Just a note for future potential clients. First few visits when I got my new kitty were normal. A year later during COVID, my cat was puking multiple times in one day so I called in to see if I could take her in to be checked for a stomach bug or even speak to the Doc over the phone. The receptionist said they didn't have space to bring my kitty in but that she would speak to the Doc and give me a call back to help with the situation. I asked if I should call back again but was assured that I would receive a call back the same day. However, I never got a call back at all which felt very unprofessional and as a client I felt like my kitty's health was not taken seriously. They also failed at making any note of this puking incident on her file. A month later I'm being spammed for her annual health exam - which hints to me that they just want the money and not actually care for my pet when she needs the medical attention. I brought up this concern with them and was apologized to which is appreciated, but what is the point of having a vet when they fail to be there at times when your pet's health needs attention?

I truly feel that they have the concern of the pet in mind. Matt is wonderful - calm and knowledgeable. He provided suggestions to avoid costly alternatives that a previous vet had been insisting on for our dog and in the end he was right. Not quick to jump to a procedure or meds.

Dr. Paul Walker is perhaps the best vet I've ever been to. He has looked after my pets for a few years now, and has even done two surgeries for them, all with fantastic results. He's extremely knowledgeable and patient with clients. He takes the time to explain things and does so in a kind manner. Although Dr. Paul Walker has primarily looked after my animals Dr. Matt Walker has seen to them on occasion also and he is just like his father with the level of care and expertise he demonstrates.

Let me start by saying that the care for my pet was great and Dr. Walker called me every time I had a question. Great vets, no doubt. The only negative comment I have, is the lack of communication on final prices. I was given a $700 quote to remove my cat's upper canine, ended up paying double the amount, which was shocking. I asked on the final prices a few times and was never given a definite answer. Other than that, the doctor was awesome. Update: I took my cat in again today, and doctor Paul was simply fantastic. I wasn't persuaded to do unnecessary tests, he was straightforward, compassionate, thorough and very knowledgeable. The price for the consultation was reasonable and my cat was taken in very fast. His staff was also a pleasure to deal with. Thank you MAH Further to my last review I would like to say a huge thank you to Dr. Paul for diagnosing my cat correctly and recommending to switch her food: 9 years of struggling with vomiting and diarrhea and countless doctors, and to think that it took the right type of food, no medication needed. I cannot express my gratitude for the complete changes in my cat!

Took 3 dogs to Dr. J. Paul Walker over a 20 year time period. Dr. Walker and Staff were very Professional for the most part. Dr. Walker even made a house call at one point. Not many Doctors will make house calls these days. Very impressed with MAH up to to February of 2016. I had one dog left at this point. The two other guys had to be put down on two consecutive days... Very Sad... My last Boosom Buddy and Life Long Pal was getting old and wearing out... She was deaf, blind and just wanted to sleep all the time. I knew the end was near... I made an appointment to have my girl put down. Upon arrival at MAH, we sat in the outter waiting area for 10 minutes. We were then asked to wait in the examining room. We waited 'half an hour' for Doc Walker to come and give Jae the injection. That was the Worst half hour of my life... knowing that I was going to put the Love-Of-My-Life down. BRUTAL!!! They 'knew' we were coming, but were made to wait an Excruciating half hour until Doc Walker came in with the injection. NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE...

Dr Paul is beyond amazing. Whenever he speaks to me, I feel like everything is going to be ok. Period. He's even called me back as late as 8pm because he'd been busy till then, yet handled my case before going home! He is thorough, genuinely caring towards both the pets and their owners, and not commercially - focussed. The staff are smiling and friendly, and quite cooperative. My only pet peeve with the clinic is the long wait times for appointments, and yet I STILL prefer Mississauga Animal Hospital because, having tried two other clinics, I have definitely decided that this one is by far the best in Mississauga and Oakville.

They are stellar individuals with a fantastic clinic, an absolute cut above the rest! Without a doubt the best veterinary clinic in all of Ontario! I've been a client of Dr. Matt's since 2014 when my oldest dog Gus was a puppy. We've since moved hours away from his practice but still make the drive just to stay in his care. Not only is he kind and calm with both of my dogs but he's incredibly patient with my husband and I, as well. We never feel rushed or pressured while in his office and truly leave feeling informed and well taken care of every time. During COVID I would typically feel stressed about leaving my dogs alone to be examined on their own as they're both naturally quite anxious. Knowing that the Mississauga Animal Hospital team is there with them makes it so much easier to handle! My appointment today was an absolute breeze. I'd strongly recommend Dr. Matt to absolutely anyone I know. He can consider us clients for life!

Outstanding in every way!! My fur babies (cat and dog) have been clients of both Dr. Walker's (father and son) for about 5 years now. When we first moved to Mississauga, we took them to a couple of other vets but no luck, we didn't feel 100% comfortable. Whereas, from the first time we went for a visit to the Mississauga Animal Hospital, we fell in love with the care and attention that the staff gave to our fur babies. The doctors are amazing; professional and very knowledgeable. They will answer all of your questions regarding your pet. The staff girls are really nice and caring too; it's always great to visit a place where they treat you and your pets like family. They were also incredible when Koshka (my kitty) got very sick and later on passed away since she had a terminal illness. They helped me with the cremation arrangements and definitely with the emotional healing process. Katya (my dog), is still a patient, I took her there a couple of days ago for her vaccines and regular check-up, and once again, we left as happy clients. I recommend this place to any pet parents who only put their babies in the hands of legit professionals!!

Good doctors and staff and they don't push pointless tests on you to drive up the cost. but the policy as of writing this is that only one person can be in the waiting room at a time. I think if all customers are double vax'ed and from the same household then more than one should be allowed in. In my case I decided to wait in the car while my wife went in for the appointment.

My girlfriend and I recently brought our cat Gizmo to the Mississauga Animal Hospital, since it was located near by. Upon arrival we were almost immediately seen by Dr. Matt Walker who explained that there could be a few possibilities as to what was wrong with Gizmo. We decided to do blood work and x-rays which were done immediately. We quickly found out that Gizmo had swallowed a clothing strap and Dr. Walker recommended surgery as the best course of action. He explained everything to us in great detail and assured us Gizmo would be in good hands. We brought Gizmo in the next morning for his surgery which was then performed with no complications. Towards the evening Gizmo was still very groggy from the sedation and Dr. Walker suggested he keep him over night to personally make sure he was ok. The next day we brought Gizmo home but he was not eating or drinking and we were very concerned. We spoke to Dr. Walker and he again volunteered to look after him that night. The next day he had begun to eat and we brought him home where he has been recovering well. Throughout this whole ordeal Dr. Walker has been incredibly helpful and reassuring. From calling us with updates while Gizmo was in his care, to continuing to keep in contact with us after we had brought him home. His level of compassion is extraordinary. We could not have asked for a better level of care. The entire staff at The Mississauga Animal Hospital was extremely friendly and helpful. We could not recommend this practice enough, they understand that your pets are like your children and take care of them as such. I been there from the year that I got my pet and everything goes good but three months ago I called them to consult new food as my dog turn one year and they told me they will call me and the call came a month later and today I call for emergency as my dog threw up roundworms and they told me the Doctor will call me but I don't wait and bring my dog to other clinic but the thing if I go to the place is not just for the vaccinations or regular visits. I chose that place for emergencies and regular visits and how is it possible that they are full booked and don't give any solution if I'm still waiting my dog could be worse

Nothing but great things to say about this animal hospital. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. My puppy, Duke, was seen by Paul Walker, one of the owners. It is a family-run business with a father-son duo and I can honestly tell that they care about their patients. Paul was friendly and very understanding even though my dog was a little bit anxious in the beginning. He never treated him like with anger or aggression. He treated him like he was own and as someone who treats their puppy as their own flesh and blood - this was very comforting. He listened to what i had to say and talked me through the whole process. I cannot say enough great things about this hospital. I would definitely recommend your services to anybody! My only downfall is that i didn't come sooner. Thank you Paul! Keep up the great work! You have definitely gained a client with Duke and I. :)

After a recent health scare with my dog I was thoroughly impressed with the Doctors and staff here. I was able to get a vet on the phone even though my dog was not an existing patient at the time. When I brought her in the staff were Very acomodating (my dog is dog aggressive). Dr. Paul Walker was great, very thorough and kind, at a reasonable price. I highly recomend this clinic.

I have heard nothing but great things about this vet clinic so when my Vet retired, I chose to come here. I had all my files sent over. When I called for an appointment because my dog needed to get her anal glands done, I was told it would be 2 weeks before I could see the doctor,. For me when it’s about anal glands being expressed, it’s not a 2 week wait, that’s an appointment that needs to be within 48 hours. The Receptionist was the most unsympathetic, person I’ve ever dealt with in this industry, I was completely in shock at how this was dealt with considering how many great things I’ve heard..I’m really disappointed

Dr. Walker Jr and Dr. Walker Sr are wonderful veterinarians. They're very empathetic and kind and take excellent care of the animals. They will remember your pets and their personalities long after they've seen them. They saw our two cats for many, many years. Last week we had to put down one of our cats and Dr. Walker Jr spoke with us on the phone beforehand to reassure us and Dr. Walker Sr was so kind and loving towards us and our pet throughout the procedure. We moved cities twice and we continue to see Drs. Walker even though now it means we have to drive for one hour in good traffic. You can't find a better vet.

After a poor kitten fell from a balcony in my building (and the POS owner did nothing) this hospital was the only place willing to help over the holidays. Sadly this kitty passed on route there. ???? Without an appointment, they took us in with this tragedy & even split the cost of the "funeral" arrangements with me (the owner didn't even thank me.) The staff & doctor here are incredibly good people totally willing to help in this emergency. At least this cat had the kindness of complete strangers at the end if her life. I can not recommend this hospital enough! Amazing, amazing staff!!

After hearing great reviews about Dr. Matt Walker, I recently had the pleasure of taking my dog Chili in for a second opinion on her long term stomach issues. She had been dealing with reoccurring pancreatitis for over a year and was in severe pain that we couldn't seem to get rid of which had now made her turn away from every food imaginable. Immediately upon our arrival, Dr. Matt took every step he could to ensure that she had the best care possible. He was able to prescribe an anti-inflammatory that almost instantly had her feeling more playful and energetic than we had seen her in months, and started her on a new diet that she doesn't hesitate to eat! Despite finally having a solution to Chili's problem that has been on our minds for so long, the most incredible part of our experience was Dr. Matt's clear enthusiasm and compassion. He ensured to follow up with us personally to make sure that she was feeling better, gave us clear next steps, explained everything in detail, and approached his job in a way that makes it clear how much he genuinely cares for his patients well-being. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Matt Walker to anyone and everyone, and am so thankful to now have a vet who I can trust fully with Chili's care.

We are so happy with the treatment we have received from Dr. Matt Walker and everyone at Mississauga Animal Hospital. Our little puppy had an adverse reaction to some antibiotics and Dr. Walker was amazing! He let her stay at his clinic during the day so that we wouldn't be forced to put our sick puppy in daycare (since we both had work) and he even made a home visit the same night when she wasn't getting better. He never made us feel like we were an inconvenience and was genuinely concerned for our puppy.'s well being. I've been taking my dogs to see Dr. Matthew for about a year and he has been so incredible to my family and I! He was able to come up with a treatment plan for our 12 year old Australian Shepherd's chronic pancreatitis that has her more full of pep and happier than she has been in years! He is also so great with providing explanations about medical terminology that is so easy to understand and it is such a great change to other vets who just hand out a pamphlet instead of taking a few minutes to explain it themselves! I cannot recommend him and his practice enough for such a warm and welcoming atmosphere!

I called to make an appointment to get 2 feral kittens checked out and the lady in the phone was so helpful after calling vet after vet and being told they’re not accepting new clients or the earliest appointment they had was in mid September this place right away set me up as a client and got me an appointment for July 8th. I had to cancel the appointment as my family vet called me back saying they could fit me in earlier then that. But this place was very friendly and helpful so I just wanted to share how thankful I am even if I had to cancel the appointment. (My boyfriend called to cancel and I don’t know if he was nice or not so another reason I wanted to say thank you)

I arrived to learn that he was fully obstructed, they treated him immediately. I brought my cat here a earlier this year and one of the staff was incredibly rude to me. My cat is old and there was something wrong with him. The staff member assumed that I wanted him put down. I was in a bad state and did not know my pet's condition or the reason for it. Even though my cat was taken care of and the cost was reasonable (because of his age/condition I assume), I was treated with the same disrespect by both Dr.'s. They wanted to take my cat away from me because they blamed me for his condition. I haven't ever experienced this before. I was very upset already and they just added to it. I did come back and the staff was nice (different person) but I did not hear one peep from either Dr. about my cat's condition. I'm really not sure if I will be returning here because I am the owner and I should have been treated with the same respect all other pet owners get when they come here. I would suggest calling vet clinics and finding out how they feel about old pets before bringing them here. It has been months since I've been here and I still can't get over how badly I was treated. My cat was fine but continues to have symptoms and I did not cause them! If I received a follow up call like all other owners I might have felt better about them. I just thought they were weird and because of this, I will be looking for another vet clinic, unless there is an emergency but only because they are very close to my home.

Hands down this is the very best vet in TO. We have used others but when we bought our shar-pei the breeder recommended this place. My 14 year old cat was losing weight and having trouble keeping his food down. We really needed to take him to the vet, but we have issues trusting vets and find most vets are extremely expensive. We took him to see Dr. Walker and right from the beginning there staff is extremely friendly, and approachable. There was a little bit of a wait, as to be expected at any vets office. But they took their time with my cat, and made sure he was comfortable. Normally my cat hates the vet, but his visit wit Dr. Walker was excellent. My first time at this vets and the owner, Mr. Walker is FANTASTIC! However, this clinic is so busy you can't see a vet for at least a week or longer. These vets are wonderful. They are caring, compassionate and honest. They explain everything & they tell me what's best for my pet, not necessarily for me. They also went above & beyond. When my pet needed medication but they wouldn't have it until the next day when the clinic was closed, Dr. Paul extra came in his day off so we could come pick it up. Dr. Matt was wonderful with our oldest cat as well. They even called us at home to see how our pet was recuperating.

We were very happy with our former vet (Beattie pet hospital in Burlington), but had an emergency and went to Mississauga Animal Hospital as it was much closer and came highly recommended from a few of our friends. Dr Walker (senior- they're a father-son team, we've only dealt with the father so far) is very compassionate, both for the animals and the pet parents. Our little pekingese just came from eye surgery, and I can tell by his demeanor that he was made very comfortable during his overnight stay at the clinic. I highly recommend this vet clinic. Dr. Paul Walker has been our vet for decades. He is compassionate, extremely caring, friendly and very knowledgeable. Dr. Walker has taken care of all our dogs through the years and l can honestly say that l have never been disappointed or concerned about the care they received. It’s always been top notch.

I have been taking my pet to Dr. Walker for years. I would never take my animals anywhere else. Even though I no longer live in the same city as the clinic, but will make the drive to see Dr. Walker. Both Dr. Paul and Dr. Matt (his son) are very caring individuals who I trust completely. In fact, when my 19 year old cat recently passed away at an emergency clinic, Dr. Walker called me the next day, just to see how I was holding up and to offer his condolences. I have never found that they were all about the money. While they always give the options of any tests or procedures available, they are always very clear about what they recommend and what they do not - I have never seen them recommend a test that was not really necessary. Over the years, I have lost count of all the extras or small procedures they have done for free. I would definitely recommend both Dr. Walkers!

If I could double the stars I would lend you a hand in anyway with your pets share tears with you when your animals are sick and at the time of there passing they give you the time and respect to be with your best friend im lost for words for words to describe mr Paul Walker and his team plus his son committed to the trade like his father 30 years and still bringing more pets to him we live in Mount forest its a 2 hr drive to get to him but worth every moment ????

Dr. Paul and Dr. Matthew are hands down the best vets I've ever had. Both are very caring with my pets and don't subscribe to over-treating or running a bunch of unnecessary tests just for the heck of it. That being said, their treatments are very effective. So glad I have them for my furry friends.

Dr. Walker was our vet a few years back and he was great. We were very happy with him until he made a very bad judgement call and almost blinded my dog. He performed a laser surgery on the eye which ended up giving my dog a corneal ulcer. He tried to operate on that but things got worse. Only then he revealed his knowledge of this specialist and suggested a referral. If you knew about this specialist, why were you not upfront about this prior to two operations you performed and made everything worse? I was hugely disappointed; the more the trust the worse the disappointment! This bad call ended up costing me over $4000 in operation to save his eye and medications afterwards; not to mention the horrible year and a half that me and my family had to endure. My dog had to live in a cone, he became depressed, overly anxious, fearful. We had to pay twice a week visits to the specialist that was 40 km away for a year. We had to go early before work, during rush hour, to line up at the door as it operated as a walk-in clinic, so we could be seen early and could get back to work in time. It was an absolute nightmare – for all of us! Thank goodness, the specialist was amazing, and comforted us during those hard times. Too bad he does not operate as a regular vet. I am still very upset about the ordeal Dr. Walker has caused us, and therefore it would only be fair and decent to share this review with others to make them be aware prior to going into his clinic.
