Brought my sisters Guinea pig there and Daisy was taken care of :) The doctor was so nice and helpful, I really liked this doctor as she gave affordable treatments first and then stated if anything felt like it wasn’t getting better then we would proceed with costlier medication. I really do appreciate this as I feel a lot of times doctors push more expensive treatments or procedures and then make you feel bad if you were to hesitate. She also informed me of how to take care of Guinea pigs so free advice from a doctor is always appreciated. The real treat was Ouija (one of the black cats that roams around), I love her, she is sooo cute and makes the experience so fun. She didn’t want to get off me and I didn’t want to leave her either ???? but I know she is taken care of there and loved. Such a spoiled kitty. Will be back again for sure, I wish they maybe closed a little late as I would trust them for an emergency with my pets.

This totally waste my money. My dog has skin problem, so they only give some pulls for me and refuse take shot for my dog because they said pull and shot cannot take together. So those pills cost me $160. I change to another animal hospital, they told me I can do shot and pills together. Therefore, I won’t come again.

**EDIT: This is extremely hard to post, but I figured I would update my review to notate that we did in fact loose our precious Ellie to her cancer on February 14, 2020. This has undoubtably been the hardest thing myself and my husband have been through, but are incredibly grateful to the kind individuals at Burnhamthrope Animal Hospital for giving us the extra time with her. ------- To say I am incredibly thankful to the staff at Burnhamthorpe would be an understatement. In April, one of our dogs (my "heart" dog) was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on her front leg; an aggressive bone cancer for dogs. We struggled immensely with the decision to amputate her leg or not. We were lucky enough to have been referred here by Niagara Dog Rescue (thank you so much to them as well), to speak with the team regarding the next steps with Ellie. We went in for a consultation, and the staff was amazing, they dealt with my emotions and handled Ellie with extreme care and spoke with us about the procedure and what they would do if they were in our shoes. We decided to proceed, we had complete confidence that this would be the best decision to ensure Ellie lived her best life! The surgery happened two weeks after that consultation, and the surgery went great. The staff was so kind and considerate sending text message updates with photos! She came home that same night, and it was extremely rough... but we were determined to get Ellie through her toughest days - and the staff checked over the weekend to make sure she was doing alright! We had many ups and downs regarding Ellie's healing, and some days, yes, I cried all day second guessing what we did, and if I was selfish for putting her through this. HOWEVER, now that we are four (4) months down the road, and Ellie is absolutely thriving I am SO happy we did it. When I think back at how much Burnhamthorpe helped us with this huge decision, it makes me extremely emotional, and thank you just doesn't seem like enough! Thank you, SO much to your team, we are forever grateful! <3

One of few veterinary clinics that would spay my rabbit. The receptionist was nice to find for me opening for early next morning appointment. Other veterinary clinics had longer wait times. The surgery went well and the bunny is recuperating at home now. The stuff was very nice to deal with, veterinarian took time to explain to me risks of the procedure and they also explained to me what to look for after the procedure and how to administrate pain killer. I definitely recommend this veterinary clinic to all pet owners.

My little one was sick and they raised all my concerns and even followed up via text to see how she is doing! I read about some places that just do their job but thats it.. (No love or care) but this team has been great and sometimes I panick and they assure me over the phone with full explanations. +5! When I was about to pick up my first puppy ever the lady on the phone took 30 minutes to explain all the pricing and details of what I need (Shots, spayed etc) gave me dates and even recommended me an amazing trainer! Burnhamthorpe goes above and beyond !

Can't say enough about the great service at Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital! They have provided absolutely wonderful care for our young golden retriever. Everyone we've deal with-- especially Dr. Toner, Dr. Agius and Josie--have been caring and thorough. They've even followed up with us by text a couple days after our visits to make sure our puppy is recovering well. We know we're in good hands when we go there and we couldn't ask for more!

The staff at Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital are exceptional. My family has been looking for a new vet for our puppy for a while, and we are so happy that we found this hospital. My 10 month old puppy accidentally ingested a sock 5 days ago, and my previous vet told me we could not induce vomiting even 2 hours after the incident. When we visited Dr.Toner at Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital, she was so kind, compassionate, and transparent throughout the whole process. She did not rush to surgery, and quoted us before we moved forward with anything. Pricing is very reasonable. She was able to induce vomiting and get the sock out! Needless to say, we will be coming to Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital for all of our dog's future appointments as they truly care about you and your pets. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone!

We had an emergency and our vet couldn't take us, so I called BAH and they gave us an appointment right away! We were so impressed with the staff and the level of care we received that we ended up switching permanently. We just had our follow up appointment today, and our experience was just as excellent. I'm so happy we found this place! On another good note, this vet is slightly less expensive than our old vet, which obviously isn't the main thing I look for (i had no idea until i was looking over the invoice after), but it is nice.

The only con is the hospital is usually busy, you'll need to book schedule ahead and less likely to get emergency treatment

They may be good to your dog, but to you as a person they're awful. My puppy is only 7 months and there have already been two incidents where the service they offered was horrendous. First they told me he would be due for a 2nd set of vaccines in June and they send me an automated e-mail in May that I'm overdue for important vaccinations. An AUTOMATED email, they didn't even have the decency to call and explain that they messed up the dates and I was due earlier than June. Now jump ahead to this morning. I made an appointment for neutering and explained I work 8-4 and asked if I could drop him off before 8 even though they don't open until 8. I would have been perfectly fine with them saying "sorry, nobody will be here, can we try a different day?" but instead I got "Sure no problem we'll make sure someone is here!" I show up dog in hand, ready for work... nobody's there. No one answers the phone, nobody answers the door. I was told someone would be there. Now I'm writing this from work, where I arrived late, and the best I get is a phone call at 8:15 apologizing for miscommunication between the staff. I said forget it, I'll find a vet who actually does what they say and says what they do.

I took my rabbit here as she was not eating.. The vet and staff were very accommodating and concerned about the matter. My rabbit was prescribed with two oral medications and the vet was kind enough to show me how to administer them. The vet also went as far as following up with me a few days later to see how my rabbit was doing... Overall I was very pleased with this veternary clinic!

I've been taking my pets to Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital for almost 20 years now and there's a good reason. The staff and service is amazing, the atmosphere is friendly, and most importantly the medicine and quality of care is top notch. This is an AAHA Accredited facility, so you can be assured you're getting the very best care available at the highest standards. Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital has kept all of my pets happy and healthy over the years and even as they grew older, made sure they were always as comfortable as possible. The doctors here are caring and compassionate - you couldn't ask for anything more in an Animal Hospital.

Today, we had to make a very difficult decision. Our 16 year old cat, Peanuthead, was very sick. The vet technician assured us that we were making the right decision as she read the reports, and testing analysis. When we were brought into the room, the lights were dim, a blanket on the table, and a care basket was on a side table for non-animals (water bottles, Kleenex). The associates at this place are very nice, and personable. I will highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you.

The vet I had did a really good job explaining what needs to be done and what we can get by without, at a time when I was shocked by my puppy's first illness, a real scare. I walked out paying more than I felt I should have, this place is costly. But they do compare favourably for times where you don't know what to do for your best friend.

I recently had a horrible experience at an emergency vet clinic out on the other end of the city. They told my brother that I had two choices for my cat. Either pay over a grand for a temporary fix or that I would have to put her down. I opted for the quick treatment and left to get a second opinion. I am fairly new to Mississauga and knew my co-worker has being going to this clinic for a very, very long time and she swears by every one of the staff here. I know that she expects the same passion and treatment of her dogs that I do for my pets so I brought my cat in. I have to say they were amazing, they helped my cat out and confirmed that I made the right choice. **Please note that for the comments from Julia and Adrian should be stated that THEY ARE A COUPLE!!! They should not have given two negative reviews for one misunderstanding....

I took my rabbit of 11 years today to Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital to be put asleep from sickness and old age. I could not have asked for a better hospital and Vet to do this process. From the moment i called they were inviting and understanding, up to the procedure where they talked in the most compassionate and gentle approach about the process. They gave me all the time I needed to say goodbye to my rabbit and I felt happy afterwards he was in a better place. Thank you to the Vet for making it a caring experience. Fantastic! The team at Burnhamthorpe Animal hospital were an absolute pleasure. I have a senior wiener dog that hates vets. We've been to many different ones over the years often he would just end up being muzzled. Not here though! Dr.Mcphee took the time to let my dog get used to her(some treat bribes were involved) but he warmed right up to her and cooperated with the exam. It was clear to me durning my time there that they genuinely care about the animals and they aren't just there to make a quick buck. The receptionists we dealt with Josie and Karnaa were great also. Very friendly and welcoming. My first visit there I had my 2 year old toddler in tow Josie gave him colouring sheets and crayons to help keep him occupied. A++ highly recommended

Buster our dog broke a dew nail. Call the BAH at 2pm, they accepted up right away, got there 220pm. We walked right in and saw Dr. Alison and Buster completed surgery at 305pm. Nail removed and happy parents. Great care and service. Thank you to everyone that service us today.

Great rabbit care - When we lost our senior rabbit last year, a friend gave us a female bunny, who should be spayed. The first vet clinic charged for an exam but could not answer questions about the procedure, so I looked elsewhere. A friend recommended Dr. Kristin Agius and Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital in Mississauga. The staff is friendly and they answered all my questions in detail, even before I committed to spending money. They understand that pets are members of the family. Dr. Agius performed the spay, which went well. The fee was reasonable. We adopted a male rabbit from a local Humane Society. After a few months, I noticed wet fur on the cheek - drooling. This had happened to our senior rabbit and I knew it may be a dental problem. Luckily we were able to see Dr. Agius quickly. Rabbit was sedated, head X-rayed and teeth (which grow continuously for rabbits) shaved down. The fee was reasonable. We went home with pain and other preventative medication. Rabbit began eating the next day and is doing well. We are very happy with the care provided by Dr. Agius and staff. I recommended her to a friend, whose rabbit required surgery. My friend is happy with the care provided. I did see some negative reviews for this animal hospital and people should remember that pets are delicate creatures, and require health care and regular check ups. Anyone who wants a pet should budget for vet services.

I'm honestly incredibly happy I found this animal hospital; Being a first time pet owner and especially one being considered an exotic animal (rabbit), I was very worried about which animal clinic I should take Oreo to. There aren't very many vets that are specialized in rabbit care, until I stumbled across Burnhamthrope Animal Hospital. I gave them a call, asking for a quote and when to book a date for Oreo's first visit a few months back. I've been there a few times and I was completely satisfied with each visit. Although Covid protocols are still in affect and you would have to speak to them mostly through phone, the staff there are amazing and so understanding. They are very educated, organized and detailed to the very last bit! Did I forget to mention how affordable they are? Oreo went for his neutering surgery yesterday and I was honestly so worried of how things might have turned out. I was able to take him home the same day and although I was doing errands earlier in the day, the staff had called me to let me know how Oreo's surgery went. That gave me such relief. Overall, if anyone has a rabbit, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND bringing them here because they are absolutely in such good hands.

If you’re looking for quality veterinary service at very reasonable prices, this is the right place! My bunny Clyde recently got neutered here, and the services we got at this clinic were truly the best I’ve seen so far in the area. Not only were both the doctor and technician very knowledgeable about bunnies and the operation, but they were willing to answer all of our questions in a thorough and friendly manner. Not to mention that we texted the clinic throughout our bunny’s recovery for any questions we had and ALWAYS got a fast and helpful response. All in all, it’s a no brainer to bring your pet here, this clinic treats their patients as their own pets and you can truly see how caring and qualified the staff members are!

Rabbit savvy vet! Before deciding on taking my bunny to BAH, I did a lot of research to find the right vet. I am extremely happy with BAH. Friendly staff who are passionate about animal care. Over the past few months, I have taken my pig for an annual examination, an emergency vet visit, and for neutering. I am a volunteer with Niagara Dog Rescue and we had a dog in need of a surgery, we were quoted 2500$+ from other vet clinics and told that he would have to wait months, he was in pain and we did not want to do this.. Burnhamthorpe not only got him in on the exact day we wanted him but also gave an immense discount to our rescue, which allowed us to save many other dogs. On top of this they took great care of him and have been great with follow up even though it gets a little complicated in Rescue with fosters and multiple volunteers. We so appreciate all of the help we have gotten and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new vet in the area, they really care about your animal and it is clear that the animal is the priority for them.

I called in advance to verify my dogs food was in stock and available. I said i would be there in a few minutes. The store then gave away the last bag to someone else. Offered to sell me half the size bag for 2/3 the price of the big bag. Poor service all while I'm standing outside in the cold with my dog. Horrible service.

Our family has been taking our pets to Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital for over 15 years. We have never had anything but a positive experience. Everyone in the clinic treats our pets like they are their own. They are highly compassionate professionals who have never let us down. Burmanthorpe animal hospital is a top tier veterinary office. I cant imagine a more professional, welcoming vet that delivers such quality care to our beloved pets. They are on the pricier side, which is why we will be unfortunately going elsewhere. But if money was no object, I would 100% be bringing our fur baby here. And they are not that unreasonably priced. But with our current financial situation, 20-40% difference on price goes a long way. When we are better financially situated we will be returning.

This is the animal hospital everyone wants to belong to! My poor dog has had tumours, blood transfusions, and a choking incident and they have completely given outstanding care. Their ongoing testing and monitoring of meds had prolonged the life of our fur baby. The staff is courteous and caring and very professional! Highly recommend!

My experience with the staff and service for my pets at BAH has been nothing short of remarkable over the past 3 years of my pets being under the BAH team's care. They are team of professional, accommodating and field-experienced staff who have never come up short on treating my pets as though they are a member of their own families. Each member of the team that I’ve been in contact with has been accessible, quick to respond when needed and flexible in accommodating how busy schedules can get and have continued to be outstanding in supporting my pet’s health in both emergency and regular check-up circumstances - even through the pandemic. Since starting out with this team, I can’t imagine taking my pets anywhere else for their vet services. I don’t think my pets would get the care that they deserve anywhere else.

I brought my bunny to get spayed at this wonderful animal hospital! I was worried because a spay is quite an invasive surgery, however, the staff helped me feel really calm and at ease, as they thoroughly explained the procedure and post-surgery care to me. The Doctor, The Technician and The Receptionists were all so lovely and made my experience amazing! My bunny is recovering well and she is back to her normal bubbly self!

My dog went in for a routine dental cleaning and this when I got the phone call from my wife. My wife explained to me that they pulled over 10 teeth out of my dogs mouth ( all in the front). No call from Burnhamthorpe to explain nothing from the surgeon. Really horrible experience, a receptionist called to explain? Do not leave your animal there you might not like the possibility of having your animal's body parts removed without a call during surgery. ZERO STARS.

These guys deserve all the stars! Recently took our boy here in an emergency, as our vet couldnt fit us in til the next day. I ended up switching over after that... for both the emergency visit and the subsequent follow up, we have had the BEST experiences. The staff are great- really friendly and very professional, and i can tell they really care about their patients. There was nothing particularly wrong with my former vet, but I find BAH just seems a little more caring and I felt a better connection with the staff (both the DVMs and the vet techs). So happy we made the switch! Thanks to Dr Megan and dr Melissa for taking such good care of my Paul when he needed it most!

I asked for a quote on a particular medication. The price was provided and me being a smart shopper I know that pet pharmacys have a reduced price which consists of 25% to 50% . I asked them to write me a prescription due to the inflated price they quoted me and they turned around and said that there is a $23 dollar prescription fee associated. No thanks, I went back to my old vet unfortunately who is out of the way who filled this prescription for $5. You have lost a customer and I don't mind driving the few extra km's to see my old vet who doesn't try to rip off their clients Becuase burnhamthorpe animal hospital can't accept the fact that not everyone will pay the expensive medication fees when we have alternative options for our pet medications. It seems that you guys are so money driven and that's a terrible practice. Maybe it you help your clients out in other areas for example this you would have kept a client but instead you've lost one.

Family! That's how you and your "fur" family get treated as. I've brought 6 dogs and 2 cats to this accredited hospital, for everything from shots, spades/ neuter's, x-rays, boarding, a variety of surgeries and even teeth cleanings. every single time, I get clear concise answers to my questions, staff here are very open and honest, which helps me feel at ease. all staff are professional and seem to have a family-like relationship! finally they have they have the highest skill to cost balance i've ever heard of! with comparably affordable cost and an understanding financial assistance plan to help those of us who are having a hard time and want out fur family to be healthy. Otherwise the best vets, technicians and receptionists that are all very knowledgeable its a beacon for other animal hospitals to look up to. finally I would just like to thank all staff for years of amazing, responsive and familial services :)

The staff are very compassionate and friendly. All the doctors are very good and our cat Simi’s doctor, Melissa McPhee is one of the most compassionate and caring doctors you can find. Overall, there is nothing negative I can say. I highly recommend this clinic.

Dr. Toner is amazing! I recently had to bring my two senior cats in for check ups as new patients, and the staff were all incredibly kind and loving to them. Dr. Toner and staff took the time to listen to my concerns and explain all of my elderly cats needs. I feel very comfortable leaving my pets in the hands of this clinic and highly recommend them to all. Also… such a beautifully decorated clinic.

So far so good, we have had a puppy for a few weeks now and the entire staff is wonderful!!! Caring and truly love animals. I will be sure to update my review as our relationship continues, so far I would highly recommend this establishment to all pet owners!
