These guys seem to be out for money more than anything. Overcharging for simple procedures, performing extra work that isn't necessary, and taking 4 times as long as it should. Plus, they now want to charge another $58+tax for a simple follow up... which of course is going to last about 5 mins if that. They are nice people, but the amount they charge will mean I won't be going back there if there is any other option. EDIT: adding a couple of stars because they did a good job and our cat is healthy and happy. I was angry with the total cost.

Always great service ???? and they care about you and your pets.

I brought my Rabbit Bugz here in December to get him fixed. They did an amazing job, I now wouldn't trust anyone else with my rabbit. Thank you guys for the experience + explaining the healing process and taking care of my boy!

Awesome!

First time here they were wonderful. My dog was relaxed and made comfortable. The condition was explained to us completely so we understood. We saw a vet right away, not a vet tech. It was reassuring. My pet was in distress and the vet we had registered at and attended On our move to Moncton told us to wait 5 days ! I am so grateful to Oaks for treating my dog right away. They phoned and followed up. Explained the meds. I highly recommend Oaks Vet. They will be our regular vet now.

Great staff! Amazing service! They really cater to the needs of your pets and give an honest opinion of what is needed for your animals! Their blood donor program for dogs is another great initiative that helps get check ups and free treats! Thanks Oaks Vet!!!

They are amazing

I was very excited about their hydrotherapy treadmill. We went twice. They didn’t require any vet consent or referral. Turns out they are not trained in rehab. They treadmilled my dog with a knee injury over 4x what should have been her max time. They tripled her ideal speed and did not put enough water to support her back. They could have made her knee worse and she has now hurt her back.

After my dog BUDDY fell ill and rapidly deteriorated...I hoped that I would have at LEAST...one last weekend with him or that he might just need some antibiotics or something...I was sooooo wrong. I did not even know my dog had cancer...and worst...he was dying. Fluid was filling up his lungs, an x ray and blood test confirmed that he had multiple tumors and he could suffocate or have complications soon. Wow. The team at Oaks Veterinary Hospital informed me that his condition was very bad...my options were limited and had risks...my dog was 8 years old but heck...I assumed that I would have many more years with him ! This was not about me. I needed someone rational to be supportive and kind. This was not the time for me to be unreasonable or stubborn (I wanted him home...And I know myself...lol) But I knew very quickly this was not a joke. The truth was he had cancer. It had spread and fluid had limited his lung capacity to only 25% it would be a matter of time before he died...and possibly in a horrible way or by having complications this possibly while we might not be home...to help. Veterinarian Rianne Dykstra was very sweet...extremely professional...compassionate... patient friendly...and kind???? I can say the same of the assistant that also helped me that night. Even if I cried and left there without my buddy...they helped my doggy dowg...get to a better place ! I believe...better than this one. I guess I needed them that night...more than buddy needed me. Love you buddy ! Cheers my good friend. But thank you very much to all the wonderful Oaks Team ! Merci beaucoup !!???? I want to say thank you to her entire team ! A very kind veterinarian Rianne Dykstra...and all the kind staff ☺️ Big thanks ????

Dr. Brett really cares about each of his patients. He has been very helpful and easy to understand in the recovery of Kasey. Although her illness is unknown, he has brought her back from the brink of death and we are so happy to still have her in our family. Thanks to all the staff at Oaks. He has a great team.????????

Our country Life in the making

My husband and I are very happy that we brought our then 4 year old to the oaks vet. We've never seen an animal hospital so clean and the staff was so patient and understanding of our cat's temper. They truly cared for our cat as much as we do.Unfortunately he had an extended visit again this year.Again thanks to the hard working staff we have our cat home safe and sound with assurance that he had all the medication care and attention he needed. Having been to other places where we felt our cat was just another appointment, the staff was really attentive and ready to answer the many, many questions we had.We were also impressed to actually speak to the doctor who is medicating & operating on our cat instead of a faceless name.We wouldn't go anywhere else no matter how more or how less it cost! Thanks again

Michelle Marie Tibando

Welcoming staff. They care about your pets here.

Called on a Saturday night with a frost warning out after finding 2 young kittens whos mother had been killed. Explained that we were a regular customer and the situation and hoped they would take the kittens. They refused and said we'd have to wait until Sunday at noon when the SPCA opened. We finally found a cat rescue that came and got them at 11:30 at night. The most un-caring vet clinic we've ever dealt with. And the last time we ever used them.

My wife took our dog to this vet this morning for an ear ache. The vet scared her half to death in order to get her to agree to unnecessary tests. Complete cash grab, stay away.

Saying goodbye to my dog was one of the hardest and saddest days of my life. The staff at the Oaks handled us with care and sensitivity. Highly recommend.

My cat had a super raspy meow which was quite concerning to me, I called my usual vet who didn’t have any openings until late October so I called around and came across Oaks vet. They scheduled me in right away despite their busy days and went above and beyond for my cats needs. I absolutely recommend this place, and will definitely be transferring all my files over to Oaks. Their knowledge helped me better understand my cats issues, and they did not try and “just take my money” as some other vets do. They talked me through all the steps of medication, the costs and even said before we do something extremely costly we will try this method first and if there is no improvements then we will do fancier stuff (x-rays, etc..) they truly care about your pets health!

Hope Tummonds

They helped me out where another animal hospital was going to have me wait for days

We were referred to the Oaks during a very difficult situation with one of our pets. Being they had a vet that specialized in cardiac care, they were our best shot. The entire team was so compassionate and kind. While we spent the better part of the day here and wait times were long, it was completely understandable. When the vet did finally get to speak with us after having our pet for testing and monitoring all day, she spent over an hour with us clearly describing exactly what was going on with our pet, and what all of the options were. She was not rushed, she was not distracted. We had her full attention and were her priority in that moment. She so obviously cared about the well being of our pet just as much as we did. While we have only had the one opportunity to deal with the Oaks Vet, they made quite an impact. We would, without hesitation, refer all to this vet clinic. The knowledgeable and compassionate staff are just amazing.

The Pros: It's easy & fast to get an appointment, good location, lot's of parking. Clean. Honest staff. Friendly receptionist; I think her name was Alison. The experience I had with my leopard gecko did not meet my expectations. After a recommendation from a friend, I brought my leopard gecko in because one of his eyes was stuck shut, he wasn't eating and was lethargic. The innitial session was okay. I felt like Dr T was honest about what he could(or couldn't) do and only made a diagnosis based on "what he could see with his eyes" as he put it. He did show me that he removed a ball of tissue from my geckos mouth, looked at it under a microscope and it was infected. I left with antibiotics and eye ointment ($229). The next day my gecko was a lot worst and swollen but on the opposent side of his face . I was very worried so I made another appointment. I wasn't exactly sure what they did or which side because I wasn't allowed in the room. When I went back, they took my gecko away from me as soon as I got there and let me sit in the "waiting area" by myself. After about half an hour I inquired as to why I couldn't be with my pet and was told "covid". I can't help but feel that if it had been a dog, things might've been different. I have never experienced this at any other vet unless it's for surgery. Even after Covid. This follow up was $104 (reduced to $70 - Thank you.) On my 3rd "progess exam" the vet, Dr T seemed kind of annoyed with me and made me feel like he was in a rush, that he had more important patients. This lizard is my little buddy that I have taken care of everyday for the past 15 years. I am paying a lot of money to talk to you because I am concerned. Eklipse should be treated with as much love and understanding as any other animal that they see. I dont think they are liscenced to treat reptiles - I don't think anyone in Moncton is. I do appreciate that they gave me a discount on my second visit, but the prices are still outreageous. On my last progress exam, Dr T looked into my geckos mouth(in a different room), told me the same thing he told me the last time and it cost $85. The last thing he said to me was "if he's better in 7 to 10 days you don't have to bother me anymore"... Did my Leopard Gecko get better? Yeah... Could the experience at this clinic have been improved? Yes. Overall I did not feel like some of my concerns were taken seriously. I will not be taking my gecko or any of my other animals to this clinic. I would not recommend this place. Especially not for reptiles.

I came across this Clinic when traveling to New Brunswick from Ontario. I was in a bit of a pickle as my dog completely ran out of his regular medication. Receptionists at the Oaks Veterinary clinic were WONDERFUL, so incredibly helpful!!! Called my clinic back home & got approval from my DVM. I was able to pick up what I needed without any hassle. Thank you so much!

We brought out chocolate lab there after being to the vet in our area more then once and she was getting worse so we drove down to this vet and they were very understanding very gentle with her we got a second opinion and sadly we ended up driving down the next night to put her down she was in so much pain and bleeding very badly inside when we took her in they gave us enough time to say our goodbyes would definitely recommend them to anyone that needed medical attention for they’re animals yes it can be expensive but when your animals are part of your family sometimes it worth it

Daughter of the vet started calling me poor and saying I shouldnt have my geckos if i cant afford to save them because theyre going to die, but only seems like theres something wrong witg her eyes but because Im 16 and dont have 300$ just for them to tell me whats wrong with my gecko, im poor?? I obviously dont want my lil geck baby to die, but I dont have 300$ just for them to check her and than whatever amount of money to pay for them to help her. All the reviews on this vet is horrible. 3.2, lowest ratings for all the vets in moncton NB. This place probably shouldnt even be open. I dont even want to give this place a 1 start but its the only way to let you guys know about how this place only cares about the money.

Great service, friendly staff, but quite pricey

HORRIBLE PLACE! Denied care cuz i didnt have 150$ on the spot at 12 at night to give them to help my cat who has been a loved family member of 3 years, only to have him suffer for another 2 before we could find any other vet in the city who had a heart cuz within 8 hours we had cheapo's fn 150$, instead his god damn GREED kills my cat...... Anyone if you love your animals, DO NOT take them to this MURDERER!

Very disappointed with the level of service I got from this establishment. My dog (son) had passed away and brought him there to get cremated. I had asked them when I could pick him up and I was told after my vacation. I dropped him off on Feb 1, and went back on the 20th and they had NO IDEA WHERE MY SON WAS. I went to the SPCA myself to ask where he was, and I was told that I could not pick him up that he had to be released to the vet. When going back to The Oak vet clinic at 3:45pm, I waited 15 minutes ringing the door with no one their after they had just called me to come down and get him... Very disappointed with the way they treated my son and the way they served me. I have 2 other family members and won't be going back.

The clinic fitted us in very quickly one evening after we got home and found our dog limping badly and in a great deal of discomfort. Staff were very friendly and we appreciated that. However, we do have a major issue. After the doctor examined her, we were told it was a knee issue and could be stretched ligaments. We were given an anti inflammatory med and sent on our way $160 later. My husband took the next day off to be with her and noticed blood on her thigh. He took her back and they found a large cyst on the thigh of the same sore leg. It had to be drained and she was put on antibiotics. Within 24 hours no more limping and back to herself. Very disappointed in the misdiagnosis on the first visit and it costing us for the second visit that should not have been necessary.

I brought my 6 month old puppy in for an emergency, and I must say the fact that they are open 24/7 is the only convenient/positive aspect of this clinic. Instead of coaching us through what we should do to help our dog, the doctor put all options on the table (including an "exploratory surgery" which would cost over 800$) and let us decide. This was very upsetting and stressful. Luckily, we chose wisely to omit the surgery since we later found out she was only suffering from worms. She stayed overnight, and not once did they call me to update me on her situation. They misinformed me about the medication she had to take, and they "lost" her stool sample I brought in a few weeks after her appointment. Front desk staff ignores customers upon arrival. There is an important lack of proactiveness and customer service in my opinion. They offered me a discount on her next appointment, but I can assure you I will never bring my pet there again.

Christmas Eve 2015, we were just about to sit down to our family Christmas Supper, when our 11 week old pup (Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd) Jed was vomiting often for no apparent reason. Due to stellar service from Oaks Vet Clinic with my 10 year old Chocolate Lab in 2014, we took Jed to Oaks (I had an appointment within 75 minutes of my call). Dr. Tremble showed me x-rays and explained everything clearly (rawhide stuck in Jeds' intestine/stomach which was my fault for buying the cheaper ones - have since been advised that rawhide has been responsible for many casualties), and that the blockage meant he needed surgery. The cost of surgery was an amount that my family could not come up with, especially since it was Christmas and finances were hurting. Oaks staff said I could monitor him and bring him back if it got worse but outlook was not good and they felt strongly that they could help him. Reluctantly told them I really didn't have any choice due to finances. When Dr. Tremble heard I was taking Jed home, he came into lobby. He said he wanted to help- WHATEVER it took to save the puppy and that he would do the surgery - for FREE. All I could do was shake his hand as tears would not stop (a grown man standing there in tears in front of the Doc and his staff). We only had Jed for 10 days at that time but we were already in love with him. The Doctor performed the surgery in the next couple of hours and that evening (Christmas Eve) we got the call from The Oaks staff saying the surgery was a complete success and they were keeping Jed overnight for observation. We got Jed back on Christmas Day(sporting a cone for several days) and Oaks' staff has called for updates on Jed. I had taken my Chocolate Lab Duke there previously and have also purchased dog and cat meds/flea supplies from Oaks. Every time I'm there, it's like you are walking into the lobby of a grand hotel, with superior customer service, but it's so much more than that, as every person you come into contact with from the Doctors to the Vet Techs/Assistants and the reception folks (I'm guessing they also are Vet Techs or similar backgrounds) everyone is so caring. THANK YOU Dr. Tremble and Oaks Staff for our Christmas Miracle!! Our family thanks you! Without Dr. Tremble and the Oaks Folks ( doctors, Vet Techs and admin staff), we may have had a terrible outcome instead of this Christmas Miracle! I personally and on behalf of my wife, kids and grand-kids HIGHLY recommend The Oaks Veterinary Clinic.

I've been bringing my pets to the Oaks for several years and have nothing but praise for the work they've done. The frontline staff are consistently friendly and informative; and the vets have always gone above and beyond in the care they've given my critters. Their hours of operation can't be beat, which makes it easy to get an appointment when needed, or right away during emergencies. Brett and his team are worth every penny!

Our dog stopped walking and eating over the weekend. We called to get an appointment and the staff were very prompt in responding. We had an appointment that day. After a few questions and physical the staff ordered blood work and an x-ray. It was suggested he needed hip surgery but we were given a few options from medicine to full surgery. Dr. Tremble took the time to explain all the various options and possible outcomes given our dogs age and condition. We opted for surgery as we felt very comfortable with the explanations and outcomes. Dr. Tremble did a fantastic job and kept us informed of the progress. The staff at the clinic were very understanding and called us to give us daily updates on Jake's condition. They have a very nice hospital with state of the art equipment. I had to go out of town and needed to pick our dog up at 4am. The staff were happy to accommodate my request. When I picked Jake up they gave me excellent discharge information with clearly printed medication information and what type of activities we could do to help rehab out dog. The clinic even called the next day to check on his progress. Jake is walking around and doing great just a few days after surgery. The Oak's did a great job and I would highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner.

DO NOT RECOMMEND DON'T BRING YOUR ANIMAL THERE. Call for appt. She took my name, address, name of dog, and then, she ask for my CREDIT CARD NUMBER to put on file. My dog had not even been seen yet, and you ask for my credit card? (Should have been first clue). Took my puppy in who had been attack by a big dog. He was bleeding from his back paw. They charged us over$400.00 to clean/debride his cut, put a bandage, and wrapped his leg. Doc told us that our puppy had a heart murmur and they should do a ECG. We said, no thank you. Had puppy at other vet 1 month before, and no heart murmur found on examination. They did one follow up appt. Doctor removed bandage and said everything is Ok, No sutures, or nothing. On our way home, paw started bleeding. We have been nursing his paw for 3 weeks now, changing his bandages and nursing it. Yesterday, one nail fell off. Wishing and praying that my poor little puppy to get better. Wish we would have $ to bring him to another vet,but we don't. : (

Plain and simple - the Oaks Vet saved our dog's life (TWICE) when other vets couldn't. Won't take either of our dogs anywhere else now. Thank you so much Dr. Tremble, Dr. Houle and team - great job !!

The staff at The Oaks are wonderful. They'll take the time to get to know you and your animals, explain things in great detail, or give you the Cole's notes version if you prefer. They are welcoming, personable, and will never make you feel rushed or that you are taking up too much time. I really appreciate their transparency, their approach to medicine, and most of all, the level of care that they have for their paw-ients.

They told me my dog had cancer in his rectum and the surgery would cost a lot of money. At the time my dog was only a year old and we were extremely upset because we didn't know how we were going to afford the surgery. We decided to take him to a different vet for another opinion and it turned out to be his anal glands were blocked, which they fixed in one appointment, no surgery needed. I think the Oaks vet is just out for your money!

Our elderly hyperthyroid cat with renal failure was dying on the evening of 2016-05-19. he was panting with tongue sticking out, couldn't move much, stopped drinking and eating. So I called the Oaks Clinic and asked if they did in home euthanasia and was told that they do and received a quote. I also requested for sedation shot to be done before the euthanasia as I read it is better for animal to be sedated so not to experience any distress. I was quoted an add. price and told they will call back to confirm when the staff are on the way. Approx. 1 hour later I was told they are on the way and was asked to pay the bill in full over the phone which I did. When Dr. R.Dykstra arrived, she did not know the name of the cat and did not bother to ask. Instead she started calling him Oliver, who is our other cat. Then she attempted to shave his leg but their machine was not working. After few attempts we gave them ours and they used it successfully. My wife and I had to remind them about the sedation shot. The Dr seemed a bit surprised but did inject something in his thigh. Then she tried to find a vein on his front leg to put a catheter in, but kept missing. Finally it seemed she found it but when she flushed it with saline, the whole shot missed the vein and went under his skin. I am not sure if she noticed it right away because she still attempted to put the lethal medication in but finally realized that catheter was out of the vein so she stopped after a partial injection. She then tried another leg, poking it with huge needles trying to find a vein with no avail. While she poked his front legs Fluffy was still conscious and at one point tried to take his paws away. When that did not work Dr. Dykstra moved to his back leg and said she will inject the lethal shot directly into a back leg vein without a catheter. By then all that started looking as a torture. Dr. Dykstra finally found a vein in his leg (or at least it seemed she found it) and quickly pushed the plunger all the way in. Despite that, Fluffy did not stop breathing, although he now seemed deep asleep. At this point Dr. told us that the only choice she has left is to inject him directly into his heart. My wife asked if Dr has performed such a procedure before and she confidently replied that she did. I asked what is she misses? Exuding confidence, Dr. Dykstra said that she will not miss. We gave her ok to go. She took the needle and jammed him somewhere in the heart area, pulled the plunger up but there was no sign of blood in a syringe, so she pulled the whole thing out and made a second attempt. This one was successful and she injected him with the lethal dose. His heart stop almost immediately and that was that. Dr. Dykstra apologized that it didn't go as planned. Although I am sure Dr. Dykstra meant well it was evident that she lacked experience/skills to perform euthanasia on a smaller size animal. Something that we hoped would be a peaceful experience went horribly wrong. Yes, we had a choice of leaving the room but we glad we didn't. During past two weeks I called Oaks Vet multiple times and left messages that I would like to speak with the owner of the clinic, Dr. Tremble. I wanted to share my experience so he can improve on a quality of service his vets provide. Dr. Tremble never bothered to return my phone calls. My last phone call triggered the office to return our money although that was not what I wanted. I was also told that Dr. Tremble still intends on calling me back and it will happen this week. We waited and he hasn't called. I guess he is truly not interested in improving the level of service and in his opinion the refund is all that's required. So a few tips for anyone considering euthanasia: spend extra for a sedation shot. Stay with your pet for the whole time and at last, chose the right clinic and vet so the very last few minutes that you and your friend spend together are filled with love and peace instead of fear and pain as it happened with us.

They are very understanding and helpful would recommend to anyone!!

The Oaks Veterinary Medical & Emergency Referral Centre gets a 5 stars from me. I was at the Oaks Veterinary Clinic twice and was very impressed with them. The first time was the fall of 2014. I woke up in the middle of the night and my older Aussie (13 years old) was trashing around and seemed disoriented. I thought that she had had a stroke. In the morning which happened to be a Saturday I phoned my regular vet clinic but was told that they were fully booked and couldn't see her until Monday. With the situation that she was in I certainly didn't want to wait so I phoned the Oaks Vet Clinic and a few minutes later I was on my way. When I got there the Doctor told me that it was either a stroke or vestibular disease. After doing some test including a blood test, he told me that it was Old Dog Vestibular Disease and that it would go away within a few days or a few weeks. He was right. By the next morning I could already see some progress. I appreciated also that someone from the clinic phoned to check on her. She's still here today and doing great. After reading on a reputable veterinary website I thought that it was a lucky break that my regular vet couldn't see her because she might have erroneously been diagnosed as having had a stroke and I would have chosen to have her euthanized. My second visit was with my other Aussie who was 7 years old. I had taken her to her regular vet because she had lost her appetite. They kept her overnight and did a blood test and two X Rays on her stomach (the second after having given her barium) but didn’t see anything. I picked her up the following afternoon with some medication for nausea, diarrhea, de-wormer and some gastro food. It cost me $700 and they didn’t have a diagnosis. I had asked if she had eaten that morning and they said no but sent me home with food anyway. Two days later, she was not doing very well so I phoned the Oaks Vet Clinic for an appointment. The Doctor decided to do an ultrasound and saw some spots on her liver. After discussing the situation we decided to do a biopsy. Unfortunately when the doctor opened her up for the procedure she saw what the problem was. My girl was full of cancer. She was euthanized. The Oaks Veterinary Clinic will always have my business for as long as I have pets.

Two friends of mine went to The Oaks to have their dogs' torn ACLs repaired. The first dog had the wrong size plate put in, which caused her leg to heal improperly. And while they did do another surgery to remove the plate, they actually charged my friend for the second surgery! It was clearly their error, but my friend still had to pay for it. As for the second dog, she was taken out of her kennel by one of The Oaks staff after her ACL surgery. Her hind end was not supported properly and she slipped on the floor, tearing her other ACL (her human was there and witnessed her dog's fall). Once again, while the dog's new injury was caused by The Oaks staff, my friend had to pay for their error. Any reputable clinic would have taken responsibility for these mistakes (and mistakes do happen; I get that, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1) and absorbed the cost of these two surgeries. Inexcusably poor customer service.

My boxer bull mastiff mix, Spencer, was having a couple of issues. Inconsistent stool, sore leg, heavy panting. When I walked into Oaks Vet this morning with him I was truly fearing the worse. I thought old age might have gotten him. Dr. Tremble came into the room and explained thoroughly what they would be doing to examine Spencer. He explained how he would be examining Spencer and explained the blood test he was going to run. The results of the blood tests were fully explained. I can't thank Dr. Tremble enough for his professionalism and dedication to our pets. My wife and I were quite upset when we went in this morning and he took the time to put us at ease.
