We offer you the information of real people who know the services of Green Acres Veterinary Center (Veterinarian) in the area of Niagara Falls (Canada).
To this day this firm has a rating of 3.7 over 5 and this rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is quite positive, and it's founded on a large number of opinions, so we may conclude that the assessment is quite credible. If people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is included in the category of Animal hospital.
They took great care of my dog when we had a mild scare with him.
Very poorly ran facility My puppy had a allergic reaction to a medicine that was given to him. Called them to notify them to be told that it's not possible because no one else's pet has ever had a reaction. The attending vet was very unprofessional in explaining the process. Repeated herself multiple times. Listened to her babble for way too many mins. They did not send our primary vet his records as they said they would. Needless to say, puppy went through surgery next morning by his primary. And is recovering well....thanks goodness it was not done by this facility.
Seems to be a nice establishment, we have only been here once but there was an hour wait for our vet appointment. We were told that it was an extra busy night. Not many instructions were given with the meds and treatment prescribed but when I called the following day, the woman I spoke with was very kind and clear on the directions for treatment.
We have used this emergency vet for all our emergencies with both our huskies and they are wonderful
We had to take our dog in for an emergency (which he passed) but from walk in until passing, they were attentive and caring. Made sure he was comfortable and did a great job providing a paw print casting for us to pick up the next day.
My dog that has an anxiety disorder and heart murmur is constantly having to wait outside because they take their time. They also don't care how scared your animal is. They'll do whatever they have to do, to get whatever done. And will make you & your pet wait if your any sort of annoyance to them.
We were on vacation to Niagara Falls, when my 12 week old puppy came down with a serious, life threatening infection. The vets here were so communicative, so caring, and saved my pup. I cannot recommend them enough!
Realized it was a "holiday" and many places were closed but to pay what we paid to have our dog sit there for over 8 hours before receiving treatment for a neck wound was nerve wracking to say the least. Updates were only given when I called them. Over estimating- which has to still be paid up front - to then knock off hundreds of dollars in an attempt to make people "feel better" it didn't cost "as much as expected" is a tactic that needs to go away. Realistically- who in WNY has thousands of expendable dollars? Payment plans should be OFFERED at the beginning- take our card number and schedule reasonable monthly payments. They had a $2,800 estimate and smile as they ask you to "just put your card here...." My dog was cared for - eventually - and the care was exceptional and thorough, I just worry that many won't even consider taking their beloved pets because it can cost thousands of dollars most of us do not have. The DNR option if you won't sign off on the $750 fee "if needed" was a nice touch as he's being taken away too.
Very pricey, was a customer for many years, yes I understand that they need to pay for the new palace just built and due to open soon.i know there are other quality vets in the area.
everyone was very calm and patient and answered all my questions!
If you go there for an emergency be prepared for at least a $1000+ bill
If I could Give a Lower score I would. $$Money $$ is all Their Northtown Emergency Clinic is interested in. Called tonight because my sisters kitty was ill. They told us the price for office visit $95.00, Blood lab- about $200+, ex-ray $150. Which was reasonable being it was an after hour emergency. As we were walking out the door some Snippy, Nasty Brianna calls and says...I spoke with the Doctor and we are going to keep your cat overnight to observe and give IV if necessary at an additional cost of $800. My sister said no, I am not going to do that. I want the Vet to examine my cat, give diagnoses, meds, etc and she will monitor from home. (unless Surgery is necessary that would be a different story) my sisters exact words. Brianna continued to tell my sister that it was pointless to bring the cat in if not going to keep overnight. My sister in turn says..You have Not even examined my cat, I have no diagnoses or treatment how can you insist he stay overnight at an additional cost of $800. What if I only had $500. Brianna then says "You know, Most People would have already had their pet here" My sister immediately told her. She will Never get her business and hung up. I had a similar experience back in February with my diabetic cat, and once about a year ago, but told my sister maybe the person I delt with was having an off night. That is Not the case. Brianna is a Nasty, ignorant Unprofessional witch and should Not be in the profession where she has to interact with people and appears to only try to milk more money from you before you even walk in the door. I would never bring a pet there. I wish Everyone that has had a vad experience with this Vets office would Give a review so that people can be warned.
We brought our dog, Maggie to the Emergency Room at Green Acres. I want to make a public thank you and recommendation to the wonderful staff and doctors here. Thank you for the care and kindness the entire staff at the Emergency Room gave my dog Maggie, who was critically ill and is now doing better. I was very impressed with Colin at the front desk and every one of the doctors and techs who lovingly cared for her. We cannot thank you enough. The treatment plan and excellent care of Maggie helped her recover, thank goodness. We appreciate the kindness shown towards my husband and I in such a stressful and worrisome situation. We will never forget you all!
This was my first time visiting the new facility. It was very clean and things ran very smoothly. I was in and out quickly for my dog's appointment. Everyone was very kind and friendly, I felt very comfortable with my dog in their hands.
Clean welcoming facility, brief intake, doctor and techs moved our visit along very quickly. In a veterinary emergency I truly appreciated the compassionate and caring staff
Having pet issues? If you take them here, be prepared to wait AT LEAST 6-8 hours. They tell you to bring them in. You will wait 2 hours in the parking lot just to get your pet in the door. Then it’s another 2-3 hours before they contact you. Then it’s another 2s until the vet calls. Then it’s another 2 hours for them to figure out what they want to do. At this point, be prepared for sticker shock. $800 for bloodwork and an x-ray. They will also want to hold them overnight to “watch” them. That’s another $1,600 just for them to peep at it once an hour. After that, it’s 2 hours before they ask for payment. Then another 2 hours until they say your pet is ready. Then another 2 hours until they bring your pet to the door. Exceptionally poor service. This Veterinary group ought to be closed up.
Green acres saved my dog's life after she was attacked by a newer dog in my household. Green acres was the only animal hospital open at the time, and i'm glad they were! They saved her, and I found out how great they are overall! I have since switched veterinarians and will be going to them from now on.
Green Acres Animal Hospital provided excellent service, everything is curbside pickup and is reasonably priced for pet care.
Staff is awesome. Just wish that vetting wasn't so expensive. The kindness of the staff is amazing. Definitely wish they had payment plans. My girl is no where out of the woods, but they did their best to help her be more comfortable.
I have taken my dog here twice. Once for emergency and once for a regular appointment. My 2 yr old labradoodle had to spend 2 nights in the er which is understandable why the visit would be expensive but when I took her in for a yearly visit I was shocked at the prices. I expected it to be slightly pricy as she was due for a few shots and a heart worm test but the price was insanely high. Also, the doctor said that she was too nervous to get a good look in her ears which I was concerned about as I’ve had dogs with ear issues in the past. They were able to clip her nails but not look in her ear? That makes no sense to me as she hates to have her nails done. I was also told that the results for her blood work would take 30 mins. I had to call 3 times and I was placed on hold each time for at least 10 mins just to be told that the doctor was too busy to talk to me about the bloodwork which was completely normal in the end and would’ve only taken 2 mins. They also tried to up the price by suggesting deworming her again which cost a pretty penny. There is nothing to suggest that she has worms and then when I said I didn’t want to do that I felt judged by whoever was ringing me up. I did not have $750 to spend for a regular vet check up and some heart worm and tick meds. Eventually I got the price down but I still feel that the services are overpriced and the communication is severely lacking.
The staff is very nice, but clearly overwhelmed. I can never call and get taken care of without a fifteen minute hold and most recently called to have my pet’s food prescription refilled. I called at 7:45 and their normal office hours end at 8:00. I was placed on hold for 20 minutes, at which point I was informed they were closed and I could not come and get the food. This was the most recent in a long string of perplexing issues I’ve had in dealing with Green Acres and I’m ready to take my pets elsewhere at this point.
TOOK good care of my dog but feel extremely taken advantage of with the price. My dog was attacked by another dog on a Saturday night. The price they charged for care and medication was triple what our personal vet would've charged.
We feel our pets receive good, quality care from professionals that care about the animals. The price of services may be a bit higher than others but the personal follow ups by the doctors themselves and the assistance and understanding of the staff makes the difference.
This was back in 2009 or so, but I tell everyone this story to make sure they think twice about this place. My dog was having an issue choking on something and he seemed to also be having trouble going to the bathroom so I took him for a visit. The doctor wanted an x-ray and quickly determined there was some sort of blockage in his digestive tract and wanted to immediately move forward with surgery. $3,000+ surgery. I found this alarming and pressed them as to why we needed to jump to that so quickly and the doctor suddenly was doing the "Uh, well, ummm..." routine and I asked if there was anything else we should at least try before resorting to splitting him open. Like magic, a $35 shot of barium was suggested and gee whizz, that did the trick. My dog was fine and dandy and had a follow up the next day clearing him. If I hadn't pushed this woman to start at the start of the problem, she would have gladly boned me out of 3K for no reason other than to make some cash. My dog is now coming up on 16 and is still in great shape and is happy seeing another vet who is more into caring for animals and not bullshitting patients and trying to dupe them into unnecessary surgery. The only regret I have is not filing an official complaint back then, but at the time I was happy enough to have my healthy buddy and the knowledge he'd never be going back there again.
The overall rating for this clinic speaks for itself. I'm very disappointed. My dog lost use of one and then both of her hind legs out of nowhere and we took her in to Green Acres. Dr Parkhill had x-rays but no blood test ordered- that seemed odd. We were told it is likely that it is her fat pad (??) in her knee and could require surgery. Since my cousin overseas is also a vet we went back the next day and asked for a copy of the x-rays and the patient records, which they readily provided; HOWEVER, they only provided one x-ray but charged for two... they "accidentally" billed us twice for one x-ray and only made it right when we pointed it out. Also, the patient records are hand written in chicken scratch and barely legible. Seriously, my cousin lives in Eastern Europe where even they have all of their patient records typed up. Lastly, what the hell are "fat pads" are beyond him and my other medical friends. Provided the condition she is in it seems to be spinal abscess than anything with her knees. This seems like a money grabbing opportunity with a hasty diagnosis, taking advantage of pet owners who only want their pets to get better. Given the other reviews I read here with emergency/more complicated situations our experience here is sadly not much different compared to the other subpar experiences.
The doctors here are fantastic and very caring about my dogs' health. The practice is struggling with timing because of covid, so allow for a little extra time with your appointment. They are doing a great job of keeping people safe but it seems to slow things down a little.
The worst emergency hospital ever and that’s an understatement! We took our kitten Happy in on 10/29 because she had high fever. They were only proactive about paying upfront and cared only about the money. After checking out Happy they completely forgot to give us the antibiotics that they billed us for. We had to remind them to give the meds to us We called them again on 10/30 because as per the prescription printed on the antibiotic bottle we should be giving happy 2 doses per day for 8 days but the number of tablets given can only suffice for 4 days. Valerie and her supervisor were extremely inconsiderate about this whole situation. At first she wouldn’t agree that we were given less tablets and after patiently explaining her she put us on hold and told us “There was some issue with the computer, instead of 2 doses just give her 1 dose now”. Forgetting to give medicines or making a mistake and giving us less tablets is still understandable but WRONG DOSE is not. We overdosed our poor kitten who’s had high fever because of some issues with the computer! Valerie’s supervisor took no responsibility at all either. If we had not called, their mistake would have costed Happy with 4 days of overdoses! I’ve seen ample bad reviews about their unprofessionalism and they just have the same template format reply for all the blunders they’ve made. In short I wouldn’t recommend this place for any pet owners
I've called once if not twice with an emergency and they never call back. I guess they only take walk ins. Also not sure if this is the same place that almost let our family dog die. Full payment up front. Guess it's not about saving lives it's just about lining pockets? Won't be trying this place again. I'm happy my kitty has pulled through but upset I had to stay up all night and hope since no one else was open.
The care we received from Dr. Cody Howard was unbelievable. He was so patient, kind, and took the time to explain everything. I had never been here before, and was a bit nervous. This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a vet. I’m sad he’s only an emergency vet because I would want my pets to see him all the time! Thank you for the outstanding service. We appreciate it more than you know.
I couldn't have asked for better care of my pet. A very stressful situation was made bearable with all of the amazing staff at the facility. I felt confident that my baby was getting the best care possible at the facility and her remains were returned to me in a loving manner. They even tried to get a nose print upon my request. I truly thank them! The care that was shown to me when my pet died. Everyone was wonderful and went out of their way to console and comfort me.
Do not take your pets here. They only care about the money. I was charged almost $200 before I could even get my dog in the door. I waited outside in my car with my dog for over an hour. They said it would be a 7 hour wait to get my dog checked. He had been sick so I had no choice but to sit there. I eventually figured this was taking too long so i called in for my money back & figured i would wait through the night and take him to his regular vet. Well as soon as i asked for my money back they miraculously were "just coming out to get me". Only for them to cage my dog for another 2 hours without being seen yet. At this point i went off and asked for my money and my dog and left. This place is horrible! Would not recommend. If i could give 0 stars i would.
Started going here when my cat got sick over a holiday weekend. New to the area, I called every clinic in town...no luck. Green Acres told me they were booked but if I wanted to come and sit in the waiting room until one of the Veterinarians had a chance to see my cat, they would make sure she would be seen on that day! The Doctors here are very compassionate. Dr. Parkhill is wonderful with my cats and explains everything in layman's terms. You can tell the clerical staff love animals by the way they interact as soon as you walk through the door.
Excellent care for my animals. Dr B explained everything thoroughly, and what to expect. He updated me personally several times while my cat was in post surgery recovery. Can be a little expensive compared to other places, but the personal touch will keep me coming back.
Everyone was kind and very thorough. They all took the time to answer any questions and explain things. The whole staff was welcoming, kind and made themselves available for checking in, questions and/or concerns. They were very attentive. I am planning to use them as my cat's regular vet based on my experience, even though I live a bit of a distance away.
One star is way too much for my experience with this clinic. Earlier this summer I had to take my dog in to get emergency care as she got very ill very quickly. I was told by another emergency center to go here as they were not able to take anymore pets that night. When I went to check her in they demanded money up front for no services provided. I tried to question them but was unable to get an answer and my pet was ill and in need of care. When asked for a receipt for the non service money I paid up front they refused to give me one. I did demand to get a receipt from them and after asking a bunch of times I got one. I asked multiple times to have someone to triage my dog which I kept being told no. Eventually, after asking many times someone did come out. Last major issue was towards the end of the visit I was told she had a wound that needed to be lanced and I questioned this and asked someone to show it to me as I did not see anything. They brought her out and kept calling her another pets name and two staff members were about to have me pay for and give me another animals records and hospital bill. This was not an accidental act of someone misspeaking but they miss id the animal. They are so very concerned about money that medical care is pushed to the side. Personally, I feel that putting money and not care first is animal cruelty. I have made sure anyone I know who has a pet knows what happened at this place of business. I wanted to write this review because I don’t want to see anyone’s pet treated like this. Thanks to my own vet the next day my dog was able to receive good care and is better now. Thank god.
Avoid this place at all cost. Honestly, I really wish I had something good to say about them. During my emergency visit with my husky they were terrible, not only is their communication horrible but their way of doing things is also. Oh wait outside in the sun you cannot go anywhere. They told me the tests were going to show if my dog was positive for worms and then later they said it doesn’t. A couple days later a complete different person said that it does show it and it take a few days to get the results. They overcharged me for food I didn’t ask for. I had to dispute the charge because the service was so bad. They also refused to sell me food they gave me for him until I spoke to a second person and then they did lol. Now I’m trying to get records of that visit and they keep “sending” the email but I got nothing. Avoid avoid AVOID
We will forever be indebted to you for saving out kitten's life. If we weren't able to bring her to you for care late in the day on a holiday she would certainly have died. Your staff was very caring and empathetic and your team very responsive when we called for updates. Services were a little expensive to be sure and didn't love the late night call about the latest charge which I just learned about in the evening and planned to make first thing in the morning, but the result was very good.
After over 20 years (And 6 pets) of being a dedicated customer, I’m sad to say it’s time for us to leave Green Acres. Dr. Bernat is absolutely wonderful, almost a saint to us but after the last decade of reading reviews, seeing and hearing criticism of them being too expensive (and their partnership with the also reputably-expensive Northtown Emergency), we’re driving 40 minutes away to seek care from another vet. We scheduled a teeth cleaning for our dog a week prior but only quoted after waiting nearly an hour in my car, even after showing up at the agreed drop off time, and was just quoted north of $1400 (Up to 2100) for a teeth cleaning on my 7 YO, because of her age. For which I was on the phone a total of 50 minutes (40 min on hold). It’s not “because of her age” because I foolishly paid $1200 just a year and a half ago and thought “that seems a bit high.” It’s a day and age where vet services at some places are setup to really gouge under the guise of proactive and cautionary care. Having said that, this rating is 2 stars because Dr. Bernat gets 5 stars and the business model gets -3 stars. I will truly miss Dr. Bernat. It honestly makes me sad. I understand valuing great service and care, paying for quality and she is all of that and a wonderful human, but even with the decent but honest income that I earn I can’t image many others can afford the prices that Green Acres and NorthTowns charges. I can’t. At least Northtowns is emergency care, so I don’t know how Green Acres justifies their rates.
They brought my cat out with the bill. Didn’t even do the procedure they said they would or give him the medicine that we already paid for. We Waited over an hour in the parking lot to be taken care of while people who got here after us were taken in. They said there was a “miscommunication” and they “couldn’t get ahold of me”. My cars right outside the door, if there’s a problem, come outside and ask?
Clean and friendly environment. Knowledgeable staff. I greatly appreciated that even though there was going to be a wait for her to be examined and treated, they took my dog asap and gave her pain meds as she had fallen down the stairs and was in obvious distress.
We used the emergency vet services, and appreciate how quickly, efficiently, and effectively you helped to assess and diagnose our elderly kitty's injury... which in turn helped to ease our worry. Thank you! What I appreciate most is how easy you made the process, and how well you communicated to us what was going on, each step of the way.
Our first experience with Green Acres was an unfortunately sad one when we brought our cat in and he needed to be put down. Dr. Biesinger was wonderful through the whole process. He explained everything, gave us our options and gave us time. He was very thorough and compassionate. After that experience we now bring all of our animals to Green Acres. Dr. Parkhill performed life saving surgery on our older dog. She was amazing from diagnosis right through recovery and follow up. We brought our rescue kitten in for all of his check ups and shots. We recently adopted a rescue pup and we have brought him in for all of his necessary check ups and vaccinations and again have had nothing but wonderful encounters with the entire staff. Every person I've talked to and worked with has been friendly, informative and helpful.
My dog Pink had life saving surgery performed by Dr Bernat two times in 1 year. The first surgery was to find a foreigne object in her tummy, and the second surgery was for the same thing + a perforated intestine. A year earlier our dog had part of her ear bit by another dog and Dr Bernart fixed her ear and did a great job - it healed nicely. Our other dog Arnold had a small tumor removed from his side & his teeth cleaned. We feel as though we have a parking spot here (we have spent a lot of money to take care of our dogs). The facility is convient. I can only imagine that operating a 24 hours a day operation is EXPENSIVE. Everything is very clean and organized. Also, the people who are taking care of your dogs are professionals, including board certified animal surgeons. Because it's 24 hours if your dog needs to be boarded over night a full staff is working. Not 1-2 people. The estimates we were given were all fair & they always quote on the high end. I would highly recommend this facility. If you are looking to save money take a drive an hour out into the country. If you want to have a vet you can build a relationship with who you can also trust, that will give your best friend the medical care they need in an unforeseen circumstance, you have found your animal hospital at Green Acers. ....Also I just had a check up for my dog, and I left paying $112 for three vaccines & a deworming. I am not sure how a review can state "I never leave here paying less then $300".
The staff was so nice, kind, and professional. I also appreciated how quickly my dog was seen. Would definitely recommend
They are the most compassionate, friendly and caring staff for your Furry babies. Western New York is lucky to have such a place. Thank You for all you do.
Went to 2 other vets that couldn't diagnose my cat had urinary crystals. He almost died. This place was open early during Covid-19 and saved him. Robbie says "Thank you ????????⬛"
We’ve been looking for a new vet and figured I’d try this place since it’s closest to home. We weren’t disappointed at all! Didn’t have to wait 3 months for an appointment like other places. Quick check in. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. The new building looks awesome. Excited that we chose this place!
We've been going to the vet clinic for many years. We like the level of care our pets receive. Everyone is kind as well. ????
I am sorry, but I have to update my review from recent experiences over the past year. Experiences that are inexcusable even with a pandemic. What I will say is that Dr. Bernat and Dr. Parkhill are great Doctors. Other than that, the office is not run very well.
Beware of Green Acres Animal Hospital: We had an awful experience at Green Acres Animal Hospital. Unfortunately a family member had to take her dog there because our normal vet did not have the staff and it was an emergency. Her dog was basically paralyzed in his back legs. With COVID, no one can go in so everything is done over the phone. Obviously X-rays needed to be done. We were first quoted well over $2,000 to keep him overnight. Plan B was $1600. He received X-rays (nothing broken). The quote was never detailed over the phone with what was being paid for. I was told the doctors don’t do that. Euthanasia was discussed because of the dogs age and weight. So we left Green Acres with the dog, no answers and a bag full of meds. The $1650 was paid over the phone and no detailed invoice was given at pick up. Fast forward..... the dog was not better the next day. We had our vet get the records from Green Acres and they decided immediately that he should be euthanized. Because he couldn’t move, we chose to have a vet come to the home for euthanasia. I called Green Acres to get an itemized bill to see what all the charges were. ER visit $110, Radiograph $173.61, Radiology set up $118.70 (not sure what that means), comprehensive wellness canine $424.52, med injections $286.43 and take home meds $530. $530 IN TAKE HOME MEDS FOR A DOG THAT THEY SAID “discussed that due to size and age of pet he may or may not recover from this.” So we now have 155 dog muscle relaxers, 25 anti inflammatories and 58 antibiotics. I called to talk about this bill and how it was possible to give so many medications to a dog that most likely would not get better. I spoke to a few different people and they had an answer for everything I brought up. You can tell they have to defend themselves a lot. At one point they said because they are a small office, they have to dispense medications that way. I don’t understand how it is a small office when they’re building an addition 4 times the building they have now. They agreed to refund the meds that were in a silver package and unopened but we could not return the muscle relaxers or anti-inflammatories. We would do anything for our furbabies but I will not let a business take advantage of people when they are already in a fragile state. If these people told my family member to sell her house to save her dog, she would have. Yes, the amount was agreed upon but was not explained what the price was made up of and definitely wasn’t told it would be $530 in take home meds. That’s ridiculous. They make you feel guilty telling them you don’t have thousands of dollars to spend. I wish i had read the reviews before we went here because many people say the same thing, but like i said, it was an emergency and i like to think that a vet hospital where we take our sick pets would not take advantage of us. It’s pretty bad when other vet offices say not to go there cause they hear this all the time. Unfortunately, there are only a few er vets in this area. Pray that you don’t have an emergency. Make sure to ask questions because they definitely won’t be forthcoming. They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they treat customers and need to be more transparent with what we are actually paying for. They make it difficult for people to rescue animals because heaven forbid if they get sick, they most likely won’t be able to afford it.
The prices are well pricey but you are paying for an around the clock service. All of the techs as well as Dr. Biesinger were extremely friendly and very very helpful. I felt that they had my family members (black lab dog) health in their best interest. Everyone was very thorough and with everything in mind you really can see what you are paying for. For certain my pets overall health was a priority.
Very professional and kind staff. EXTREMELY compassionate and great bedside manor. Explained everything so we could make the decision best decision for our cat. Highly recommended.
I brought in my sweet tabby back in March when she wasn't feeling well. She was not eating, so a regular veterinary clinic was unable to take her in, and recommended I take her to an Emergency Animal Hospital. This is the first one I found, that was super far away, and that also didn't have over a 4 hour wait. I will say, I'll thank the Vet a million times, he was caring, explained this well and he took care of her well. However, his technicians/the assistants working up front were the most unhelpful people I have ever encountered. I would call for an update, I would get told "I don't know, you'll have to talk to the Vet, and find out" what is the point of you working there, if you are 0 help? I kept getting different bills, with different charges, with absolutely no explanations as for the amounts I was paying. Before I picked my cat up, I was told she was all set, they took a payment for her meds, and I was told I was all set. When I arrived, they claimed I had yet another bill, that I needed to pay in order to take her home. I just wanted my sweet girl, so I paid. I was never given an explanation as to what these payments were for, nor did I ever receive a receipt for anything! I still to this day have no clue what I paid for, besides the initial sx, and bloodwork, etc. When I called for a an email of a itemized receipt for everything I was charged for, I was never sent anything. I especially would love to know where that last payment went, and why I was obligated to pay it, even though I was already told but 2 people, that I was all set!!! Great Vet, horrible staff!!!!!!
You all have handled this past year, as crazy as it was, efficiently and professionally while still keeping with the loving care of our animals that we've come to expect. Thank you for caring about the animals.
I took my litter of kittens here for emergency care. I took the mother cat along too so everyone could be examined. They pushed for me to let them administer a blood test to the mom even though my main concern was my kittens who were failing to thrive. They bottlefed my kittens with an inadequately nippled bottle and when I asked if I should use a similar nipple they said I should. They also failed to tell me my mom cat was not producing milk, which they basically assured me she was because the kittens had survived so long. Honestly for all they did i could have done at home with a bottle and did after they let me go with only bad advice and a $350 bill. I even suspected mom wasn't producing milk but I figured a veterinary hospital would tell me that. Extremely disappointed
My dear friend took her precious dog in after her vet hours as he was not feeling so well. She decide not to be selfish but let him go to heaven. We got there signed in and waited 2.5 hours . In the meantime he is not doing well we are all upset. Then the emergency room fills up with everyone suffering along with their pets. Not enough staff . It was like being in a nightmare. The only thing they cared about was charging more money before the suffering animals and their parents
I've been to Green Acres multiple times and they have always helped my pets and me through bad times. On my recent visit every staff member was helpful and kind, and Dr. Park was professional and clearly cared about my cat getting well.
We took our cat Tookie to our regular vet for a urinary tract blockage. Unfortunately it was a Friday and they wouldn't be able to keep him for the weekend. After finishing the procedure to unblock him ($2500) the vet VERY RELUCTANTLY told us we'd have to take him to Green Acres because they were the only vet with space in the area. So I took Tookie, with a catheter and an IV in him to Green Acres. Upon arrival we were charged $133 before they even came to take him. Upon them taking him I was told they would have to do blood work, even though he'd just had blood work AND surgery at our regular vet. I was also told that it would be $5000 (double the cost of his surgery) to keep him 2 nights, or $3000 for 1 night. At this point the decision was made to just take him home. He slept on top of me all night and the next morning we had him put to sleep. This is not my first negative experience with GA, but it is by far the most painful. I would rather drive an hour to find a different ER vet than ever bring one of my pets there again
Very poor service, my daughter was crying her eyes out and beside herself because they told her kitty had liver failure and the outlook was grim at best and then the doctor tried laying a quilt trip on her and making her feel worse because she couldn't afford $5000 to have kitty admitted for 3 day with a 20% chance of survival, no compassion or empathy at all, we ended up taking kitty home to pass with no meds or anything after the doctor said she was in a lot of pain. I would never recommend or take another animal here. I truly believe they should be shut down but at least here we know where these awful excuse for vets are.
Today I was treated with true concern and sensitivity on one of the worst events in a persons life. There were 5 caregivers involved in helping me and my little one. They were honest, patient, great at communicating options in a heartfelt voice, kind and accomodating .
They almost killed my dog and i had to get a second opinion to fax over results that the doctor was wrong to get a partial refund that was a whole new issue ugg never again
The staff was kind, compassionate, and caring. Yes it’sa little expensive, no more than a hospital for a human. Is a wonderful place and I was lucky to have gone there???? with my izzy girl
I called here because my dog was vomiting to the point he was throwing up blood. They said 2 to 3 hr wait outside before they could see him. That is not an emergency animal hospital to me.
The emergency care provided my Shih Tzu, Baxter, was exceptional although a little high priced. When I ask for a military discount, I was told they do honor it but not for ER services only scheduled appointments. As a vet on a fixed income it would be of a much greater help if it were applied to ER services. I can budget for expected services but when an ER visit just cost me $1000 that was unexpected, the military discount would have made much better sense. Please review and change this policy!
They made my disabled brother cry because of the over charging, and costs. They made my brother and mother wait almost 4 hours in total while they “performed service” for an ear infection and draining of cyst. $600! Anywhere else this would have been less than that, they made them wait over an hour after they paid the initial $133 fee, and then nothing till the remainder of the bill was paid for up front, then they were forced to wait another 3 hours… worst customer service I’ve seen. If you can go else where do so. Also this visit happened today 7/26/2021, and their lobby is closed, they refuse to let anyone one inside for anything, they made my brother walk 2 blocks to the nearest gas station to used the facilities, he’s disabled! He had to cross Niagara Falls boulevard twice during rush hour!
We had to take my baby Punkin here suddenly because she stopped eating, was very lethargic, and was extremely bloated. They took her in without ever seeing her before, and we're super friendly, compassionate, and kind. Unfortunately, Punkin had a tumor inside her belly that ruptured and there wasn't much (outside of a very invasive surgery) they could do for her, especially given how bad it was and how unstable her blood work was. The staff was great though, and they allowed us to go in during COVID protocol to be with her in her final minutes. They even explained everything to us and answered every question we had along the way. Our vet was especially awesome. He told us all of our options, then told us what his recommendation was given his experience and her situation, which helped make our decision less painful. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because I waited almost 3 hours to be seen and it was very expensive, but I feel like the wait and cost is to be expected for an emergency hospital, especially when they have never seen a dog before and it was as busy as it was that day. Punkin was such a sweet, kind, loving dog and we miss her very much, thank you for being there for her, and us, during her final moments. We appreciate you!
We recently had to take our dog in because he was not eating. It turns out he had a very high fever. They did blood work which showed his sugars were low, probably because he had not eaten in 2 days. They focused on the blood sugar levels and proceeded to do test after costly test, finding out nothing. We had to call them to get updates, they did not call us. They finally gave him antibiotics after 3 days of no improvement and 12 hours later his fever was gone and he started to eat. He’s been home 3 days now, doing well, and they have not called once to check on him. They had wanted to keep him another night to watch him, but it was going to be another $2100. We had already spent $8000, which put us in debt! I feel like they took advantage of us when we were feeling vulnerable about our beloved dog and also did not provide the best care. I’m so disappointed.
Long wait times. Lack of front end staff training. No response. Hard to get a hold of. I can go on and on. Even before covid, I'd have to sit in a tiny room with my dog for over an hour waiting to see the vet. I've spent thousands of dollars there, so you'd think they'd have better customer service. Their phone systems are totally screwed up. Nobody responds to email and when you do get through to someone nobody calls you back. Super frustrating.
Can't give to much info on the place since we never made it in the building. We were told an hour wait but they made sure to get the $110 payment right away. At one point we were told to bring the dog to the door after waiting in the rain for 10 mins we went in the car and moved up by the door. No one came for over 30 mins we called back and we're told it would be "a bit longer" after 90 mins total we called back again. And we're told it would be "a bit longer" again.... apparently that's there code for an hour but we're not really sure. Our dog was throwing up and had diarrhea and wasn't eating for over a day but was seemingly ok during this whole wait. We went home and she finally ate something. We'll check with our vet in the morning. They actually seem to care about our pet.
The good and the bad. Good: Their emergency building appears brand new. Very nice inside. We drove up from North Carolina visiting family For the holidays when our puppy became ill the day we got there. Had to bring him in Christmas morning. Staff was great and efficient. The doctor was very down to earth and we thought we had a good game plan in place. Brought back couple days later due to no improvement. X-rays worrisome for foreign body. Ended up driving home overnight for emergency surgery here in NC. Bad: NO RADIOLOGIST OFFICIAL READS ON X-RAYS! This is the first time I’ve ever had X-rays of any of my dogs that weren’t also reviewed electronically by a certified radiologist. Both trips and both Drs we saw only gave their own “wet read” of what they saw. I am a medical Provider and sorry, but at no time does an ER Provider read their own X-rays without a radiologist signing off w a final read. I say this bc the plan up at Green Acres was “possible FB, let’s do a 24hour barium study to confirm it”. I signed out AMA and we drove 12 hrs overnight home. Our ER Vet here in Raleigh downloaded the X-ray from up in NY and the radiologist immediately said he needs to go straight to surgery, worrisome finding of a linear foreign body on the X-rays. He ended up having perforated bowels, they had to cut out a section of it….I can’t imaging what would have happened if we had stayed in NY delaying a critical surgery bc he gets a 24hr barium study due to the Dr’s there not having a radiologist reviewing their xrays. Learn from my mistake and INSIST THEY HAVE A RADIOLOGIST REVIEW ALL IMAGING! My puppy likely would not have survived if we chose to stay there instead of coming home.
One of the worst experience of my life. This facility is only interested in billing for tests and making money out of other's misery. Our Frenchie was throwing up and unable to hold water. Our regular Vet was closed so we took him to this place and the torture began. They made us wait in the car for over 45 minutes, this after they had asked us to pay their initial charges. Our poor Captain threw up twice inside the Car and we were forced to call them. After a long wait they answered and took him in. My spouse, a Physician spoke to the vet and told her that he was dehydrated and needed fluids and we also requested for an x ray as we thought he had swallowed something. After waiting in the car for 3 hours we called again to enquire about his well being. Again after an endless wait we were put to the vet and she advised us to go back and that they would call us. As soon as we left , we received a call from their office asking us to pay for the X ray and a Blood work. We told them we didn't need a blood work as it was not required and that we had left. They sent us a link to make the payment for the x ray. After 5 hours , we had no news of our pet and were worried sick. The hospital only kept telling us the Doc had not read the x ray. Finally after 6 hours we were able to speak to the Vet who told us to come and take him home in 30 mins. We went there and after another wait of 30 mins we were asked to pay and then step out and wait. The total cost involved was $870.00.+ This facility is not meant for your loved ones and should be avoided. Apart from the lack of care , there is a general indifference and lack of apathy on the part of the staff.
I worked here for a while and my time here taught me that one this clinic doesn't care about its patients and two is money hungry to the point of extortion. I say this because one the prices here are outrages 10-30% higher than other clinics I've worked. The next being how they made estimates, many of the clinic's estimates I've worked at say what on the estimate so the client knows what there paying for an getting here they charge by lab work packages which don't tell the client what included. Why is that an issue well my time here I've seen clients charged for a lab work package but only half of the lab work was actually done so clients were actually paying for say a urine culture but not having their pet's urine collected or urine culture done. Another example I've seen is how they try to push hospitalization for any animal that comes in not well even if it very small basic issues. I saw a case were a dog came in an the Doctor decided it was most likely an upper respiratory infection and said to me "He should be fine with just sending meds home, but see if you can convince them to hospitalize for a day". Now don't get me wrong yes hospitalizing was the best option for care I know this, but to hospitalize the animal for a day it would of cost the client easily over a thousand dollars to send them home with meds about 300 dollars (which that in it self is insanely priced considering all we did was a wellness visit and prescription meds). An these are just the issues I've seen on the client employee side of the clinic staff to staff was literally pointless drama non stop. At one point when I were instructed by a doctor to take x-rays on a dog one of the assistants helping me said to me in a very aggressive tone "Don't push the button next time that my job got it." I'm a licensed Veterinary Technician I went to school for 4 years one of which years I learned how to take x ray for any image and how to do it safely and minimize radiation exposure to people helping with the x ray and my self. And an assistant not even out of high school belittled me for taking the x ray because she wanted to push the button. That is the kind of idiotic drama I dealt with during every shift.
They SAVED our dog from becoming PARALYZED!! I'll never go anywhere else in this area. Staff was friendly and helpful. So much better than the other local animal hospital. Night & Day actually.
They always take great care of my dogs. They also have emergency care after hours if you ever have a need for that. The vets are amazing with all animals and you can really tell that they care about your pet.
I appreciate all the hard work for Rome. You guys saved my baby. The loving support and comfort Rome received while in your care. Letting me call at all hours just to check on her. And explaining in detail what would be done next.
I want to thank all the staff here. I took my son's dog to them while they are on their honeymoon. She was diagnosed with lymphoma. They have been so patient with my questions. Telling me how to care for her and been wonderful in working with all of us for the best quality of life for her. Then when I was low on cash they worked with me to get her what she needed. One staff girl was so sweet and wrote on the back of my papers "you are amazing! Awesome doggie grandma!" Made me cry good tears because they are so understanding and kind! She is terminal but doing better with the kemo.
I moved from Buffalo to Rochester this past summer and the one thing I had the hardest time leaving was Green Acres Animal Hospital. Dr. Bernat took EXCEPTIONAL care of my dog and two cats. She was patient, thorough and understanding with me and my pets. I also love the staff here - they were always friendly and helpful. We rarely waited more than 10 or 15 minutes to be put in a room during the 4 years I went there and making appointments/payments was always a breeze. I can't speak to whether they are more expensive than other vets because this was my first vet experience but I can tell you that I always felt I was getting my money's worth here. I never expected vet bills to be cheap and what I paid at Green Acres I believe to be 100% WORTH IT for the quality of care my animals received. Maybe I could have saved a few bucks on annual visits with another practice but I would never have left this office if I hadn't moved over an hour away.
They seem to be very helpful and thorough, but the bill comes and it's... Outrageous. It's almost disrespectful. Literally never want to think of the name Green Acres again because I'll just think of how they tried to bankrupt me over a wellness exam $1100. The dental cleaning was over $4000. I'll find another way.
Unbelievable how you guys don’t double check the names of animals before cremating/making their note and gift. I know 3 people this has happened to. Is there a reason you guys don’t double check the names… are you that unprofessional? Do none of you put yourselves in other peoples shoes? I didn’t think so….
I can't say I enjoyed my 2-hour and 15-minute experience just to get a kennel cough shot. I can't say I enjoyed standing out in the rain waiting for someone to come outside because they refuse to let you in even with a mask to get out of the rain. There is nothing in their phone message about their process and every doctor's office I've been to has a better plan than this. They don't answer their phones they don't take messages they just don't seem to care.
The vet and rest of the staff were more than accomodating while we said goodbye to our sweet boy.
I sadly had to let my kitty "Spaz" follow the rainbow Bridge Saturday nite. She was 20 yrs +. Kidney cancer, anemia, dehydrated, still ate well till the last morning. Then all she wanted was my BOOST drink. She would act ravenous to have some. When she cdnt stand to drink and kept falling .... which started shortly after I got off work, I knew it was time. I called and they were so busy it was insane. And on the weekend is when all this stuff happens. I'd heard horrible things about the place but I had no choice and since we were going to let her go, how bad cd it be. Well, I found out for myself how wonderful the Dr was. She didn't make us wait the 7-8 hrs projected earlier. It was still horrible to let her go. But she was miserable. She lived a helluva long life. She's with all our other furkids we've had to send on their way as well in yrs past. We have our own pet mausoleum but not ALL our babies or we'd need a museum. We will get her back in less than 2 weeks per private cremation and a clay footprint. I kept talking to her for along time after her heart stopped because the brain doesn't shut down immediately. There are electrical impulses still bouncing around for what I was told yrs ago was about an hr. Soooooooooooooo, I am heart broken as you all are when you have to let one go. One day well meet up again....that's gonna be one heck of a party. Dozens of cats and about 8 dogs.
Very kind and helped us through a difficult time. Explained things clearly and didn't push any extraordinary treatment.
Took my puppy here for an emergency because his regular vets office was booked the day he needed to be seen. I don’t feel like they gave my puppy any water while he was in the back waiting for care. He was so thirsty when he came out. Just feels so disconnected and all about the money. Was there for about 3 1/2 hours and 700 dollars later and still wasn’t clear on what’s going on with my pup. Not recommended
They took amazing care of my kitty, Gypsy!!! She was there for 4 nights and kept me informed at all times. Not only do they take care of their patients medically but they treat them like they are their own. The whole staff is there for the "parents as well". I have 7 cats and a dog and I'm transferring them all over to Green Acres.
The staff has always been helpful and kind. They were able to perform a life saving surgery on my cat that only a few vets in the area can perform. Salem and I are grateful!
The staff is absolutely amazing. They deeply care about their patients. My boy was there for almost a week but I was able to visit him every day at any time. They called me with updates while I was at work and made sure that I understood all the care that he received and provided me with post-op information when I took him back home.
Came here after a distressing event with my pet on a weekend. Given there were not many options available, naturally I was a little nervous bringing them here. I was put in a room right away and my pet taken for observation by the diligent staff. They gave insightful solutions and gave needed support and feedback to make the best next step for me and my pet.
Staff was exceptional from first phone call regarding my dogs need for immediate urgent care to the final good bye. Everyone was very compassionate and every step was explained in detail making sure I understood.
I would have given them a no star review but no option I spent 361 on an exam and 2 medications and a collar for my cat that was biting fur off her leg. They said she was so sick and I NEEDED TO GET X RAYS AND BLOODWORK another 485 DOLLARS. NEEDLESS TO SAY THE ANTIBIOTICS MADE HER SICK. Now I got text that my cat was dead from an anonymous caller nice, who knows who sent that meanwhile my cousin had just went there to check on her she is ok. I'm going to another vet now will update you. Just so you know she was throwing up when I brought her in she stopped then the oral meds made her again start throwing up and the vet said she will die if she doesn't keep food down cause cats get a fatty liver easier than dogs and die, plus the exam was supposed to include clipping the nails and a urine check never did that either.
The staff and doctors are very friendly. I could get an appointment in a timely fashion and all my questions and concerns were addressed with thoughtful explanations of health and recommended treatments
While the bill is very expensive, the care is great. I did have to call quite a bit to get an update on my pet but people were always kind on the phone. If your pet is sick, this is the place to get them well.
I won't evenGive this place1 start 5 hours later 1,000 to find out my car has a ear infection then made us wait. Then finally said hey were hungry oh we can call you when you cats ready. Why didn't you tell me 4hours ago what a joke then 25 more minutes for a print out of all the money we just gave you unbelievable
We brought our Angel in for emergency service since she couldn't breathe from congested heart failure. We were expecting to hear choices instead told by Dr Burnett she died as soon as she was brought in. We were shocked and heart broken to be told like that. We had been put on hold for 15 min unnecessarily. Waived the doctor visit fee.
Our family is forever grateful for the excellent treatment our dog Dallas received. The veterinarian's continual communication with me was greatly appreciated during Dallas' crisis. The tech's were great keeping me updated with all Dallas' care. We would highly recommend them to anyone with an emergency pet care need. This picture of Dallas after his tech brought him to me shows just how happy he is with his treatment too!
Green Acres is amazing! I find such comfort in Dr Parkhill and her team. I never once second-guess their knowledge. Having a vet that you 100% trust is extremely important and I could not imagine going anywhere else.
Green Acres is fantastic! My dog was a rescue dog and gets very anxious around other dogs. They are very understanding and handle it great every time. The staff is friendly and caring. I highly recommend them!
Love the vet and the staff. This place makes us feel right at home, and they treat us so well. Our dogs get excited when they hear the word 'vet'. We've moved further away but have made the drive for 5 years now because we love the people here that much.
You saved our cat Marvin's life. We will always remember Dr. Parkhill! Proximity and emergency services are high priorities. When our cat Lenny needed to be euthanized you were VERY supportive.
I am writing in regards to a situation that took place on Saturday evening. A friend of mine brought her dog in who had had a seizure, and needed emergency help. She was told that basically that because she did not have $1400 to keep her dog overnight, she had to leave. Now I understand this is a business, but it is also care for animals that should be your first and main priority. Yesterday, the dog passed away because she did not have the care she needed the night before. There should be some type of payment or emergency plan set up. Not everyone just walks around with the means to produce $1500 on the spot. When my friend was in, she states there was not even any compassion for her dog that was clearly in need of emergency services. I would not recommend this vet to ANYONE, and hope in the future you take care of the animals the way they needed to be treated. God forbid, someone in your offices need an emergency service, and are turned away because you can't pay up front. Pets are peoples family, and they nor their owners should be treated like this. I hope your practice feels good about knowing an animal lost its life because you "needed" that money for an overnight.
I came in with my sick foster puppy who was about 4 months old and was taken in very quickly. He was diagnosed with Parvo, and at such a young age, can be very threatening. FORTUNATELY, we worked with this animal hospital and they were amazing. Being a foster mom, you worry and love even though they aren’t your own pet. Dr.Biesinger worked with Titus almost directly along with the rest of the staff, and I can give them nothing but compliments. I was given feedback about his health updates daily and felt confident and comfortable that they would get our Titus healthy and strong as quickly as they could; and they did. Thank you to everyone at this location!
Long story short I can’t complain about how quickly they saw my pet twice and both on short notice but neither time was the Bill broken down to show what exactly I was paying for, just one line with the date, a record number and, the cost and the second time the doctors were very unclear with the instructions for the medication and when calling for clarification the receptionist just wasn’t enough help and wouldn’t pass me along to a doctor that could better help me so all in all some things could be done better but my dog was seen quickly
They do care about their patients here, no question, but the wait times are very long and the cost is just outrageous. I have since moved on to a different facility and received the same care (and better) for much less. For this reason I do not recommend them. You can do much better, trust me.
The veterinarian we worked with was so kind and knowledgeable. Overall all of the staff members were very caring. Everyone answered any questions that we had and made sure we were okay with what was happening with our dog. The kindness and sincerity of staff was so appreciative. Although we hope our dog doesn't have another emergency, we will absolutely be coming back if needed. Thank you!
Loved the way they care for my lion head bunny. They provided me with a lot of information that I truly didn't know and thanks to them now I have more knowledge. Overall good place good and caring staff also really clean! Would recommend it
We had to rush my 4 yr old Lab into the Hospital Monday night. It was a freak accident and my poor baby girl did not survive after surgery. Dr Howard was the most compassionate and honest angel who helped us through the hardest day of our lives. Our Lily was our sunshine and Dr. Howard was giving his entire being to save her..my poor girl just couldn't pull through. To Dr. Howard I can't thank you enough for your skill, empathy, courage and compassion. We are grateful you were with us and hope only the best for your and your family. Thank you
I had to bring my dog in emergency that ended up being far more serious than I ever would’ve guessed. in dealing with a distraught customer, and with all the challenges of pandemic creates for them, they were nothing but kind and accommodating to every question and ask. I never felt pressured one way or the other, and they did everything they could to make sure both my dog and I were comfortable. Ill miss my boy but whenever i decide to get another dog, I will be using them as my primary vet.
Everyone here was super nice. The facility was clean and updated. They are open 24/7 which is also very convenient! Not overpriced like most places I’ve been.
The front line staff is wonderful- kind and caring. Down to 2 stars because they are extremely expensive. I will be seeking another vet for my cat.
Coming here every 20 days to see Dr. Bernat for my dogs elbow dysplasia. She is a very responsible doctor, telling you everything you need to know on hot to take care a young dog with elbow dysplasia. Also very caring towards my dog she always enjoys meeting up with her. The front desk is the friendliest of the 8 clinics I've been to <3!!
ONE STAR IS FAR TOO MUCH CREDIT FOR THIS PLACE!!! We were referred by another clinic that was at capacity and called 2 days in a row to only be told they were either at capacity or had 4+ hour wait times, after things took a turn for the worst for our dog we went in anyways willing to wait the hours. Upon walking in the lobby was EMPTY , absolutely no one (so why say 4+hours to wait) . We were charged $150 just to walk in and another $752 for spotty X-rays and blood work just to be told we can get better images with 2 more X-rays costing $300 more. Once we established that it was not necessary for 2 more X-rays they then told us that we were NOT allowed to take our dog home due to his condition and they proceeded to tell us it was anywhere between $6400-$9000 to stay in the clinic for 2 days (and couldn’t ensure that he would get any better) before we discuss quality of life. When we disagreed they Then charged us $865 to put our dog down and leave empty handed . We were given the run around for HOURS and ended up having to leave without our pet . HANDS DOWN THE WORST PLACE EVER, all they care about is money and NOT the care for your pet. They will try to squeeze every dollar they can for services that are not needed.
Great quality care, the staff were very friendly, caring, thorough, and professional. The one downside was the wait time, but the wait time was similar at all other clinics.
Took my dog (no appointment) who was very sick as my regular vet wouldn't see him because they were too busy. I was told by Green Acres there would be a 2-3 hour wait. When they realized that he was going to have to be euthanized they took us in sooner. I only waited a little over a half hour. Everyone there, especially the vet, was very caring and helped me through this horrible time. They let me stay with him (before and after) as long as I needed. Very caring and compassionate.
Compassion? 0 Money grabbers? 1000% Save your wallet and go to West Side Pet Clinic where your baby will be actually CARED FOR instead of them just worrying how you are going to pay. Disgusting owners. I see how you were able to pay for the new addition. Oh, and by the way, stop charging people just to walk in the door. Vile humans. Do NOT COME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. There are so so many places elsewhere you can go. Message me on Facebook if you need any information on an affordable, loving, caring veterinarian. ????
The Veteranarian that treated my dog was exceptional! If I were rating solely based on him, his assistant & a lady I believe named Melissa who came in and worked the desk around 8 pm it would be a 10 however; I cannot. My daughter and I arrived at 3:40pm and were not seen until 6 hours later. The staff gave me the expectation of 2-3 hours and did not deliver. A female receptionist I spoke with earlier around 4pm-5pm was very rude when I called from my car. She seemed annoyed with any questions I had and was glad to tell me what I couldn't do. She mentioned if I left I would have to start my wait all over again. My daughter and dogs sat there for hours hungry thirsty and was prohibited from using the rest room there. No one ever called us to let us know where we were cued. We could've easily went home and received a call and hour or so before we needed to be seen. The wait was long and horrible. The receptionist who arrived at 8 took ownership of everything. She told us it's ok to get food and use the restroom she would make sure we were seen without losing our spot. She apologized for the wait. She was not only compassionate but she showed empathy. Ultimately besides the Veteranarian, his assistant & the receptionist who came in at 8 who had short curly black hair and glasses; my entire experience was negative! When I was finally checking out a staff member with black scrubs, straight dark shoulder length hair stared at me uncomfortably the entire time I was checking out she did not say hello did not smile but rudely stared at me for 3 minutes straight it was very strange and uncomfortable. I finally waved at her because I was in awe she would stare at me so intensely. The new facility looks beautiful but ultimately I may choose the emergency center down the street from the Buffalo airport in the future. Overall I feel there is lots of room for improvement when it pertains to how this business operates. It's pointless to have a world class facility and not provide world class customer service especially when clients pay so much for emergency services. When a pet is sick or injured pet parents are usually upset and worried. This facility only exasperated those feelings. I feel patient acumen and emotional intelligence needs to be taught by the receptionist mentioned above. She would be ideal to teach staff how to have compassion when interacting with clients. Also beyond the Veteranarian a woman who was in the back with him relaying messages and called me with the quote was also kind, empathetic and thorough in explaining my options. Someone recommended that we came to this facility and told me "it was the best, the people are amazing!" Sadly I had to report back to her that was not my experience! I feel when u have people waiting that long they should have the courtesy to offer bottled water dog treats or anything as a courtesy to show compassion. I am blown away by this experience and am still processing it. I really don't understand how it is possible that so many people came after us and left before us I see a huge issue in that.
I had to rush a pet in around 10pm on a weekday, and they were able to get me in right away (just drop off at front door still). The Dr. was quick and efficient, and saved my pups life, and the front desk employees were professional and understanding as well. Good job!
You've always helped and treated Neena well. And, given her the time and care needed.
As a follow up to your response- Your doctor made it very clear that she didn't think the kitten would survive no matter what we did. How is it that a beloved pet should be handed over instead of in the hands of it's family? SPCA was offered but to have them show up at my house was traumatic for me and my kids. BE CAREFUL! When I arrived they took my kitten to the back for examination. They didn't even examine her in front of me. She appeared very sick so I was told by the Vet here that if I did not hospitalize her I should put my kitty to sleep. Of course they didn't know what was wrong with her - they said she was terminal because she was not acting normal. As soon as I brought her home she began to play and act normal. I COULD HAVE PUT HER SLEEP BASED ON THE ADVISE OF THIS VET. Just to top it all off, later that day I get a visit from Erie County SPCA for not choosing to hospitalize my "terminally ill" kitten which is now acting normal. If you decide to take your animal here and you disagree with their management then they will call the SPCA on you so be careful!
Does Dr Biesinger no longer practice here? Took my pet in for a follow up to a UTI he had and was hospitalized for. The doctor we saw was fairly confused as to why my pet was put on prescription food (Dr B said that it would probably be for the rest of his life) and referred to the 2 UTIs he had from December thru January as "just UTIs". I left feeling so dumb, because obviously I don't think of it that way. The doctor we saw also told us to stop feeding him prescription food and change over to different food... Again. Insult to injury, on our way out, the doctor had the front desk ask if we could get the records transferred from "our last vet". My guy is 4 years old and has only been to this office since he was 7 months!! Loved Dr B but may have to look elsewhere. I don't want to always feel stupid for knowing something isn't right with my pet. Dr B never made me feel like I had a stupid question, but I was fully interrogated today. Aren't there charts kept for the animals there?!
The Veterinarian that was there was absolutely heartless and rude when my dog was brought in. AVOID!!! To tell a grieving owner when their pet is dying and can't see or hear and barely walk that we need to take him home he can live, when we felt as the owners his suffering has to stop so he could be free of pain and suffering is ridiculous. 17 year old dog, and all we wanted was for his pain to end and now he's home and we have to go through that process with a REAL ACTUAL COMMPASSIONATE VETERINARIAN... AGAIN. I'm shocked and will never reccomend using this hospital, stay away!!
I can't be more grateful that you saved my cat Ben. You gave him immediate attention and care, gave me frequent updates, and allowed me to call at all hours. And you also refunded me a significant amount of money because Ben didn't need to stay as long or need as much care, when most places would have just kept it all. I will recommend you for all emergency pet care.
Very helpful and organized. Costs seemed a bit on the high side but I've never been to an emergency clinic before so I don't have anything to compare it to. Dr. Corey seemed knowledgeable and confident.
Really wouldn't know how their actual care is since I spent my whole visit waiting in the parking lot for 3 and half hours and never had my cat seen. Thank God it's just a cut on his ear and not something major! They also take a $130 deposit as soon as they write your name up so I asked a staff member for that back. I had to call inside for that.
Do not go here for emergency ever they will take your money make you wait with your sick pet they only have one doctor on and these people are completely clueless all they want is your money not what’s best for your pet I had an awful experience here
Green Acres Animal Hospital has been our vet for over 11 years for our dog Sammy. We mainly deal with Dr. Bernat and could not say enough positive things about our experiences there. Everyone on the staff is very friendly and attentive. We have had many out of the ordinary visits,as well as routine check up type appointments and they have always gotten to the bottom of the situation. For those in these comments that say Green Acres is all about the money I feel are just bashing a wonderful caring business. You may you feel they are more expensive, but I am happy to pay any cost as I know my Sammy is being cared for, and treated by professional, knowledgeable and caring staff. I would go no where else. Thank you Dr. Bernat and staff for always helping our Sammy!!
My dog Gus needed emergency surgery for a fractured pelvis. They transported him to the surgery site and back again. I called at all hours and was given updates with each call. A veterinarian is on site 24/7 with knowledgeable technicians. Eased my mind somewhat that he was not alone. Gus developed an infection and was happily excepted back at 2am. Best care ever!
Dr. Park hill is the Best! She answered all our questions and has the patience of a saint! She shows genuine concern&love treating our boy Jake! We couldn't go in with Jake, because of COVID regulations but she eased our minds with updates step by step and explaining everything . You literally need ten more of her!!! The communication & customer service!
Our experience last night with the Veterinarian and staff was overall great! We were extremely nervous to bring our Boston in, and the vet made us feel comfortable and explained what was going on in detail to us. She offered options and left the decision to us. She was very kind and we are so very appreciative of her help with our boy! Thank you for all that you do, and know how appreciated you are especially for working overnights.
Took my dog here after eating a ham bone and they insisted on surgery but wanted 6000 upfront! Wouldn't even wait till the morning for the money and insisted on payment first! I don't know about you but I don't have that laying around at 7pm on a Friday night. By the way I got there at 230 and took them almost 3 hours to just do X-rays. Will never go there again. The dog is now passed because they couldn't wait to receive there money
Bad experience overall, with front staff. Unprofessional reception, and delay responses from staff. I was told our cat was ready, and to come and cash out (motivated by money and not care), then sat for another 45 minutes until our cat was actually ready. Several phone calls, to speak about results with the vet, were placed on hold, and subsequent phone calls were needed to actually speak about results. Overall the professionalism of the receptionist was extremely poor. 3 receptionist were present sitting at the desk, with visits from food delivery companies, and no acknowledgement that waiting customers were still present and had already paid for the services rendered. Unprofessional, and severe lack of compassion, by having customers wait in cars with animals until they can be seen. A large open lobby is there for a reason.
We are very happy with the care the staff has shown our animals through the years! From the doctors to techs to reception, we feel our dogs and cats are treated like family. Communication and explanation of their illness or injuries has been excellent.
If i could give zero stars i would!!!! We brought our dog here saturday because she had a very deep laceration in her paw pad and had lost a lot of blood. We pulled in the parking lot at 4pm, and she never went inside until 830pm after i had called and asked what happened to the 2 hour wait you initially said? Mind you, she was bleeding through pressure bandages this whole time. I called 2 hours after i brought her inside and they STILL had not seen her! I finally spoke with the vet around 12:30am after i had to call. At 12:30, 8 1/2 hours after we pulled in the parking lot, she finally received care. We were told she would need to be sedated and stitched but they wanted to check her blood work first, fair enough. Well her bloodwork came back with high kidney levels so they insisted on keeping her another 14 hours to recheck her bloodwork. Did not hear a word from them ofcourse, so i had to call and ask if they repeated her blood work. unfortunately, her levels had not changed. so it was at this point, 24 hours after we brought her there, that they finally decided to use local anesthesia and stitch her paw. If this was going to be the end result, why was it not done anyway? Right... $$$$. We asked for copies of all her paper work and her platelet levels were extremely low indicating she had lost a lot of blood, yet they still didn’t stitch her until hours later. Our dog will never see the inside of this negligent, incompassionate, money hungry establishment ever again and i hope yours doesn’t have to either.
I began taking my dog here last year and we saw one particular vet consistently. I never really had any complaints before. Prior to COVID experience: my dog gets anxious and barks at other animals when he sees them and they offered to let me pay in the room (so I didn't have to try to pay out front where he would disturb the other animals). I appreciated this gesture, however they NEVER came in the room for me to pay. I sat in there for 20 minutes after seeing the vet. When I finally left the room, we found out that no one knew we were waiting to pay. Ok, that's fine. That happens. Ever since COVID began, my doggo has had quite a few issues going on. He's an older dog and a rescue, so not much of previous health history has been available. We took him for an appointment because he had a UTI. It was scheduled appointment & we were there for 6 hours.... SIX HOURS. We got a urine culture and were told it takes about a week. A week and a half goes by...Nothing. I call & they get the information back to me that day. Urine cultures take between 24-72 hours. So why did this take a week and half to get results? Next encounter, we scheduled a full body ultrasound and PAID for it before he was taken in for the appt. They treated this as a surgery appointment so no food after 10pm the night before and drop off between 7-8am. We were told by front desk that they had "no idea" when the doctor will see him (meaning whether my dog was going to be seen in the morning or afternoon). I call at 3 pm and they tell me that the doctor was JUST NOW seeing him. 20 minutes later, we are told that he's finished. They kept my dog there ALL day without being fed (due to the procedure), kenneled, and anxiety ridden being around other dogs... for a 20 min procedure. We also provided staff with his medication he was taking which they did not give us when we left so we had to make the 25 min trip BACK OUT THERE. We paid for a full body ultrasound, but the vet ONLY did the bladder. So they had to reimburse me. SO I paid for a service but DID NOT get the service I paid for initially or requested?? And we didn't get answers from it because he has a UTI!! So the bladder was "too inflamed" to see anything?! OF COURSE IT IS. My boyfriend is the second caregiver so they called him to "pay", even though I already did. He explained what happened, and placed him on hold, meanwhile they call ME to tell me that I was overcharged. When he gets home, HE IS STILL ON THE PHONE WAITING TO "PAY". So basically they must've forgotten he was on the line? We didn't receive any sort of receipt because they must have been "figuring it out". When they called me about being overcharged, I had no idea what was going on because they had been talking to my boyfriend and he was the one picking our doggo up. I asked what they charged me for and she said, "he did xrays or something or something about you not wanting them but did them"... so she couldn't even tell me WHY I was being reimbursed?? I loved our original doctor there, however that is not enough to keep us here. I have been in customer service all my life, I am aware things happen especially while we navigate this new normal. The long wait times, the lack of communication, lack of service provided, etc. It's not worth it. I requested to speak with a manager about my experience and I was told they were not on site, my name and number was taken. This was on Thursday and I still haven't heard anything. I am not the typical person who writes negative reviews. Actually, this is the first one I've ever written. My dog is my family member, he's my baby and I want the best care for him. Unfortunately, that care is not provided here. I am truly disappointed with these experiences.
The staff here are kind and professional . They took great care of my dog and explained everything I needed to do. I appreciated it very much as I was stressed at the time.
Had to put my dog down in an emergent situation. They were very kind. I would have given 5 but the prices are outrageous. Spend 200 more on a 20 lb dog over a 95lb dog for euthanasia.
Came in 430pm. To bring my friends 2 exotic rabbits because they haven't been eating they said return at 700pm. Its now 900pm and no sign of getting in. 1 doctor For 16 customers out here. Under staff and rude. Were patience and no public restrooms. They need to build another vet. Hospital.
I went to bring my aunts dog for an emergency visit. They determined that he had a large mass on his spleen which was bleeding into his abdomen. After discussing options we decided that it was best to put him to sleep. The staff was respectful accommodating and made this difficult experience as easy and peaceful as possible , and I can not express how thankful I am for even the small actions taken by them. Again thank you
Horrible wait time , very pricey, they care more bout making money then caring n diagnosing your pets. DO NOT take your pets here
Everyone was great!!! Since I am Deaf and Dr. Park was willing to show me and drew few pictures which it really help. One technician was really friendly and help me to be comfortable since she has rescue dog from Harvey. One person who gave me note to follow up and did appropriate sign, One doctor was patience to text me while we were communicating what my dog's problem. Overall, I was happy. Disadvantage was the COVID-19 really impacted for not being able to get in and be with the doctor to face to face with the dog. I know they would have done it if there weren't COVID-19. Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!! Willing to meet me at the between doors so we can communicate and will to allow to accept last minute call at the door which I was not aware and voice calling was disadvantage for me so I has to tell them "I am Deaf and meet me at the door". They did. Thank you!!!
My sweet dog was having a hard time breathing. Staff took him back as soon as I arrived. After medication and some oxygen he was improved and I was able to take care of him at home. Everyone was very nice, attentive and professional. There was genuine concern for my pet.
The wait time was a bit long especially for my dog being prone to anxiety. To be fair though, they were kind enough to squeeze my dog in for an appointment because we missed his the day before. Dr. Biesinger was great with my dog who can pose a challenge to veterinary staff. He was even able to take blood from my dog without sedating him, something his old vet could never do since most of their staff was afraid of him. Overall I'm glad we switched to Green Acres.
I'm pleased with the level of care I was able to get for Lily, my cat. Getting Lily in without an appt was appreciated.
Dr. refused to answer a question and hung up when pressed for the answer. This is the last vet I would take any animal to. We had to ask them to return the dog three times. I was getting ready to call the police. The girl that worked the front desk did not listen to why we were there. we told her that the dog had a cut and we wanted to SEE if he needed stiches. When she called us to come in she said we could bring in stiches.( the name she though was the name of the dog) She also told the vet the dog was bleeding when we told here it was not bleeding.
The first time I’ve been here it wasn’t the best experience. But today they were absolutely amazing. One of my dogs got attacked by our cat pretty bad and they got us back to a room right away. For an emergency vet visit, PE exam, eye exam, two x-rays, rabies vaccine, eye ointment, and pain pills, it was under $1,000. Thank you so so so much! He should be better in no time!
Was not pleased .my dog got hit by car during regular hrs and they charged me for an emergency visit. Couldn't really tell me much cause they said they couldn't handle my dog. So they wanted to sedate her to take x-rays and other tests. An extreme amount of money. I'm looking for another vet. This was not my first go around with them. They charge an extreme amount of money for the same services as others. I'm very sad that money comes first for them and not the animals
The staff was very caring but the clinic was very expensive. My outcome for my cat was not what I had hoped, but there was no alternative. They were there in the middle of the night when my cat was in distress.
I hate doing reviews but I have to for tonight. The reception staff and the techs are really sweet especially Nikki, the reason I gave them 3 stars is because I feel they only care about the money and not the pet, my pet is on the verge of dieing and at that time I only had half the money right then and I would be able to get the rest in the am since mind u its 10pm n my other half is driving around trying to find an open pharmacy to get the pills my dog needs since they didn't have them I wasn't going to stress him out by having him come home n then drive back. They called a manager to see if they could take half the 75% up front payment well they said no, I even said I'd be there first thing nope office policy you pay all or take ur dog and chance here servival, no compation from the managers at all, office policy, well I think you need to change it do to covid 19 an people not having alot of money, thanks for the help from the techs n reception, but for who ever wrote ur policies karma, because now I have to watch my 2yr old pup die.
I would highly recommend taking your pet to the Orchard Park or Cheektowaga Emergency Vet if time allows. We recentlly brought our cat here for a UTI and bladder infection. $4200 dollars vet bill and our cat had no surgery. From the start I specifically asked if our cat had stones in his bladder and I was told twice No,not maybe but no twice! The Vet even doule checked the xray and said NO. Then after 4 days on an IV and anibiotics they took another xray and the Dr said there could be teeny tiny stones and he recommended we do surgery. I ask if the stones could disolve on their own if they were stones and he said yes but he was pushing the $5000 surgery anyways. If there is a chance the bladder stones(if there were stones) could desolve on there own why would i put our cat through a surgery? They also recommended keeping our cat one more night to monitor him. They wanted to get another $500 dollars from us. I said we can monitor him at home. Then when we went to pick up our cat they wanted me to sign a AMA. I was confussed because the Dr agreed with me that we could take him home. Not sure if thats a tatic to make the owner feel guilty or what that was but we never got an answer. We took our cat to another vet and there were no stones. Another major problem there is the communication. After dishing out $4200 you dont get to talk to a vet much when you have question you talk to techs that have no idea what your situation is. I was told, in a snarky way by one tech "I just got here I dont know whats going on with your cat" I beleive they take the most exspesive route to treat your pet. They also sent us home with 6 differnt medications. They gave our cat a very strong, and very exspensive oral opiate for pain. Mind you our cat was on two other pain meds but they said here is another more exspesive pain med for you...They milked us good! Green Arcres is not the place to be....Stay far away from this horrible place!!!! FYI.... I am sure some of the 4 star reviews are from paid actors. Dont let them fool you..... Read the bad reviews first and you will see the pattern.
If and when I decide to have another animal in my life, I will bring it to this facility. Their caring and heart for every patient they take in is cared for in every way possible. Thank you for the love you all showed me and my family with the care you shared with us.
Worst experience at an emergency care vet center. The wait time was extremely long and the staff moved at a pace as if they were out for a Sunday stroll. I took my pet there for a urinary kidney problem where he was whining in pain, dripping blood from his private area, and wasn’t able to urinate but they didn’t consider that an emergency and we waited over 6 hrs on a Monday night to even be seen. The staffs response: “There are other pets here that have more important problems than yours” after already swiping my credit card for a service they haven’t yet provided.
The most awful experience ever. front of house service sub par. Some of the techs are useless and have poor manners. vet was fair but it is really poorly managed. They also own Wheatfield animal hospital and grand island. Please if you are a true animal lover this is not the place for you. I would never ever trust them to touch one of my animals again.
On Thursday July 29th we had to say goodbye to my best friend Toto. Toto was definitely the best thing to happen to me 8 years ago when I got her. We brought her to Green Acres after being told to wait 6 hours at another veterinary center. They understood financially what was best for our family, and the great struggles of letting our dog cross the rainbow bridge. Green Acres truly understood the love we had for our dog and showed nothing but love during the grieving process. I would recommend this place 100 times over again if I could. Thank you guys so much for being patient and so gentle. ❤️
Feeling very disillusioned our baby Cupid passed away in their care which I believe was fine but was told it would be up to 4 weeks b4 our baby was returned to us. It has been well passed the 4 week mark and haven't gotten a single word from anyone. I did call and from the way the person on the other end of the phone acted I'm not feeling confident they even sent cupid off to b cremated or that he even had a clue who cupid was but was told the hold up may be covid related and the owner would b called to c if they could find out what's going on. For the large amt of money we paid I'm feeling very let down and scared that my baby has been lost. Praying our baby gets returned to us with one hell of a good explanation for the ridiclious long wait. Finally got cupid back changed review from 2 to 4 stars they did explain what happened not thrilled with the super long wait but very greatful cupid is finally home where he belongs.
I really appreciate having this after hours emergency service. They were all very kind during a stressful situation when my dog got hit by a car. They were able to make him comfortable and kept me informed about his condition. As soon as your pet is stable though get them to your normal vet, same services for much less money.
The staff here was so kind and pleasant during my cats medical emergency. They explained how to give him the medication and what to watch for as we go through his healing process. Thank you so much, this is gonna be a permanent vet for my babies now!
I was very pleased with the prompt care my pet received. I was informed about her status every step of the way. No surprises. The staff was wonderful with my cat and I was completely satisfied with the care my pet received
this office is horrible. My sister went in to have her dog checked out. They ignored her concerns, didn't care that the dog was sick, and was running circles about giving her an answer. He ended up dying and we believe they did it on purpose. They don't care about the animals at all. And it's becoming prominently known.
When our dog Koda quickly started declining and her regular vet would not get her in for 2 weeks we went to Green Acres. I can't say enough about Meghan and Dr. Hess. Meghan showed sympathy and love to not only us but to Koda after we had to make a tough decision. They did not rush us and gave all the time we needed to be with her in her last moments. I am so grateful for them and how they helped us through. Highly Recommend.
My ex took her dog in for emergency service at 8 pm on May 27, 2021. She had to wait in the parking lot for over 2 hours, and never got to be in the building while he was being treated. NYS lifted the restrictions on owners being in the building, but Green Acres still holds on to the "no-entry, be afraid" policy. She didn't get the services she paid for. Customers need to be inside.
Have been using this place for years but over the last couple years the prices have continued to increase as the service decreased. Have noticed either a purge or exodus of personel from this facility and it shows. 4-1/2 hour and $300 later my dog seem worse than when I brought her in. We're done with this place as obviously their priorities lie in the hospital addition they're building and not staffing the current facility.
I cannot thank Green Acres enough for providing PU surgery for my cat " Butters" . The staff at Green Acres were " beyond" kind and the surgery went perfect and Butters is recovering well. Im sure when it comes to Pet owners and there loved ones its not easy especially when it comes to emergencies and sometimes the cost that can be involved ( which mine was very manageable) but Green Acres SAVED my cats life and me and my wife are forever thankful and Green Acres Veterinary Center will always be our FIRST CHOICE when it comes to our pet care. THANK YOU...BLESSED!
It was an emergency situation for our kitty Faith and everyone was supportive and efficient in caring for our baby as well as assuring us of her treatment. We felt welcome even though we had never been there before. Excellent!
After moving back to WNY from NC, this was our first time using Green Acres. They were quick and our dogs seemed to enjoy getting their shots and nails trimmed. OK maybe not the shots. We have found our vets going forward. Thank you GA
My dog had an emergent inpatient stay and was well cared for. They kept in communication with me and provided excellent care. I was not thrilled with the cost but what can you do when it’s emergent. I appreciated everything they did for my dog. They were very professional at all times which I also liked.
If I could do negative stars I would. I made the mistake of asking the vet a question that apparently she felt was Beneath her as she stated I’m a vet not the billing department and put me on hold. Was so arrogant and rude I was completely shocked The lack of professionalism is horrific
Worst business model of a veterinary practice that I have seen. They were willing to risk the life of a dear Pet because I could not be there to hand them a check. My sister‘s dog was ill and she did not have the money to pay for the urgent care needed. I was called and offered my sister the money to cover the bill. Citing the law which I am assuming they meant the patriot act, they would not except the check that I wrote and my sister took to them. I was unable to go to the facility myself so I provided a picture ID with the check. I talked to the supervisor, Krysta, who checked with the main office and stated this would be adequate. They then gave the check to my sister and told them it was declined. This clearly is not the case as the funds were drawn from my personal bank account from an American bank. And it should be noted that this is a local bank as well. It should be noted they were willing to take my personal credit card number over the phone without any identification being proven.
I am new to the practice but the times I was there, the Vet Tech Courtney and the Doctor were patient, answered all my questions and were kind to both myself and my fur babies. I am very happy I decided to have Green Acres care for our 2 beloved dogs! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a practice that has compassionate and knowledgeable staff. Just today I had unfortunately locked myself out of my car, as my keys fell out of my pocket before I had exited. During my visit, I explained to the Vet Tech Courtney what had happened and without hesitation, she said she would drive me and my 2 dogs home! I was so touched that she would do that knowing I would have to arrangements for a ride. Luckily, I do not live too far away. That was going above and beyond and I can't thank Courtney enough for her kind gesture!
We rushed our 15 year old cat to the ER on a busy Friday night. Even at the height of that busy night for them, my kitty and family were all cared for in such a wonderful way by everyone we met in the emergency room. We felt very welcomed and comforted in what was a scary and an uneasy situation.
We found a very wonderful staff. Very caring and thoughtful. Most of all we appreciated the Dr's kindness and understanding that we could not afford the tests our kitty needed to have.
I've gone there twice with my cat. First time because he hurt himself, second time because he wasn't doing well and I had to put him down. The staff there is so nice and so caring to you and your pet. They made everything comfortable for my blackie. I couldn't of asked for a better place to take him. If I ever get a new pet and I have an emergency they would be my first choice. They are a little expensive but the experience I had there was great for my cat. They truely care about animals.
This place is a scam. Took our dog there that got hit by a car. We were told we had to pay 100 just to see the dr. They took her back and called and said it was going to cost $1200 for them to trim and clean the wounds, take x-rays, do blood work, and giver her some pain meds and antibiotics. Since my dog was walking ok and didn't seem to be super uncomfortable I choose to just have them clean the wounds and give us the pain meds and antibiotics. That was another $400. We left and I felt ok about the experience seeing it was an emergency visit. The next day I was checking her over when she fell asleep and I noticed they only trimmed and treated on her legs. Between her legs and under the base of her tail still had pieces of blacktop and starting to get infected. We called back and was told that the dr who treated her was not working and if we brought her back up to have them do what we already paid them for, it was going to cost another $100 to see the dr. This is unacceptable. I understand sometimes these things happen but to not correct the issue when you clearly made a mistake is ridiculous. If you are in need of an emergency vet, I would suggest finding another place to go!
Excellent service for our sick cat in an emergency. Although they couldn't do anything for our cat to make him well they were very though on making a diagnosis and finding what was wrong. Sad that we lost our kitty.
Do NOT take your animal here for anything! If you need an emergency hospital go to the one in ochard park!!!
Great service! I was very nervous to bring my pet in, knowing I couldn't be with her, but the team had great communication and got her in and out very quickly. Putting my mind at ease during a time I was worried about my pet and unable to be with her was invaluable!
Very timely, got there at 7:15am on a Monday without an appointment, left at 9am. They got my dog's blood drawn, x-rayed, meds prescribed in less than 2 hours. Bill was $820. $105 for visit, $410 for bloodwork, $150 for 4 different meds, $155 for x-ray. Obviously process are subject to change.
Our dog had a 2 day stay at Green Acres for a medical emergency. She was well taken care of, the Dr’s called us with updates. The technicians were all very friendly and would inform us as to what was happening. They always took my call and answered all my questions. They seemed to really care about our pet. I was very happy with the care she received. I would definitely go back if another emergency arises.
Great experience with Green Acres Vets every time! Worth every penny
They were the only local vet that could get us in for an emergency. Their staff was extremely kind and informative.
After I paid the required $130 up front, I waited in my car for 2 1/2 hours with no update on my pet. When I called inside they offered me 2 options 1. $1300 full workup of x-rays and blood work or 2. Another $130 for fluids and medicine. They wouldn't allow use of their restrooms so after 3 hours and by midnight I chose option #2 and would not return.
Everyone there is so caring and friendly. Questions ate always answered so completely and in a way that makes you understand. Dr. Barnet goes beyond being a vet. She really cares about your pet and you. I recommend them very highly.
I'd give zero if I could. Money first, pet very far last on the list. Legal extortion is what going here feels like
Absolutely awful. We have unfortunately taken multiple dogs here. They have the highest "emergency fee" of all of the ER vets in the area, and we still came out of there without a diagnosis. They put "stomach pain when pressed" on our paperwork, but never told us before discharging our dog, never told us what was wrong with her, and then sent us home with antibiotics that weren't explained/properly filled. While we waited in the parking lot, we watched them discharge a dog who'd had surgery, and the dog was too weak to walk to the car, fell down in the parking lot suffering, and his stitches broke open and was bleeding in the parking lot. It took them over 5 minutes to actually come out and get the poor dog. Why would they think this poor dog was in any shape to be discharged?? Their judgement is off, and they are more worried about making money than they are about the well being of the pets that they are poorly caring for. After the spectacle last night, we will never, EVER, take another animal here again.
The girls up front were nice but the doctor was as unsympathetic as they come. This place doesn't care about your pet. Just your money. Before even doing any testing on my cat I was repetitively asked "can you afford 3 or 4k" ... Long story short i went 10 minutes away to another animal hospital and SAVED $2800 on the same exact procedure. Which was catheterizing the cat plus a 2 night stay. Unbelievable... I plan to stop in and talk with the manager. They also just built an unnecessarily huge building which they do not even use half of.
We had a middle of the night pet emergency and took our dog to Green Acres emergency. They saved our beloved Akita's life. Every staff member was perfect! They took such good care of our dog, kept us updated daily on his progress, and sent us home with clear instruction You saved our dog's life ! ❤
This review is for the business side of the practice. If your looking for a vet that you can trust to be fairly priced and not price gouge then this is the wrong vet for you. The place is about money first and foremost. Here is one example . My dog needed ciprofloxacin eye drops for an infection. They charged 15 dollars at that visit. The infection came back so he needed another bottle of the ciprofloxacin to just be picked up. They charged 88 dollars for that one. I didn't personally pick the drops up but as a Pharmacist I know the cost of those drops are a few dollars and are sold everywhere else by vets in the 5-15 dollar range. I know you could have asked for a prescription and gone elsewhere but the person picking the drops up trusted they were not going to price gouge. So after spending into the thousand dollar plus range over last few years on care there I called up and questioned that 88 dollars for a few dollar bottle of ciprofloxacin. The office manager treats you like everyone is just ignorant and tries BS like the first price is an error. When you call them out b/c a little research reveals the cost of the drops the manager just proceeds with more BS fed to her by the owner. When they run out of BS the owner who is to cowardly to talk to you on the phone instructs the manager to say that you have to pay for an appointment and come in to question a price so they can basically say that we charge what we want and have enough costumers. Always read a companies negative reviews to get a better idea what they are about b/c companies post a lot of fake positive reviews. A 4 star rating like green acres animal hospital is actually a poor rating. Good companies get well over 4.5. If they respond to this post it is 100 percent guaranteed BS.
My son took his seriously injured cat to the clinic. The said to sit in the parking lot and call upon arrival. He waited 4 hours for them to call. When he called back, the girl at the desk had his number wrong. Would you think they would come outside and see if he was there???? No. They got all of his payment info correct of course. He left his cat and they said she would be taken care of later with surgery. When he called the next day, she hadn't been into surgery yet and they were planning to take her into surgery at 1pm. Are you kidding me??? She could have died or at the very least gotten sicker before surgery. I would never...and I repeat NEVER take any of my pets there ever again!!! Way overpriced...not concerned about you or your pet. I am disgusted about the treatment they give. Stay away!!!!
Been to Green Acres/Northtowns Emergency Vet on three occasions. They are the closest to me. FIRST time they saved my dog's life from bloat. Very expensive but partly because I was cautious and I kept him there longer. But they did save his life. SECOND time the Dr. (was at night) was very nice helped my cat with what was just necessary to fix the issue. THIRD time more recently -during a day emergency-I felt the Doctor wanted to do so much to the point where I said is that really necessary? I'm sure he was trying to cover all bases but I believe he should have started with the basic remedies then if they don't work go on to the next. I had to tell him I didn't want all that done, I even wish I eliminated another one or two things. Basically these Emergency Vet's blow up the prices on treatments and want you to do all at once. And I understand that they are taking our pets at a moments notice and should charge a little more but.... My advice is start small then if the treatment doesn't work continue with the next-unless an extreme issue comes up of course. Also any prescription medicine/food you need have them write a script because you can get them much cheaper online if you can afford to wait a bit to get more refills. I thank goodness for these Emergency Vet's that are here when our regular Vet's are not available however I quiver to think how many pets were put down because of the high prices that people just can't afford upfront.
It's been almost 2 weeks since I lost my frenchie, Cloud on 9/30. I brought him to Green Acres at almost 6am. He died in the car on the way to I believe. When we arrived, we were in hysterics and had to pay $750 before we could even walk through the door (Understandable) but then when we handed my lifeless dog over, she proceeded to ask us if we wanted them to do CPR. We received no receipts, no invoice after paying for his ashes and paw. I was too upset to even care at that point. I was mentally checked out. Fast forward to Monday 10/4 and I receive a voicemail that his ashes are ready. I call from the parking lot when I arrive. After telling her that I'm here for Cloud's ashes, it was silent for a moment then she asked me my name. Silent again. Then she says "they thought his name was Booud" and I'm like "no it is Cloud" and it was silent again THEN she asks me if I wanted them corrected. I drove home crying. Fast forward to Friday 10/8, I haven't received a phone call yet for the correction so I call them. His ashes and paw are ready. The correction was beautiful and I'm happy to have my fur baby home. Please ensure your staff is properly trained and is able to empathize and provide customer service when needed. Another suggestion is that if they don't know the name of the pet, to call the owner and clarify. Do better please. ????
I took my to green acres late in the night. The Vet techs were very friendly and explained everything to me so that I could understand it. Dr. Park provided excellent care as well. Thank you Green Acres for helping my dog recover.
Doc Cory Howard took care of our Leo today. He was through and a great guy.
I like my vet here. I think she is very good. My issue is with how it is run as a business. I've been a customer for over 10 years and I've seen it slowly get a little worse over time. My two biggest complaints are the wait time when you have a scheduled appointment and the cost. I understand that vet care can be expensive but here you'll definitely pay top dollar and I'm sure you're getting quality care but you will pay every penny for it. I don't know if it's about location or all the factors that influence the prices they charge but in different areas of the country the same procedures will cost significantly less, potentially 50-60% less. I also have an example about prescriptions. They prescribed an antibiotic for my dog's UTI. The cost through the vet office was going to be $400. I was able to buy it through an online Veterinary Pharmacy with expedited shipping for $120. That amount of savings is a big deal for me personally. The other big issue is the wait time. That's been a long-standing issue and has gotten worse. I regularly have to wait an hour past my scheduled appointment time before I'm taken to a waiting room. And I have waited longer for scheduled appointments, like two hours past a scheduled appointment time. I fully understand that emergencies come up that can shift their schedule but as a working professional I also know that you can schedule in such a way to estimate the time for particular types of appointments and budget in time for emergencies and still maximize your dollar amount. I'm surprised that after all these years they have still not figured how to schedule and keep somewhere near to on time. I respect that I should be on time for my scheduled appointment and I would ask the staff for the same courtesy to respect my time as well. All in all if you have money to burn and all the time in the world this might be an okay option for you.
They were very compassionate with my elderly cats when the time came to say goodbye to them. They also have a lot of testing equipment so that my one cat was quickly diagnosed with a bladder tumor, and we didn't have to wait days or weeks to find out what was wrong with her. We didn't need to prolong her suffering. I take my current pets there now for well visits. They are very good with animals. They treated my boy cat last summer when he had a scratched eye, and he was all better in matter of a couple weeks. I would definitely recommend this veterinary hospital.
The doctor did rectal on my dog with long finger nails
I brought my dog in at 6pm due to her having pretty nasty green goop coming out of her eye, not to mention her eye was extremely red, and puffy. I called at 5pm to ask for their recommendation, as to bring her to the emergency vet or if it was something that could maybe wait to call our vet tomorrow. They said anything with eye is pretty serious, and it’s something that definitely should not wait. I called two different vets as well, just to be sure they both too said the same thing. Being green acres is the closest I took her there. I got there at 6pm, they said it’ll be a 2-3 hours. Little crazy but okay, 8:45pm rolls around. Still nothing I call I have two more pets ahead of me, and it should be another 2-3 hours. Absolutely annoyed at this point, because as I was there, I kept wiping my dog’s eye to clear the green goop. I see another person pull up, just for them to take their dog right away. Understandably so, could have been more serious. However, that dog appeared to be wagging its tail, happy to greet the vet tech at the door. I call at 9pm stating how another dog got taken right away. She then tells me, I have another 2-3 hour wait because they have more serious patients. So then why tell me, to bring my dog in because it shouldn’t wait until tomorrow?! Also, only one positive thing, I was able to get my $133 refund, that they should NOT be authorized to take UNLESS they ACTUALLY see your pet. Worst place I’ve ever dealt with beyond disgusted. Will NEVER do business ever again there. Disclaimer: I do feel horrible if pets were very worse off. I love my dogs as much as the next person so I can respect and understand that. However, a 4 hour that could have turned into a 6-7 hour wait. It’s DISGUSTING. Should have learned the first time, when we had to run our dog to ANOTHER ER vet because it took them two hours as she had an open wound on her back from being attacked by another dog. Oh but wait! “They have more serious patients” ????????
Charged me $130.00 to tell me my dogs temperature and that he was limping Which I brought him in for them to diagnose his medical issues this place and it's staff are a bunch of scam artist did not communicate it's $130 for a mandatory physical the extra for them to diagnose symptoms which that alone can range an extra $200 to$600 absolutely no help this place just looks to gouge money from people they care nothing about helping animals.
The staff was friendly, helpful, and compassionate, and made sure my concerns were addressed. The staff recommended and completed testing immediately so that I could be given an informed diagnosis as soon as possible, instead of a list of terrifying possibilities and a suggestion to come back for testing if my pet's symptoms didn't improve. I felt like the staff genuinely cared about my dog's health.
Horrible experience, my cat ingested detergent and they sat us in the waiting room for 2 hours.
We are super grateful to the staff at Green Acres for getting our baby in immediately. Also super grateful for a 24 hour emergency animal hospital close by! Lots of information was given and we brought our girl home well prepared for her care at home
Recently I lost my Baby Bubbles 6/26/2018. But I will always be grateful to the staff there at Green Acres. Dr. Bernat was so caring and professional all those previous years. I thank you always for all their caring and dedication. I am sure Bubbles appreciated it too. Thank you.
My cat was experiencing a medical emergency and he received amazing care from Green Acres. The staff communicated with me often and kept in mind the financial side of things while offering to help set up credit for his care.
They were nice up until the day came to bring my pet home after being there a while. Totally all about money! And Melissa at the front desk is impersonal, rude with attitude ( young oriental girl ) who then told me it would be a month for a follow up appt, unless I wanted to pay extra. ???? Get yourselves some caring, sincere employees. I felt like a number and treated unkindly., esp from the teenagers at the front desk. Treat people with respect. I just hope my pet was well cared for. 0stars for that!
I want to share a very very very very very bad experience happened last Friday. I waited in the car for more than one and half an hours. During the waiting time, I called the emergency number for several times. The front desk service always told me the doctor would take my cat shortly. I completely understand the current pandemic situation. But “shortly” doesn’t equals to close to two hours waiting. However, here in this hospital “shortly” equals to hours waiting. To be professional, the customer at least should be told of the actual estimated waiting time or how many pets are waiting in-front. If they told me I have to wait long for hours, I can accept that. I take the responsibility for my decision. However, my card was charged before the examination, I have no other choice but wait. Then after two hours, when I called again, I heard a different story. They said the emergency doctor had not come yet. I feel cheated! I should be told of the truth from the beginning. But I was cheated for several times during the past two hours. When I asked about the waiting hour, I was told I had to wait for about another half an hour. I asked that whether I can come back in 15 mins, the answer is NO, I have to wait here all the time. If I leave, my reservation will be cancelled, AND, I will not receive the fund immediately but have to wait for several days. But I was told “shortly” several times previously. You can think about these things and get a quick and easy conclusion that they want keep and secure every customer in whatever method, even though in a dishonest way. I complained in my last call. Complain really works in this hospital. AMAZING! Shortly (this time it is actually “shortly”) after that, I received a call from the technician that he will take my cat. But during the time, I did not see any doctor coming. Maybe they only wanted to comfort me, and I still needed to wait, or some other doctor took over the work to do the cat examination. But the truth is that I actually saw someone later than me but sent the pet in the hospital before me. I will never come to this hospital ANY MORE! I strongly suggest anyone who doesn’t want to wait hours without any noticing not come here any more. PS: To be honest, their doctors and technicians are professional although it is much more expensive than my expectation. Good news is everything is settled down finally. The rating is mainly based on the customer service and a little on the price.
The techs and receptionists were amazing. they cared for me and my animal a great deal. the vet seemed to have less answers and more of a sales pitch, but in the end we came up with a viable solution to kitty's issues. I’m happy with how compassionate most of the staff were, they even offered to donate a carrying case to bring him home in but kitty just wanted to be held. they wrapped him up and we prepared for the long night. the next day he was functioning and hydrated, even temp, and good color on his tongue. his paws felt moist, and i gave him his first outpatient meds. smuggled in his food, he ate them with no issues. i learned all of these care techniques from the team at Green Acres Veterinary Center. Great job Green Acres team.
The worst experience ever! Terrible time getting through on the phone when you arrive, after sitting for an hour and a half get a call asking if I'd like to have this test done which I declined, they call me back and tell me I should go somewhere else!! They tell me there are 2 puppies there with a highly contagious disease. Ok thats terrible but think that should be told before I sat that long! Seems suspicious that they say that after I declined the $150 test that I know my dog does not have. I will never go there again nor will i ever recommend this place.
They will drain you for every dime you got. Other clinics are more fairly priced. They are all about the dollar here and will threaten to take your pet if you do not pay upfront. They do not care if your pet lives or dies as long as they are paid period!
Our dog had a sudden onset of seizures over the weekend a few weeks ago. We were told by our regular emergency Vet to take our dog to Green Acres due to the fact that Green Acres was closer to our home. Our dog was not actively seizing when we arrived. I was told that he did not experience any seizures while at Green Acres over the 24 hour period that he was there. He was sent home with a very high dose of Keppra. No written discharge instructions, my husband was not informed when his next dose was to be given at the time of our dog's discharge. I called to find out as soon as he brought our dog home after his 24 hour stay. I asked for the written discharge instructions, was informed that they "do not give written discharge instructions". When I asked what time he should receive his next dose and why was the dosage so high for some reason the Tech thought this was humorous. I asked other questions such as can the medication be crushed etc.... since it was a very large pill. She wasn't sure how to answer. Seemed bothered by my questions about the medication. After some time of talking back and forth we both came to the conclusion that crushing or splitting the tablets might cause him harm since it is an extended release tablet. At one point admitted that maybe they were "too busy to print out discharge instructions" which confused me since earlier she said they don't print out discharge instructions. I found out what time he should have his next dose of medication. Figured leave the billing questions for the next day's phone call. Just wanted to take care of our dog from just getting home. With each phone call and during the original admissions I requested that our dogs medical records be transferred to our regular Vet. Each time the contact information for out Vet was put in their computer system, so I was told. The next day when I called about the bill questions they had nothing in their system of who our regular Vet was. I gave the information again and was told that they would transfer his records to our Vet. I requested to speak to a manager since I had billing questions. I was not given to the manager. Their billing is very questionable but their lack of professionalism and quality of care is more upsetting than the actual overinflated bill. Today I called to requests his medical records AGAIN since our Vet had nothing during our dogs follow up appointment. Finally sent over the records after we left our Vet. Was told that the manager would be calling me back. No return phone call was received. Our dogs medication dosage was not only high but it was not a medication that is typically given for first time seizures. There was no explanation of why they chose the medication they did even though I had asked the when he was first discharged home. In fact the employee chuckled when I asked questions concerning the medications. Our dog is being carefully weaned from the medication that they prescribed but under the watchful eye of our trusted Vet. We are getting an emergency prescription made by a compound pharmacist to be able to avoid having to take our dog to Green Acres should he experience another seizure during non business hours of our trusted Vet. We are taking this precaution due to the fact that we would prefer to not be forced to take our dog to Green Acres solely due to the fact that it is 10 minutes closer to our home than the Emergency Vet we usually would go to. We are being proactive since we do not trust Green Acres to give our dog emergency quality care if needed in the future. Very disappointed with Green Acres even though I tried to communicate with them our concerns. I feel at this point that I have no choice but to be writing a detailed complaint to the AAHA and NYS Veterinary licensing board. Green Acres doesn't seem to be too concerned with quality of care but are very concerned about making sure they get every dollar they can from their clients. Proven by that the fact the only thing our dog came home with was a very highly priced bill for services.
Dr. Rottstock saved my boy's life. I brought him in when an unknown tumor on his spleen ruptured. He was bleeding internally and shouldn't have made it. They were able to get us in right away (5:30 AM) and Dr. Rottstock was so compassionate while thoroughly explaining our options. She successfully performed his splenectomy. He was there for three days and the entire team was great, easing my mind when I would call every few hours to check in on him. Of course emergency care is expensive but that is to be expected. I am eternally grateful for Green Acres and everyone who had a part in saving my best friend's life - thank you!!!
Hi. We had to bring our cricket cat in for an emergency visit on Friday 8/30. The wait was 6 hours. I am fortunate that we live a block away and due to personal issues they let us run down there when we were next in line. I have a great deal of respect for the tough environment that is emergency vet. In watching people come and go while cricket was being seen I believe two animals probably had to be put to sleep. We have dealt with dr Cody before as well as dr bernat. Love them both. This visit I had the good fortune of having dr Hess attend to cricket and he was equally professional and fair in treatment. I know your place sometimes gets bad reviews but I just wanted to say thanks for all you do. I do hope that you hire some more vets soon, and that the new addition opens soon!
This was our first time using Green Acres for boarding and I am so thankful there was a doctor there! My dog was not feeling well while we were out of town and Dr. Parkhill called me to let me know that Sam was not feeling well and if they could give him medicine. It is good to know that if anything happens with your animal someone is always there watching them and there to help!
These people should be ashamed of themselves for what they did the the poor family of Jethro. I am beyond words that they would send something like this without thinking apparently or using common sense or decency! I am so sorry for your loss Jess Gallagher!
The treatment my pet receives is exemplary. My only issue is the telephone. If there is no line available for an incoming call, you get a message that voicemail is not set up. What I find most annoying is that you're not even placed in a queue, so you can call and call and not get anyone on the other end while someone who calls once can get through. Not very comforting when you consider my pet may have an emergency.
please people do not go there....I am familiar with a sitaution that happened not long ago. Someone with a perfectly healthy two year old dog came in and wanted to put their dog to sleep because they were moving and did not want to take the dog with them. Someone there offered to adopt the dog , pay for its expenses and was told NO by management. That is HEARTLESS. They would rather KILL the dog then let someone offering a good home take him. There are no words that I can describe how I feel towards the people surrendering the dog and the management there. (none that I can post) Shame on the lazy cold hearted people who couldn't find a good home for the dog, and for the vet that would not allow the dog to be adopted out by the person willing to take it. Hell is too nice a place for them !!! AND people that bring their dogs there for boarding, don't bother to bring in those cute little blankets from home for your pet while they stay there. The staff is too lazy to let them have them just in case they pee on them, they don't want to have to wash them.. This place is awful and so are most of the people that work there. They should be shut down. There is a great er vet in orchard park, worth the ride...They saved my dogs a few times, are friendly and caring, have visiting hours while your pet is there and have a very well educated staff. They are not all about $$$$ and will find the best way to work with you. They are a godsend, I will never go anywhere else.
Green Acres was amazing! Every staff member was caring, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. Our fur baby Shep had to stay three days in their care. They called us with updates, encouraged visits, and took our calls to answer questions all hours of the evening. We highly recommend their animal hospital to anyone in need. We will forever be grateful to them for giving us our puppy's life back to us. Shep adored each staff member… Thank you!
A few months back my dog had got hit by a car, so green acres was the closest near me. At first getting there I thought it seems like a nice hospital until they told me my pup had to wait in the car with me because she looked stable and they said it would be an extra fee, that I couldn’t really afford. Then eventually after running tests and x-rays they said that she looks stable and they don’t see any breaks or anything, they then said the would want to keep her overnight but it was an estimated price anywhere between $2,500-$3000. Something I could afford to do so I grabbed her prescriptions and was sent with $1000 bill. I followed everything they told me to do to make sure to not put my pup though anything that could cause any discomfort. Fast forward a week and she seems to be in much pain and her meds were gone i mad her an emergency vet appointment at my vet and they did some more x-rays and he elbow was indeed fractured and had been since. We had too spend two months in physical therapy and she will always have a limp.
They did great diagnosing my dog and giving him all the treatment he needed just a little pricier than I would've like it to be. The care for my pet with updates was great. Came in for emergency didn’t have to wait too long.
I waited 11 hours for an X Ray for my dog, paid over $2,000 and got no answers! Throughout the 11 hours the only communication I received from Green Acres was to tell me how much money I owed. When I picked up my dog after his X Ray, Valerie refused to answer any questions I had and would not let me talk to the Vet after spending over $2,000!!! She told me that I was supposed to take my dog to Orchard Park for a second opinion and that I had to take him directly there to spend the night. He was stable and had been stable for a month living with his injury. I pleaded with Valerie to bring him the next morning instead, but she yelled that I had to bring him now and he had to spend the night. I got off the phone with Green Acres and called Orchard Park. They told me that they never said that he had to spend the night and that Valerie was lying. I left Green Acres with no paperwork and no receipt. They have still not provided with me with paperwork documenting their findings from the X Ray. I have never felt so disrespected in my entire life and I truly feel that they do not care at all about animals. Zero Compassion and Awful Communication. Update: I have been to 3 other Vets which have all said that the X rays are unreadable and blurry. Green Acres sent out the X rays for a third party opinion. But I am still waiting for written notice of if the X Rays are clear.
Service was quick. Kept us updated on each step along the way. Next best thing to being inside during the appt. They take good care of my babies.
We’ve been taking our dogs there since 2017 - we had been incredibly happy there, and with Dr. Parkhill in general. In recent times though, the care has been less than stellar. Our issues really started in May of 2020. First off, they still don’t allow pet owners into the building. I completely understood it, because we were (and are) still in the middle of a pandemic. However - with all things open at this point, I don’t understand why owners are not allowed to mask up and accompany their pets in. It’s so stressful for some animals to go in there without their owners and the people who make them feel safe. Our old girl, Coco, fell and tore her cruciate ligament in May 2020 - we brought her in to the emergency vet, and I had to wait in the car. It was about 90 degrees outside and I was 8.5 months pregnant with twins. I asked if I could come in JUST to use the restroom after being in my car for almost 3 hours and they said no. In total, I waited in my car for her for 5 1/2 hours while they x-rayed and examined her. Five and a half. It was absolutely insane. My biggest issue now, is what happened with my new goldendoodle puppy. We purchased the Puppy Package for her, which includes her guest year of vaccines, her spay, her microchip, and one month of flea/tick/heartworm meds. She was spayed on 9/21 - she had to stay overnight due to some complications during the surgery. No big deal - we were happy they wanted to keep her overnight for monitoring. When we brought her home, I was looking through the bag of stuff they sent her home with; pain meds, flea/tick/heartworm meds, ear cleaner since her ears were a mess, and a rabies tag. I was confused because they had given me a rabies tag 2 weeks prior at her second visit for the second round of booster shots she needed. I looked at the breakdown of services from her surgery and overnight stay. On the paperwork, it reflected that she received her distemper vaccine (da2pp), Lyme, leptospirosis, and rabies. I called the office because she had already gotten all of those, including the 2 week booster. The girl at the front desk looked and very nonchalantly said “oh, yeah it looks like they accidentally gave them all to her again”. I asked how that happened and she said “it’s not a big deal, it was just an oversight on the lab techs part” .. it’s no big deal? It’s no big deal that someone “overlooked” all of that? I’m a registered nurse, and if we “overlook” that someone got their meds already, and we double mediate them… it’s a big deal. A huge deal, actually. She said she was sending a message to Dr. Beisinger (the vet who spayed Stella) to make sure we didn’t need to worry about her getting over vaccinated - I asked if he could call me directly so I could express my concerns to him - and, unsurprisingly, he didn’t call back. They are an extraordinarily large practice - recently expanding their emergency side and adding a doggy daycare. They obviously cannot handle the size of the practice anymore. We’ll be looking for a new vet, as our confidence in them is officially non existent, now.
My beloved dog had become very unpredictable in the last few months. Unfortunately there's little known about this dog breed as they get older because they don't normally live to be over a year old. Multiple attempts have been made to try to correct behavior of growling and snapping, however he ended up biting a child in the face. I called greenacres and asked if I could bring him in for euthanization. I was told yes that's fine. This was one of the most horrific decisions I've ever had to make in my life. We got there and we're then told that without a police report the vet would not put down and otherwise healthy dog. Do they actually think that I would take my dog in the middle of the night to an emergency vet to be put to sleep for no reason? I said that he had bit a child in the face and needed to be euthanized. And they absolutely refused because he had no medical history and we didn't have a police report stating so. The child was in the hospital at that exact moment. We had no choice. It would have been recommended to euthanize anyways because of a dog bite to a child's face. I just can't believe the complete lack of compassion they gave while trying to explain that you need to put your dog to sleep. It's the hardest decision of my life and I felt like I needed to defend myself. I took my dog to another emergency vet and they talked me through everything and understood why he needed to be put to sleep. They did not judge me or make it seem like I wanted to just kill my dog. That experience was wonderful. Greenacres? Never again.
I got a new kitten from the SPCA a week ago, he is only 2 months old. I was skeptical that he had a respiratory infection because he was sneezing a lot and overall more tired than usual. After a couple days, he completely stopped eating. I was soo worried and was trying to get him to any emergency vet possible. Every single place was telling me “he needs to see a vet ASAP” but nobody would take him. After going to two different places and being told it would be a 6-8 hour wait, i came to Green Acres. They originally told me that it might be a 3 hour wait but i had no issue waiting that long because it was better than 6. After i got there, i talked over the phone with the nurse and when i told her that my kitten was only 2 months, she immediately went and talked to the doctor and they took him in IMMEDIATELY!!! unlike the other places who didn’t seem to care too much that my kitten hasn’t eaten in over 48 hours. They were so beyond helpful. The doctor called me himself and gave me different options on how to treat him! Instead of waiting 6+ hours, we were in and out in 2!!! Thank you so so much for helping my little Toby !
The staff was really great and informative. The prices are expensive (as to be expected with emergency medicine), and the team had alternate care options for me that were more within my budget. The veterinarian was very kind and explained everything well.
The price we were charged was half as much as we expected. We put a deposit down and we were refunded over $700. Dr. Park was very kind to us as well as the rest of the staff. I would absolutely recommend them for emergency services!
While waiting 5 hours with my cat, I finally was able to hand my cat over. An hour later...was called "cat in distress". I know, that is why I brought him there. The asked to run test and had to wait for the estimate. Estimate came in, then waited another hour or so. Vet called me and gave me two ways of treatment. Of course I want my cat well, said yes, Hydrate him. I then had two wait for another estimate...They told me $3000. for two nights of hydration and meds. I was then told I could pick him up in two days at midnight. So I called the next day..(no call from the vet), the vet called me at 2 pm. Cat is feisty, but not eating and tried to upsell me more test. I said no, but I would like a full accounting of the fees and the treatment my cat. (My cat has had this same issue a few years back...just needed hydration). Next day come along, I had to call again. Vet stated that he still haven't seen him but the tech said he still wasn't eating (this was at 2 pm)...So for $3000 what am I paying for? I told the vet, I am taking him home. I will be picking him up in an hour. The vet then told me that they will knock some money off the estimate. Well the final bill was higher than the estimate, so no money really knocked off. I should of just had taken the first way of treatment, for him to get immediate hydration under his skin and took him home. My option, they just need the money for the new addition. Just beware, they have you by your emotions (along with your credit card). Got my cat home...He went right to his litter box, did his business, then came running for his wet gravy cat food, and snuggled with his bigger brothers (dogs).
Its a great idea of what they are trying to do for animals. After driving over a hour to get there you have to wait in your car and call they come out and immediately collect 133$ just to be seen. Then we waited 6 more hours for them to take the cat only for them to call us and say they need to run blood test that will cost 377$ more and still weren't sure if they could help if it was his kidneys. Very disappointing. Staff was nice just seems like a money grab I get it thats how they make money just didn't seem like the time they spent was worth it for what we got $
Have a 17 yr cat that is losing control of her peeing. She’s peeing on furniture so we called to have Her put down but they wanted to do a 120$ dollar physical first for what reason. Also 200$ euphenasia fee for administering a shot. Go elsewhere this place is in it purely for the money aspect. SAD!
Green Acres helps me feel confident about the care of my beloved dog. Everyone who works there is always kind, caring, and considerate. Dr. Bernat always makes me feel heard and takes time to thoroughly answer all of my questions. I always know I'm in great hands, and I leave each appointment feeling as if Green acres truly cares about the well-being of both my pet and me. I would recommend this veterinary office to anyone!
My dog passed on. They creamated him at a reasonable cost. They also made a footprint of my sweet Buzzlightyear who we have loved and enjoyed. He was 105 in dog years and a beautiful cockapoo. I will always remember him. They also wrote a beautiful condolence for my little sweet Buzzy. They made the process easier. They took excellent procedures for covid also. Going to miss him... At least he lived a long, happy life! He was an Energizer to remember! Thank you so much Green Acres Veterinary!
This is by far the worst veterinarian in this area! After spending over 1000 dollars and got no answers as to what was wrong with my fur baby all I got was maybe it’s this or maybe it’s that nothing was for certain no concrete answers! So they said he needed fluids so they said we can give him a shot of fluids and antibiotics to help and after that I took him back home and that same night he had 5 seizures and became so weak that he couldn’t stand or walk he also lost his eye sight ! So I called them back that night and told them what was going on and of course they again couldn’t give me any answers without seeing him again which they said it would be another $133.00 to see him and again not get any answers again ! They don’t care about them our fur babies all they care about is money and ripping people off I had to make the most difficult decision that next day ! Do not go here I don’t recommend at all
I was pleased with the care given to my cat, who had an emergency situation. I appreciated the doctor taking the time to explain everything and give me the option to choose what I thought was best for my cat
The staff are wonderful and the vet is very nice and thorough but the prices they charge are outlandish! Who has over $900. To get a cat spayed? This is the reason for 2 stars
I will never take my animals here again. Not only was the staff rude, but they neglected my dog. There were many concerns I had brought up that were not addressed by the vet. I was shuffled back and forth between here and Wheatfield Animal Hospital and was pushed off multiple times. Ultimately, my 5 year old died and the OWNER OF THE PRACTICE called me and was not able to give me an answer as to why. He said himself he was shocked. I spoke with the manager- who was actually very nice and she genuinely seemed like she cared. I spoke with staff on 10/5/21 to see if my dogs ashes were ready. He died 9/25/21. They told me he wasn’t. An old coworker of mine saw a Facebook post about my dogs ashes and informed me that her coworker got a mistake call about “Coppers ashes being ready” last week. I called today and they told me HIS ASHES WERE READY ON 9/30. They called the wrong person, AND obviously did not check to see if my dog was ready when I called on 10/5. I am thoroughly disappointed in this practice.
I've had two experiences here. One was an emergency in the middle of the night when I called and took my pet in right away. The other was an appointment that was relatively urgent but could be seen the next day so we made an appointment. Both times they were excellent. Everything really. Communication was great. Staff was very kind and polite. Exam and treatment were thorough and well explained. Medications and instructions were clear. The process was efficient even with COVID protocols.
The most horrible experience of my life. They could pay me and it wouldn't bring a worm to them let alone my dog. Im contacting the state attorney generals office and the better business beauro's office. Crooks and criminals. Every time I talked to someone I got different answers.
When I brought my dog here they took excellent care of him. Then I took my diabetic cat here to get her insulin and some bloodwork done, and charged me nearly $500 and forgot to give me her insulin so then added over $200 to my bill, and told me to up her dose of insulin and she ended up getting extremely sick from this so I brought her to another vet and they said her insulin dose should never be that high and it could have killed her. Green Acres did not give me any information on what they were charging me for or what they did to “help” her, and did not even give me any information/receipt for what had been done that day.
Very unqualified vet told us our puppy had a heart issue and had to go see a heart specialist. So after a thousand dollars later and taking a whole day off to go to the heart doctor we were told by the heart specialist that our puppy had an extremely healthy heart" the best she has ever seen" and nothing was wrong with him and we have never had an problem since. Due to the vet which we now believe was just a vet tech because it was late at night when we brought our dog in and they were probably short handed so they threw in this lady to play doctor for the night made a thousand dollar mistake and made us think we bought a puppy with a bad heart who wasn't going to live long . She also told us not to breed our dogs that they genetically are not fit due to this so called bad heart and she even tried telling us that our pugs were not real pugs, which I've had pugs my whole life, i think I know and the breeders we got the pug puppies from know what a pug is and their papers are legit. The heart specialist who has dealt with dogs for 40 plus years also told us both dogs were very fit to breed. Hopefully the lady playing vet for the night has found a new profession and doesn't ruin anyone else's head or wallet. All she talked about was how much she paid to be a vet and how she was the best. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!! Once I retrieve her name from our paperwork I will update this review.
Let me tell you that our fur-baby's dire situation has left us feeling helpless and depressed, but yet hopeful. The Green Acres entire team, every single person, every single day, every single shift, over the last two weeks, has shown kindness, compassion, professionalism. Pet ownership has increased significantly during the pandemic. Meanwhile, fewer people relinquished their pets during that time, so all of the existing and new needed ongoing care. As we worked from home and spent more time with our pets, we've had more opportunities to notice bumps, limps and other ailments that could typically go untreated. Vets were already struggling to meet the pre-pandemic demand, with veterinary schools unable to churn out enough doctors and techs to fill the void. Emergency veterinary care can be a difficult job under normal circumstances, it's nearly untenable during these times. I've worked in a lot of fields, held different types of jobs, in various organizations with different teams. I've worked in customer service. I've interacted with customers that are figuratively drowning - where their survival instinct is running full speed, and they don't even realize they are drowning you as their survival instinct causes them to try to use you as a floatation device while you are trying to help them. And those jobs I had were not in a medical field. My experience in customer service leads me to know that some clientele "are from hell," and some "have been through hell": - Those clients that "are from hell" will never be satisfied and always rude. - Those who "have been through hell" are normally kind, polite, generous individuals, who, through a series of unfortunate incidents, are now at the end of their rope and short tempered - you've caught them at the end of many horrible and frustrating experiences. A lot of people (including members of the Green Acres' own team) "have gone through hell" these last 20 months. And we who have gone through hell now have a sick "child", and we land at their door. In my observations over the last two weeks, the Green Acres team presents the same kindness, compassion and professionalism of those that "are from hell" and those that "have been through hell." Because, well, sometimes you can't tell which is which, and you need to give the benefit of the doubt, and treat everyone with compassion and kindness even when they show you little or none. Because, that is the job when you are in a life-critical field. To make a career in emergency care, it's not a job, it's a lifestyle. The Green Acres team is "all-in". We feel hopeful because a team is as strong as its weakest link -- ALL of Green Acres' links are STRONG. We feel helpless because, at least for me, my career of many decades has been built upon being the problem-solver, the solution provider, the fixer. We can bring no solving, no solution, no fixing to our fur-baby. But the Green Acres team can. Their team can. Each and every individual on their team is a link in our fur-baby's support. Each staff are all so very inter-connected in the ecosystem of their emergency practice. Their team is giving us hope. We want to be part of the team. The team that supports our fur-baby and all the other helpless and frustrated and frightened people that come to their door. The only way we could think to be part of their team is to provide some support to the Green Acres team. Support in the form of sending food - which we have done. To write reviews of their services, which I am doing now. The veterinary staff at Green Acres are one of the few in the area that provide 24x7x365 emergency services. Right now, the demand for their services and on their limited resources is catastrophically high. I know you are scared, frightened, feeling helpless when you come to their door. They are all doing the best they can. Please try to be kind to them. We don't want to make these precious critical-care employees decide to leave the veterinarian field when we need them the most.
Cat was treated wrong, had to bring her back then got correct treatment. Multiple calls from her real vet to get chest x ray and labs but never receive chest x ray. I myself also called and requested records to be sent never happened. Staff was unmasked upon giving my cat back. Was charged 2,000 for 2 visits first demanded 500 dollar deposit. Second trip was told she needed to be hospitalized for 1 night for an additional 1500.00. Took her to her real vet she has laryngitis and upper respiratory infection so the second treatment Green Acres gave her will help. They had no compassion or empathy and just wanted money. Didn't care about me or my cat. Never going back. Would not recommend anyone ever take something with a pulse there.
Everyone was really kind and helpful and took great care of my dog . I loved how willing they were to look into any problems that she may have been experiencing even if it wasn't the main problem.
Worst experience at a vet i’ve ever had. Charge $133 prior to even seeing my dog, kept me waiting in the car 2 hours before they took him in, then didn’t do a fecal examination on the sample we brought in which was the only reason we took him in for. After taking my dog in, they tried to charge me $500 for blood work (even though I took my dog in because he had been having diarrhea???) and didn’t give him a single sip of water the entire time. He came out extremely dehydrated. Overcharged me another $200 for a script of antibiotics, and attempted to charge me for an X-Ray as well. Do not take your animal here, these people are crooks and will over charge you and keep you waiting for hours. I wish I had read the other reviews people left before taking my dog here.
The doctors were extremely caring about how much I had gone through personally and then the death of our furr baby was so overwhelming..they listened and let me grieve..helped me make decisions that needed to be made but also gave me time to do so. When my pup got very sick with a rare disease (Addisons)7 years ago.. they took amazing care of him. And made sure we had a good long adventure with our baby boy. Thank you Green Acres staff and doctors ❤❤
For a busy ER, they did a great job. If we ever need emergency vet care again, we would go back. The gentle customer service when we were in absolute panic mode was very helpful.
We brought our dog into the facility on New Year’s Eve. He was 10 years and like a child to my husband and I. From the minute we arrived onsite they had a bed waiting for him and two techs helping him into the facility. The doctor was extremely knowledgeable about the health of our dog. He ended up having cancer and other issues which caused him to crash very quickly while we were there. The staff was extremely professional and caring to the loss of our dog Friday night. I am forever grateful that our dog did not suffer and was in good hands. I am Glad I listened to the nurse and brought him In when we did. We received his paw print today and I cried of course. But it was so beautiful the way they made it special for my family. I have never dealt with an emergency clinic that actually cared.
We brought in our 9 week old kitty after our dog attacked her. It was extremely traumatic to see the kitty in that state and I thought she was going to have to be put down. Dr. Hess (not sure if I spelled it correctly) saved her life! He was extremely helpful when my husband and I talked to him. He was super patient with us as my husband was working but had questions for him and he spoke with each of us separately, several times. He provided multiple updates and was always very honest about the state of our kitty. We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Hess. He was super nice, professional, and understanding of our situation. It has been several weeks since this happened but our kitty was back to acting like her normal self within the first week post-attack and she is doing better than ever now. Thank you so much Dr. Hess!!
Usual for emergency vet medicine. High cost for typical treatment. If its an emergency and your usual vet is open try to go their first. Will save you literally hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Theirs a reason they built that nice expansion and its because these people make lots and lots of money. These people tried to charge me over $3000 for my dog to stay for 1 night. When we couldn't afford it they tried to peddle a loan on us. Souless creatures
When my dog was in need of emergency care your staff was open and happy to help me and my girl when everyone else was closed or had a 4hr wait time. I appreciate everything the staff did for my dog and kept me updated by calling me since covid makes going into the examine difficult. You got her into the examine quickly and didn’t leave me waiting too long to know the details of her injury. Thank you to all of the night staff for going above and beyond to help all the pets who need after hours care!!
We brought our little dog blaze today to be seen for an infection he got in his neck and even though we couldn't afford the prices they were asking they still kindly work with us so that we could at least give him some type of treatment meds in hope that it clears up beyond helpful in this situation I would highly recommend them to anybody that has a pet (child) emergency on the weekend the landlord will have to understand our only child still home needed help why his brothers our training In the navy God bless yous thank yous all Blaze ya dead homie seems to acting lot better tonight already he ate and drank more than he did yesterday Thank yous
They did an excellent job finding what was wrong with our two 7mo kittens, in regards to a stomach blockage other vets couldn't find. They went above and beyond, and made sure when we left we knew how to follow up to make sure they were safe and out of danger. We will happily go back for future needs, and definitely recommend them!
This place shows they don’t care about animals they just care about money, my dog is a diabetic And we do everything and anything for him, chewy.com is late on his perception dog food and kindly asked if they can sell me a bag of the food and I would have my vet call them and approve it, they rejected me and said because I’m not a patient they won’t sell it to me and would rather just let me dog not get the value he needs. Shows how much heart you guys have for animals.
The staff was very friendly even when they were very busy. The person who brought my dog out to me when I picked him up did not go over any instructions with me however. I had to call the next day to speak with a tech. She was very friendly and happy to help and apologized for the lack of communication at pick up. Very friendly Everytime we spoke. Told me it was ok to call for updates and did not seem bothered when I did.
Very busy but professional as they come. Dr. Kimberly Brown is there for the animals. Her heart is as big as her skill set. She recommended my dog rest up & tested him based on her area knowledge regarding ticks. Thanks to her my buddy Jerry is getting better & my mind is at ease! Cure bandage to boot!
So yesterday I brought my French bull dog to this vet clinic. Long story short, my dog ended up dying. They chose not to treat her because I did not have the money for them to keep her over night. I brought her in at 9:30am thinking she had a seizure but ended up being a gastric issue. They took my dog in the back right away, they brought me in a room. I saw the doctor for 2 seconds, he wanted to do blood work and a x-ray. Just for that it was almost $700.00. This did not even include the treatment she may need. Once I told them that I did not have 700 and only about 500, they took out the x-rays. They did a lower panel blood work, put her on IV and gave her a short for her stomach. The doctor came back in the room, was very vague...told me my dog was very sick and she should be hospitalized. Mind you, he didn't really get into detail about what exactly she had. He told me that she was pooping out bloody diarrhea. When he left, the vet tech came back and showed me the estimate for the overnight, which could of got to 1300.00 (this didn't include the over 400 bill I already paid). I had asked them if I could put some money down but would they be willing to set up a payment plan. I was told no. They told me to keep my dog warm, try to keep her hydrated and I had the option to call my vet in the morning. They even gave me medication to give her but she wouldn't even attempt to eat or drink. Once they were getting ready to discharge her, the doctor called me in and said her blood work was really elevated. I expressed to him that I wanted my dog to get better but I did not have the money up front. So again, he told me to call the my vet in the morning and he was not here to judge. He also said if she gets worse through the night I could bring her back and they could put her to sleep. So I said ok not realizing what was about to happen. They brought her out to me and told me that blood was still coming out of her butt, they literally wrapped her in a pee pad and sent us on our way. I started on my way home, my dog was out of it, I could literally hear the blood coming out of her butt, it was everywhere. I had turned around and went back to the clinic, walked in hysterical asking for help, direction, something. They brought me in the room with the doctor again and it was like I was bothering him, like he was annoyed. I asked him if she would make it through the night and he just shook his head at me like she could, she could not. I looked at him and said she is suffering and his response back to me was "yah well her stomach hurts." I left there in disbelief. I drove home, got her in my living room, wrapped her in a blanket and not even 20 minutes went by and she passed away. This was around 2:30pm-3:00pm. Not to mention my 9 year old daughter was there to witness it and that was what I was trying to avoid. I understand that my dog may have been sick but the lack of care, how insensitive, unprofessional and in humane this doctor was. NEVER in my life would I have thought I would have had my dog die in my living room all because of not having enough money. Myself and my daughter are devastated. She was a HUGE part of our family, our best friend. All because I didn't have all the money upfront. I still cannot wrap my head around what happened yesterday. The doctor was Jeffrey Tingue, you go into a profession to help animals, instead you turned your cheek, even in a serious case. He knew what would happen walking out of that clinic, but it didn't matter. No dog should have to go through what mine did yesterday.
I called to get a quote to euthanize my dog. My quote on the phone was roughly $400. I took a half day off of work. When I got there they took there examination fee before they saw the dog. As I waited in my vehicle they called me and told me it would cost almost $1000 to euthanize my dog. None of this felt right to me.
Haven't taken my pets there yet their expansion is quite impressive
Took my dog in once for an emergency. It was around 3am & she had SEVERE fluid buildup in the lungs. We hesitated to even take her in because we know how much this place charges anyways. My dog had been throwing up several times, to the point where she got so week she began to stumble. Luckily they got her in quick, and they put her on oxygen and took an X-ray. Which didn’t stop or prevent the fluid from building up around her lungs. Because when we got the call that they wanted to keep her overnight (would’ve been charged a “cool” $2000 plus the additional $500 for a single X-ray and about 30 minutes worth of oxygen.) we decided to take her back home because we couldn’t afford it AND THEY DIDNT EVEN GIVE THE DOG A DIURETIC TO HELP WITH THE FLUID. They gave her back to us, and it was as if we had never even went to the place. We walked out at 4am with a dog that was suffering, and it could’ve been stopped by a diuretic pill that costs $12 for a bottle of 60. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because they told US... yes US to give her the diuretic when got home, and without that $500 piece of knowledge our dog would’ve most likely died. They know they are one of the only animal hospitals in the area, and they act like it. Sad that some of the caring veterinarians in there have to be part of a business that just stinks.
They make way too many mistakes! They sold me a package then when i try to use it they said they sold me the wrong one. that isnt my fault. thats theirs!!!! they also told me i was ok to pick up my pet and when i got there 20 minutes later they said they couldnt release him as the tech didnt do her job and sent me home. 25 minutes later- they called back again and said that they messed up and i could come back to get my pet. totally mismanaged and i will be seeking services elsewhere. its a shame too as the vet is fabulous. its just the rest of the place that is a mess and mismanaged
Will never go there again. Picked up my dog from an emergency visit, only to find when we got home they didn't bother to give us his medication. So we have to drive back and get that. Then later in the night I'm going to put the dog to bed. Find there's still an IV in his arm. They discharged my dog with medical equipment still on his body. So I had to take him back again at 11:30 pm in the thunder and lightning so this incompetent medical staff could fix their second blunder. Go literally anywhere else
If I could give negative ratings I would. $2200 spent on a bogus diagnosis of a foreign body in my dogs abdomen causing abnormal liver levels and bacterial infection. Quoting $3600-6400 for just an over night stay for testing and observation. A second opinion at OP Vets that afternoon, confirmed our dog had nothing of the sort, just a simple bacterial skin infection causing his liver levels to rise. Then they refused to release the script to Chewy for the antibiotics for his skin infection. Wanting us to spend almost $150.00 more to have it filled by them. Luckily we had the money to get our dog fixed up with the correct 2nd diagnosis. The fear mongering they did to pay obscene amounts of money or put our dog down for not having the financials was grotesque. I absolutely loath that office and its lying, conniving, heartless staff. During a global pandemic they tried to make obscene amounts of money over a misdiagnosis. They had no shame. The office manager refused to call me back, refused to refund any type of money. I wouldn't send my mortal enemy there, little alone a defenseless animal of any kind.
Accepted my pup as a patient when we were turned down by all the other emergency vets due to high volume! Superior care! Long wait to be expected tho! Highly recommend!
Took my cat to be seen since she wasn't walking right to be told that nothing was wrong. Took her to my regular vet since she still was walking weird and my vet was able to diagnose an ear infection. The vet at Green acres noticed that the ear was dirty and only cleaned it. I will never take any of my pets to this location and will make sure to tell every person I know who has pets not to take them there. Especially paying 500 for them to say nothing was wrong when that wasn't the case.
Horrible experience. Brought my 9 year old dog in who hurt his leg. They said he needed a $6,000 surgery and would be on bed rest for a year. Took him home and gave him cbd treats and he was fine. Always trying to make you do unnecessary tests and charging through the roof for everything. Gotta pay for that expansion building somehow
Ridiculous wait times. I understand emergency medicine well. Technicians standing around eating talking no masks on YET I can't be with my pet. Sat in the car 8 hrs. For treatment that should have taken a maximum of 2.5 hours. Veterinarian was kind, thorough but would never go here again if I wasn't forced to. I would love the chance to manage this clinic Boy would there be a rude awakening. Efficiency is key.
The care here isn’t terrible, but they price gouge really bad. They always want to keep your pet overnight when it’s rarely needed just to rack the bill up. You overpay for services. I wouldn’t come here unless it’s a night or weekend and you really just have no other choice. And then be prepared to be taken to the cleaners.
Dr. Burnat was an incredible, caring, professional. She saved my dogs life. The staff is very helpful, and the Vet tech explained every detail of treatment. My dog was in the hospital there for 4 days & I will be forever grateful for their service.
I have been coming here for years-very professional and friendly staff--i had a hard case for the vets to figure out for my dog, All 3 of them pulled together there thoughts and came up with a plan for her. i was very satified, i take all of my animals to them now---the only thing i wish they had was a discount price if you bring more than 2 pets to them--not overly priced, but could a bit better.
They were so kind, everyone was sorry for my loss. Would recommend them for anyone who needs their service
My 8 yr old dog was going to die, but thankfully we were givin options to save her life. Surgery is done and now she is back home. She is my number 1 concern. They made my families life a bit easier. Very Thankfull
Overall the visit was ok considering it was an ER visit. We were at the hospital for almost 5 hours which was unexpected. Reception was very friendly but told everyone waiting they were next to be seen (which obviously was not true). The male vet tech who initially saw our cat had us concerned when he told us we mislabeled our cats gender on the intake form. What made it alarming was that we brought our cat in for a bloody urine issue so I would assume a preliminary exam would include checking out the cats genitalia. The vet who saw my cat was excellent. Thoroughly explained the issues and our options and was so patient with all of our questions as we decided what we felt was best for our fur baby. I could tell he had a lot of experience and that put me at ease.
They took excellent care of River, they have a very good system they were patient and definitely worked within the time frame I was given thank you Green Acres.
This place is an absolute joke. I was grieving over my pet most likely passing at this facility. I was hit up for money as soon as I came in then told they don’t accept MasterCard so then had to scramble to find another method. No sincerity or genuine caring at this practice. They watched there as I sobbed and did not attempt to provide comfort. DONT GO HERE!
