This place truly cares for pets and their owners..the best by far !!!

Absolutely love this vet. The front desk staff are always super friendly and the vets are knowledgeable and friendly. They will always keep in mind your budget and not push expensive treatments or items you don’t need, they deliver all service at cost and work with low income pet owners. They have a low cost spat and neuter program as well. Highly recommend.

WAIT 2hrs for an appointment today @ 3:30pm... It's now 4:36pm... Still not been seen. They have been calling people to come to the door this whole time... We are parked in front of the place... They said they called us but didn't... We paid for our appointment.. they told us to wait until after close or reschedule your appointment until Sept. 11... IM SITTING OUT FRONT OF YOUR STORE FOR AN APPOINTMENT THAT I PAID FOR.... And I have to wait even longer now?

I had to bring my best buddy Chloe in today to get put down. When we were brought into the room there was a comfortable blanket placed neatly on the table along with treats and tissues, low lighting as well. I'm honestly amazed and so overwhelmed at how much thought and love went into making this process as comfortable as they could make it..... I called last minute as well and they were very compassionate and professional. I'm low income and the price for everything was more than fair. I cant say enough how much I appreciate their love & kindness. Will be bringing my Siberian Husky over to East Village from now on. ♡ Thank you xo - Jess

I Was recommend to this hospital after my four yr old was spade I was told she has severe gingivitis They Gave her meds til her appointment a week later I signed a basic contract for estamate for after surgery. When I arrived I was told that the policy had changed It will cost me &750 +?!! How as they say it's supports low income people is not what I experienced. My cat is still suffering because of money!!!

This place might just be my new choice for future vet visits! Their pricing is very affordable for low income individuals, their staff is friendly, and despite being fairly popular they kept an eye on sudden openings for appointments so I was able to snag a neutering the day after I called. He is a happy, if sleepy, kitty now :)

Great place, I took my 4-month-old kitten here, because she had to have her eyes taken out. They told me everything that was going on, and I got lots of after-care instructions, they took really good care of my little cat. She was all ready for me when I went to pick her up, with a little name tag on her carrier and everything. And it didn't even cost me too much. I was really happy I could have her taken care of, and be able to pay for it without worrying about it too much

They will force you to get tour dog fixed before they will even look at the dog so if you cannot afford 300 dollars right off the bat your better of going somewhere else. In my opinion you get what you pay for so there is a reason this hospital is so cheap. They cut corners. Also the receptionist lady is very very rude. I will be looking into this more with a legal team so stay tuned. Ps they give a discount for 5 star reviews so don’t believe all the hype!!

I had to do the inevitable yesterday and in a fast two weeks had to put my old dog Moose down, after a long 16 years. Times have changed but they were still so compassionate. I cried when they took her in to assess and I could not go with her due to social distancing. But they were kind they sent out a stretcher for her as she couldn't walk. Called my phone to let me know could do extreme measures for her, but at her age. I knew that already. They let me be with her still her final moments. Carried her out on her stretcher and laid her carefully in shade under a tree on walkway outback. They brought treats and had removerd her collar for me. I still got to talk her through it as her eyes closed last time. Laid there kissing her under a shade tree. Times have changed, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I actually was grateful. We had a celebration of her life the day before. Just so she could be outside one last time before the summer begins. This meant the world to me. Even if life goes back to normal ever again. I recommend asking for that shade tree out back instead of hospital room. Brought me so much peace. ❤ Thank you all who were their yesterday at East Village for our last leg of our journey together. ❤❤ During these difficult times they even had a table set up out front with free dog and cat food for those in need. They are honestly most loving caring group around!

I have been desperately calling since January to see if I could get a dental appointment for my poor little sick dog. He is in pain everyday and I am on Ow and cannot afford the hefty dental bill. Each month when I call EVAH they say that they are not accepting applications for dental due to the back log covid created,, and they have no ideal when that will change. Has EVAH really not accepted any new dental applicants all year?? I was so excited when I found out this place existed, cause I thought I had finally found a place that could help, but after almost a year of waiting, and not being able to even submit an application to get on the wait list, the reality is sinking in. With no end to my doggies pain in sight, I am once again filled with hopelessness and despair. Will Evah be accepting applications for dental anytime this year? Does anyone know of an organization or vet that could help my dog? Thank you Hopeless

Being on low income is hard enough. When they quote a price they then tell you when you are at the appointment they tell you it's $50 more than their quoted price... I'm pissed!! I will Never come back to this place again!!! Fair worning if you do come here have an extra $100 dollars saved up before going in.

Refused to tend to my kittens eye infection before having her fixed. They were willing to risk my cat losing her eye over not being fixed at 4 months old. Even when I said I was more concerned about getting her eye taken care of first, and once that was taken care of, I'd be happy to make an appointment to have her fixed. But they still refused. Heaven forbid I want my cat to keep both of her eyes, and heaven FORBID I want to ensure that before having he fixed!

The staff was very helpful, nice caring people. I did booked an appointment but wasn't seen until 40mins later. I understand that they were busy but no one came to let me know they were running late. I had to come outside and mentioned it. They did handle with care, made sure my pet was comfortable throughout the whole appointment. I recommend coming here but be prepared to wait awhile.

The staff who run the front desk are super friendly. I did NOT like the vet. She talked over top of us the entire time, we basically had to block the door to stop her from walking out on us because we still had questions and she just seemed in a rush. She told me that the cyst on the back of my dog's neck is just a ball of fat when I know for a fact it's a cyst. She slammed raw food diets. She didn't even allow me to explain anything about my reasons why I have him on it. She just kept saying they are dangerous and just a fad. When I started to explain all the research I did she just interrupted me saying that the company will feed me any information I want to hear in order to sell their food (I didn't even get a chance to explain I did more research then just about the company I buy from), and went on and on about brands like Royal Canin or any vet-brand food. I didn't even get the chance to ask if Royal Canin is so good, why is the first or one of the first ingredients corn/corn meal? She told me straight up that vets deserve a monopoly on food and dentistry. Bam! There's your answer. It's all about monetary gain, and even moreso for this location as they do charge lower prices so of course they want you to buy vet-brand animal products. The one good thing about her is that she was very open to the use of CBD (even though she made it clear she can't legally recommend it yet). Unless there is another vet that works there who has a better attitude, an open mind, and willing to have an actual conversation rather than just interrupt and not give us the chance to talk and ask questions, I'd rather go back to my old vet and pay the extra $50.

Very caring vets. Love how much my pets have been shown love from the staff. We recently had one cat get cancer and died within a few weeks. They showed her a lot of love. They have No breed biases. They check in on your pet, and allow communication online to speak to them. Only bad side is there is only one, and it is not a close or easy location. They have taken good care of my pets.

EVAH kitchener is now our permanent veterinarian clinic! The counter staff is very helpful and friendly. The vets are kind and compassionate with the animals and always take the time to listen to our concerns. They give genuine feedback and attention when we are with them. They make us feel like we are being listened to rather then rushing us out the door so they can move on. I'm always amazed that we get better service and care here, where we can actually afford to pay for proper health care, then we have had elsewhere when we paid double or more there. It's not a dreadful thing anymore to plan the next vet check. You know that what your doing for your loved one is the right thing and it fits your budget and you get the peace of mind knowing that you are putting your "baby" in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing and actually is kind to them while they are doing it. THAT IS PRICELESS!!!!!

I was just in with my puppy on Friday. The staff was super friendly and very patient. The vet that treated him took her time and gave me all my options. Did everything they said they would at less then half the cost anywhere else in the region of Waterloo. Edit: went in today, waiting over an hour before they took her in. Her appointment was for 11am I came 45 min early, first appointment, they made me wait an additional hour past the appointment. During a heat wave we're made to wait in the sun in front. I am sick, disabled and they don't care, wait in the sun until I have to throw up. Then they charged me over $100 for three needles that's supposed to cost $10. Each!! These people take advantage of sick disabled people, do not trust them. Never going back, cost just as much as going to a very expensive fancy vet where they actually care!

I can not reccomend EVAH Kitchener enough. From the first phone call to pick up time, all staff were extremely kind to me and my kitty. I was unaware that she was in heat before her spay and staff were very understanding and nice about that. Her surgery went very well. Procedure and aftercare were explained to me and any questions I had were answered in detail. It's obvious that EVAH really cares about the animals they see.

It was my first time at the vet and we brought 2 of our dogs. The vet was fabulous she was so nice and made sure to check everything and know our dogs history. She even gave us a couple free bags of dog food. Everyone was really nice and I felt that our dogs were getting the right kind of care

I went to east village animal hospital for my cat Marley. The vets and the receptionists were very helpful and kind. They saw her right away, they were fast, and very cooperative. My cat had a bad infection that spread and the vets were able to solve this issue immediately. I had seen another vet previously who wasn't nearly as fast, efficient, and caring as east village animal hospital. I will never go anywhere else! I have never been so happy that my Marley is going to come home safe and healthy. I HIGHLY recommend Eat Village Animal Hospital. Not only for their fast service but for their friendly and caring doctors.

I went to this vet to get my kitten spayed. When I went to pick her up they told me that they confused her with another kitten from the shelter I got her from and they tipped her ear. The vet was apologetic for the mistake but that does not fix what happened. I did not know what to say and am very upset with this whole situation. This is extremely unprofessional and I advise anyone who is thinking about taking their pet here to rethink that decision. Clearly the administration at this vet needs a lot of work. My kitten will forever be mutilated because of this idiotic mistake.

After having had my kitten Faith spayed here and seeing her heal in record time I was impressed. I've spayed and neutered many cats over the years and impressing me with routine sterilization isn't an easy task. Last week I had gone through hell with my geriatric kitty after she was misdiagnosed by another veterinarian. On Kizmit’s last morning she began to seize and I called several places to see who could see her immediately. Being on a fixed income and having already spent $250+ at another vet clinic I was begging for a payment plan. The staff here arranged for Kizmit to be seen and Dr. Amy diagnosed her very quickly with a sizeable mass in her abdomen that the other vet likely should have felt if a proper exam had been done. Despite my heart breaking and my anger at the other veterinarian for missing something that allowed my baby girl to suffer so terribly the staff was kind, respectful, gentle and reassuring that I made the right decision by agreeing to end Kizmit’s suffering. The technician was incredible and managed to get an IV catheter in on the first try despite the fact that my girl was dying and her blood pressure was falling. Dr. Amy was kind, efficient and gentle as she ended Kizmit’s suffering. I can't recommend the staff and this clinic highly enough. They provide a valuable service to those of us in the community who are living in poverty. Thank you East Village, Dr. Amy and the wonderful technician (whose name I've regrettably managed to forget). For all that you do, the acts of kindness, the dignity, the respect... It's more appreciated than I can possibly convey here in a simple review.

Wanted to say thank you to EVAH for helping me with my cats. I have a friend who goes to EVAH in London, so I was excited to check them out when they opened in Kitchener. I have two cats and one has chronic eye infections. The manager was very personable and had a lot of knowledge and the vets were so caring with my guys. So glad to have an affordable vet and save money, especially with repeated need for mediation. Vet care can really add up and my pets mean the world to me. Highly recommend EVAH :)

EVAH is the most caring vet hospital for those on low income. Everyone there shows tremendous care and compassion to all the animals and their owners. Prices are very reasonable, they are always grateful for donations of dish soap, paper towels, laundry soap,etc. There is a bin for those to donate food, toys, etc for anyone needing something and they need pill bottles. I encourage everyone to donate one thing when they come in as it keeps the prices lower and allows more animals to obtain great medical care.

East village animal hospital (Kitchener) has to be the best animal hospital around!!! My 13 year old golden lab needed emergency pyrometra surgery done today. Even though I was a hot mess walking in and having to leave my furry baby behind the staff were all incredible not only with Nakita but with answering all my questions and concerns with patience and understanding! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such care of Nakita today!! This veterinarian service is just that! The receptionist (s) are running around crazy with the phones and check ins. The vets vary which isn’t unusual as they train people to become vets. They have more times than not been excellent to my dogs and myself. I, only ever had one experience where a woman tech knocked loudly to enter (why knock; no one is undressing?), my dog barked for awhile so she left came back did the same thing in addition to loudly dropping her metal clipboard on the tin table. I ushered her out and to the administration. She didn’t see my dog another tech with less experience but matching personalities did look after my 2 dogs. So, why didn’t you do either action I did to resolve your issues?? Legal talk without making any attempt while there will get you no action. It sounds like your behaving worse than your pet at the vet. Go elsewhere but where are you going to get $$$ to do the same “ neutering “ done? Every veterinarian suggests it they can’t make you do anything, even accept dog treatment.

Would not recommend this clinic to anyone. My dogs got vaccinated last month, the appointment took 1.5 hours, and I was patient. My dogs needed boosters 1 month later and I was told at the original appointment that the cost would be in the first bill, and I wouldn't owe anything at the second visit. I had a friend with me who also heard me ask, and them tell me this. Well at the second visit It again took them over an hour before they even brought my dogs in, had to call 10 times to say I was there for my appointment but nobody answers, you knock and they ignore you. Then they bring out a bill at the end when I already specifically asked and was told the booster cost was already covered at the first appointment. Terrible customer service, save your money and go to a clinic that actually cares about their customers. This clinic will rack your bill up any way they can.

I was told by the vet (Maddie) that my cat rabies shot would cost $10 only and no other fees (I had already paid for the phone consultation visit with her and the start up fee). When I get to the appointment I mentioned that the cat had a sore on his mouth and could they look at it seems he was there. They then told me it was $40 fee for the rabies shot visit due to examination fee. After I get him back I phone and asked what the sore on his mouth was and they didn't even look at his sore!! Poorly organized. I was fed false information and when I got home my bill had Mrs. Roberts on it and that is not even my name!!

We had booked two appointments, and we went to there two times. First, They told us that dont have a doctor and second they told us we were late. Yes we were late 20 minutes because he is not person, he is pet and we tried him to put in to the box. We dont want upset him. he was very hungry and stressful to prepare sterilization. they dont understand pets' psychologically, and they are not polite. in my opinion people shouldn't prefer this hospital. In addition, they behave according to people's income. Hopefully I thought wrong. We were very sorry because we had trusted them. Now , he didn't sterelization. We will book from other polite hospital.

It’s great to have this place around, since vet services can otherwise be very expensive for people with limited budgets. The doctors and assistants here seem to have done a good, thorough job; which is most important. I’m not giving 5 stars because appointment slots are very limited and you have to book early (1+ month ahead). Also, they seem over-cautious about COVID. I could never even enter the clinic, and had to do everything by phone.

Horrible place. Horrible service. Horrible people. I can't even count how many misdiagnoses and contradictions they've made on my pets, notwithstanding the absolutely abhorrent treatment of my animals. If you bring your pets here, be aware that they will be left on the floor of the clinic in their carrier for over 8 hours with no food, drink, or litter, and then returned to you covered in excrement. Do not bring your pets here. If you want to save money, use them as a dispensary for medication, you will end up losing more money in the long run if you take your pets here for treatment. They hide fees and you'll end up paying 200% of your initial invoice. Not to mention they will ignore you and perform procedures amd tests you explicitly tell them not to. My cat was here for 8 and a half hours for a simple x-ray.

A simple vaccination appointment took an hour and 45 minutes. Their record keeping is a joke. I found out after the appointment that the vaccination required, wasn't given so now I have to book another appointment. They don't notify clients when their pets are due for shots, it's up to the client to know what shots are required and how often.

I actually called them to inquire about declawing a cat for an elderly friend who's family doctor has recommended he get his kitten declawed because she is causing him physical complications by scratching him and it not healing and now he's on antibiotics and has to go to the hospital once per week to get his wounds cleaned and looked at, he's debated back and forth about it and he loves the cat so he wants to keep her but he can't keep getting scratched. The woman who answered the phone was a total snot to me. Completely rude, like "how dare I even ask about it" level of rude. Yes, I am aware that is not the kindest procedure to have done to a cat but she was a barn kitten and at least now she's being properly taken care of and fed and not sickly, she's fixed so she won't add to the out of control cat population. I wonder would they accept dog patients that have had their tails or ears docked, because personally I find that just as cruel of a procedure.

Recently brought in my friends 4 legged baby in to get looked at after her spay, she was a bit too active and made it sore. The staff was so friendly, and were great with communication with the dog owner and myself, having to deal with covid stuff. They have buckets of free animal supplies outside, not sure of what but was such a above and beyond gesture. This vet provides professional professional AFFORDABLE care for "low income" people, like extremely discounted to other vets, a miracle for pet owners that can't afford hundreds to thousands.

Had 7 cats fixed there yesterday. Came to just under $1100. I was quoted $750 for one cat by our local vet. Prices are amazing and they are ever so kind to both our pets and us. I will NEVER go to another vet. It's definitely worth the 2 hour drive for us!

I came in today for my dog to have surgery, I was super nervous and anxious all day waiting for her to be done. I am so happy and genuinely grateful for the amount of empathy, care, reassurance, and passion that we saw in the technician today. She reassured us on the phone that she was cuddling her and wrapped her in warm blankets. They don't actually assist people with odsp or on low income unless of course your pet is spayed and neutered. Well, I wish I had been told that earlier instead of continuously reaching out through emails on and off to find out when my dog would be eligible to be a patient. It appears that was never a possibility in the first place. Now I must go about acquiring a fortune to actually address the family dogs health issues which I was hoping to finally be able to have addressed by this hospital at an affordable and realistic rate. If only there actually were programs that cared about animals. Unfair on so many levels.

Dr Andrea is as unprofessional as they get. I took my cat here figuring I would have to put him down 18 1/2. I wasn't allowed in with him. When she called and said he should be put down, I asked if I could see him first. He was brought to me sedated that he looked like he was already dead. He didn't move at all, his eyes just stared without moving at all. I gave him back. I live 45 minutes away and was called by Dr Andrea on my way home and was told my cat overdosed on the medicine. I questioned if my cat was actually euthenized then. She immediately said yes, I think back tracking from mistake. I paid for a service I don't think I got. I think he died before she got back to him. As she said he would die that night or next day when saying he needed put down. NOT A VERY PROFESSIONAL VET AT ALL. SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE A LICENSE.

Posting this for my mom and dad. My parents dont have a lot of money and their puppy needed shots and to be neutered. The first call went amazing to book, the staff were kind and informative. The day of the appointment went beautifully!. The office is clean, neat and tidy and my parents were worry free as they patiently waited for the surgery and tests to be completed. Upon pick up of their fur baby, a discharge video was played that explained everything they would need to know for when they got their baby home. Included some pain medication, instructions and a cone to protect the wound. Staff were kind, attentive and so sweet... My family appreciates everything you are doing at East Village Vet clinic, we thank you from the bottom of our heart for taking such good care... God Bless!!
