Issues that have been troubling our cats for years have been cleared up, my cats have more energy and their coats could not be nicer. Pet-centric care at its best! I truly could not be happier with the care my dog and cat receive at Martindale Animal Clinic. We initially took our Pomapoo here a couple of days after we got him since he needed to be treated for fleas, and we were thoroughly impressed with the level of service and explanation that the team went through just for a flea treatment. Whenever we bring out pets here, the sincere love for animals that the entire Martindale team has is apparent. I noticed in another comment cost is mentioned as a negative. I think it's really important for people to understand that Martindale invests in technology, having enough staff to keep things running smoothly, and informative brochures to really allow pet parents to fully understand what goes into procedures. With that being said, you won't have to remortgage your house to bring your pet here...the prices are reasonable and they offer a payment plan for surgical procedures. Lower costs mean cutting corners, and I don't believe that corners should be cut in the care of animals. If your pets are your babies, you will absolutely love it here (and so will they)!

We called at 7:30 am and they were already open. They allowed us to bring in our dog for 9, which fit our busy schedules. The service we received was excellent. The Vet was very professional and thorough in her examination. They had the medication on-site and explained everything through the iPad they gave to us. Covid restrictions did not allow us to go in with our dog, but they took excellent care of him while he was examined. Thank you so much for being exactly what our dog needs each time we visit.

After losing our last dog very young to cancer, and struggling to get appointments at our last vet, the move to a larger clinic has really eased my anxiety. I love the staff at this clinic! I've been taking my pug Bella here since we moved to the region and have been amazed at the level of service and care at this facility. Excellent medical assessments and follow through - when Bella slipped a disc in her spine and needed immediate surgery at OVC, Martindale was able to book me in for an emergency immediately with no delay. Their close relationship with Niagara veterinary emergency clinic means that 24 hour care and correspondence are always available. Thanks for everything you do!

My 7 year old dwarf rabbit broke his arm on the Saturday of a long weekend and luckily Martindale Clinic was open and able to see him immediately. From the second I brought him into the clinic I felt very comfortable and knew that Cadbury was in good hands. They told me my options for treating such a small animal and together we made the best decision for him. I returned every 2-weeks for a check up and each time they welcomed us back and I knew he was being cared for properly. After 3 months of treatment I am beyond happy to say that our little Cadbury is healed and back to normal! Thank you Martindale Animal Clinic, Dr. Barnes, Dr. McGill and all the staff that made this very stressful time easier on us. I highly recommend this clinic for all pet owners but especially for rabbit parents.

From the receptionists, to the vet techs, to the Doctors themselves... you will be hard pressed to find any another animal clinic in the Niagara region with such compassionate, knowledgeable and empathetic practitioners. I have witnessed the love and tenderness that they have provided for my fur babies and the many animals that I have rescued as strays overseas. Over the years I’ve called and emailed from foreign countries needing their advice for many of our extremely ill strays, and they have always helped me find a solutions for the cats and dogs I’ve taken in, with the very limited medications available in Kazakhstan. Each time that we have had to say goodbye to our elderly kitties, the Staff at Martindale prepared our final moments spent together by setting up a room with soft lights, tranquil music, cozy blankets, plenty of tissues and made sure that our fur babies were completely comfortable, pain free and relaxed as we took turns holding them and shared our last moments together. I highly recommend Martindale Animal Clinic and would give them a million stars if possible for this review. Thank you so very much for the love that you shower your furry patients with and the comfort that you provide their owners with. You have become like family to me over the years and I have been so blessed to have your team behind me, helping to rehabilitate and heal the most neglected and needy animals I’ve ever come across.

DR ELIZABETH MCGILL & staff at the Martindale animal hospital were amazing. Our 6lbs puppy was sick. She wouldn't stop vomiting all night, wouldn't eat or drink and was getting worse by the second. We brought her in & they hooked her up to IV immediately to get fluids back inter her. They did an exray and found something in her stomach. They did surgery & removed the object. Dr.Mcgill insisted that our pup shouldn't go home for 3 days to make sure she was completely healed & no worry of infection etc. She brought our pup home with her every night!! To her own house every night & back in the morning!! When we brought out dog back a month later I thought that she would be terrified to be in there because of her experience. It was the complete opposite. She was excited to see everyone & the staff were excited to see her. I've been to many animal hospitals & none compare to this one! I can't say thank you enough for being so amazing to us!

They took our little joey bear in for teeth surgery when we had to wait with another place till the end of October, he couldn't wait that long as he was in pain. They didn't have to take him, but they did and we are greatful for that. They took great care of him and sent picture by text to us after it was over. I recently brought home a Kitten rescue and had set up an appoint at the Martindale Animal Clinic. My appointment was booked with Dr. Davis, and I have to say that I am SO happy with the service! Due to covid restrictions, I had a virtual appointment where I brought my kitten to the vet clinic and waited in the parking lot with an iPad to hear more about my kitten's condition. Dr. Davis took the time to educate me on some tips and tricks for raising a kitten as I am a first-time cat owner and was very patient in answering all my questions. Unfortunately, my kitten had a cold and I did not realize until after the vet visit. I emailed the clinic during the long weekend and they gave me a call the next morning after labour day! They booked an appointment with me right away and they saw my kitten on the same day. Dr. Davis and her Team showed me how to give the kitten her medication and even followed up the next day to see if she has made any progress. The team is so attentive and my kitten LOVES seeing them. Thanks for all of the help and for providing such amazing service. I would absolutely recommend the Martindale Vet Clinic to loving pet owners.

I recently switched vets from another vet in the city due to a bad experience. The level of service is amazing at Martindale. I have an 8 year old golden retriever that has eye issues, and they have sorted out the issue within 2 visits - after years of appts at the other vet. Her skin issues are also under control after 2 visits as well. I am looking forward to many more years with my golden. They always offer you options, and understand that cost can be a factor in your decision making. Their prices seem to be in line with other vets in the area. I am so happy I switched over. If your pet is a part of your family, you will be happy to have them cared for at Martindale. I had one puppy spayed by Martindale as well, and was able to compare the service at the other vet - and the healing and recovery was way better at Martidale.

After my first visit, I knew I'd never go to another vet. They are very knowledgeable and skilled and it truly shows through their work. This clinic went above and beyond my expectations when I was having a GI statis scare with my bunny. I explained that I worked 8am to 6pm and there was no way I could make it to the vet before the weekend, but I was worried to wait that long to pick up Critical Care. I reached out to see if they knew of elsewhere I could get it in a pinch, or if there was an alternative. While there wasn't another alternative the receptionist, and I so wish I wrote her name down, went out of her way to check if it was available from pet valu, pet smart, and even reached out to a DIFFERENT VET CLINIC that is significantly closer to my home to see if they had it in stock. Martindale is worth the drive every time and I would never doubt their talent and passion. Thankfully all was well with my bunny and I was able to pick it up from Martindale before closing. Thank you to the Martindale team for your continued support.

This clinic is AMAZING. My boyfriend and I had a terrible experience with another clinic in town so naturally we were very nervous to bring our cat anywhere. Our cat went here for a checkup today and they made us feel so comfortable. We were given an ipad and Dr. Barnes facetimed us while examining him. She was incredibly informative, thorough and kind and was so gentle with our fur baby, who is often shy around new people. Not to mention all the other staff were so sweet. I definitely recommend bringing your animals here.

This clinic practices the best medicine possible. In Canada, we are fortunate to have universal health care. If we lived elsewhere, people would know it's thousands of dollars just for simple blood tests. The adage that you get what you pay for is true. And this clinic makes sure our animals are safe, managed in terms of pain, and most importantly are careful about restraint and stress levels. As a former veterinary technician I have literally seen a cat almost die from taking blood. Cats in particular are very sensitive to restraint and knowing that this clinic will use chemical restraint if necessary is a huge relief for me. Trust me when I say that Vets and Technicians are not wealthy! Equipment costs so much to begin with. I just had a dental procedure on my cat and they recommended dental xrays to ensure the roots are taken care of....of course. Have you been to a dentist that doesn't take xrays to see what is underlying? They are wonderful in terms of service and the medicine they practice and I highly recommend them. If you own a pet, you are responsible for their veterinary care. Plan for it. An animal is usually good till about 7 or 8....for cats at least. And then you know you are going to have to deal with dental disease, organ issues, diabetes, thyroid issues....they just happen. Cost should not be what is reviewed in a clinic. Level of care of our family members is what matters....and they have this covered in spades.

This clinic is very good. We recently had an emergency with our 4 month old puppy. I was able to be seen right away and the surgery was done that afternoon to remove the sock he had eaten. They took really good care of him and also allowed us to pay with a payment plan. We now have signed up for pet insurance!

We've been bringing our dogs here for over 15 years. I have alot of great stuff to say about the friendliness and helpful veterinarians here. They've helped us out greatly during difficult times. Our first dog lived a bright and quickly life and staff made us feel very comfortable. My only complaint is that they have a tendency for more tests than I feel necessary and they push that terrible dog food Royal Canin. A great animal hospital and I will continue to bring my dogs here for years to come.

You cannot get any better service anywhere. The vets, techs and reception staff are wonderful people. My first visit was 3 weeks after moving to St. Catharines. We had to euthanize the street cat we had rescued. These people had never seen us before and they treated us like family. Our dogs love going to visit everyone at the clinic and our lab cross thinks it's his personal shopping experience. They truly care about their patients.

Wow - not only did Dr. McGill see Cookie the day I called in with a problem, but we had a wonderful socially distanced visit via iPad! I just parked in a numbered spot, called in, and an associate brought the iPad to me and took my pup back to see Dr. McGill. No waiting. Four customers obviously being 'seen' at once, and no worries about social distancing. As usual, there was abundant care for Cookie good suggestions and solutions, and no sense of being rushed. We love Martindale Animal Clinic! Best of all - Cookie is much better today.

At Martindale Animal Clinic, both veterinarians and support staff, are amazing. My fur babies get the best care - if they are in for injury or illness, we always get a followup call to make sure everything is going okay. When I had to put one of my cats down, the staff went out of their way to make sure I had all the time I needed to say goodbye. One time when my dog was ill I was able to email one of the vets to address any concerns over the weekend. They go above and beyond in caring for our pets, and I highly recommend them to everyone.

To Expensive of vet. Rember that you are not the only vet available and people will travel a whole extra 5 minutes to save hundreds of dollars. Was told that a female spay is $475+tax. The other vet cost $169 including tax. The SPCA is cheapest but there procedure is just not up to par for my cattery. Will not take my business here do to overpriced vet fees.

This place is simply amazing. I recommend it to anyone who wants the best advice for their animals (dogs in my experience as I own a little frenchie). My puppy Callie has been suffering with itchy skin since she came into my life 5 months ago and it has cost me thousands of dollars to try and find the solution. I kept going to cheaper vets as I was very strapped for cash and trying to manage my money for faster results, however cutting corners has gotten me nowhere but further into the hole with money. I finally had enough and heard of Martindale Animal Clinic through a friend, and when I brought Callie the first thing they did was welcome me and offer me something to drink (amazing customer service). When it was finally time to see Doctor Williams, she was so good with Callie. My puppy hates vets from her experience but she absolutely adores Doctor Williams, you can tell she really is an animal person. When she did her thorough exam on Callie, she went into detail of what she found and why she thought whatever she found was the cause. She also explained to me more than the other vets of what Demodectic Mange can cause and what the future will hold. It has been a rough run with my new puppy, and still continues to be as we try to find the problem and solution, but I can tell you I have never been more impressed with a vet, and I feel like Callie is in the safest hands possible. Martindale Clinic When I moved to Saint Catherines from Toronto, during the move my Chihuahua was unfortunately hit by a ladder! We rushed him to this clinic and they refused to see him because we had no appointment!! It was only 4:20 in the afternoon on a weekday! We pleaded with them and still they refused even though the vets were still there! I was absolutely astounded by their lack of compassion!!! We had to take him to the Emergency Clinic which is in Thorold. I have 3 dogs and a cat and would never take my pets to this horrible place. I've heard now from neighbours that they are extremely pricy as well.

Our family was referred to Martindale Animal Hospital by our friends at Carling animal Hospital in Ottawa when we told them that we were moving to Niagara and needed a veterinarian for our rabbits and cats. We've presented them with such problems as jaw surgery for one rabbit, over-grown molars in our other rabbit, tooth removal in one of our cats and a cat who was diagnosed with vestibular syndrome (vertigo in humans). All are doing well and made a full recovery under the care and guidance of the Vets and Support Staff. We appreciate their kindness so very much. They have always been able to fit us in and work within certain budget restraints. A terrific crew who think fast on their feet and exhibit a wonderful concern for our animals and for us. Highly recommended!

You can rest assured bringing your pets here! They're very passionate about helping pets live healthy and happy lives. I always get a friendly greeting, even when just stopping in to pick up food. It's a very clean, professional clinic. They always send out nice email reminders and even send out cards at Christmas. It is a bit pricier than some, but worth the level of honest care and commitment they give to our fur family. 10/10 would recommend.

Their staff and services were fine, but their pricing is way too much. Every time I went in they informed me the prices had gone up. Before our last visit my wife turned to me and said If the prices are higher again than we should look into more affordable vets. Sure enough when we pulled out the debit card they informed us the price for flea and tick medication has once again gone up. I purchased a box, phoned a few other vet clinics and quickly realized the prices only seem to rise at this clinic. Other clinics offer much more affordable prices with the same level of care.

When I called for pricing they told me that on top of the fees for euthanasia and cremation they legally have to charge $84.00 for an exam on top of it because he wasn't a patient there. I called three other vets. No one even mentioned that at all. Why does this legality only apply to this clinic? The exam alone cost what the euthenasia does anywhere else. He's dying. That's all the exam will tell anyone

I was originally going to give a 4-star review, since as others have said, this clinic is a bit pricier than some of the others. But after the quality of service Gizmo and I received from Dr.Barnes and her team, they definitely deserve 5 stars! I will break my review down by category, to give the highlights. Price: Yes, it's a bit more expensive to take your animals here. But, for the price you pay, you get an AMAZING staff (seriously, everyone there has an Honours Degree, lots of knowledge, and they care about your furry friends!), you get a vet who will consult with you even when you aren't scheduled in (Dr.Barnes took a good 15 minutes between appointments to consult with my boyfriend and I about our cat, answering every question we had), there are rooms designated for cats only, a lot of lab work is done on-site (including blood and urine analysis). Overall, you are paying for expertise, resources, and quality service. Even then, they are willing to work with you on financing, discounts, etc. wherever possible. Animal Care: Well, if I didn't believe in the care given here, I wouldn't have gone back after the 1st appointment. I initially took our cat in for a cold, and when Dr.Barnes noticed some abnormalities, which we ended up doing follow-up tests on. Now, our cat is on the path to the best quality of life, and I don't even know if another vet would have been as thorough. But, now I wouldn't want to risk it for my furry children. Accessibility: I bussed over with the cat. It's a super straightforward bus ride there, which is nice for reducing stress. The office itself is always clean, the staff will help you hold doors and bring animals out to your vehicle if need be. Appointments are also super accessible, with the staff aiming to get your animal in as soon as possible, around your schedule (which makes it great that they are open til 7 and on Saturday). Summary: If you want your pet to have quality care, Martindale Animal Clinic is a great choice. Don't get me wrong, there are other good vet clinics in the area, but I have had the most thorough, most accommodating service through Martindale, and will continue with them for my furry children's veterinary needs. ????

When our long-time vet had a temporary closure during the pandemic we were desperately in search of another clinic who could accept and examine our beloved senior Shih-poo after a seizure. I called around to a few local vets and got hurried off the phone saying they couldn't help, and offered no suggestions. At this point I was in tears when I called MAC. The receptionist was so polite, kind, and accommodating I was taken aback! She promptly got me in for an appointment that afternoon as we were so worried about our pooch ♥️ When we arrived I thought I was going to have to hand him over and leave him there, which made me uneasy because he is an anxious dog. To my surprise they offered us an iPad tablet so that we could sit in our car during the examination and participate! I was literally so thrilled I had to hold back my tears during ???? Dr. Lindsay was SO lovely, knowledgeable, and empathetic to our concerns over our aging pup. Her enthusiasm and light-heartedness really made a scary situation so much more bearable. Dr. Lindsay's communication was phenomenal while we awaited test results as well as relaying those results to us. I could go on & on about what a positive experience this was. It is so clear that this is a veterinary clinic with HEART ♥️ Schmuff & I cannot thank them enough!!

Unfortunately my dog has gone to this vet since he was a puppy. He will be 13 years old this year, since he was 2 years old he got ear infections after ear infections. We ended up spending thousands of dollars until they figured out what worked and that it is due to seasonal allergies. He gets stressed out going there and has to be helped in and out of the car in order to go for vet visits. So I need someone to help me bring him there. He is stressed out for days after as well, loosing his hair all over the place. Instead of them just giving me a prescription because they now know he has over a 10 year history of this, they rather stress him out bringing him in several times. This does not help that in the last 5 years he gets a different vet everytime were in there and I feel I have to explain over and over his history which they should already know. I feel they care more about money than the animals they care for.

My rabbit was all of a sudden ill and we needed urgent advice from a doctor what to do because it was an emergency and we didn’t have any access to transportation to the clinic. The secretary was not helpful did not give any advice what to do with the current situation instead trying to get us over there. She instead asked us for our information and ask for ways of payment “MasterCard” when we were going through a rough disaster trying to find a way to save our pet. She didn’t suggest anything that would have been helpful in this matter of an emergency instead told us to get to the clinic ASAP when we would only have transportation when our parents reached home at 6pm. This was a tragic situation as we expected from the call to get at least some help to save our pets life. My last moments with him was trying to find help to save my rabbits life but instead did not get any and he pasted shortly after.

This is a very good pet clinic, I am a student of Brock University, I have four dogs, every dog is there to see a doctor, check up, buy medicine! Although sometimes the price is a little high, but one price for each service, here I would like to thank all the doctors and staff, especially Monica, who is the most responsible person I have ever met, because she helped me deal with all the documents for my pets to return to China! I have been taking both my pets to Martindale Animal Clinic since they day I brought them home. Spencer, my now 12 year old Cocker Spaniel and his sister, Baylee, my 9 year old Cocker Spaniel. The staff at Martindale have always been there for me and my pets for the simplest of questions to the most difficult. Recently, my youngest dog, Baylee underwent a ultra-sound due to increase enzymes in her liver. The ultra-sound fortunately found 2 tumors on her spleen. One very large one about the size of a loonie and the other the size of a dime. Dr. Bailey immediately notified me and we discussed the best course of action....surgery. Removing the spleen was the best choice to assure my baby had a prolong life. I struggled with this. Removing an organ...how dangerous...am I doing the right thing? I had so many questions. Dr. Bailey worked on easing my concerns...but I needed a second opinion. Being the professional and only wanting the best for my pet, Dr. Bailey forwarded the ultrasound reports to a second radiologist. The conclusion was the same...the spleen needed to be removed. If the tumors were cancerous they could spread...they could rupture...they could end my dogs life. Still full of questions and doubt, I needed to talk it out once again and I spoke with Dr. Williams. She answered all my questions and cleared my mind of doubt. The day of surgery came. I wanted Dr. Bailey to be my baby's surgeon, she has been her primary veterinarian since the first day and I trusted her to provide the best care possible. The surgery felt like it took forever. When I got the call that everything went really well and the spleen was removed with little to no bleeding, I was elated. Now we only had to wait for the pathologist report. Did she have cancer? and if so, what kind. Baylee incision was between 8-10 inches long, large you would imagine, but the following day I picked up my baby and she behaved like she was there for a friendly visit. Her tail was wagging and she was excited to see everyone. You would never know she had a organ removed from her body. She has healed nicely. The incision is barely noticeable and the best news is the tumor was not cancerous. With the guidance and support of Dr. Bailey and Dr. Williams, I know my decision was the right one. A week after surgery, Baylee returned to see Dr. Bailey and she was so excited to see her. Dr. Bailey always showed deep concern and compassion for my dog and my feelings. She never took my request for a second opinion personally and only wanted my mind to be at ease and to help me reach the best decision I could make for the health my dog. I can't thank Dr. Bailey and all the staff at Martindale enough for there attention and compassion. Thank you! :)

I just had my first visit here. All of the staff was amazing! From the receptionist setting up the appointment and squeezing us in, to the skilled Technician who took my dog’s blood, to the extremely patient and knowledgeable Doctor. I was truly impressed! We found our experience here extremely disappointing. Service was mediocre and phenomenally more expensive than other licensed and reputable vet clinics in the region. Their business model is to perform high-pressure services that use guilt and fear tactics to get you to spend more. The clinic staff is evasive and patronizing, and they were less than willing to hear of our concerns when we spoke to them about the prices we have paid for their services. Each time we visited the clinic for a pre-scheduled appointment, we were forced to wait a half hour before our pet was even seen. All answers to our concerns seemed well-rehearsed, as if they had been confronted with similar concerns many times before. We would recommend that anyone who cares for their pets and for their pocketbooks to never walk through the door of this establishment.

I recently moved to St.Catharines from Mississauga and my little one Luna whose 14 months got really sick a couple days ago. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a good veterinarian here last minute, however Martindale came to the rescue and was able to schedule us in the same morning i called. They handed me a tablet to interact with the Doctor which is a great feature. The appointment was almost an hour...which I've never heard of for a first check up. Dr. Allen and the staff took such great care of Luna while she was there. She's was so genuinely loving and caring towards Luna, you can tell that she has a gift with animals. I'm so happy I was able to find a vet so close to our new home that takes good care of animals and that's reasonably priced. I just paid 800 DOLLARS today for blood screen for my dog. He was feeling unwell and had tremors. Bloodwork came back normal. They are getting ridiculously pricey. It’s the last time I’m going there. Outrageous! I’m sick to my stomach about it. Since when is blood test $500+? But I felt helpless and no other options were suggested (unless you consider the option for $450 X-rays which I declined). Add dr visit and tax and boom. $800. Sickening.

This week was my family and I’s first ever trip to the vet. Never having had a puppy or pet before we were very nervous about Ella’s exprience. Ella is a 2.6 pound morkie, very tiny and very anxious. Currently during this covid pandemic we were upset that we were unable to be in the appointment with her. Martingale clinic didn’t let that stop us from still having an loving and interactive exprience with her. By implementing iPads we were able to sit in our car and be guided through the entire process by the wonderful Dr. Elizabeth McGill. Using a few liver treats and lots of love Ella stopped shaking with in five minitues and it felt so good to know she was in the right hands. Dr. McGill answered every single one of questions in detail and reassured us that everything would be alright. At the end of the visit her lovely employees brought out Ella, along with a bag of puppy supply’s that would be beneficial for Ellas health and a booklet on having a new puppy. They even stapled on little care baggies for us (the owners) filled with chocolate and starburst. This was the most caring, loving and professional experience I have ever had when it comes to our new puppy, i cant even imagine what it would be like in person. My family and I are excited to continue going here for the best care possible so little Ella can live a long, happy and healthy life. I would recommend this clinic to anyone with a new pet or anyone who wants the best possible care for there new family member.

I cannot thank Martindale Animal Clinic enough for working with Ninth Life Cat Rescue and accomodating us with our five stray kittens! These poor little guys were captured just in time as winter is right around the corner. Over the last few weeks the Doctors and support staff have impressed me with their treatment for these stray cats. Compassionate, kind, caring and loving towards ALL animals. Even scared little ones who have not come out of their shell yet! After the kittens had surgery I was sent a photo of them sleeping on a fluffy bed and was given individual photo ID cards for each kitten...this was very appreciated. I would 100% recommend this animal hospital to anyone I know! Two weeks following my move back to Niagara my 2 year old great Dane became very ill. She had eaten a bowl of garlic butter. Being that I am RVT and did not have a job at a clinic I was very nervous to take her anywhere. My experience at martindale animal clinic was absolutely incredible. The vets were extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. Dr barnes was fabulous. She was honest with her opinion and I very much appreciated that. She gave me every option for diagnostics and treatments but not once did I feel pressured one way or the other. She was supportive and understanding of the decisions I made. The entire martindale team made this awful experience a lot easier on me. Every single staff member was positive and an absolute pleasure to deal with. They were all more than happy to update me on ellie's status while she was hospitlized even when i called 3 and 4 times a day. The technicians all took great care of my girl and i am so greatful for that. I was regularly informed of how much of a suck she is and that they were all giving her the love and affection that she gets at home.Today Ellie is back to her normal goofy and lazy self. Knowing your pet is in great hands is the best feeling possible when they are sick. Last year I had my male cat neutered with out a check up, this year I called about my other male and was told I needed to have the cat checked out for around 60.00 before he can be fixed. I understand that but whomever on the phone argued with me that my first cat there had to have a check up in which I told her no he didn't. I do know that he didn't but the gal argued with me. I've not had an issue at all with this vet until I was told basically that I was wrong. Money is tight so I do know where all my dollars and cents go. Please read the account before just saying your not right.. that would solve alot of issues... I am a student who rescued a cat from a neglectful situation. the first couple times the doctors were lovely. the most recent time i went, the doctor made it seem as though I was the neglectful owner. I am young and have limited income, but will spend anything for my cat if there is a need. I brought her in for vomiting, and the vet said it might be stomach issues. I agreed and said let's get her on a prescription food. then, she changed her mind and said it was definitely a respiratory issue. she "heard a cough" from the cat and said x rays were absolutely required. I had not come in for anything respiratory related. she then berated me telling me the problem would never be fixed unless we got the x rays, which start at 800$. I said why not try the food and if the problem persists then i'll come back. she again said I was avoiding the problem and my cats problem was 100% respiratory after "hearing one cough" i was on the facetime call and heard nothing. When i refused to do the x rays and just get the food, she put me down for a huge bag of food and many cans of wet food, for one picky eater cat. I left with one bag of the food and the problem was solved. I felt she took advantage of my youth, and how much I was willing to do to help my cat. She saw an opportunity to scam me and tried to take it. never going back.

After moving down to St. Catharines in 2010, I was in need of a vet for my dogs. When my black lab Misty passed on, the team at Martindale looked after the final details, which I was most grateful for. Since then, the Martindale staff have looked after my two dogs and provided them with the excellent standard of care. Most recently, my spaniel, a field trailer, running in competitions in Canada and the United States, became injured in a training session. Dr. McGill provided excellent care and input for a speedy healing process. This was done at a reasonable rate for the exceptional veterinary services provided.

It is long pass time I posted this review of Martindale animal clinic. I started with them in 2012 when moving to st.catharines. It been a most pleasurable experience. Meeting with and knowing Dr. McGill. My Dog was born with generic defects of the joints. Dr. McGill was always able to treat this very successfully through her life without harsh or expensive medication that did not cause harmful side effects. When I first meet Dr.McGill when my dog was 3 I asked if I could expect to have her with me till she was 10 or 12 years old. Her response was I don't see why not. She called it right. See takes time to make sure everyone that works in her clinic share her values. ( and I thank you all For everything you have done for me and alise) Now I would yo share the following. My Dog was presented to Martindale some months ago with a problem breathing. We seen Dr. Bailey I believe (sorry if I got that wrong). It was determined my dog had a ruptured tumor on her spleen. She needed surgery immediately. Dr.McGill was call on her day off. She happened to be in Toronto at the time once notified she without hesitation said she was returning immediately to preform the need surgery. She instructed her staff to prepare my dog while she was on her way. Surgery was successful tumor was benign. Without Dr. McGill years of experience and her commitment my dog would have passed that day I do believe this. Unfortunately my dog did pass some months later. This is of no felt or control of Martindale. Just old age and natural causes. Dr.McGill and her staff gave my dog the best options and care for a great quility of life. And believe me she did under the care of Martindale. It will be a said day for animals when Dr.McGill retires. Personal note to Dr.McGill here's to another 10+ Don t retire on us. I am looking forward to it. My wife was a breeder of GSD for 30 years.as such I have seen many vets and or clinics over the years. I can tell you by far Martindale is the single most superior in care and commitment in animal welfare I personally seen in my lifetime hands down. I have been going to Martindale Animal Clinic with my best friend Spanky, a Jack Russell, for 17 years! They have taken AMAZING care of him! He's 17! Just over 5 years ago we added Nala, a Boxer, to our family. There was NEVER a doubt she would also be taken care of by the wonderful staff at Martindale. Thank goodness that I did take her there as they quickly discovered how sick my girl was! Their expertise saved her life! I wish I could add a video of my Nala taken on our way to "see the girls"! She LOVES going there! As soon as we get off at the exit she is talking up a storm. The minute she walks in she can't wait to see everyone. I have heard over the years that other vets are cheaper. This may be true but I have also heard from people in the field that if your pet is ill or requires surgery there is NO WHERE better for them to be than at this clinic as they have up to date equipment and not to mention the expertise of the Doctors! Even though I have moved to Niagara Falls many years ago I will still always take my pets to these amazing people!! I have always recommended Martindale Animal Clinic to my friends and family.

For the last fifteen years, Martindale Animal Clinic, in St Catharines (Niagara Region) and its staff have provided excellent care for all of our pets . Any of the veterinarians we have dealt with at this clinic have been very compassionate and are very up-to-date on the latest animal care. I've always been confident that our pets are getting the best possible treatment. I've seen earlier comments posted regarding the cost of services. I would just like to say that those costs help the facility provide state-of-the-art equipment that optimizes the comfort of your pet's experience at the clinic. This, in turn, makes me feel more at ease as well Specifically, Dr. McGill and Dr. Williams who just recently assessed our twelve year old lab showed such warmth and were very receptive to taking the time to answer any questions I asked. I attribute our lab's good health to on-going excellent care that she has received at Martindale Animal Clinic and we hope she will continue to be with our family for many more years.

I took my cat here for the first time this month and loved all the careful special touches made throughout the design of the clinic...from the table to put my cat on to wait in the waiting room up high from the dogs to the selection of human and pet treats in the exam room, it was a great customer service experience! The staff and doctors at this clinic are very nice. HOWEVER the price you pay here is absolutely ridiculous. I switched to another vet because every single visit was so costly, and I felt like it didn't need to be...sure enough I was right. Just a couple of examples; Burrows ( ear medication )- $42 bucks at Martindale- New Vet- $ 15 dollars. Revolution Red at Martindale- $29.00 New Vet- $ 22.00. Heart Worm Test @ Martindale- $65.00 New Vet- $27.00. Fecal Test for Parasite @ Martindale- $37.00 New Vet- $19.00. These are just some examples from my files. On top of these crazy prices for the same product, they make you feel like you don't take care of your pet if you decline 1 of their suggestions. Long story short...my dog is getting the same level of care at a much lower cost elsewhere.

We just arrived to St Catharines and after calling another vet who told us 'we aren't accepting any patients' we stumbled upon this place. What a great experience! It was the middle of covid so we communicated with the doctor via Ipad from the car which was a great idea given the circumstances and our dogs need to see the vet. The clinic was super communicative and friendly. They followed up with our pup and made additional recommendations via email. We even sent them photos of her progress and the doc let us know what she thought. AMAZING. Highly recommend to any dog lovers here!

This clinic is strange , they have never hired a single man in 25 years . I actually applied several times as a veterinary assistant and they always ignore my resume. They literally told one of my friends who also applied that they do not hire males. All the staff is women starting from front desk , veterinarians , technicians to kennel assistants. the owner has a very big ego .

We took our puppy to Martindale Animal Clinic and they were incredibly well organized, professional, and caring. With COVID we were unable to go inside with our pup so they gave us an IPad so that we could see the vaccines done on camera, which made us quite reassured that our puppy was doing well (as this was our puppy's first time at the vet). The vet took wonderful care of our puppy and took the time to talk us through what was happening, explaining everything in detail, which was much appreciated. We could not recommend Martindale Animal Clinic more to anyone considering a local vet.
