing all our concerns.

My husband and I drove here in a snow storm to have our cat seen.,,,,the things we do for our pets,,, The minute we walked in the door to the time we left, we were very well treated. Everyone was very professional and caring, and the vet (Dr. Arnold) was super, and spent a lot of time explainig the situation to us. He even made a follow up call the next day to check on the cat. I thought the cost was reasonable, as I expected it would be more. All in all it was a good experience, and good to know there's a place we can take our pet to when our usual vet is closed.

Have unfortunately had to come here a few times for our dog but yesterday was one of the best experiences we have had. Dr. Arnold and the vet techs were very kind and understanding. Dr. Arnold presented us with a couple options so we could decide the best course of action for our dog. It was nice that he came outside himself to speak with us directly rather than talking to us over the phone. You can tell the staff and Dr. Arnold are truly passionate about animals and even though our dog can be uncomfortable being handled by strangers, they made us feel like he was very good for them. And our dog came out from the office as happy as ever so we know they treated him well. He actually prefers this place to our regular vet!

Bruin

We had to put our 14.5 year old beagle "Bruin" down and choose to come here because they allowed us to be with him while they put him under. Our regular vet wasn't allowing this due to the carona epidemic. The staff was great, they brought him out back of the clinic on a stretcher and allowed for us to say our good byes to our beloved boy. Thank you very much it meant a lot to us to be there with him!

I cannot believe i paid $350 for a bunch of meds that made my dog WORSE! No tests were done, all guesswork. I overheard the next door patient screaming about how they were bilking her out of thousands of dollars and unable to heal her dog as well. Worst experience!!!!

Matt Doucet

Horrible service. Told them my dog is choking told me not to worry about it and that not my dog isnt choking

RUOXI liu

The doctor is lack professinal skill ,they only care about money ,do not suggest go there for emergency

This clinic saved our dog! All of the staff at this clinic are professional, honest and kind. We received many phone calls and had pictures emailed to us while our dog was in their care. As with any vet visit or clinic, the emergency surgery was pricey (but comparable to other places), our total went far over our quote which was a bit of a surprise but we were happy to get our sweet girl home...alive!!

My dog was recently seen for a urinary tract infection. Not a life-threatening emergency but she was very unwell and distressed.Since I am new to the area and do not have a vet yet, and it was 6:30 am, I needed her to be seen quickly. I was advised of the fee on the phone. There is nothing surprising about an emergency fee and naturally the antibiotic and pain management meds are additional. The technicians were excellent as was the vet, Dr Rubino. Everyone was kind and efficient. I am very grateful that there was a 24-hour emergency service so close by. The process and outcome were exactly what I expected and within 24 hours my dog was very much on the mend and much happier.

These angels were there for my family in our time of need, and there aren't words to express our gratitude. Our Millhouse was at the end of his battle with chronic kidney disease, and his regular vet was on vacation. Dr. Price and staff stepped right in to see that Millhouse was comfortable and cared for, right to the end. The procedure was done outside, he was in a comfy bed and we sat with him at a picnic table, so much nicer than a sterile exam room. Thank you so much for making such a difficult day tolerable. People complain that this hospital is expensive, but the bill was half of what I paid for the same service 10 years ago when I brought a dying cat to an alternate vet as my regular one was out of town. It was only slightly more than my regular vet would have charged me. But all in all, what they did for us and Millhouse was invaluable.

If you want your kitty still alive, pls. remember that you should never bring your cat here. When my kitty was sick, the doctors give me two choices: one is surgery with cost around $1000-$4000, but very risky, and the other is Euthanasia. I was asking to take kitty back home, to find other doctors, they stopped me, and threaten me to call animal protection organization to charge me. I had no choice but Euthanasia. He died with unclosed eyes. Laterly, I heard one cat was easily cured by other doctors, only cost $300, and the cat is alive. My cat was poisoned by this hospital, they are not good doctors, pls remember my warning to keep your kitty safe.
