Even though they fetched the file and had all the information in front of their eyes, they would not give me the date unless I paid for a certificate. He then prescribed my dog medication that was not suitable to dogs with cancer, this is what I was told at the hospital emergency room. During consultation they don't even care justifying what the procedures are or the cost, and then charge you if you wish to know what happened and what was it that they did. The BEST vet I have been to and believe me, with the blessing of a cat with loads of health issues, I have been to MANY vets in the city. The doctors and staff are truly caring and their primary concern is the animals’ well being. When I took my cat to Pillet, we were told by several vets that he may not ever have quality of life. That he has to have meds for the rest of his life and he can not eat ANYTHING but the stinky hypoallergenic canned food. All I can say is that Tiger is a happy and healthy cat who enjoys snacking on a variety of foods he truly enjoys and he takes no meds :) I am so grateful to my friend who referred me to Pillet, and I know I would trust the health of my cat with them.

Pour avoir passé beaucoup de temps là bas, je peux dire avec certitude que le personnel aime beaucoup les animaux et qu'il les traite avec le plus grand soin. De plus, les prix sont bien moins élevés qu'à la clinique à laquelle j'allais avant.

I had to have my two dogs operated on and following the surgery which required stitches, the vet advised me that it was best to leave my dogs in the clinic under supervision. Except that I later learned that in reality there is no surveillance at night. There is no one at the clinic at night. So, I absolutely do not understand why you did not notify me so that I can make an informed decision. If I had been warned of the situation, I wouldn't have left my dogs alone in a clinic where they already felt insecure anyway. One of my dogs, who is very small, has had time to split his harness! He must have been very anxious to do this and what surprises me more is that he was therefore wearing his harness in his cage which I think is unnecessary and uncomfortable for him. When I picked them up, both started to cry and one of them was particularly sad and panicked. If the dogs are hungry, crying, or whatever the need is after surgery, you just aren't there to take care of it. I have to tell you, I would have preferred to have them at home with me a thousand times over. I could very well watch over them and make sure that they remained calm and above all they would have been in their daily environment which already would have been more comforting from the start. In addition to this slight detail, the care was adequate (Original) Non, mais quelle déception!!!! J’ai dû faire opérer mes deux chiens et suite à l’intervention chirurgicale qui nécessitait des points de suture, le vétérinaire m’a avisé qu’il valait mieux laisser mes chiens à la clinique sous surveillance. Sauf que j’ai appris par la suite qu’en réalité il n’y a aucune surveillance la nuit. Il n’y a personne à la clinique la nuit. Donc, je ne comprends absolument pas pourquoi vous ne m’en avez pas avisé afin que je puisse prendre une décision en toute connaissance de cause. Si on m’avait averti de la situation, je n’aurais pas laissé mes chiens seuls dans une clinique où de toute façon ils s’y sentaient déjà insécures. L’un de mes chiens, qui est tout petit, a eu le temps de fendre son harnais! Il devait être très angoissé pour agir de la sorte et ce qui me surprend davantage est qu’il portait donc son harnais dans sa cage ce qui est selon moi inutile et inconfortable pour lui. Lorsque je les ai récupérés, les deux se sont mis à pleurer et l’un d’eux était particulièrement triste et paniqué. Si les chiens ont faim, pleurent ou peu importe le besoin suite à l’intervention chirurgicale vous n’êtes tout simplement pas là pour vous en occuper. Je dois vous dire que j’aurais préféré mille fois les avoir à la maison avec moi. Je pouvais très bien veiller sur eux et faire en sorte qu’ils demeurent calmes et surtout ils auraient été dans leur environnement quotidien ce qui déjà aurait été plus réconfortant dès le départ. Outre ce léger détail les soins étaient adéquats

At about 10:30 a.m. this morning I put my 1 1/2 year old Corgi/Jack-Russell, Nella on my back porch because she was vomiting profusely. When I went to check up on her a few moments later, she was foaming at the mouth and had trouble standing up. I yelled out to my girlfriend that we had to rush over to a nearby vet. Given our previous inconsequential experience with Pillet it didn't even cross our minds to go elsewhere. After today's experience, we will never go there again. I rushed into their waiting room, apologised to the five people already there and said, "My dog has eaten poison". And it was clear that she had been because she was now convulsing and still foaming at the mouth. An older looking vet standing at the door of his examining room, looked at me. I was expecting him to usher me in right away but instead he called the next patient. I and a few of the other people there looked at each other in disbelief. One person even said, "what?". I asked the receptionist to please go see the vet. She came back two minutes later saying nothing. I went up to her again and she said impatiently, "The vet said he will see you in a few minutes". About five minutes passed and Nella was still unable to stand, I asked if he was free soon. She said, "The vet saw that your dog is poisoned and says that you should give her water with salt to make her puke" Not vomit, not throw up, but puke. My girlfriend looked at me and said that she could go and get some water at the the local store. One of the clients said, "Why don't you ask the receptionist to get you some". I did, she told me to wait, I waited and about five minutes later asked again, she nodded and began signing up another client. When another vet came to the waiting room, I approached him. I asked when we could see a vet. He replied angrily, "I already know about your situation, I will see you in a few minutes!" He then slammed the door between the two of us. He came back out and unbelievably called in another client. At this point, after careful consideration, I pulled out my phone, hesitated and decided to start filming. If Nella was going to die in this office, I wanted other pet companions to know what kind of clinic this was and how people had behaved in her final moments. When the receptionists saw my camera, they immediately changed the way they spoke and went to get the vet who slammed the door in my face. He called us in right away. Once in the room he told me that he did not appreciate how pushy I had been. My girlfriend started defending me and I asked if we could just focus on Nella. Once the examination began the vet became nice and helpful. He confirmed that she Nella exhibited signs of poisoning and recommended we observe her or go to the hospital where she could receive round the clock monitoring and blood tests. It is just really so unfortunate that I had to insist so much to for what appeared so obvious by everyone there- to be seen right away because my dog had been poisoned! And by the way, part of the video I have does show the staff being very rude until unfortunately, they saw I was filming them.

Excellent veterinarian clinic. Dr Lieber and his technician (didn't get her name) are wonderful people who operated on my older kitty and did so with great care. I brought him in at 9am and by the time I picked him up (6pm) he was in great shape, couldn't tell he'd just had surgery. awful , expensive experience, first off took my labradoodle for her annual check up , and it was a DOOZY!!! FIRST OFF, I used to love Dr. Meder, today he was soooooooooo out of it, he didnt weigh her, no blood test, until i reminded him of both twice!!! and when he did do the blood test, he held her down a good five minutes to find a vein :( After he gave her the parvo and rabies vaccine. i go to the vet to have my dog looked after, not me to tell them what to do!!!! Icing on the cake, they told me they would call me within half an hour with blood results............NOT..............i called them, and they said i had to wait until lunchtime tomorrow??? i think this will be our last visit, unfortunately, their standard have really declined!!!

We have always had very nice experiences at this vet. We recently brought our goldendoodle pup to get fixed and the vet and vet techs made sure that we felt comfortable and reassured. They even called to give us updates on how she was doing. When it comes to regular check ups, they are thorough and informative. Recently on August 16th 2014 I called Pillet to ask if I can rush over and have my 11 year old cat euthanized. For 3 years my cat had been suffering from a thyroid disease and was on medication and for the past few days started vomiting blood and acting very disoriented. Unfortunately I was unable to go to my regular vet due to lack of transportation and it being very far. I was told on the phone by the receptionist that the vet would have to examine the cat before putting her down. I thought that that was ridiculous and demanded to speak to the owner/vet, Dr Meder, who said the same but suggested I contact my vet and have him email over the cats diagnosis to him, which clearly states the cat was in an unhealthy state and by doing so save the cat the discomfort and me the expense of an unnecessary examination. I did what he asked and rushed over with my cat. Upon being in the examination room Dr Meder said he would have to exam the cat regardless of the other vets results. All I can think of is they were out to steal as much money off me as possible, but told him to proceed and put my poor cat through the least discomfort possible. He took his stethoscope out, listened to her and took her temperature through her anus. He immediately confirmed she was not healthy and proceeded to prep her euthanasia. After all was completed I went to pay and found he had the gall of charging me $50.00 on top of the euthanasia bill for a 1 minute exam of an unhealthy cat. Often we hear of the insensitivity and price gouging of our city veterinarians and this is an excellent example of where this thinking comes from. I find Pillet to be crooks and taking advantage of someone is no position to negotiate or time to go elsewhere. I will never go back and have spoken to many of their customers who I know and hopefully they will never go back as well. I just wish I could do more to slander their name so that others don't have to go through what I did. Its just not right!!!

I think it’s important to know that the clinic is under new ownership. Before under previous ownership m, this clinic was amazing . We were referred here by the breader. Always had great service, and never overcharged. Staff were extremely knowledgeable , down to earth, and kind. Recently , we noticed a drastic change in the behaviour of our eight year old frenchie over the last two weeks. She went from totally normal, and healthy to very abnormal behaviour . Accidents everywhere , walking slowly in circles , getting stuck in corners , disengaged, and disoriented. When we brought her in, was told that she may have a UTI, and be acting out towards our 14 month old daughter . Though it was bizarre , as our dog loved our daughter from the day she was born. Why now? The symptoms got worse . My husband called a week later to say he thinks our dog is dying , as she is breathing heavy, not eating , not drinking , falling down stairs , puking , walking in circles, falling off the couch, and legs giving out. All these new symptoms, on top of the previous symptoms of not eating , drinking , disorientation , and disengagement . He saw another vet five days ago who said she is totally fine , and just maybe going blind . The vet suggested we book an eye appointment with specialist for today . We woke up this morning to our eight year old dog dead in our kitchen. I think it’s important to share our story, so avoid this happening ever again to another family. Hopefully the vets at this clinic will get better training . And again, this clinic was sold to new owners and management, so beware you may not be getting the same service you once received . We called today to let them know our dog died, the vet seems totally shocked and said he saw nothing to suggest this outcome . Yet the internet , and other vets we reached out to, suggested these symptoms suggest a brain tumour or kidney failure .

Very disappointed with the employee and wife of Dr Lieber. They renovated and added 2 pillows on the bench in the waiting room for decoration. My Yorkie was going to ly on one of the pillows and an employee was very rude saying the pillows weren't for the dogs nor was the bench. I asked her so maybe if the vet's office is not for the animals should we be bringing our animals here? I told her that something that is not suitable for animals shouldn't be in the waiting room. I've been bringing both our family dogs here for several years and we had to put one down there in July. I asked to speak to Dr. Lieber who is the owner and one employee told me, "Sure I'm his wife!' with a smirk on her face. Was this an intimadation tactic I had no idea of their relation. I mean really? He never did come to speak to me. When I paid my bill his wife was very sarcastic and was mocking me. I was totally disappointed and disgusted. I barely could talk because I had just been to my own doctor and I have a severe sinus infection and laryngitis. Dr. Lieber's wife gave me an estimation of 395$ for the following treatments my dog is to receive but she never gave me the slip for my visa payment or a written receipt for he medications I paid. I have no idea what she charged me. I asked if the vet who saw my dog worked at any other clinic. She answered with a condescending attitude that he did in Hochelaga- Maisonneuve; a neighbourhood where you don't find broken glass and garbage on the sidewalks. A paying client was complaining about that and the parking.

Apparently they missed it on the last visit. I have been taking my animals, cats and dogs, to Pillet for as long as I can remember. I have always received the best advice and care for my animals and know they really care about their patients as well as their owners. I recently had a dental emergency with my cat and had to try another Vet because I couldn't wait to book an appointment. This other vet cost me more than $800 in expenditures and now 6 weeks later we are still having mouth issues. So of course I've made an appointment with pillet, and they're working with me to discover the source of the problem, not just treating the symptoms. I really appreciate that they provide me all the options for a problem and several ways to diagnose and resolve them. I don't know what I would do without Pillet veterinary clinic. I think they should consider expanding into a full veterinary hospital so they can take in emergency cases too. As for my cat, I am between appointments waiting for results but she is already improving and eating better.
