So i just took my 11year old dog Cooper there for the first time on Saturday. I love that they have Saturday hours because I work and I only had to wait about a month to get in. I was transferring him from a vet closer to my house that I believe wasn't doing everything they could to make him more comfortable. My dog has heart issues, thyroid issues, lipomas everywhere, as well as a growth on his eye and some kind of cold. I'm not trying to fix my dog and make him 5 again, I just want him to be a comfy old man. So their phones went down Saturday morning around 1130, so they came out to let us know (we were in our cars in the lot due to covid precautions they put in place). The doctor came out and discussed everything with me after she saw him and then a few minutes later, they brought out Cooper with new meds all filled. They made some good recommendations and listened to my concerns about his cold and runny stuffy nose that has been going on for 6+ months. I decided to go there because a good friend has taken her animals there for years and we recently switched out cat to them for his total mouth tooth extraction, for which, they were wonderful. Dr. Stachnik is great, I'm so glad to have found her! Happy snoozy animal pics for attention.

This place is not good for your pockets!! I am a new pet owner and a new customer. The entire process was rushed, and I spent $70 more than I should have! I was told that my pet cat has fleece, when in fact she doesn't so I purchased a tube for her (which is much cheaper at other places)- but I was told it was necessary to have. I was not informed of the price until all the way at the end of the transaction.

Our kitty, Petri, of 14 years was sadly put to sleep. The staff at Ken-ton were so attentive and caring. They sent a sympathy card signed by the entire staff. What was most touching was the copy of Petri's paw prints in the card. Thank you Ken-ton. Only a week and a half later we sent Petri's litter mate, Don, there for a check up and they were understanding of our fears. They took good care of Don and he is home happy with us.

I came to this clinic back in October because my hammy was sick and they did the best they could. She died that very same day sadly, and just today I got a letter in the mail that really brightened up my day. What I’m assuming is the whole staff at the clinic sent me a written letter of condolences which really caught me off guard. I don’t normally leave reviews for anywhere I go but this was extremely nice and I appreciate their thoughts and the fact that they went an extra mile to check up.

❤️ MY LITTLE SIMBA BEAR ❤ Last Monday I went to a vet in Wheatfield who told me that my Simba had what is called a Mast Cell Tumor. This is one of the worst kinds of tumors that a cat can have and it is typically always cancerous. I asked about an antibiotic for the time being, since he has an open wound and he said he would just wait for surgery, which I found a little odd and even then the antibiotic cost about 70$. They quoted me 1300$ to remove the tumor and told me that a needle biopsy wouldn't work and refused to do one. They would only do the surgery to treat him. Needless to say my stress and anxiety level has been extremely high over the last week. Wednesday the SPCA recommended two vets, KEN-TON ANIMAL CLINIC and a vet 2 hours away in Cattaragus County who was willing to do the surgery at a fraction of the cost compared to what I was quoted in Wheatfield. I was blessed that he would do the operation, I was also quite concerned because he advised me that he would not be using fluids through the surgery, would not be administering pain medication, or antibiotics, and no follow up appointment. This made me a bit weary but for the price that he was able to do it for in my tight financial situation, and the necessity that the vet in Wheatfield made the surgery out to be I had to get it done so I was beyond grateful for this man to help me out. ❤❤ Today I had one more vet appointment, just to get a second opinion. I went to ❤ KEN-TON ANIMAL CLINIC ❤ in Tonawanda and I cannot say enough wonderful things about them!! They were completely wonderful!!! When I called to make the appointment I was so scared and upset and Emily, who I spoke to on the phone was so helpful, knowledgeable and overall very kind. She made recommendations on the vet that I should see and gave me some things to do until the appointment to keep Simba as calm and safe as possible. Today I had the appointment, right as I walked in the door I was greeted by Emily, she remembered and addressed me by name and also Simba, as soon as we walked in the door. Right away she got us into a room and ready to go. Then the vet came in and Simba, being the crazy and temperamental cat that he is was not being very cooperative. Still she took care of him and advised me that looking at it, it WAS NOT A MAST CELL TUMOR!!! The relief I felt was AMAZING!! Unfortunately it still is a tumor. Even with Simbas temper being the way it was, she still did the needle biopsy for me. I was so grateful because he was definitely not a happy kitty. About 10 minutes later she came back to my mother and I and said that the biopsy showed some infection, but all of the cells appeared to be BEGUINE!!! PTL!! However until the tumor is sent in and biopsied there is still a chance of malignant cells, but the likelihood is extremely small!!! Then she showed us the quote for surgery and instead of 1300$ it was only 423$!!!! And he will be getting all of the proper antibiotics, fluids and pain medication that he'll need for this surgery!!! Surgery is scheduled for next week Tuesday, and my baby is going to be okay and I have a huge weight of fear and anxiety lifted off of my shoulders!!! I cannot express how relived and blessed I feel today!!! If you're ever looking for a vet that really cares for your baby and is extremely reasonably priced I HIGHLY RECOMMEND KEN-TON ANIMAL CLINIC!!! I cannot thank them and speak highly enough of them!! If you are in need of a vet, especially if you're struggling with your finances but still want your baby to be taken care of with love this is the place!! ❤ THANK YOU ALL AGAIN SOOOO VERY MUCH!!! ❤ KEN-TON ANIMAL CLINIC IS A PLACE THAT CARES MORE ABOUT TAKING CARE OF YOUR FURBABIES RATHER THAN TAKING YOUR MONEY!!! In today's world that is a rare quality to find in a business and as I said before, I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY ENOUGH!!! The entire experience from the time that I walked in the door was just outstanding and I am a hard customer to please especially when it comes to my babies, but here they truly go above and beyond! ❤

My cat had a weird infection that developed overnight and was really worrying me. I called the amazing people at Hope Before Heaven to see if they could recommend a good, cost effective urgent care type clinic and they sent me to Ken-Ton. Went for a check-up and teeth cleaning estimate for two of my babies. Staff was friendly and very accommodating to each individual dogs needs. An itemized list of what was need was brought out and explained in detail and the cost wasn't ridiculous like some vets. During these tumultuous times you wait in your car and the staff remains on the phone with you throughout the entirety of the visit. Give em a call.

So, I just want to preface this by saying up until this point the entire staff has been kind, professional, and courteous. They show a genuine love for the fuzzy family members under their care, and they aren't trying to bleed the owners for every penny they have with needless tests or expenses. The only negative thing I can say is after having to say goodbye to our oldest dog, Chance, we left his remains for them to cremate and return to us. However, when the day came to pick up the ashes, after being told I can come down, I found they had just closed for a 2 hours meeting. And even after getting the attention of one of the staff, I was left outside for nearly the entire duration. I know, I could have left and come back - but I wanted my dog back. That's it. 5 seconds to give him back to me, so I could take him back home. I hope this meeting was important, because I am going to reconsider their services in the future.

This clinic is professional, no nonsense, doesn't try to oversell products and services, and are reasonably priced. Everyone there is very friendly and nonjudgmental. Last vet's office chastised us for letting our cat out. He came to us an outdoor cat, no breaking him. They get it.

We just moved into the area and found it difficult to get into a vet as many of them are not taking new clients. Luckily Ken-ton was. My fiancé and I are always weary of vets as our first one was very money driven and did not seem to care. This however is not the case at Kenton. Our dog is shy and every individual was slow and gentle with our dog. They asked all the right questions and didn’t try to overcharge or perform extra services that weren’t needed. Dr.Brown was very kind and extra slow with our shy girl. They used treats and slow movements to make sure our girl was comfortable. I was very pleased with the service we received here and we will be making this our go to vet.

Recently switched my pets over to this clinic after being unhappy with my previous vet office. WOW. This place is like a breath of fresh air. They are absolutely wonderful. Disclaimer: Pandemic Experience I decided to take my pets here as someone higher up at my local SPCA told me this is where their organization normally sends their animals. The whole curbside appointment deal is a little bit of a farce. Constantly being called up by people in the building I'm parked right in front of is awkward. It was a sad contrast from prior visits, not being able to speak face to face with the staff is a huge reduction in quality of customer experience. It's 'okay' ATM down from 'great' for me. This vet is not the cheapest in the area by far from what I've heard and I'm fine with that given its location. I do feel the prices should drop temporarily given the degradation in the customer experience, as that is what the vet industry in the US is built upon. Not sure if this curbside appointment practice is a government mandate or if this is something this vet has instituted themselves. I understand the concern for the health of the staff. I'd still recommend this vet as I've been several times pre-pandemic and they've always been good to my animals. It's up to you decide whether you're okay with curbside appointments.

It was my first visit and the experience was great. I’ve been doing research on which vet clinic to take my little man and I did the right choice. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go in with him but the service was astonishing. They do give you a call providing you updates about what is recommended for your pet. At first there was some phone troubles, but then that got resolved. It was about an hour visit & price wise it was reasonable. However, I was told one price a month prior, but then it was different today. Not a huge difference but it’s best to ask while you’re there just to make sure. Thanks for answering all the questions I had & I’m looking forward to the next visit.(ohhh they also provide you a kit for your furry friend, very informative flyers!)

Excellent service and table side manner. July 12, 2021. On June 7, 2021 I called KenTon vet requesting an emergency visit for Odie de Meowster, my cat who was showing signs of illness. He was seen that day by Dr. Stashnik who took his case. At that time little did I know what lies ahead. Many visits, surgery, two hospital stays, medication and the love and compassion of Dr. Stashnik and the team got both Odie and I threw this difficult time. Eventhough I was losing hope for a good outcome, Dr. Stashnik did everything within her power to help Odie. I can not say enough about her concern, encouragement, her excellent care and advise she gave me for that best possible outcome. Today Odie was cleared as a healthy cat. I can never thank Dr. Stashnik enough for going above and beyond the care and treatment she gave Odie. Thank you to the staff for your kindness as well.

Yesterday I had my 14 year old Bengal cat euthanized because of liver failure. The entire staff was very compassionate and kind. The vet explained the treatment options that would be extremely costly and probably wouldn’t work. Even though I would have liked to bring her home to die the vet helped me realized how painful that would be for her. As difficult as it was I knew I made the right decision.

We took our cat here for a second opinion, and we loved it here! The staff was very friendly and informative. The last vet we went to charged us $800 for multiple tests and medications, and we didn't get any answers to what was wrong...we went to Ken-ton and the doctor was able to tell us what was wrong in one visit and for A LOT cheaper. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and we will definitely be going back!

I’m so thankful that we found Ken-Ton Animal Clinic! We’ve been taking our two dogs (Rex & Reagan both 7 years old & little over 60#) here for over a year and they are always honest, consistent & more affordable than other offices. They answer allll of my questions on the phone and in person, they are quick to respond if you leave a message and it is super easy to schedule an appointment. You may have to wait a week or so but you can also call back to see if there has been any cancellations. They also did my dogs CCL Surgery which was a very stressful time but we couldn’t be happier with the results and how they cared for him. One of the employees also went above and beyond to help us outline a schedule for our dogs shots/well visits etc so we could manage our time efficiently and cut some of the cost down in doing so. Highly recommend!!

I called friday morning and they were able to get me in in 45 mins. They gave me enough time to drive from east Aurora. They greeted us at the door knowing my dogs name and knowing she got hit by a car. Dr gave me worse case scenario, etc...did xrays, pushed my dogs bladder back in her abdomen. 3 days later my baby is eating,drinking, and partially walking. What great staff and dr! I highly recommend!!!!;

I picked up a refill for my cat’s prescription and politely requested that the pills be cut in half. The individual in the back made a snarky remark “I knew that was coming.” The receptionist checked to confirm that the pills were cut and said I was all set. When I got home I checked the pills and they were not cut. I am in disbelief that this associate had the nerve to lie to my face like that. Makes me question whether to trust my pets health in their hands.

I brought my three year old Great Dane to be spayed. On my way to pick her up I received a call from the Doctor that she had died. When I got to the clinic I asked what had happened and the only answer I received was “I don’t know”. No reason was ever given as to what had happened. All I heard over and over was “i don’t know”.I asked to have an autopsy done so we had answers. I was told I could have the body and go to Cornell university to have one done but he would not do the autopsy. Big dog owners be careful.

Wonderful! I took my baby here to get his teeth pulled and had a great experience. Both times I came here they greeted my dog by name and didnt get annoyed when he acted out (he really looooves to bark). The procedure was less than half of what my old vet charged and they are so sweet and care about my dog so much! I brought him home after the surgery and he seemed like his normal self and I am so happy I made the decision to go here and I will continue to go here for the rest of my dogs life

My personal opinion was not good at all. My first cat that I took there I had to pur down a few weeks later, in my opinion due to there lack of care, I thought, the maybe I'm in pain, let me give them another chance. I took my second cat and purchased a flea color that was so tight it ended up peeling his neck to the skin, when I took her back to show them and request care for the problem alone with my money back the doctor had no empathy for the list of my previous cat and stated arrogantly, we can give you your money, we will get it back from the company. As, we are not going to lose money, rather then, I'm sorry you current cat may be in pain, please accept our apology and let's take care of this. Bottom line I will never recommend that place. I normally don't right bad reviews unless I feel the situation merits it.

Used to be Brighton Eggert Animal Clinic, before they split and moved down Eggert. One of the two founders of BE Clinic, Dr. Freyburger, kept the original building and restarted a smaller, reasonably priced practice. Covid protocol has you wait in your car, call them from the parking lot and they come to your car, take your animal in. At the end of the visit, they bring your animal back to you, discuss any issues and you pay. They take in your card, run ir through, and bring it back with your receipt. Done. I like the staff and feel loyalty to Dr. Freyburger since I went to him in the early 80's before it got very expensive and overcrowded with multiple vets. Fewer vets mean continuity of care and Ken-Ton's prices are now better since Brighton Eggert moved away. I also have read that Ken-Ton is helpful with the feral cat rescue orgs in the area. It means they care and arent out to make a million bucks off of you personally. I like and appreciate that.

Dr Chris Brown spared my 7 yr old Bernese from an unnecessary CCL cruciate surgery. I wanted a 2nd (and 3rd) opinion and was referred to Ken Ton by a neighbor who also has a Bernese. My dog was reevaluated at the last minute under anesthesia and Dr Brown felt it wasn't the course of action my dog needed. Definitely saved putting my dog through a lot of pain and recovery time.

I had my cat for 17 years, his health took a quick turn and i had to make the choice to spare him suffering. I spent the morning in tears and panic calling around. Our normal vet was booked up and suggested I called back in 2 days, a few other vets were booked and suggested i use the emergency vet ( which would have put a large financial burden on my family) i called ken-ton animal clinic. Having never been there before i was so surprised at how acomitaing they were. They were very kind on the phone explained everything in detail and got me right in. They truly cared about me and my cat and in our worst day together they really made a difference. In the whole process and after they took extra time and efforts into easing the pain of losing a furry loved one. I do not have enough words to express how wonderful this clinic is.

This place is amazing! We have seen DVM Freyburger both times we have been here and have no complaints. We took our Furbaby to a 24 hour animal clinic on Grand Island where we live. The people were nice there just tried to charge us over 1100.00 for blood work and scans to figure out what was ailing our poor little guy. We had the blood work done, they came back to inform us they would have to sedate our son because he would not hold still during the scan. This raised the bill another 300.00 from the original estimate they previously gave us. I asked for our son so we could cash out and leave. My Husband brought our Son to his Vet today at Ken-Ton. Vets simple explanation after checking over the blood work that was done to our son last night, taking his temperature, and feeling around his belly; Our son is simply sick, just to feed him lightly. As for the loss of his fur, just another allergy. Only 104.00 compared to the 400 (would have been 1100.00) we spent with other people trying to figure out what was wrong with him. Freyburger also recommended a different 24 hour animal Hospitol we will be going to instead pf the one close to our house. I feel places try to take advantage of people who love their dogs the way we do. Like a bad mechanic that knows you know nothing about vehicles.

I loved Dr Jennifer Stachnik but the Dr that operated on my dog felt it was my fault for him removing a wrong area on my dogs back I could go on and on but I won’t. After going back and forth with Lisa I decided I didn’t trust them anymore and asked for my dogs and 2 of my cats records to be sent to another hospital for their appointment. Well they decided to delete all my pets records off the vet source site . So now I can’t take my cats to a clinic for shots because I don’t know what and when they need it . This is very unprofessional. I did not ask for all my pets records to be sent somewhere only the ones I named. When I changed my family physician they didn’t delete the records on my medical records I can still view them . I’m basically tired of fighting with Lisa I didn’t bad mouth them but I am getting very frustrated now and decided to write this .

Awfull, brought my wife's cat in to be euthanized for obvious reasons and the staff decided to shave her leaving her with nicks and cuts all over. The cat didn't like her back touched and I know it was very painful for her to go thru that. Then they sent her home with us after a $250 bill. 2 days later we went back and the vet tried to tell us that we need to realize her quality of life needs to be considered.....no kidding? ...we tried putting her down days ago but the staff seemed to think they could milk $250 more out of us. Haven't been back. Did I just read a answer to a review from Lisa stating the client should try buying on-line medications? Everyone knows those companies send out old,expired and opened medications. My Vet refuses to sent scripts to any on-line pharmacy. They often advise me on how and where to go for more affordable meds when they know there are better prices elsewhere. Up date after review was answered. My names not in your records but my wife's madian name is. What I said happened, happened. This being 2021 doesn't give the all clear to buy and give expired,opened mediation to our pets.

We brought our 2 and a half year old cat in on a Monday, because he wasn't eating as much as usual and losing weight. They did bloodwork and he was diagnosed with kidney failure. They gave him an antibiotic (Convenia), some fluids under his skin, we bought renal diet food, and they sent his culture to the University of Michigan. Over the next 2 days he went downhill, on Wednesday we called and told them and they had us come back and they gave us an appetite stimulant and gave us IV fluids for us to inject under his skin at home. On Saturday I went back in because he was still not any better, and to see if the results were back from the University of Michigan. I met with a vet who had never seen our cat, and she said the first antibiotic wasn't the one he needed, but from the culture results they had the correct ones to give him. But since he wasn't getting any better, we could try the new antibiotics, but she suggested putting him down. On the next Monday we took him to a new vet for a second opinion, one if the first questions he asked was "why was he given Convenia?". They admitted him immediately for 72 hours of continuous IV fluids. We went home and researched "Convenia" and it stated USED FOR SKIN INFECTIONS AND NOT TO BE GIVEN TO CATS AND DOGS WITH KIDNEY DISEASE. Sadly our cat had to be put to sleep 6 days later. We went back to Ken Ton and asked to speak directly to the owner, Dr Freyberger, because we had a few questions. First was why was our cat given an antibiotic for skin infections, and it said not to be given to cats with kidney disease. Dr. Freyberger laughed and said "have you ever seen commercial with drugs and the side effects of those drugs?". My husband told Dr Freyberger he didn't appreciate him laughing while we are discussing our deceased cat. We still didn't get an answer. Our second question was why was our cat not admitted or treated more aggressively from the beginning if he was sick? Dr. Freyberger again didn't give us an answer. The whole time he was very uncaring and unsympathetic. We were very upset with the way our cat was not treated more aggressively, and then the lack of answers we got, and the way the owner showed no compassion. We also put a review on KenTons Facebook page and it was deleted immediately, apparently they pick and choose their reviews. Rebuttal: **We still never got an answer why Convenia (for use in skin infections) was used, we knew on day 1 that our cat had kidney disease and the Convenia insert says NOT TO BE GIVEN TO CAT OR DOGS WITH KIDNEY DISEASE. That can be found in the veteranary medical encyclopedia. He got much worse after receiving this injection. **You stated we refused hospitalization due to financial issues, if that were true, why did we take him for a second opinion as spend nearly $1,000. **you state our second opinion vet never requested medical records....FALSE, would you like me to take pictures of what was faxed over? **One week after being diagnosed with kidney disease, Dr Marky called with the results of the cultures and said we could start new antibiotics if we wanted and never mentioned euthanasia. I don't appreciate you making us out to be liars, and I find it comical you sent us a summary letter and end it saying you don't want us as customers anymore!

I never leave reviews but I took my dog Indy here about a year ago whem she became extremely sick over night and they saw her right away the day i call and did evertthing they could for a lot cheaper then I expected, the whole staff was really nice, and did acually care. When u was able to finally get another dog there was no question to where ill be taking him. Never again.Took an elderly cat 21 years old to be put down.That was September of 2018.She was given the 2nd shot to put her down too soon and we saw the results.I was hopeful that was a mistake.We came back with a sick quaker parrot around end of March 2019.He made it through exam and was taking meds seeming to slowly get better.On his followup on April 2nd he once again made it through the exam.A tech named Lisa dropped a blanket and stooped to get it with him in her other hand.The next thing I know my bird is dying I'm hysterical my Daughter is losing it.The tech goes in back and my bird died amongst strangers!!!!!! The doctor is great however it’s a tossup with the receptionists and the people who come and get your pet. Sometimes they are not nice sometimes they are nice sometimes they are in a bad mood which kind of worries me. I just wish they were 100% nice across-the-board. It’s like 50-50 with them. Some our assistants that are taking care of your pet so I wish they were more compassionate and just in a better mood all around. It almost makes you want to go somewhere else. Last three times there, not so nice. They really need to be more caring and compassionate

Where do I start? Well, I took my pups here because they were supposedly reasonable and provided good care. They were at first but something must have changed because my family and myself no longer experienced that. First, the staff and doctors seem pretty laxed and not detail oriented. I’ve paid their $50 “examination fee” and half the time they didn’t even take a temperature. They literally listened with a stethoscope, felt around with their hands and that’s it. Recently I took in a stray. I brought him in for an exam and shots. As the doctor was feeling around she said “Oh I just saw a flea!”. Immediately started pushing their brand of choice for purchase of flea treatment for all 3 of my dogs even though 2 of them were on prevention. I checked him 5 times when I got home. Even with a comb. Not one flea. I let that go as I could have missed one somehow but still leaves an uneasy feeling. They also confused me and I think themselves with heart worm prevention. I was told to put him on the meds. I did and AFTER they wanted to test for heart worm? They didn’t know he was on it although they told me to administer it. That wasn’t the worst though... My second last visit, I was sitting in the exam room and overheard the techs talking outside the door. Clear as day I heard one say to the other “The pets are sweet but I don’t like the owner.” Not sure who that was about but hardly professional. Last visit my other pup had a UTI or so I was told. My dog was going frequently and having accidents. They casually sold me a script and I followed their instructions. I was told I would see an improvement in a matter of a couple days. Not the case. I called back after a week and explained not much improved at all. I was told to wait until the medication was done. Well, next day my pup was shaking, couldn’t go the bathroom and wouldn’t eat or drink. This was on the 4th so I had to take her to the ER. The vet there explained that the script I was given was pretty weak and not of choice. They gave me a better script and said to take her to KenTon if anything did not improve. Today her suffering continued. I immediately called KenTon asking to urgently speak with a doctor. I was told I would receive a call back. Hours went by and no call. I called again and was told the same thing. FIVE HOURS later I got a call. By then I made an appointment with a different vet and will be going there from now on. Lastly I asked to have my pets records emailed to me to provide to the new vet. “I’ll send those over right away no problem!” Guess what. Never got them....Something has changed since this place opened, they seem more opportunistic and less concerned at the well being of my pets. That’s the impression I have... Ok. rebuttal to the reply.... Molly was not eating for the second day, was shaking and lethargic . She was panting constantly. She could not make a bowel movement and had no control of her urine. This was an emergency. When I called and expressed this concern I was blown off for 5 hours. This is protocol? Wait another week without eating or relief?? TO THIS DAY, I have still not received an email of my pets records. Must be quite a “glitch”. My new vet had to call to have them sent over. For my dog Artie, again, kind of coincidental that the doctor “spotted A flea” (not an infestation). I thought of all of this after the fact of being wrapped up in the idea of my house being infested.....Did she show me the flea(s)? No. Did she go over him with a comb? No. She immediately started pushing to buy the treatment that is sold there for all three of my dogs despite the other two being on preventative care. I checked 5 times with a comb when I got home. Not one flea. Finally, I know what I heard. It is extremely unprofessional for an employee to speak ill of a customer within earshot of another customer. It was literally outside the door of the examination room.
