I brought my dog who was bitten in by another dog. He was infected and was extremely ill. It was 4 am and I met the vet at the clinic. My dog was laying on the floor in the room unable to stand and she stated. " If you don't come up with 900 right now I am not touching this dog.' ''That is the way it is.' my husband was in California at the time and I tried to reach him but at that hour was unable to get through for two hours. A friend came to the rescue and fronted us in order to have him treated asap. Paid in full that day. Disgusting examples of human beings. I would not recommend the worst person in the universe to go to a person like this.

Excellent, competent, caring and compassionate Vets on staff. For me the only drawback is having to call at 7:30 am to secure a same day appointment. I've also visited during after hours emergency appointments. The Veterinarian on call is there when I arrived with kitty in tow and they were always set up and ready with whichever treatment was required.

The vet care is "AMAZZZZING "...However the manor in which appointments are made is very inconvenient. To make an appointment you have to call between 7:30am & 8:30am. They won't except appointment requests any other time of the day. And for most people who are getting themselves out the door for work / getting children ready for school or just getting home from a night shift, this couldn't be a more inconvenient time to have to stop what your doing to sit on the phone for an appointment time. If it weren't for the total inconvenience of this system for appointments, I would give a 5☆☆☆☆☆ rating. The pet care is stellar and pricing is very fair. But due to the total inconvenience of how appointments are arranged l, many people I've spoke with have been forced to go to a different veterinary clinic.

I find this the place to bring my dog, they are always reasonable with the pricing and super friendly with my dogs. The only thing I would criticize, which is fairly normal for most vets is that they keep us waiting usually 15-30 minutes past appointment time even if we are the only customers there. But would highly recommend for reasonable cost and care.

They're amazing looked after my 3 fur babies especially my one doggy that was attacked by a pitbull. She needed a follow up appointment and they made sure she was taken care of with all the necessary medication for her well being. They're well informed with all the latest developments for looking after your dogs to give them a healthy and happy life. The price after our visit blew me away having had 3 doggies with me it was shockingly reasonable. I would of paid double that in Ontario. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic service took care of my the whole process and even stayed 2 hours after to make sure I was able to get and she wouldn't spend the night alone. I couldn't recommend more than 5 stars but they went above and beyond that till this day I still sing their praises 6 years later.

Sypha adores Dr. Otorowski ! She has been her vetenerian for 2 years and a half now. She always get greeted with treats, smiles and love. Sypha isn't nervous with her and knows Dr. Otorowski will respect her needs. She had to have her eye checked, today, after a groomer put shampoo in her eye resulting an ulcer. This vetenerian took the time to explain to us what was going on, how it was healing, what to do, etc. She even speaks French a little bit to our dog so Sypha can understands her. We're not anxious to have this doctor look after our baby girl, because we know she's in good hands. Dr. Otorowski is gentle, patient and she truly cares for animals. We're very lucky to have her.

The GOOD: I had Dr. Gillis for my most recent visit and she considered a topical treatment first over a pill medication - she was considering the impact to my dogs immune system and I appreciate that type of care. The topical solution is called Synotic and has worked well but ran out as they come in small 8 ml bottles and its not made anymore but at least the doctor tried that first. The BAD: I'm sad to say that I would advise being careful acting on what you are told here or at any clinic. After having brought various pets to many different vet clinics over the years my advice is don't bother unless your pet is in pain or it is an emergency, otherwise I strongly suggest doing whatever you can without the assistance of any vet. The 2 stars are given based on the clean clinic. Just as is the case in Sussex the Dr. here completely contradicts the Dr. in Sussex and stated that my dog had Mast Cell Tumor. However, she did not have it graded or sent away to a pathologist but did tell me it was not good and was aggressive with numerous abnormal cells. The Dr. Justason in Sussex said that these cancers do not get better and maybe Dr. Otorowski mistook antibodies for cancer! But then he said in all his years he has never seen a mast Cell tumor shrink which is what happened which is also what I was told at the Avenue Animal hosiptal. Then he stated that if this dog had mast cell cancer she would be a dead dog by now (2-3 months). Either way I was told by the Avenue Animal Hospital that I MUST get the surgery done which has risks with it. The Sussex Animal Hospital told me to just monitor the growth and if it changes have it removed. This is like the third growth - what am I supposed to do? Pay $1500-2000 every time there is a growth????? At the Sussex Animal Hospital - Dr. Steven Justason basically could have done a coin toss and I would have had the same diagnosis. I was feeling better when he said she doesn't have Mast Cell cancer - but then as the conversation went - it changed to not likely - to "I could be wrong." I drove up from Saint John and felt like I wasted my time, travel expense, and the $90.00 I paid them. The Avenue Animal Hospital gave me quotes for everything. I was told x-rays would be $200 then found out with the extras it could be $500! The Avenue Animal Hospital insisted that the best thing to do was the surgery and the other Vet clinic said they would hold off....this is unacceptable.

This place saved my dogs life a few years ago. She had sat in a puddle or wet grass or something and hadn't been fixed. So she got an infection and needed a hysterectomy. Randomly one day she was laying around not looking the best, we took her to Avenue Animal Hospital (her vet) and they said she needed emergency surgery. It wasn't easy pulling 1500.00$ out of nowhere but she needed it or that would of been the end of her. So she recovered quickly and now has been with me for 7 years. Shes in perfect health and I couldn't recommend this facility more! Great service, professional, and you can really tell that they care!

All our dogs have gone to this office since I was a kid with my first dog. I'm now 39 and on dogs # 4 & 5, and still bring my dogs there. All vets are great there but Dr. Catherine Ottorowski really won us over. She was so sympathetic and showed so much empathy and compassion when we had to make the dreaded decision to put our 3rd boy Rocky down, which was so comforting. I've recommended them to friends in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

100% pleased with the level of care. All of the staff were kind and helpful. If it wasn't for Dr. Otoworski and her caring colleagues, our cat Pepper would have had to have been put down 2.5 years prematurely. She never gave up and we are forever grateful for her. She cares and it shows. We were also very pleased with Dr. Caines who was exceptional when Pepper was no longer able to fight. She put her down so peacefully. She made a horrible experience as good as it could possibly have been, and this was late on a Sunday evening, after she had multiple calls over the weekend and was admittedly tired, she still managed to be so gentle and comfort us. We will continue to take our pets to Avenue Animal Hospital for the rest of our days. They are wonderful.

Someone put down avenue... my two dogs are very looked after dr O is awesome (As far as we can tell, Kastor seems to be recovering from his not so perfect, over extended, invasive surgery you know the one where basic sesame street math means nothing when you can't count and leave a surgical sponge inside after closing the incision and having to reopen it to find your huge MISTAKEe , after spending hundreds of dollars multiple times at this veterinary hospital to make sure he was healthy, the last visit cost us $1400 dollars for services we consider to be of a very inadequate level for "professionals, I'm sure I could have saved the money, spent an hour watching YouTube, grabbed a kitchen knife put him on the counter and screwed it up just as easy for free. Alright, so now, with that being said, neither of our furry children, will ever set paw in that place again or be cared for by their under skilled, socially innept staff, which is unfortunate for us, as it's now going to cost another small fortune for after care at another vet, who isn't responsible financially for making sure, this screw up goes smoothly to a recovery. A formal complaint has been made to the veterinary board of New Brunswick. I'm not usually one to slam someone on social media, but I feel, this is worth noting to my friends, "I strongly discourage you from using this facility to care for your beloved family members and strongly encourage, if you already do, to consider a change, before a" simple mistake" harms one of yours, end rant.) So wrong they are the best vets bar none.... mistakes happen our dogs are allways well looked after.. i have an elder dog with arthritis and allergies Allways have best care

Absolutely excellent. We have taken a number of dogs there in the last 23 years and always had the best of care. Even savings one dog's life after we had received very bad vet advice at another practice. They have been very understanding and compassionate while helping us put down 3 of our animals over the years. I have interacted with all the vets there and they have been nothing but caring, compassionate and professional. Sometimes it is hard to hear the truth about your pet and its ability to recover or not, but they have always explained every option available and supported our final decision on treatment.

Our vet and my parents vet my family has brought all 6 of our animals over 15 years here. They were understanding and helpful when my wife and I were young with our first dog. They are good to deal with and have worked with us above and beyond during stressful times and difficult situations in a competent and professional manner. They are so good with my pitbull that he actually enjoys seeing them and they have never made me feel anything but welcome. There has never been any doubt about their priorities of pet care over bringing in money.

Had my dog in to these people at least a dozen times for the same condition(yeast infection in ears)every time I paid for dr visit and medication.even though sign on wall said one charge per condition(sign gone now)every time given same medication and it worked! I recently lost my job and don't have extra money and my dog needed more ear med!even though it's always the same meds,the refused to sell me with out paying for dr visit! Unfourtantly I don't have the extra cash my mortgage and kids need to come first!so now my dogs ears are bleeding and swollen shut because these people wanted there$69 to do the same thing I've paid for a dozen times! I called to make a appointment for my cat that had a injured leg . they denied me a appointed because I didn't have her papers from a other vet ,even when I told them that the last vet would seend the papers over sometime that day I was told no . I had been to Avenue Hospita before and were in good standards when it come to any accounts. always payed my bill on my way out the door . so my cat which was in pain was denied treatment because of delayed paperwork . I ended up going to a vet on the west side that put my pet welfare first . oh befor i forget there was zero emthey from my cat or me on who ever they have answering there phone .very cold .I think that's what upset me the most .when you call some one who is supposed to be there to help you, does the exact opposit it's a bit of a shock.

The service the 3 Veterinarians that work here have been giving me amazing service and advise for over 10 years, on one occasion the advise I was given even saved my oldest dogs life. If you are looking for an amazing Vet that is very very fair on what they charge for the amazing job they do this is where the place you want to trust your animals to, these people really care about helping making your animals better.
