I have become "Vet Shy" through the years. I end up with huge bills for virtually nothing. My older dog and I were out for a walk yesterday and she was clearly not feeling well. Another dog walker told me how amazing LeGallais was and I came home and booked an appointment. They were amazing, treated my dog so well, and was 100% fair with prices and services. This vet was very good at one time but now no more. There is a lot of staff turnover and they put money ahead of the health of your pet. They even charge you for the disposal of the syringes that you return for disposal. Definitely looking for another vet.

My family has been going to LeGallais for years and they have always been the best of the best. Dr. Doug knows his stuff and always gave us such an amazing experience in the hard times of having a sick pet. Recently I have gotten married and now have my own dogs and Dr. Aidin Shojaeetabrizi was the most professional and kind veterinarian, he made for such a great experience for my babies first time at the vet. Everyone here has a lot of experience and they put the care for your animal first.

In response to Purple Bunny. I think that your review is inaccurate. I have been going to LeGallais Vet for quite some time now, and have seen all 3 vets. I highly doubt that Dr. Nora felt your cats kidney and thought it was a tumor, maybe the kidney was enlarged and she thought that there could be a tumor on it... I also HIGHLY doubt that you were quoted $2000 for a tooth cleaning, I have had my dogs teeth cleaned and it was no where near that. As for the receptionists, maybe they are happy, maybe they like their job, and maybe, just maybe they have a good attitude on life, unlike you, who has something negative to say about everything, really? you gave McDonalds a 1 star because it was OVER PRICED? Come on, its McDonalds.. Anyways, Legallais Vet is an EXCELLENT vet clinic, the Dr.'s are all really nice and helpful, and my dog LOVES going there. Before you take Purple Bunnys comment in to account, please look up her other ratings for other busniesses to show her credability. I highly recommend this place.

My precious sphynx cats Hades recently passed away and Dr. Janice was really there for me during this awful time. He was originally brought to the emergency vet and she was in touch with them the whole time he was there. When I got the news that it was a quality of life situation, Dr. Janice allowed me to bring Hades to LeGallais so I could say goodbye there. I was in absolute hysterics. I can’t imagine how hard it is to watch someone be so upset about their pet and she remained so kind and sweet the whole time. She even ran extra tests to make sure that there wasn’t anything else we could try to save him and she asked the other vets to look at him but unfortunately he needed to be put down. After this happened Dr. Janice was still in touch and even when I called in the receptionist remembered Hades and gave me her condolences. They also sent me a really sweet card with nice messages inside. Everyone here really cares. I have also met Doug LeGallais when I brought in my other cat for a skin problem, and he was super nice and professional! This is the only veterinary hospital I will ever bring my pets to. I trust them very much and thank you again for everything

My wife and I have been worried about our 7 year old Savanah tabby for over a week now. We called around to make an appointment but everyone was booked up. I left a message at LeGallais Veterinary Hospital and was surprise to get a call back the very next day. We got an appointment and Abbey was seen by Dr. Cathy Lau. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all Doctors and staff for, for all your kindness, professionalism and whatever you had to do to make an appointment even possible for our furbaby. Used to love this place. But our vet moved and new one is all about the money and doing tests . When wasn’t able to explain why we need one test she simply offered another, and other and other . At the end told me they issue may be resolved if I buy some food from them , like for real . Then informed me she already fed my dog canned food without my consent . On the phone I said I’m open to look and even buy some food if it going to help my dog but definitely not consent to feed her at 3 pm out of her food schedule and a can food when she is on the raw.Then told me to wait , went away and never came back . Now It’s 7pm Friday night and I have a dog with crazy non stop diarrhea from can food .Amazing service”.I know they have two more doctors but this was just too much for me . Place is nice and clean, reception and tech very professional. Shame I was recommending this place to all my friends and family.

I just registered my cats with this clinic. The staff are so friendly, especially Dr. Aidin. He is really professional and knowledgeable and built a good relationship with my cats. My cats were really comfortable with him. He patiently explained everything to me and I was so satisfied with this experience. Totally recommend him for your beloved pets.

I have had amazing experiences with this veterinary hospital. There is one vet that my puppy will not see but overall I have not had any serious problems with them. They are on the expensive side but worth it for the constant care before and after your fur baby leaves the office. The staff answers your questions quickly and efficiently. We have been with them for many years and fur baby number 3.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Janice Hung! I was referred to her by a friend when I adopted an injured dog. Her care is thorough, gentle and effective, but her communication is really special. I always feel like I'm making well educated decisions about my pets, thanks to her. I have now brought both my cats over into her care as well. The vet techs, assistants, and admin staff are incredibly organized and just so lovely to deal with. The clinic is always incredibly clean and inviting. Thank you all so much!

I know LeGallais Veterinary hospital is not the cheapest, but I can absolutely recommend Dr. Doug and this clinic. You can see how much the staff loves animales when you walk in with your pet or when they handle them. Dr. Doug has helped my family and I getting through some really tough times with our dogs (one with Lou Gehrig's disease and one with bone cancer) and even called late at night to check in with us to see how they were doing. Our cats have luckily not been sick (knock on wood), but I know they would always be in great hands here.

I had to take my dog in for an emergency visit last week. Having never been a patient, Denise (at the front desk) was so accommodating and kind, arranging to see us within 1 hour. Dr. Kate did a full assessment of my cavalier, Leroy to rule out any underlying issues and got to the bottom of his pain. She has called now twice to check in on Leroy. I've had both very positive and very negative experiences with Legallais and won't go back. Negative experiences include slapping an estimate of costs down before even diagnosing the cat, treatment of the cat without discussion of treatment or costs and generally very forceful opinions and arrogance.

I have been taking all my 3 pets to Dr.Doug for years. Two cats and a dog. He has always handled them gently even if my female cat has attitude, staff is awesome professional and caring. Facility is clean, comfortable, and organized. Most importantly I know and feel I can fully trust their team with my pets, because they are in professional and caring hands.

I still take our dog here it is very clean and new, the staff are nice, however since they moved to this new location, my dog never gets to see Dr Doug. Who is amazing, and it seems like there is always a new vet, and they only stay for a short time and then they move. I do find this very frustrating,especially because my dog goes there on regular 6mt visits because of medications, he is on. ????

There are not enough good things that we can say about this Vet. Prior to bringing our Wheaton Terrier to them for a cyst on her back we were very "anti-vet" and tired of getting hosed. Dr Doug (the owner) ALWAYS makes sure that each procedure is explained and lets you decide if you want to do a procedure; unless it is mandatory for the animals well-being then he will let you know it is not optional but he makes sure you completely understand why. He has a network of veterinarians he interfaces with across North America and if he wants another opinion on a complex x-ray or report he is happy to tap into that network for consultation. That is in no way an indication of a lack of experience or knowledge rather a reflection on his desire to ensure your pet gets the absolute best care. "I'd rather be certain in this case than waste your money on other tests and bye the way I am going to absorb the cost of this referral." This is a man you can trust completely with the care of your furry friends. He is very humble and so kind with the animals. When we brought our Giant Schnauzer in with a bleeding toe you could tell by the way he got on the dogs level and petted him that this man truly loves animals. Being a Vet is not what Dr. Doug does it is who he is. As a small boy I read all of James Herriot's books (A famous country Vet in the UK) and Dr. Doug is the living embodiment of James Herriot. Just so kind. His Dad was a Vet and now he is too; again not what he does but rather who he is. As for the odd negative review I have a really hard time understanding how anyone who has spoken to Dr. Doug would have anything other than admiration for this Vet and his practice. Not everyone is as over the top wonderful as Doug so if there is any issue at all just ask to speak to him. He likely will not be available but he WILL call you back and discuss any concerns you have because he truly cares for your pets as though they were his own. Like I said just not enough good words for this Vet!!

We are new to the clinic as we made the switch to follow our breeder who also attends the clinic. We also switched because we had previously had the great pleasure of Dr. W Johnson care for our fur child a now 4-year old Alaskan Malamute Hudson. We recently had our first visit for his welness exam and we couldn't be more thrilled with both welcome and service we received. We look forward to having LeGallais Veterinary Hospital care for Hudson for many more years to come. It's certainly worth the drive from downtown Toronto so I recommend them to anyone who is able to make the trip.

I have had such a great experience with LeGallais Veterinary Hospital over the last month and a half. I have already had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Aidin, Dr. Janice, and Dr. Willow. Our experiences with Dr. Doug Legallais have been absolutely great since we first came to the clinic last fall. Our basset hound, while very laid back and confident generally, has unfortunately developed a strong fear of going to the vet due to bad experiences at other clinics in the past. Dr. Legallais is so compassionate and patient with our dog, and you can really see that above all else he cares about her well being. We really appreciate all the time he has taken with us to help make sure we feel comfortable, and that our dog feels more at ease during visits. We are very happy with our experiences at the LeGallais Veterinary Hospital, and would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a vet that genuinely cares as much about your pet as you do!

Very expensive. Not knowledgable AT ALL! Dr. Nora confused my cats kidney and told us it was a tumor and she would need to be euthanized! Xrays showed that whoopsies! Was just her kidney! We will never be going there again. She also diagnosed our cat based on guessing. She admitted this to us. We also had to keep her overnight and they refused to feed her the food we brought, instead they offered her stupid perscription food. When we got her home 28 hours later she couldn't scarf her food down long enough. We gave them one more shot. The next time we went was with our other cat for vaccinations. They REFUSED to give him a rabies shot because they claimed his previous clinic gave a 3 year, when my paper work obviously stated one year. They also claimed he needed $2000 worth of dental work, but our new vet only charged $500. And the receptionists need to take a chill pill. Please! Your fake happiness isn't fooling anyone, its more annoying then anything. Absolutely terrible. Never go here!
