Im so glad we found this place. Our dog is so afraid of ..well everything and everyone. And being a large breed this makes a lot of people intimidated by him. Sackville animal hospital truly are compassionate about their animals and work and it shows! Our dog ran right to the door on his trip back and went inside with ease! A special thanks to Raylee who handled all my questions and concerns about my golden retriever Teddy who needed an emergency procedure. She even called the following day to check up on him. I have been going to Sackville Animal Hospital since the start of the pandemic which means I haven't been able to go inside for any of my dogs appointments. Choosing a vet who would be patient and kind to my 8 week old puppy was very important to me. Now as a 1 year old, my boy has never been afraid of the vet and welcomes the staff with bum wiggles and wanting pets. The staff at Sackville Animal Hospital are very compassionate, kind and understanding. They will always make time for your questions and make sure you feel confident putting your pet in their care.

Lift Weights And Forks

The amount of incompetence I have experienced since bringing my pet here since June 2021 is mind blowing. My pet was experiencing weight control, bladder and mobility issues. I brought him in with concerns of thyroid issues as his brother recently passed away of thyroid issues and was experiencing many of the same symptoms. I was billed almost $500.00 and told his thyroid was checked via extensive bloodwork and a full uranalysis was done as well. It was determined that my pet was diabetic. He started getting better with insulin treatments and they they said I had to change his food. I changed his food and all of his issues started coming back. Less than 5 months from the initial tests and about another $500.00 in bills later they suggested I do the same tests I was told were done in June and I had already paid for. I now have been told what I thought was done in June was not actually done, I am not sure what I paid for, no notes were taken to confirm what they actually did or tested for so the past 5 months of treatment and tests have been for nothing. I also was bounced back and forth between two vets who had very different opinions on what was good and what was bad for his blood sugar levels and weight. one vet said they should be around 9 and 12 pounds, the other wanted them in the 20's and 15 pounds. needless to say I will be taking my pet elsewhere and I would advise anyone else reading this to do the same. I am not concerned with the money, I am concerned about the inconsistent information, the lack of attention to detail and lack of responsibility shown by the doctors. The desk staff and techs were very nice and just did as they were told. the doctors themselves I have no use for

Prices are still a bit high and on par with HRM rates - however you feel the quality of service and care here, and honesty about prices. Went in because my dog got bit by a deer tick. No one was there when I went in. Woman came out, didn't greet me just looked at me. I told her I had called early, handed her the tick and she walked back into the back. She then came out and said it was a deer tick. She told me to watch for limping. I asked for clarification, And she rolled her eyes at me. Her lack of empathy really disturbed me. I left with the impression she really didn't care at all. I had to call my regular vet, who told me the actually information I needed to care for my dog - if I had followed this woman's advice I might miss the signs of illness.

This is the best vet clinic I've ever been to. You can tell they truly care about their customers and all the animals they deal with. The receptionists, assistants and both veterinarians are all wonderful and take their time during their appointments to make sure you leave feeling good about your visit and your pet. I had an emergency one evening with my cat and they were very compassionate and understanding and let me come in close to closing time and I'll always be thankful for that. They will always have my loyalty and trust as a customer.

Doctor Tyler and his team have been great with Leonard, our sick kitty. They laid out all of the options for us, their recommendation, and told us which options would yield which results. He snuggled our cat on the floor while he talked to us and made sure Leonard was comfortable. Definitely pleased with the level of care. He was willing to come in on his normal day off to help our kitty, which is amazing. He never passed us off to someone else. The only complaint I have is that one of the ladies who answers the phones called back about an appointment and was quite blunt and a little patronizing about the options we were given. We discussed this problem with Dr. Tyler and he said that shouldn't have happened.

This is not our regular vet, but we needed to purchase a dog license for our dog and our current vet said they didn't have time (?) The team here was so friendly and welcoming and didn't even mention that we weren't regular clients. They have great processes in place for hygiene protocol and patient safety, and watching the five dogs who went in while I was there, you can tell how much this team cares about their patients; knowing dogs and owners by name and the dogs getting super excited to see their vet. We may consider switching!

Yesterday, my mother's dog (who is a patient at Sackville Animal Hospital) started seizing on her lap while they were driving. Luckily, they were on Sackville Drive when it happened. My mother called and told them they were on the way and whoever answered the phone told her to go to Metro Emergency because the vet was with another client. She had no empathy for what was happening and was quite rude.

This team of vets and assistants have been great to us (Myself, Diesel (GSD) and Zeus (Doberman)). Very dedicated team, taking the time to explain the situation, provide recommendations or required procedures, and will not give up until the client is satisfied with the information received. My dogs were well cared for while with the team for some of the procedures, ranging from x-rays, dental care to regular yearly exams. The team is not geared to making money but geared to the well being of your fur babies. Working via emails also help in avoiding bringing the dogs in when not required, freeing up the valuable time for pets that are in emergency situations. I highly recommend this clinic for all your fur babies needs. Again Team SAH (Sackville Animal Hospital) me, Diesel and Zeus are greatly appreciative of all the service that you provided them.

Was excellent. I have an old sweet dog who had to have dental surgery. They provided accurate information and our dog had 25 teeth removed. Picked him up at 3pm and by 5pm he was bouncing around like a puppy again. He healed perfect and we were provided with pictures of his teeth before during and after surgery. I have recommend this clinic to my sister who changed vets after many years and her little dog is now having his dental surgery on Monday. We are animal lovers and I cannot say enough about this place. They are outstanding! The staff is friendly and kind. Would not go anywhere else with our furbabies. We've always received excellent service at SAH, the facility is clean and welcoming and the staff is friendly and caring. With 2 dogs there is always a chance for the need of immediate attention as the result of an accident or emergency and they have always accompanied us by fitting us in quickly. As well our dogs are raw feed which isn't always popular with some vets, not the case here though, they are very open and willing to make suggestions to help ensure our pets are getting the proper nutrition and or supplements. They will discuss your concerns in length and make suggestions and provide options to ease any concerns you might have. The compassion they have for animals is obvious, it's not unusual for the staff to get down on the floor and level with your pet so that they are comfortable???? Thank you!

She is a rescue, and so some of her past history is unknown to us. We attempted getting support at another vet clinic, but did not have a good experience. Regardless of her past, she has been treated so incredibly well here. We have also been treated so incredibly well, considering we have so much to learn. Every single staff member is so friendly, supportive, and kind. We know how hard this industry is, and are so very grateful for the loving care Dax gets every single visit.

We have taken all 4 of our dogs here for the last few years. I would not trust any other vet with my fur babies! We sadly enough had one pass away and the compassion we were shown was outstanding. I go there for routine items (spays, needles, check-ups) and all emergency care as well. Dr. Tyler, Dr Kristina and the whole office staff always treat us like family! Two of my dogs can be a handful and the other one is on a special diet, they are more then accommodating in every situation. If you’re looking for a vet I would not go anywhere else, it would even be well worth the drive from outside of Sackville as I highly doubt you’ll find a better group of people to take care of your animals. The personal touches we get from phone calls and emails days after something has happened really makes this place one of a kind. I can not say enough good things about Sackville Animal hospital
