Beautiful clinic and friendly staff. Felt like I was at a business meeting and that they were trying to sell me on every treatment in the book. Every time someone talked to me they tried to upsell me. Went for a second opinion elsewhere and felt my feeling of being a dollar sign versus a human with a sick animal was confirmed. The staff may have talent or expertise but it seemed the priority was about closing the account with a bigger bill instead of prioritizing the best treatment for the health of our animal with our limited funds. Oh and also, the second opinion did not feel the 500$ of tests were necessary since the likelihood of it being one of the options suggested by the vet at this clinic were unlikely. Feeling very let down with my experience here. Hello, and thank you for your response. I am not sure how to reply to your answer. My name was misspelled on my cat's medicine. It’s our Vet clinic for the last 15 years, first with our cats and finally with a puppy. Only with our hedgehog we have to go to other places because they don’t take exotic animals. Poor service-lack of expertise lack of information/communication between the staff, when the staff does not take the time to study the file before they write it off as "routine".perhaps if the vet had spoke with the tech a little more in-depth we would have been able to get answers...if you love your pet..take them elsewhere...also trying to pin point the cause, i suggested it could be a diffuser that caused the issue, thier response was "i never heard of that" (this i found out on my own they are poison) and the vet i got my second opinion knew this right away...perhaps they are just too comfortable in their position. my cat eventually died,she was only just turned 4 years ...and their best answer was I don't know for 2500$ (always more tests,if they had spent the time reviewing options for testing instead of surgery immediately (which made her worse) for her condition and every med they gave was at my cost and nothing worked when I would say they did not work they said to keep giving them to her, it was obvious she was not taking the meds orally well but they did not listen or offer and alternative ...when I got a second opinion it was too late for my my cat..i wish I had gone to the vet i got my second opinion at....my cat may still be here..RIP MY GIRL????

As I start explaining it what’s wrong with my cat the secretary interrupts me to say they have no place and keep in mind they are open until 8pm and it’s only 0911hrs right now. In a slightly condescending tone she says, “sorry we can’t help you. You’ll have to look else where”. When I ask her where because there is not many places in LaSalle she then says there are 2 other places and hangs up all of the sudden. I have had pets for about 30 years, and I'm sorry that it took me so long to finally write a positive review about one of them. To be honest, I've never met a vet I didn't like, but Dr. James Rassi at the LaSalle Vet Clinic goes above and beyond. I took one of my cats recently who had some blood in her urine for an x-ray. When I entered the room with the x-ray scan on display, the technician was still in the room. I took advantage to ask her if the scans appeared normal. She said something to the effect of "well looks like she has some stones..." This freaked me out as I was terrified of my cat having bladder stones and needing an expensive & risky surgery. A minute later, Dr. Rassi walks in smiling. To be clear, he was wearing a mask, but his delight was visible regardless. In my panicked state, I snapped, "why do you look so happy? She has stones!" He quickly reassured me that in fact it was only kidney stones, something quite common with mature cats. No surgery would be needed, and she'll be fine with some additional vet food. After realizing my mistake and absorbing the good news, I was so thrilled that I could have hugged him. As mentioned earlier, I've had great vets for decades, but none quite as passionate and kind as Dr. Rassi. He is truly one of a kind and your pet would be lucky to be in his care.

This is an amazing vet clinic. My three kitties always leave feeling great, everyone seems to actually care (they remember us when we come back), and the techs are all so warm and lovely: Elyse in particular has seen my Kisses a few times and makes both of us feel at ease! I started coming here for a second opinion after one of my kitties started aggressively grooming and I'll never look back. Dre. Sweet is an absolute gem, Dres. Bourrelis and Faille I've seen less often but really impressed me with their thoroughness and willingness to listen and help. I immensely appreciate that they are aware of budget constraints - they are never pushy, never try to "up-sell" you on something that isn't necessary to your pet's care. They might offer an option that is costlier, but it's always very clearly an option - and if you can't right now, they are understanding. In emergencies, they seem to always have time without making you feel rushed, and in scheduled check-ups, they never seem stressed or pressed for time. There's very much a feeling of "this is our time together and I'm going to be 100% present for your pet". I've recently used their boarding service and was so impressed by the chart, and obvious care they put into looking after Vex. She's a kitty with anxiety, but she came home chilled and happy! I recommend them to any and all to take care of their furry companions. If I could give ten stars, I would. Thanks for everything you do.

I used to love this clinic and highly recommended it to family and friends. I do agree with a few of the other reviewers that they do try to upsell a lot which is a bit annoying but we can always decline what we don't want/need. What turned me off of this clinic firstly was that the phone number never works and when I've brought it to their attention several times, they just say that there's no issue with it. I even dialed the number right in front of the secretary and had her listen to the error message I received and they tried to blame me my phone (quite rudely I might add). Well I had already previously called my provider and confirmed the issue was not with my phone and an issue with their phone but they did not care. If I cannot contact your office, I cannot use your services. It is unrealistic to expect me to show up in person every time I want to book an appointment or check on my animal. I even complained by email and all I got was a three word response that had nothing to do with the complaint, it was completely ignored (and what prompted me to write this review honestly). Secondly, I received two estimates for the sterilization of my cat and three other prestigious vets were all $100 or more cheaper for the exact same procedure and medication. Example they charge $45 for the anti inflammatory while every other office I spoke to only charges $15 for the exact same medication. The rest of the fees were also significantly less elsewhere. So although I used to think highly about them, I very quickly realized that the service from staff and prices were much better elsewhere. It's too bad really that the receptionists are not more understanding and friendly instead of blaming the client and that they charge more than the norm it seems :( Ps: before you reply saying that I don't have a file with you, it's under Marleau. Replying to your response below: this phone issue is not just with my phone number. I even had my mother call from Ontario and a few friends here try and all had the same issue. Your receptionists not remembering doesn't surprise me because they all blew it off as nothing to begin with. And private industry or not, pricing does matter to clients and I'm not the only one who mentioned pricing in the reviews. Admitting that I made the right decision makes you look even worse if you think about it but clearly losing customers does not matter to you so good riddance!

Prendre soin de son animal de compagnie est autant une question de soins médicaux que de relation humaine, et cette clinique excelle abondamment dans les deux. I have already posted a review for this clinic before, but I am really thankful to them for my cat Prima! They have her on a weight loss program (we adopted her and she was overweight to begin with) and she's doing great! Thankful to the great vet techs, receptionists, and veterinarians! Our cat dinged her nose yesterday while we were out getting groceries. We weren't sure if we should bring her in to the emergency vet or book an appointment with her vets at this clinic, so we called in and the receptionist asked us to send in a photo of our cats nose injury and one of her vets called back shortly after to tell us the next steps in her nose recovery. All of the previous vets I've had for other pets (who passed away) at different vet clinics never had the option of sending in a photo of an injury and having it be assessed from a distance. We are super appreciative of the time Prima's vet took out of their busy schedule to tell us what her treatment and recovery should look like! Thank you so much! You know you picked a great veterinary practice when your pets' (aka childrens') veterinarians genuinely care for their well-being. Thank you everyone at Clinique Vétérinaire LaSalle Inc.!

I cannot rate better than 1 in 5 at a clinic that killed our cat. The other veterinarian who served us showed good empathy, however. (Original) La semaine dernière, on y est allé car notre chat avait des maux de ventre et il ne mangeait pas depuis 2 jours. La vétérinaire n'a pas offert la radiographie, elle préférait le garder sous observation une fin de semaine pour faire une échographie le lundi suivant. Finalement, après l'avoir gavé, ils ont vu que son intestin était bouché, le tout a fait un reflux qui s'est rendu dans les poumons, pour lui éviter des séquelles le restant de ses jours, la meilleure option restait l'euthanasie. On a eu d'autres bons services avec cette clinique, mais même si c'est une erreur humaine, et j'espère sérieusement que cette vétérinaire a appris sa leçon, cette erreur a tué le chat. Je ne peux donner une meilleure note qu'un 1 sur 5 à une clinique qui a tué notre chat. L'autre vétérinaire qui nous a servi a fait bonne preuve d'empathie, par contre.

Very nice staff, clean and beautiful office/ exam room; prices on point with other clinics (maybe slightly higher). Only gripe is that I made an appointment and they were late. I know in medical practice of any kind this is a common occurrence but still a pain when having other appointments later. Be sure to have extra time. Otherwise as a clinic they are pretty good. The vet technician and vet herself seemed to genuinely love animals (my cast at least).

Took dog in for possible early ear infection. With swab and med fees very high. Then they tried to suggest that I have his tartar removed as he was in serious need and extractions if they saw the need would be another few hundred determined while he was under??? at minimum $800 Another opinion elsewhere...a bit of tartar clean them regularly. Imagine my 5 year old dog with tooth extractions (who knows where that would have gone) for the rest of his life. Well it appears that I prefer the other opinion. If I could give this vet’s office 0 stars I would. If you love your pets, do not bring them here. First of all, they are not much cheaper than other places to begin with. You pay a lot of money for poor service and poor expertise. Last year we brought our cat here because she could not breathe. The vet took x-rays and told us she had water around her lungs. The vet drained her of the fluid and said that she would test the fluid to see if it is cancerous or any other sickness. Somehow, they found nothing. She did warn us that this could happen again. A year later, the cat filled up with water around her lungs again. We brought her to get drained, and another inexperienced vet took over my cat’s case. When she stuck the needle in her to drain the fluid, she stuck the needle in too deep. Air was released from the hole - she had punctured my cat’s lung. We did not know how serious this could be and the vet did not seem sure about what was wrong with the cat. After all, she is supposed to be the doctor and we as owners are supposed to rely on vets for their expertise. 5:30 a.m. the next day, my cat was coughing up water and suffocating. She died only moments later. Instead of telling us how in bad of a shape our kitty was, the vet took our money and sent us on our way with a very sick cat. It is not their fault the cat got sick, but I feel as if they did not handle my cat’s situation professionally. I am sure if we brought her somewhere else, she would be alive today.

Brought my 6 month old Shi-Tzu for an examination because I found some blood in her urine. My first thought was she is in heat but after calling the vet they said it may be an infection because she is too young to be in heat. They told me they can tell right away if she is in heat. If she is not in heat it may be an infection. So obviously I brought her because I was afraid she had an infection. The vet examined her and wasn't sure if she was in heat so she offered a urine test. She took the fog to another room to do the test, we waited 20 min to find out there was no infection. So the vet asked me to get an urine sample at home and bring it to them to analyze the urine. Now am I sure that they did the analysis there when the took the dog to another room and now they will find out if she has an infection with the urine sample that I will bring from home. All this to say that I paid 165.00$ and still don't know if she is in heat or she has an infection. Worst vet ever, I will never go back. They take people for fools. Just a money making business.

I had brought my cat in to be cremated after she had died. First time I called the lady on the phone she had told me it will cost $250 plus taxes. Made sure not to forget to mention that there were taxes included. I'm very low in money so I agreed with my sister to bury my cat. Unfortunately as I was taping up the box, it hit me way too hard and it didn't feel right to bury her somewhere random. So, I spoke to my mother and sister and we decided to split the 250 plus taxes. This came out to a total of 287$! Fine. It's for my cat, a part of my family for 17 years. I brought her to the vet, thinking it was the right thing to do, comforting my younger sister who was crying, telling her this is the right choice. The secretary began to ask if I wanted an urn. I denied because god knows how much that would cost. She had also advised me that my cat will be ready in 10 days. That I can pick up her ashes in 10 days! I had called in 10 days and the lady apologized that it was gonna take a bit longer and she'll call ME. It has now been 20 DAYS! 20 DAYS! And now I'm doubting my choice and wondering more on what they are doing with my cat! Have they cremated her? Or are they fiddling with her body, for study purposes! This cat has been a part of my family. We saved her and she lived a great life! This is not fair! I don't even know at this point if I will recieve the ashes of my cat. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BRINGING YOUR PET TO THIS VET! DO NOT!

We brought our dog Neve to be spayed in May 2021 and we were so impressed with the service. They called multiple times to tell us the status (when she went in to the OR, when she came out, how she was doing, etc). They used a technique to close her that does not involve stitches. So no bleeding to clean, no follow up visits to remove stitches. Neve came home the same day, and looked so happy when she came out to see us. The vet tech, who was there all day from the time we dropped her off until we picked her up, was so kind and positive and it just added great relief to know our little puppy was in good hands. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the final bill was higher than we expected - this is due to some add ons (not related to the spay) that we felt were necessary for our puppy - but the final bill still caught us by surprise.

I first came there to get quick service for one of my dogs. I had a great experience and got both my dogs teeth cleaned a few weeks later and let them perform all the tests. I went about a month later to ask in for their tick and fleas medication and someone very condescendingly called me to say they needed additional blood work to get their medication. I was surprised, as I own dogs for 20+ year and never had to have a blood test done before taking their yearly medication. Both my dogs are up to date in their shots and medication and are perfectly healthy. I tried to reason with them that they had seen them recently and they had bloodwork done but that wasn’t enough for them. I explained there is no way that my dogs could have heartworms, or other conditions as they are checked on regularly and have been vaccinated since being puppies but they refused to provide the meds unless I would perform bloodwork for both of my dogs. The person on the phone was very rude and snarky and I was shocked since I had such great service before. I switched back to my old vet after this. It takes longer to get an appointment, but at least they treat us with respect.

If I could get this establishment a 0 star I would. What they did is not reversable and completely unacceptable. My roomate didn't have the money to pay for his cat's operation. He gave her up for adoption and it was understood that if within 10 days she wasn't adopted she would be euthanized. It was sad but necessary. We however started a goFundMe page and had managed to put together over half of the money needed for the operation. He gave her up on the friday the 5th of april. On the following monday (the 8th) he went to tell them that he was in the end going to keep the cat and do the surgery. However he learned that she had already been put down because someone came in, judged she wouldn't be adopted and put her down the saturday. She wasn't even in their care for 24hours! I would not recommend anyone to deal with a clinic that flat out lies to their patients and clearly doesn't give a crap about the animals in their care if they are willing to put them down without even trying to find them a home when it was what had been agreed upon. I highly encourage anyone reading this to look elsewhere if you have any love for your animals. All of us here have lost a cat we loved due to their lack of human decency. Please dont bring your animals here.

I don't have a file here but my cat recently passed away and I've called quite a few vets to see what services they offer. This is the first place someone actually acknowledged I lost a pet and gave their condolences. It's not something I would complain about specifically from the other places but it was definitely something I remarked as I was calling different places. Pascale was very compassionate and patient over the phone, ready to confirm the answers to the questions I asked if she wasn't 100% sure. Also noticed I was an Anglo speaking French and switched back and forth from French and English with me which I appreciated alot. Anyway being a humanbeing goes a long way and so thank you very much I will be bringing my beautiful boy to make sure he is in good hands during his last visit
