I was referred to this clinic by my Breeder where I got my chows from. Morgan at Elite Chows. She had one of her Chows “Popov” treated at this clinic for entropion. I trusted her referral and was excited to bring my Chow Chow to this clinic because I have been having issues with her eyes. My experience was the least pleasurable. From the moment I arrived I was greeted by a female employee that was standing outside a chain linked fence which was sectioned off with with chairs, I am assuming this was due to covid restrictions. I was standing about ten feet away from the facade of the clinic and was not allowed to go in.... that’s fine. I kindly told her I have a appointment at 3:45 I was told that I was suppose to call the clinic from outside when I arrived. I wasn’t aware of this because I received a confirmation call the day before from the clinic and they never told me anything or gave me instructions regarding this. It was also my first time going to this clinic and I drove from very far in traffic from Lile Bizard. They also told me that I was supposed to of checked my emails to receive these details on how to proceed when I get to the clinic. I booked my appointment way over a month ago so I do not recall being told this at all and secondly I do not check my emails daily. So I was going by what they told me on the phone when they called me to confirm my appointment. No one mentioned this to me. With that being said , the girl told me to wait and she went inside. As I stood there with my mask on with my dog, a man came out of the clinic yelling at me saying that I have to take my phone and call! Well I didn’t have a phone with me....I said well, I didn’t know, so I’m here now, what can I do? He kept yelling at me pointing his finger for me to leave and “ GO GET A PHONE AND CALL!” Basically telling me to leave and talking to me like I’m a child. Absolutely no respect this man has for his clients. Then he proceeds to tell me “ DO YOU KNOW ABOUT COVID?!” You can’t come in here and then proceeded to throw his arms up in the air and curse at me with saying “JESUS CHRIST!” He aggressively walked back in the clinic throwing a temper tantrum and left me standing there with a audience of clients watching me. I was never so embarrassed and humiliated in my life. I was in SHOCK and totally infuriated while almost in tears because I didn’t really understand what just happened! I left and never was able to have my dog seen and trust me after that experience I would never ever let him treat my Chow. Bottom line is, I didn’t get check my email and no one told me I was suppose to call. It was a human error and I was treated like garbage. After reading all of the reviews, the good and the bad, I see that my experience compares with all of the other negative reviews. The problem with this clinic is not the rules and regulations nor the staff but a character flaw of the owner . This so called doctor needs to take a course in etiquette!....and learn how to treat people respectfully. I am surprised that he is still practising and has not lost his license yet with this type of behaviour. Completely unprofessional! I am a business owner of 17 years and I have never once treated any of my clients like this! NEVER would I dream of it. No matter what the rules are Covid or no Covid. He thinks he can treat people like this because he’s the only ophthalmologist in Montreal, arrogance at its finest. I’d rather drive to Toronto and pay double the price than to deal with the likes of him! He may be good at what he does but that NEVER gives you the right to be disrespectful even in this difficult time, there is NO excuse for this. I WILL NOT be referring this clinic to anyone in the future as I am extremely active in the community and on social media. What a awful experience!

If not for the heart murmur, my 12.5 year old poodle could have had his cataracts removed but today he is 14.5 and still blind and doing great, thanks to Dr. Olivier and his team. So, recently Elmo’s lens moved to the back of the eye and is now sitting on the retina. With no signs of tearing, scratching, crying, barking, we follow the doctors orders and continue on with our daily routines and look forward to going back for another follow up soon. Credit goes to Dr. Roch at the Taschereau Veterinary Clinic for referring us to the Opthalmo Veterinary Clinic. We are so happy to have these folks looking after Elmo, they are the salt of the earth.

My 15 year old cat, Baby Girl, severely scratched both corneas. We took her to the Anjou veterinarian hospital, on December 31st, 2018, where we were advised to make an urgent appointment here. We were seen on Jan., 8th. The experience here was AMAZING, to say the least. The receptionist is so very warm and welcoming. We didn't wait long to see Dr. Franck Olivier, who after doing some tests, explained to us, in full detail, what the results were. He prescribed antibiotic drops, ointment, lube and a painkiller, in the hopes of having to avoid surgery for her. We scheduled a follow-up for today, January 25th at 9am. I'm very pleased that her right eye's completely healed. Treatment will continue for her left eye & we're to see him again in 3 month's time to re-evaluate. I'm must say, that his assistant and the nurses are as patient and caring as the Doctor, himself. They've shown more care and compassion to my cat, than I've seen given to humans...which says a lot, about this Doctor and his team! I would recommend Dr.Olivier and his wonderful team, in a heartbeat, anytime!! THANK YOU!!

The experience was unbelievable! I waited close to an hour with my 9 month old and my husband who took time off of work just to be there. I told Mr. Ollivier that we had been waiting a long time but before I could say anything else he screamed "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU CAN GET OUT OF HERE! I AM THE ONLY OPHTHALMOLOGIST IN MONTREAL!" He yelled right in front of my child! My husband looked at me and said let's get out of here, he's insane. As we waited for an Uber outside I reentered the establishment to say that I would be reporting him, to which he hit me with his plastic doctor's note pad, shattering it! Guess who's being taken to court! The whole experience was truly UNBELIEVABLE. I have never seen a professional be so unprofessional.

I really appreciated fiding this place! Everyone at the clinic from the receptionnists to the technician to the vet himselg were absolutely wonderful! The staff took the time to listen to me explain our issue, they were incredibly compassionate and while I was waiting (there was a dedicated spot outside to wait where we were served water and coffee) I noticed how every single individual that brought their pet were handled with the utmost care and delicacy. You don't often see that anymore! And therefore i would highly recommend this place if ever your pet is suffering from eye infections or anything related to ocular issues.

Dr. Olivier is a very nice doctor that after examining our Chihuahua met with us personally and explained in full detail his diagnosis and his medical recommendation for his condition. As we were driving home from the clinic, we received a follow up call to ask us if we were satisfied with the consultation and if we had any additional questions that we might have forgotten to ask. Dr. Olivier provided full detailed documentation of his diagnosis in writing and asked us to keep him appraised of our Chihuahua’s condition within three weeks and not to hesitate to contact him if his condition worsens. Je n'ai pas trop l'habitude de commenter les commerces sur internet mais je fais une exception pour les vétérinaires car je sais que dans ce milieu, il est difficile de trouver des gens de confiance qui ne cherchent pas à maximiser leur profit sur les consultations de leurs clients. Bien sûr, avec le tas de diplômes qu'il possède, les services de ce vétérinaire spécialiste sont un peu plus dispendieux que la clinique habituelle, mais malgré tout, avec toutes les complications que vous éviterez, (il a décelé plusieurs choses sur mon chien et m'a donné un tas de trucs pour éviter la dégradation), vous épargnerez beaucoup de soucis à votre animal et par le fait-même, quelques dollars à long-terme. Ce n'est pas donné à tout le monde de pouvoir donner les meilleurs soins à ses animaux et quand on trouve d'honnêtes vétérinaires, il est bon de le souligner. I dont know who the hell this doctor thinks he is but I have never been treated so badly in my life. I explained that I lost my last cat to cancer and spent 5 grand trying to save him therefore money was a bit of an issue for me and he yelled at me threatened to kick me out of his office. in retrospect I should have left without paying because he never even explained the diagnosis he gave me, so I spent over 200 bucks to get a diagnosis for my new cat that I then had to google myself. This guy obviously thinks very highly of himself but his attitude towards worried people with no money is disgusting.

I am very upset about the way my cat was treated over the weekend, I should clarify that it was the first time I went to their clinic, I thought I was dealing with professionals but I guess I was not. When I made the appointment by phone, they told me that due to covid only one person could enter the consultation but to my surprise, when I arrived at the "clinic" there was a tent outside where the pet owners had to wait and only the pet is allowed to enter, owners were not even knowing what is happening to our pets inside. For all animals it is even more stressful being inside an unknown place being examined and handled by strangers without seeing or hearing their owners, they don’t understand what is happening. I paid $261 not knowing if they really did what they were supposed to do. After the consultation, my cat is not like before, according to the doctor my cat was not in any pain, but after the consultation, my cat is in pain and cries almost all the time. If this is the first time you are going to take your pet to this clinic think twice about it because you will not see what they will do to them. It is ridiculous that today being November 2021, most fully vaccinated people with a valid vaccination passport still take such strict measures as these. Are you really willing to take your pet to an unknown place without being able to enter with them?

My dog had a surgery to remove a growth on her eyelid. I found the group to be inflexible. When there was a complication, they did not seem interested in dealing with it and even commented that it may not be related to the surgery. I was on a Friday. I called at 10am. They asked for more details and suggested to be seen ASAP. Knowing this, and having done the surwgery you would have expected that they would call back and set up an appointment. They waites until they were closing and gave me some phone nnumbers. They basically left me flapping in the wind. When challenged, they become aggressive and tried to make you feel like I was being unreasonable. Dr Ollivier may be a good surgeon but the set up of his office is a lot of gloss with not as much substance as there should be. I hope my dog will be ok. Disappointed. Addendum Since this post they have reached out to explain their role in this kind of situation. They seem to take pride in their work. So that is a positive point.

The clinic is very well decorated, and we were met by Dr. Ollivier, who was just headed out the door to clean off the snow on the sidewalk. He showed us around the clinic, offered us refreshments, and explained in detail what the procedure would involve, and how long it would take. The surgery went off without a hitch, and before long I was able to pick up my dog, along with detailed instructions for care and follow up. Everyone we met at the clinic was absolutely terrific, Dr. Ollivier, Gabrielle, and Louise most notably since they were the people I spoke to most often. Everyone speaks English with great proficiency, and Dr. Ollivier's French is textbook, a pleasure to hear. If your pet has eye problems, do yourself and your pet a favour and take them here!!!

J’ai pensé à ce moment-là que ce commentaire n’était pas très scientifique ..... Le traitement a été suivi tel qu’indiqué pour 1 mois et demi et je suis allé au rendez-vous de suivi. Les yeux de mon chien ce sont améliorés et pendant cette période j’ai pu régler son problème de diarrhée chronique, allergies alimentaires, qui le faisait enfler de partout. Quant à lui, le vétérinaire m’a prescrit de continuer le traitement et les suivis assez onéreux, et vu que la santé de mon chien s’est grandement améliorée en général, j’ai décidé de ne pas poursuivre le traitement pour les yeux sèches de mon chien, et de lui en redonner des goutes au besoin car il me restait du médicament prescrit à la maison. Bien que nous nous connaissions pas du tout moi et ce vétérinaire, et que nous ayons une simple relation marchande, il m’a répondu « Tu ne vas pas revenir me voir en pleurant si la santé de ton chien se détériore », sur un ton arrogant et condescendant (je leur ai donné 500$ pour une heure et demie de travail ça ne lui ai pas effleuré l’esprit le pauvre). Il m’a dit de nouveau ça fait 20 ans que je fais ça et il ne semblait pas vouloir que la secrétaire modifie ma facture et la pointant avec le doigt dans les airs. Ça en dit long sur comment ce type estime sa clientèle ……. Et en plus ce personnage se promène sans masque à l’intérieur de son commerce et parlent à ses collègues de beaucoup trop proches quand eux, elles portent le masque. I am not the person to usually rate on google, however, I've decided to share my experience at the clinic because I know, at least for myself, the concept of vet eye specialist was new for me. When my vet told me to visit the Ophtalmo Clinic to make sure my dog didn't have any eye complications, I was stumped. With a recent graduate with limited budget, I knew I had to take him to get him checked, but I was really REALLY worried about the bill. However, when I had called to ask about pricing, the receptionist was genuinely kind to understand my situation and explain the possible approximation of fees. When I made the appointment and went to the clinic, there was a bit of wait, but I realized that is because the vet wanted to be thorough and not rushed with his appointments. The vet, the technicians and the receptionist were very present, making sure we felt comfortable at the clinic, with all the procedures they were about to do. They really take their time in making sure you understand the condition of your pet as accurately as possible. In the end, the bill wasn't much different from the receptionist's approximation, and my regular visits to vets (the case may vary, as my dog did two tests but then again, thats how much it usually costs in regular vets). Overall, my experience was beyond expectation and pleasant, thanks to the staffs. Also, great aesthetics in the clinic!

We were nervous to put her through surgery and all that comes with it. Dr. Ollivier examined her and advised us that she is a good candidate for the surgery. He was clear, informative, enthusiastic and put us at ease. We decided to book the surgery right away. On the day of surgery, Dr. Ollivier invited us to download an app to get updates about her throughout the whole process as we couldn't enter the premises during covid. The handoff was safe and easy. We received messages and photos which put our minds at ease. The communication was clear and concise. The follow up appointment went quickly and smoothly as well. Dr. Ollivier was controlling the glaucoma with eye drops, unfortunately after 5 months his left eye had to be removed. We knew we had found a great clinic from my first interaction with them over the phone. Contrarily to most places these days, they took their time to talk to me. They listened to me as I explained the issues we were having with one of our dogs and were very fast to accomodate an appointment for us on a Saturday, seeing that we would be coming from Ottawa. The first appointment was great, the staff, the technicians and Dr. Ollivier are the nicest persons in the world. They will treat your dog as if they were their own dog. After the appointment they called me to explain the diagnostic and the options, and Dr. Ollivier himself went above and beyond to find a solution for one of my dog's issues that was not really under his specialties as an ophtalmologist (she had several masses on her ears). The surgery was booked within a few days and two days prior to that I spoke with Anais, who reassured me our dog would be receiving the best attention and care possible during the surgery, from at least 6 or 7 different people which included 2 vets (Dr. Ollivier and a colleague who would work on the ear issues). Knowing that made us feel very comfortable with a situation that is always scary to any dog owner. The surgery could have not gone better - everything happened in about 1 hour, they kept our dog until the end of the day to ensure she was doing well, and she left basically as if nothing had happened to her! During the surgery, as everything progresses, they keep in touch with you to let you know what is happening and how the dog is doing through an app where they even send pictures of the procedures! That was AMAZING! We are deeply thankful to Dr. Olliver, Dre. Boutin, Dre. Nuzzi, all the technicians and the staff (Anais, Gabrielle, Kelly, Louise, Elizabeth, Maya, Thy and Marion) - I truly mean EVERYONE as I probably dealt with all of them at some point during this whole time. To all of you, a big THANK you again, you can't imagine what you have done for our dog and for us, we are all a much happier family because of you!

Dr. Ollivier and his staff are incredible. My dog was suffering from an eye ulcer and within minutes after bringing him to the clinic, he was feeling much better! The first time, we had asked they remove the hairs that were scratching his eye. Dr. Ollivier advised that the hair may grow back again, and they did. My dog got a surgery done. They took good care of him, made sure he was recovered and well after the operation before releasing him, and followed up the next day. The staff and receptionist updated me throughout the day and sent me photos for reassurance. A follow up appointment will be done. Not only did they take great care of my dog, they took great care of me - explaining patiently all the steps that were taken and needed to be taken and explained how to give my dog the medications that were prescribed. Dr. Olivier and his staff have helped us with our two bulldogs on multiple occasions, always in a friendly and professional manner. When an issue has arisen, short-notice appointments have been made available. When a follow up is required, they've found a way to squeeze us in. When an evaluation has resulted in only minor concerns, they've been kind enough to reduce the price of the visit. All in all, I can't recommend them enough. Our experience with Dr. Olivier and his staff was nothing short of stellar. Our Boston terrier had to have one eye removed due to severe glaucoma two years ago. There was a cataract removed from the existing eye, then six months later glaucoma attacked her good eye. We treated her with drops for two years then things took a turn for the worst. Dr. Olivier had to remove the eye and she is now completely blind. It is to our wonder how well she has recovered and adapted to her situation. Best veterinary clinic around. My cat has had eye issues since he was a kitten and no vet we'd ever visited could figure it out. One visit here and they told us the exact issue, and were very honest about the chances of "solving" it. Intake was very organized and instructions were clear, and my cat Hannah was seen promptly. The staff were very welcoming, and I know they took good care of my girl. The receptionist (Louise) was extremely helpful on the phone with advice and support even before I got to the clinic. The technician (Christina) was exceptional at calming my nervous/aggressive dog. In all my years of going to the vet, she was the best I have ever seen with my dog! Dr Ollivier was professional, knowledge and friendly, taking the time to speak to us after the examination. The office has a trendy and calming decor, great for dogs and their owners. I found the rates better than DMV. Overall, I recommend this vet if you have any concerns about your pets eyes.

They say STRESS can kill you, that’s what can happen if you worry about your pet, because you didn’t get the right diagnoses for your pet. Our chihuahuas was mis-diagnosed with cataracts. Then we met Dr Olivier, our 11 years old did not have cataracts, but was aging normally. To be fair our Vet was not an ophthalmologist and did recommend Dr Olivier. After her exam, he took the time to explain our pets diagnosis with layman’s terms and it relieved all our concerns. We recommend Dr Olivier and if your pet has eye problems, an exam would probably diagnose what’s wrong and provide solutions and give you piece of mind, as it did for us.

Took our 140lb baby to DMV where she was diagnosed with a mass on her eyelid. They recommended Dr Ollivier. I googled him - he is the best ophthalmologist for pets. Appointment was hard to get, but when I finally did, he was professional, kind and gentle with my pup. Today she had surgery in both eyes- once again, they were understanding to her needs and how she gets stressed out while waiting around. All went well and I hope post op recovery goes well too. He was blind, one eye was scarred shut and the other was covered completely, since he was a few weeks old. It was not known if he still had eyeballs behind. Since the first visit, I have been reassured and comforted by the care of Roscoe by the warm team at the Ophtalmo clinic. We made sure everything was explained to me and I really appreciated the empathy of the whole team. Dr Ollivier explained to me that it would be better to wait until Roscoe's 1 year before doing exploratory surgery to see if he had eyeballs or not, so that his immune system would be stronger. Roscoe was comfortable and had no problem not seeing. There was an unpredictable part due to her eyes being closed, but I was made clear to update frequently and keep them updated on any changes. Over a period of 3 months we exchanged numerous emails, Roscoe's eyes were swelling a lot and I was often worried. I was called back every time to ask me more questions, reassure me, explain myself and adapt the rest of his treatment. Around her 6 months, I found myself in the veterinary hospital because Roscoe was bleeding from one of her eyes. It was an abscess that infected. I contacted Dr Ollivier and he confirmed that we should do the surgery now. I was so anxious, but the staff reassured me by sending me pictures of Roscoe throughout the day. You can't imagine the feeling I had to receive a photo of Roscoe with two beautiful eyes open! Again, throughout the recovery the team was available for every question. The follow-up was rigorous with several visits to ensure that everything was going well. Roscoe is almost 1 year old and his eyes are looking great! He loves making eye contact with us and can now do his Indiana Jones with even less restraint! The recognition and respect I have for the entire team at Ophtalmo is limitless, not only for what they have done for Roscoe, but also greatly for making me feel safe throughout a process. very uncertain, stressful and tricky. (Original) Dr. Ollivier et son équipe ont redonné la vue à mon chaton, qui est né avec une infection rhino/calicivirus agressive. Il était aveugle, un oeil était cicatrisé fermé et l'autre était recouvert complètement, depuis qu'il avait quelques semaines. On ne savait pas s'il avait toujours des globes oculaires derrière. Depuis la première visite j'ai été rassurée et réconfortée de la prise en charge de Roscoe par l'équipe chaleureuse de la clinique Ophtalmo. On s'est assuré que tout me soit bien expliqué et j'ai beaucoup apprécié l'empathie de toute l'équipe. Dr Ollivier m'a expliqué que ce serait préférable d'attendre au 1 an de Roscoe avant de faire une chirurgie exploratrice pour voir s'il avait des globes oculaires ou pas, pour que son système immunitaire soit plus fort. Roscoe était confortable et n'avait aucun problème à ne pas voir. Il y avait une partie imprévisible dû au fait que ses yeux étaient fermés, mais on m'a bien précisé de donner des nouvelles fréquemment et de les tenir au courant de tous changements. Sur une période de 3 mois nous avons échangé nombreux courriels, les yeux de Roscoe gonflaient beaucoup et j'étais souvent inquiète. On m'a rappelée à toutes les fois pour me poser plus de questions, me rassurer, m'expliquer et adapter la suite de son traitement. Autour de ses 6 mois, je me suis trouvée à l'hôpital vétérinaire parce que Roscoe saignait d'un de ses yeux. C'était un abcès qui a infecté. J'ai contacté Dr Ollivier et il a confirmé que nous devrions faire la chirurgie maintenant. J'étais tellement anxieuse, mais le personnel m'a rassurée en m'envoyant des photos de Roscoe au courant de la journée. Vous ne pouvez pas vous imaginer le sentiment que j'ai eu de recevoir une photo de Roscoe avec deux beaux yeux ouverts! Encore une fois, tout au long de la convalescence l'équipe a été disponible pour chaque question. Le suivi a été rigoureux avec plusieurs visites pour s'assurer que tout se passe bien. Roscoe a bientôt 1 an et ses yeux vont très bien! Il adore faire un contact visuel avec nous et peut maintenant faire son Indiana Jones avec encore moins de retenue! La reconnaissance et le respect que j'ai pour toute l'équipe chez Ophtalmo est sans limite, non seulement pour ce qu'ils ont fait pour Roscoe, mais aussi grandement pour m'avoir fait sentir en sécurité tout au long d'un processus très incertain, stressant et délicat.
