I've had both of my dogs cared for here, first when Dr. Duddy ran it and now under Dr. Frantz and I like these folks, from the vet to all the ladies behind the counter and the techs. I've boarded one dog twice and all seemed fine. One dog had significant surgery which seemed to go fine also. I recommend Fanwood Animal Hospital.

My rescue dog, Bambi, has been a patient of Dr. David Frantz and Dr. Rachel Roby since 2006. Bambi has received the absolute best care and diagnostic services. Dr. Frantz has diagnosed physical irregularities and/or disease, has performed surgery when needed and referred specialists when necessary; he has been fully engaged and supportive in her rehabilitation and palliative care. His staff is caring, empathetic, engaged, and very helpful when scheduling appointments for her and dispensing necessary medications. While owning a dog in her declining years can be very stressful to an owner, knowing your veterinarians are there to assist you in general or emergency health issues is tremendously comforting. I am very, very grateful.

Very good first experience. Remaining Covid restrictions are annoying and a front desk person wasn't very friendly but the nurse and doctor were excellent and the facility is very clean and nice.

They are great. And they take ApplePay! And WiFi. We took Gracie, our 13 year old Lhasa Apso for her yearly checkup. Making an appointment over the phone was easy and convenient. The was a short wait in their large clean waiting room. Dr Robbie gave her a thorough exam and shots. We had used a different vet for years but will now be going to Fanwood Animal Hospital.

The most loving, patient staff here. Brought my GSD for his first vet visit and he has major "stranger danger" issues. Since our pup wasn't in a good state of mind the first time we came we had to reschedule our visit. They sent us home with a tiny script of sedatives and a reschedule of our appt. We came back today, after pup took his Rx and he was considerably more chill than the first time (for obvious reasons). Dr Roby had a kind, gentle, understanding, demeanor on the phone and went through all his vitals for us and sent us home with only the flea & tick preventative and heartworm preventative he needed. She advised us of vaccines that he would need under certain circumstances, but given his concerns in public currently, we collectively decided we could postpone those treatments. Everyone there has been very patient, kind, and has not tried to "sell us" on any unnecessary treatments, meds, or otherwise. Very trustworthy group and put all of my fears at ease, helping to ensure the health of our pup.

I have been taking my pets to Fanwood Animal Hospital for at least 15 years and have always been happy with the treatment that my dogs and cats have received there. I have found the vets and all of the staff to be very compassionate people. They treat my pets as if they were their own and I never feel rushed in an appointment. Last week when I was there and saw Dr. Franz with our new puppy, I was thinking on my way home how I wished I could find a pediatrician for my son who is as compassionate and thorough a doctor as Dr. Franz is for my dog. Dr. Robi is amazing! Seriously saved my cat's life with her expertise, and she spent over an hour with me going over all my options to test and treat my cat. I will never be able to thank her enough. The staff is nice but doesn't always follow through on calling you with updates when they say they will and sometimes delivers "news" or "information" in an unsettling instead of comforting way. The waiting time can be tough on the animals sometimes. Stay away from Dr. Franz, there, though. He treated the cat Dr. Robi saved before she took over, and completely misdiagnosed him, lied about the turnaround time he said he would be able to perform a surgery for, and could have killed my cat by prescribing the incorrect medicine and neglecting the severity of my cat's symptoms. My cat started having seizures under Dr. Franz's "care" which were immediately cured when Dr. Robi correctly diagnosed my cat and prescribed the correct medicine. What a nightmare Dr. Franz put me through. He never even followed up with a phone call. I would never go back to him.

On more than one occasion in the past, I tried reaching the practice and needed either a call back or to be told to come in for an appointment. However, in particular, on Wednesday, Dec 7, 2021, I called the practice I gave the receptionist a very detailed description of my concern, and I needed a renewal prescription for a Hills kibble. I wanted to travel with my dog during the upcoming weekend. I felt I either needed to speak with the vet on the phone or be given an appointment. In this case I waited at home for two days with no call back. I would have been willing to see another one of the veterinarians.in the practice but that option was not offered to me. I will admit this has upset me profoundly and made me extremely anxious because it hurts my dog. There is a word for this behavior: Ghosting. I am being ghosted by a licensed professional with whom I have. a relationship and my dog is being hurt because I cannot renew her kibbl. I also wanted a prescription or another recommendation for my dog’s anxiety that will be exacerbated by traveling.this weekend. She has anxiety under certain circumstances. I feel really horrible about this. I will have to go elsewhere when I-get back. I am trying not to over react. Dr.Franz is a great vet who came highly recommended to me by a long time friend of mine who is a long time patient. It appears he picks and chooses who he wants to work with and my dog and I are not welcome in his practice. Lorene Connolly

I used this practice 35 years ago with my very first dog. When I recently got 2 new dogs, I looked to see if they were still in business. The ownership has changed since then, but the service is still outstanding! Dr. Frantz and the entire staff are wonderful to work with! They truly have your pet's best interest at heart. The doctors get back to you quickly if you have questions and never recommend unnecessary treatments just to make a few bucks. They have convenient hours and get you in quickly for appointments. i can't say enough about how much of a pleasure it is to have them care for my fur babies and I recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet!

Dr. Rachel Roby was just wonderful when I brought my senior cat Maxie in because he had lost weight and wasn’t acting himself. She was so gentle examining him, that he never hissed at her! Dr. Roby took blood work and gave him a liquid supplement to help his appetite. Maxie is doing well now!

Fanwood Animal Hospital is absolutely the best place to take your pet. The staff is truly caring and, should your pet have an important issue, will do their best to have him or her seen that same day. As far as Dr. Franz, well, I can't say enough about this good gentleman. His concern for the animals shines through in everything he does. Our cat was always very fearful of "the vet" and would react accordingly when in his office. Dr. Franz' patience with her was simply without equal. It was never hard to see how much he cares, loves and is concerned about the animals in his care. During our cat's final days, this concern was never more evident. His frankness and patience with us, and his gentleness toward our cat were without equal. I would highly recommend Dr. Franz and his staff at Fanwood Animal Hospital.
