The review I give is for the service, not the prices. Less than a week ago we took our 12 year old black lab, Sascha, in because of increasing fatique, resting heart rate and respirations. She did not show any signs of pain. We wanted to make sure that it was just old age not something we could medicate her with if possible. Blood work showed low hgb and rbc's. Bleeding somewhere? US of abd was clear. US of chest was 8 x 10 cm tumor encroaching on her heart and lungs. Dx possible less than 1 week to live with fear of much suffering when she did pass. From the time we entered the hospital for Sascha's assessment everyone was astounding with their kindness and respect. We took her home that day and smothered her with kindness and also giving family and friends who knew her a chance to say their goodbyes. Four days later, we brought her back for her journey to Heaven sleep. Again everyone we saw, spoke to, touched her did so with kindness and respect. I have not mentioned any names in fear that I may miss one. But Sascha, Trooper, my husband and I will remember you for your professionalism. Thank you.

My cat needed to be seen sooner rather than later and the Maritime Animal Hospital was able to accommodate me that day, even though I wasn’t an existing client. I brought my leopard gecko for a burn on his face. After contacting all the local clinics (even Riverview emergency vet) and no one had a vet that would see reptiles! I was able to get an appointment fast(next day) and Dr. Machum gave me medicine and ointment and my boy has made a full recovery! Suprisingly fast(2 weeks). I didn't think the price was that bad either! Would definetly recommend!

2016 Techs were nice. Vet's manner was cold and rude. Found a new vet. Heard she has since retired. Good thing. Told us white cats had more health issues, when we had JUST got our kitten. How kind. Was very condescending when we asked about something to help with my allergies, had seen online. Not a good idea, but no need to treat us like we had 3 heads. 2021 He's 5 now, with zero issues, very healthy. And our vet is awesome.

On Saturday June 26/21 we made an emergency stop at this clinic. It was after 12 and they were closing for the day but they graciously unlocked their doors to us because we were panicking over our panicking dog. We were travelling from Ontario to our place of residence in Nova Scotia. There are many good and thankful reviews here and a few not so stellar. Sadly, this is not a good or happy one.I will not mention any names because these people will know who I am speaking of when this review is posted. Our English Bulldog Rubble, had an anxiety issue that seemed to get the better of him on our second day of travel. I googled local veterinarians and the Maritime Animal Hospital seemed the closest. As I mentioned, they opened their doors to us even though they were closing. They even let us bring in the rest of our menagerie so they didn’t have to wait out in the car. Rubble was immediately taken into the “back” where owners are not allowed. The vet came back to tell me he was very blue and they had put him on oxygen and were trying to give him fluids and something to relax him. We spoke about what medications he was on and what had happened and then we were informed that the Riverview Animal Hospital also in Moncton, was probably a better facility for this situation as they are better equipped with an “oxygen room” rather than the mask they had on Rubble. This apparently wasn’t doing much because of the level of anxiety he was at and that they couldn’t get an i.v. into his tiny veins. Because of the expense of travelling we naturally asked about cost. The Vet suggested that we look into pet insurance which she just happened to have an application for. Regardless, she said she would call the other clinic for a quote for us. Upon returning with the quote and said we likely would not be travelling on that day and that the other clinic was 11 minutes away. More than once she mentioned the other clinic was 11minutes away and she was sorry she couldn’t do any more. At this point we had no idea how he was bc he was still in the back. I tried a few attempts at humour with the tech that was adding up our charges. She continue to ring us up with a look of contempt for keeping her at work longer than was her shift. We loaded everyone back into our vehicle to drive to the other clinic, at that point the Vet and the tech rushed Rubble into the passenger side with a wet towel on him and packed him with ice. He died on my 11minute journey to the other clinic and no one was there to meet us. I carried my now dead baby through two sets of doors crying and yelling for help. It’s not about the money, it’s not about whatever kickback they would have earned for selling us insurance. My baby is dead and I had the misfortune of watching the light leave his beautiful little face. It’s the feeing that in the end they just didn’t care, they just wanted to go home. Now we are left to live with the guilt and sadness of our lost family member. Shame on both of you.

My existing vet wasn't able to provide an appointment for our senior dog who was having problems. We ended up using this clinic throughout a very difficult month. All the staff from Dr Machun & Dr Vessey, to the vet techs, to the receptionists -- they were all fabulous. We explored different medications had many discussions. After wonder care & service that reached beyond the normal, we made the difficult decision to let our dog go. My wife and I will be bringing our younger dog here from now on. We're glad we found this clinic when we did & the wonderful interactions will have us calling this our home clinic from now on. Thank you Maritime Animal Hospital!

I went to this vet when mine couldn’t get me in for minimum of two weeks! Ms Gaunce along with the entire team were incredible! Listened intently to what we said was going on with our dog and was able to diagnose him quickly and provide almost immediate relief. Nothing additional that wasn’t needed and followed up Monday after a Saturday appointment. He was given some pain meds and antibiotics and is already on the mend. Will definitely be returning to this clinic going forward.

Brought my cat in for dental work. They do blood work and xrays to make sure they can use Anesthetic safely...so they say. After everything was done. My cat super awake and eating like she never ate before. She then begin to feel sick. Brought her back to the hospital and they offered a "free" xray and found out that she has issues with her liver. Something they should've picked up the first place. Before the dental work was done. A week later i had to put her to sleep because she lost atleast 80% of her weight. And yes, i still paid $1000 for the dental work which i regret and imo i shouldn't have to when they're suppose to make sure her health is good before proceeding with the dental work. This happened a few years ago....never been back to that place again.
