Dr. Kim Corfield is an excellent RDVM and always fits us into her busy schedule. Thanks Yorkson Creek!
Friendly people, but overcharged and way too expensive!
They are really amazing here! My dog Crumpet had some serious issue that came out of nowhere and they got us in extremely quickly. The staff were all super kind and they really went above and beyond for my little guy. I'm happy to report he is back to his old energetic self and these guys are the reason! Seriously I couldn't thank them enough! He has gone in for a lot of follow ups since and I swear he gets more excited going here and seeing his vet friends than going to the dog park. You can really tell they care about what they do.
I went to this vet as I live very close. Staff is friendly and the vet's seemed nice, but their pricing is way above average. If you're looking for a top dollar vet this will be it. I took my new kitten here to get all of his shots and 2/3 times they told me he had fleas, and they even wanted to put him on a flea treatment for the next 6 months. I never saw a flea on him or in my condo (seemed like extras they were just adding onto the bill) but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Then the 3rd time my partner took him, no more fleas, what a coincidence. When inquiring about neutering, microchip, and tattoo for my kitten their quote came in at over $600. When a normal vet's price is around $200-$250. They also wanted to charge me over $200 for a PRE treatment before even doing the surgery for a blood and urine panel when they had just examined him and have been examining him for the past 6 months. Make sure you do your research prior.
Friendly, wonderful staff willing to offer free advice. Great location close to other shops and free parking.
We have been going to Yorkson Creek Vet since we adopted our two beloved kittens and from the first appointment and every appointment since, they have treated our kittens like gold! Dr. Kim Corfield and her team are absolutely wonderful. She explains everything in great detail and answers all of our endless questions. I most definitely recommend Yorkson Creek Vet for your furbabies veterinary care ????
As a regular patient at Yorkson, my dog was not doing well today and was throwing up multiple times as well as having diarrhea. I called thinking that they would be accommodating to atleast check him. Instead, the receptionist was very confrontational, kept insisting they were fully booked and to book an appointment for the Monday which is 2 days after the fact. We’ve been going there for 2 years and spent quite a lot there. It is unfortunate that the staff has zero care and this is the last time I will contact them. We will definitely miss the Vet but glad that a different clinic was kind enough to squeeze our fur baby in and provided him with the care needed.
While I find the staff very friendly and accommodating, I also feel like the business is a money grab. My lab is excited to visit the vet, but not unmanageable and calms quickly. Part of my expense is the drugs they ask me to give him prior to the visit. I have complied like the fur loving mama I am, but the more I think about it, the more I feel it is not ok and ultimately not even healthy for my pup. To give him this expensive sedative medication for a follow up visit in 7 days for a non life threatening issue so that the vet can deal with a more docile dog for 30 seconds of evaluation...no thank you! This was our last visit to Yorkson.
Finding a vet that will see the smallest of pets was a challenge but I'm so happy I live so close to this place! I took my mice here when I suspected a Upper Respiratory Infection, and the staff and vet were incredible. They listened to my concerns and did check ups on all three of my female mice for the price of one! They also emailed me afterwards to see how the medication was working for one of my girls. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a vet for smaller critters.
As a student of Insignia College's Veterinary Assistant Diploma Program, I had the honor of completing my practicum with this hospital. Under Dr. Corfield's tutelage I learned so much about true compassion and consideration for every pet parent and patient. The love for animals shown in this veterinary hospital is evident from the various techniques used to calm, soothe and reassure every pet, as well as the excellent treatment they receive with Dr. Kim. The staff here is personable, understanding and they genuinely care about your pet's life, and your life with your pet. They are knowledgeable and friendly, and really just want to provide the best quality of service for every patient. Highly recommend for all pet parents out there! From a student VA's (back of house) point of view, this hospital/Dr. Corfield is someone you can trust with your valued family member.
Dr Kim is amazing and really cares as well as the vet assistants, they ask alot of questions and truly care about your pet. They even called my previous vet to learn my dogs history! They did alot more then the previous vet did in regards to find out what kind of skin issues my dog is having, doing swabs, checking them and being very thorough. I am very happy I went to see them and my dog is too. People saying the price is too high is a bit silly seeing as your pet is family and a price shouldn't be put on helping or saving a family member. Very happy I went here.
This was our first time visiting the Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital and wow. Just wow. Dr. Kim Corfield is amazing and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so sweet and affectionate during our vet visit this evening when we brought in not one, but all THREE cats for checkups. Thank you so much for being so friendly, knowledgeable and thorough with Toby, Milo and Harley (and Bentley). <3
I have loved Kim s service for my dog . Except for today when I needed more medication for Marcie as I had interrupted the medication 3 weeks ago due to another issue. I was in 2 days ago and was told to get back on prescription of eye drops as well as the pain killer when needed. But today at 445 the front desk lady tells me that she cannot give me more of the prescription as she would need 24 hours to confirm. Their hours are 9-5 and close Saturday at 2 and closed Sunday. I work every day 9-7 except Sunday and mondays. Very disappointed that a call could not be placed to Kim to facilitate the process. This lady is very eager to follow the rules I get that. But I was just in 2 days ago. I will reconsider.
Felt they cared more about my money than my pets. Asked questions about procedures and all they answered with is by asking us to make a booking . Tried a few times since they are close and convenient but eventually went elsewhere. They still call to get business but shrink, they’re more concerned about their bottom line than they are about the health and well-being of your pets this place has to pay a higher rent for where they are I think that’s one reason why.Definitely do not recommend steer clear
The best, most caring and thorough vet we've ever had. I have no complaint about paying for medical expertise. Yes, it costs a bit...but animals don't have MSP! We love Dr. Kim and her staff!
Dr Kim Corfeild of Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital and her great staff was there for our family when we had to have one of our cats put to sleep. Dr Kim Corfield is still our veterinary with our other cat and takes great care of him. I would highly recommend Dr Kim Corfield and her staff to any one looking for a vet to look after their pets.
I went to this clinic a number of times and did not have a good feeling about them. The doctor was personable but I was not confident in her assessments and what she prescribed. She seems to err on the side of over-medicating. For simple blood work and assessments she prescribed 2 pain meds when vets at other clinics did not use any. More recently we asked for a prescription for our dying dog while we were out of town so we could pick it up from another clinic. They said they did not want to send it to us without another assessment (and fee) so they could remeasure her weight for the appropriate dosage when it had only been 3 weeks since the last assessment. Her weight was unchanged. Previously she also said she was willing to give us the same meds for us to use weeks down the road. This made me think that she cares more about profits than the patient. We also wanted to know what diet would best work for our sick dog and she seemed unsure and recommended dry kibble that she sold. A specialist from the boundary bay clinic gave us a more thorough response with information backed by studies. She actually did not recommend dry kibble. Like others have said they charge a premium for the same services elsewhere. I called another vet to compare prices and yorkson vet was $200-$300 more. At one point she just told me to go somewhere else if I didn't like her prices.
Very expensive Lots of additions Ready to pay hundreds of dollars for small infection
Dr Kim corfeild is the best! Her and her team work great together. They are very patient with all my questions since I’m a new dog Mom I’m overly concerned with almost everything. She doesn’t over charge and really cares about the well-being of your dog she even makes check up phone calls after procedures. Shes always on time and never makes me wait. I come all the way down from Vancouver for several reasons. 1) recommendation from a close friend 2) super friendly and informative 3) lower cost from Vancouver competitors 4) She is such a dedicated doctor and works 6 days a week and just loves animals. She was literally taking photos of my dog!!! She truly cares.
Best vet in the area, I recommend them to everyone.
Professional, personable, knowledgeable staff who truly put your pets first.
Dr. Kim and the staff at Yorkson are fabulous! The care, compassion and follow up we have received are always above and beyond. If you are looking for an amazing vet look no further.
Dr. Kim and her staff are a great team. Friendly and knowledgable. I take my senior cat here for a few years now and she is always treated with care and compassion.
The team here is amazing! They tend to two of our dogs and are incredibly detailed in their assessments and have great communication skills - they are always so gracious at answering questions (even when they might be dumb ones) and very patient at making sure that we understand all of the information that is presented. It is very apparent that they always just want what is best for their patients. Additionally, treatment options and their various pricing has always been clearly communicated and they have never made me feel ashamed in having to think about a treatment due to cost. with our eldest dog at the previous vet, we were always just told that he does not have good teeth. however, was never given any sort of guidance towards improving his situation. Upon first appointment with Dr.Kim Corfield she immediately suggested that we get his teeth cleaned. We had no idea that there were actions we could do. We are very appreciative of their suggestions on doing what is best for our dogs. would highly recommend this clinic to anyone that wants only the best treatment for their animals.
