I have always had very good vets.My shitz-zue developped so swollen lymphoma and after alot of testing, they did tell me that if it did not grow, that Cachou(my dog) would be fine! At first I was terrified it was cancer, but at 13 1/2 yrs old she is just fool of live ,she rubs like crazy and she is so healthy that I have no down she does not have cancer! The vet where honest with me and it was maybe a 50/50 chance, after 1 yrs and the lymphoma has not growled 1 bit. So I love this veterinary at jean-talon .

I've been bringing my animals here for a long time and had two bad experiences. My grandma declawed her cat and as it was staying overnight at the clinic it got an infection and they had to amputate her leg (very neglectful on their part). Recently my dog has been in so much pain that we brought him there three times this week and they never took blood tests to see what was wrong. Brought him to the hospital where they actually took blood tests and told us he was about to die that night if we didn't bring him to the hospital. Because of this vet, I almost lost my dog and now my grandma's cat is missing a leg. I will never bring any of my animals there ever again.

My dog had a stomach problem, called 9:30 morning, got an appointment for 2, 5 mins at reception, sat down, saw doctor in 10 mins, he examined my Maggie, found her in no pain and healthy, prescribed two medications for a week, reassured me everything will be fine. I paid my bill at reception and left within 45 mins. This was my first time to this clinic, it takes me longer to wait at the Costco checkout, I was in and out in 45 mins! Thank you Dr. Quirion and your staff for doing the good work you do for our companions. BTW, after taking the medicine, Maggie is feeling a lot better the next day thanks to Dr. Quirion. If i could give 0 i would. By far the worst experience out of all vet's I’ve been to. First off, I called to make sure they handled rats as not all vets do, the receptionist reassured saying they did. I explained that my rat had a really bad eye infection and may need to have it removed, She recommended I see Dr.lesage. I present myself to see Dr. Lesage, who they claim handles exotic animals. He prescribes the rat drops even though I advised him drops would not work as they haven’t. After 3 weeks, rats eye is worse and needs to be removed as I had originally said. I call back and the receptionist rudely answers the phone saying I’ll have to find another vet. I’m clearly upset because they just billed me $130 to open a file an d drops that didn’t work. I ask if they will transfer the money I paid to open the file just 3 weeks ago($80) and she says no and hangs up on me . Now I’m left finding another vet, spending another $80 to open another file and redo the whole exam we had just done. They were by far the worst experience I ever had. ( FYI Clinique Vétérinaire Beaubien is just amazing, I go to them for my cats and they would never have done such a thing.. sadly they do not handle exotics and don’t pretend to )

I brought my male rat to get neutered, and surgery went amazing, but while he was waking up he had a stroke, they did everything to try and revive him but it didn't work, his stroke was no one's fault and out of anyone's control. I think Dr.Lagacé did everything he could and couldn't do better, they took full responsibility even if it wasn't their fault. I got a refund Wich was very generous of the vet. ive never heard of a vet refunding before. I'll be coming again in the future for my other pets and future rats. P.s I didn't know how old my rat was so he was most likely too old for surgery.

EDIT: they contacted me for a return appointment to help treat his ongoing ear issues. They offered to charge me for a follow up appointment+ medication instead of the full appointment fee. He recently developed a yeast infection in his ears, which they helped treat the first round, but it came back and I had to go back to pick up a second round of treatment. The new vet who I saw seemed a lot more personable and seemed to care. She gave me some resources to a specialist incase the yeast infection kept reoccurring. They made the effort to reach out and try to resolve the situation and were more pleasant this time. However, this does not negate the fact that I lost 300$ here, so I’m changing my review to 3 stars instead of 1. ORIGINAL: I do not recommend taking your cat here if they’re suffering from ear mites. I went through 6 treatments trying to get rid of the parasites, but they never went away for more than 2-3 weeks. They only thought to try and switch the treatment when I asked, and it didn’t even work. I ended up taking my poor cat to a different clinic for treatment, where I told them about the medication my cat had been receiving at the Jean talon clinic. They were surprised, and I was told that the medication they had been giving my cat was mostly preventative, and would not kill any mites the cat already had. I feel a bit cheated. I have spent well over 300$ at this clinic on appointments, tests and medications for something that is usually relatively easy to treat.

Nous devons faire affaire avec des cliniques d'urgences qui chargent plus cher la simple consultation et c'est très dommage de ne pas pouvoir avoir un suivi avec nos vétérinaires habituels.

I go there for my cats. You should know that a simple consultation at a price of around $ 50. My experience has been generally good with vets. 1st cat suffers from cardiomyopathy (degenerative disease), my cat loses consciousness so I make an emergency appointment, on site a veterinarian examines him, she tells me that he is in Stage 4 (serious) of a possible heart. He had x-rays the same day (my decision, about $ 300) then a second appointment with a cardiologist was scheduled to look at the state of his heart. On average, $ 1000 and more for the exams (2 appointments, they kept it for a day). Ear cleaning (alcohol type) then prescription of drugs of about 20 pills at $ 20 .. While a product like "Revolution" would have been a better choice .. I asked the veterinarian for recommendations between- time for "Feliway". Finally, given the price of the invoice, I decide not to take the proposed product, the veterinarian accepted my choice with professionalism. The blonde receptionist in her fifties on the other hand, she did not hesitate to give her comment loud and clear in front of everyone, I would have done without especially since I had to pay at her counter afterwards, joy. In short, I go there because they are efficient and the appointments are quick to have. You shouldn't expect to always see the same vets when you make an appointment, the follow-ups are generally good. Veterinarians are professional insofar as the verdict is held between them if you see more than one on different appointments. Mon expérience a été bonne en général avec les vétérinaires. 1er chat souffre d'une cardiomyopathie (maladie dégénérative), mon chat perd connaissance donc je prends rdv en urgence, sur place une vétérinaire l'examine, elle me dit qu'il est au Stade 4 (grave) d'un possible problème de coeur. Il passe des radiographies dans la même journée (ma décision, 300$ environ) puis un second rdv avec un cardiologue est planifié pour regarder l'état de son coeur. En moyenne, 1000$ et plus pour les examens (2 rdv, ils l'ont gardé pour une journée). Quelques jours après, je reçois l'appel de son diagnostic, le vétérinaire m'explique ce qui à m'attend long terme et on me dit que son état de santé est sans gravité environ Stade 1-2. Je ne sais pas comment ce verdict à été établie entre les différents vétérinaires ou ce qui était mentionné dans son dossier mais j'ai trouvé ça ordinaire et embêtant voire stressant. Le prix me semble juste et fidèle à la qualité des différents services reçus par contre. 2e chat: J'ai trouvé un jeune chaton à l'extérieur avec une infestation de mites dans les oreilles. Nettoyage d'oreilles (type alcool) puis prescription de médicaments d'environ 20 pillules à 20$..Alors qu'un produit comme "Révolution" aurait été p-t un meilleur choix.. J'ai demandé des recommendations à la vétérinaire entre-temps pour "Feliway". Finalement, vue le prix de la facture, je décide de ne pas prendre le produit proposé, la vétérinaire a accepté mon choix avec profesionnalisme. La réceptionniste blonde dans la cinquantaine par contre, elle ne s'est pas gênée pour donner son commentaire haut et fort devant tout le monde, je m'en serais passé surtout que j'ai dû payer à son comptoir après, joie. Bref, j'y vais car ils sont efficaces et les rdv sont rapides à avoir. Il ne faut pas s'attendre à toujours voir les mêmes vétérinaires quand on prend rendez-vous, les suivis sont bons en général. Les vétérinaires sont professionnels dans la mesure où le verdict se maintient entre eux si vous en voyez plusieurs sur différents rdv. Les prix sont chers mais ils ne font peu de ventes sous pression mais ils vous en parleront (vaccins, etc), ils sont très à l'écoute des clients. Je dirais que le service au comptoir est à revoir et la mise en place de processus pour le renouvellement des prescriptions pour éviter les consultations à plusieurs reprises qui entraine des frais supplémentaires à votre clientèle. Une option où par exemple: x médicaments prends 2 semaines à agir complètement, si récidivice faire un renouvellement censée d'une demi-dose selon la gravité du problème. Aussi, une plateforme web pour prendre rdv, ça serait cool.

I Finally found the best Vet for my english bulldog! He is being treated there by Dr Francois Desjardins for atopic skin problems and other frequent little problems and I have been pleased with it. After trying many clinics, I can say it's the firts time that I find a treatment that provides long term results for my dogs problems. They really all seem to care and everyone from the receptionist to the technicians and the vets seem to be doing the best they can to give good treatments to the pets. Ça nous a donné le temps d'absorber le choc et accepter l'évidence; notre cher compagnon ne voulait boire ni manger; il se collait dans nos bras, restait en boule, ne bougeait presque plus; sa vie s'étiolait et ce serait de plus en plus souffrant pour lui. ⭐ L'équipe de la Clinique Vétérinaire Jean-Talon a été aux petits soins. Ils nous réservé un local au fond, où il y a moins de bruits. Ils y ont mis 2 fauteuils confortables pour nous! Déjà blotti dans sa "doudou", pour l'entourer des odeurs qu'il connaît bien, on l'a aussi enveloppé de couvertures douces et épaisses, mises à notre disposition, pour le réconforter (et absorber, si jamais...) Il appuyait sa tête sur mon coeur et ronronnait alors qu'on le caressait et lui disait tout le bonheur qu'on a vécu avec lui. Il semblait comprendre qu'il partait et nous faisait confiance... ???? On nous a expliqué les étapes, puis laissés tranquille, pour le cajoler au moins 30-45 min... Puis la vétérinaire est venue, nous a demandé respectueusement si on était prêts... Elle a fait la 1e injection, qui calme et endort, puis 10 min après, la 2e met fin à ses souffrances en quelques secondes... alors qu'il se faisait bercer dans mes bras et nos larmes. Il est parti en sachant qu'il était aimé.???? * Elle nous a laissés seuls avec lui, en disant: prenez votre temps... C'est ce cadeau inestimable que cette Clinique nous a offert: prendre le temps... tout en douceur... * Merci infiniment à toute l'équipe! ????????

They gave us the wrong medication for our cat which was suffering from end stage cancer. When we contacted them to discuss the issue, the vet owner of the clinic was inflexible, arogant and unprofessional. We were trying to explain the situation and he simply hung-up on us. Once in person at the clinic he continued acting disrespectful and arogant and one of his secretaries, that had nothing to do with the conversation and didn't even know the details of the situation, also jumped in and started being disrespectful. So not only did their incompetence result in our cat not getting the treatment it needed in a moment of crisis, but to top it all off we also had to deal with their disrespect and lack of professionalism....all this after spending thousands at their clinic. I wouldn't reccomend you trust them with the health of your pet nor would I encourage you to support their business. There are plenty of other vet clinics out there that are competent and carring.

This is my FIRST time writing a long review. I never felt the need of doing it but wow this clinic really deserves my time!! Earlier this year, my 12 years old Maltese had a stomach problem so brought her there and we had our very first experience at this place. It was just amazing! They prescribed her everything she needed and the lady (I don't remember her name) was wonderful. She told me also about her dental problems that I already knew but I was too afraid of doing the surgery due to her age. So I decided not to do anything for the moment and well eventually it was getting worse (her jaw started quivering). I couldn't stand the fact that it was only going to get worse with time and the vet also said it could get infected and might even get into her blood and she'll probably have bigger problems. They did the dental extractions 2 days ago (9 months after my first visit) removed 7 teeth and let me tell you this... I feel like Maggie is 5 years younger today. She's soooo joyful! If I only knew, I would've done it loooong time ago! I was just too afraid to lose her under anesthesia. I met Dr. Desjardins 3 weeks ago, he did her blood test and made feel better and safer about doing the surgery and I think Dr. Leblanc is the one that actually did the surgery. I haven't met Dr. Leblanc but a big thank you to him and to all the team over there! You guys are awesome, outstanding prices and even better service!! 10/10! So blessed my little Christmas bestie will be in top shape for her 13th Birthday on December 25th!!! :) I recommend this place 100%
