This clinic has been so good with me. My cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes and I’ve been calling with all kinds of questions. All of the ladies are extremely kind and campassionte. I would highly recommend them for your kitty!

This clinic is the best of the best. Everybody there really knows cats and has a passion for working with them. Very professional, and during the last days of my 18 year old cat's life they were so kind, thoughtful and compassionate. The care they took of my kitty cat, Peanut, over all the years was top drawer, bar none. I highly recommend them.

Unfortunately he wasn’t responsive to his treatments and when it came time for us to say good bye to him they were so understanding, gentle and empathetic . Because of a physical move we have had to change vets away from Clinic for Cats. This is no way reflects on the care and service they have given our cats over several years. They handled our business professionally and were concerned and caring for our animals. We recommend them to you highly.

I recently had to deal with a very serious illness in my cat Thomas that came on very suddenly and without warning I rushed him to this clinic by cab when it became obvious that he was in a great deal of distress. The staff there responded immediatith an assistant whisking him into the back for oxygen and the receptionist taking my info. In a very few minutes they called me into a consult room where I was given The devestating news that the prognosis was grim. I of course knew what that meant but asked for a few minutes to make that decision. The staff were very respectful of this request and assured me that Thomas was as comfortable as they could make him. I was gone from the clinic for about 3O minutes but shortly after my return I was again brought into the consult room and the necessary procedure was undertaken. I was heartbroken and devaststed as Thomas was more than just a pet, he was my friend and my family. He had an outsized personality and was known by many people in Nanaimo as Sir Thomas Puddington of Kneesley-on-Tyne. I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff who made an incredibly difficult day a measure easier by maintaining their professionalism even as I was falling apart, aknowledging my grief but not offering platitudes as remedy, and finally sending a condolence card with paw prints they took of Thomas which was thoughtful and perfect for a memorial plaque a friend is making for me. I will never forget my buddy and I thank the staff at the Clinic for Cats for their assistance during a painful and sad time.

It’s unfortunate that a clinic specifically for cats, can be so neglectful towards their furry friends. Being a new fur momma, I just wanted the absolute best for my kitty. I brought him there thinking even if they aren’t the best of the best, they must obviously love the cats that walk through their doors just as much as the owners and provide the best possible care. That was not the case. Every time I brought my kitty there (3-4 times) not only was he treated like an inconvenience but I was treated like that also. Being young and new to this role, I had lots of questions regarding the health and well-being of my cat- every answer I got was short, and either misinformed or was told not to worry about it. It wasn’t until the last time I brought him in with concerns, got the same responses, still had to pay the $80 fee for a 5 minute visit that I finally had enough. A concern that I was told “not a big deal” by them- I decided to get a second opinion and it actually needed attention. I will not be recommending this clinic to anyone. The staff doesn’t care about their patients, or patient owners.

When our beloved family pet had fallen ill, I sought out the Nanaimo Cat Clinic, because I have had very good experiences at the Heritage Cat Clinic in Victoria. (Just to be clear, they are not associated.) I am displeased with the length of the exam that was given. It was merely 5 minutes, including the wait time. Not thorough. Not worth the 70 bucks if you ask me! She didn't even notice that my cat is missing a tooth, and every other vet I've ever seen has commented on it. -The 'doctor' was not able to come to a diagnosis at all. She was cold and seemed irritable. I was the last appointment of the day, but I don't think a customer should feel like they're being rushed out the door. Frankly, she wanted to kill my cat, because that was the easiest solution for her. That is not the kind of vet that I want to deal with. -The x-rays were more than double the price of what they are at Bellevue Animal Hospital (where I have gone previously), and on top of that, they didn't harbor any results. -I'm from a low income household. I explained that to these people. All I wanted was to help my sick cat. Instead of helping my animal, they treated me like a money mill. 70 bucks for an unnecessary exam, and $165 for a useless x-ray. No diagnosis. And a bad attitude. Thanks for nothing guys. I hope my cat lasts 2 more weeks so i can get a second opinion next payday.

They overbook, rush you through, act judgey and then don't follow through with the estimate that they promised. I was there at the end of the day and they had 5 cats waiting all booked within 30 minutes of each other. Take your business elsewhere...

I only gave one star because I could not give zero. wife took our sick cat in, she phoned me several times, they were rushing her to make a decision on whether to spend money on a very expensive treatment that might work or have him put to sleep. Big decision and didn't need the constant rush to a decision. Had him treated, didn't work so had to have him put down. $1200 bill. the cat had lost a lot of weight over a short period of time and my wife was asked by someone with no social graces an ignorant question- "Are you starving your cat"? I was going to go in and give them a piece of my mind but didn't trust my self control so am posting this here.

A little over a week ago, we had to have our beloved Ells Bells put to sleep. Dr. Maloney and staff did everything possible to help her, and also to give me the time I needed with her to feel as much at peace with her passing as I could when it was decided that was the only option. They went above and beyond, showing such care and tact. Today I received a very sweet card in the mail, with Ells' footprints inside, and a message from staff. I can't express enough how our family feels receiving this.Thank you so much to the Dr. and all of the staff for your understanding, care, and attention to detail. It's been a very difficult time for our family, and through the entire process you have shown genuine care.

I took my cat in as he had gotten into a cat fight and had puncture wounds and a swollen leg. I called the day of and they were able to get me an appt for just a few hours away! I was very pleased as I had taken a day off work to try and get my cat into a vet up here. Being new to Nanaimo I had looked up multiple clinics and was about to make the hour drive to my previous vet for my cat but new that it would just be stressful for the both of us so I was very pleased when Clinic for Cats was able to get me in so soon! Dr.Maloney and her co-worker were so wonderful with my cat, trimmed his fur on his leg and cleaned his puncture wounds and gave me some antibiotics to aid with infection all for a very reasonable cost! I will definitely be keeping them as my cats vet for as long as I am living in Nanaimo! Thank you for taking care of us and helping me care for Dash! We will be back in a few weeks for his updated shots! :)

I have been taking my cats to this clinic for 8 years and have been very happy. Dr. Maloney is a wonderful vet who takes the time to explain everything and is very open to any questions. Tracy, who usually works the front desk, is super friendly and remembers my cats by name. Over the years, my cats have had a variety of issues and they have all been dealt with appropriately. Overall, all of the staff are very caring and clearly love cats.

Awful experience, brought my cat her a year ago and was told my cat is depressed and was put on antidepressants, all my fur baby did was sleep. And again this morning I called as my other cat is missing and wanted to leave some info, receptionist wouldn't take it and told me to look elsewhere.
