They took me in right away after I called 6+ places to take in my dying lizard. Their the ONLY place who not only took us in but QUICKLY made me feel safe and taken care of. I knew my lizard baby was in good hands even though she had passed moments before arriving to their facility. Nonetheless, prices were affordable and the staff was SOOOOOOO kind. I could not do what they do but they handled my situation with kindness and sincerity. I did not feel rushed to spend my last moments with my baby girl. I loved this place even in a dark moment.
Our puppy was stung by a bee and we rushed her in at 7 pm on a Thursday. We were so worried but even during quarantine, we recieved incredible service and attention. They had the traffic in the lobby well organized and distances maintained. They took our girl right to the back and gave her the necessary injections to counteract her swelling and discomfort. Even in trying times, we know we can count on Scottsdale Veterinary 24/7 and we're so grateful!
The best vets office ever. The entire staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable. They treat my babies like their own. Check out the pet care plans they have to offer. The best care at a great price. Dr. Horsely rocks!
I went there Thursday morning because my 1 year old cat wasn't feeling the greatest, had been withdrawn(normally very needy) and hardly eating or drinking. They took him back right away and with his symptoms prepared me for the worst case which is he may have FIP. Ran more blood work and discovered he had anemia. They prescribed him antibiotics and now it's been only 4 full days of medicine and he's getting his energy back and eating. He's no longer hiding or as I found out by staying home with him Friday, eating his cat litter. The staff here is amazing and I thank them greatly for making my little fur baby feel better, I hope he continues making positive progress.
There are a lot of things I really like about this place; Dr Fonza is a fantastic vet, and they offer a lot of services here for reasonable prices. However as a cat owner I would not recommend it at all to take your cats. There is one open lobby and no place for cats and their owners to wait separately away from the many dogs who are always here. I have gone to other clinics where there are separate lobbies so cats do not get stressed out by dogs coming near and whining, barking, etc.
The entire staff here is amazing and has helped my dog Roxy SO much over the past 4 years. Dr. Demonte goes above and beyond, calling after her hours are over to check on Roxy. I could not have asked for a better place to look after the health of my dog. Highly recommend!
Alexa and Ashley were wonderful. They made me feel so much better in a scary emergent situation with my dog and gave me a few laughs and some good conversation to distract me! Marissa was also super helpful the next morning when I came to pick up my dog and tracked down the medication that I forgot. The doctors were also so helpful and nice! Best part of all is this clinic is very affordable considering it’s an emergency 24 hours. Highly recommend!
I am always so happy with the care I receive from this clinic. The whole team is very knowledgeable and the practice is managed really well. They have been amazing during COVID and right on top of offering safeguards and procedures to keep everyone as safe as possible. Mostly what I love is that it’s all about cats. They love and get these guys. I highly recommend bringing your kitties here.
Super disappointed to have to write this review, but this place has sadly gone downhill. They are obviously understaffed and the care they took in the past is completely gone. We've had great experiences over the years, but my dog was recently sick. After waiting 4 hours to see a vet (yes, 4 hours!) we were pleased with our care, however my dog continued to be sick and I reached back out to talk to the vet a week later. After waiting 20 mins on hold on a Tuesday, I was told a vet would call me back ASAP. After getting no call back, I waited 30 mins on hold on a Wednesday to talk to someone else who said the vet who saw my dog wasn't coming back until Sunday and would call me then. When I expressed again that I needed to talk to a vet urgently they apologized, took my number (again) and told me someone would call me ASAP. Same thing the next day - no call, so I called back again the next day (22 mins on hold) and was asked to be placed on hold again. I refused and asked to speak to a vet, got the same baseless apology and was told to hold. They then told me a vet looked at my dogs chart and that I should bring her in urgently. If it was urgent, why did I have to call three times and wait 72 hours? They are obviously understaffed and the care we were accustomed to is gone. We went to a new vet and thankfully our dog is fine. No one cared and it's very sad to see such a great place fail over and over.
Prepare to be upsold on everything. The 1 star is for the lack of valuable knowledge regarding the Weimaraner breed and the barrage of upselling techniques. All vets and vet assistants should know the sensitive breeds especially when it comes to vaccines. I was told by the vet assistant that giving more than one different vaccine on the same day to my weimaraner puppy was ok which is bs. Luckily, I had done my research. Some owners have not been as lucky in regards to this subject at other vets.
TSVC is the only place I have trusted with my pets for years. Especially for an emergency! I have recieved responsive, compassionate care from everyone in the office from drs, to techs, and the front desk staff. I have moved away from the area and tried new vets but always come back bc no one compares. Wait times can be long, but worth it. Maybe it's time for a Mesa branch??
My dog was diagnosed here with Valley Fever and needed to be hospitalized. They took wonderful care of her during that time. I was told she needed to have follow up lab work done on her which didn't require an appointment. I called in when it was time for that lab work to be done just to ensure I didn't need to schedule an appointment and was told I didn't. I get my dog to the hospital and tell them she's just here to follow up labs and I am told it is going to be a 2 hour wait. I ask if there is any way to schedule an appointment for this to avoid this situation happening again and I was told not on a weekend. So I asked to schedule for a weekday. She then tells me I'll be charged an exam fee if I schedule ahead of time for the labs. Since this is a 24 hr care facility it is understandable especially on a weekend to be busy. This place deserves 3 stars for the horrible client communication and nonsensical scheduling system. If I would have just been informed properly I wouldn't have wasted my time commuting for an appointment I can "walk in for". If your dog needs a follow up "tech appointment"... well hopefully it's just not too busy because I guess that's how it works here.
I have been bringing my German Shepherds here for 8 years. Everything from teeth cleaning, grooming, annual check ups, shots, surgery and sadly cancer. They have always treated me and fur babies with love and respect. Lots of kisses and hugs! The groomers do a great job and the prices are better than most other places and all the standard services are done quickly and at a reasonable price. When I had to put my girl down with an inoperable cancer, they gave me as much time as I needed. I sat on the floor with her for an hour before the procedure and then for half an hour after her passing. They never rushed me and made sure I was OK. I will never forget June 12th, 2016 at 10:30 am but I am glad my babies life ended in the hands of loving and caring people.
Our family - including pet family- have been going to TSVC for at least 12 years. They have treated our guinea pigs, our cat, our dogs- always a great experience. Dr Langhofer is amazing - he can handle so many pets and various conditions. He even removed a tumor from our guinea pig and she did great. They are always there day and night. They are kind to all of their customers - human and pets. I just know I can always count on them and they are going to do the very best to help my precious pets. Thank you TSVC for years of great service- we love you guys!!
I absolutely love TSVC! Their team is so friendly and professional. They always treat my pup as if it were their own. The vets are super knowledgeable, will answer any questions, and truly have your pet's best interest in mind (as well as your wallets). Highly, highly recommend them!
This has taken quite some time to write because I have wanted to love TSVC. The things I have seen no problem with, go smoothly, nail trims, purchasing up sells, courteous staff, ease of appointments. However, my guy had his neuter this last December, a series of very unfortunate events ensued. It’s very lengthy and detailed and it was addressed with the staff several times over several days. I was apologized to and ensured that they would train their staff better. That’s was all. And after all the issues I experienced I decided to still try them again. I decided to stick with them because let’s be honest they are convenient with hours and large and 2 miles from my house. This last experience however just set it off wrong once again. I called last Wednesday to inquire about grooming. My 11 month old Golden Retriever has never been to get groomed yet so it’s kind of a big deal to me. He’s wonderfully behaved but still a puppy and he scares easy of loud noises. I have bathed him in the past but had shoulder surgery in January and cannot yet manage his 85lbs. I called the office and inquired with a girl named Bethany who was very helpful. She gave me the name of the only groomer (apparently) that they have for large dogs. First red flag >>this veterinary office is huge and they have one groomer for large dogs? She said the groomer responds best to text so to let her know what I need and she’ll get back with me. I did just that, I texted her Wednesday morning and let her know what I needed for my pup. Friday morning rolls around and still no response to my text. I called the office and chatted with a girl and asked what my expectation should be on a response time And to make sure I had the correct phone number. She verified the phone number put me on hold and came back and said give it 2 days and she will definitely get back with me. She explained that she is busy being (again) the only large dog groomer. Fair enough, however it is now Sunday afternoon and I have never heard back! Is perhaps the reason I do like them the downfall of why I continue to have issues? Is it just too many hands in the pot, minus enough groomers I guess. I’m a very fair person and I understand there can be bumps in any road, but in 20 years of owning animals and veterinary visits I have never had so many bumps! Like everybody else in this world I am very busy and I work and I really don’t want to have to take the time now to interview a new veterinarian and switch something over that my dog has been comfortable with, I’m just not really sure that they’re leaving me with any choice now. I’m not going to compromise my standards for a vet to fit into a box of “convenience” VS quality. My continued mantra with them has been “I really want to love them”... at this point I would settle for “like.”
We took our dog here for the first time. They were all amazing. Every person that interacted with us and our dog was caring and appropriately sensitive. They set the bar high for others to follow.
I actually did not end up checking my dog into this place, but I had to write this review because the staff was so helpful and professional that we decided we didn't need to admit our pup. I called several places and this was the only one that cared enough to ask about my pup's condition and offer advice. When we decided to bring her in at 2 am, the lady at the front informed us there was a lengthy wait, but took our pup's vitals for us, listened to us explain what was wrong, and assured us our pup would likely get better with home treatment. She even gave us details on how to care for our sick pup while she was recovering at home, even though we decided not to check in. I'll definitely bring my pets here when they are in need of care.
I lost my dog unexpectedly last week late at night. He fell, he wasn't ok, I took him into the hospital, turns out he had a tumor on his spleen I did not know about that ruptured during his fall. He had internal bleeding and was basically lifeless and in shock when I got to the hospital. He went into surgery probably one and a half two hard after he arrived and his heart stopped at the end of surgery after the tumor was removed from the spleen. I am giving two stars not because of what they did or didn't do during the treatment, I can only believe they did their best to keep my dog alive and in a timely manner. I am unfortunately giving a low rating because I just picked up my dogs ashes and it was in a wooden box that is closed shut. I had zero options or add ons when going thru deciding how I wanted my dog kept after the cremation. Obviously at the time I wasn't even thinking about asking; it all happened so fast. The hospital gave me some paw prints in this mold that is not hard. I can press my nail on whatever the material is and it dents it and if anything smashed their finger on the mold it would be destroyed. So I WISH I could have had the option presented to me to get a ink paw print of his, get his ashes kept not in a closed off wooden box, and to have ANY option of any add ons or keepsakes that I could remember my dog by.......when this all happens so fast the person on the receiving end unless they have been thru a loss like this before isn't thinking they have to ask these types of things. Hopefully this feedback in taken so no one else is saddened by this when it can easily be prevented. I was also told I would get my dogs ashes back in two weeks. So hopeful today (4 days later) I called to see if I can somehow get a paw print. The girl who answered last night at the hospital said she would check today. I found out who does the cremation and called them myself today. They said my dog was cremated on Thursday and returned the next day....Another girl called me today from the hospital and said I couldn't get my paw print. She never even realized my dogs ashes are already at the hospital. Again, hopefully you all take this and do something with it so other pet owners don't feel this way.
I got a new puppy back in October and I have a regular vet that I go to, but emergencies do happen and I am so glad this 24 hour clinic is 10 minutes from my house. One time Mila ate something she should not have and I brought her here and they helped right away. Another time she fell off the couch (she is a Shih Tzu, so it was a fall for her). I didn’t come in for this one, but I called. They helped access the situation over the phone, told me what to look out for and they didn’t feel like it was necessary at that moment to bring her in. She ended up being fine. The other night she must have been bitten by something. She came in front the patio limping and licking her paw and went potty in the house. I grabbed her right away and rushed in. Bethany greeted me and took her back immediately. I didn’t even see the vet, the techs assessed her and said all her vitals are fine. They said I could see a vet, but they thought something bit her and suggested I give her some Benadryl and wait to until the morning to see if she gets worse or better. We woke up today and she is fine! Being a first time dog mom I am so thankful for the staff, their compassion and guidance when I find myself in a stressful situation.
We had to take our brand new puppy in after hours to get checked out, as she had a very quick and concerning change of behavior within 12 hours. The front desk staff were comforting when we first arrived and roomed us right away (as our puppy had not yet completed all vaccinations and they wanted to be cautious she wasn’t wandering around the waiting room). The vet tech happily answered all of our questions, kept us very informed on each procedure/test they were doing and educated us on why, and also helped comfort us/ease our minds as to what was going on. Additionally, when Dr. Kerby came in he was extremely gentle and comforting to our little girl. We decided to establish vet care here given their care and dedication to both our puppy and us as owners during our emergency visit.
Veterinary services are fantastic, but our grooming experience was not good. We were so impressed with the care our pets received from the veterinary staff, we wanted to bring our dog in to get groomed. When we brought her in, the groomer was extremely impatient and rushed while we tried to explain what we needed. The trim was extremely choppy and it appears unfinished. I'm unsure if she was even given a bath, as her tail wasn't clean. Our dog's fur still has mats around her joints and I'm very disappointed. The price is not worth the quality of service. We will be scheduling another appointment with our regular groomer to fix it. We wiill definitely still use the veterinary services in the future, but will not return for grooming.
I cannot say enough good things about this Vet clinic, please go here and support. They're compassionate, open 24 hours a day, don't push sales, give you the honest truth, not big wait times, and they're very accomodating. My dog passed and all of them were very good to me. I don't know the owners or the workers but they have this team that I'm guessing they handpick and are dog lovers. I highly recommend going here. Thank you Scottsdale Verinary Clinic, good work.
About a year ago my 14 year old dog was suffering with a sudden dizziness/vertigo episode. He could hardly walk. We had just moved to Phoenix not even a week before so I didn't know any vets here yet. I was able to get him in right away at this clinic. As soon as I walked in the place reeked of urine. The vet, Dr Sowerby, diagnosed my dog with drug poisoning from marijuana and began asking me if I smoked marijuana around my dog. She then did a drug test which came back negative. She completely missed a very common old dog disease called vestibular disease. She never mentioned this disease, I found out about it by calling our vet in Oregon where we had just moved from. The vet in Oregon knew it was vestibular right away when I explained the symptoms. This clinic is a terrible excuse for a vet and I would not trust this place with my animals. I paid over $500 to be insulted by this dirty piss smelling clinic. The only thing they did right was hydrate my dog with an IV.
This practice has certainly taken on too many clients...we were seen by a different vet every time, and while the team was always perfectly nice, it was clear that they were trying to keep things moving and didn't take the time to invest in our pup. As first time dog owners we didn't understand a lot of the steps being taken, and they didn't explain them, messing up our bill and records a few times. Long wait times and a crowded waiting room were always the case. We have since gone elsewhere.
Every time I bring my cat Flakes here the staff is super nice, and professional. In emergency situations they are quick to respond and do what needs to be done to help. Wait times can be a little long and appointment availability is scarce right now, but this vet is worth the wait if you can wait.
Well, my dog was sick and no vet was available so I was told to go here. I schlepped me and my dog, Max, to Scottsdale. When I got there at 12:30 they told me it would be 2-2 1/2 hours. I checked at 3:30 and she said Max was next. An hour later I went inside and they said it would be another hour. I was there for 4 1/2 hours! Ridiculous! No updates-NOTHING!!!! I’ll never go here again. I should’ve gone to Alta Vista in Central Phoenix! What a waste of my PTO! My Max seems to be doing better, no thanks to Scottsdale Veterinary, and that’s all that matters!
We were traveling through from Los Angeles when our elderly dog starting having some complications. We looked at ER vets nearby and detoured off of the freeway. I’m so glad we stumbled upon them: everyone from the doctors to the techs and the receptionists were all friendly, responsive, kind, and helpful. We ended up needing to leave our dog here for treatment for several days and even the new doctors coming on shift were amazing at calling us and updating us. We really appreciate all the help we received.
I was there I'm not gonna lie almost 5 hours My dog was bitten and they took care of her she held so fast they were so good to her it was worth the wait for my Jenny I will always go there they are so so good
I've used SVC for almost 30 years. Never enthusiastically, but because they were a 24/7 vet and close to home. When my beloved Neapolitan Mastiff started ageing and was in regular care by the vets there, I had to constantly call to check on inquiries; questions took days and days of me calling for answers. She was on pain meds at the end and I was questioned as if I were an addict when I'd ask about adjusting them, increasing the dosage, or getting refills. They didn't seem to understand the difficulty of bringing in a 150 lb senior dog for every inquiry I had. In January, my girl passed away in my arms at home. I called them to retrieve her. It took hours. A few days afterwards I was asked to review their service. I have not received a call from our vet or anyone from the office in regards to anything except asking to review their services. So here's my review. After almost 30 years, I'll never go back.
These people are the absolute best! This review is long overdue. Our latest adventure began mid-November last year when we took our little baby dachshund, Sophie in for a routine teeth cleaning with Dr. Fonsa (he is always amazing, kind & professional). He immediately called us when he found that her bloodwork showed Sophie was severely anemic. He was very clear and recommended a blood transfusion straight away and managed to get us in that very day with an outside specialist. We were of course terrified, but Dr. Fonsa walked us through what needed to happen and sent us on the right path. Tracey is always fabulous. She called us several times to check in on Sophie and her recovery. She AlWAYS makes us feel like family and we just love her! End of February, we rushed Sophie in, bc she rejected her 4th transfusion. Thankfully the absolutely phenomenal Dr. Greenwood was there to help her. She immediately did everything possible to stabilize Sophie; performed a successful transfusion, and cared for her for several days. Little by little Dr. Greenwood & team nursed Sophie back from her extremely poor condition. Dr. Greenwood is brilliant, caring, genuine, and really listens to our concerns. She is truly our hero. The whole team at Scottsdale Vet is! Today Sophie will be having another life saving blood transfusion. We are so grateful to her and the team at Scottsdale Vet for doing everything they can to help our baby. We can't thank you enough. Also a special thank u to dr. Winterwood for caring for Sophie at night....we know she turned a corner under your watch. To Marissa, Jenn, Ashley, Alexa, Angel, Dr. Fonza, Dr. Greenwood, Dr. Winterwood, Brandon, Beth (sorry if we forgot your name!) and EVERYONE who has given our Sophie care & love, thank you, thank you, & THANK YOU! We have a long road ahead of us and we are so happy to have you all in our corner.
So happy to have found a place we can trust with the care of our pets!????Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic was highly recommended to us and we highly recommend them to others. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The doctors are professional, warm and caring. The office being available 24 hours every day of the year, gives us the peace of mind that knowing in an emergency, our pets records are readily available. We’ve also, unfortunately, experienced their empathy, kindness and genuine compassion when we’ve lost our loving companion...So, 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ plus!!!♥️
Best vet ever. My dog Chevelle loves the staff here. Most dogs are scared to come to the vet, but she loves coming here. Even when she was limping and in pain, she was still so excited to see the staff. They took x-rays and luckily she didn't have any broken bones. With some pain medications and rest she was back to normal in a few days. The staff are always so kind and caring. Thank you all!
Almost a month ago, I came home from work to find my 12 year old dog in critical condition. She was unable to stand and it was clear she was in serious trouble. I scooped her up and drove as quickly as I could to Scottsdale Vet. As I drove up, Michelle (a highly skilled technician) happened to be taking out the trash. I called to her that I needed help and she rushed over to us immediately. She carefully and quickly pulled my old girl out of my car and ran to the treatment area with her. The amazing Dr Greenwood immediately examined her. The prognosis was grave and we decided that at minimum, she should stay the night. I’m happy to report that my sweet pup has survived this incident and is definitely my little miracle. She has returned many times for rechecks and we’ve had some setbacks, but with the help of the entire staff, she’s back to her old self! The whole team at this clinic is truly amazing. Every single person cares about the animals and people they help and it’s easy to see why this has been the top veterinary hospital in AZ for the last 5 years in a row. There are no thanks that I can give them that could compare to the gift they gave to me. But truly, from the bottom of my heart, I’m deeply grateful for more time with my best friend. These guys are the best! ❤️
Sadly. They are becoming more of a nightmare. Today. My poor dog is suffering from allergies, and I just had the 2 rude est people on the phone ever. They failed to get my dog in for her shots conveniently after her exam expired. Never even informed me. So now it's a cash grab, and won't help me get her meds for 3 days. I'm done. 3 years of my business is over. Going else where that is not so pathetically in caring, and RUDE!!! Way to treat a patient and a customer. Let my dog suffer. ???? for a better vet
I often wonder if my baby fluffs would still be alive if I found these guys first.. my baby was dying and they did a medication adjustment and he woke up a brand new dog happy, wagging his tail, eating and drinking again but unfortunately he was just sick and his heart could not last any longer. The medication adjustment they had done had given him 6 weeks more but I needed that time to accept that my best friend in the whole wide world was about to leave and go over the rainbow. The first vet I took him to was slow to get me back results (even though they had them a week before they read them) when he had a critical issue and took another week to fill medication he needed right away.. first pet misdiagnosed his stroke as back problems and told me they would not do a single thing that cost money without my consent and they actually treated him without having signed paperwork and billed me anyways and didn't tell me a single thing they were going to do ( I still paid them but they definitely lost my business).. it was a breath of fresh air when I found this place.... not only were they right on the button when it came to his diagnosis they were upfront about price and when I couldn't afford everything that I wanted to do they went ahead anyways and did as much as they could and prescribed the medication I felt he needed and refilled it when it worked its magic. I can't wait to have a new dog and be able to bring them in and build an everlasting relationship with these guys because they really are that good. Thank you for giving me six more weeks with the best dog I've ever had. It's been 2 months since he passed away and I still can't fathom my life without him but I know someday in the near future another baby will be rescued and I will love them just as much just in a different way
Just had my Blue Heeler in for dental cleaning. She's OCD with a ball and as a result has lost a few teeth. The doctor was very prompt in calling and reviewing her recommendations while Kiera was still under anesthesia and I appreciate her concerns. As a result Kiera now has a soft and smaller ball which I'm sure will not hurt her teeth. Always a great experience at SVC. PS: Here's my favorite pic of her at Bartlett Res. She's a real water dog and I reckon I'm her life preserver.
My wife and I have been coming here for many years, and we are always impressed by the high level of professionalism, kindness, and compassion displayed by the entire staff. Regardless of whether it's a routine visit or an emergency, everyone is responsive and receptive. I always recommend them to anyone looking for a vet clinic, even if it seems out of the way for them. It's well worth the trip. PS - The picture is of 'Lily'. She didn't appreciate me interrupting her nap.
Everyone here was absolutely amazing. They were the only emergency vet I called that has less than a 10 hour wait (I waited 4 hours since ultimately my cat was stable) and every person I spoke with on staff between the vet, front office, everyone was just super sweet and caring. I won't ever recommend another emergency vet to anyone and I will always use them if needed.
My roommate took their cat here to be looked at for diabetes at the end of November. They started him on a pre diet to return after a couple weeks to be tested. They messaged my roommate on how important it was to get him in ASAP. When she called in the next week to schedule they told her they couldn't schedule anything till today 12/28. She had a confirmed appointment, even had someone at the facility confirm it later on, and was not notified anything differently. She showed up for the appointment today and they told her they couldn't help her because they were too busy. As an animal owner myself, I had to comment on how awful of treatment this is to her cat even though they said it was important for his health to be tested right away. Not only that, they didn't even care to call her to notify her that they couldn't honor the appointment. She had to drive 10 miles away for nothing and on top of that they told her she'd have to wait another 2 weeks for an appointment! This is disgustingly bad service and not at all showing any kind of integrity or compassion as a veterinary facility. Update: they finally contacted my roommate and apologized, rescheduled right away and took care of the issue.
Every person that helped us at Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic from the receptionist, to the technicians, to our vet were nothing short of spectacular. The clinic was extremely clean and welcoming. We took our dog Ponzu for a walk-in emergency after he wasn’t doing well for a few days. We were in and out in about 2 hours which is exceptional timing for a weekend, walk-in visit and they kept in great communication with us the entire process. Ponzu got the treatment he needed and was in great hands. We are so grateful for Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and their amazing staff! Thank you!
I wish there was a way to give it less stars. Number one this place is way more expensive than other vets, usually almost double. Second, they had us do x-rays on our dog, then had us do a bunch of tests and even recommended seeing a radiologist when the whole time they knew that our dog had bone tumors and wouldn't survive. They took us for about $1,500 and definitely played upon our grief. Like everyone else says, the staff is very nice, the place is clean, but they are expensive and will try to wring out of you every cent they can. You were warned.
I took my dog in today because she hurt her foot I called all around to see prices at different emergency vets no one would give me An estimate of how much it would cost this was the only staff to give me an estimate when I called to see about prices they were so nice about it on the phone the doctor was wonderful staff was also wonderful they loved my dog they said she was the most well behaved for a german shepherd when they took her temperature. And the biggest thing they said it would be under 200 dollars I was expecting to pay at least 400 to 500 to get her foot looked at they are really well priced for a vet
My first experience with the Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic happened out of unfortunate circumstance, but I feel like my partner, myself, and our cat went to the best. Our situation happened in the middle of the night. They answered the phone promptly, and consoled my partner, who was understandably sobbing, and wished us safe travels while we made our way there. Once there, we were seen immediately, and action and answers were almost simultaneous. We were presented information in a way that was easy to understand, but not condescending. They presented us an array of options, catering to our needs and financial situations. They pampered our cat while treating her, and I'm extremely happy about the care of both our cat and us. We were there, at most, 2 hours. I attached a photo of Princess Buttercup, at home, in recovery. Thank you!
This was my first visit to the Scottsdale Vet Clinic. My baby, Koda, had a swollen face and a closed eye. After a day of not being her “beeping” self, my girlfriend and I took her to this clinic on Christmas Eve. Everyone from start to finish was incredibly professional, kind, honest and genuine. Dr. Hodges made us feel that our baby Koda was safe under his care. I want to be transparent and mention we were there for 6 hours (no surprise), it was a holiday and there were plenty other pet parents with their fur kids just as concerned as us. This was expected. There were snacks, coffee, water, and a pleasant atmosphere. My girlfriend and I want to thank this wonderful team from the bottom of our hearts for their care and treatment towards Koda.
We had to put our dear fur baby down this past Sunday. It was a painful experience, but I am so glad that we did it here. The staff treated us so kindly and were so gentle with my baby even after she had passed. Their prices are extremely fair, and they were able to give us options/pricing with how we would like the cremation. Thank you all for treating us with so much compassion during this time. RIP my baby Lexi
This place was the best place to take our little Mila. Mila had gotten stung by a bee at around 10 o’clock at night. We drove there not knowing anything about the place and they were the most helpful and sweetest staff ever. The staff showed us they really cared about the animals and they love their job. They got the stinger out in less than a minute and watched her for a little bit to make sure she didn’t have a reaction. The staff was incredibly helpful and we are so thankful for their kindness. Best veterinarian place ever. Would recommend to anyone who loves their pets.
Best experience I've had with an Emergency Clinic. They let me come in with my puppy. Dr. Reilly was very thorough with explanations and helped me decide on a treatment that worked for me and my puppy. Excellent service from the first call made to the point when we left. Thank you!
Unimpressed! This new rescue patient won't be returning... I'm unclear if an exam was even done since my dog was taken out of my sight but supposedly, "all is well." I'm told a teeth exam wasn't completed in that timeframe but somehow miraculously the age of my pup I was given by her foster Mom is inaccurate & my pup "could" have teeth problems - you didn't even look in her mouth! It was just a little too impersonal of a visit in my opinion. The doctor didn't even introduce herself! I'm new to The Valley & have just had far too great of vet care in the past in my home state for this to be a business I return. Churning money mill is what it appeared... The vet search continues!
Rewind 10 years ago and hands down, 5 star rating. Fast forward to present day, we can hardly get appointments, limited personalization, and the dog plan feels like a collection pot for operating expenses versus a service for the consumer and their loved ones. When we need the vet the most, they have not be able to be present for us or prioritize their existing clientele who pay a recurring monthly expense for service. Currently looking for a new vet abs will be cancelling services once we get our annual dental cleanings to maximize our benefit for our contributions. Highly disappointed in this company and the prioritization of growth over quality service and reputation within the community.
The front desk seemed friendly, but there was a lack of urgency and communication. We brought our cat in to get treated for ingesting lily pollen. On the phone they said to bring him in right away because he only has a few hours before being untreatable. Yet, once we arrived, they said it was a four hour wait. Poison control should take priority, as they said in the beginning. We were only seen once we threatened to leave, then they were magically able to see him right away. The next day we went to visit our cat, and were told we could see him in a few minutes. 45 minutes went by and they said it will be a few more minutes. Then they said it'll be a few hours not long after. I understand if the clinic was busy, but they should have said in the start to come back another time if they are unable to handle high volumes of customers. If we are told it'll be a few minutes then I expect that to be the case. Yet again, 2 days later we were told to come in for important bloodwork, but once arrived were told to wait because its a first come first serve basis (but we were the only ones in the clinic at the time). Then, for the next hour, various other clients proceeded to walk in and get seen, while no one gave answers to our situation. They even acknowledged that the bloodwork was urgent, yet did not urgently follow through on getting it done. Only once we threatened to leave again after an hour, they were magically able to take him back right away, after previously saying it's not possible to do for a while. Our kitty is safe, but if you have an emergency for your pet I recommend going somewhere else for a quicker and better customer service. While the staff was friendly, they lacked urgency and seemed to lack the skill to handle the clinic at high volumes.
Dropped to 4 star. I was very disappointed by the receptionists attitude. No reflection on Dr or tech team whom I did not see. I did however decide to leave. The clinic was busy and we did not have an emergency. Will not return until we have an emergency.
Paid $120 for an exam, decided to go somewhere else because I couldn't pay $685. They don't tell you about the exam fee worst experience for me.
Clean facility, open 24/7/365, appointments and walk-ins, kept us updated with wait times, ample parking, reasonable prices for their services and friendly, caring staff... Had to say good bye to my beautiful cat, Zeus, yesterday and they were so comforting to us during this most difficult time and made the whole process easy to deal with and the vet patiently answered every question we had which helped us make the right decision, she was great.. I highly recommend...
Without a doubt the most caring group of people I’ve met in some time. Knowledge, spend conscious, interested (In 1 instance, they sent me a text at midnight on NYE about an hour after leaving their office to check on our little one.) Highly recommend. Writing this as I schedule another appointment.
My actual rating would be about 4.7 stars. We recently had to euthanize one of our dogs for behavioral issues. It was a very sad and difficult decision. The doctor and staff were amazing and very supportive during the process on the day the euthanasia was performed. I can’t say thank you enough. My only complaint was when I called initially, the staff was very helpful and caring. However during a follow-up call to actually bring our dog in, the staff person asked a number of questions about us exploring alternatives and pointed out that it might be an issue because of age. Although this was not a decision made lightly, I understand the desire to explore alternatives. However, I was very upset and crying on the call so I found the questioning of our decision inappropriate at the time.
We took our chihuahua mixed corgi (Baby Daizy) to The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. Our DVM was Dr. Rian Calugcugan and vet tech Ursa. They gave us such a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! They took the time to answer all of our questions and going over the procedures and recommendations suggested. As well as handling our Daizy with care. We had bad experiences before with another 24hr animal hospital. We would end up leaving more stressed out than we did going in. We were really worried about Daizy after the first trip to the other vet didn’t go so well. She wasn’t eating or drinking and was walking funny. Bloodwork and x-rays showed it was a back injury. We are so Grateful for finding this vet. They let us stay with her and kept her calm. They even called the next day to check up on her to see how she was feeling and asked if we had additional questions. They really showed they care about our Daizy Baby. We are never taking her anywhere else but here!!
Top Notch all the way. From my first contact phone call to getting my dog in for an emergency spay, they were fantastic all the way. The front desk staff were caring and compassionate and were very helpful all day. You see I drove about an hour and a half to use them. I did a bit of shopping but mostly I camped out in the parking lot because I lived so far away it didn't make sense to go home. They had a cancellation and were the only ones around that would get my dog in right away. I called three other vet facilities before contacting them and it was clear from the start this was the place for me. The front desk staff were amazing. Shout out to Melissa for great customer care service. My tech that took us in was amazing caring and the tech that discharged us was so compassionate. The place was packed from the time I got there to pretty much all day and into the night. It is an amazing facility that handles a variety of pet needs. I would use them again in a heartbeat. I will drive the distance to use them when I need them. Hands down the best place I have found throughout three states I have lived in. Just amazing.
This place is amazing! I brought my dog here on an emergency (twice!) and the staff was awesome. They made us feel better and Yoda came home happy and healthy. They are so good with him, particularly because he gets super nervous. Dr. Roberts is the BEST! All the doctors are great! Yoda and I thank all of you! (And you can get a sundae as a treat! Helps to associate the visit with a Doggie Sundae ;)
Had to take my dog for an emergency on Christmas Day and the staff was outstanding. My son even commented "they're having to work on Christmas and they are all so nice about it!" They were kind, compassionate, helped us figure out a treatment path we could afford and have been calling with regular updates while our dog recovers. Very grateful for this clinic!
We have received excellent care for our dogs when they've needed to be looked at on an emergency basis. The staff is so friendly, caring and professional.
I brought in a stray cat that was hit by a car. It was confirmed this week that she has a broken pelvis. Scottsdale vet referred me to Humane Society, told me she wasn't hit by a car, and only was concerned with the cost. Outrageous and unconscionable. I will be sharing this with everyone I know.
Called at 7am was told for a walk in 2 hours..it has now been 6 hours and I'm still here...there has been no emergency since I've been here. I've asked 3 different times...I can't leave now because my dog needs medication. I don't know if I should leave...I'm about to break down crying...
Once your pet actually gets to see a vet, the care is top notch. But it’s all walk-in. All of it. You literally wait 5–7 hours just to have your pet seen at all. Appointments are booked out 4 weeks. I have a choice between making a living or spending most of a workday in a waiting room!
I wasn’t able to actually get a service from this vet. they’re not following the right covid-19 precautions. I came in early this afternoon and the lobby was full of people, which made me feel uncomfortable already. They said there was a three and a half hour wait and that I needed to wait in the building. I was so nervous because my dog has been vomiting all day and asked if I could wait in the parking lot. The lady at the front told me she’ll call me when they’re ready and asked me to let her know if I decide to leave so she can remove me from the waiting list. It was not explained to me that I needed to be in the property all the time. I assumed they didn’t want to have people gathering around. I still waited in my car and after 2 hours (thinking I still have over an hour to wait) I went to pickup my ID close to the vet. Of course I was called the moment I was “not in their property” so they decided to put me back in the waiting list , not as their next patient , but as a new patient and asked to wait TWO more hours. It shocked me that they would want people gathering around and they feel comfortable with THAT during this terrifying time. I explained the situation and that I’ve already been waiting for two hours and still didn’t help. The lady that talked to me at the front (Jesse I think) was rude and insensitive. I really didn’t appreciate her attitude. I was scared for my dog and frustrated that instead of asking my dog’s situation and severity of the problem, they just decided to have him waiting four more hours. Her answer was “you should’ve been waiting in the property like everyone else.” I came to blue pearl and they took my dog immediately and asked me to not stay in the property.
Oh the greatness of this Clinic. So, to start off, I was a walk-in customer. No appointment, but I had called prior and was told that walk-ins are welcomed but there was a wait time. I needed a few vaccination for my pooch(Mia) that are required for the Pet Hotel I was using for the following weekend(bordetella & DAPV), so i was prepared to wait. The staff at the front counter were accomidating to their fullest extent. Treats. Water. Happy tones, ready to play with my pooch and just overall excited to be working....on a Sunday. I wait. I get in about an hr and a half/2hours later. Longer than i wanted, but I was ready and patient. One Exam was done with Alana(missed her last name) was pretty quick. First time at this clinic and they just did basic stuff. basic questions. Gave my pooch the shots. Gave her clean bill of health and we go on our way. As i am leaving, i notice the waiting room is PACKED with people. I get home to schedule the stay....just to find out they Hotel NOW requires the first of 2 leptospira vaccines. Im crushed. Now....i have to wait in line for another 2 hours. I call the clinic, explain the situation, they ask if i can get here immediately. I get there within 15 minutes, i check in, wait for 10 minutes, Alana comes out, "whats wrong with little Mia?" I explain wait happen. She says, "I got her." she takes mia in the back. 5 minutes later, she comes out with mia taken care of, an invoice in hand, ready to pay and i am out of there with minimal delay. Alana....you are my hero. I wont be going anywhere else. Thank you for your compassion. It won't be forgotten.
TEDDY Recently I was in the unfortunate position of euthanizing two of my cats. This review is about both experiences. We adopted Teddy with a plethora of health issues and our goal was to give him a comfortable life for as long as we could. Teddy had no teeth and had a serious upper respiratory condition. We were able to keep him comfortable for a little over four years before he stopped eating and drinking. We knew the time was coming as he had lost a lot of weight even while eating. After spending an all-nighter with Teddy, watching movies and just being together, I made the decision that I didn’t want to make. In the morning we brought him to The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. I had never put an animal down before and was unsure of the process but they were extremely accommodating and kind. When we arrived, they put us in a room with Teddy. Everyone was very empathetic and helpful. Eventually, the Doctor came in and explained the procedure as we held Teddy. Just like that, Teddy was gone, free from pain. Someone came in and took Teddy gently from the blanket he was on. When they brought him back, he was in a box and they handed us a card with an inked paw print on the card and they made a print on a separate piece of paper as well. It was really sweet as we hadn’t thought of these things. I hadn’t arranged anything as I had no experience so the paw prints were a very nice touch. Nobody asked if we wanted them so it was a nice surprise, a way to remember Teddy. CHEWY He went from being his usual self in the morning and by the evening his legs were lame. After we took him to get checked, we were told he has cancer. The Dr who assisted us was lackluster to say the least. I felt like I was being judged and without any word as to why his legs weren’t working, she mentioned a lump, figures it cancer and that I should be thinking about his quality of life along with handing me a sheet with nearly $900 of suggested tests without any word as to what was going on with his legs. We left. Thanks for nothing! I researched and it seemed very likely that he had a clot and even if the clot released and that didn’t kill him, he’d likely get another one. I did an all-nighter with Chewy, we watched movies and hung out, by morning he was worse. His rear legs were completely useless. That morning I knew his life had changed too much for the worse so I had to make yet another decision I didn’t want to make. Everything was like it was with Teddy. The Dr was nice and then before I was ready, Chewy was gone. I had him since he was six weeks old and now here we were almost fifteen years later saying goodbye. With Chewy now passed, we all expected the same treatment as with Teddy. This girl came in and this is where this visit goes down to one star. The girl comes in and says she is going to put Chewy in the box, in front of us. I said, “Aren’t you going to do the paw prints?” She says, “That’s $40.” I told her last week that they did paw prints and we weren’t even expecting them. How it is now you are going to charge an extra $40 for ink? She replies that it is pricey. Meanwhile, she picks up my lifeless cat like we just didn’t euthanize him. To see her holding his lifeless body like it’s a wet towel was very disturbing for all of us. Last time they removed Teddy gently and then placed him in the box out of our view. This woman, so insensitive, so ignorant and now we have just seen her handle my baby like we didn’t just say goodbye. It traumatized us to see him handled that way. Then she brings him back in the box and gives us one paw print and tells me “Im not going to charge you $40, that’s too much.”umm, you should not have been charging in the first place so don’t act like you’re doing me a favor. Because of that woman, I can’t say we will ever come back. I am not going to risk having her take care of us and our animals. I am still in disbelief at her actions. Thanks for making an already horrible situation that much more unbearable. In regards to the response. I am glad we were able to pay for the training for your employee.
I cannot say enough good things about the Scottsdale vet clinic. I drive all the way here from Central Phoenix (about a 40 min drive) because they are by far the best vet staff I've ever used. I started taking them here only when I couldn't get my dogs in to see their previous vet for 3 weeks when they were sick. However I realized it was a much better clinic so switched both of my dogs over. 1 has gotten a dental cleaning and they did a really phenomenal job. Lastly, their staff is professional and compassionate. My dog recently cracked her tooth so I needed to bring her in ASAP, but I have a recently diagnosed Autonomic Nervous system disorder so I was very nervous to come in as I can pass out if I am upright for too long. I let their staff know about my condition ahead of time and they were incredibly accommodating to me. Both the front staff and the vet tech that I saw. I can't say how much I appreciate their help and kindness. Whoever runs this practice should be so proud and thankful for each and every employee. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, Scottsdale Vet Clinic.
We’ve been taking our animals to Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic for over 10 years - the doctors and staff are always so helpful and friendly - great care, reasonable prices - they are the best!
I’m not usually one to write reviews but couldn’t help but want to share my experience at Scottsdale veterinary clinic. My baby boy Pringles wasn’t himself and having some urinary issues. I called the clinic the night prior to my visit and I believe I spoke with an LVT who was incredibly knowledgeable and assured me he could wait to be seen until tomorrow (she was right of course). I was impressed with the customer service and care for my cat from the first minute I was there. Pringles was quickly triaged by Hillary, LVT and I believe a Vet as well and determined not to be experiencing an acute emergency (excellent!). With a reasonable wait time given my cat was not at risk of immediate deterioration as previously determined, he was quickly evaluated by Dr. Greenwood. She was kind, pleasant, performed a full exam, and educated us on her possible diagnosis. Hillary was excellent teaching me about the medications prescribed and how to administer to my little one. Pringles is doing great and I look forward to future visits. Thank you!! - Dr. And Mrs. Mirrer (Amy Hoagland)
I took my cat here as a new patient and a walk-in visit on a Sunday. I was honestly blown away by how nice everyone is here at this clinic. From the front desk to the vet tech to the veterinarian, everyone was incredibly kind. I could tell they were very busy based on the waiting area, but no one translated that stress to me. Additionally, the vet took a considerable amount of time to discuss with me what she was considering and the labs she wanted to order. I had some trouble with the cost because I'm a student, and she made recommendations for a less expensive in-house test that helped ease a little of the financial stress of any emergency vet visit, while still addressing the conditions that could be at play. Beyond that, the basic blood work labs were consistent with the cost of labs at a normal vet visit. The only difference in price was the emergency visit itself, which was still very fair. Thank you to everyone on staff for taking such good care of Kiwi (and me).
I am a recent new dog owner and we had our first visit to the vet the other day. I found Scottsdale Vet Clinic online as it was the closest to my house. After briefly reading their website and reviews, I called to explain my dog's situation and they said to bring her on in. They were very welcoming when I arrived and saw her almost instantly. The assistants and the veterinarian were patient and super nice as they cared for my dog. My dog is a lover and they didn't seem to mind all the kisses. I was very pleased with my interaction at the Scottsdale Vet Clinic and will be calling to book a kennel in the near future.
I brought my cat here a few months back when she got sick. I was very worried because I was new to having a cat and didn’t know what was wrong. I had suspected an upper respiratory infection after some research, and they confirmed it at the appointment. The doctor/staff were extremely kind and communication was great. I feel that my cat got great service but I ended up spending hundreds of dollars more than I should have for what was basically a cat cold because I felt pressured into doing additional tests. My sister also brought her cat a few weeks later (similar reason, it probably passed between our cats.) the bill for hers was even higher than mine, but they did remove one of the costs because they misdiagnosed at first. We were told from a test that she had diabetes, but a nurse ran in and said she thought the results had been switched with another cat they had tested which was what happened. I’d just say if you’re a new pet owner be careful with costs and double check everything. I hate writing reviews like this especially when everyone was so nice but the second situation was extremely stressful. Edit: i would like to add that they were very fast at reacting to emergencies, they were instantly on the go and rushing to help
Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic is phenomenal. It’s always open, and you can get an emergency or drop-in appointment when you need it for a fee. I feel like my animals always get the best care, and at a very affordable price. Our vet there is the absolute best, but even when we’ve had to have our cat or dog seen by one of the other doctors, they have all been extremely knowledgeable and caring. I feel the same way about the vet techs and front desk staff—reliable and committed to the health of my animals. I’ve referred many people here!
My family and I cannot thank Dr. Greenwood and staff enough for their “above and beyond” care we received for our 14 yr old Black Lab. We had to make the heart wrenching decision to help our dog pass to relieve her of pain as it was clear she had reached the end of her time with us. We are so grateful for the compassion and empathy that this staff gave our dog and family, we want to pass the message of how exceptional Scottsdale Vetenirary Clinic is. Thank you for such a loving experience in such an unfortunate circumstance. So much appreciated and highly recommend to anyone looking for the best care for their pets.
Overall the worst experience I’ve every had in life dealing with the pet health. I call told the receptionist my dog symptoms she recommended I bring the pet in but there was a 4-5 hour wait. We waited over 12 hours . For the veterinarian to do nothing, we left with no diagnosis. Customer service was just horrible. I would not recommend this place . I wouldn’t even recommend making an appointment. This place is all about up sales , and that’s their aim. They could care less about the care of your pet. Now the money is no issue however relevancy is keep. The morals & ethics of this place are below anything I’ve ever seen. Unprofessional, just ridiculous to say the least. I can’t even formulate the proper words for this place , but beyond believe. There’s a clear bias at this place & it’s sad that this type of treatment is reflected in animal care. YOU HAVE WARNED, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! If negative stars was possible I would elect as many as negative stars as possible. They did nothing for my pet.
Absolutely the most disorganized service i have ever experienced. Dont tell me that the wait time is 1 hour for a walk in appointment, then when i get there to tell me its 4-1/2 to 5 hour wait, and not expect me to leave and wait at home. Then proceed to call me an hour in and say you’re ready and since im not there i go to the back of the line. Either keep a tight schedule and be organized or dont accept walk ins period. Went to another walk in mobile clinic was 15th in line and was in and out in 30 minutes.
Beyond blown away by the professionalism and knowledge of the staff here at Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. We had a sick 1 week old kitten in need of urgent help in a litter of 8 and they stepped up when no other vet could help us. The staff calmed us down over the phone and continued to demonstrate skill and competence in our situation. You can really tell that everyone there was passionate about animals, we are going to switch our personal pets to this Vet clinic.
Always professional, always centered on the utmost needs of your pet. Have used them for both our dogs. Two of the times were for emergencies. The Doctors and staff here are more than fantastic. Even though the wait may be long, it was so well worth it for the quality care received. Live in Queen Creek but Will ALWAYS come back to this trusted clinic.
THEY MURDERED MY HEALTHY AND VIBRANT BEAUTIFUL TOY HAVANESE SUKI'! WITH KENNEL COUGH VACCINATION! THEY KNEW SHE WAS ALLERGIC . SHE HAD BEEN. GOING THERE FOR OVER A DECADE ! I AM DEVASTATED AND NOT ONE APOLOGY EVER MADE BY DOCTOR OR OWNER OF CLINIC! . On January 8, 2019 around 1pm my neighbor brought my 13 yr old Toy Havanes Suki' for a nail trim and vaccines by 7pm she was dead! She had been going there for a decade and still gave her a vaccine she was deathly allergic to. A Dr. Horsley took away the most important years of her life. You see, Suki', my toy Havanese was very special . She was certified my emotional support dog .These were the years I would have been able to give back and thank her for all the love and support she gave me all these years. What's worse is when she started having reaction to the vaccine and was rushed back there, a Dr. Roberts never spoke to Horsley ,poking and prodding her, causing more stress lungs filling with fluid. He told me that caused it.lI begged for him to let me be with her so she knew I was there and would start to relax. He told me he worked with human hearts and lungs prior. Well little dogs hearts and lungs are more fragile! He said he had to go back and clean up before I could go back. I heard him chat with patients on the way to her knowing she was scared! 8 minutes later he returned, with Suki (PIC BELOW) DEAD, wrapped in a pink blanket. She still looked adorable from being groomed the day before. The fur was wet around her mouth. I immediately went into shock took off her collar , in hysterics shaking and rubbing her heart screamimg for her to wake up! She was still warm. I refused to believe she would never open her cute little eyes again. I couldnt let her go, I WOULDN'T let her go! Roberts came in with another girl and he left. She tried to get me to agree to have Suki' cremated with them ! No way would I let them touch her again or gain another. He had the NERVE to tell me" she didn't suffer. That "she sat up, liquid spilled out of her mouth and she died". SHE DID SUFFER! She was alone, scared confused and wondering why that was happening to her. She was fine a few hours ago. Looking for me and I was not there because of him! ???? I AM DEVASTED!! I don't wide this on my worst enemy. They took my whole world away. When I didn't want to live, I stayed alive for her. She was my only living family . Now I will habe to pay to see a therapist 3x a week at $150 /hr. Life will never be the same. I never got the chance to say goodbye, to thank her. I protected her with my life all these years just to lose her to the ones I trusted her with the most. Advice: Older dogs don't need vaccines especially kennel cough if not kenneled. Keep them out of the vets as much as possible by keeping up with nails, bathing, healthy food, raw if possible and excercise. Below are pictures of her the day before with yellow bow . Don't forget it when you make your next appointment at Scottsdale Vet Clinic, DON'T! Their inuance company only offered me $375!! Just to get a toy Havanese like Suki is $5,500.00. ???? HORRIBLE PEOPLE! I used to absolutely LOVE this place. I cant believe they had two doctors that are complete narcissists not even caring what they did to our lives. I can't get over the night doctor keeping me from being with her during her last breaths . I believe she would have survived if he let me be by her side. I am very distraught over that and can't seem to get over it. I have to pay a doctor $150 an hour now just to watch me have a breakdown each time she sees me. Suki was free and she was the best medicine I ever had. Here she is the day before we was killed. She just got groomed and was in a great mood! Here she is hours later after they clipped her nails and gave her vaccines , dead, wrapped in a pink blanket. Horsley never even acknowledged this happened or appologized!
I posted a comment similar on The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic's website, and it was removed. So this is what I posted on Yelp, in case you are looking for a vet in this area.. My older chihuahua had to have dental surgery. Everything went well and everyone was very nice at the office. Several days following surgery the cough started which they said was normal, so I didn't worry too much. She started having days where it was bad, but was still on antibiotics, so still wasn't too concerned, but called to report the problem. I was advised a doctor would call be back. Well that day I had a dental appointment and was gone for one hour, and that is when they called me. When I got home and noticed the missed call, I immediately called back. That was on August 14th. I have called them at least 7 times since. On one occasion twice that day, both times promised I would receive a call back. Yesterday, I asked if we could at least get additional antibiotics and offered to bring her in and still no response. She is done with the antibiotics and still coughing a lot at night, but eating well and no other symptoms. From what I have read there could be an infection in the trachea or pneumonia from the surgery, and she may need stronger or another dose of antibiotics. We have had great service here before with my other dog, but seems there are just too busy to return a call. I also was on hold so long yesterday waiting, it went to voice mail. I did leave my name and number, but didn't receive a call. I called back later and spoke with the front desk and left another message.
I dont write reviews often, and I try not to complain when its not a big deal. But this vet will try to pry as much money out of you as possible. I waited 2 and half hours in a waiting room, paid $100 for a check up were the doctor pretty much just look inside the mouth of my cat and touched its stomach, nothing else. Then proceeded to try to get me to buy a bunch of medic add-ons that would cost me around $1000. I decided to just get her medication for an upset stomach. I payed $30 for seven 10mg pills for Omeprazole, which according to online statistics is only 34% effective. It also costs $20 for 3 bottles for 20mg tablets at CVS. So I paid a lot more than necessary. Also the pills were said to give half a tablet to my cat a day, yet the pills were full gelatine tubes. Don't go here unless you know how vets work or understand that they aren't designed to actually help your pet, they are designed to profit off your pet.
If I could give this place a zero rating, I would most certainly give it because their service is terrible! I do not recommend this place. I waited for more than five hours to get my kitten checked in and couldn’t see the doctor. I called to complain and the manager had the nerve to say that my kitten was not important when it clearly needed food and help while waiting.
I was told when I called at 5pm that it would be a 3 to 4 hour wait so I came at 2 am and was told the same thing. 3 to 4 hour wait 3 very sick dogs ahead of me. Waited about an hour in the lobby and another lady came in with her dog and she was told almost the same thing. 4 to 5 hour with 3 dogs ahead of them. Is this a story they tell everyone?
This visit was the worst experience I have had with a vet. Our dog got into some sugar free gum and had severe symptoms when we rushed him in. The staff put us in a room and said they wanted to make sure he was stable. We waited 4 hours for them to finally get us a treatment and found out they did nothing for the dog during that time. They tried to get us to leave him overnight due to blood work being elevated and saying he needed fluids. They left him sitting in a cage when he could have been getting fluid. Then they tell us to come back in 2 hour and stuck us in a room for another hour with no info. Don’t go to this vet!
This Vet is absolutely amazing. She is professional, caring, curteous and absolutely honest. many vets take a very long and sometimes unnecessary amount of time/tests to get to the root of the problem, not so with this clinic. They worked quickly and confidently to get to the root of the issue quickly and we can not thank the entire clinic enough! What else can you ask for? Dont hesitate if you care about your pet, this is the place to bring them.
Great service, despite them generally seeming to be understaffed (or overpopular?) Our pup absolutely loved Maddie despite having traumatic experiences with veterinary offices in the past, and we’ll be requesting her if she has trouble in the future! Dr. Tanaka was great as well and was friendly and expedient with the exam, and answered all of our questions confidently.
There's so much to say about this vet but ill start with our first visit. We brought in our cat who was blocked at the time and were panicked because we thought we were going to lose him. Dr. Kirby did a wonderful job walking us through the process and our options. For a fairly decent price (it was during emergency hours) we were able to save his life. He did got blocked again which was expected but this office has given us tips to help him in the future which has been working in his favor. We bring all our animals here and on the occasion the strays we rescue as well which is a huge plus for us to find a vet that is understanding when working on a budget and also trying to help the stray cats. We love this vet, and for them being an emergency vet their prices are fairly low compared to other offices.
UPDATE: The clinic reached out, apologized and made things right. I appreciate the phone call and follow up text message, ensuring that my kitty is taken care of. ***I want to thank TSVC for being able to get Diego in so quickly. I came home from working late one night and his canine tooth was broken. I spent the night crying and calling every single emergency vet clinic in the county, trying to bring him in. TSVC was the only clinic I could find that would do emergency dental work. I brought him in the next day as a walk in and waited (I was made aware that there would be a wait by the receptionist but I knew I had to take him in asap). They all loved him there and took great care of him. They did surgery on him that day and sent me home with a cat food prescription for his likely diabetic diagnosis. The appointment that was set for 12/28 was to retest him and diagnose him as either diabetic or not after dieting. I look forward to seeing them tonight to get the final word on what I have to do to make sure Diego lives a long and healthy life.** I set an appointment for 12/28 at 6:30 after they urged me to get my cat retested for diabetes. I went there after leaving work early, only to be told that I was scheduled for 1/28/2022. I swore I was scheduled for 12/28 and showed the text messages confirming so..they said they were too busy to see him. They offered to reschedule for 1/14/2022. I agreed to that time until I headed home. I started to think about how messed up it was to give my appointment time away when it was confirmed. I called back when I got home and the girl on the phone confirmed it was for 12/28. She apologized and offered 12/30 as their soonest appointment. Why wasn't 12/30 offered when I was there in person???
On Easter my dog Tracker dove face first into a cactus and got a spine stuck in his eye. I brought him here and Dr Hertz was able to remove it and save his eye! He was compassionate, and caring with my dog. The staff is friendly, helpful, and kind. They certainly won my trust! I highly recommend this clinic.
I have been taking my poodles to Scottsdale vet for about 5yrs now. I have never been disappointed. Professional and caring is very important to me. They are that and then some.. I have recommended SVC to many.. They too tell me they are please. And they are open 24/7. another plus.!
We have 2 elderly doxies and we first encountered Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic in an emergency situation. When we realized they were more than just an Emergency facility we immediately switched. They have helped us in many bad times, but have also assisted us in now finding a combination of RX food and affordable medication to keep our dogs healthy and reduce the number of visits we need to make. The staff is always amazing and the doctors are the best around!
I can't say enough good things! I needed to take my boy Kona in on a Saturday. They got me in right away. Front desk personal was very friendly, and our vet tech was awesome. Dr. Kerby is a gem for this clinic. He made me feel comfortable from the second we walked in and treated Kona like his own dog. Definitely recommend. Thank you!!
I called on a Monday to try to get an appointment as soon as possible for my dog who had sudden, visible teeth rotting. They managed to squeeze me in on Wednesday of the same week. They were extremely polite and organized, the technician and the vet seemed to genuinely enjoy working with my dog, and they answered all of my questions before, during, and after the dental cleaning and extraction. I was kept in the loop every step of the way, and they even handled me calling in the middle of the day just to make sure he was still doing okay. They found that my dog needed a total of seven teeth extracted. It ended up being about $1000 for the whole process, which while more expensive than I would like, was still less than half of what the dental specialists in the area quoted me. They made sure I knew how to give my dog medication, gave me comprehensive care guidelines, and even sent me home with before and after photos, dental chart and reconstructed CT scan so I knew exactly what happened. They followed up with me two days later just to make sure that he was still doing well. My dog went in with incredible mouth pain, inflamed gums, and dead teeth and came out immediately better. His breath doesn't smell, he's more interested in eating food, and he has more energy even though I'm sure the extraction site still hurt. I am thrilled with my experience with Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and plan to use them for my other dogs as well.
I have used Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic since I received my first puppy when I moved to AZ, they have been outstanding! I have since purchased another puppy and again great service, even when the first dog bit the new puppy's ear and had have it repaired. These people are great and provide outstanding service.
I have nothing but great things to say about The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. I'm new to the area and it's a relief to not only have found a vet team I can trust, but one that is available 24/7. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I really appreciate their responsiveness. They understand how much you love your pet and the uneasiness you feel when something is wrong - they are quick to communicate, and quick to follow-up/check-in. It says a lot. Thank you!
We had a life or death situation and Scottsdale Vet Clinic was able to get us in immediately. Even with very little hope when first arriving the amazing staff was able to jump into action and save a life!! We are so grateful and wish we could give more than 5 stars.
I used to love this place. Recently, my cat vomited blood so I took her in right away and got her seen. The first visit was inconclusive and the second one I spent $1000 on X-rays and blood tests to find out she has heart-worm (which is extremely rare and a simple ~$40 test). The doctor I saw gave me no information on how to manage her symptoms as there is no cure/ treatment for cats. I learned more from google than I did from him. Fast forward a month, I go get her rechecked at her normal vet and she is NEGATIVE for heart-worm. I know that it isn’t the doctor’s fault that the test was a false positive, but they are supposed to confirm the results. If they had, they would have seen she was negative and I would have been saved so much heartbreak, stress, and money. Safe to say I’ll be sticking to BluePearl from now on.
We have been going here for years for our kitties and doggies. I absolutely love that they are open 24 hours - it has come in handy more than once. The dr’s are knowledgeable and compassionate. I would say cost is average for the services provided. If it’s a true emergency, just go in with no appointment. They have always been quick to evaluate if they need to perform any emergency services. If not, you go into a walk-in cue and may just have to wait to be seen. No matter what, they have always been attentive and more than happy to help our furry family members!
10/10 recommend Scottsdale Vet Clinic!!!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We took our baby kitten in in the middle of the night and were immediately met with so many kind and talented staff members! We worked with Dr. Blackmon specifically and I cannot rave about her enough!! She was so incredible in every single way. She was so kind and understanding and even stayed 4 hours past her shift (!!!) just so she could continue to work with us and make sure we/our kitty were taken care of. She walked us through every step of the process in detail and we felt SO much relief thanks to her! I’m so comfortable knowing that our kitten is getting the best help he can possibly get. Support Scottsdale Vet Clinic, THEY DESERVE IT!!!!
This review is long overdue. My dog was attacked by a cat over the summer and we brought her here. She had been bitten, raked and clawed. It was traumatic. Dr. Demonte preformed surgery on her and literally saved her life. She had to have 17 stitches and 4 drains. Everyone at the office was so helpful from the tech's that we saw, both on the day of the attack and subsequent checkups. Including Cheryl and Melissa. Ashley at reception was very helpful as well. Every visit for a check up our pup, Harley, was well taken care of and in just two weeks you would have never known that she was attacked. She was completely healed and as happy as could be. We changed to this vet from our other vet for Harley's ongoing primary care. Sometimes they do get very busy so you just have to be patient since they do take in emergencies. If you don't feel like waiting on hold when you call you can also always text them. That works great for us. Very thankful for this vet.
I'm visiting from Colorado and came to the clinic due to the 24 hours of operation. The vet came in and immediately suggested a diet change, even though he is on a specialized diet per our primary vet's rec. due to food allergies. She hardly looked over my pup before classifying him as merely experiencing allergies. She dismissed all of the other evidence I presented to her, such as; my dad's place being infested with bed bugs and carpet beetles and my sister and I unfortunately being diagnosed with scabies and head lice, lesions that were very prevalent on one side of his mouth, joint stiffness, lack of appetite, his sluggishness, a pocket bubble that presented at his groin, bumps on his nose and legs, hairloss on his legs and paws, a swollen lip, the fur on his back side being coarser than usual... I asked if any of these could have contributed, to which she said it wasn't likely, said everything looks mostly good and reiterated that she really thinks this was all likely due to allergies; however she did offered to run $1,500 of blood and other tests, even though she was confident it was only allergies. Fast forward a few days and my pup's symptoms have progressed with even more hair loss and lesions; I suspected him of having Mange. I call to discuss this misdiagnosis with the clinic, after making sure to reference the $1500 worth of tests that I turned down (no mention of their vet's diagnosis of allergies) , I was insulted and called out the logic which didn't go well as you can imagine. Why would anyone do $1500 worth of testing if the professional is fairly certain it is allergies?? They said they will have a vet call me back, two hours later with no call I took him in. After checking in they came to tell me it would be a 4 hour wait and that the vet would do a skin sample test to check for Mange. They also made a point to tell me that without a mask they could not allow me into the clinic, which would be understandable had they offered an accommodation for my disability, which upon arrival my sister went in and prefaced with them.... We are currently an hour into the wait and quite honestly, how can any clinic determine the wait time based on emergencies? I feel this is a stall tactic to dismiss us due to their vet's initial misdiagnosis. Which is completely unethical. After an hour of waiting they saw another patient, and allowed the patient's owner to take off his mask after entering, even though there were 2 people with him who were following the requirements. Upon asking to speak with someone in charge they brought out Dr. Kirby who proceeded to tell me that my sister had declined a skin scrape that the vet never offered. He dismissed the entire situation and then said I could go to Blue Pearl. I will be posting these ethics and ADA violation reviews and filing a complaint with the BBB.
NEVER use this place. They lied about the cost of a procedure until I made the appointment, then switched the price in me day of after making me wait for 40 minutes. Worst vet in the state.
I have been going to SVC for several years, first due to an emergency and other veterinarians were not open. T have been very happy with he service, my dog likes to go there and is not afraid. They have worked with us as my pet has many dietary restrictions due to irritable bowel syndrome. I highly recommend SVC, the staff and veterinarians are all excellent. They have several programs that one can join and they do save money.
I don’t post many reviews but I felt this was an important one for me to write, even if only one person out there finds it helpful. It should speak volumes because we just left the clinic only a few short hours ago and, in the end, had to make the incredibly difficult decision to euthanize our almost 15 year old yellow lab. She was so sweet and loved and adored more than a lot of humans we know (lol). We brought her into the clinic because she had a large growing mass under her armpit that started bleeding yesterday morning and we couldn’t get it to stop. She already had difficulty walking due to CCL tears in her back legs/ knees many years ago. Given she was almost 105 yrs old in dog years, her list of health issues was growing longer, and we sensed at the onset of this latest one that it was likely going to present us with a very tough decision. From my first call to Scottsdale Vet Clinic yesterday, to my follow up calls early this AM, and up to the time we left today, the staff was so helpful, kind, and accommodating. When we brought her in, they immediately got us into an exam room & took her vitals. Dr. Briana Sowerby was the one who cared for our girl - also with gentle kindness, thoroughness, consideration and patience as we discovered what we were facing, and labored over our choices for quite some time trying to decide what do do. Once we made our decision, we then waited for a couple family members to make the drive in to be with her in her final moments. Dr Sowerby and her team could not have been more wonderful. She even arranged a bigger room for all of us, and told us to take all the time we needed once our family arrived so that we could all spend as much time as we needed to with our girl. Dr Sowerby made sure we knew she was here all day and assured us there was no rush. She even brought in a little “buffet of goodies” for our girl’s last “meal” that she happily gobbled up in no time. When we were ready (...“ready” not the best choice of words here because who is ever actually ready in this situation?)... Dr Sowerby carried it out with such care and compassion, explaining every step of the process very calmly and sweetly. It was very peaceful for our girl, and that is all we could hope for. With her growing list of issues, this was the final one that moved us to our decision. Given the prognosis for surgery and treatment options and her questionable ability to survive the procedure, or regain the use of this one of her only two remaining good legs, we knew what was the right thing to do for her. I want anyone who manages to read this to understand that even as I am still reeling from the days events and deeply mourning the loss of my best friend for the past 14 yrs and 11 months, it was so important that I get this review posted because as much as I hated what we had to do - for us, it was the gift that we believe we could give selflessly to her. Dr. Sowerby, I THANK YOU for all you did for us today to make certain that not only was Zoey cared for like a queen, but also for taking care of her human family too. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND the team at Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and and Dr Sowerby.
My dog told me it was her time on a day my Vet was not open. Unfortunately I used this clinic for my dogs last moments. The tech was nice and explained things initially but when Dr. D’Monte entered she said nothing. I actually stated that she was my dogs initial vet in 2012, and it was radio silence. She then said she had to leave to get a different syringe for euthanasia because “the angle of the catheter wouldn’t work with this one.” She reentered, said I could keep holding the dog and then injected her without explanation. I am in the medical field so i know the process of one med then the other for euthanasia but there was no “this is Whats going to happen” or “are you ready?” She then checked for heartbeat and said “im sorry shes passed” then left without anything like “stay as long as youd like.” Of course they have you prepay before the dog goes down, but I had to ask for a receipt and then go to reception in the front to pick it up, when the point of end of life is to go thru the side door to avoid seeing alive animals in the reception area. When I called to ask the timeframe on receiving my dogs ashes, I discussed my negative experience. The woman was receptive on the phone and said she would talk to the vet and the vet would contact me. Its been 2 weeks and there was no call. Anyway, I am sorry that I chose Fidos Farewell for my dogs cross over the rainbow bridge due to the unorganized manner and uncompassionate approach the vet took as if my dogs euthanasia was keeping her from something else. In my career, no matter how busy I am, I treat my patients like I have all the time in the world, especially if they were putting down their best fury friend of 11 years. If you want excellent care in the east valley, drive the extra few minutes to Oasis Animal Hospital in Chandler.
Absolutely LOVE this clinic! Open 24/7 which for me is huge! I've been taking my two dogs here for a few years now for everything from nail trims to checkups and vaccines all the way to a sedated dental cleaning and knee-cap surgery. I'm one of those people that gets super nervous whenever my dog has to have something done but with SVC I honestly don't get worried because I KNOW they will take amazing care of my pups and treat them like their own. They even check-in after procedures to make sure your animal is doing okay and to see if they or you need anything. I actually received a message today as one of my dogs had just had a dental cleaning a couple days ago. Bethany was who I spoke with and not only was she kind and friendly (I know I say that a lot but it's just so true!!), she helped me figure out a good dental bone for my dogs, answered questions about products that they have and give me more info about my dogs' visits. The front desk team is always extremely helpful and friendly no matter how busy and hectic it is in there. The vet techs, especially Kelsey and Michelle, are so patient and kind with me while I asked all my questions and so caring and gentle with the dogs. I wish I could remember everyone's names because I haven't met one person less than wonderful there. Just a huge thank you to The Scottsdale Vet Clinic for always taking care off our loved ones - wouldn't trust them with anyone else!
Absolutely blown away by the service this company gives! I never review anyone and this place definitely deserves the recognition ???? I have been taking my oldest dog to Tempe Lake Vet, previously Sundevil, and prior to that, Arizona Pet Resort. The main reason I have stayed here for so long is because of Andrea, the groomer even though Andrea doesn’t come out anymore and who really knows if she is still there. Andrea, you should move over to this place! I have 3 dogs and now I’m moving them to Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. This is what I want the owner to know of my experience last night with your staff. Jenny is absolutely amazing and she deserves a raise! If she was in my industry ,I would steal her in a heartbeat! Sweet, helpful, caring, knowledgeable and really cares about animals. Dr.Kirby was awesome and made me feel super comfortable. The girls at the front gave excellent top notch customer service. It is so rare these days to see this kind of customer service across the board. Thank you so much! Y’all have made a lasting impression and I will refer everyone to you. Keep up the great work!
Absolutely horrible!! My daughter took our family pet in to be evaluated. After several hours and $800 later, they said they would call the next day with the results (mind you the dog is very ill). The next day we called several times trying to get the results of the bloodwork. We kept being told someone would call us back. Finally I called and refused to be told someone would call back. A person got on the phone and said she wasn't the person that treated our pet but would "try" to give us some answers. She basically told us that our pet was dying of kidney failure. We asked several questions as that is a shocking prognosis. The woman then told us we could back to speak with the actual vet who treated our pet (never offered them to call us). Since then, I've called at least 10 times just to be put on continuous hold and be told over and over someone would call me back. It's two days later and NO ONE has called. I just called again this morning and told the person answering the phones what I've been through, she apologized and said there was no one I could speak with but assured me someone would return my call in 15 minutes... it's been 30 and I don't expect I'll be receiving a call. Meantime we are sitting waiting, stressed, scared, upset and concerned about our pet without ANY answers.
We came to this clinic initially for their emergency services. My dog had a serious issue that our old vet was not taking seriously so we sought help here. The staff was simply WONDERFUL. They got us in quickly due to the state he was in, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and comforting. They were gentle and loving with my dog too. We ended up using their in home euthanasia service, and I couldn't imagine any other way. Again they were truely wonderful! I will never take my pets anywhere else!
I would give zero stars if I could. This was my animals only vet their entire lives until they got so busy we couldn’t even make an appointment and were ultimately forced out to make room for new clients. We had to find another vet. Not very personal at all, all business here, ($$$) Saw a different Dr. every visit and I didn’t like that. I emailed my concerns. I would get in response "sorry, we will forward your concerns to management) with no other reply. Sorry things happened here the way they did, but that’s what comes with greed I guess.
10/10!! Last night our 7 mo old bull terrier, Nacho, had an allergic reaction and we were able to come in even though it was late. The ladies there are so sweet and made my boyfriend and I feel better and assured us Nacho was in great hands. The doctor and everyone working there was so sweet and helpful. The next day they called to follow up to make sure he was doing okay which I really appreciated! You can tell they care about the animals that come through and want to make sure both you and your pet are taken care of. Highly recommend. :)
I have never had such a terrible experience with a vet. There is a 1+ hour wait time to get your pet into their SCHEDULED appointments/surgeries, services scheduled are not always rendered, they “don’t go through Chewy”, and their phone lines always have a hold time. I have given them multiple chances to rectify their mistakes and I’ve been met with hostility. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
We were here last night for our dog Marble who was limping and didn't have appetite. All the staff were kind and nice to our dog and he was NOT scared at all with all the tests he took. They were really professional and they explained all the recommended tests and medication to me. Melissa was patient with me and helped me a lot by providing advice including preventative care. We really appreciate it! And special thank you to Melissa! Highly recommend!
After sitting for nearly 4 hours with a dog in pain we finally got to see the doctor but only after i finally let them know we had an emergency on hand. Then the doctor made us an appointment for a tooth extraction but had to wait over a week. Made it in to have the extraction and was told it was to drop dog off for surgery but we didnt get in until once again I had to throw a fit because she was in pain and not eatting for several days. The tec came in with a list of stuff that had to be done first which shot the bill up 3 times higher than quoted . one was for a tooth cleaning. The dog has maybe 5 teeth total. And they had no idea she was to have surgery . money grubbing barely out of highschool and the girls at the front desk need some serious training. I wrote that post early today after being at their cl8nic. I was tak8ng my little dog to another vet in hopes of actually getting her treated. Well the vet on 32 st and thomas looked in her mouth and guess what there wasnt a briken tooth that meeded ti come out. In fact she was showing no mouth pain at all. What was wrong was large tumors in her tummy and pelvic area. So she was mis diagnosed by scottsdale clinic and allowed to suffer for a week waiting on an unnessacary surgery to her mouth. Mia had to be put down because of the lack of proper medical treatment. I would caution taking my pets to scottsdale emergency vet. Not unless you want to be charged for nonexisting illnesses and potentially risking your pets life.
My sister and her husband lost their 14yr old lab tonight upon returning home at about 6:00 on a Sunday evening. I called to see if they would be able to pick up Bailey from their house since he had already passed. I spoke with Lindsey and she told me they were going into the night shift so didn’t have a lot of staff but her shift was ending and she would be happy to pick up Bailey and helped me set up getting his ashes arranged and a paw print. She was the kindest person going out of her way after her shift to help them and I could tell from the tone in her voice what a big heart she had. After she picked Bailey up my sister and her husband felt such comfort knowing she took him and he was at peace. I later called to make sure all the arrangements were made and Bethany helped me over the phone and again so kind and helpful this whole staff was. They helped me arrange this all in a matter of minutes and just the kindness in their voices was very comforting. Thank you for helping me and my sister and her husband through these very difficult day you are all very amazing people especially Lindsey. God bless you!
Scottsdale Vet Clinic is the absolute best place anyone can take their beloved pet. It starts at the front desk check in. Courteous, knowledgeable, caring. The veterinarians and their facilities immediately make you feel that your pet will be diagnosed, treatment established, along with follow up plan. Very professional and trust worthy doctors and technicians. I give them a big 5 star rating.
I want to start by saying that I am a former veterinary professional, so I tend to hold veterinary hospitals to an extremely high standard. My dog has a somewhat rare disease that causes frequent regurgitation, and puts her at high risk for aspiration pneumonia. Last night, she was exhibiting signs of aspiration pneumonia after a rough days, so I immediately took her to a veterinary ER (a different place). I won't go in to details - but my experience at the other place I went to left me feeling like I could not trust the doctor on duty, so I opted to take my girl home. When we arrived at home, I could tell that she was extremely uncomfortable and I knew I needed to get her care elsewhere. So I went to The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic, and I was SO impressed and grateful for how kind, compassionate, and informative they were. Their pricing is very fair, the technicians were absolutely lovely with my Olive, and the doctor was great. She listened to my concerns, helped me make informed decisions, and even gave me different medication options so I didn't need to pay quite as much for one of the antibiotics Olive needed. I KNOW from experience that working ER overnights is beyond stressful, and I can't say enough how grateful I am. Thank you to the entire staff and TSVC for being so comforting and wonderful. You are greatly appreciated!
My girlfriend and I take our dog Nova here for all of her needs. We love that they are open 24 hours but aren’t like an emergency clinic for their prices and their staff are so nice. We have seen 3 of their doctors for vaccines, a dental cleaning, and one emergency visit for a bad ear infection where Nova was scratching so bad and her ear was red and painful. They had her medications on board and she was fixed up in no time! All of their staff have been friendly and helpful each time. Our dog has been taken care of so well from their caring staff. Thank you Scottsdale Vet!
Love, love, love this vet. The whole staff from the first phone call to my overprotective dog mom follow up calls are wonderful. They are all very compassionate and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them to anyone. They are full service and I feel good about trusting them with my babies.
I do not live near SVC, yet I renew my dog insurance plan every year. 24/7 day availability. I get my 2 dogs' teeth cleaned, shots, MRI, bloodwork, and medications every year. I have recommended SVC to 4 other families who also drive here
Got here at 11pm and there was a 4-6 hour wait, no biggie compared to the usual 10 hours. Didn't get put into a room until 7 hour's later. I STRESSED. that we needed to be in and out because of a flight check in time and no one cared. You could hear the staff on the other side laughing and having a grand ole time while I'm 30 minutes away from losing out on my $500 ticket for my dog. I mean yeah have a great shift on YOUR time not with patients waiting! Extremely unprofessional and I'm highly disappointed with the speed of service being there were only 4 people here.
The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic is awesome. I had to take my sick pup in for a visit at 1am. They were friendly, quick, informative and helpful. They even called to check on him the following day. I am very grateful that they are open 24 hours for emergency situations, and that their staff is incredibly pleasant.
Through COVID and before the Staff and Doctors here have been amazing. I don't know what Scottsdale would do without you. Your expertise, compassion and kindness is so appreciated. You set the bar high! I also appreciate you considering cost when giving options for care. I was seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time and the nurse and doctor were through and answered all my questions. I know its been so challenging for you all. You are appreciated ????
They saved my puppy from dying of parvovirus. She has turned out such a great big girl now. She is a 60 lb German Shepard. She is a 1 and half now… This veterinary has incredible doctors on staff….
Beyond excellent service and care for my animals! Dr DeMonte is the best! 6 years ago - had absolutely no qualms about giving 5 stars. Unfortunately over the last year service has gone downhill - can't get an appt unless we call weeks in advance - always told we can just bring them in - as a long time customer I expected better, especially with a dog that has chronic non-emergent problems - but clearly they decided that their emergency side made them more money than scheduled appointments. Others I know have left them too for this same reason. The vets are awesome and Sierra has been fantastic about answering questions - I would give her 5 stars - but the management side of this practice has left long time customers in the wind - a manager did email me and say she would call when she returned to the office the next week - never heard from her or anyone there at all Luckily we found another vet that offered great service, was able to get my dog in next day and has her on the path to solve her issues since she has now been correctly diagnosed
Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic is awesome. The first time I went in they immediately took my dog into triage, as she had a ruptured cyst and her neck and face were so swollen. They were kind, and explained everything to me so well. They helped me and my dog in every way possible. The Veterinarian called me, personally, twice to check up on my dog. I have now put my dog and my new cat into their office. And, I have been there multiple times and I cannot say enough about how awesome they and their entire staff are.
I can't say enough about Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. I usually show up at their doorstep in the middle of the night, frantic and worried about my dog. The staff are always so kind, warm and patient, which immediately puts me at ease. I trust that my dog is good hands, and I always leave knowing he got the best care possible. I am so thankful for this Clinic and the incredible doctors and vet techs. Thank you for taking such good care of us.
SVC navigated my dog Boomer's elder years with love and care. He had Valley Fever, but lived years with it. Then he became arthritic..He actually passed at 15 years and 3 mos. from a seizure due to old age. We dropped him off and they took care of his cremation, etc. It felt like a family who cared. The staff really does care!
Genuinely the BEST vet experience. Our scared little puppy loved the veterinarian he saw!!! He went from terrified to wagging his tail and being insanely happy within five seconds of the vet coming in and introducing himself to our little pup. So happy and the prices are great as well. You can tell the people are caring. I LOVE this place and would recommend it anyone who loves their pet!
My parents dog has always been loved and cared for at this hospital. Staff is so friendly and obviously love animals and know what they are talking about. Lately my parents dog has been very I'll and has required much care. We are so very thankful for any extra time that Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic has given "Angie" to live. Thankful for all that they do!
Horrible experience. Despite the 24 Hour sign out front, the overnight vet refused to see my dog at 3:30am after the tech told me to come in. The vet was "not seeing patients." I called in about my dog's excessive urination and vomiting and told the tech that answered the phone I figured it was an UTI and would like to get my dog some antibiotics. She said that I couldn't get a new prescription unless I came in to see the vet so I told her I'd come in. I made the 25 minute drive in the middle of the night because they'd been great in the past. When I arrived there were two 30-something guys without a dog refilling a prescription at the door. After taking an empty pill bottle from one of the guys, the tech told me that the vet was not seeing animals and that I needed to take my sick dog elsewhere.
Slowly losing stars and patience with this office. My dog has been going there for a while now (4-5 years) and they are either having just poor training or constant turn around with their team. I Love Dr. Fonza, don’t get me wrong! He is one of the most straightforward and knowledgeable vets I have come across. I wish the rest of the team was communicative, understanding, and knowledgeable as he is. I can never get the correct answer when it comes to meds for my dog they have prescribed. I have to call multiple times to get the meds actually ordered. When they do come in they don’t call me but leave notes in their system saying they did. I honestly tried to schedule an appointment and Ashley said she wouldn’t do it but she would have a manager call me due to me being upset on the meds(this is a monthly fight I pay over $150 for to get these meds for my elderly dog). Since it’s already 3 weeks out guess I’ll be waiting 4-6 weeks to actually get an appointment since they never call me anyways. I honestly travel from Queen Creek to this office in Scottsdale because of the doctor but I think it’s time to go somewhere else! Sorry Dr. Fonza, I can’t go through a fight every month to get these meds and go through all these challenges. I’ve been doing it for over year now!
I was very impressed with both the clinic and the staff. Despite two emergencies more pressing than the issue I was having with my dog, they still managed to see us fairly quickly. The entire staff was so nice and sweet with my pup (who had never been to an actual clinic before). They were able to diagnose her immediately and give me all the medication I needed for her very quickly. I was very surprised about the entire cost, which was much less than I was anticipating from an emergency vet. My overall experience was great and now I have myself a clinic I can trust in Arizona!
Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic is the only place I will take my fur babies too! The staff is amazing and they always go over every treatment option with me that will be best for my pets. Hands down, the best in Arizona!!
My dog Sasha had much needed dental work done there. The office is run like the Bolshoi Ballet...efficient and detail oriented! The entire experience was just perfect...even though we left lots of teeth there and took home a very drowsy baby. She did fine!
Brought my dog in for emergency care, a detailed plan was provided to us when she was admitted. We were told to go home and updates would be provided. 2 hours later we reach out for an update only to be told that the vet was still working on a plan? I insisted they get her the blood products she needed as this was detailed in plan already. 2 more hours go by and I am notified she coded and still no blood products were given. My dog continued to bleed internally until she died in the care of Dr. Ault. In emergency seek alternative facility. They failed my family & I'd hate for anyone to experience a loss such as we did on AM of 11/18/21
The Scottsdale Vet Center is my veterinary of choice for over 15 years. From a new puppy to end of life of a much loved furry family member, SVC has been there for me and my families needs. All of the vets are tremendous but Dr. R. D’Mato is our “go to” vet for both our dogs and cats. She and her staff listen and researches to find even the most complicated condition. The Vet Techs are great and very helpful. Particularly Brandon. But all are spectacular. I trust all our furry family to SVC and their insurance program that has saved us thousand of dollars.
Poor service repeatedly. The office lost my pet's records and they take forever to check in, consistently. It seems like the staff has several communication and operational issues. They don't seem to be able to support the volume of patients they take on.
they are a great clinic but you can't get an appointment for 3+ weeks. Emergency wait time can be up to 7 hours. I bought a one year pet plan but it is unusable. My pet needed to be seen much faster than that and weekly rechecks would have been impossible. I am glad you are successful but availability is very bad.
On March 28, 2021 the Dr. and his assistant came to our house to help us send our beloved 9-year old lab, Bacon (suffering from soft tissue sarcoma) over the rainbow bridge to doggy Heaven. This was such an incredibly hard decision for my husband and I to make and the Dr. was so immensely compassionate guiding us along. Bacon looked so peaceful when he left this world. We miss him so much, but when we see the beautiful urn and paw print on our dresser every day that Scottsdale Vet arranged, Bacon is and always will be, in our hearts, every day. THANK YOU.
Dr. Daniel Fonza is very knowledgeable and thorough, takes his time asking questions to really understand the problem with your dog so he can give you excellent recommendations to help your pet and help you help your pet. He genuinely cares for his patients and their owners. Highly recommend all the staff at Scottsdale Veterinary as well here. They are a busy place. I know why...cause they are an excellent, dedicated group of people who love our furry pets as much as we do????????????????????????????????Highly recommend!!!
I am on my way to another vets office now, i cant believe i sat in a room for almost seven hours and not once did anyone check on us or ask if my dog was doing ok, i pushed the button from the exam room i was told to wait in and nobody answered, then stood with the door open pushing the help button just to be laughed at and the girl at the desk hide her face and role her eyes my dog did not get help at all!
The entire staff is truly amazing and the facility is so clean and comfortable! Everyone (absolutely each and every one) at the front desk is so helpful and friendly, which is truly unbelievably comforting when dealing with the stress of a sick pet! All of the nurses and doctors are so knowledgeable and kind too! Dr. Greenwood has been unbelievably amazing with helping us navigate through our cats Valley Fever treatment. I can’t say enough good things about everyone here! We’ve been in and out often over the past few months, and I’ve never had a bad experience. I’d give 10000 out of 5 stars if I could! I’ll never take my pets to a different clinic again!
We have 3 dogs. TSVC is far from us so we use them as often as we can. This is the best vet clinic in AZ. Maybe the world! They are responsive and take care of things better than any previous vet services we ever used. Dr. Greenwood is a Saint and dog whisperer. Trust me, trust the doctors, and trust your dog to this place.
I have been going to The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. This is the most nicest Clinic a person could take their pet. I have never had a bad experience there. The whole team is so kind and you will get all you're questions answered and feel very comfortable about leaving your pet there. The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic does a great job on any service you need for your pet. I am so confident in The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic I would love to work there part time and be a part of this wonderful team!!!!! I will never go any place else for my dog. Thank-you The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic!!!!!
I only recently found this 24 hours clinic when I had to have 3 cats treated in the last few months for different reasons. I was very pleased with the care and attention I received. I would highly recommend this facility.
Excellent service. My Chloe has been going there since November 2018. Have never had a problem. Great doctors and I love Heidi as her groomer!
We are always so happy with Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. It is half as expensive as the vets in our area, and the people are all wonderful, so we drive a long way to come here. We are happy customers!
Worst experience ever at a vet. We came in for two things with our dobe. First he had run into a wall and developed a limp (overly energetic 7 month old). So we brought him in because after several days the limp had not subsided. He also had developed some skin bumps after being boarded with a trainer. Which appeared to be some sort of dermatitis. The front desk was great and very polite (even though it took 3 hours of waiting for them to see us). But once we got into the exam room it went downhill. Vet tech was nice and very accommodating. But the vet herself was horrible. Tried to tell me the “bone issue and limp” could be related to any number of fevers (valley fever/tick fever) or other disease, even after I tried to explain we are certain his limp is related to running into a wall. All the time trying to sell me on different things we should test him for and raise our bill. She looked over his entire body EXCEPT his shoulder with the limp and decided she was do e and he seemed fine. I had to ask her specifically to check his shoulder again. Only then did she decide he was swollen and we should do XRays or pain management until the soft tissue injury heals. Not once looking at his skin bumps. I had to show her the skin lesions specifically, only then did she agree he has an allergic reaction or some type of dermatitis or staph infection. She blamed fleas and ticks (Our dog has never had fleas or ticks) and she tried to sell us flea/tick medication. Meanwhile (the worst part) while I’m sitting on the dog bench during this charade. A literal tick climbs on my leg! At which point i pull it off me and the Vet says “oh my this is embarassing!” My dog had never had ticks before but after going there I’m sure he will have them now! If you want to go to a vet and have your dog leave with more diseases/fleas/ticks or pick uo something from poop from the previous dog that the office failed to clean up before you enter the exam room. Go to this place! If you want actual vet help. Go somewhere else. Heck GOOGLE can help better than the Vet we had. She provided us with an estimate of recommended treatments totaling $2000+. We got some antibiotics and pain releivers from Walmart Pet RX for 1/10th the cost and now he’s fine. Worst experience ever. STAY AWAY FROM THIS VET!
This past weekend, we said goodbye to our beloved Zeus in the amazing care of Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. We brought him in on an emergency Saturday with breathing problems and were helped the minute we walked into the building due to the condition our dog was in. Sadly our pup didn’t respond to any meds and no changes were happening. We made the heart wrenching decision to say goodbye to our best friend and everyone from the front desk all the way down to the techs and doctors were so empathetic, patient , and kind through every step of this extremely painful process. This day was so hard for my fiancé and I but the staff here gave us the space to grieve, space to be with our dog, and space to just cry. I can’t say that you can get service like this at many other places ever and even though the circumstances were so tough, we felt cared for and we knew our dog was cared for too all the way up to his last moments in life. When we are ready to adopt another dog we know where the amazing care is for our next pet. Thank you from the bottom of mine and my fiancé’s heart for everything and thank you for all you do for pets. I can’t imagine this part of your job is easy at all. Thank you thank you ❤️
My main problem is how expensive this place is and how little they do, seem to care, or even seem to know. Took our cat in for pains she was having and an immediate fee of 130 dollars, they gave her a pain med as soon as she got there. Neglecting, to mention that it was an additional 50 dollars. So, walking into this place it was an immediate 200 dollar experience, but we were hopeful the vet would be helpful. Guess who wasn’t helpful? They kept the cat in back for FOUR HOURS making us wait in different rooms like a shell game. The vet FINALLY brings the cat in and lets her jump about the office freely, this is a possible issue if the cat has a broken bone, foreshadowing. She seemed to be doubting our story of her having pains, when they JUST GAVE HER PAIN MEDS. The vet ran NO TESTS, didn’t weigh her, didn’t prod at her, didn’t even LOOK at her. The vet really did nothing for an “exam” after we paid the EXAM FEE. We then wait another hour while a member of the staff comes back with a plan for diagnostics tests FOR ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!! No operation, no treatment included. We opted to to mitigate the financial damage and our 5 hour ordeal and took her somewhere else. Turns out she has a broken paw and started limping the next day… I wonder if it was exacerbated by the mishandling of the vet while she was on pain meds… Cherry on top, they didn’t give us back the blanket we had her wrapped in when we brought her, we were too worried to grab a carrier beforehand. Seriously don’t go here unless money and time are unimportant to you and you can stand to have them mishandle your animal. I’m studying in medicine and I notice a trend among vets, they either really care and are passionate about animals, or are so ambivalent to animal well being it’s bordering on psychotic. This place is the latter. Also, Remember good reviews can be bought, we went here because the rating were slightly better then other places.
I want to thank this clinic for doing such a great job with my dogs surgery, she has healed so fast and her incision healed up so perfectly! Unfortunately I do wish that there was better communication from the staff! I have had a lot of different issues with the communication about her surgery, to her over night recovery, scheduling, and payment! It has honestly made this whole experience super stressful! It almost seems like this clinic is trying to do too much at once!
Putting my dog down was the toughest decision but when the time came, this place made me feel so comfortable and at peace thanks to Bethany. She made sure to answer all my questions and was the most kindest to me and my pup. I hope she realizes the impact she’s made to me in such a vulnerable moment.
I’ve had the absolute worst experience at this vet. Walked in and was told there would be an hour wait for urgent care. After multiple follow ups, the time kept increasing. I’ve waited 5 1/2 hours now and have yet to be seen while receiving condensing responses and remarks from the staff at the front desk when politely following up. Throughout my time here, I’ve seen numerous frustrated customers who complained about almost every aspect of this location. With one yelling about the wait time and how the front desk set expectations far from accurate. I’ll be requesting Google audit these reviews as it’s unlikely that they are legitimate and following policies.
This clinic has a ton of vets and services from emergencies to grooming to dental and all sorts of stuff. It’s always getting pounded with calls and walk-ins, so I wanted to show them some love for their support. Today I had a unique need for my dog Porter - not an emergency need - not even something they’d get paid for.... Brandon and team still knocked it out in short order! They have helped me in the past via text, call, email, whatever I chose and throughout my time as a customer I’ve found them to be reliable, responsive and committed.
We love the vet clinic staff and doctors, however, there is always an extremely long wait. I know things are busy and understaffed but I feel like they over schedule appointments and take on too much to keep established patients happy.
Took my girl for the first time yesterday, where we had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kerby. I am so grateful (and impressed) with the way Dr. Kerby listened to me and took his time to evaluate my girl's situation. It will be a long road ahead I'm sure, but I feel much better knowing my precious baby is in Dr. Kerby's able, kind hands.
Amazing vet. Thank you for your help with our sick cat Sophie. She is feeling much better now. We will be back in the future for any pet needs, although we hope it isn't for our sick cat again!
I can’t thank you enough for the way you treated me when I walked into your office on Sunday afternoon with my precious Charlie my wonderful Pom. You see he was a rescue dog that apparently was abandoned in the desert when they found him. It was the grace of God he had not been a victim of coyotes. I’m told when they found him he was so matted they had to shave him to his skin in November and it was February before he was up for adoption. Because I was older at the time I wanted an older dog. Fast forward to adoption day I picked him up and every time I tried to put him down he made it clear he wanted to be mine, and the feeling was mutualI had him 7 years and we had a special bond until I brought him to you, as he was dying in my arms. Because I’m now 83 I have to think hard if I should adopt now, but if I do you will see me again. Marita Greene
This vet has misdiagnosed both of my pets as to having heart failure. One was placed on a strong heart medication after just a single view chest xray. I consulted a cardiologist for further testing/exam. The cardiologist was baffled at the major mistake SVC vet had made after he performed an echocardiogram on her. He said the xray sent to him from SVC was a single view, not recommended angle, for heart evaluation. My dog was immediately taken off the unnecessary med SVC placed her on and was told by VetMed her heart looked great with an amazing ejection fraction. Taking this heart med unnecessarily would, infact, eventually cause heart damage from overworking the heart when not needed. Second case was for my cat. Was told she had an “audible murmur” and based off of ONE lab value and was told she had advanced heart failure for “quite some time” and needs only comfort care “there is nothing we can do”. This was based off of one lab value (BNP) which is also secreted if kidney involvement is occurring. BNP can be present in the blood for either reasons. She automatically assumed and I was told it was advanced heart AND kidney failure. These diagnoses were made without recommending further testing to rule either out as to BNP production or verify credibility. I then took my cat to a specialist (VetMed) and had an extensive workup including new labs, auscultation of the heart (no murmur was found), an echocardiogram was performed and her heart had ZERO issues to report! ZERO! The issue was kidney related. Fluids needed to be given asap, however because of the major misdiagnosis of “advanced heart failure” SVC stated they would not do any fluids stating “her heart couldn’t tolerate it ((which may be true if she was in actual heart failure)). Again, without further testing, just one lab value assumption diagnosis. She has received fluids at VetMed and is tolerating very well. Could you imagine I had left believing the previous diagnosis from SVC based on one test? I could have let my cat get sicker & sicker and put her down because of misjudgment & incompetence. VetMed did mentioned they have been receiving many cases very similar from SVC regarding incorrect heart diagnoses as they shook their head telling me this. *******I would not recommend this facility unless you are only going for a dental cleaning. Even then, double check if anything comes up during workup evaluation ******
My experience with the clinic has been in regard to preparing my dogs for an international health certificate for future travel. In summary, this clinic charged $390 more for a rabies titer FAVN test than other veterinary clinics. Based on their astronomical prices, I cannot recommend this clinic. Unless you have money to waste, you can receive the same services at a third of the cost at other clinics. Services: The services that we received at the clinic were great. We are moving to Australia so there are many t’s to be crossed and i’s to be dotted in regard to the paperwork. Jen was fairly knowledgable about the process and everything went well for our visits. Prices: Going to the Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic for an exam costs $82.00 which is about $40 more than surrounding veterinarians. Rabies Titer (FAVN): $554.94 (charges at least $341.09 for just for the blood draw) at the Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and $164 (charges about $50 for the blood draw) at other veterinary clinics. A rabies titer (FAVN) is a required test for international travel. Having already had this test conducted by another veterinarian for my other pets, I was expecting the price to be between $150 and $200 as the test through Kansas State Laboratory costs $91 and I figured $20 for shipping and about $80 for the blood draw. I was initially informed at the clinic that the FAVN test would be done at Kansas State Laboratory. This, after I confronted the clinic about the pricing, was apparently false. They sent the test to IDEXX and first stated that it was a 35% mark-up from the $91 then corrected that statement to state that it was a 135% mark up. Assuming that they are being honest, this would put the total cost of the test at $213.85 which would mean that the clinic charges $341.09 for the blood draw. This is more expensive than a full panel plus the blood draw and vet appointment combined at other clinics. This is a perfect example of price gouging.
Having a sick dig on a Saturday night can be traumatizing. I called Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and was told to bring him in, but there was a two and a half hour wait. Out the door and on my way. I was greeted by a cheery, positive staff who took a look at my pug put him under oxygen. The wait seemed long, but nowhere near two and a half hours. The vet tech was very sweet as she took my pugs vitals. At no time, he was in the hands of my vet, and back to me with a diagnosis. I’ve waited much longer at my own doctor visits. I have so much respect and gratitude for this veterinary staff for giving up their Saturday night to help sick and injured animals, while maintaining calm and caring waiting area—very professional. Many thanks Pat P.S. My pug Is back to his old mischievous self, and he thanks you too.
The doctors and staff here are so kind and considerate. They greet our pets by name. They also are very good a explaining options for treatment and never push something unnecessarily expensive. I've taken three of my animals here and they've helped me nurse them through their old age, and up to that inevitable time when I've had to let them go.
It happened again. Boomer was attacked, twice in less than a week. TSVC to rescue. All is well, now. This was truly the most traumatic event I have ever experienced. Boomer is OK. I am not. Today he went back to get the tubes taken out. When we were leaving today, there was big Rottie there. I began to panic while waiting. The vet tech that brought Boomer out, was so very kind and walked us to the car. He didnt have to, he did though. I hope I heal from this. I cannot express my gratitude for his kindness and understanding. This place was AWESOME. My dog was attacked by another dog. I was a nervous wreck, he's my child. I called and was given useful info. We went in on an emergency basis. The staff knew how I felt and were empathic and compassionate. The process was smooth. I was very happy with the service. A notable point, unlike others vets I have been to, I did not feel like they were trying to sell me a used car, no pressure. I appreciate that. When I'm already stressed about my pet , i could care less about your deal on deworming meds. I have found my new vet!
The SVC is where I took my first ever puppy the day I brought him home to get his shots and I have not gone anywhere else since. They are extremely friendly and want the best for you and your pet. They are open 24/7 and when my pup was really sick early in the morning I rushed him over and they got him some medicine that helped him feel better fast. If I would’ve had to schedule an appointment somewhere I I trust them with my dog and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet in the Scottsdale area. If I could give them 6 stars I would!
Impossible to book an appointment and they'll tell you to walk in only for them to tell you that there's a 4-5 hour wait time when you get there. They dont care whether they keep your business or not
They always put my pet first. I love this vet, it's the best vet I have ever taken my dogs to. I see they are doing some work. They are so popular and so loved by our community, they are to busy. However I would not go anywhere else! 5 star for sure
Dr. Horsley is amazing! The vet techs were friendly and offered assistance with my senior dog. Dr. Horsley and the vet tech answered all my questions and explained the procedures. It was apparent that the staff care about the animals. When I spoke to the front desk they were busy but friendly and courteous. The wait time for a scheduled appointment was 12 minutes before we were called back. We will be returning next week for additional tests. I feel confident that Dr. Horsley will help us come up with a diagnosis and a plan to care for our beloved pet.
Scheduling could dramatically improve. I had to go to different vets and I was able to get an appointment within a week. Albeit, I am sure their service is good when you have the time to spare 3+ hours waiting.
Highly recommend SVC! It was a smooth process from booking the appointment, check in, and pick up. They are so organized efficient. The staff is professional and personable. We had our 13.5 year old cat in for a dental and extractions. The vet personally called after surgery. We had the same technician (Tabby) at check in and pick up. Loved that she was with our cat for the entire process. As a bonus, our cat is making an incredible recover.
I've reviewed this Vet before, but this is worthy of being reviewed again. They're the best Vet I've ever worked with. Forget the fact that the pet insurance they offer is AWESOME and my beagles teeth have never looked better. Forget the fact that check ups have always been pleasant. What really won me over as a permanent patient is their emergency services. My young cat was acting odd and I had a feeling he had to be seen. I took him in on Saturday and he was seen quickly despite a busy morning. The Vet tech and Vet were very friendly and informative. More importantly, they were both extremely compassionate when my cat was diagnosed with kidney failure. He was hospitalized and is back home with us. I loved the updates and the honesty and compassion about his condition. Regrettably, my cats prognosis wasn't good, but I know he received the best care possible. As a bonus, the vet bill was actually a lot more affordable than I guessed (Let's be real, treating kidney failure is NEVER cheap!), especially for Saturday/ER/3 days in the hospital! I know my cat may not live much longer, but I feel better knowing we gave him awesome care and have a plan to follow to make the rest of his life a happy one! My only regret is I didn't start taking my pets there as kittens/puppies. I can't recommend this place enough. It's one thing to have a good vet experience when things are going well and it's a basic check up, it's another thing when they make a heart breaking emergency a lot more bearable for me and my cat. Thank you for your help with my fur kids!
Our pets have always been treated here for over 10 years, in health and sickness. The staff has great compassion for the owners and furry loved ones. This last time Dr.Matera ( hope the spelling is correct) was great I hope she is around for a long time.
This is one of the only 24/7 surgical/trauma ready vets in my greater area and I absolutely love them. They are the only people I trust with my dog and the staff is amazing at dealing with my girls dog selective behavior. We call before, they let us in through a different door and it makes life so much easier for everyone. We appreciate these little customer services touches they excellent in.
Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic is the best! They saved my pups life a few months ago and have continued to be amazing with all of our follow up appointments. They are so caring, and professional and take such great care of the animals. Dr. Erin Greenwood is incredible and my tech Ursa had Nala in and out with a quick and successful checkup. If you have a fur baby- this is the absolute best place to take them!
My spouse went there and the experience was bias in nature, extremely long wait time. Our pet was brought in because the pet was critical. However, 12 hour wait because other pets (bias) was so call more critical. Our pet health declined more during this wait. No COVID precautions in place. The lobby is just disgusting. Very unsafe place for pets and humans . Vaccinated or not. We will move forward with making sure this place is known to our community in P.V. . Once home there’s no diagnosis. Be aware this is not the place you want to take your precious cargo !!!! The staff is very nice nasty . Rude , heartless as if they have a chip on their shoulders. Be warned , be warned and please read low reviews because all of them we experienced within 12 hours. Also sent home with meds, no follow up recommended. Chaos to say the least!!!! To the staff : Karma is real genuine kindness go a long way and you may never have animal issues do to your field. However, there’s other Medical things and you may find yourself on the other end of a wait . Just be kind, & caring if nothing else, because you never know who your patient may be(professionally) !! Very disappointed customer
Our two puppies have received all of their veterinary and grooming care at The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic over the past year, and stayed with them overnight. A prior dog had ACL and tumor surgery there, and ultimately end-of-life care. At every interaction with the clinic, our dogs have received great care, and we have been treated with the utmost kindness. These people truly love animals. They are a blessing in our community.
On Wednesday of this week my little Krissy seemed to be having muscle weakness so I rushed her in. We were fortunate enough to have Dr Greenwood help us. Dr Greenwood had to deliver some tough news and tell me my Krissy had advanced hemangiosarcoma and was having organ failure. Her kindness and compassion will never be forgotten she had to break my heart and I don’t envy her for that but she did so with such love and humanity. We can never thank you enough we are still heartbroken as Krissy went to sleep forever at home with in home euthanasia that night. Thank you for being so human and caring.
This is a paid for kill shelter! We brought our healthy cat in, they sedated him even though we expressed our concerns and they moved him during a procedure that resulted in the cat’s heart stopping and he died. They still charged us for an exam and X-ray, even though they continued to call our male cat a “she” the entire 8 hours we were there/ interacting with them. The hospital administrator made excuses for the doctor not know omg the correct gender and didn’t hear us with our concerns about their ability to complete an exam if they cannot even tell the gender of the animal. Instead of being brought back into a private room to be told what happened to our cat, without warning we were brought into the surgery room to see our dead cat on the table. My mother collapsed in hysterics, she NEVER wanted to see her cat like that and would not have gone back to the surgery room given the choice. This business is extortion, benefiting off the love and relationships pet owners have with their animals. It’s sick!! I will tell everyone I know how terrible or experience with this clinic was and I will NEVER bring another animal back here to be murdered. I would rate this business a zero if I could, they should be working on/ with animals I’d they do not intend care for or provide them necessary communication to the family about what is going on with their pet.
