I would honestly never recommend anyone use this clinic. The vet was very difficult to deal with, pushed procedures that weren't necessary including declawing. The clinic also not up front about required fees.

We moved to Canada from Turkey last year. We have a sick, 2 year-old cat, so we've been observing her health very closely from the beginning. We've met and worked with many vets from all over the world but never seen such a clumsy one like them! First of all, they know so very little about cats and they are ALL about money. They charge you for anything they can; even for filling out a form you bring to them... They don't even answer any questions without charging money (about an ongoing situation you've been seing them for). They don't have the slightest idea about some major breakthroughs in veterinary medicine... I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone who's really interested in their pets' health and well being, not being treated like royal family. We have another vet in Fergus now; changing them into the new one was the wisest choice we've made.

Was looking for a new clinic and I learned that St. Francis was recently taken over by new ownership so I thought I would give it a try. I could not have been happier with the results. I have been there twice now and have actually seen the same vet! That's unheard of at the old vet clinic we went to. I felt that we were in good hands the whole time we were there, and everything was carefully and clearly explained to me after the fact, which is huge!

This vet prioritizes profit over what is best for the animal and a loving family. The accusation that we wanted our pet's pain to end because "some people cant afford to take care of their pet and just put it down" was not only baseless, it was unprofessional and deeply manipulative. Thousands of dollars to run tests that change nothing, rude behaviour from the office the next day when I called as instructed for results. We immediately sought help from another vet who was able to help us manage her pain and health without the sanctimonious attitude, and respects that we will likely have to make hard choices about end of life care very soon as all measures over the last 3 months would only give us a few extra painful weeks for her. You should be ashamed.

We recently rediscovered St. Francis. One of our dogs is a very fearful guy, it's pretty heartwrenching and he's difficult to console. Even with the "fear free" protocols, he's a trembling mess, but the staff still accommodate his needs and respectfully take care of him at his pace. We really feel like he's seen and supported for the big chicken that he is. All procedures have been thoroughly explained to us, all invoicing clearly itemized, and treatment options were offered without pressure or judgement. Every staff member seemed to be equally informed about our dog's status and care needs. We are very happy to have found such a compassionate clinic. Every interaction with the Drs, RVTs and clinic staff have been warm, caring and kind.

My cat had jaundice so I brought her to St Francis. The vet suggested it could be cancer, and when I said I couldn't afford surgery, she coldly suggested I should put my cat down. What kind of doctor just tells you to kill your cat without doing any other diagnosis? It's like she was trying to scare me into spending money. She explained the situation way too fast, and when I asked her to repeat or slow down, she didn't. She just wanted me out of her office for some reason. She made me feel stupid for not understanding my cat's symptoms. It was only after some back-and-forth that she said we could do a blood test, which ended up coming back cancer negative. So I would've put my cat down for nothing! Eventually she gave me some pills to take home, and a few weeks later my cat was fine. When I went back for refills, the receptionist gave me different dosage instructions than the vet did, which was confusing. The doctor seemed to only care about how much money I had. Well, at least the pills worked.

Thank You all staff members! Without You my cat Oppi wouldn’t be with us anymore. After we get enormous estimate for helping Oppi with his urinary system blocked, maybe damaged etc we asked St. Frances clinic to help. They didn’t promised nothing but offered help. They even left me some time to talk to my cat(as funny as it could sound I did it!). Oppi spent in the clinic 3 nights. Oppi is back home. The bill was affordable. I am grateful beyond any words can describe it! I trust my beloved fur family to them without reservation.

Since we adopted an orphaned barn kitten, St. Francis has been on hand for checkups and neutering. They have always been helpful in providing advice and tips for caring for a pet as a first-time owner. The admin staff are caring and helpful for planning and scheduling times, and the vet is engaged and provides solid advice. She gave feeding and exercise tips to try and avoid excessive weight gain, and even let us borrow a toy that has given little Sammy hours of fun! I feel better as a pet parent knowing that help is just down the road. Eagerly recommend St. Francis to new and existing owners looking for a good clinic in the area.

Having dealt with many vets in both Canada and the US, I can honestly give the vets and techs at St. Francis a perfect score. They are knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful and compassionate. They are also highly proficient clinicians. Cost-wise, they are no more expensive than any vet who provides comprehensive care to your animal. In fact, our cat's surgical cost included absolutely everything - medication, checkups - EVERYTHING. Every cost is always estimated at every step of the way, which I really appreciate. We have dealt with St. Francis for 3 years now and have recommended them to other VERY happy clients. I would not take our cat to anyone else in the Kitchener area. A small note to folks complaining about cost: Please consider that a good, reliable, conscientious veterinarian is, actually, even more knowledgeable that a doctor for humans. A vet must treat several species, unlike human doctors, who deal with just one, and a vet must do a lot more work with a lot less information given by the patient. They run the risk of being bitten, kicked, stepped on, peed on (or worse) - and that's not even mentioning the diseases carried by un-vaccinated or neglected animals. They deal with all of this so that they can make your pet feel better - and do so only on the strength of your description, their own observation and whatever tests YOU authorize, because your animal can't TELL them what's wrong. And that's on top of being able to relate to the owner and make THEM feel better too. And I'm not even talking about the large-animal vets, here. And by the way, I have seen some incredibly compassionate pro-bono work from many vets who understand a particular situation. One more thing - although I have seen plenty of tired vets, I have never, ever-ever, seen a millionaire vet. For animal care in Canada, you're not overpaying for anything.

Well they have a great team but service compare to their prices is ridiculous! Today was our absolute last visit with Pasha! They re missing 2 of our last reports! Last time we got on a scale I saw with my own eyes that scale showed 95 pounds! Me and Pasha were in today and my 1 year old growing monster scaled 76 pounds! Im told their scale wasnt working properly and thats why they got a new thousand dollar scale!! Thousand dollars is what you guys make in 4 clients that come in! And you waited that long to buy a new scale and you just wanted to yell at our face that it was a thousand dollar scale ! Instead of a apology you wanted to yell out the price of your new working scale!I dont care how much you paid for your scale thats very unprofessional to yell that to a clients face! This was absolutely our last visit and I will be making sure no one I know steps in there. Ridiculously unprofessional

So far im very pleased to find a new vet here to bring my dog to. All the staff seem very welcoming and pleasant so far. The only thing im not to fond on is the location considering your near the street kids community centre. Those people im nervous around but on the alert of their actions and behavior and most of all i really impressed with the vet that is going to work on Rascals teeth. I was impressed with her approach...very friendly, very informative with what she needs to do with rascals procedure and most of all you guys gave me a idea of a quote on what this will cost me from lowest to highest.

I'm happy with the service the vets and staff at St Francis provide. I like that I can book appointments, follow up on treatment, and request refills for ongoing prescriptions by email. The vets and technicians are gentle and kind with my dogs. Their 'fear-free' practices are great for my dogs, who are nervous about having blood taken. One of my dogs is elderly and balancing his medications for multiple conditions has been challenging, but Dr Weir has been amazing about trying different things when necessary and communicating clearly with me. I've been happy with the dentistry that they've done on my dogs. Some reviewers have mentioned thinking that they are mostly interested in money and I disagree. They're keen on veterinary food that I think isn't high quality (4 of the 5 first ingredients were grains) but didn't have any issues when I decided to stick with my normal pet food. And, as with any vet, you can always ask what they hope to learn from a particular test or what the risks and benefits of a particular treatment are before you decide whether to accept it. I've said no to tests when I thought the costs (financial and/or in terms of the dog's stress) outweighed the benefits, again with no issue.

Staff were exceptionally friendly, and not just towards the beautiful terrier who was injured from a slight tussle with his big brother. Dr.Anna is absolutely amazing. My cat was extremely ill, and I had other vets ready to give up on him and tell me to put him down.
