Great place. I have neen there for routine needles and other things right down to having very close pets put to sleep. They really have compassionate people there. If you ask a question they can give you an answer. Very clean. I really Like that. People dont realize they have quite a little pet store there as well. I have no problem giving them a 5 star rating.

Very friendly staff and considerate vets. Take both of my cats here they are very comfortable with their vet. Sell food treats and accessories and much more. Getting an appointment is never a problem if you plan ahead. I have some experience with their emergency after hours services and rate them 10 out of 10! Very thorough and kind. Always do check up calls when your pet has started a new medication or treatment which is excellent if you have questions or concerns.

Each time I have gone to the Amherst Veterinary Hospital it has been a positive experience. Last year, our Jack Russel Terrier attacked a porcupine on a Saturday and when he was in the losing end we were able to immediately get him treatment. The veterinarians were kind and ensured that Eddie was comfortable. This past month I was able to make an appointment for my cousin's cat within a week of calling. The clinic was very accommodating in recieving and reviewing the medical records for Bella. The two (different) veterinarians were wonderful and ensured that Bella was comfortable when she received her vaccinations. I would highly recommend this clinic.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a better veterinary experience. Our French bulldog had a very scary severe allergic reaction and we had to rush from an hour away in the middle of the night. They were so helpful and informative. They took the time to help us and keep us calm and collected. They care so much about their animals. If we lived closer they would absolutely be our regular vet. We can’t thank you guys enough!

Brought mothers sick cat here. We knew it was "Time". Staff were great and caring. But the treatment room we were in we could hear her cat scream out back while getting the IV. They need better doors and sound proofing in the room beside the back room. It didn't help the situation.

I waited for an hour past my appointment time. The vet who saw me and my dog was not very friendly to me. The actual amount of time spent with my dog, after an hour wait in the little clinic room was less than 10 minutes. They took detailed information when I arrived so they knew my visit was a routine short visit. I would have given a rating less than 3 but the front staff were very nice and the price to help my dogs ear infection was fair. I asked the staff when I was paying, if being kept waiting for an hour is normal or if it's an off day. Unfortunately she did not reassure me that this was not a regular occurrence. An apology for keeping me waiting would have went a long way, as would a friendly respectful demeanor towards me, unfortunately I received neither.

We had a house fire, my cat was inside the entire time. She started sneezing and snotting 2 days later so I made an appointment with the vet. They wanted to do xrays, but I had just lost everything, I couldn't afford it. I was going to leave to try to find the money, instead they waved the cost of the xray for us. I took my puppy here for Vax and then spay.. she came home with fleas which I had treated.. then tapeworm from the fleas.. my other animals were also affected. The clinic offered no assistance what so ever.. it cost me a small fortune to treat my animals and home. Never again!

What's the doctor (Emily Youe) and the rest of the staff were wonderful and caring. My girl Emma went in for a hysterectomy. All good. We brought her home and when let out of the kennel she freaked out .We think because of the cone. Within an hour she had ripped herself clean open. We rushed her back to the clinic. They fixed her right up. They kept her for two days. Cost.to us......$0.00. post open care they said. Amazing clinic. They will definitely be getting our business.

My husband and I had to take our dog for an emergency visit while at his family's cottage. My husband called and someone answered right away and told us to bring him in. I forgot to get her name but an assistant or tech answered our call when we got there and was out to bring us into the clinic quickly and started the assessment right away. The vet, Dr. Emily Youé, was there within 5-10 minutes of us arriving and was in with us immediately to do her assessment. Dr. Youé was very friendly and made sure we felt comfortable taking Flynn home after a treatment for something he ingested. She also made sure we knew she would be there if we needed to make another visit. The responsiveness of the team for this emergency visit was incredible. We truely appreciate everything they did for us and wish the team were closer to our home so we could take all out pets to them!

My partner and I have had several dealings with the Amherst Veterinary Hospital In the past several months and everyone was incredible especially Dr Emily Youe who was with us Dec 19 and Jan 19 for the loss of two of our dogs.
