Dr. Shany is the best vet we have ever taken our animals to. He's knowledgeable, compassionate and genuinely cares about our pets as if they were his own. We make sure our cats are always booked to see Dr. Shany. We had a bad experience with Dr. Orsini, she gave us the wrong advice when we brought our cat in for acne. We saw her again when our other cat was suffering from an unknown illness and she was really rude. Not compassionate at all and didn't seem to have a care in the world that our cat was dying right before our eyes. Our cat ended up having to be euthanized and for that we saw Dr. Shany, he was very kind and gentle towards us and our cat. The entire staff from their technicians to their reception staff is amazing but I would highly advise against seeing Dr. Orsini.

We've been going to them for years for our cats, and now for our growing family that includes a dog! Staff are always great, honest, and no runarounds. Recently we had been dealing with a new vet, Dr. Laura, in addition to our original vet Dr. Matt -- she has been just as great as he has been over the years. They've also recently introduced a loyalty program, and that has already helped us out tremendously. A quick example of how great they were, is that our kitty Charlie had to go in for a few days for a severe issue and Dr. Laura gave personable emails every day from Charlie's perspective. This was above and beyond what a vet ever needs to do, and really helped us stay calm (which she did recover from, btw). 11/10, would recommend!

They helped us out on short notice, which was appreciated. They seemed to care about Lilly. Her problem was addressed and treatment prescribed. The only downside is in the past we found them a little expensive and because of the distance has forced us to patronize vet clinics in Kitchener with better rates. If they want to build their clientele it would be to their advantage if they were more competitive to justify the distance.

Ive been taking my dogs to Westmount Animal Hospital for a few years now and even though I've moved further away I keep coming here. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful from the greeting and help at the front desk to the vets we've dealt with. They are always fair and considerate and during appointments we're never rushed so we can ask whatever questions we have or address any concerns we've had about our pets. When one of our dogs got very sick, they were extremely comforting through the whole process of her getting surgery and recovering and probably helped mom and dad as much as patient through that very emotional time. Fantastic vet with excellent service, excellent knowledge, and more than fair prices.

Our dog is a rescue dog and because of that she can become very scared around people. The first vet we took her took, she was so afraid of them that we had to carry her into the clinic, and we thought she would get use to them after a while but the fear only got worse. so we switched to Westmount, the first visit she was nervous, but the staff understood her fear and they took the time for her to come to them. Everyone there listened to our concerns and answered all of our questions, and now our dog loves to go in and see them.

Worst experience ever! This place is money hungry , even if they advertise first visit being free , they call you in 2 weeks after just to get from you 70$ consultation without even spending more than 3 min with your pet and doing lots of unnecessary other tests without even asking just to get your money! It’s so sad that their primary interest is getting as much money as they can and not your pet wellbeing! So after spending more than 500$ within 2 weeks I still don’t know what my dog’s diagnostic is! Horrible place!

Just wasn’t fond of the whole approach, felt rushed. Displeased with the overall experience. I’ve had animals there in the past which I loved going there, there was a vet there I loved he is no longer there. It had been years since I have been there. We got a new puppy and first visit was ok. She checked her over said everything looked great. I asked her about food she said she won’t tell me what kind of food to feed my new puppy but to make sure it’s large breed puppy food. I do my Research and I feel raw food diet is the best for my pup. I make sure all supplements are there. She asked me what she was on and I told her raw food. She said she doesn’t recommend it for puppies. I understand vets don’t necessarily love the idea of he raw food, but in all honesty I also didn’t ask her for that opinion as she didn’t want to give me a recommendation for food in the first place. As I am aware that supplements are critical, I have supplements at home and she recommended flora flor. Which helps the digestive system. I told her I have a powder at home I give to her that does the same thing I can’t remember the name of it. She asked is it flora flor. I said no but it’s similar to what you described. And she continued to say no she needs this and obviously I said ok because the doctor knows best. I got the bill at the end already feeling unfulfilled with my visit and it was a bigger bill than expected. I also needed to book for a rabies vacune in a month. No one said anything the secretary rushed and and we left. Needless to say I’m on the edge of switching to another vet and have asked for recommendations in my community. Not one person said Westmount. I’m also not one to do reviews either but I feel this one needed to be done as my experience just wasn’t up there and when you pay that amount of money you want to make sure your dog is properly cared for. But I feel she gave her a once over and that was it.

Our youngest cat's dew claws had curled around and had punctured her paws. She would never allow anyone to go near them. We called this morning and were given an almost immediate appointment. They took Miss Izzy in, cut her dew claws back. Treated for a slight infection and brought her back out to us with some antibiotics. Payment was looked after via a phone and we were back home. They've been our Vet for years. No reason to look anywhere else.

I had recently moved to Kitchener, and Dr. Shany was recommended by our old veterinarian in Toronto (rated one of the best in the city). I strive to always find the best care for my cat Pebbles, and so it was no question that an exceptional veterinarian would only recommend another exceptional vet! Dr. Shany was fantastic with Pebbles, helping address her ear issue, and the clinic was able to see her quickly after an emergency episode that scared me half to death. I found some other reviews mentioning the price. They price themselves at the value they bring to their clients. My veterinarian in Toronto, the one that has been rated top in the city time and time again, is priced in the same range as Westmount. Having an animal does not come cheap, and veterinarians should not be selling themselves short for their time and effort that goes into providing care for animals. The veterinarians need to get paid, so do the technicians, so do the receptionists, plus they also need to pay the rent for the space, the hydro, the internet, phone service, and of course there's the fees for medications, shots, procedures, and so on. These are all factored in. When it comes to giving Pebbles the best possible care, I would pay a million dollars for it. No questions asked. Her ear medication was about $52 I believe, and I paid it in a heart beat. A week later her ears are squeaky clean and infection free. Evidently, the medication worked phenomenally. If you want your animals to receive exceptional care, I strongly recommend Westmount. The price is what you pay for excellent care and excellent facilities.

The Westmount Animal hospital excel in customer service and care for your pet. My dog Maya has been there several times from a small surgery to regular check ups and the staff always go above and beyond - taking the time to make her feel comfortable, the owner informed and always left in good hands. Awful veterinary experience. As another google reviewer said here a while back in their review.. ZERO stars. They do not like to get feedback from their clients here. It is basically their way or the highway. They even send you a letter in the mail telling you that because you provided them with some constructive criticism (feedback) that this isn’t the vet for you & you need to find another vet provider to care for your pet. Louise at the front is unapproachable & very unprofessional. Very poor customer service skills. Buyer beware! I would not recommend Westmount Animal Hospital at all.

Dr. Matt is the best! I’ve seen him in action last year with my little girl, and he was very patient and gentle with my dog. His assessment is usually quite timely and his orders are fair and on point. My dog is quite anxious, and he made her feel quite comfortable, which is extremely shocking since she doesn’t take well to strangers; this visit I was unable to go with my little girl d/t covid, but his assessment was quick, and his prescriptions will be a lifesaver I’m sure. I took my two dogs to Westmount yesterday and, despite the COVID protocols, it was a very positive experience. The vet tech (friendly and patient with my shy dog) came out to get my dogs promptly, both animals were seen promptly and I was advised what vaccines they might need for the year. Even with both dogs, I was done in under an hour and the vet took time to talk with me about these first time patients and give some advice for both as well as addressing my concerns about one dog being a little underweight. Again, the visit was a very positive experience and I will be returning to this clinic for future pet needs.
