I take my dogs here every so often when the need arises for checkups, vaccinations, emergencies, etc. The staff are friendly and helpful. Its nice to have the pharmacy as well as the pet store right on site as well. The only reason I didn't assign a 5 star rating is because the parking is quite limited and can be cramped. Ospika Pet Supply next door can trim your dogs toenails with no appointment necessary, if you care to do a one-stop shop!

This veterinarian clinic is apparently for “existing clients only,” but they will happily serve existing clients with new pets. But new pet owners are apparently expected to allow their pets to languish without care. The receptionists seem to lack any empathy for people with sick animals looking for help. The fact that they accept new pets from existing clients suggests that they have the capacity to handle more pets and choose to let pets of new clients suffer. I would think a veterinary clinic would be staffed by animal lovers but these people don’t seem to lose any sleep. Their website also makes no mention of the clinic being exclusive to existing clients.

This place is an absolute joke! First our dog was literally dying and they refused to help us unless we gave them over $150 which because we couldn't get the money until a couple days later he got way worse and had to be put down! We got him cremated and picked up his remains just to find out THEY GAVE US THE WRONG DOG REMAINS INTENTIONALLY!!!! They purposely gave us the wrong remains because they weren't organized enough and didn't know which was which so just gave us someone else's and hoped it was the right one!!! What is wrong with you people you are sick and this place should be shut down!!!!

My little chihuhua is my baby.i was so scared of losing her.shes born blind n used of a quiet home....because she wasn't eating or drinking n her fever not breaking for me to bring her home to be with me. The office knew I'm hearing impaired...masks are hard for me because I rely 90% on lip Reading.they would uncover to talk to me. They were gentle with my lil girl and her surgery was great. Dr Swift and Cass' were amazing help and took great care of our little girl who is now forever to be known as a "Trash Dog" (since she decided to eat trash. LOL.) We felt at ease and comfortable with the level of care recieved, in spite of being very concerned for our dogs well being. This was well after hours and Dr Swift was, as her name says, swift about taking care of us and the other patients in the building. We are hopeful that the course of action for at home is enough to help our girl pass the yucky stuff she ate, but in the event she has further issues, Dr Swift was very helpful and informative and genuinely cares. We are hopeful that we won't have to return, but should we need to for further assistance, we feel that Dr Swift and her team are the best suited to tend to our dogs needs. We had an emergency with my big dog. It was after hours and on a long weekend. They took her in and fixed her up, kept her until Monday (this happened on a friday) she received great care. Also they cut my guinea pigs nails haha.

I was taken into a room around 11:40am and saw the vet around noon. The vet apologized for the wait even though I felt they had been more than accommodating for me. They will explain everything to you in detail and make sure you understand the options open to you. Right next door is their feed store which is excellent as well. So sorry that after all these years of their service for my dogs I have to say the last bet to see my chihuahua totally misdiagnosed. She couldn't find anything wrong with him and gave him back to me to take home. He had X-rays which for an added $130. She was sending away to be read. He struggled for breath after his last appointment t and I found him dead this morning on his little pillow in the living room. Just crushed.. I asked her if he was going to expire and she smiled and said no.

In march of this year (2021) we found a lump on my dogs back, we took Crash to the Ospika Animal Hospital as years ago they had treated my old kitty Kaira with a tooth infection. The vets were very good to Crash, being nice and soothing when they had to take samples. When the test results came back it showed that his lump was cancer. Immediately surgery was scheduled and they took care of everything, and Crash recovered quickly. I also now have a kitten Peach who gets great care from the vets at Ospika to. Absolutely grateful to the staff for keeping my furbabies as healthy and loved as possible.

The swift actions of the team of Doctors that came in at 10:30pm on a Wednesday night saved Lukas’s life. He had a twisted stomach (GDV) and after a 4.5 hour surgery he pulled through. Our female and male had tied and for some reason we are not aware of they broke early. When that happened our female’s uterus was torn, with massive bleeding and trauma to the surrounding tissues. My wife and I were both afraid we were going to loose our poor girl. We took her into Ospika Animal Hospital on an after hours emergency visit, the Vet Dr. Kim Swift and the Vet Technician Hailey Canning were amazing, they checked our girl. They took her in for emergency surgery to try and save her. Unable to find the major bleed Dr. Swift called us to confirm to spay Our girl. Telling us she would contact us when it was completed. Later on in the night Dr. Swift called to let us know she was out of surgery and our girl Ella was doing OK. The spay was a success but we’re still unable to locate the main bleed so they packed the area to stem the blood believing it would clot. Twice the next day we were contacted with updates on Ella, both times she was doing better. Dr. Carly Legault discharge Ella that afternoon after explaining everything that we would need to do with our little girl to keep her safe during her recovery. Both Dr. Kim Swift and Dr. Carly Legault prescribed medication to keep Ella health and as pain free as possible. We cannot express enough how much we appreciate the help and the love provided to Ella and my Wife and myself. Make sure you pay attention to your receipts and what services you're scheduled for..... Had my puppy there the first week of April after I got him for all his shots, an exam, microchip etc and was very happy with the experience and how they treated both myself and my dog. Skip ahead to late July and I stopped in when I was buying dog food next door and asked when he needed to come back for the next round of shots and was told he wasn't due yet but they would schedule me for Aug 10, we went in for the appointment and I was told he was all up to date when we left. Received a call last week telling me he was again due for another shot, I asked why if he was just there and I was told he needed one more. We went in today and when I asked if I could ask some questions before he went in the office manager wouldn't even look up from her computer, she told me it was my fault because I waited too long to being him back so the first round of shots didn't count, I also had to pay the exam fee again to give him the shot as the vet wouldn't do it without an exam. I refused the "annual exam" as it is unnecessary to have an annual exam three times in less then six months and had to ask both vet techs to just do the shot and nothing else. He was taken in the back and given to me a couple minutes later and they charged me for an exam anyway.... It may have just been $57 for me today but I'm betting they do this to countless customers and are making a very good amount of money off the unnecessary return visits and exam fees charged to trusting customers who don't ask questions. I will not be back and recommend others check their invoices for past visits and take their pets elsewhere.

I say this is one of the best pet care places. since small this is where my dog a shittzu/bichon has been taken care of there and will be for as long as she is alive. questions are always answered. My dog jumped and broke all her toes in her front paw at 7:25 am and by 8:30 she was seen immediately as soon as we had gotten there. My little dog had a couple hot spots and has also been seen with little wait time. The prices are not so outrageous the care is fast and courteous. the meds are ready with little waiting time The grooming shop inside the same building is good. prices are very good.. Their store is quite competitive and offers good quality items and pet foods.

Our beautiful seventeen year old cat Smokey had to be put to sleep as her lungs were one eighth the size they should have been. She had fluid surrounding her lungs and she was too old to have surgery to remove the fluid. We had one last day with her at home and brought her in to be put down and it was the worst experience of our and Smokeys life. They took her to the back room to put the intravenous on and we heard the most horrible noises from her. Instead of bringing her back to us to calm her down they overpowered her and brought her back to us completely covered with a towel and dropped her on the floor gasping for breath bleeding from the mouth with a glazed expression on her poor little face. The vet tech left the room and we tried to calm her down. She was beyond calming so we called for help to put her down immediately to stop her pain. The main veterinarian Carly Legault was very apologetic but it didn’t help our poor little frail Smokey. Thankfully she passed soon after but my 2 kids and myself were all in shock. We stayed and hugged her hoping somehow she could hear us I would not recommend this animal hospital unless they keep your pet in the room with you while they do the entire procedure to stop this incredibly devastating experience to happen to you and your beloved pet.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! If you do PLEASE seek a second opinion! I was very upset with my pets care from Ospika Animal Hospital. I took my dog in due to recurrent seizures that came on suddenly. I spent hundreds of dollars on the initial visit, and blood tests and a follow up. The result was that my dog was healthy and nothing was wrong, and I should keep an eye on her. Two weeks later the seizures were still happening and I took my dog to PG Vet for a second opinion. They listened to her heart (Ospika did not do this) and I was told her heart was extremely off beat and I would have to get an X-Ray immediately. It turned out my dog had a tumor on her heart and had to be put down right then and there. She was in so much pain the whole time and I don't think I can ever forgive the vet at Ospika for over looking my dogs condition.

My cat was brought in due to an emergency. I first had difficulty contacting anyone but was able to go through the triage video call on their website which was a little difficult to find but once I did, it worked well and the vet I was talking with determined she needed to come in right away. She was cared for very quickly and very well and thankfully recovered. However, the vet on the video call mentioned there would be a $250 Emergency fee which I expected however, I was charged $175 Emergency call fee plus a $175 Emergency Technician fee plus all the other expenses. With emergency fee's being $350 before any treatment or assessment fee's I find this amount very disappointing. The final bill is a stretch but I know that many people would have let their pet suffer due to being unable to cover this very high cost which is terribly unfortunate. If I couldn't have afforded this for my pet, she would have continued to suffer and be in so much pain. I feel $350 is very unfair for a total emergency fee.

Then the staff was a little rude when I asked when my dog would be seen. Our dog had a couple of seizures which was new to us. I called near the end of the day and they told us to come in. It was reassuring to the the vet talk to us about it and helped us relax. Thanks. So after our female shepherd had her seizures as mentioned above her brother from another litter had 3 major seizures lasting nearly 5 minutes each in 8 hours. We ended up calling the on call emergency vet which happened to be Dr. MacLellan. She was great and gave him meds so he could rest for the reminder of the night. The next morning we needed to go for blood work for him and we saw Dr. McLachlan. She too was amazing and was able to answer most of our questions and the hard one of what she would do if her animal was diagnosed with epilepsy. She gave us a honest answer about the way his seizures occurred and severity which helped us make our decision. Thank you to both Dr. MacLellan for coming to the clinic at 3 am and to Dr. McLachlan for assisting us the next day.
