While om vacation, my large dog became sick and lame. Bridgewater Animal Hospital was quick to take him in. Within an hour, they had him diagnosed, treated and ready to come home. Lovely staff, and took awesome care of my big boy.

Twice we've used this vet. The first time, we phoned ahead to find out how much a simple brucellosis test would be for our former show dog so that she could be bred, if clear. We were given a quote over the phone of $65.00 which was in line with what we'd paid at other vets (in BC) in the past. After they had taken what they needed for the test, the bill came out to over $200.00 with all of the add-ons. They told us that whoever had quoted us over the phone was wrong and pretty much too bad, so sad. We vowed to never go back. Today, we had a bit of an emergency with a 2 week old puppy. I phoned, when they opened, at 8 am. I was told that she would find out when they had an opening for a drop off that day and that she'd call me back around 9 am. At 9:30 I called back and was told that they didn't have any openings, that they were swamped. I called their sister clinic and got the same response. We normally, since the first incident at Bridgewater Animal Hospital, take our dogs all of the way to Carnegy in Halifax because they are just that much better but, I felt that this was an emergency and I didn't want to take a very sick, very young puppy all of the way to Halifax. She asked where we were taking our dogs and I told her. She then said, "well, I suggest that you will have to drive to Halifax to your own veterinarian." I phoned the one other vet in the area, Nova, and they got me in right away. Thank you, and koodos to Nova for having compassion. These veterinarians, Bridgewater and South Shore, are uncaring, unprofessional and has just poor people skills in my experience with them.

I took my cat Scott here to get neutered and they did a great job giving me home care and making sure that he was relaxed and well cared for. I picked him up in the afternoon and he slept the whole ride home :)

They bullied us to take an unnecessary test for Lyme despite the fact our dog is vaccinated against Lyme, treated for ticks, and is completely healthy, then after I had paid the unnecessarily high bill, the manager came to my car window to tell me off for not wearing a mask in the parking lot and said I wasn’t welcome back unless I provide personal medical information that the government does not advise people to give out. I will Never go back here and do Not recommend the business to anyone!

When one of our family fur members was at the end of life and suffering, the vet didn't want to stay after hours to accommodate us when euthanising our pet. The stress from having to be there for our pet over the past months was only exasperated from not being able to find them peace. When the time came to perform the said act, the owner had to endure listening to what conversations that was had by family members with the vet. The owners final moments with their pets was tainted by the vets own personal drama. Unprofessional.

I moved to the Lunenburg, NS area a few months ago. I was trying to get a veterinarian for my dogs. One of the my dogs was sick, his nose bleeding and it would not stop. I called and tried to book an appointment but they didn't have one. I called their emergency number and the women on the phone told me Dr Barry Falkenham would call me right back and to wait out side the Vet office. I the end up waiting almost 6 hours in a hot temperature with my dogs and no shaded cover to sit outside. In the end I went home without hearing anything from anyone and waited to Monday to call again. I suffered and my dogs suffered. On Monday they agreed to see my dog but charged me an extra $20 because I didn't have appointment. I talk to them about what happened on the weekend and still they charged me the money. They didn't care. I felted so disappointed. I had heard good things about this vet, but today another disappointing issue. I had called and booked other appointment with them and I asked that one my dogs needed monthly shot. I asked if I could get a bottle of the medicine (it comes in a 8 months supply) and I can give the shot at home every month, just like I have done every month last 3 years. They did not want to give me the bottle of medicine to take home because they don't make money every month from me bringing my dog in. I was told the doctor would meet with me to explain what was possible. When I arrived, and asked to speak with Dr Falkenham, his assistant said no, he wouldn't come out to talk to me. In the end I took my dogs and walked out from my appointment. I thought that in small town Nova Scotia people were nice and friendly but not at the Bridgewater Animal Hospital, where the doctor cannot come out and talk to clients about their pets. That for me its not professional behaviour at all.

We were in a crisis situation. Traveling form Dartmouth to Lunenburg. In Mahone Bay our elder dog had a seisure. Her fourth in just a few months. We needed help. Called this place and they were able to take her. Only downside is they still do not allow you to be present. We had to drop our pet off at the back door to be euthanized alone and not with us. Grateful they could help, sad we could not be with her. Only place still not allowing people inside due to Covid. Yet Bridgewater is such a non-Covid town.

Absolutely amazing veterinary clinic, the staff and veterinarians are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Every question i asked they answer (i ask lots of questions when it comes to my fur babies). It is a very clean and comfortable clinic inside and out. They treated my cat for a UTI after a very expensive office visit and now a month later it's back but these people will not give me a refill without another very expensive office visit.. I live on a fixed income and used bill money to have my cats visit. That's all good she is important. However I believe a caring vet would not make an animal suffer when all she needs is a refill on medication. All the same symptoms as maybe 30 days ago. CRUEL! I sometimes forget money talks.

Lost a customer .. i was yelled at for no reason .. i was told by them to come pick up a prescription and call when i get to the parking lot .. lady comes out yelling at me saying thats not how we do things that she had better things to do .. i tried to explain that the prescription was supposed to be ready and was told by them to come and call from the parking lot .. but she obviously would not accept the blame for anything or wasn't listening.. either way she was extremely rude because there were others in the parking lot and im sure anyone could hear her from the car dealership across the street .. as for stars .. if there was a minus selection it would definitely get that from me

I don't post on the internet unless I really mean it. With that being said.... Best Animal Hospital I have ever been to. Very professional, Very reasonable pricing. The Vet I had Paula Cunningham was incredibly thorough and you could tell she truly cares for the animals she's trying to help. My dog came in not wanting to move and left wagging his tail. Oh yeah, and this was 2 days before Christmas on a Saturday....

I can say nothing but good things about Bridgewater Animal Hospital. I had to have my cat who was 18 put asleep because there was nothing else we could do for him and they were so caring and did not over charge me. I now have a new cat and they are looking after his needs as well. I would recommend this vet to anyone ????

Avoid this vet if possible. We took our small dog in for a teeth cleaning and they pulled 7 teeth without even contacting us, or explaining anything when picking him up. I wrote them a letter describing my disappointment and even dropped a copy off, they refuse to discuss this situation with us.
