I had a great experience at, Avon Animal Hospital. They provided exceptional care! They’re always so friendly and accommodating. I call them whenever I have any concerns and they’re always so polite in answering or booking a follow up appointment. My experience at this hospital is nothing but good. They pay close attention to fine details and provide comfort for my for my dog, Coco Luzuka. They are so informative and do a thorough job of explaining things. Upon walking in, the clinic is very clean and sanitary, they follow all the protocols. It is always a delight to visit this location. We have been seeing them for over a year now, through their service, they have helped improve, Coco’s life greatly! Coco has had a successful dental surgery here, that helped alleviate here pain. The doctor has also performed several successful tests to determine Coco’s medical concerns. He has prescribed medications for Coco to follow, that have been effective and beneficial. You can tell they really care about their patients, and have a passion towards making a difference. For these reasons I highly recommend choosing, Avon Animal Hospital, ten out of ten recommend! They have gone above and beyond to provide the best service and care for my fur baby, Coco Luzuka.

I can’t say enough good things about this vet. Our 8 year old Rottweiler started to act not himself, not eating or drinking water. When he’s usually all upbeat. We brought him in to Avon and the vet was concerned right away. They suggested a bunch of tests which they ran only to find out that he had a big mass on his spleen. At this point we were at a loss for words, what are we going to do?! How are we going to afford all of this? Dr Mrar was very accommodating to my family and got the surgery done and Haze is now walking around good, drinking water and finally starting to seem like himself again. I cannot say enough about this vet. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a vet. He’s worth it!

We live in NOrth Delta but drive to Avon Animal Hospital for their annual vaccinations because the service is great and the price is affordable (especially with two of them). A couple weeks ago we brought our dog Moose in as he wouldn’t eat or drink anything. The doctors looked after Moose for multiple days and took many tests to try and figure out what was wrong with him. After moose having some fur stuck in his stomach the doctor was able to remove it and get him back to normal. Every time we would call to check up on Moose and book an appointment the receptionist was very quick to answer and give us a clear insight on everything. Thank you guys for all you do ! ❤️

I took my dog here for his vaccinations as well as dental surgery and they took such good care of him! I found this place by reading the reviews online and I’m glad that I did, they are my go-to vet now. Highly professional and empathetic, you can tell they really care about animals. They also provide you with detailed information about what they’re doing to your pet as they’re doing it and why, as well as proper aftercare information. They make sure to check out your whole pet too (nails, teeth) to make sure everything is good even if you went in for something else which I really appreciated because sometimes owners miss things and we want our pets in good overall health. The prices were more than reasonable and the service worked around my schedule. A bonus - they sent me and my dog a Christmas card in the mail just after one visit which made us feel valued as clients. Highly recommend if you’re searching for somewhere to bring your pet that you can trust to care for them.

We have used this clinic for years with multiple pets. Last Friday my cat was in obvious distress , with blood in urine. We were able to get into see the Vet right away (which is amazing service in it's own right!). He showed the compassion & care we needed during a stressful time. After a (next day) surgery on her bladder to remove multiple crystals, our fur-baby is home again and is on the mend. Today we even received a follow up phone call to check in on her condition. My doggy big boi Kane (BBK) was facing life threatening illnesses. BBK was a strong soul before the illness, he fought his best but he almost didn’t make it. We had some close calls and some scary moments. Our family and I were almost convinced that BBK would no longer be with us. BUT, Dr. Baljit helped us get the best possible care. My cat got hit by a car back in August and we thought we were going to have to put him down. We were referred to Avon, by a friend and they were able to perform the life saving surgery that our fur baby needed. We were treated so respectfully, we were given all the risks of the surgery, and the benefits and the plan if things weren't going to go correctly. Surgery turned out great! The doctor was amazing!!! He called right after and told us that everything had gone amazingly! What I am most impressed by is the after care. The clinic sent us home with supplies for our cat and his recovery, they gave us medications, we even had a free follow up appointment 2 weeks later to monitor how he was doing! We received follow up phone calls from the clinic to make sure he was doing well! The vet even gave us a free cat carrier!!! I cant rave enough how amazing this clinic is, the knowledge, respect, full consultation, after care, and all the follow up calls were fantastic! My husband and I felt so taken care of! If I could give this place a 10/10 I would in a heartbeat!! Our fur baby is doing amazing and back to his normal self and we couldn't be more thrilled!! DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE. I did a working interview here and both the in house cats they have are unhealthy. The one is obese and the other has mats all over her fur. This is a direct representation of your clinic. If the animals you have aren’t in great shape how could I ever trust you with my own pets? They had zero toys for the cats and cats need stimulation. They do not practice Covid protocols in their waiting room, they don’t wipe chairs down or the visa machine after people exit or purchase products. There is only one doctor and he just hires untrained highschool students. None of the assistants there have education/ degrees/ diplomas/ certifications in anything he just takes on highschool students. He does have someone to assist with surgery but he doesn’t have his veterinarian license. I don’t think this is legal either. The clinic also reeks of of cat urine, which leads me to believe they don’t clean up the cats litter box. EDIT: I wrote the review right after I received compensation for the hours I worked. I didn’t think they would pay me for the hours I did, if I wrote the review before. Nobody told me whether or not I was being hired. I would never work here either because of the things listed above.

Avon was recommended to me by a coworker who is taking her older cat and dogs there for care. I took my geriatric cat who ended up having allergies and poor teeth that needed extraction and have had great experiences with both Dr. Amir and Dr. Mrar. All procedures were explained to me fully, including rationale for why certain things were being recommended (ie. bloodwork, xrays, etc.) Dr. Mrar explained which procedures/tests would be most important and allowed me to make an informed decision regarding treatment based on what would be most important for the health and safety of my cat. I was kept informed throughout his (most recent) surgery, with well explained follow-up instructions. Both Dr. Amir and Dr. Mrar have called post- visits and post-surgery to see how my cat is doing; i think what i appreciate most is how the wellbeing and health of my pet seems to be their first concern. My cat is getting better care and attention from his vets than I think we get from doctors nowadays! ???? My cat is like family to me, and I recommend Avon to anyone who lives in the Langley/Surrey area.

Brought my dog to this vet about concerns of a bump near his eye lid area, as this clinic was located close to my workplace. As soon as I walked in, I should have trusted my gut reaction and left. Huge waste of time and money. The clinic has 2 cats, which were the most overweight cats I have ever seen. I felt horrid for them, as their weights were visibly soo unhealthy. Still, I regrettably stayed for my appointment. When the vet came to our room, I showed him the small bump on my dog. Right away, he told me my options for paying for surgery. Surgery? I was shocked. He hadn't told me anything yet and right away dove into discussing surgical procedure and the price point (well over $1,000.00). I completely understand that it's impossible to just "know" how serious a small bump can be; however, I expected that they would provide me with some educated "insight" before just talking to me about money. I am well aware that things can be surgically removed. I did not need to come in to pay the exam fee for him not to examine my dog and just to tell me the price of surgery. I literally could have gotten this basic information over the phone from any other vet and not have to come waste my time and money. The vet saw the shock on my face and was obviously waiting for me to say yes or no to the surgery right then and there, so I had to awkwardly ask him if I could think about it.... The vet was visibly annoyed once I asked if I could think about it. They seriously were expecting me right then and there just to walk in to a new clinic, hear absolutely no insight from the vet, and agree to have them surgically operate on my dogs eyelid just like that? Please, if you love your animals, go to a different vet that cares about more than just making money.

The vet was rude, kept interrupting me when I was trying to ask questions, after about 20 minutes of not being able to get a word out he says I should get numerous tests done and that if I don’t have $2100 he can’t help me. Shocked about the amount , I finally was able to get a word out by aggressively telling him to let me finish my sentence I asked him if necessary since it’s flee or tick bites and that I’m able to pay half would he be able to wait a week for other have to be paid just to get test started he said I have to pay in full bc he has to pay in full for his business then tells me it’s $80 for the visit and I should leave and come back when I find the money to be able to help my dog. By this point I ask him to meet me at my truck outside if he wants to collect the $80 from me. I proceeded to go to allondale on 108 were they treated me great diagnosed my dog and gave me prescription for $250 and within 2 days my dog is already looking and acting so much better. So avoid Avon unless u have no other choice

My cat, Miss Kitty had to have dental surgery for her dissolving teeth. Dr Mrar was very thorough that he did dental X-rays throughout the surgery to make sure all the tooth pieces were extracted from her gums. I have to start off stating that the level of professionalism at this office is appalling, and that I do NOT recommend this vet. Before I begin to elaborate on why, I would like to say that the receptionists are absolutely lovely, and I had no issue with them. Dr. Bill however, I cannot say the same. From the get go, he was incredibly rude, and not only to myself. Throughout the entire visit, Dr. Bill berated his assistant to no end, to the point where she was visibly upset. Unfortunately, this was not the only problem, either. When he wasn't criticizing his assistant, he was attempting to upsell us throughout the entire visit. Dr. Bill demanded we run blood tests for our dog, and attempted to push us to sedate her that very day for dental work! This was a $300-$500 procedure, when we had only come in for a check-up. I have begun to think Dr. Bill is not a vet, but a salesmen. From this alone, I will not be returning to this establishment, as Dr. Bill's behavior toward not only us, but his staff, was absolutely atrocious.

Have been going to Dr Bill and Avon Animal Hospital for over 7 years now with my two dogs. Even after moving into the tri-cityes we still travel back to Avon Animal Hospital. Dr. Bill and his staff are excellent and take very good care of our dogs and their prices are very good. They do not recommend more service/procedures than are necessary. When we moved we did try another vet who was totally ridiculous in recommending all sorts of things that were just not necessary, so we are glad to make the extra trip to Avon, as we know we will not be ripped off.

Extremely dissatisfied with the professionalism of the staffs there. The vet doctor was impatient, condescending and rude during my cat's visit. The nurse has no idea what she is doing because she gave me a list of vaccines for dogs. Does she not know the difference between a cat and a dog? How is someone like this qualify to work at a vet clinic? Worst thing is, they kept on selling me pet insurance. I bring in my cat for a checkup, please don't treat me like an ATM. I don't recommend anyone to bring their cats to this clinic. Period.

Attention! Be careful about vets there. They do scare you and then recommend you to have x-ray and blood test. But don't do it and find another place to get second opinion. I personally did not lessen to them and my lovely dog after using deworm medicine has fully recovered. Attention! All these good reviews are written by the same person. Just look at the wordings and compare them with real ones that scored very low!!! The whole office smells very bad! I would never go there!!

Our cat Pearl was brought into this clinc with no appitite loosing weight not eliminating..we experienced the utmost care here..The vet was very knowledgeable and explained everything as to what our options were. Pearl had a mass and we wernt sure what was going to happen and he ordered some exrays and other treatments and it came back that she was suffering in pain. We made that difficult decision to let her go but we had so much support and compassion from the Dr and the nurses. I will continue to refer these professionals as they really do care about our pets and less about the money. Which in my experience is very rare. Here's the thing. I just recently brought my dog "Shadow" to this veterinarian clinic and I tell you what i got was not what I expected. It was SO MUCH better then expected. The staff here are amazing. They treat your pet with the same level of care as you do. They did a spay on my dog. They where very detailed in explaining surgical procedures to me. They called right after Shadow was out of surgery to tell me how it went and when I could come and get her. THEN when I got there they were VERY specific in explaining to me what I had to do in the next few days and what to expect. To add even more to an already great experience they called me the next day to follow up and see how Shadow was doing and to make sure I was comfortable with what was expected of me to keep my fur baby healthy after her procedure. Honestly I am extraordinary picky when it comes to who cares for my dog and I can not say enough good things about this place. Please take your animals here. We took our Border Collie in to get spade and have her ear looked at as she had some sort of infection. The vet told us that she had something going on with her ear but didn’t know what it was and charged us almost $700 He gave us an antibiotic which really didn’t help her. We took her to a different vet and she took a scraping of her ear turns out it was a yeast infection. Why couldn’t the previous vet do this? I definitely would never go back to this vet ever he was more interested in money than taking care of our dog

Took my puppy in twice for worming and shots.. The first visit the Dr scolded the tech in front of me that she misspelled my name.. it was no big deal to me, but he shouldn’t had called her over to scold her in front of me. The second visit, he scolded a different tech for taking to long with me because she was explaining their puppy plan to me. Ive never been to a vet before, so when we adopted our dog coco we came in for dental work, and I’m so glad we found them. What I love about Avon is their service is always friendly and helpful. They have given us all the time and support for our little pup. Recently coco has been diagnosed with cancer and they have been there ever since. I would like to edit my review. The receptionist left a month ago and the service has gone down the drain. The medication they precribed for my dog was almost double in price then another clinc. I called in to give feedback and the new receptionist was to call me back and never did. The nurse who assited me has no emotions, was quiet to a point it was uncomfortable. She didn't even aknowledge my dog, check my dogs teeth like the previous one did. It is upsetting to see how this place has turned around. We will be switching our dog care to another vet closer to home. I had a vet when I first had my Lynx flown in from the US 3 years ago, she was way too tiny , and I was not impressed with the breeder at all. However, she needed immediate care , after the intial visit (somewhere else) and determine she was a munchkin Lynx (a midget) everything made sense. Regardless, I needed a good vet, especially for her spading and anything else needed in the future; one I could trust, and call at any given moment. AVON was that place, they are diligent, and do exactly what is needed for your animal. They go over and beyond. Avon does not push this test and that test, nor do they overcharge; their interest is first for your pet and then they focus their efforts to help you. That is important. Trust them, it’s places like this that genuinely care and open their doors to emergency situations and even to you as their owner. The vet techs are always so cheerful and helpful, I always get in to see someone in a timely manner, and I feel like the whole staff genuinely cares about my pets. This is my second time writing this review, as the first one was "mysteriously" deleted shortly after posting. I also find it amusing that every negative comment posted is responded to as "this client is not found in our database". No person goes out of their way to write something negative just for the hell of it. Especially about a vet, how random.. If I could give this clinic less than one star, I would. My boyfriend and I went in to weigh our dog at this clinic. We saw puppies and ask the owner if it was alright to see them, as well as if our dog saw them. The owner of the puppies permitted our dog go greet them, although that was just not ok in Dr. Bill's eyes. He treated us with the upmost disrespect, and to add to his questionable "professional" nature, he SWORE at us. FOR OUR DOG SEEING THESE PUPPIES. I honestly couldn't believe my ears, and that a so called "professional" had uttered these words during business hours to HIS CLIENTS! I won't mention what he said, as that may have been the reason my prior review was removed. Needless to say, the client in his office as well as his secretary were absolutely shocked and appalled by his behaviour. I distinctly remember the secretary's jaw dropping. I guess if you spend that much time with animals, you start to become one, even though I know a dog would have acted more professional. To anyone looking for a vet in the Langley/Surrey area, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. There are many vets, and certainly ones that won't act like this to there clients. This is not the first negative incident experienced with Dr. Bill, such as his inaccurate diagnosis of our dog, a puppy at the time, having urinated on his floor from being nervous (only been to the vets once before for his shots, which I would consider a negative experience for a puppy overall) saying he had a urinary tract problem. He has never urinated in anyone else home or even in ours after training. This mis-diagnosis caused serious problems with our pet insurance. Needless to say, we will never be returning there. P.s- the only thing this doctor should be prescribing is a muzzle: for himself. That might help him with his obscene profanity outburst he took out on us.

Everyone at Avon have given our pugX, Susie Q, excellent care for 4 years. At 8 weeks she fell off the bed and broke her hind leg--she was growing so fast the cast had to be replaced 3 times--and at 6 months the tendons in that knee had to be pinned. To see her run and jump now as if nothing had ever happened is wonderful. Avon Animal Hospital always provides a clean, safe, caring atmosphere along with excellent advice and medical attention. They are also helpful by submitting claims for pet insurance. They are my first choice for veterinary services. PS The email reminders are great, too.

Took our dog to Avon because of a variety of symptoms and unfortunately our usual vet did not have any appointments available that day. Immediately, we got a bad vibe from this place when the Avon vet would just show us a list of random things we could do to our dog and a price list for each of them and asking us to choose. We even have a photo of what he showed us where it's literally a list of tests, treatments and pricing for all of it. There was barely any explanation of a diagnosis or a plan and it seemed like he just cared more about how much each treatment or test costs. It felt like he was more of a salesman than concerned about what is his professional opinion of what is best for my dog. Whenever any question was asked, we were given a vague response with barely an explanation. We agreed to a blood test and a few other things but was asked to pre pay $800 worth of tests and treatments before they were even executed or found out if they were even needed. There has never been a vet who required us to pre pay for an entire list of tests and treatments before we knew if they were even needed. Regardless of any vet we have ever gone to, emergency or not, we have never had to pay in full up front. If we were not so worried for our dog, we would of picked up on that and gotten a second opinion elsewhere. The Avon vet again seemed very annoyed by our phone calls asking about our dog which was in their care. We asked to remove our dog from Avon and initially they refused saying that they have already started an IV. We called again telling them no, we are taking our dog to which the receptionist then asked us "what makes your other vet so special over ours?". Who says something like that? Then the Avon receptionist was being very odd by refusing to send over the necessary documents to our vet and says that our vet can call instead for them. Then he randomly sent part of the records to our email 45 mins later. Our vet then proceeded to try to contact Avon and receive records which took a very long time. Then the symptoms and when they occurred written down by the vet of Avon were completely wrong so we had to fully explain the situation again to our vet. I wish we just begged our regular vet to take our dog, stopped for a moment and questioned the ridiculous pricing and manner of the vet at Avon or read these reviews before coming here. We feel dirty that we got taken advantage of during a vulnerable state with a loved pet.

i was going to a different vet for past 5 years. my friend recommended this clinic, after having trouble with my dogs teeth, i been getting teeth cleaned every year, still my dog had issues chewing. Dr. Mrar did xray and found that my dog had abscess teeth. He did extraction and now my dog is chewing hard food with no problem. Now ons i m only taking Roxy to Avon Animal Hospital. The follow ups they have done made me feel i m taken care off and my pet is in good hands. Its not just a business they actually take care of pets with love and affection. Highly recommended

Brought our 18 year old cat in when she wasn’t eating well. They did bloodwork, a urin test and a fluid drip. 1000$ later we picked her up again in the evening. They recommended to put her on a Veterinarian exclusive diet, do another round of blood work in a few days, X.Ray because “they heard something when they examined her” and some other test. This would’ve been another couple of thousand dollars. When we didn’t want to continue right away, the doc just walked out. We wanted to take the test results from blood and urin with us, but the urin test results they couldn’t find to this day. I feel they’re more interested in making money than helping my cat.

We've been dealing with AAH since they opened and over the years we have had a Lab and Yorkie pass due to age and currently have 2 more Yorkies, a Keeshond and a Persian cat. Dr. B and his staff have always shown compassion to us when it came time for the older ones and been knowledgeable, honest and reasonable in cost in care of our current pets. Dr. Mrar usually comes in at 10:00 AM, but we had work in the morning, so he offered to come in early just for us, so he could treat our dog and we could make it to work on time. We took our cat in to get spayed. As soon as we entered the clinic, we noticed that the in house cats were very dirty and over fed. The place also smelt weird but even then we decided to go ahead giving the benefit of doubt since the reviews were decent. However, the vet's behaviour was odd and he couldnt answer generic questions about feline care and just laughed it off. After the procedure, their update was very basic and when we took our cat home, the after care instructions were written very badly, poor grammar and not very detailed. They said there would be no follow up but due to our concern we asked another vet for an opinion on after care and generic instructions, they were able to provide much more detail and though they also do not do follow up appointments they asked for a picture of the area of surgery out of concern and handled our cat way better. In addition to this, I found that my cat was shaved excessively and I felt the staff had no genuine care towards their duty. I would run like the wind from this vet, DO NOT go here.

Dr Mrar saved my Male dog's life. My girl and boy dog were being treated somewhere else for respiratory illness. My girl dog passed away from her illness. On that day I was so scared my boy dog would die also. The vet would not let me bring my dog in for a recheck. The vet was afraid of covid. I found Dr Mrar and told him the story. He said bring him in right away. This happened in April. He did the right tests and gave the right medication. He took care of us even if there had been risk to himself. He could tell it was to be taken seriously. He also gave excellent referrals for follow up confirmation of treatment. I really wish he had looked after both my dogs. Amazing experience from this clinic. I have a brand new 9 week old Shi Tzu who unfortunately developed CHERRY EYE on both eyes. Dr Mrar and his staff urgently took her in on 2 different occasions to do surgery. after two weeks of healing, both eyes are looking good as new, and as if there was no Cherry Eye at all. Coco, my dog, came out of surgery very well, Dr Mrar and his staff were polite, caring and had urgency in taking my animal in and I would strongly recommend this doctor for Cherry Eye surgery. Given this positive experience, I would trust him with my dog for all future appointments. Overall, 12/10 in all areas, and look forward to any future encounters! our Large German Shepherd has both ACL’s torn. The great people of Avon Animal Hospital made room to deal with this on the weekend. to Dr Bill, I am the pet owner with the dog with back pain that came to you that you mention in your response to the review below.I can speak to my experience in that visit to your establishment and I do not support or agree what you relay down there in the review response. I can let you know the details and I hope you can take this constructive criticism and as an opportunity to improve and better your business. I had made an appointment with your clinic as I couldn't get in at my dog's primary clinic that day and felt a sense of urgency with his back pain. Upon arriving to your clinic, the first impressions were not so good seeing an obese, overweight in-house cat that I notice is mentioned in your other reviews. This is a big red flag as this is a representation of your business and genuine care and concern for animals' well being. There was no warming up to my pet. It was straight to business and your sales pitch on what treatments/tests my dog needed.-No compassion, no empathy, no genuine feeling that you care for animals. You were all business with poor bedside manner and professionalism and quite frankly, speak quite condescendingly. You suggested all these other treatments not pertaining to my main concern until I got you back on track to focus on the main point of my visit. When I expressed disinterest in the other treatments/tests and let you know I would need to talk to my husband about how we would like to proceed, you were quick to dismiss me. Coming to this review page and seeing your responses to poor reviews completely validates how I feel about your business. You are quick to your defenses and lack taking any accountability or interest to improve yourself as an individual or as a business. My pet has made almost a complete recovery in 48 hrs with the help of my other vet, pain medication, and lots of rest. No sedation, random tests and X-rays needed.

I STRONGLY recommend NOT to use Dr. Jandi, if Dr. Bill refers you to Dr. Jandi's mobile animal services called Southwest Veterinary Services. In retrospect I should have stayed with Boundary Bay Animal Hospital for my dog's elbow surgery. Here are some of the highlights of working with Dr. Jandi: - multiple phone calls initiated by client to track down the doctor, with false promises received to call back or check on CT scans - consistently late appointments as the doctor travels from one location to another, and one appointment the doctor did not show up for and did not notify the client or make any apology - 5-10 minute appointments in the lobby or outside the hospital where the doctor shows very little professionalism or care Overall I would say that the hospital is below average, and I would recommend either Brookswood Vet Clinic or Boundary Bay.

No complaints on the vet or the service. My only issue was when I went into pick up food (we need a special low fat food) they didn’t have the brand that my dog prefers. I was told that the other brand they carry would work as an alternative. My dog won’t eat the food recommended so I asked if I could exchange it for the brand I originally wanted and they won’t. I understand why you can’t return opened food but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth since it was their recommendation

I recently got a puppy and when I brought him in to Avon Animal Hospital, we received amazing treatment. This is my first time owning a dog, as I have always had cats, the doctor was extremely helpful and what made me so grateful is how much he cared about my little puppy Onyx. He took time to distract him from his shots while putting treats on the table, and afterwards giving his compassion while my puppy was in a little bit of discomfort from the sting of the shot. I am thankful for doctors like this when it can be a little bit of a stressful time seeing your pets in discomfort, my puppy also had an issue with his eye and the doc went above and beyond to make sure all was okay. I have had terrible experiences at vets before with my cats, and having found this office I am so happy! Highly recommend!

We took our 8 month old Frenchton pup to Dr. Mrar to get neutered one week ago. This was our first visit to his clinic and he spent time with us before the procedure explaining the different options with us and making us feel comfortable. He is very kind and funny as well. The clinic -also followed up the following day to check on him. Our pup has been recovering well since the procedure and there has been no issues. We are happy we took our fur baby to Avon.

I had a great experience at this vet clinic and would highly recommend them! When my regular vet was busy with an all day emergency surgery, I needed someone that day to look at my dog for what I thought at the time was a simple eye infection that turned out to be something much more serious! I truly believe that Dr. Bill's keen eye and years of experience as a vet was what saved my dog's life! My regular vet told me over the phone that my dog was ok if she did not have a temperature and Dr. Bill knew better. He gave my dog a very thorough exam and was able to tell almost right away what the real problem was. When I came into the office, the vet techs were very nice and I felt that they were respectful and polite about my decision to raise my dog in a natural/holistic manner (feeding a balanced raw food diet, using titre tests to minimize vaccines, etc) although they do appear to be a more traditional vet clinic. I felt like the intake questionnaire was very thorough and detailed, and I appreciate that as a highly involved and particular dog owner. I knew when I brought her in that my dog was feeling "off" and had been for the last two weeks. She was drinking a lot of water and kind of acting sad, depressed, and grumpy - but I thought this was just the heat of summer and the hormonal changes of her coming out of season. At four years old and only 58lbs, I thought it was too early for Pyometria. I was still careful and aware of it however, and I did call my regular vet twice to check that her symptoms were not a cause for concern, I also took my dog's temperature frequently. The other vet said if she didn't have a temperature she was fine. I very much regret having listened to that other vet as it could have cost my dog her life as they were dead wrong! Dr. Bill saved my dog's life by realizing the real problem behind the eye infection and acting with haste and experience to take the necessary actions. My worst fears were confirmed when Dr. Bill told me I needed x-rays and blood work as he suspected that my dog DID indeed have closed Pyometria - a serious condition that requires immediate surgery that day. It was confirmed that my dog had this through the tests, and I was very upset and so scared. The vet tech and Dr. Bill were very nice and compassionate to me. They gave my Kleenex and reassured me while walking me through exactly what was going to happen next. Dr. Bill was very calm and patient and he really made me feel at ease with his stories and how confident he was. He assured me that he had done many of the surgeries that my dog needed before and that he was confident that she would be fine. After the surgery this vet and the techs were very supportive and knowledgeable and really held my hand and walked me through the recovery process. They called to check on my dog and patiently answered all my questions. Every time I called they were patient and nice (especially one who I think is called Tracy...or something with a T) They sent me copies of all my records (and I only had to ask them once!) and Dr. Bill even gave me stronger pain medication for my dog when I just dropped by the clinic to update them about my dog. I feel that this clinic has a great "open door" policy feeling to it and that the vet and and all the techs really care about the animals that go there and are not just out to get people's money. I would not say this vet is "cheap", but I would say that you get really good value and quality service from them for the price you pay. Overall - again I would highly recommend this vet!! Knowledgeable, kind, helpful and patient staff and a doctor who really cares and wants the best for all the animals under his care! :)

I was forced to go to a different place Atlantic animal hospital and was meet with a doctor who argues with his clients offers no free pet insurance for first time visits with your pet they only care about money! Our dog who never shy’s away from anyone, and loves every person he meets, was afraid of the people in the clinic. Had a hard time getting him to go with the assistant and he was afraid of assistant (and assistant commented that our dog didn’t like her) as she handed the leash to us. He was brought back with severe razor burn (from aggressive or inexperienced shaving) and the whole clinic smelled like piss, and body odour. Would not recommend.

Walji - Simba Our frenchton Simba has been going to Avon animal hospital for over a year now and everytime we required their services, we have not been disappointed. Dr. Bill has always been there when Simba was sick and has always made himself available for whenever we needed him.We have called Avon animal hospital on an emergency basis several times and the staff and Dr. Bill have made the effort to accomodate an appointment for Simba that very same day and even right away. He was also available right away for an emergency surgery for Simba's eye as he understood the urgency. No matter how sick Simba got, Dr. Bill knew exactly what was wrong with him and prescribed the medication that best suited his needs. Simba recovered from his illness within days. We would recommend Avon Animal Hospital and Dr. Bill to anyone requiring services because we can ensure that they will have the best interests for your pet. The knowlege and compassion Dr. Bill has for pets and animals is extensive and we couldn't have found anyone better for Simba.

I've taking my little boy Elvis to Dr Bill since Elvis was six weeks old. Elvis will be 4 yrs old next March 2019. Elvis is a 8 1/2 lb pom. I truly believe that it was luv at first sight when they met. Dr Bill can get Elvis to do Dr Bill wants him to. Elvis had it pretty rough for the first year of his life. My is Lin Luzuka and my Pet’s name is Coco On Sunday we noticed the swelling on the left hand side of Coco’s head, We phoned Avon Animal Hospital on Monday and expressed the urgency of the situation. They were able to accommodate us right away despite of not having an appointment. Also they had to adjust their booking in order to accommodate us. When we reached the clinic the were able to take us right away. Dr. Bal told us they needed to conduct a laboratory test. So we needed to leave Coco with them and let us know when everything is done. I found Dr Bal as very caring he’s treating Coco as his own Pet. I have 200% trust of his knowledge and judgement. I recommend his clinic to all my friends. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. We have been taking our cats and dogs to Dr. Bill and Avon Animal Hospital for about 15 years and have always had excellent care. Our dog is a street dog from India and soon after she arrived as a 41/2 month old pup, we found her adult teeth that came in did not have complete enamel on each tooth. Needless to say, extra vigilance and care was and is required. Not only has Dr. bill given us well-educated care and compassion throughout her dental journey, but is generous with his time and efforts to maintain our dog's teeth in good health. He does not push unnecessary procedures. He is careful to explain each procedure, show x-rays and state all options to maintain not only teeth but optimal well-being for all of our pets. Dr. Bill and Avon Animal Hospital is highly recommended.

My wife's cat died on Dec 1st, 2019 and she adopted a new cat from the Chilliwack SPCA on Dec 14th. Dr. Bill treated Penny, our new cat for a flea infestations, urinary tract infection and updated her vaccinations. He has been our vet for over ten years and taken great care of our three dogs and two cats as well as our pets who are no longer with us. We are pleased with the care he has provided over the years. The worst vet I've gone to and never again. Doesn't provide follow up after doing surgery of my dog (she had a ruptured anal gland). I came back twice to get her tube/stitches removed which was done by their assistant and that was it, no other information given. Not once did the Dr. himself came to check up on my dog to see how she was doing. So I came back the 4th time because my dog was butt scooting which usually means their anal glands needs to be expressed. Finally I've met the Dr. the second time. He didn't know anything about my dog saying she may need surgery when the surgery was already done by him. He should have read my records before even approaching me. I was very disappointed. After providing verbal explanation about my dog butt scooting, he insist my dog needs his anal gland espressed every 4 weeks without even checking first. He then wanted to explain why it needs to be done which Ive already understand. He then pressures me with his explanations and options when all I want him to do is just check first, express her glands if it needs to be done and that was it. However, he refuses to accept what I wanted. Ive read people's negative comments and it is true about him. I never post reviews but I was so upset, I had to. Rating isnt everything and they may even be fake according to previous poster, so be warned. There are many other vets out there and this one I will never come back to again.

I would highly recommend this vet clinic! The staff have been amazing with all of our dogs. One of our dogs had to undergo two surgeries this year. Our puppy had been throwing up for 2-3 days and we took her to an after hour clinic but didn’t feel comfortable that the doctor there was able to preform the surgery. We were told that she needed surgery and that it had to be preformed by a specialist immediately! We than called Avon animal hospital first thing in the morning and they allowed us to bring in our puppy first thing that morning. Dr Mrar was able to perform the surgery immediately and was able to have our puppy back to her normal self within the week. We have been going to Avon for over 5 years now - we live in delta so it is a little out of the way but its worth the drive. All of our dogs love the staff there and feel comfortable with the doctor. They have gone above and beyond to always make sure all of our dogs health is in good standing. The doctor knew we were scared and concerned the first time around and even gave us his personal phone number in case of any emergencies. Thank you again to all the staff at Avon Animal Hospital! Boss, Louis, Coka and Chico are truly grateful!

I’m so disappointed!! My dog had an infection so he had to stay in Avon for 8 hours on IV and then when I took him home he was crying ALL day!! He was perfectly fine when I dropped him off in the morning!! On top of that Avon is VERY expensive!!

Time and time again we’ve received wonderful service from this clinic and our amazing vet Dr Baljit. So much so that we drive in all the way from Burnaby each time. From regular check ups and immunizations to ear infection treatment and emergency visits for pneumonia, the quality of service and level of care provided surpasses my expectations. Both the vet and his staff are compassionate and truly care about the animals they work with. He is thorough, explains things in a straightforward way, recommends various treatments with no pressure tactics and charges a very fair price. He’s even come in after hours one one occasion to help us out in an emergency where our poor Boston Terrier was throwing up blood. We struggled with medical answers for our cat, which compiled to multiple issues from GI, urinary and behavioural problems. Took my dog there just now because I thought there might be a stick stuck in his teeth, called prior to see what they can do and they gave no advice, told me to bring him in so he can have a look. Once arrived I was asked to weigh my own dog and wait in the waiting room. The vet then said they have to sedate him by injection to even look at him. There was no questions asked about his behaviour or symptoms. I didn’t want to sedate him as i had the same thing happen with my other dog and there was no sedation required by the other vet. If they told me they required to sedate him at this clinic over the phone I would never of taken him in. I said I would see if i can get his mouth open today and bring him back tomorrow for sedation if he was still having issues. Overall i was in the clinic for 10 minutes about 7 of them were waiting, 1 minute was an interaction with the Vet (who didn’t even touch or look at the dog) and 2 minutes was the vet raising their voice at me when i questioned the $40 bill for doing nothing. I saw some bad reviews saying they are all about transactions and not about animals before taking my dog there last time to get teeth removed and fixed. I now see why these reviews are there as they didn’t seem concerned whatsoever of my dog and were all about making a quick buck.

Would not recommend, went there to get an exam for my dog. All went well until the doctor told us that there was a fracture in my dog's back molars and gave us an estimate cost of $1284, when asked for more information about the procedure he had the audacity to say that his time is too valuable for these questions and explanation and brought another technician to explain the procedure. But when questions were asked toward the vet technician she was uneducated in that procedure and could not answer any of the questions asked. I just took my dog to another vet for a second opinion and got quoted $400 for the same procedure at Atlantic Animal Hospital and the doctor there even explained the whole breakdown and was patient and answered all of my questions. If I were you, I would find another vet who doesn't tell you dead in your face that "his time is too valuable". Response to owner’s reply : Since Avon animal hospital wants to say these are not apple to apple , lemme tell you, they both include the same thing I made sure that I was doing the best for my dog . You can see how Avon animal hospital doesn’t reply to the REAL problem in which their doctor told me that his time was too valuable whereas any other vet doctor or even a family physician would NEVER SAY THAT . And obviously when I came in for vaccines the exam was free because AVON ANIMAL GIVES EXAMS FOR FREE WITH VACCINES not my problem your exams were free. As well you say that I didn’t want to pay xrays fees for my pets knees ?? You didn’t even notify me that I needed X-ray for my dogs knee , as you said earlier you quoted me X-ray for my dogs teeth . In addition I also got both of those hernia’s fix and the price didn’t even add up to what you quoted :) and my dog is all well .

Where do I even start with Dr. Mrar? Simply put, he is the best. My little pup swallowed a foreign object over the weekend and required emergency surgery to remove it. Like any other fur parent, I was a complete wreck - worried what was going to happen to my little baby. Dr. Mrar’s professionalism, calm yet funny demeanour, and his knowledge/passion towards animals left my family and I at ease. It is to note that he was the second vet I consulted and upon meeting him I knew right away that my little guy was in the best of hand - I actually left Avon with a smile on my face. The surgery was successful and my little guy has been recovering well since. I’m not only grateful and amazed at his response to an emergency surgery, but rather his actions displayed post surgery. He constantly checks up on my pup, is very informative on what is happening, provides prompt answers/help within minutes, and is currently helping me find the right pet insurance. Thank you Dr. Mrar, for everything you have done. My family and I are forever grateful for you and your staff at Avon.

We booked an appointment and we couldn't be happier with our visit. I have been dealing with Avon for probably a decade now. Dr. Bill and his team have cared for our family through thick and thin. I always know I am going to get a honest answer from the doctor and know that he is on the same page with my pets care as we are. Dr. Bill and his team have helped me through the simple of vaccinations through surgeries and also the death of pets. He never turns his back on sick animals and always gives us the best advice possible. We have had many other vets in the past as we are animal rescuers but would only trust ours now to the Avon team. The follow up call to my dogs test results was a little strange. I was told to either put my dog down down or take him to a specialist. I had the results sent to my regular vet, who provided us with a 2 week treatment plan, after which he will be re-assessed. I am glad I didn't just give him the needle.

SO INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED AND HAPPY WITH THIS ANIMAL HOSPITAL! I am not one to write many reviews but really felt I needed to as this place so deserves the recognition! I have been a hobby breeder off and on for over 30 years. Our dogs are a big part of our family and our lives. We also own a farm so needless to say we have met several vets over the years. We had the most amazing small animal (ie cat/dog vs farm animals) vet about 20 years ago and sadly when he retired we never did find a vet close to the trust and faith we had in him. A vet that does not just see dollars when you walk in, a vet that makes suggestions and does not just try to up-sell services and order needless procedures and tests, a vet that is forthright and gives you clear information. A vet that gives his opinion and lets you make the decision and supports that decision. I made an emergency call to this vet last Friday, as someone I knew had visited here and gave such rave reviews. I had a litter of Standard Poodle puppies that just turned 4 weeks old. One very suddenly and overnight had deteriorated to the point I thought I would lose her. She was listless and fading. She was dying. Was so sudden! We were told to come immediately. Bloodwork was done and results were in 15 minutes! I believe this was crucial to her surviving. The blood is run there and does not need to be sent out. She had a normal temperature when we arrived so Dr Bill was not keen on starting antibiotics needlessly. The results however showed she was severely anemic and she had a very very high WBC count. Parvo test was done and negative. She was immediately given IM antibiotics and Dr Bill started subcutaneous fluilds on her. We also did an Xray to rule out trauma (in case mom accidently jumped on her when entering the puppy pen). I was sent home with supplies that I could continue with subcutaneous fluids, as well as 2 antibiotics. She was given a shot to settle her stomach as she did vomit. Dr Bill advised me that I could call at any time, and not to worry if the office is closed as the call then goes directly to his personal cell phone. This puppy was in guarded condition but that evening she was sitting up and eatting some of her food. Within 24 hours she was playing, eatting and drinking. Today, 5 days later she is happy and bouncing! A true little warrior girl! Sorry for this long review, but this puppy in all likelihood was hours from dying. Dr Bill thank you so much! This man knows what he is doing. The price also was so very reasonable, I know at another vet I would be looking at several hundred dollars more. He does what needs to be done and that's it. He even suggested that if I had any concerns over my bill, anything I thought was too much, I could tell him. Wow! After leaving I received calls from not only Dr Bill but also the receptionist to ask about the puppy. Several calls. Even a call today on day 5. Dr Bill you will continue to have me as a client. I have no hesitation to entrust my 4-legged family that mean so much to me, to your care. I will recommend you to my puppy families. Thank you so much! Janet Uebelhard

we have tried Avon a couple of times now for important medial issues with our dogs, one was 1200.00 and we still ended up with a dead dog and no explanation to cause of death. the dental we had done to another dog was told 250. to 300.00 but ended up being over 500.00 with a phone call while the dog was put under with what felt like high pressure sales tactics to do more. the latest experience and what will be the last, after the surgery, which again had issues and the bill was no where near the estimate, they sold my wife special dog food, which is fine but the next day they called to tell us we need different food and the stuff they sold us the day before was not good enough. I question the ethics and business sense

We have 2 cats and 2 dogs (great dane and pit bull mastiff x) that we've been taking to Dr Bill since we've had them. He's a fantastic vet and his staff is always friendly and helpful. Recently our great dane had bloat. We rushed him to the vet and Dr Bill immediately prepped him for emergency surgery. He was operated on immediately and Dr Bill managed to save him. If Dr Bill wasn't as quick as he was our dog probably would not be here today. The office staff was kind enough to let us come and visit him once the anaesthesia wore off and were so kind through the whole ordeal. I have been taking my dogs to Avon since I moved here 4 years ago. The vet is knowledgeable, all of the staff are kind and everyone seems to really care about animals. I have a lab and she has had 2 surgeries performed at Avon. Her first surgery was a T.P.L.O for a ruptured CCL. Her knee was wrecked and she couldn't use her leg at all after the injury. Dr. Bill walked us through the different surgery options and helped us choose the one that was best for her. I did check with other vet practices to see if I could find a better price for the surgery, and I could not. She made a full recovery, and you can't tell the leg eas ever injured. The second one was an emergency surgery due to a full intestinal obstruction. She was so ill, and I was on maternity leave so money was tight. I thought I was going to have to put her down, but Dr. Bill worked out a plan that I could afford and saved her life. I am grateful to Avon for all that they have done for me and my pets. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else and I highly recommend this vet.

My sweet dog needed TPLO surgery and the wonderful staff at Avon took care of us right away. The procedure went smoothly and its a big deal. The staff were knowledgeable and gave me options on medication administration. They gave me liquid medications to administer to my dog by mouth which is far easier on the dog parent if your dog is anti-pill. My dog can sniff out a pill buried in meat, pill pocket,& peanut butter. So far her recovery is moving steadily forward in a positive direction. I recommend this animal hospital+++++. We've been with Avon for over 10 years and had used them for regular vaccinations, tumor removal and 2 separate successful ACL surgery's on our girl Mya. When the time came we brough her there for her final moments - the compassion we felt from all the staff was warming. My husband I had an emergency occur on a Sunday with our chocolate lab. After a walk in the park, we got home and he could not get up. We had never visited the Avon animal hospital before and upon a google search, they were one of the only hospitals open that day. The doctor on site was supposed to have the day off and ended up spending the entire day ensuring out dog was properly cared for. Our dog’s spleen had ruptured and it turned out that he had a huge mass, which needed to be removed. The staff on site that day were not only kind and caring, but they also did an amazing job of keeping my husband and I well informed. After the emergency surgery, they allowed us time to visit our pup. He was kept overnight and when we were able to take him home, they reached out to use several times to make sure he was doing well. We cannot thank them enough for the above and beyond care they provided. We will be taking our dog to this veterinarian office undoubtedly every time we need. Thank you doesn’t do justice for saving our sweet dog.

I have been going to Avon for about 6 years now. I appreciate the amazingly friendly and hardworking front desk people. It is clear to me that the # 1 priority is giving the necessary and appropriate care for Keeta my dog. I brought Keeta into the clinic and with what seemed to me to be a serious eye issue. I thought she was going blind. Dr. Baljit thoroughly examined her but at the time did not have the equipment to see into her cornea. So he brought an eye specialist into his clinic and discovered she had medial entropion and trichiasise and if he had not brought in the specialist I could not have afforded to treat her. She actually could have gone blind. He not only saved me so much $, but he and saved Keeta's eye sight too!!!! I am so grateful to Dr. Baljit and his assisting team for taking such good care of Keeta! Thank you Avon, because I really love my dog! LOL

Very disappointed with the care provided by the veterinarian at this location and because of that I have switched vets. The staff were all lovely, except for the actual veterinarian who I found to be extremely unprofessional. In the span of a 10 minute appointment he made fun of different races and implied that women are stupid. When i did not understand an instruction that he gave me, he spoke over me and rudely asked my boyfriend "does she speak english?". Overall, i do not recommend going here and I will not be returning.

Edit - Response to owner. You will not find my name, it is under my mother's. Is it wrong to give reviews regarding the many clinics I have been to? Good or bad. Thats... What reviews are? To dismiss my experience is just poor of you. Shameful. I felt it right to place my experience on here not to shamethe clinic as a whole, but just my experience that left me shocked. This didhappen some time ago, but this review is spurred by a more recent experiencefrom a friend, who did not feel good about his visit, though his visit wasregards to a much less serious case. A few years ago, a 3 year old family cat had rapidly lostweight and then stopped eating at a later point. She was under the short termcare of a family member who may have not noticed she was not well with theother cat in their house. Initially think she had lost weight from being moreactive, (chasing the new cat) but when a reduced weight rapidly became anextreme weightloss, then noticing a lack of appetite, we brought her into thenearest clinic. I then received a call from a frantic and bawling mother whowas crying because she was told she may have to put her down. Exam, bloodwork and hospitalization, yielded she hadlipidoses, a liver disease, possible cancer or lesions on the liver, was anemicand had jaundice. She was very weak, couldn’t even retract her claws properly.Eyes sunken. At this point, I had no issues with the veterinary care up untilthis point. I felt guilty and responsible, which to a very real extent we were,aside from the actual disease. The Dr. did say the condition is random but canbe triggered by stress. But generally found more in older cats. From here I pushedthe Dr. into possible options, treatment, extended care etc. I was in fightmode to save our 3 year old kitty. We would have done anything, no matter thecost. And we expressed this. To my dismay and shock, the Dr. was not hopeful.He did not say “there is a chance”, “she may make it”, “I’ve seen rare cases ofrecovery” or even “we’ll do what we can and hope for the best”. It was,consider humane euthanization. She most likely won’t make it. We could do anultrasound but she’s already so sick. This is where I was appalled. No hope. Nochance, just despair. I asked the Dr. if they were force feeding her. He saidno. I asked if she was stressed in this environment and may do better atdifferent home (away from the other cat). He said maybe. I asked if I couldtake her home, force feed her, and see what happens. He said I could try. Therewas no take home meds. Just a nutritional supplement and the poopy “criticalcare” food that some of my other cats don’t even eat. So we did, I took myweeping mother and our skinny little cat home, bought some other nice food,blended a “yummy” puree of food for her and hoped for the best. If she got anyworse, we’d bring her back. After 2 days of force feeding every 3 hours… shewas better! More alert. She greeted us when we came in. 4 days, she started GROWLINGat us when we would force feed her. HA! 7 days, she was eating on her own!Gaining weight, jumping on things. 2 months later, happy, healthy kitty. We dida follow-up at another clinic just for bloodwork. Her liver recovered well, sheseemed susceptible to stress, but otherwise was well on the mend and doingfine. I do not think the Dr. was wrong in his diagnoses, choice ofdiagnostic work, or general basic “professional” practice. The clinic wasclean, fairly well price and staff was friendly enough. I am appalled at theprognosis and lack of support we were given. The infliction of dismal emotionswe were exposed to. If I at that time, let my emotions get the better of me, ordidn’t stay true to my nature and be stubborn and hopeful, our cat would havebeen gone that day. And for that, I will never return to the hospital forservice and if requested, I have shared my experience. I am one to hope, and needed a vet to hope and fight with me, my family and tough little still living, wonderful cat. Recent bloodwork yeilds she is doing just fine as a near 6 year old cat.

I have been taking my older dog here (he is 3 now) ever since he was a puppy, and I recently got another puppy that got cherry eye at 6 months. I initially visited a different clinic for the diagnosis because Avon was closed, but I wasn't happy with the other clinic's service so I decided to take my puppy back here. My experience so far has been great- I felt like I could trust the vet for the surgery and as a regular client with my other dog, they were able to offer me an agreeable price and offered to accommodate my circumstances. All in all, I really recommend this place if you want to be sure that your dog is taken care of! I have had nothing but positive experiences with their staff and will continue to go here for future matters.

We would not have him with us today if it were not for his care. He was kind and compassionate, he knew how upset we were and he made sure to take time from his busy day to call us and update us on how Oscar was doing. The staff was also so kind and helpful. He is not one to sit and hold your hand all day. He is very busy helping many families, I think some people who posted a few of the other reviews forget that. His job is to help your pet.
