My wife and I lost a dear friend last week. Our 14 year old Springer could not get up out of her bed...Willow was 14 years old and a true friend to us.I had met Dr. Layne Manson a week prior with Willow for an ear infection. Dr.Manson was caring and looked after Willow and helped clean out her ears. It was only a week later that I had to call him to put down Willow. Dr. Manson,and his team was so very good to us...making sure Willow was not in any stress in her final moments and helped my wife and I through this sad day. Thank You very much Dr. Manson and of course your wonderful staff.... PS: On a brighter note I am looking forward after a time of getting another Springer and I would be honoured to have your clinic be our vet...Colin Grant

Professional, personal, caring, compassionate is how I would describe Animal Medical Centre South staff. Last week we had an emergency after hours with our baby Pygmy, Max. The 2 vets (I am sorry I can’t remember their names, I was so distraught) came out and helped our little guy. They were very compassionate and caring about his required needs. Gave us our options, and a direct action plan. We chose to have Max’s leg amputated. It was a very, very hard decision. But the surgery vet, was very patient, caring and explained every question we had with understanding. When I went to pick our Max up, Amy was very thoughtful and thorough on after care. Our cat , appeared to have a blockage or was in dire pain when he went to the litter box. We called and they promptly took care of him even though it was off hours. Turned out he had crystals in his urine. An overnight stay, meds and pain killers and he is back to his old self , has the zoomies, chasing strings and tearing around the house. Pleased

Had really great service and help from Dr. Kendra and support staff. I called at 10AM and am extremely grateful, they got me in at 1:30PM on a cancellation because I had a sick dog. I came home an hour later with peace of mind and a modest selection of drugs that have my girl feeling 100% within a few days. They called the next day to follow up and make sure my dog was on the mend as well. I appreciate that I wasn't pressured / shamed into paying for expensive / not necessary tests like has happened at other local vets. I brought home a probiotic from AMCS that my girl had been prescribed last year elsewhere, the other local vet charged me nearly double the price for less product. I am very grateful I switched to AMCS, and would recommend strongly. It is worth the quick drive. Thank you.

After seeing a different vet in medicine hat, I was very disappointed. When I came into this vet office, everyone was friendly, I didnt wait very long, and they took such great care of my kitty. They didnt push any other treatments on my cat, like the past vet did. The whole appointment went by quick and easy, and now that my girl is feeling better, I will definitely be coming back. I've also recommended you guys to a couple people already, and will continue to do so. They also have an app, that gives you points for discounts or free services later on. I have never seen that before and it's a great idea, considering our pets don't have free healthcare like we do. It might be a bit of a drive to get out there, but it is absolutely worth it! I was a new customer to AMCS, I received a timely appointment, was taken in before the appointment time, the facility was impressive, the service was very courteous, professional and informative, and the billing was less than expected for the considerable amount of time and attention my goat received. The vet took the time to have a lengthy discussion with us over the phone about our two year old French bulldog as we had just adopted him and had questions and weren’t able to come in with him because of COVID-19. It was the longest discussion with a doctor we’ve ever had (even with our own) and we really appreciated her taking the time to explain everything and make recommendations on his best course of treatment for his allergies which included saving us some money by telling us to wait to do allergy testing and just start with a restricted diet and see how he is in a few weeks. We love this clinic and trust them implicitly with our animals care.

I called yesterday because my four year old cat was sick. They told me to bring her in right away. All throughout the day. the vet would personally call me to give me updates, ask the questions she needed in hopes of getting to the bottom of what was wrong with her. Sadly it was acute kidney failure most likely caused by something toxic she ingested. I will never know and will have to live with the guilt. The decision was made to euthanize her that same night. They let us sit in the room with her and they were patient and gave us the time we needed before we were ready. They talked to us about different options, such as getting her paw print and how we wanted her remains disposed of. I'm devastated by her sudden loss but they did everything they could. Thank you to the staff.

Our dog cut her foot quite bad on a Saturday, the business closed at 2pm we called shortly after 2 and they had not left the clinic yet. They charged us $125 after hours charge, plus $65 examination fee, as well as this they charge $44 for every 10 minutes of surgery and every thing else, even basically down to the cost of the paper for the bill and amount of ink to print it. We paid the same amount in Maple Creek to spay her which is a fairly involved operation to paying for a few stitches here. I don't feel the employees that work here care about animals, their main goal is about how much money they can make!

There was nothing that could have been better! Outstanding care for my pets and because i was rushing out the door with a mad cat and a wild toddler i couldnt find the door for the kennel so i had to improvise. Came to pick my cat up and here they gave me a new kennel that was donated to them. Here i was going to run to petsmart and buy a new one and they just gave me one! That small gesture made my day hands down! Saved me some money but more importantly i didnt have to drag my toddler into a store and i could get my fur baby home to rest. Thank you for your compassion and hard work.

My first experience with Animal Medical Centre South unfortunately was due to an emergency after hours visit with my pup. The first place I called would not accept us due to not being a current patient. I explained we were new to the city and they still would not help (never in a million years would I have expected to be denied service but you learn something new everyday), but they did refer us here. Funny enough this clinic was my first choice but in rushing to find a vet I missed the emergency number listed on the website. Thankfully Dr. Kendra was willing to come into the clinic and look at my dog Cash in the middle of the night. She was professional and compassionate. We were even able to come back later the same morning when the clinic was open for additional testing. I 100% recommend this clinic and Dr. Kendra.

I have gone to almost every vet in Medicine Hat and was unable to find anyone I felt comfortable with. Dunmore vet is surreal. They care for your animal with genuine empathy. My German Shepherd is a big baby, and the staff here are not the slightest bit scared of him, I love it. Other vets have asked to muzzle him unnecessarily. On top of that they figured out skin problems on him that have stumped many other vets. On top of all of that! They did it with the best price by far and hands down the best customer service I've ever had. Couldn't recommend them enough. 10/10.

A big thank you to Animal Medical Centre South! Due to a bat situation in my home I needed to get my kitty Sasha vaccinated for rabies. The Animal Clinic got me in very quickly and the vet Clayton was very gentle with Sasha and very helpful and informative about rabies even giving me information on rabies immunization for myself. The person who took my original call not only showed concern for Sasha but also for me with regards to the bat situation and possible immunization. Thank you so very much for your concern and friendly staff and wonderful experience! I definitely will be back. And yes I did get the rabies immunization for myself.

I want to give a 5 star rating, and I hope I still will be able too, however at this point in time, I can't believe them when I'm told the DVM will call on a specific day. Waiting for over a week or more for test result when told I will get a call back at end of day. This is the 3rd or 4th time it's happened. Told on a Friday will get a dental surgery estimate the following Monday...nothing. Really hoping things will change, however, my pets health and my nerves are important enough for me to start thinking I may have made a mistake coming here.

My very first interaction with Animal Medical Centre South wasn't a very enjoyable one as i was loosing my best friend at the time. My boy Fenris had gotten really sick very suddenly and I wanted nothing more than for him to be safe. Although they did everything they could he was not able to be saved and died a few months before his 5th birthday. This clinic was remarkable with how they handled both trying to save him as well as afterwords. The vets kept me informed the whole time on how he was doing even calling me late at night (as requested) to keep me informed on his progress, allowing me access to him and never rushing me out of the clinic while i was visiting him. When there they answered all questions and where very informative about my options and odds of success. They were never short with me or insensitive towards my feelings. I am grateful to them, these people are in the right careers because when you are with them you can tell right away that they truly care for animal big or small. I will continue to bring my animals here because i know they will get the best care from people who love animals as much as, if not more than I do.

You all should get 10 stars!!! Affordable care that allows animal owners to make the best choices when it comes to treatment and care. Thank you. Everytime I pay, whether it be a regular visit, an emergency visit, a silly worry wort kitty mom visit, a 10 PM crisis visit, or a regular check up visit, I am always shocked at how the bill isnt higher. I need to speak about the emergency side of the care they provide. Both times I've had to call, Dr Krista has been the calming, compassionate, helpful voice on the other end of the phone. Even though our after hours visit ended in tears, I still walked away feeling grateful for the excellent and compassionate care we were provided. So hats off to all the staff, for working as an amazing team to provide a level of care that this area has been lacking. When it comes to pets, sometimes owners can have their backs up about how their animals should be cared for and how much it should cost. Awesome staff. Even with the changes due to COVID, everyone is super attentive. Even though I wasn't in the room, I felt the vet was really attentive to my concerns over my dog, and answered all the questions I had. I am very happy that we changed vets.

Animal Medical Centre is the best vet I have ever gone to. I have an accident prone dog and have been so good to get him in ASAP which is normally the day I call. The staff is very friendly and helpful and make me feel valued as a pet owner. They are not pushy for treatment and fully explain all the possible treatments well. Would strongly recommend to anyone.
